It's the heart eyes that do it for me. If there's one thing the live action is exceptionally good at - it's portraying the heart eyes the crew members have for each other.

So! NerdyKeppie is working on a test program to permit exchanges of our clothing for size/fit purposes. This will be a little long, so bear with me.
As most of you know, our clothing is produced to order. This approach is part of what permits us to offer most of our patterns in over a dozen different flags as a matter of course (currently: Ace, Aro, Bear, Bi, Genderfluid, Genderqueer, Gilbert Baker/8-Stripe, Lesbian, MLM/Gay Men, Non-Binary, Pan, Progress, Rainbow, Trans). If we had to carry stock, we would have to restrict ourselves to The Big Flags, simply as a matter of practicality. So, as long as we've been in operation, we haven't been able to offer exchanges as a matter of practicality. We had nowhere to store the returned items, and we didn't carry stock or have the ability to sell those returns.
But on the other side of practicality is the reality of shopping on the internet. While we do our best to provide sizing charts and good images, shopping online has a certain amount of risk to it, and that risk centers a lot on whether or not something fits.
We are looking at instituting the following change to our return/exchange policy:
Customer's first item exchange: NerdyKeppie pays return postage on your first item exchanged, and we'll file the replacement order with our manufacturer as soon as the exchange is confirmed. You must still return the item & may be charged if it isn't returned in resaleable condition. Exchanges must be requested within 15 calendar days of item delivery.
Customer's subsequent exchanges: On subsequent items, the customer pays the return postage to NerdyKeppie, and the replacement order will be filed when the item is received in resaleable condition. Exchanges must be requested within 15 calendar days of item delivery.
1. What happens if NK gets the item back and it isn't in resaleable condition (odor, stains/wear, shoes worn outside)?
You can pay to get it back from us if you'd like, but we can't exchange what you didn't return to us in good condition. If this is your first return, and we've already shipped your replacement, you may be liable for the cost of the 2nd item.
2. Can I return things and get my money back if they don't fit?
We'll be happy to help you with an exchange to find the right fit for you.
3. Can I exchange for a different item?
We may permit this in the future if this policy works out, but we need to start with exchanging only for size so we can see if this works, first. Too many variables make it harder to assess for us.
This policy is not yet in place; we are finalizing some logistics bits. :) Once it goes live, we will announce the length of the test period as well.

Any modern AU of Dungeon Meshi needs to acknowledge that Marcille would be ears deep in the most asinine shipping discourse. She is the pair the spares, my OTP only girlie. She has a ship chart for every piece of media she engages with in a matter of hours. She lives for drama and love triangles but also wants everything to settle into nice neat pairs of happy couples at the end no matter how tone deaf it is. She obviously has gay/lesbian ships but sanitizes them into the most conservative heteronormative domestic shit you can imagine regardless of how buckwild the story was. She ardently rejects the idea of any of her blorbos being bi or poly to a degree that makes it very obvious she's closeted and projecting.

A while ago I remember someone pointing out how Viv makes all of her “tops” bi/pan (Blitz, Ozzie, Husk, Chaz, etc.) and many (but not all) of her “bottoms” gay twinks (Angel, Stolas, probably Fizz? etc.).
She just liked a tweet basically saying Stolas and Fizzarolli are too feminine to ever like women which like, fair I can’t see either genuinely being into girls because they’ve never showed canon interest, BUT, I think it just continues fo prove the point she fetishizes gay men as “the woman” because they are solely attracted to men, and for some reason they’re all effeminate. Again, I love my femme bois, but Viv seems to refuse to believe gay men can be anything other than “twinky bottom” and bi/pan men as anything other than “dom protector.” Why can’t we also have a buff hyper masculine gay character, or an androgynous bi one?!? The fetishization and heteronormitivity is off the charts.
It might not be about fetish, but I think it’s a way to project onto male characters in a gay relationship as a woman. You don’t want any girls threatening the ‘bottom’ status, cause it’s a fantasy. And people have this idea that “if you’re a gay top why not just top cis women too? Any (redacted) is a goal!” And that is actually just homophobia. Like I refuse to believe she isn’t into her fair share of yaoi, and I’m not shaming her for that it’s nothing to be ashamed of. But tropes like that feed into your work. It happens to all artists and writers super into anime. The tops are masculine so attracted to femininity of any gender, all the men are into men, any men can be shipped together, and all the women are into men, but they get in the way and compete with the bottom. That’s your traditional yaoi formula.
It comes down to power, thinking attraction to men means submission to them, and attraction to women is about dominating them. This is why a basic level feminist education is so important. It can really help free you from being confined into concepts like this. Sometimes “gay is okay” “kink is so crazy and funny!” isn’t enough to leave that heteronormative conservative mindset. You have to go deeper.
