On another note you’re a fantastic writer and I’m adoring the series you got going on. They’re very captivating to read

So sorry for putting this off for so long ! It’s a seriously good question and I am seriously invested and for that reason! I procrastinate so much on it lol (not to say questions i immediately answer arent, i am just all over the place 😅) (also thank u so much for the kind praise 🙏💗 I am so happy ur enjoying it and it means a lot to me <33)

this ask is especially important as it has also been asked before which i will link this post to as the answer right after :)

i’m including all former and current members for completion. Also their birth years (from the YJ wiki) for added context, because why not.

okay so based on multiple YJ scenes (some examples shown below) and 1 ask greg these r my estimates:

(disclaimer these r all rough estimates, no way of knowing for 100% sure and I don’t claim to have a complete picture of all relevant scenes for height cold reading lol i would be happy to hear other peoples thoughts/ideas/corrections as well :D )

Rough Outsiders Height Ranking:

Geo-Force - Brion Markov : (2001) probably roughly max 6 ft 4 (about 1.95m)

Cyborg - Victor Stone : (2000) maybe about 6 ft 2 -3 (about 1.9m)

Blue Beetle - Jaime Reyes : (2000) about 6 ft 2 (1.88 - 1.9m) i actually have him tied with Vic, the only reason why id rank him a little lower is because in some scenes it could be his suit giving him some height.

Static - Virgil Hawkins : (2000) about 6 ft (1.85m)

El Dorado - Eduardo Dorado Jr : (2001) actually i tied him with Virgil but i’m not always certain so i’d also estimate about 6 ft but a range of (1.83-1.85m)

Superboy - Conner Kent : (2010 lol) about 5 ft 9 (1.8m)

Robin - Tim Drake : (2001) about 5 ft 8 (1.78m)

Wonder Girl - Cassie Sandsmark : (2001) id put her at the same height as Tim maybe only slightly shorter, but Greg has mentioned they’re roughly the same height so therefore also 5 ft 8 (1.78m)

Kid Flash - Bart Allen : (2043 🙄 cause hes different like that LOL jk but he’s the equivalent age of 2003) id put him between 5 ft 6 - 5 ft 7 (about 1.7 - 1.73/4m)

Livewire - Leslie Willis : (2002) about 5 ft 5 (1.68m)

Looker - Lia Briggs : (2002) about 5 ft 4 (1.65m)

Windfall - Wendy Jones : (2005) about same as Lia maybe 5 ft 3 - 4 (1.63 - 1.65m)

Beast Boy - Garfield Logan : (2002) about 5 ft 2 - 3 (1.6-1.63m)

Stargirl- Courtney Whitmore : (2003) about 5 ft 1-2 (1.55 - 1.58m)

in terms of growing up in the apocalypse making you willing to do things that aren't squeaky clean morally, i've always had the headcanon that Bart has sticky fingers. "it's not stealing, it's scavenger rights" was his whole way of life, so taking things without thinking would probably be a really hard habit to break. like he has to consciously resist the instinct to do things like grab stuff he wants and hide it/take off with it, or grab a candy bar off the store shelf and eat it without paying

He would totally do that - especially in the early days. I can totally see Jaime patiently waiting to pay for something at the shops and suddenly the sound of Bart munching on something signals dirty looks from the till person and Jaime has to just smile awkwardly and be like - “I’ll pay that”. I see him constantly being like Bart put that back or he gets so used to it that he has a specific look everyone now knows to mean Bart don’t touch/hands in pockets. Also I like the idea that Jay and Joan would give him pocket money, but because he’s so used to not having money he never has it on him, meaning he always has to ask others to pay for his stuff and that’s why he “ate” Ed’s cotton candy, because he had no money and Jaime refused to pay for his date…again(?). So he did what he does best - get creative, scavenge and lie. And we love him for it.

