* “Do you ever get the feeling like we’ve met before?” You ask, Edward looks up from his microscope, an eyebrow raised. “You know, like before we met, like maybe you saw me on the street or something.”

* Or maybe in a dream when you were still a human, only I had glowing red eyes because apparently time isn’t linear

* “I think I remember seeing you in my dreams a handful of times.”

* You nearly stop breathing, but then you see a mischievous smile curled on Edward’s mouth and you deflate in relief

* Oh, he’s just flirting

* “I’m being serious, when we met did you get the feeling that you’d see me before?”

* “I’m going to be honest with you (Y/N),” you suck in a breath. “I’ve never seen anyone like you before.”

* Huh?

* “Even back then I thought you were adorable, not a lot of cute vampires around.” He mumbles absentmindedly, fidgeting with his microscope

* “What are you talking about?”

* He looks up, eyebrows threaded together

* “Well your face.” He says simply, and now it’s your turn to raise an eyebrow

* “Yes, what of it?”

* “Well it’s so soft and round.”

* What is that supposed to mean?

* Edward tilts his head at your perplexed expression

* “It’s not a bad thing, I think it’s adorable really.” Oddly enough, you don’t feel adorable right now, and it’s not hard to guess why. “It’s just most vampires get…sharper I guess.”

* Oh

* That… makes sense.

* Every vampire you know, even Edward, has these sharp features. The chiseled cheek bones, sharp eyes, carefully sculpted noses. By comparison…maybe you are a little softer.

* You look in the distorted reflection on the metallic table

* You just look like yourself

* Sure, your skin is clearer now - there’s no occasional acne or texture, your nose is a little straighter, maybe smaller, your eyes a little wider

* But it’s just the smallest of tweaks, a way for you to see yourself the way you always have in your mind.

* It’s still you, completely human you.

* “Hey,” Edward’s hand cup your face gently tilting your face up so that your eyes meet his. “Trust me, it’s not a bad thing.”

* His thumb caresses your check, and you have to fight the smile curling onto your lips

* “This feels very much like a backhanded compliment.” You’re only teasing, but you nearly him when his other hand cups your cheek, squeezing affectionately.

* “You have no idea how much I love this face.” His fingers trace the edge of your face, “the shape,” then soft skin underneath your eyes, “and these puppy dog eyes that you only need to flash to get everything you want.” You laugh but Edward’s fingers continue, ghosting over your lips.

* “And these lips that say the most outrageous, but beautiful thing.”

* You can feel it, the natural build up to a kiss, you keep your eyes closed, but instead of your lips you feel his lips press against your forehead.

* “You’re beautiful, the most beautiful person I’ve ever seen.”

* You feel your heart flutter in your chest as you eyes meet his

* “So you’re saying you haven’t seen Rosalie?” You ask and he laughs

* “Rosalie has nothing on you, at least not to me.”

* You feel your mouth wobble and you carefully wrap your arms around him, snuggling your head into his chest.

* He squeezes back, pressing another kiss into your hair.

* “You’ve been awfully affectionate lately.”

* “That’s rich coming from you Edward.” He laughs and shrugs.

* “I’m a touch starved one hundred year old vampire,” he shrugs, moving back to his microscope. “What’s your excuse?”

* You feel your mouth go dry

* ‘The girl from Thebes and Marcus happened’ you think

* Being a vampire you’d thought you had all the time in the world, but it’s only after seeing Marcus that you realize how precious the time you have is

* But you can’t exactly say that.

* “Speaking of old things, where did you get these notes again.” He asks, holding up Didyme’s notes

* “Can’t say.” You expect some pushback. At least a raised eyebrow, but Edward doesn’t offer you any skepticism, he just nods

* “Well however you got them they’re a godsend,” he murmurs, peering into the microscope before scrawling something down. “It’s almost frightening how accurate they are.”

* You shuffle closer peering over his shoulder

* “So what do you see in there?”

* “Well you were right to an extent, even though we’re both vampires our venom has completely different genetic components.” He pulls himself away from the microscope

* “According to the notes, and what I’ve seen, it’s some sort of parasite maybe even a variation of Fungi”

* “Mushrooms? The cause for vampirism, the earths deadliest predator is..mushrooms?”

* Edward feigns annoyance but the corner of his mouth quirks into a lopsided grin.

* “I’m just telling you what I see.”

