my current obsessions (warning: very long)

okay so first of all, to all of my followers (if even have any wheezes) i am soooo sorry for not being active. just things have been going south and further south for me. buuuuuut i've also been like hyperfixated on newer animes and on one manhwa (sadly it's killing stalking).

ANYWAYS.... MY CURRENT OBSESSION RN IS FUCKING DEMON SLAYER. i started watching it back in like march or february and i've been simping and focused on this anime ever since. i fucking love it omfg. my favorite characters changes a lot depending on my mood, but i am big on TENGEN (mr. flashy), RENGOKU (donut), AKAZA (donut maker), DOUMA (he puts the G in lGbt), HAGANEZUKA, and lastly... i know yall saw that new episode of season 3 w/ hantengus's fucking clones. tbh i didnt even know he could do that BUT ALL FOUR (i know there's five of them but rn it's four) OF THEM CAN GET IT. IM SORRY.

LIKE DID YALL NOT SEE THE MELANIN IN THOSE MEN?!?! THE MELANIN, THE HAIR, THE ABS, OMG. it makes me soooo excited to see darker skinned ppl in anime shows bc you know they dont hardly get drawn. and even if they are depicted as villains/demons/antagonists representation is representation. A WIN IS A WIN.

so speaking of those four i am heavy, heavy, heavy falling for my boy karaku. i mean yeah sekido can put in that work, aizetsu whimpers like a bish, and urogi is hot and all, but KARAKU?!?! UNGGGGHH. i hear sum puRRRINGGGG~~~

im thinking of writing of maybe a smut, or something platonic and basic with those four in mind. maybe just headcanons though.

another anime im fixated on even though i aint even watched not one damn episode but i feel like i know what going on in it thanks to tiktok spoilers on my FYP is BLUE LOCK. let me explain.

so out of nowhere i get this edit of rin itoshi on my fyp of him w/ the song "trance" by metro boomin and i was like damn he cute af. lemme see what anime this is. and i found out it was blue lock. so i was like ehhh sports anime dont really attract my attention like that so imma pass-

BUT THEN. A MONTH LATER. I SEE THIS FINE ASS GYARUO-LOOKING ZESTY ABOMINATION OF A MAN NAMED SHIDOU RYUSEI ON MY FYP IN AN EDIT AND I WAS LIKE WHO IS HEEEE?!! like not only is his eye color my favorite color, but he has the MELANIN. and ugh he's voiced by gojo (who i simp for too btw) VA.

and then after doing some investigating i find out some important things about this mofo. 1. he almost tried to kill kunigami, 2. he almost tried to kill rin, 3. he has some sort of love, admiration for sae (rins big bro), 4. AW YEAH HERE COMES THE DOPAMINE~, 5. it's canon that this man is so devious he had to get tied up with a muzzle bc he was too much for the blue lock ppl to handle (honestly tying him up w/ a muzzle sounds racist my boi), 6. he is ZESTY.

i just might end up writing some imagines, headcanons, etc. with shidou bc god i love me a toxic man.

LASTLY TO WRAP THIS SHIT UP I AM FIXATED ON MHA. but im not joining the fandom, im just fixated on the following characters: dabi, and aizawa. i love me a man with daddy issues and a man who can be my daddy. i feel like at this point i dont even need to read the manga or watch the anime to know what is going on and who's who thanks to tiktok spoiling every thing for me.

More spoilery thoughts and opinions on Episode 1 of the Swordsmith Village Arc

I've seen some opinions out there that the new OP is cheesy, and... you know what, it kinda is. However, this is also a bit of a cheesy arc for how it spoon feeds us the back stories of two Pillars without reaching the height of their arcs, like the previous two did with a focus on a single Pillar each. Plus, Gyokko and Hantengu are kind of the throwaway Moons. I'm sure the song will quickly grow on me and I really like some of the visuals and subtle use of early dawn lighting.

Poor Genya gets shafted though, he's bound to get Akaza come-from-behind marketing treatment, he has to. I had the pleasure this time overhearing an excited Genya fangirl leaving the theater.

Mitsuri really truly is adorable and I love her performance of so many lines, but... I kinda thought her interactions with Nezuko were gonna be cuter than that and I'm still sad I didn't get to hear her singing "Miya-san" so I guess I'll just have to do my best Hanazawa-san impression and sing it myself.