Idk. To me Asmodeus is our buff masc gay, and Angel Dust is our fem bisexual. To me that makes sense.
Stolas is effeminate? How? He wears grey, red, suits, capes, all very typical royal wear. He’s not feminine at all he’s vibrant and masc, but just very pathetic and wimpy. That’s sortve okay for me, i feel stolas’ story makes more sense if he’s queer and is still questioning, Angel I don’t mind either way, fizz I think his story has more of a dark layer with the robots if he is gay. And probably had to pretend to be bisexual to cater to a wider market. He is the only one who’s shown discomfort/disgust at women coming on to him (if you count those gross robot clients) and good for him. Gay men deserve empowering stories too.
And do you also notice how…Angel is fine with sleeping with women for a twenty and has before, Stolas had to sleep with a woman, fizz robots are abused by women while conscious. The heck is that about.
How would Viv react to meeting a straight femboy I wonder. Do you notice how lesbophobic that is too? Liking women and not being feminine have zero requirement to go hand in hand. Some trans men are effeminate and straight. Some gay couples are fem 4 fem and masc 4 masc. There are femme 4 femme lesbians. That heteronormative way of thinking and obsession with monogamy is so Christian core and is so outdated.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They have to fit the fetishistic formula of twinky maiden and dom masc protector? Idk where you’re getting that anon /s

omg not u believing a quiz in a website made by a third party company solely for the purpose of a failed giveaway in australia that mixes up the movie and cartoon/doll continuities over an actual leaked bible from a huge 4chan (not reddit!) nickelodeon leak that matches up with stuff released after it that's firmly believed by all the trusted doll leak sources...
and what was that about twyla and venus?
Why is it y’all only have the guts to air your greviences to me on anon? I wont block you for disagreeing with me, I’m not sensitive or a wuss and I’m much more inclined to be polite to someone with a name and not a faceless nobody. Just an FYI.
An international branch of Mattel is a way more reliable source than Reddit & if you think it’s a flex telling me the “leaked show Bible” came from 4chan & NOT Reddit, BOY have I got some news for you about the legitimacy of 4chan.
Yes, the Live Action Movie & The Show have different canons… is there a point to that statement or are we just saying the obvious? Not everything is going to be quadruple confirmed in canon like Draculaura being Asian or Frankie being nonbinary (movie character, actor, TV character, voice actor) all things won’t be hammered in that hard so we gotta take what we can get and international monster high is fair game because Mattel has to approve everything they do.
That leaked show “Bible” is sketchy as hell & no Monster High enthusiast worth their salt has taken it seriously. If you know anything about children’s media there is a lot of language used in it that is not Nickelodeon appropriate and I’m not the only one who thinks so. We don’t know where it came from, who wrote it or who posted it. Y’all saw something that looks slightly official and ran with it and that my darlings is a fool’s errand.
Y’all need to be more critical of the information you consume and perpetuate. “You should believe in nothing that you hear and only half of what you see- Edgar Allen Poe.”
And we need to stop screaming theories as if they are canon. I PERSONALLY head canon Twyla & Venus as lesbians (not together, Twyla is obviously in love with Howleen) because UNLIKE Clawdeen who has shown an interest in boys in previous generations they have never shown an interest in actual boys as far as I know. (I also made a chart of Clawdeen being attracted to girls for equal measure) that is how I see them, I don’t go shooting off that, that is canon information.
I know a lot of you desperately want Clawdeen to be a lesbian, I am very, painfully aware of this head canon but it is just that! A head canon! Yes it’s a very popular & persistent head canon but it’s a head canon nonetheless. G3 Clawdeen appears to have a crush on Deuce, now we don’t have time to unpack that weird ass ship but it does rule out Clawdeen as a lesbian. It does NOT however mean she is straight! Clawdeen could very well be Bi or Pan or any other sapphic inclusive sexuality. I PERSONALLY see her as Bi (for the reasons stated above) but you don’t see me claiming it’s canon.
“But Jess! What about compulsory heterosexuality!” - Clawdeen was created by a gay man. Do y’all really think a member of the LGBTQA+ community would put her through something that was hell for so many of us!? I highly doubt it.
I do not make the canon, I just study and report the canon, if had my way everyone would be fatter, browner and gayer.
Please, for the love of your deity of choice: stop believing everything you read, always ask for a source and stop being so cool with people making fake leaks it’s not some fun new fad it’s intentionally misleading & a little cruel to those of us who aren’t so great at social cues.
Mattel makes the canon & if it’s not from Mattel it’s probably not real.