He must have stolen a lot of food in his original time in order to actually survive with his accelerated metabolism though - I’ve always wondered how he managed that. Also, if Bart is wearing an inhibitor collar does that then mean he wouldn’t need as much food because his powers have been shut off? 🤷‍♀️

Funnily enough, his dad was the one who was experimenting on you

You had been one of the unfortunate ones of your pod to get captured

You tried singing to them, but they put a muzzle on you

Once, Ed teleported in to find you trapped in a little tank that could barely fit your tail and a muzzle on your face

It horrified him

He got flashbacks to back when The Reach had kidnapped him and the rest of them and done experiments

He fought with his father to have you released

They didn’t listen to him

So, he went behind their backs and released you

He wanted to take off your muzzle but every time he tried to reach you, you would just move away

So, he just took your hand and teleported the two of you to the docks

After that he hadn’t expected to see you for a while

But one day when he’s at the beach, he sees you again

“I never got the chance to thank you.”

“I wasn’t right what they were doing. I apologize.”

“It wasn’t your fault.”

And a beautiful relationship began

Him being so misinformed about sirens that you get irritated

“Humans like to make such stories.”

“So, it’s not true that sirens used their singing to lure sailors and kill them.”

“No! We used our singing to call for help from the sea when they tried to attack us. The sea was responsible for their ships being ruined and them drowning.”

“Why didn’t you call for help that night then?”

“Did you not see the muzzle on my face.”

The other sirens of your pod only judge you a little for having a relationship with a human

They come to land one day to spy on him and he notices

“If you ever even think of hurting her, you will find yourself at the bottom of the ocean.”

“Okay.”

Sometimes he gets kind of worried about how a long-term relationship with a siren would survive but he tries not to dwell on it for long

“Did you even want to ask Ursula for legs?”

“Ursula?”

“You know, the sea witch?”

“If this is some kind of children’s movie then so help me...”

Though he sometimes get’s the courage to ask seriously

“Do you ever want legs?”

“Do you ever want a tail?”

And that just kind of stumps him because this whole time he felt like he was showing an outsider his world, but he realized he was just as much as an outsider to your world

It gave him a change of perspective

Goes swimming with you sometimes and then gets lightheaded because he can’t hold his breath as long as you

For some reason, he likes seeing your tail flap around

Also likes seeing your tail glitter underneath the sunlight

Loves that you can talk to sea animals, but he does think it’s weird sometimes

“What did the dolphin say about me?”

“Nothing!”

“I know you’re lying; it’s giving me dirty looks!”

“Ed!”

But imagine in season 4 bartuardo slow burn pining starting like so:

* Mas y Menos (two 11-yo twin brothers who only speak Spanish and have speedster capabilities when they are in physical contact with one another) are rescued in an op in Guatemala stemming from residual meta-trafficking activity in Season 3. The two speedster brothers are caught up in a new evil Light scheme in which Psimon temporarily wipes the memories of meta-children so they can’t find their way back home even if they escaped, forcing their dependency on their kidnappers.

* The team rescues them, but realize it will take Miss M a while to recover the memories of each meta-teen because Psimon’s done some pretty bad damage.

* so they bring them to the Metahuman Youth Center where they can chill as Miss M works with the kids to recover their memories one at a time.

* None of the kids remember their own names, so they’re given nicknames instead. Mas y Menos are named for the plus and minus signs they have on their tshirts, respectively. Amongst the others include: future-to-be-Teen Lantern (Jessica Cruz), Flamebird (Mary Kane), and Empress (Anita Fite)

* The episode’s subplots can focus on different members of the team chilling with different meta-teens and developing bonds and helping them cope with their powers by setting good examples and inspiring them to do good (Vic and Static chill with Anita, Jaime and Traci chill with Jessica, and Cassie and Tim hang out with Mary), but for the sake of simplicity im gonna stick to the bartuardo subplot only lmao maybe ill think of the others later

* Most of the kids aren’t really feeling the aster due to the amnesia and foreign setting, but Mas y Menos in contrast are excited and zipping around and creating a mess and giving the Youth Center employees a headache. Ed enlists Bart’s help, because keeping up with two energetic, super-speed kids is taxing- even for a teleporter like him.

* Upon seeing Bart, Mas y Menos are awestruck; their memories are still fuzzy, but they do remember seeing Kid Flash on the news in TVs outside electronics stores in Guatemala, and they consider him their idol for their similar abilities.

* Bart doesn’t mind helping out, of course. He has plenty of experience chasing around speedsters- he does it all the time with Don and Dawn.

