listen I expected literally Nothing from the D&D movie okay, like I can't make it clear enough that I expected the most soulless money grab with a good cgi budget imaginable, I went in having already gone through every stage of grief and landed on acceptance and LISTEN

I fucking CRIED during this dumb RPG movie. it wasn't just "not terrible" it was objectively good with a clever plot and compelling characters and sincere emotional beats. this movie loves D&D so fucking much and it NAILS the "a bunch of goobers try to be cool and accidentally discover The Power Of Friendship And Also Great Violence" classic D&D party vibe. their barbarian's last name is fucking Kilgore and my entire family cried in the theater.

I hope they make twelve of these motherfuckers.

I had a post a while ago about making sure your dnd character WANTS to be an adventurer a while ago, something else I’ve been thinking about is the importance of making a dnd character that WANTS to be in a group and have some sort of relationship with other PCs. the Group Nature of ttrpgs means lone wolves just aren’t feasible. if you really want to play a lone wolf or antisocial character at the beginning then I highly recommend telling your dm and the others players that you plan on forming bonds along the way and growing out of that mindset. otherwise why are you playing dnd, a group activity that involves cooperation and building relationships? Just Write A Book if you don’t wanna be in a group

#the advice Just Write A Book goes out to DMs a lot but it also applies to PCs I think #I’ve had character ideas that I’ve moved from PC to Book Character for this reason!!#I do like lone wolves who don’t trust others but they’re way more fun to read about than actually play #pls cooperate with the other players and be friends at the table lol #dnd

The lack of media literacy in the baldurs gate fandom is astounding. There's a good ending for Astarion and a bad ending for him and people keep picking the bad ending for him and being shocked when he's mean to them LMAO.

#dnd lore is very specific about vampires too they don't have souls but spawn do #bg3 #bg3 spoilers #not to mention i think the writers of the game confirmed that ascension is a bad end #neil said he has an a and a b end which is basically the same thing #as for the soul thing the reason true vampires are so evil is bc of their lack of souls #and bc when a player character gets bitten and becomes a spawn they still have their soul and cognition and alignment #ascended Astarion #Astarion x reader

Redrew an old piece from 2020 of my first DnD character. The campaign never quite found its end, and I do not know if it ever will, but mAN I was 17 at the time and I was in love with her, so I doubt I'll stop wanting to draw her just yet.

My Dnd character’s prosthetic had to be replaced recently (in part due to him needing the arm amuptated again further up) so it was redesign time! Worked with the player who’s the party artificer to come up with something. We really wanted the new design to look like technology has advanced a bit. He has less hinge joints and more ball joints now.