Queer Religious Songs
Tumblr media
I was interested to see the news that a song by the drag queen Flamy Grant was top of the iTunes Christian chart. I listened to the song and really like it.
There are many religious songs I like, but these queer ones speak to a part of me that the others don’t, they ask questions that are important.
1983 - Church of the Poison Mind : Culture Club - A religious gay man has found love, but because of what he was taught at church, can’t resolve his own feelings about being gay. The message is if you’re living in a culture distorted by prejudice, take a chance on joy–embrace love, whatever form it takes.
1987 - It’s a Sin : Pet Shop Boys - This song is about a person’s lifelong feelings of shame and guilt, presumably for being taught that being gay is a sin. For everything I long to do, no matter when or where or who, has one thing in common, too. It’s a, it’s a, it’s a, it’s a sin
1988 - A Little Respect : Erasure - In this song the gay singer is calling to a lover not to leave and asks the question, what religion or reason could drive a man to forsake his lover? So often the religions we’re raised in are anti-queer and people have a tough time breaking from the prejudice when they have their first romantic relationship
1991 - Losing My Religion : R.E.M. - Lead singer Michael Stipe had declined to address his sexuality, so when “Losing My Religion” came out, people assumed Stipe was coming out as gay. Consider this the hint of the century. Consider this the slip. It stands as a classic example of queer coding in the era of “don’t-ask-don’t-tell.” The song was interpreted as the struggle of a closeted gay man coming to terms with what his religion taught about gay people.
1992 - One : U2 - Bono explained that “It’s a father-and-son story. I tried to write about someone I knew who was coming out and was afraid to tell his father. It’s a religious father and son… I have a lot of gay friends, and I’ve seen them screwed up from unloving family situations, which just are completely anti-Christian. If we know anything about God, it’s that God is love.” Knowing it’s a gay son who is talking to his unaccepting dad, the lyrics really hit hard. Did I disappoint you or leave a bad taste in your mouth? And also these words from the chorus, We’re one but we’re not the same. Well we hurt each other then we do it again. It seems eventually the son decides to draw a boundary and remove his father from his life - I can’t keep holding on to what you got, 'cause all you got is hurt. I like that the lyrics say We get to carry each other, carry each other, we are different and may not agree on everything, but we choose to help each other, like it’s asking us to find ways to have our relationship work even though we’re different
1997 - You Have Been Loved : George Michael - George Michael wrote this song about Anselmo Feleppa, who died of an AIDS-related illness in 1993. While an intense song about grief and death, it also involves a spiritual struggle. Anselmo and his mother both say that God is not dead, George counters by challenging What’s the use in pressing palms, if you [God] won’t keep such love from harm? It’s a cruel world. You’ve so much to prove.
1997 - Together Again : Janet Jackson - The album notes include “I dedicate the song ‘Together Again’ to the friends I’ve lost to AIDS.” It’s a sweet song with hopeful words. Everywhere I go, every smile I see, I know you are there smilin’ back at me
2011 - Born This Way : Lady Gaga - Many songs hint at queer identities and acceptance by using metaphors, but not this one, it is direct. No matter gay, straight, or bi, lesbian, transgender life, I’m on the right track, baby, I was born to survive. The song is a real celebration of who we each are made to be. God makes no mistakes
2011 - We All Try : Frank Ocean - Frank Ocean sings of losing faith in mankind as the LGBTQIA+ community struggles to find acceptance. I believe that marriage isn’t between a man and woman, but between love and love, and I believe you when you say you’ve lost all faith, but you must believe in something. He reassures and offers hope to listeners and the LGBTQIA+ community that I just don’t believe we’re wicked, I know that we sin but I do believe we try.
2012 - Same Love : Macklemore & Ryan Lewis feat. Mary Lambert - Macklemore sings against the homophobia taught at church. When I was in church, they taught me something else. If you preach hate at the service, those words aren't anointed and that Holy Water that you soak in is then poisoned. The song concludes with Mary singing I’m not crying on Sundays, which I think means not letting religious intolerance and churches harm us anymore, not subjecting ourselves to those words anymore
2012 - Origin of Love : MIKA - Mika said this song “talks about my life, it talks about the church, it talks about falling in love and it talks about being happy and proud about falling in love with whoever you fall in love with, even if it’s a man. So in a way, this is my statement and my thank you to the man I love.“ To his partner he sings You are the sun and the light, you are the freedom I fight, God will do nothing to stop it.