* “So what, your mushrooms aren’t as resilient as mine?”

* “It’s more like they’re completely different,” he sighs glancing into the microscope again. “Your sample looks closer to what we might call ‘patient zero’ then mine.”

* You run a hand through your hair, honestly your still not over the mushrooms being the cause for vampirism

* “Well what else do you see?”

* “A lot.” Edward responds simply, his hands reaching for the notes.

* “For one it looks like it’s some sort of symbiotic relationship, they can’t live without a host and in return they extend our durability and life span.”

* “By letting us live forever?”

* “No,” Edward grins, like genuinely grins at you. “Fun fact - we are all aging!”

* How is that a fun fact?

* “Slowly, very very very slowly, but we are aging, it’s about one human second for a year.” He grins when he looks at you, and you raise an eyebrow “But your sample shows even more decreased aging, I’d say it’s about half a second.”

* “Cool so in a thousand years you’ll be eight minutes older than me.” Sarcasm drops from your tone but Edward only grins brighter

* “Did you do that math in your head right now? Has someone been practicing trig on their own when I’m not looking?” He teases and you roll your eyes

* “Can you stop being horny for science and tell me how this helps us find a cure?”

* “I haven’t gotten there yet.” He shrugs and you kick his chair

* “So you’ve just been nerding out about mushrooms and aging for the past hour ?”

* “Basically yeah.”

* You rest your forehead against your hand.

* “But, I do have a plan.”

* Well that’s promising

* “I’ll try to get some samples from Alice and Jasper since they were both turned by other people - Carlisle too but that one might be more than we can handle.”

* “Because we have to get it without him figuring out what we’re doing.” You mumble and Edward nods.

* “In the mean time I’ll look into anti-fungus medicines.” He sighs, his fingers rubbing his eyes. “Carlisle would have been a big help right now.” He murmurs

* You place your hand over his

* “I know.”

* He smiles back, his hand turning to hold yours

* It must be hard for him

* Edward’s told you more than once that the second Carlisle turned him, he was like his son - so this is kind of like keeping a secret from his favorite parent for him.

* You can’t relate, you see Alec as more of a kid brother or goofy friend you occasionally get into trouble with

* And you have no problems at all keeping secrets from people -

* You look at Edward’s face, the easy smile that twirls on his lips when his eyes meet yours

* Well maybe you mind keeping secrets from one person

* “I guess I don’t mind, it’s like a secret only the two of us share.” He whispers, his fingers tucking a stray piece of hair behind your ear

* You smile back

* “We even have our own secret base.” The lab he built underneath your barn is pretty impressive

* He smiles squeezing your hand

* “Speaking of places,” you suck in your breath, you’ve been a little distracted lately so your relationship hasn’t progressed much lately, but you haven’t forgotten that last conversation you had with him

* ‘I’ll make all your fantasies come true’

* It should be illegal to say things like that and then not act on it for a month

* But now you have this secret room that no one knows about, that’s far enough that no one would hear, and -

* “Aren’t you supposed to be prom shopping with Jessica and Angela right now?”

If you were a chubby Ice magic sailor guardian in love with Edward Cullen❄🦇

Edward would find you when you fainted, you were a sailor guardian whose powers were from Ice.

Edward wouldn’t exactly know you’re a sailor guardian at first it was only until Victoria and her gang showed up you protected him.

You would show your powers to Carlisle although he debated whether it would be dangerous if everyone else knew.

I can say Edward would admit “even though you’re not human, I still fell in love with you”.

Bella would be Jealous that Edward had bonded with you rather than her.

Alice would be delighted to have made a new friend; Rosalie wouldn’t trust you.

Jasper would be cautious, and Emmett would find you cool.

Emmett would probably be like “Sick, a chick with Ice powers”.

Esme would treat you like a daughter “My dear, you’re still a part of our family”.

Rosalie would probably go “I don’t trust her, she’s not one of us”.

Edward would usually glare at Emmett’s comments.

Bella stated, “It’s like Edward fell for a goddess, someone not from this world, he would travel to the end of the universe just to have her”.

Thinking about casual dominance with the Cullens

Carlisle makes sure you bring a jacket whenever you go out. You both could be halfway out the door and he’ll turn around just to go get one for you (not without a gentle scolding, of course)

Esme never lets you cook for yourself. She’s so excited to have someone to cook for. Plus, it allows her to make sure you’ve eaten well that day.