Gotou still steals the show, though. I know this is supposed to be the big flashy Upper Moon meeting in which the Fortress steals the show, but no, this was Gotou's stage. His vocal performance has so much personality and I love it.

Jumping back to non-spoilery territory, I love that scene of Gyutaro bullying Tanjiro, it's got so much impact. They went so hard on that and just slowing it down and letting every action breathe. Also, Daki's death tears me up EVERY TIME.

Also going backwards, I love the AMVs at the beginning, the editing on the Gurenge one is especially chef's kiss. Lining up Tanjiro's line with "terashite" is just wow.

I love Tanjiro banging his head on the floor. I love Nezuko crawling around under tables.

Tecchin's two styles of vocal performance worked so well for me. Also I love hearing all the Kakushi and random swordsmiths, I love how there's so many individuals in this Corp. I do not know what was up with the Kakushi waiting for Mitsuri to follow her, though. In the manga I read her discomfort as needing Mitsuri to hurry and come but being unable to pester a Pillar, but the anime the seemed to take it as the Kakushi being all fluffy in the head listening to to Mitsuri praise Tanjiro and give him advice (and to be fair, I was also fluffy in the head listening to that scene again, I feel all wrapped up and warm in Hanazawa-san's voice in surround sound), but.... it comes off like the Kakushi has a really, really big crush on Mitsuri. I mean, sure, but... it was a touch distracting.

I really don't mind the "Tanjiro is a shonen hero who has encounters with sexy women and he cannot help but be a bit bothered" thing. Tanjiro's as respectful as it gets for a teenage boy with a typical sex drive, what with being able to still carry on a conversation with Shinobu when she gets in his personal space or Mitsuri being absentmindedly provocative. Cover her!! Save the rice balls!! On the other hand, I was annoyed by Zenitsu's one appearance when I first saw this, but on second watch, yeah, what else do we expect from Zenitsu, it wasn't all that bad to just be excited that a girl might be thinking of him. But also, it's so sweet that Aoi got to have a little narration? I feel so bad for her running into walls, though!

Wow, that last paragraph was all over the place.

Kanao is still so timid, with how much she talks in the fight with Douma and even during the fight with Muzan, it's easy to forget she's still barely gotten used to this whole speaking up thing, after years of never saying anything unless prompted. Poor baby is still so fragile. I love how after her startling outburst Kiyo still winds up mothering her by suggesting what they go do next.

I really like Yoriichi's voice, it's similar to Tanjuro but filled with a very different mindset, one that really does make you feel what Tanjiro feels for him, wishes he wouldn't think such lonesome things. I like that he feels like a full grown man and not someone who can be confused with the teenage members of the cast. Also, great editing choice to end the episode on Tanjiro seeing the battle doll, instead of seeing it later on like he did in the manga. Also, baby Sumire has reddish hair, eeeeee!!!

THE TITLE CARD FOR THIS EPISODE HAD A MOTIF OF YORIICHI'S EARRING AND PLUM BLOSSOMS LIKE ON UTA'S KIMONO, EEEEEE

Speaking of previews, I was not happy to see all those previews of settings in the Infinity Fortress Arc. I'M NOT READY TO WATCH MORE PILLARS DIE, OKAY, but I do like that Ufotable is winking at us like, "oh yeah, you're totally gonna get it all, see, we already have models started." I assume they'll add more details once they're animating that season, but speaking of improving on the model in later seasons... HOLY SMOKES, LOOK AT DOUMA'S EYES

You know what? I found Gyokko's awkward/uncomfortable "uhhhhnnn"'s kind of endearing and I'm looking forward to more. Also, seeing him in animation is already making Hantengu grow on me in a "he's a funny little guy" kind of way. It'll be fun to hear the range on how he's performed.