Mika contrasts the goodness romance brings to his life with how the Bible introduces heterosexual relationships: Like stupid Adam and Eve, they found their love in a tree. God didn’t think they deserved it. He taught them hate, taught them pride, gave them a leaf, made them hide. Let’s push their stories aside. You know the origin is you
2013 – Take Me to Church : Hozier - The lyrics are against church-fueled homophobia and persecution of queer people, and instead Hozier finds meaning by worshiping in the bedroom. Many queer people can identify with these lyrics: Every Sunday’s getting more bleak, a fresh poison each week. "We were born sick", you heard them say it. Hozier explained that churches undermine humanity by teaching shame about sexual orientation by saying that it is sinful, or that it offends God. Hozier is an outspoken LGBTQ+ ally and the music video depicts two gay men being ripped apart by homophobic violence in Russia. It brought international attention to the anti-gay laws in Russia.
2015 - No Place in Heaven : MIKA - Mika is singing about how religion teaches there’s no place in heaven for gay people because the way we love is sinful. Father, won’t you forgive me for my sins? Father, if there’s a heaven let me in
2016 - Son of a Preacher Man : Tom Goss - This 1968 song gets a gay update. The video tells the story of two gay teens struggling to understand their feelings for one another while operating within the confines of an evangelical church.
2016 - Trash : Tyler Glenn - In response to the Nov 2015 Policy of Exclusion by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Tyler created this video denouncing the Church’s restrictive view of same-sex relationships. The pain and anger are so raw in this video, it hurts to watch. These lyrics are an indictment, that he’d repent his days away if we wanted him to stay, but we throw him out like trash. If this is God’s church then there should be room for ALL God’s children.
2016 - Shameless : Tyler Glenn - The video has an old man in a black suit & white shirt tied up to a chair as Tyler sings You judge, but I don’t give a damn. I live a life so shameless. He lists things he does shamelessly now that once he would’ve been judged for: porn, one-night stands, alcohol. Tyler has now left the church and is not letting old men in suits make him feel shame.
2016 - G.D.M.M.L. Grls : Tyler Glenn - Despite the best efforts by this gay man to make church work, it didn’t because God Didn’t Make Me Like Girls.
2016 - Heaven : Troye Sivan feat. Betty Who - Troye sings candidly about what it’s like for a religious teenager to come out as gay. Without losing a piece of me, how do I get to heaven? Without changing a part of me, how do I get to heaven? All my time is wasted, feeling like my heart’s mistaken, oh, so if I’m losing a piece of me, maybe I don’t want heaven? Troye explains “When I first started to realise that I might be gay, I had to ask myself all these questions—these really really terrifying questions. Am I ever going to find someone? Am I ever going to be able to have a family? If there is a God, does that God hate? If there is a heaven, am I ever going to make it to heaven?” The video features footage from LGBTQ+ protests throughout history.
2016 - Sudden Death (OMG) : Tyler Glenn - In this song, Tyler expresses the initial shock of his faith crisis. I never asked to fall from grace. Catch me I’m starting to fall! Don’t know what all this is for! Keep comin at me with your disrespect. You went and started a war. Now I don’t care any more. I keep on living like it’s sudden death.
2016 - Devil : Tyler Glenn - A song that highlights the conflict between religious belief and queerness. I found myself when I lost my faith and not being able to pray the gay away. The constant in his world, what he’s anchoring himself to, is that his mom still loves him, and that’s important because studies show the acceptance & love of a parent makes a huge difference when someone comes out.
2016 - Queer Gospel : Erin McKeown - This song is a response to the ongoing trend of "religious freedom" legislation being passed by some US states. Love us as we are. See us and we're holy. In this shall we shall ever be, wholly ourselves
2016 - Midnight : Tyler Glenn - The Neon Trees frontman gives an emotional song about his departure from the Mormon church but not from God. The ballad is accompanied by a video that shows Glenn removing his religious garments and replacing them with a glittery jacket, which is such a powerful metaphor.
2017 - The Village : Wrabel - There are lyrics in this song of what religious people have told him, and boy do they hurt. They say, 'Don't dare, don't you even go there, cutting off your long hair. You do as you're told' Tell you, ‘Wake up, go put on your makeup, this is just a phase you're gonna outgrow.’ There’s a line in the song that hits me hard: One line in the Bible isn’t worth a life. The video is beautiful, very poignant, it breaks my heart and gives me hope. But these lyrics of what people
2017 - Pray : Sam Smith - You won’t see Sam in church, but they say they’re a child of God at heart and they’re begging God to show them a way. I'm not a saint, I'm more of a sinner. I don't wanna lose, but I fear for the winners.