* He races with them around the youth center in a good-old game of tag in which he purposefully slows down often to keep the pair entertained.

* Bart catches his breath in the kitchen area and Ed hands him a cup of water. Ed mentions that he noticed Bart is especially good with kids, and apologizes for dragging him into this mess. Bart assures Ed that he doesn’t mind one bit and also casually mentions that in the future, he was often the one bringing the mood up especially with the younger kids so they wouldn’t be stuck feeling the mode all the time- and he knows Mas and Menos have been through a lot. Besides, crashing the mode is always better and he likes the two a lot.

* Ed tells Bart that he thinks he’s really crash, and the two have a moment ~staring into each other’s eyes~ (cue slow burn romantic pining)

* And then Mas y Menos ruin the moment by zooming into the kitchen so fast they break a few plates. Bart zooms off to chase after them as Ed looks fondly in his direction.

* Later, Miss M is finally able to restore Mas y Menos’ memory, but is saddened to learn of their past. It turns out Mas y Menos weren’t bogged down in homesickness like the other kids because they subconsciously had no real desire to stay in Guatemala. Their parents passed away a long time ago and unable to find family to take them in, the two were surviving off the streets in Guatemala when they were kidnapped by traffickers.

* Mas y Menos are feeling traught, but Ed ensures them that they are welcome to stay with him and chill at the Youth Center until they can arrange something else for them. They gladly accept, and are excited at the prospects of chilling with Kid Flash more. (Ed: “You guys can stay with me. We’ll help you settle in, maybe even make some more friends.” Mas: “But me and Menos have each other.” Ed: “Yeah, but you can make new friends now! Friends that’ll have your back.” Menos: “Like you and Kid Flash?” Ed: *internal anguish* “y-yea”)

* And that will be the start of them realizing that they’re more than BEST FRENS and then there will be a few more episodes of pining before they officially become a thing and live happily ever after

* ((Bonus points if Freddy Rodriguez voices Ed, Mas, and Menos. Double bonus points if they speak Spanish the whole time))

I agree with you that there is definitely something between Ed and Bart. They were given more time on screen than some canon couples (Jaime and Traci, Cassie and Tim, etc.) and they are always side by side. Anyway, someone noticed that at the beginning of episode 16 before Bart greeted his friends, he had been helping the center early and that he only accompanied Ed to receive the others. They had already seen each other early. The kiss or hug was not a greeting was an emotional gesture.

The “kiss” (or whatever that was supposed to be) was definitely something special :)

I wish we have seen them more because it wasn’t acknowledge what their relationship was compared to other couples. And with the two years time skip we didn’t see their relationship evolved either, as we did see sypermartian and spitfire in season 1: meeting to their first kiss. But here, we’re in the middle of the events and getting mixed signals: love tropes but calling each other amigo/friend (in each other language to be sure the other has a memo). That’s why I HC their relationships as pinning for each other or closeted couple in a previous post. But I wish closeted couple in the show doesn’t mean closeted to the viewers because it’s really frustrating... And honestly, finding a rational interpretation gives me headaches xD

So let’s hope to find more in season 4 or in the tie-comics! :D

Wonder Woman and Aquaman are both pansexual trans deities.

Hal Jordan is a closeted gay who slowly came out with the help of a bisexual Barry Allen and sapphic Jessica Cruz. Kyle Rayner is similar—Donna Troy, a lesbian, helped him figure things out.

All Martians are genderfluid and demisexual.

Starfire is polysexual and nonbinary.

Roy, Oliver, and Dinah are all bi. Roy and Oliver are the certified Disaster Bis™ and Dinah has their brain cell. Emiko Queen is a lesbian, Mia Dearden is an HIV-positive demigirl, and Connor Hawke is an asexual homoromantic. Their arrows may be straight, but their family sure isn’t.

Ted Kord and Michael Carter are husbands.

All the Atoms are ace and they adopted Billy Batson as their Baby Ace™.

Zatanna is an out and proud lesbian with a side gig as a drag king. Likewise, Constantine is gay and is a drag queen at Z’s shows.

Like I said before, all Kryptonians are pan. I’m also gonna add that Conner Kent is a demiboy who gives gender roles the finger.

