Eclipse: Today is Sunday, which means Lunar gets to tickle Blood Moon’s chub.
Lunar: *tickling the absolute life out of the twins and blowing raspberries on their belly as they squeak and squeal and giggle as a puddle of happy Blood Moon soup*
Eclipse: It is his favorite activity.

I saw a bunch of amazing witch/wizard hat but it's styled as a giant mushroom and I think Bilbo would give it to Gandalf as a nice gift (Post ID below!)
[ID: a digital coloured comic of galdalf and a middle-aged bilbo, smoking together. bilbo looks up at gandalf and says, “Gandalf, old friend, I have something for you!”
galdalf replies, “I don’t recall telling you my birthday, Bilbo.”
on the next panel, bilbo, holding a box with a bow, says, “Ta-da!” he’s grinning widely with his eyes closed.
gandalf, now also smiling with his eyes closed, asks, “My dear Bilbo! Is it more of your Old Toby!”
bilbo replies, “Even better! Go on. Open it.”
on the last panel, gandalf is wearing a hat that resembles a giant red and white mushroom. there are sparkles on either side of him. he says, “What a lovely hat. Well, how do I look?”
bilbo replies, with emphasis, “Splendid!” /end ID]

fellowship resume skills, ranked:
-boromir, has had good job experience and is very organized. great manager and team leader, really wants to work up the corporate latter. 8/10
-gimli, a little blunt but well qualified. resume is dense but well written. fantastic interview skills. 8/10
-merry, surprisingly well thought out. aesthetically pleasing and practical. a bit of a trust fund kid but wants to work hard. great interviewer. 7/10
-sam, great worth ethic, a little all over the place. has a very short resume but fantastic references. will not lie on resume at all. 7/10
-frodo, eh. not the worst but doesn’t stand out. uses bad fonts. bilbo helped to write most of it, stretched the truth a lil. 6/10
aragorn: pretty awful. passable, not good. spacing is weird and printer was running out of ink. miraculously, gets the job. 4/10
legolas: nepo baby. his dad always brings him the job applications. does not apply. bad at communication and almost always ghosts the interviewers. 1/10.
galdalf: has always worked here. no one remembers him applying or when he started. for a while people thought he retired. he didn’t, just stopped coming to work. started again 3 months later, without saying a word to anyone. came back in all white with a bad sunburn. probably went to miami. 10/10

I can understand why Elrond allowed Bilbo live in Rivendell, in his halls, around several others of grandeur, allowing Bilbo to creating poems, music and translating files from Elvish into Common Speech, about Ancient history, Tales and Legends.
Have you ever stopped to think that Bilbo made everything said about him come true, and even went further?
He proved to be “The thief wants a good job, a lot of excitement and reasonable reward” or “Expert Treasure-hunter”. He really was “the expert thief and even gives the dwarves some ideas or suggestions” (even more than expected, given that Thorin believed that the problems would only come from Lake-town, the same with Gandalf announcing that the problems would occur much earlier).
So Bilbo went faced Trolls, met and charm elves, found the One Ring, spared Gollum's life, confront spiders, freed the dwarves from the elven dungeons of Mirkwood, overcame his fears of heights, put the dwarves in barrels and he entered a river even without knowing how to swim, entered Erebor and stole from the dragon Smaug, then spoke to that dragon and discovered its weak point (information brought to Bard by a bird, without which he would not have been able to kill the beast). And then Bilbo even used the Arkenstone as a ruse to try to avoid bloodshed, even if it meant enmity with his dwarven friends, and even so he returned to the mountain to be on their side (Bilbo still considered himself friend and loyal to them, he just had the courage to go against them on something he believed they weren't right: not negotiating with others).
Bilbo was in the Battle of the Five Armies and came out alive, and in end he forgave Thorin (after Thorin almost threw him for dead). It was because of him (and Galdalf's) that an king returned to reign in Erebor (Dáin) and another king returned to Dale (Bard). So, There was friendship between elves, dwarves and humans in those parts, after their union in battle.
So Bilbo returned to Bag End, had to repurchase his possessions and was not well received by the other Hobbits, but he was not subjugated by The One Ring over the years, and he did not become lonely and elusive, on the contrary; continued friend to dwarves and elves and humans for years, adopt Frodo (which would change the future course of Middle-earth forever, since this adoption would determine the future Ring-bearer), taught Sam to read, welcomed Merry and Pippin into his home, who was liberal with money and helped the poor and needy, and threw lively parties with food and gifts for the entire Shire, and even after decades in possession of the One Ring he managed to give it up (albeit with Gandalf's help).
Yes, the same Bilbo who had in possession a blade of Gondolin, the One Ring, the Arkenstone, and the mail of Mithril at the same time. And in the end he was able to get rid of each of these things of so much value and power.
Yes, I understand why Elrond and other elves wanted him around.

