Republicans would rather flash dick pics from Hunter Biden's laptop than talk about the millions of dollars Trump's businesses got from China and other foreign governments during his tenure in the White House.
The Trump-China scandal gives Fox News yet another chance to display its hypocrisy and bias.

The English disapproval of Mrs Damer's conduct came at a time when lesbianism was identified with foreign influences and with bohemian and artistic behaviour. Marie Antoinette, Queen of France, was named for 'sapphic orgies', the slur combining – in one inclusive accusation – anti-Gallicism, anti-women and anti-monarchy.

Cluster Munitions Diplomacy
Cluster
In a surprising twist of international diplomacy, the United States has decided to dust off the old and controversial cluster bombs, sending them as a special delivery to Ukraine. This decision, made amidst the ongoing conflict with Russia, has been defended with the kind of unwavering conviction that could only be found in the corridors of political power. The Biden administration…

The Comer killing.
March 20, 2023
The terms of the devil's bargain Kevin McCarthy had to strike in order to become House Speaker require him to accede to every whim and wish of the traitorous MAGA caucus. And, of course, that includes protecting Dear Leader Donald Trump from any and all accountability for his relentless law breaking.
So it comes as no surprise that the cowardly McCarthy raised no objection when the Oversight and Accountability Committee summarily decided to drop its investigation into whether (or rather how much) Trump illegally profited from his presidency through his Trump International Hotel (which has since been sold to a Miami-based investor group).
For years, Democrats had struggled to pry the relevant records out of Trump's former accounting firm, Mazars. Finally, a court ordered the firm to hand over documents showing how foreign governments used the hotel to gain influence with the Trump maladministration. Here's the New York Times on what was found.
In November, for instance, documents the committee received from Mazars detailed how officials from six nations spent more than $750,000 at Mr. Trump’s hotel in Washington when they were seeking to influence his administration, renting rooms for more than $10,000 per night.
But when Republicans took over the House, Mazars, despite the judicial mandate, stopped sending those batches of financial documents. Maryland's Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the Oversight Committee suggested that committee chairman James Comer of Kentucky (pictured above next to his white whale) was working with Trump's lawyers to halt the investigation. Comer , of course, denied the accusation even as he was, indeed, halting the investigation. Said Comer to the Times, "They’ve been 'investigating' Trump for six years. I know exactly what I’m investigating: money the Bidens received from China."
That's right, folks. Instead, Comer and the Republicans will be looking into whether President Joe Biden and his family (including daughter-in-law Hallie) were involved in some imaginary influence-peddling scheme in China, the country designated foreign enemy #1 by the MAGAverse.
In fact, at a press conference earlier this month, Comer even criticized a Trump-appointed US attorney for not prosecuting President Biden’s late son when he was still alive. That would be Beau Biden, who died of brain cancer in 2015. Naturally, Comer failed to specify what crime the younger Biden should have been charged with.
Uncovering some sort of scandal to pin on the Bidens that equals the shocking crimes committed by Trump has become something of an obsession with Republicans. Which is why they're always eager to euthanize any probe that might turn up more Trump criminality.

Election interference in Canada
New polling suggests the majority of Canadians want the federal government to call an independent inquiry into foreign interference in the last two federal elections, but still feel the country’s electoral system is safe.
Market research firm Leger surveyed 1,544 people between March 10 and 12, asking a range of questions about Canada’s electoral system and allegations of foreign interference.
The results suggest 71 per cent of Canadians feel the electoral system is safe, while 29 per cent feel it is not.
And the majority, 69 per cent of respondents, said they generally trust the results of elections in Canada. One in five said they do not trust the results, and another 11 per cent said they don’t know.
...
Allegations that China meddled in the 2019 and 2021 federal elections have dominated debate on Parliament Hill for weeks, following a series of media reports published by the Globe and Mail newspaper and Global News.
The reports, based on leaks from security sources, detailed allegations that China attempted to interfere to support candidates considered friendly to Beijing, and to ensure the Liberals won a minority in 2021.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced that he will soon appoint an “eminent Canadian” with a wide mandate to probe the allegations and make recommendations about what action the government should take next.
Senator Yuen Pau Woo questions whether a foreign influence registry might become “a modern form of Chinese exclusion,” and says angry reaction to his suggestion proves his point about racial profiling and stigmatization.
But some activists who were involved in campaigns to right the wrongs of Canada’s head tax on Chinese immigrants and the Chinese Immigration Act of 1923 — also known as the Chinese exclusion act — strongly dispute the comparison.

Sri Lankans have always adapted every foreign food that was ever introduced to the island. We like to stamp our own identity on them. And we are a nation that eats with our hands, so the gritty texture of isso vade [from the lentils] is very pleasing to Sri Lankans. We also have a culture of sitting outside for early evening chats with friends and neighbours, and vade gave us something to chew on as we did so.

“President Joe Biden ticked through several things that he needed to see Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu do immediately: open up the Erez crossing into northern Gaza and the port of Ashdod in southern Israel for humanitarian aid; significantly ramp up the supplies getting in through Kerem Shalom.
A person familiar with the Thursday call paraphrased Netanyahu as responding: “Joe, we’re gonna do it.”
But Biden wasn’t finished. The prime minister must announce the moves that evening, the president insisted.
By Thursday night, the Israeli security cabinet had approved those three measures to increase humanitarian aid entering the besieged enclave.”

Over half of anti-Heard tweets were bots or paid trolls, many linked to Saudi government bots.
"According to an investigation by Tortoise Media, which examined more than one million tweets, more than 50 per cent of anti-Heard messages in the run-up to the 2022 defamation case were "inauthentic' - either from automated "bot" accounts or people hired to attack the actress."
"Bradley Hope, author of a book on Bin Salman, told the podcast that the pro-Depp tweets emanating from Saudi Arabia appear to be produced by "flies", a name for Saudi bot accounts."
"An intelligence professional who tracks online disinformation campaigns, said there was only a "0.1 per cent chance" that the hate directed at Heard was from genuine Depp fans.
The investigation also claims that bot networks in Thailand and Spain tweeted large numbers of pro-Depp messages."
"...more than 100 Twitter accounts sent 1,000 identical messages at exactly the same time to any company that had worked with Heard, reading: "This brand supports domestic violence against men."'
"The makers of the podcast argue that the criticism of Heard could have affected the jury in the 2022 US defamation trial which found in favour of Depp."
"So, if you couldn't tell the difference between a real-life Johnny Depp fan and a bot in 2022, then you probably won't be able to tell a Russian troll from a US election official in 2024. And that represents a serious problem for the security of our democracies."-Alexi Mostrous, presenter of the podcast.
"Johnny Depp and the Saudi Embassy did not respond to Tortoise's request for comment."