Kaldur’ahm, Eduardo Dorado Jr., Natasha Irons, and Traci 13 are all canonically gay/lesbian.

And don’t forget another canon gay: Miguel Barragan.

Wally is bisexual and Artemis is demisexual.

Later on, Jai West comes out as bi and Irey West as a chapstick lesbian.

Technically Harley and Ivy are villains/antiheroes, but it’s more than canon at this point that they are girlfriends living it up.

Bart Allen is 100% gay. And, as a future boy, he doesn’t understand gendered clothing and will wear whatever he feels like.

Beast Boy doesn’t ascribe to any labels, saying that “there’s plenty of my lovin’ to go around”. Meanwhile, Raven is demiromantic and is fine with either she/her or they/them pronouns.

Lucy Quinzel is gender-nonconforming.

Cyborg is a demi-guy who goes by he/him or they/them pronouns.

Jaime Reyes had a hard time coming to terms with his bisexuality because of his religious upbringing, but he learned to embrace his identity with a little help from his friends. Also, Khaji Da goes by literally any pronouns.

Katana is a homosexual aromantic.

The Gotham and Central City Rogues are the personification of “be gay, do crime”.

Virgil Hawkins is questioning because he accidentally developed a crush on Tim Drake.

Tye Longshadow also may or may not have a thing for Tim.

Both Jon Kent and Colin Wilkes have a crush on Damian Wayne. Neither made any effort to hide it and yet Damian still hasn’t noticed.

Maya Ducard uses “lesbian” as an umbrella term even though she experiences attraction to all kinds of people.

Throughout their teen years, Milagro Reyes had a hopeless crush on Lian Harper.

Cassie Sandsmark is ace.

Poly Relationship ft. Eduardo, Bart, and Jaime

AN - I just. Love these three. I shipped BluePulse when it was getting more prominent, I shipped GoldenFlash pretty much as SOON as I saw more then .5 seconds of screen time together (lol), and I just think that having 2 slightly more responsible partners is good for Bart ^-^ And you, ofc, but that's not important (jk)

Where to begin

Bart instigates a lot of things in the relationship

Kissing

Cuddles

Dates

Noth that the other two don't, but Ed and Jaime *typically* plan them out better

Bart is just sporadic

He gets an idea for a date?

Guess what! As soon as lunch is over, y'all are headed to a movie!

Jaime has to deal with the scarab, and now all of you do now, too

Kaji Da sends him an intrusive thoughts and Jaime sometimes just. Blurts out a response

You've figured out by now when Jaime's talking to you guys or the scarab

Ed likes flirting

All of them do, but

Semi-casual arm over the shoulder as he asks for your thoughts on one of his new metateens' cases

Taking you to STAR while the others are on missions so you're not alone

Doing his best to ensure that you have a good relationship with his dad

(As long as you're treating him and any of the metateens right, he loves you already)

On that front, they all want their families to like you!

Barry and Iris are just glad that Bart's happy

And the twins love you!

Jaime's parents don't know for sure..

But Miligro has given you the Sibling Talk™

She still adores you, but don't you DARE hurt her big brother or his boyfriends!

Lots of lunch dates

As I said earlier, Bart typically 'plans' a lot of dates

But it's a good way to ensure you all get to spend time together

Bart will eat anyone's leftovers

If you're a picky eater, they can always find a place you'll like

Our speedster has probably eaten at EVERY restaurant anywhere he frequents, not just because of his metabolism, but because they just. Didn't exist in his future

He just wants the experience!

And ofc you're all happy to accommodate each other's needs

Sometimes Ed and his dad still fight

If he comes to you guys angry, it's either cuddle time or alone time

He's good at vocalizing it; doesn't want to snap at anyone for something that isn't their fault

We love growth ^-^

Jaime probably is the most in tune with you

The scarab *can* be helpful sometimes!

If you're upset and hiding it he'll still check in with you, make sure you're actually okay

One more for Eddie..