Edward keeps track of all your likes and dislikes. He can order for you at restaurants flawlessly and is not afraid to send the dish back if it’s not up to standards. It also lets him keep Alice’s party plans in check (after all, you can’t enjoy yourself if things are subpar)

Jasper has a hand on your waist at almost all times. He guides you through crowds and away from people he deems threatening. He’d also kneel and tie your shoelaces for you if they came undone. He doesn’t want you to trip!

Emmett is not about to let people disrespect you. If someone gets a little too passive aggressive in history class, he’s gonna call them out on it. Holds you close and glares at them in the cafeteria.

Alice picks your outfits. She insists she knows more about fashion than you and that you should listen to her expertise, but it’s usually just so you two can match. She’d even help you get dressed if you let her.

Rosalie helps take care of you. Makes sure you drink lots of water and brush your teeth every morning/night. She’d definitely give you a little “excuse me?” look if you say the routines aren’t that important (because taking care of you is important)

Carlisle Cullen

Being alive for just over 400 years tends to give one a good perspective on life and the bigger picture, and Carlisle sure has a pretty good idea of how all things pan out. So you're not interested in him? That's fine, Carlisle can wait for as long as you need to change your mind.

In the meantime, Carlisle will continue to maintain your friendship and continue to show just how hard he's worked to become the kind caring father figure he is. He knows you'll fall for him, eventually.

Esme Cullen

Obviously, she's not going to stop caring about you just because you don't return her feelings. But she might switch up how she shows her affection.

Rather than flirty winks and suspiciously candle-lit wine tastings, she'll back up to more traditionally motherly affections. Making sure you're eating right, baking cookies, etc. And of course, giving you homemade soup when you're sick is still one of her favourite things to do, no need to stop now.

Rosalie Hale

She's a little relieved actually. All her mortal and immortal life, Rosalie has been aggressively pursued by people she wasn't particularly interested in, so the fact that she can crush on someone who isn't really that interested is a wonderful change of pace.

For the first time ever, Rosalie has butterflies in her stomach, she fumbles with her words when she speaks to you, and she feels like a silly, mortal teenage girl again, begging her mother to let her go to the dance just so she can sneak away to catch a glimpse of someone just like you.

Emmett Cullen

You and Emmett had been good friends for a while so when he casually drops a blissful "We should get married" into the conversation, you initially choke on your drink in laughter.

Emmett's a little heartbroken that you'd laugh at something like that, considering that he was being 100% serious. But since you've known him, the both of you have been constantly cracking up jokes, trying to get on each other's nerves, so no wonder you thought this was another one of his pranks. He decides to take this reaction as a blessing, you have no idea he's actually into you, now he knows he has to work out a different way to confess his feelings for you.

Alice Cullen

She's a little confused obviously, having multiple visions of the two of you in a romantic relationship kind of gave her the impression that it might've been going to come true, but your disinterest says something else altogether.

But the worst part is that those damn visions of you and her together keep coming back, taunting her, luring her in deeper to despair with the thoughts of what might be. It's all getting so intense, so she decides to skip town for a bit, see if that changes anything, or at least helps her clear her head.

Jasper Hale

Oh well, so you're not interested in a romantic relationship, so what? Doesn't mean you can't still be friends. Doesn't mean he can't be the charming Southern gentleman he is. Twilight Saga Headcanons - What They Smell Like

The Cullens:

Carlisle takes great pride in his grooming, but tends to go for scentless soaps because some of his patients have allergies. Always somehow smells a little like disinfectant when he gets home after work. He somehow smells very ancient, like incense and a scent you might discover walking through an extremely old and dusty church.

Everything about Esme smells delicate. Her favorite scents as a human were floral and light, like lavender and rosewater. Definitely has an aroma of perfume that trails after her, though she doesn't wear any.

The only way to really describe Edward's scent is clean. Icy cedar, fresh snow, and oranges. It's a pure, subtle scent.

Rosalie's scent is arguably the most powerful. It isn't strong, but it's enticing. It's like warm Tennessee Whiskey and dripping honey - a scent that's designed to seduce and draw you in.

Emmett would absolutely smell like Axe body spray if Rosalie would let him wear it - she doesn't. It stings EVERYONE's noses to an insane degree. Overall, though, Emmett smells like warm velvet, like a blanket you've just pulled out of the dryer.