Random SaMS Headcanons:
Sun eats solely gamer food like energy drinks, Mountain Dew, pizza, and Doritos
Moon has chronic pain and has made a cane that resembles Galdalf’s staff
Solar chews his fingers down to the endoskeleton when he’s stressed, thus why he wears gloves all the time.
Lunar has a potted basil plant named Jerry and a potted mint plant named Tom.
Earth can consume gallons of ice cream at once if she’s going through a stressful time.
Kill Code kidnaps abused/neglected kids from abusive homes.
New Eclipse purposely puts on long at fake nails and colors them himself just so he can be like 💅 checking his nails when people are talking to him.
Old Blood Moon has a skull collection from digging and finding them randomly.
New Blood Moon bites metal to calm down.
Servant Eclipse has ‘Wednesday Crystal Mukbang Day’, where he tries to record himself swallow as many crystals as possible before Lord Lunar finds out and tries to stop him. He has gotten to 521 once before Lord Lunar found out.
Lunara eats sheet metal and hacks up metal hairballs every third Sunday.
Lord Eclipse just randomly visits Solar to have a cry sesh and go home.
Lord Lunar struggles to keep Servant Eclipse alive because his brother is so clumsy he’s almost fallen into the Wither Storm hole at least once on a daily basis for years.
Old Moon whispers random shit like ‘the purple blood is on the concrete ceiling in a pentagram’ in New Moon’s ear while New Moon is sleeping.
Ruin bites people he feels safe with.
Jigsaw had a hidden stash of drugs in the daycare. The twins took this stash and ingested every bit of them before Jigsaw got cured and cried for hours because ‘the puppy in the ceiling was crying and whining and they wanna save the puppy but it’s so faaaaaaaaar’ while throwing a fit on the floor like a toddler.
Original Eclipse collected shiny rocks. Lunar inherited his collection, which takes up an entire two story three bedroom home sized bunker.
Feral Moon has one specific Sun plushie he can’t bring himself to maim that he cuddles every night.
Backup Eclipse used purple hair dye on his rays once thinking it might work because Sun considers it hair and he was having a mental breakdown. It did not work but it left purple ‘freckles’ on his rays.

I'm back from my five week trip to the South Pacific! It was AMAZING. It was such an adventure—there and back again! And because I relate EVERYTHING to Tolkien, the whole time I just kept thinking of the similarities between my adventure and Lord of the Rings. There were so many.
In Australia, I got to meet one of the experts in my field, who is very Galdalf-ish, white beard and all, and he is very well-traveled and on a first name basis with regional leaders.
And during my trip to Papua New Guinea, I was travelling with a man who is very Bilbo Baggins-ish: an accomplished author who has an adopted niece and is very eccentric with a good sense of humor.
We travelled to several different parts of Papua New Guinea, and I even had the chance to travel up into the Highlands—which is usually quite closed to the outside world—and I got to meet with people there, and see the beautiful landscapes, and learn about their ancient cultures. Those were the Elves!
And then we went to Solomon Islands, and I travelled with a man who was definitely Aragorn: a bit of a loner who spends a lot of time in the wilderness, who seems kind of rough around the edges but is very fond of poetry (and Lord of the Rings, as it happens), and his name literally means "hope" in the language of the country he comes from—just like how Aragorn was named Estel.
This Aragorn figure kept making fun of me for being short, so I'm fairly sure that I filled the role of Gimli on this trip.
And it just so happened that when I went to Indonesia on the way home, Krakatau was experiencing higher than usual volcanic activity, so that was definitely Mount Doom!
I think the other reason these countries felt like Middle-earth is because I only knew about them through reading books and newspaper articles. I've spent the last five years studying the Pacific Islands—their histories, their cultures, their politics, and keeping up with current events—but I didn't have a chance to go there, so they may as well have been fictional places.
But now I HAVE been there! It was so surreal and so wonderful to finally set foot in these countries for the first time—and learn so many things, and make so many friends!
And I may be going back in just three months!