He left STAR because of the mistreatment he and his new friends were experiencing. He hates seeing any injustice in the world; it's wy he became a hero

If you ever experience discrimination or bullying for any reason, ofc they're all there to help you, but Ed is an instigator; he may dive into the issue with his heart instead of his head

It's weird to say be careful in such situations, but it's always good to have either Bart or Jaime there when you let Ed know what's going on

You're all there for each other, all the time, no questions asked

Again, this is just my opinion, it shouldn’t have any affect on yours. I’m not asking or trying to change you opinions or perceptions of the character in question! You continue seeing/ perceiving this character however you like! After all, if we all see the character the same way (that is kind of boring). And you know what, I’ll just say it now. If the character in question is one you care about deeply, don’t read below the line! Simple as that! I don’t want any hate for my honesty.

CHARACTER: Bart Allen

Why I like them

LITERALLY EVERYTHING! BART ALLEN IS JUST AMAZING! HE IS SO COOL! Gosh I just, I could honestly write over a million good things about this amazing speedster.

Why I don’t

THERE AIN’T A SINGLE REASON I DON’T LIKE BART ALLEN. The closest thing I have ever come to feel that represented any unpleasant feelings in relation to Bart Allen, is the way some of the comic book artist’s draw him. He is a straight up babe and some of the artists get it so wrong. But that literally has NOTHING to do with Bart himself. Actually I thought of one more thing, but again, this has nothing to do with Bart. I kinda think Meloni should have just named him Bart, not Bartholomew. Speaking of crappy naming conventions, I hate that YJ gave him the title Kid Flash, he is Impulse! It takes away from his identity! Sorry, but he deserves to continue building on his Impulse identity.

Favourite episode

That’s a tough one since he is just the pure essence of all things good in this world… Probably the one where Bart and Jaime are in the El Paso desert. They are blowing up rocks and having the best of times. I’m terribly ashamed I can’t remember the name of the episode. I can literally remember every line of Bart Allen’s dialogue but I couldn’t tell you which episode any of it belonged to?

He is gay and I’m pretty sure this is basically canon in all our hearts anyway (the only time I’ve seen people say otherwise was in this BRUTAL reddit chat which I think she should be wiped from the internet personally). And YJ appears to be delivering on making Bart gay canonically anyway… just with the wrong people. GRANDON… OH HOW YOU HURT ME. I should stop watching the show lol, but I won’t, I need Bart Allen content in my life.

Unpopular opinion

OOF gonna receive some ALOT of hate for this one… I don’t believe Bart has ADHD or autism tbh. I don’t think ANY of the speedsters do. Of course it would SEEM that way to non-speedsters, and I totally get why people stan for it. I just think that the trait of being impulsive or having a seemingly infinite amount of energy to burn, doesn’t mean he has it. I do see why it makes him a candidate for representation though. I do think Bart however has PTSD from his time with the Reach and suffers nightmares because of it (sorry Bart). And I know in my heart he is gay lol. And I defs stan for him being VERY extra, and talking too much and loving to be loud (and he’s just so adorable like that). So I’m not saying I don’t think any representation should be attached to him, but there are certain ones I prefer for him and my perception of his character (based on the materials I have consumed). Another thing that bothers me - and you will see this across ALL characters I ever talk about; is when people try to attach too many representations to a single character. I think it’s kind of derivative and takes away from the individual elements when you cluster a character with ten different kinds of representation. But that’s just me. I don’t have a problem with representation (I belong to several different communities myself), and am fortunate enough to have a lot of unique and AMAZING friends who belong to some of the same categories as me, AS WELL AS different ones too. I hate shows that refuse to acknowledge anything other than the “standards”. I think the world is more colorful place because of these communities, no that was not an pride pun. And I will reiterate, this is just my opinion, it shouldn’t have any affect on yours. You continue seeing perceiving Bart however you like!

I have no motivation to even attempt to do the posts I intended to - so here’s a random Ed headcanon that’s been in my head for weeks…

After seeing Gar in ep.11 - in a state which is signalling a lot of red flags - it is Ed who gets in touch with Perdita - because they are obviously besties after their little convo at the Harvest Festival (you cannot convince me otherwise). Ed tells her that they’re all worried about Gar - but he won’t let any of them in - and Perdita is like - say no more Eduardo, I’m on my way. And that’s what she does because she’s awesome and we love her.