2017 - HIM : Sam Smith - This is a song about a boy in Mississippi coming out and the conflict between his sexuality and his religious upbringing. He is grappling with the feeling that there’s no place in church for him because he’s gay. The “Him” being sung is used both for God and for a boy he likes. Holy Father, we need to talk. I have a secret that I can't keep. I'm not the boy that you thought you wanted. Please don't get angry, have faith in me
2018 - Explaining Jesus : Jordy Searcy -  Jordy grew up playing music with his family and in his church. In 2014, Jordy landed a spot on NBC’s The Voice. In this song, Searcy is apologizing for how poorly we have been “Explaining Jesus” to others. He begins by singing If you're gay and over 85, you've felt for your whole life, that when God made you, he just messed up.
2019 - Hey Jesus : Trey Pearson - Trey made headlines in 2016 when, as the lead singer of the Christian rock band Everyday Sunday, he came out as gay. Three years later and Trey has a question: Hey Jesus can you hear me now? It’s been awhile since I came out, I was wonderin’ do you love me the same? As a person who struggles to reconcile faith with sexual orientation, I find this song quite moving. The song ends with And I'm so sorry for all the wrongs. We're broken singers with broken songs. We paint our pride and call it truth. I'm sorry no one explained Jesus to you
2020 - God Loves Me Too : Brian Falduto - Brian played the gay kid in the movie School of Rock. Now as an adult, Brian is back and singing a song that no one has to earn God’s love. Brian wrote the song after visiting a church that was welcoming and accepting of queer people. I look around and see I’ve found a place where peace and love abound. I’ve waited my whole life for the truth. It is true, God loves you. It don’t matter if you’re LGBTQ
2020 - Chasing Rainbows : Big Freedia feat. Kesha - Freedia is a gay Black man who wears women’s hair and carries a purse and uses “he” and “she” pronouns. Kesha is bi. Together they put out an uplifting song. Freedia lists the various ways she’s been put down throughout her life by schoolyard bullies, religious figures and record labels. Kesha makes clear we won’t be put down any longer when she sings You know me, bein’ free. Won’t be silent, I pray for my enemies.
2020 - Jesus Christ 2005 God Bless America : The 1975 - This song has Matty Healy pondering religious faith and love from his perspective as a queer person and describes hiding his sexual identity because of his religious beliefs. Phoebe Bridgers, who is bisexual, contributes a fragile and vulnerable verse. She sings of her love for the girl next door. Her love is unrequited as she is unable to reveal her true feelings to her neighbor.
2020 - Orphans of God : Ty Herndon & Kristin Chenoweth feat. Paul Cardall - The message of the song is that there are no orphans of God. We are all loved, we are all thought about, we are all created equally and God loves us all just the same. Ty Herndon is a country singer who came out as gay in 2014
2021 - I Know it Hurts : Paul Cardall & Tyler Glenn - This makes me think of a queer person coming to recognize their insecure place in church, how all those negative teachings were about you. I just wanted to believe, but how am I supposed to believe this about me? And then we find each other, queer members of our church who can understand what we’re going through, who know the hurts and the teachings and comments. For most queer people, they leave church and go on a different path. They’re not lost, a faint light at the end is guiding their way, they’re finding another way back home.
2021 - It’s a Sin : Elton John and Years & Years - This arrangement of the 1987 song by the Pet Shop Boys was recorded by the gay icons Elton John and Years & Years for the 2021 Brit Awards. The words are about a person’s lifelong feelings of shame and guilt for being taught that being gay is a sin.
2021 - Born this Way (The Country Road Version) : Orville Peck - For the 10th anniversary of this iconic song, gay singer Orville gives it a country music makeover
2022 - Good Day (feat. Derek Webb) : Flamy Grant - Matthew Blake was a worship leader for 22 years who has become a “shame-slaying, hip-swaying, singing-songwriting drag queen” named Flamy Grant. The lyrics talks of coming back to church after having left for feeling oppressed. They’ve come back to church because despite what some say, God’s love is expansive enough for everyone. God made me good in every way, so I raise my voice to celebrate a good day. This song hit #1 on the iTunes Christian chart.
2022 - If I Was Gay : Andreas Wijv - 29 year old Swedish singer and model Andreas Wijk wrote this song and debuted it in a TikTok video where he plays it for his parents as his way of coming out. It’s a vulnerable song that many will relate to. If I was gay would I be what they say, just a stereotype. If I was gay how do I get to heaven when there’s “no church in the wild”
2023 - Faith : Semler - Grace Semler Baldridge performs by the name Semler and is genderqueer and non-binary. She grew up with a dad who was a pastor in the Episcopal Church, and sings of how the rejection of her identity by the church left them scarred. When my religion turned against me, they said my hopes and dreams were faulty. I showed these holes inside my hands, and they claimed they couldn’t see. Even as they struggled with the church, Semler kept a relationship with Jesus and found she flourished far more than she did in church. And now the thought of going back to a church is unappealing. But I don’t wanna get small to be in those rooms. After singing about their religion turning against them and that Semler wasn’t holy, we hear the lyrics Our God is good and able, and our God is flipping tables at the mess of love we made a religion that often didn’t accept her identity. This song was released in June and before Pride month was over it reached the top of the iTunes Christian music chart.