Im going to do kny since Resident Evil is such a huge, plot hole ridden franchise i don't even know where to begin and I was always a Silent Hill gal anyways lol

Favourite Male Characters: Akaza, Douma, Kokushibou, Gyutaro and Tanjiro (well for the first part of the series at least)

Favourite Female Characters: Shinobu, Mitsuri, Tamayo and Koyuki

Least Favourite Characters: I am going to exclude characters that are meant to be disliked so:

Ok rants incoming under read more

1) Kagaya: Others have written much more detailed essays on why his writing is bad. The thing about Kagaya that annoys me the most are not exactly his actions but the way the narrative unironically frames him as this pure, perfect figure that can do no wrong. His most questionable actions like his very uncomfortable relationship with Sanemi, encouraging Shinobu to basically kill herself, him killing his own children etc. are all swept under the rug in favour of an extremely boring character. Imagine if Kagaya was actually presented as a flawed, human being.

Like, he wants to kill Muzan for the greater good, but in order to reach this goal he is willing to manipulate, deceit, encourage self-destructive behaviours among the slayers and throw anyone under the bus, even his own family that would make a much more interesting character and actually humanize him . It would even make him a parallel to Muzan by how willing they both are to ruin lives to reach their own goals (this would also require to make Muzan not be pure evil, you know a bit of a ying yang symbolism) but well we are stuck with this I guess.

Also on a sidenote am i the only one that gets weird cult vibes when it comes to Kagaya's relationship with the pillars. Especially in his introduction, Sanemi's flashback and Rengoku Gaiden (where Sanemi acts like a literal dog around him, yikes man)

2) Nezuko: I do not hate Nezuko but I hate her writing if that makes sense. Despite being the deuteragonist she is treated more akin to a cute mascot. She is constantly sidelined, her agency always taken away from her, she is given the most contrived power ups, she acts like a puppy (and I know that we are given an excuse in the manga on why she acts like this but i do not find that reason sufficient) and she is almost never allowed to talk nor are we shown her thought process.

Nezuko could have been such an interesting character. Maybe let her talk and express her thoughts and feelings, act like a girl her age (maybe she wears the muzzle only when she is in crowd filled with people and when the pillars and slayers that distrust her are around but removes it and talks when the Kamaboko squad, Kanao, Genya,Mitsuri, Aoi, Giyuu or Shinobu are around)

Edit: After this paragraph I made a huge rewrite of Nezuko's personality but since this is an ask game and not a how you would rewrite kny game I decided to edit it out. On a final note Nezuko should be given the same agency as her male counterparts ok goodbye.

Prettiest Characters: All of them tbh. Kotoha, mother spider demon, Kanae, Koinatsu-oiran, Haganezuka and the Tsugikuni twins being my favourites.

Funniest Character: Douma no competition, his first instict upon coming across two dying children on the street is to tell them wazzup, he gets killed and the first word he tells his murderer is "sup" like they are old college buddies. Kny AU where Douma says a your mom joke to Inosuke.

Favourite Arc: Despite it's myriad of flaws the Infinity Fortess arc is definetely my fav.

Favourite Episode: My favourite episode is Season 1 Episode 16. Spider mother demon's assisted suicide is one of the most beautiful and bittersweet moments in the series, def in my top 5. It perfectly showcases Tanjiro's empathy, it greatly humanizes the antagonist and just the music, the colours, the voice acting aghh.

Favourite Chapter: Akaza's backstory and death (i think it was chapters 154-156?) Just *sighhhhhhhhhh*

Favourite romantic ships:

Canon Ships: Hakuji and Koyuki is the only romantic relationship that Gotouge didn't manage to fuck up and i love them for it. How Koyuki and Hakuji clearly adore eachother and you can see why. How Koyuki and Keizou represent Hakuji's ability to love and his humanity and when they are cruelly taken away from him from other humans (recalling back to an earlier time where demons were portrayed as man-made monsters) it completely destroys him. I love a well-written tragic romance and those two just hit the spot for me. My emotional support bi4bi couple if you will.

Non Canon Ships: Shinomitsu like the power this ship holds... and how well those two compliment and parallel eachother with Mitsuri being insecure on her physical strength and Shinobu being insecure on her physical weakness and how they can help each other overcome said insecurities. We should have seen those two interact more in canon.

Kanao×Nezuko

I also like the Yoriichi× Sumiyoshi× Suyako polycule since Yoriichi deserves to be unconditionally loved, man went through a lot.

Favourite family ship: Gyutaro and Daki/Ume my beloveds. But like they are already related so idk what this question implies.

