Yesterday we (myself, my mother, my father and my brother) decided to watch “John Wick 4″ as a family. Here are the best comments of the night.
Me: Dad, do you remember what happened in JW 3?
Dad: He went to the desert.
Me: Yes. Do you remember why?
Dad: ... Because Halle Berry left him there.
Me: Yes, dad. But why did he go?
Dad: ... I honestly have no idea.
***
Me (after watching a scene where a gun is explained to death): Is that even a real gun?
My brother (who loves guns): Yes. And did you know... (Goes on a long rant about said gun)
***
My mother: Oh no. He died... Was he in the other movies? (No spoiler, but yes, this character has been in every single movie so far).
***
My father: What the hell is this Table? Why they keep saying Table?
***
My father: How did the blind man get there?
Me: The same way John Wick fell from a building and survived.
My father: Well, that makes no sense.
***
My father and mother every time a new character appeared on screen: Was he/she on the other movies?
***
My brother: That’s actually a real type of ammunition called Dragonbreath!
***
My father: I didn’t like this movie.
Me: Great. So you won’t watch JW 5?
My father: Of course I will.

Question for all the dads (including Ozzie and Fizz), during movie nights who
-hoards the snacks
-talks too much during the movie
-plays on their phone and doesn't actually pay attention
-makes a huge mess while eating snacks
-asks a million questions during the movie
-sings along at the top of their lungs
Out of Husk, Angel Dust, Lucifer, Ozzie and Fizz…
Fizz would horde the snacks & make the biggest mess
Lucifer would talk too much & as a million questions
Angel Dust would be on his phone
And everyone (Husk) would be singing along to the movie if it was a musical
Husk would be the only one who would try to watch a movie as quietly as possible because he would get entranced by the movie’s plot

If you like wholesome adventure movies try - Strange World
Don’t watch the trailer, go to cinema blindly and be surprised!
It has a classic soundtrack that reminds of 90s adventure flicks like The Mummy or Treasure Planet and it has a great suspense. The world and creature design is unique and colorful. Most importantly - they are cute and funny!
The family dynamics are well-written and they feel like family. The conflict is also believable.
Most importantly it features the non-stereotypical gay main lead and the main message is - coexistence, not only with the world, but also others.
It is beautiful adventure and it’s less than 2 hours long.
Check it out in your local cinemas and take your family, or even younger siblings with you - this movie is one of the most fun 2022 Disney movies.

To be honest, it wasn't on our radar to see "Barbie". It wasn't even on our radar to see "Oppenheimer" even as the term "Barbenheimer" made its way into our awareness. In fact, the only next movie we have on our radar is "Wonka" that's gonna be our Christmas Day family movie this year.
So then Linzy sees "Barbie" and the very next Discount Tuesday we're sitting in a packed Crest Theater with the big bag of buttered popcorn that's the best theater popcorn.
Ever.
It's an interesting day, by the way, this day we go see "Barbie".
Why?
Because Kimmer's up in Edmonds/Mukilteo, Linzy's down in Seattle, I'm in Madrona for the day, and the Crest is in Shoreline. What we do, then, is we all plan to meet up at the Crest at 7 for the 730 showing. I leave work around 530, meet Linzy at the light rail station at 6. After the light rail, we grab a bus that drops us directly across the street from the Crest where we can see a line out the door, up the sidewalk, to the parking lot.
Whoops. Maybe we're here a little late.
Meanwhile, Kimmer's parked near the bus stop and we all walk across the street to the box office where we learn that the line out the door's for people who bought their tickets online. So we score our tickets right there, the girls head straight into the theater, and I get in the next line for the popcorn.
By the way, I did not wear pink to the event. I wasn't planning on any particular color, actually.
However.
Through my own peculiar habits of choosing what to wear in the morning with as little thought as possible, I wound up wearing all blue to the movie.
Seriously. Go figure.
As for the movie itself, there's a lot to unpack. I'll probably watch it again at some point (some point after Oppenheimer). It's fun to watch, definitely. It's filled with a lot of laugh out loud moments on top of a metric ton of nostalgia. It's creative as hell, great casting (did not see Rhea Perlman coming, for example), wonderful performances all around. Definitely a lot of social commentary that, in a nearly full theater, resonated with a lot of different people at different times according to their experiences... as well as lighting up universals that are obvious (of course) to everyone.
The stunning thing about the movie is how successfully it moves through tonal shifts including, in my opinion, the final scene between Rhea Perlman and Margo Robbie that transcends to an incredibly moving level: a combination, in its own way, of the final scene between Truman and Christof from "The Truman Show"... and that scene from early in Pixar's "Up" where the filmmakers take us through the relationship of Ellie and Carl without dialog or narration.
It was this purely emotional experience that only film makes possible.
😊

Sunday Six
It’s Steve’s pick for movie night and he brings Starman. John Carpenter. Joyce is bristling for the first 20 minutes, waiting for the inevitable body horror and has to leave the room when the leading lady gets shot.
“That’s a double-wide!” Eddie yells, “why does an alien dude get a double wide and I don’t?”
“I don’t think he’s going to be in it for very long,” Robin replies.
“Is this movie even PG?”
“It’s just kissing!” Steve argues, “The camera never pans any lower… though, admittedly, the kissing is going on for a bit long.”

Just had a movie night with my Ma' and Pa' and we finally watched a movie that my older sister has been recommending us for a while.
Knives Out has been on my to watch list since before my sister watched it, but I never found the time to watch it so today was a very special occasion after a very special and full day.
I enjoyed it a lot, as I was expecting, the thing that I wasn't expecting though was to discover who the assassin was this early on, it was very much hinted on my opinion, but the very interesting part for me was the journey of the characters, that one I loved.
It was a really pleasant movie night, I hope we'll get to watch the sequel soon!

TONIGHT WAS MOVIE NIGHT!!!!!
Tonight my family watched The LEGO Movie and I used my digital design skills to make this sign to hang on our white board outside the den! I'm starting to become quite the digital artist. Maybe I'll go into design! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I liked Wild Style and Cute Kitty and Benny so much! Emett was silly too. My kids had a blast watching it, but I did have to skip over the themes of socialism

Alexei: “I want to claim seat before it is taken! What else I throw to save seat?! You?!”
Melina: *watching the preview* “I don’t like film, Natasha.”
Natasha: “It’s not what we’re here to see ma, it’s a trailer.”