2024 - Hell Together : David Archuleta - This is a song of David’s experience at church as a gay person: Bow your head, don’t be bold. You’ll survive by doin’ what you’re told. It became too much and he worries what his mom would think if he leaves the church: All I want is to make you proud. If I would run, would I let you down? In response, she replies: “If I have to live without you. I don’t wanna live forever in someone else’s heaven. So let 'em close the gates. Oh, if they don’t like the way you’re made, then they’re not any better. If Paradise is pressurе, oh, we’ll go to hell togethеr.” A beautiful story of a mom supporting her queer child. In response to his mom, he answers that he’s worried about what’s ahead but is confident to take those steps together: You and me, that’s all we need. Blood is thicker than the pages that they read. I’m afraid (I’m afraid) of letting go, of the version that I used to know. I’m not crying, you are.

question but why do you hc cass as bi? As a lesbian myself Cass is so lesbian coded it's off the charts (clearly butch but is forced into rigid gender roles? loves swordplay and the arts of combat? faked attraction to a whole ass man to get into the royal guard? Gotta emphasize that butch thing because damn!! Represent! She's gotta be magnificently buff under that gambeson)
Also there's that whole thing with Rapunzel (kudos to the storyboarders , they had a vision and it came out clear!!) because it's gotta be a canon event for lesbians to have a painfully unrequited crush on a straight girl, even if you shove it deep down where the sun don't shine. That repression has gotta be about 80000% worse in the 1700s when homosexuality is really, really taboo in the western world (Disney kids show logic notwithstanding)
It’s funny that you ask this because I was actually just thinking about it the other day XD There’s actually a couple reasons I headcanon Cassandra as bi.
I have a good friend who’s bi, and they’ve told me that Cassandra checks off a lot of bi boxes so to speak. A lot of the stereotypes and traits that apply to gay women can also apply to bisexual women as well. Heck, sometimes they don’t apply to them at all, and sometimes they apply to completely different groups. And heck even bisexual women are forced into those same rigid gender roles among other boxes.
While I’m not at all against the idea of Cassandra being attracted to women, I don’t think lesbian has to be her only option for her to be with a woman. And just because we have implications of her being attracted to men in the writing of the show but that doesn’t mean she’s only into men either. Sexuality is a spectrum after all, you can be attracted to men and/or women and not be gay or straight. I myself am demisexual and I’ve stated to friends and family many times that the gender of whoever my partner ends up being doesn’t matter in the slightest to me.
As for the storyboarders, their work is absolutely amazing and they did a wonderful job but they were also lied to. Chris, the director, enjoyed all the attention Cassandra and Rapunzel were getting from the crew and from fans so he led them on and never bothered to tell the artists about the sister plot. And then of course there’s the whole harassment situation which I won’t get into here. But long story short, Chris misled his crew and his fans just so he could fetishize Rapunzel and Cassandra’s relationship and any semblance of it and I’m not here for any of that.
And as for the more fun reasons, I love the idea of Eugene “teaching” Cass how to be bi, helping her pick up women and men. He would totally understand the bi struggle. In my mind it’s like when Rosa comes out as bi in Brooklyn 99. I can only see the gang being super supportive of Cass and trying to get her to go on blind dates with both men and women.

so i made a chart on my headcannons for how i think the resi characters would identify their sexualities. it's not totally comprehensive of all sexualities, of course, and i left romantic flags off for space reasons. i also put a clean version of the chart for your own hyperinterest fandom needs (maybe type words instead of spending an hour on circles like me idk) obligatory: this is a silly lil opinion, not analysis
Tumblr media
some quick thoughts on my hcs:
some bisexuals in this category choose this label because it’s just what theyre used to (wesker, billy coen), others because they think it sounds sexier than pansexual (carlos)
however, I think excella would identify as bi for illogical terf reasons
OG re4 ashley is homophobic. 4 remake ashley is a sweet asexual lesbian who supports her best friends, two guys fucking (leon and luis)
only sherry uses the word “pansexual” for herself, everyone else gives generalized “gender doesn’t matter to me” answers (except leon, who blushes but won’t say anything)
jill goes back and forth on how to define herself but she’s not too concerned with picking a label. if she likes you, you’ll know, otherwise don’t worry about it
helena is asexual, aromantic, and tired of the allosexual shenanigans of re6
maybe barry had a gay experience in the military, but if so it's essentially a repressed memory. he fought w his daughter moira when she first came out for what were certainly unrelated reasons, but now he's a proud ally to his queer child.