Even after all this time, Jasper still carries the faint scent of gunpowder. There's something about his scent that stings, like mint and eucalyptus.

Alice smells like salt and coconut, like a sweet and windy beach day. She also carries a light scent of sparking ozone, but it's so faint that sometimes they all forget that it's there.

Wolf Pack:

Sam assumes he smells so much like food because of the many hours spent in Emily's kitchen. Sam is warm honey mixed in with steaming oatmeal; fresh bread and maple syrup.

Jared used to smell like leather because of the jacket he always wore to school, but that was destroyed years ago when he phased. It's an extremely manly scent mixed with vanilla and amber.

Paul's scent is very warm and spicy, a natural and earthy woodsy musk, like the soil after a heavy rain. It can tingle your nose, but it's still very attractive.

Surprisingly, the one who smells most like the outdoors is Embry. His whole body is tied to the scent of patchouli and pine; it's a very nature-based scent.

A lot of Jacob's scent is mixed in with how much time he spends around cars, so you'll get a whiff of rush and metal and probably motor oil, but it isn't unpleasant or off-putting.

Tobacco is the leading scent for Quil, which he assumes is because of his grandfather. He also smells very much like ginger and cinnamon.

Though she's never been a big reader, Leah smells like old books and paper. It's a bit of a dusty scent, but goes well when mixed with her favorite vetiver lotion and body wash.

Seth has a very bright and welcoming smell, like cinnamon sugar or a freshly baked pie crust. It's a smell you somehow always associate with your childhood, but you can't put your finger on exactly why.

If a version of Midnight Sun existed for each following instalment of the Twilight series (New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn), what do you think they’d be called/what would you call them and what (new) scenes would be in them?

Anon, you speak my greatest dream. I want this in my life. If no one else does, then I am the sole person who does. If there is not one person who wants this, it means that I have died.

I need this.

But for now, I can only imagine (and no doubt fail miserably to what it would be in actuality).

New Moon

The thing is that Meyer would also want to call this New Moon for the reason that she called it New Moon for Bella: this is a book about hopelessness. Edward leaves, Bella's soulmate, she literally cannot survive without him and this book is her discovering "oh, yeah, I literally cannot survive without him" (and making friends with Jacob but let's be real Meyer was never that into that).

It's a book where the moon, the light, is gone.

For Edward, we have the same narrative, he tries to leave Bella for her own good, fails, has a miserable time, and comes crawling back only to find that he's made everything worse.

But because Edward is more dramatic, and to thematically work with Midnight Sun (named thus as Bella is the unexpected sunlight in what should be the darkest of Edward's nights) we have Polar Night which is the phenomenon opposite of Midnight Sun where instead of the sun never setting at all we have the night never ending.

As for what would be in it. My friend, my beautiful friend, everything would be in it.

We'd get the scene where Edward bullies his family into leaving, many of them having reservations, and then steals all Bella's photographs and tries and fails to steal the stereo out of her car. We'd get scenes of Edward fantasizing about Bella marrying and holding hands with MiKe NEWtoN and it being entirely too much for him. We get all of the birthday party, period, which from Edward's point of view would no doubt be insane.

We have Edward so fucking depressed that he feels he's bringing the family down and chooses to leave on the vague pretext of catching Victoria. Then he doesn't catch Victoria and loses her in Mexico but is so depressed he just keeps going south until he hits Brazil.

Where he stays, and per what he says to Bella (which is undoubtedly not the entire truth) he was fucking miserable and did nothing for months. Did he have a Hallucination Bella who told him not to eat human food because it'd make him sick? Did he write a rock opera about Bella Swan only to realize it didn't live up to real life and burn it in a fit of despair and anger? What about the family calling to check in? We know that happened, Rosalie could reach Edward and he answered, so did they just call and quietly try to ask if Edward's coming back home or not? You know? Anytime? Edward?

And then of course his pleading for death with the Volturi, being told no, planning his elaborate massacre-suicide before settling on good old suicide without any murder and Bella being alive and that whole debacle from his point of view including "OH NO OTHER MAN MOVED IN" when he realizes Jacob's... kind of... a thing...

Everything would be new in part because we see so little of Edward and given the insanity in Midnight Sun that was never in Twilight I can't even guess to what Edward got up to for months in Rio.