Requested by @lina-lovebug: Eduardo Jr. x Tamaranean! Fem! Reader imagine. He has a crush on her but can't tell cuz of how friendly she is with everyone. But after she starts to protect him in battle, using her war training to the MAX, leave him bracelets and gifts she made herself, acting more nervous around him. He asks her what it's about and she gets rlly nervous cuz in her custom, she's courting him. That means she wants to marry him. He's flustered and suggests they start with a date, she kisses him with a happy nod.

A/N: I hope you don’t mind but I changed up the ending a little bit, but just a teensy, tiny bit.

When Eduardo was travelling from Argentina toward his father and before he was abducted, he met many people while trying to hitchhike and get closer to the US.

The strangers that he met would always describe him oddly, like he was a different human because of his race. It was never negative things, luckily, but they always used words like ‘exotic’ and ‘unique’.

They used it so frequently to the point that he got annoyed hearing it, while they expected him to smile at the compliment, he was resisting rolling his eyes at them. Seriously, couldn’t they find any other word?

He swore that he would never use that word because it was so irritating to hear and if it came out of his own mouth, he might as well punch himself in the face.

However, looking at you, it was the only word that could come to mind. You with your bright hair and glowing eyes and power, it was one of the words that seemed to define you accurately.

In his defines, you were from outer space.

Ever since you arrived on Earth, Ed was infatuated with you. It might have been your beauty that got his attention, or your power in battle but everyone else agreed that his crush began the second you had kissed him when you landed.

"Who are you?! And why are you here?”

You replied in a language that they couldn’t understand before getting into a battle stance and raising your glowing fists at them, with your face contorted in aggression. They quickly realized that you couldn’t understand them and backed away, trying to show you that they mean no harm.

“Why don’t you just lower your weapon now?”

Once again you replied using foreign words and they watched as you sighed, letting the energy in your hand fizzle out once they got a safe distance away and you stepped closer to him.

Eduardo’s first instinct when you came near him was to teleport away but his eyes locked onto yours and he saw the pure exhaustion in them. So much so that he actually thought you might faint.

So, ignoring his brain telling him otherwise, he stepped closer, with the intention to catch you if you managed to fall.

But he was beyond surprised when your arms wrapped around his neck and you captured his lips in a kiss. You moved your lips lightly against his before applying more pressure that made him dizzy and he briefly thought of pushing you away but he felt your breath flutter against his eyelashes and the thought blew away with the wind.

You pulled away after a few seconds, acting completely nonchalant, as if you hadn’t just stolen his first kiss but his head was still spinning. He didn’t know who you were, or even what your name was, but he wanted to kiss you again.

“Uh...do you know her?” Asked Bart awkwardly, having seen the whole thing and he was completely stumped. It was only then Ed realized what had happened and his cheeks got warm in embarrassment that you managed to make him forget with just a kiss

“You are bilingual.” You said, smiling and gently touching your lips and he melted on the inside. This was so out of character for him. It was so out of character to get so distracted by some foreign beauty. Flustering people was his job.

Any sense he had flew out the window when you sent them a wispy smile, “Now, what were you saying?”

Yep. Exotic. That was the only word that he could think of.

If the rest of the team thought that his attraction to the beautiful, powerful foreign girl would fade away in time, they were horribly mistaken because his attraction for you only solidified into genuine feelings as you continued to spend time together.

He spent most of his time either training with you, on missions, or teaching you things that would better integrate you into society. The day he had to explain to you that kissing was not a method of linguistic exchange here was one of the funniest of his life.

But his crush remained unrequited and one-sided. Everyone else was convinced that you happened to feel the same way for him but he disagreed. You were just extremely friendly and naturally flirtatious. He noticed that after a long time of ‘observing’ you.

He thought he had you all figured out, but it was the things that he didn’t notice that was the base of the teams’ suspicion of your crush on him as well. It wasn’t just the fact you always spent time around him and always found some excuse to be close to him.

It wasn’t because you were obviously most comfortable with him and felt more comfortable to make mistakes around him even though you tried to impress him with your skills and fighting styles that you learnt back in Tamaran.