Favourite friendship: Kamaboko squad (when i say kamaboko squad, nezuko, genya, kanao,senjuro and aoi are always included the majority of their friendship is what i have written in my head but shh it's fine it's fine)

Worst Ships:

Canon Ships: Tanjiro × Kanao completely lacks any kind of romantic chemistry and it seems that they have been only paired up because she is girl and he is a boy,which, ughhhhh. Also the moment Kanae gives Kanao her coin and she implies Kanao will open up when she meets the boy she likes. Like babe, Kanao is so emotionally closed off due to trauma which was caused by being severely abused at home, the presence of a boy will not cut it.

Nezuko × Zenitsu is quite dreadful and it truly brings out the worst of Zenitsu's character. Not only does he act so obnoxiously and over possessive whenever he is near her but we also have no idea how Nezuko perceives him or if she is even able to comprehend his crush on her or if she can even form a romantic interest on her own since she acts like a kitten most of the time. Also the part where Zenitsu is frothing at the mouth because Sanemi pats Nezuko's head undermines his character development after his fight with Kaigaku. You are telling me the same manga that gave us this also gave us Hakuji and Koyuki? Like, okay.

Inosuke × Aoi: Aoi has more chemistry with the concrete wall in the Butterfly Estate than she does with Inosuke.

Non-Canon Ship:

Outside of the unmentioned gross shit like incest and pedophilia

Giyuu × Shinobu: I don't see it, i cannot see it, why is it such a popular ship ? (I mean we know why, that's rhetorical) I cannot perceive Shinobu and Giyuu as anything other than wlw×mlm solidarity/hostility. Like boys and girls can be friends with each other with no romantic motive, people.

Giyuu × Sabito: Someone described Sabito's and Giyuu's relationship as two 12 year old boys blowing raspberries at each other and...urmm...yeah...

Douma × Shinobu: No comment

Douma × Kotoha: heteronormativity is a disease

Heya!!!!!

My week has been pretty good!!! I did most of my Christmas shopping yesterday and I've been cleaning my flat to try and not let things pile up too much! It's nice to be in a clean area! It keeps me a little more motivated!

Ahh I love gaming! I grew up with not many friends, I was sick a lot as a kid and missed a lot of school and whilst I have a big family and 4 sisters, making friends was a struggle for me. So whilst I was off school I would play games and it would make me very happy and distract me from any pain I was in from my illnesses. Gaming is very important to me!

I'm not sure what I'll be doing for Christmas! I think I'll be going down to my dad's and we'll probably just watch TV and eat food! I hope I get to see my niece and nephew on the day as well! Do you have any plans?

This is my first time taking part in anything like this!!! I decided to because I've worked really hard on my editing over the last year and I've become a little more confident in my skills so I thought it would be fun! I'm also a very anxious person, so sending anon messages to people can be nerve wracking for me but I think it is also a good way to improve on those fears!

I read manga whenever I have the time to! I tend to really just read the series of shows that I have watched but I am always on the look out for new series! I've been neglecting reading a little bit since I've been so busy but in the new year I wanna get back on it! I watch anime at least once a week! I don't watch many non animated shows so anime is my fave thing to watch!

Iqnsuajsnjsos I just love Douma with my entire heart! I think he is so cute and funny and I think he's an interesting character! I wish we could've seen more of him or to see him interact with his cult more. I love his design, i'm a complete sucker for black and red. I also love a cold aesthetic and his abilities being ice is everything to me.

I like to read people's headcanons about him (however I am the most correct person about him) and I read some x reader but I really love him so they are cute to read! I like fluffy stuff since it makes me feel so soft and warm 🥺 any scenario that is just warm and fluffy makes me so happy.

I don't ship him with any characters so I won't read any of those types of fics. I also won't read anything where he's super mean to me because he would never do that 😭😭

To answer your final questions,

I would like to visit Ireland! I have a lot of Irish heritage and it looks really pretty. My twin sister visited Japan twice and she told me it's great so I would like to visit! She also lived in South Korea for 2 years and she has so many fond memories of it so I would love to visit there and see what it is like! Is there any countries you would like to visit???

Oh wow! You speak 2 languages!!! That's so cool! I'd love to learn more but I really struggle with picking them up :( my twin sister can speak around 5 languages pretty much fluently and seeing the amount of time she puts into learning 😭 i just could not do it but I admire people who can because it can be so hard picking up new words!!!