It could be fucking anything.

Eclipse

Or "Edward did a bad thing and is now very nervous" the novel. As for what it's call, this is less clear as we have to go with the sun/moon themes here, and Eclipse is already taken. If we're allowed weather related events maybe "Eye of the Hurricane" as there's a storm out there and this book is about Edward barely holding his shit together. This is his nightmare scenario in every way.

Bella has a new love interest, a friend she believes is platonic who is very interested in her, and worse, Edward actually does admire and is hands down in Edward's opinion the better man for her to be with. Bella's changed when he was gone and is now an adrenaline junky, what else about her has changed? How much did he miss? She's involved in werewolves who all hate Edward, for good reason, and want her to leave him, for good reason. Edward has discovered that he actually can't leave Bella, Alice was right, even though he wants to be that strong desperately. Bella got the family to agree to turn her and they'll do it, Edward's barely gotten her to agree to be turned by him instead, but she's hemming and hawing about marrying and committing to him and she wants him to bang him (which will likely lead to her death)

Edward is straight up not having a good time, bro.

So, we'd get Edward's insane plans to keep Bella and Jacob apart, his meeting Bella in the road after her looking like he'd love nothing more than to pull The Terminator where he chases her car down. We get Edward's increasing nervousness that Bella "wants to be with him forever" but "doesn't want to marry him" (which for Edward, understandably as he doesn't have Bella's background, is something that just doesn't compute). And there's Jacob, kissing Bella, warming her up at night, thinking very dirty things when Edward's sitting right there internally screaming.

And of course, offscreen things with the family, likely venting about the Denali who are leaving them to die because they won't let them kill the children Native Americans, wondering if they're all going to die in this fight, even more of the tent scene with Jacob (which I'm sure, somehow, I'm sure, got very homoerotic in there). Probably sobbing to Alice "I fucked up" and then hating Rosalie BECAUSE THIS IS ALL HER FAULT HISS HISS.

And of course, what we know he sees from Bree and perhaps the discussion with the family that Bella never got to be privy to.

And I imagine a lot of fantasies of Bella pregnant with Jacob's beautiful babies.

Breaking Dawn

I'm going to bow out for this one too, Meyer would want to name it that. Maybe we get "Hailey's Comet" or something, in that Edward has related Bella to a comet streaking across the bleak sky of his life and this is him learning to accept to be happy and perhaps good things are allowed to happen to him.

But anyways.

I mean.

We get Breaking Dawn.

We get Edward gearing himself up for sex and asking the family how to bang a woman. We know he did this. Canonically he confesses to Bella, in the weirdest manner possible, that he asked his entire family how to do it (and it made it clear that Carlisle didn't really approve and was pretty :/ and "don't do it" about all of it). We get the family probably watching Alice like hawks because they're waiting for her to tell them if Bella lived or died through intercourse. We get Edward interrogating the maid in Portuguese and god knows what they even said to one another but it had to be wild.

We get Edward planning Bella's abortion, the betrayal by Rosalie yet again, and then more planning of her forced abortion with Jacob and his opinion on Jacob turning from "respected rival" into "my only friend".

Then we get Edward's complete flip on Renesmee which must have been... I don't even know. But he'd be thinking she's the spawn of Satan before that (in the most Edward manner possible) and then that she's Jesus after that (in the most Edward manner possible).

Then of course there's "my son, Jacob" and honestly probably fantasizing about an adult Renesmee pregnant with Jacob's beautiful babies. Let's be real here. and just...

Look.

I can't predict this.

What we saw of Breaking Dawn was already insane and this would only be more so because it's Edward. There's so much we don't see as Bella pays 0 attention to the other vampires and to the family at large and Edward would just...

I have no idea.

It would just be madness.

This is how I think Renesmee looks like, and I don't mean it as a eewww stinky demon doll baby.

I think she would look like a literal doll, porcelain skin but with the little blush and rosy lips, unusual eye color, healthy hair and precious curls. And the way Rosalie (yes, Rosalie not Bella) dresses her wouldn't help with her blending in with a normal human child.

I think most people go for the horrible looking puppet on Twilight that they kinda forget how she's supposed to look like.

I don't care about Renesmee enough to hate her, she's a little creepy and I love that honestly, you go demon baby! terrorize everyone around you, girl!