No, it was the way that you went out of your way to protect him and make sure he was safe in battle. They hadn’t really noticed it before, until Ed had gotten knocked unconscious in a crossfire and you lost your temper, practically annihilating what was left of enemy fire with your energy blasts.

Never had they seen such power or force come from you. You always held back because you knew that humans didn’t have the resilience and endurance that Tamaraneans did but you all but seemed to forget that and continued to blast them one by one until they were all on the floor.

Any gentleness had been wiped out and you fought like it was war.

They were expecting you to get what they had been sent to retrieve and finish the mission after eliminating their offense but you flew back to the battlefield, getting Ed out of there and placing him into the Bio-ship with care.

Only when you were completely sure that he was safe, you raced back and grabbed the artifact, completing the mission.

The team was still reeling at the brutal take-down as the ship launched and flew into the atmosphere but once you collapsed onto the ship’s floor, sweating panting, they realized what had gone wrong.

You over-exerted yourself and put your well-being in danger, trying to get Eduardo to safety. So, once he regained consciousness, they all tried to convince him to ask you out on a date.

“Hey, (Y/N), can we talk?” Ed asked, lightly knocking on your door that you left ajar. You looked up at him from your place on the bed and smiled, welcoming him into your room.

Your grin only widened when you noticed the ring that was around his finger. It was one that you made from a piece of the necklace that had been given to you by the royal family. It took great time and effort and you were glad that he liked it enough to wear it.

You had given it to him nearly a month ago and he refused to take it off, only removing it for missions because he was afraid that it would somehow break or that he’d lose it in battle. Other than that, however, he was always seen wearing it and it make you so happy that you continued to leave him gifts.

“Um, well I just wanted to ask...something.” He mumbled, quite embarrassed and he couldn’t seem to look you in the eye. You noticed the way he was stammering and grabbed his hand, gently intertwining your fingers and rubbing your thumb across his knuckles before running over the ring once.

“Is something the matter?” You asked curiously, a frown making its way onto your face and he shook his head, chuckling at you.

“Nothing’s wrong. I’m just nervous to ask you something is all.”

“You have nothing to hide from me, Ed.” It was the sound of his name coming from his mouth that made him want to hold you and kiss you. All the longing thoughts that he had been pushing away for so long had bubbled to the surface and he took a deep breath before taking the plunge.

“Would you like to go on a date with me?”

“A date?”

“Yes, like dating me.”

“Like courting?”

“Yes, exactly.”

Ed felt his heart drop into his stomach when he saw the frown on your face. He could feel his heart tearing in his chest as you thought over the next few words, trying to put together the next sentence.

“I don’t understand......I thought we were already courting?” You told him, confused and his brows furrowed.

“I think I would have remembered that.”

“You’re wearing the ring I made for you. Wearing a gift from your significant other is a common sign of marital status.” You told him and he felt his face heat up at the look of purity and innocence in your eyes.

“M-Martial status?”

“Don’t you court each other before getting married?”

Now he couldn’t even process words anymore. He just sat on his bed, staring at you and hearing the blood rush through his ears and his heart beat wildly in his chest.

Looking at him so unprepared and confused made you finally realize what was going on and your shoulders sank, a frown forming on your face and you pulled your hands from his, putting some distance between the two of you.

“I’m sorry, I misread your signals and misinterpreted your feelings. It’s okay if you don’t feel the same way.” You muttered, running a hand through your hair. It was embarrassing. You had completely forgotten that this was a tradition on Tamaran and he had no idea of your culture.

“No!” Your dejected face got him out of his trance and he reached quickly to grab your hands between the two of his and looked far into your eyes.

“I feel the same way for you, (Y/N), I just didn’t know it was part of your culture, I’m sorry for making you think that.”

Your breath stuttered and you felt him come closer towards you and wrap an around your waist, bringing you towards him until you felt his body press against yours.

“Since you showed me a way of confession of Tamaran, let me show you one from Earth.” He muttered lowly, before kissing you soundly. Your arms wrapped tightly around his neck as his head tilted. It could have been hours that passed with his lips on yours and when he pulled away, the two of you were still feeling fuzzy.

A shy smile made its way onto your lips, “We’re going to get married?”

He chuckled, nervously scratching his cheek, “How about we go out on a date first?”