ethan and heisenburg absolutely had homoerotic tension but it only went one way. ik theres a lot of fanwork for gay ethan but i get nothing queer from that guy sorry
mia's conservative coded to me in a way i can't quite explain. like i think she would have kicked her daughter out of the house for being queer
Here's the clean chart:

YTTD Sexuality Poll Results
The poll results are in! 67 people voted in the gender poll, and 77 voted in the sexuality poll. The gender poll can be found here. (Also this is just for fun. No one is saying anything is canon.)
Let's start with Sara! The LGBT community is really winning today as not one person thought she was straight. The majority of people think she's bisexual with 38 votes, but the lesbian Sara believers gave it there best shot with 24 votes.
Tumblr media
Moving on to Joe! Most people think he's bisexual as he received 46 votes in this category, with the second most popular option being pansexual with 15 votes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For Kanna, most people think she's a lesbian with 42 votes, with unlabeled being the second most popular choice with 19 votes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Most people agree that Keiji has bisexual energy with 44 votes, but some people disagreed with straight being the second most popular option at 11 votes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This one was close but most people think Q-Taro is bisexual with 22 votes, the second most popular option is gay with 20 votes. Also shout out to the "straight but 20 dollars is 20 dollars" person for making me laugh.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
People had a ton of thought's on Shin's sexuality with his pie chart being the largest, and yet not a single person thought he was straight. A lot of people think he's on the ace or aro spectrum, but overall gay was the most chosen option with 41 votes. The runner up was bisexual with 11 votes. (On the third column "gay and demisexual was said.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A huge majority agree that Reko is a lesbian with 71 votes, and no one thought she straight because I mean...come on. The second runner up choice only had two votes which was pansexual.
Tumblr media
People had the least amount of thought's about Nao's sexuality with her pie chart being the smallest. 38 people think she's a lesbian, and in second place 26 people think she's pansexual. Which I'm sure has nothing to do with her whacking Shin over the head with a pan. /J
Tumblr media
65 people think Gin hasn't really thought about dating yet, but the one's who do think he wouldn't date anyways as aro was the second winning sexuality with 5 votes. Also the person who made the AAA joke is hilarious.
Tumblr media
The majority of people think Mishima is gay with 25 votes, and the second majority of people think he's unlabeled with 12 votes. Someone also said that they think he's technically pan but calls himself bi because he likes the flag more.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Most people thought Alice was gay with 32 votes, and the second most popular choice was pansexual with 20 votes. But my favorite was "Homoromantic (gay ace)" because I misread gay ace as gay ass and got a big laugh from it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Most people think Kai is gay with 20 votes, and unlabeled got the second most votes with it being chosen 13 times. Aroace is also a fairly popular headcanon for him!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now time for the awards!
The character with the most straight energy is Q-Taro with 14 votes.
The character with the most bisexual energy is Joe with 46 votes.
The character with the most pansexual energy is Nao with 26 votes.
The character with the most lesbian energy is Reko with 71 votes.
The character with the most gay energy is Shin with 41 votes.
The character with the most aro energy is Kai with 11 votes.
The character with the most ace energy is Kai with 11 votes.
The character with the most unlabeled energy is Kanna with 19 votes.
And last but certainly not least the character where a different option then I had available was put in is Shin with 10 people putting their interpretations.

ALRIGHT YOU’VE CONVINCED ME but im putting this under a readmore bc ive got charts and shit
Sexuality
Tumblr media
Aspec
Tumblr media
Gender
Tumblr media
SO I think the charts mostly speak for themselves? I definitely don't have the energy to go into *every* individual person nor do I necessarily have much to say about some of em, so I'll only go into detail about ones I have particularly strong thoughts about/ things to say. But feel free to ask specifics! Can't guarantee I'll be able to answer but still. ANYWAY SO
I wanna start by saying I am the least confident in my aspec headcanons? They're extremely flexible moment to moment and I'm not attached to many of them. I could see almost anyone almost anywhere with only a handful of exceptions, honestly
I almost put a "cis but they've still got something goin on" category on the gender one,,, I woulda put the antags, Yasuhiro, Sonia, Angie, Gonta, maybe a couple others in there,,,
Not really represented here but im a big fan of genderfluid imposter and byakuya
All the protags are trans, and also they're all bi except komaru, fun fact 👍
Literally all of em are queer in some fashion, as you can tell from the fact that I forgot to put a "straight" category on the chart...
Anyway some in particular that im fond of that ive not really talked about before:
I love love love hc Aoi as a nonbinary lesbian. Its like,, lowkey projection,,, but I think its supported by the text. She's got some hang-ups surrounding womanhood and being a woman and how that relates to her relationship with men (im thinking specifically of her last fte). I think it would be a nice resolution to that struggle for her to shed the expectations she feels entirely and embrace who she is, even if its different from what she feels like she's "supposed" to be. Idk I think its a natural conclusion
I enjoy nonbinary chihiro for a similar reason. I think it would also be a natural conclusion to her struggles with gender and what masculinity and femininity means to them
And somewhat related I hc sakura as a cis lesbian also bc of her struggles with femininity?? I like the idea of her conclusion being to embrace her femininity wholeheartedly. She enjoys being feminine but has a hard time reconciling that with her strength. Id like to see her enjoy both of those things about her
Hm i wonder if those say anything about me, im not projecting even a little bit
I hc that akane is pan but for the longest time she just. Doesn't realize not everyone is like that? It was never even something to think about for her. Like she'll be talking to nekomaru and she's like "really you've never thought a girl was hot? Never? Men, I get ya, but *no* girls? That's possible?" And nekomaru gives her the most disappointed stare.
Idk why but nagito and nekomaru being the only gay men on the island is a lil funny to me
Also. I read a singular fic where nagito was demisexual and I was like ok you've convinced me (can you tell. I am. Easily convinced. About this kind of thing)
I go back and forth on whether I hc izuru as pan or aroace. Things like gender don't really matter to him, I just can't decide how that would work in terms of attraction for him 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
I would just like to call attention to transfem hiroko hagakure. Good for her
Rantaro. Feels v aroace to me. In that way where everyone who likes men is like "wow he's so pretty I can't believe he doesn't have a partner id love to date him I wonder if he's interested in anyone" and then he's just like "hey you guys check out this cool thing I found". Like the reverse of bi but noone wants him. Attractive but doesn't want anyone. I can see aspec tho. But that boy is definitely not allo
Once again. Idk why. But kiyotaka, nekomaru, nagito, and kokichi being the only gay men on the chart. Is a lil funny to me. Idk Idk Idk
Ummmm I think thats most of what I wanna say??? I might elaborate more another time but there's that 👍

My LGBT MML headcanons
I’ve shared some of these on AO3 but not everyone has seen my AO3 so I’m putting this here
Milo is bi and nonbinary. Gender wise, nonbinary is simply the closest word he has to describe himself but otherwise describes himself as ‘just Milo’. He has no preference whatsoever for pronouns. Murphy’s Law seems to know what his gender is each day even when he doesn’t, because much like when he is sick it ebbs a bit when he feels more feminine.
I see Zack as some form of MLM. Probably questioning at the moment, though. He seems very much like the gay panic type to me (because let’s be real, he’s always panicking).
Melissa is a lesbian who HATES gender roles. I can kinda see her as being cool with she/they pronouns, but my gender headcanon for her is still uncertain.
I know the popular headcanon is that Dakota is bi, but my take is that he’s gay. I personally can’t see him being genuinely attracted to a woman, but I’m not here to judge those who can. Also his t guy swag levels are off the charts. (I am a trans guy and I want his gender so badly so the trans Dakota hc gives me so much joy)
Similar to my headcanon for Dakota, my sexuality headcanon for Cavendish goes against what I’ve seen from others and to me he’s bi. He just doesn’t realize it for a long time due to being autistic. I also love to think he’s nonbinary with a changing pronoun preference, and doesn’t conform to what cis people expect from a nonbinary person. (He keeps his first name and facial hair)
Doof is the trans and bi divorced dad icon we all need. I feel no elaboration is needed.
Now that I think about it, I see every Murphy as bi. We stan a family of disaster bis! Also, what is it with married Dwampyverse men in particular having bi wife energy? (Looking at Martin and Lawrence)
Basically, if a character has shown clear and constant heterosexual attraction, they are most likely bi to me. Also, the only person I can think of at the top of my head as 100% cishet is Orton Mahlson. My main reason being how he saw Cavendish and Dakota’s interactions and p much went “What’s better than this, just guys being dudes”
Gonna get some supporting characters all in one go so this post doesn’t get too long. Amanda is bi. Mort & Chad are gay. Elliot is pan and trans. Mr. Drako is gay and trans. Veronica is WLW. Bradley is gay and doesn’t know it. Brick and Savannah are gay and lesbian solidarity. I’m not talking about Ms. Murawski.
