I was never really a fan of genderbends but an iasip genderbend has such good implications. My favorite of which is a male barbara impregnating a female bruce then gaslighting fran into thinking she's pregnant, stealing the babies from bruce, make fran think she is going into labor with the baby twins hidden in a bag or something and then paying off the docters to fake a birth. The thing is, I think any version of frank could have fallen for that.

So here’s a Undertale AU that I dug out of its grave called Forsaken Tale which I hinted 2 years ago (dang, it really has been that long ( ‘•_•)…)

While the story and many characters hasn’t changed that much, I did redesign Frisk’s outfit, which as of now I can’t find my old Forsaken Tale designs under the pile of other art stuff I have since done.

Anyways here is a retold summary of Forsaken Tale with a more story focus narrative:

Frisk is your ordinary high school dropout with no friends or family as a result of being experimented on by a group of scientists to test the capabilities of the human soul, in particular of children…okay, maybe she isn’t your ordinary girl.

As a child, Frisk was eventually saved by the US government and royal monster officials when she was 6 years old before any further damage can done. However some damage has been done as she has 7 human child souls attached to her, ranging from 6 to 13 years old.

For fear that she would be experimented on again if the truth would to be found out, she didn’t tell any of the adults that saved her if any of the experiments in the lab were successful.

Although free from the clutches of her captors, she had no family members to which she can go home to as the officials would later discover. As more news came out of the incident, the US government and monster rulers thought it would be best to give Frisk a new identity and placed into the foster care system.

So for the next 14 years, Frisk has been bouncing from foster home to foster home until she turned 18. Now recognized as a legal adult by law, Frisk thought it would be best to dropout of high school and officially start working as to live on her own.

Because Frisk as a minor in the horrendous incident, the government and monster officials have been supporting Frisk financial for most of her youth as requested by the monster rulers as compensation since the head lead of the scientific group was indeed a monster with some other high profile human government workers and scientists. But because Frisk is now an adult, the officials don’t have to finically compensate her but did give her a starter income of 10 thousand dollars.

For the better half of a year, Frisk managed to find a nice monster-owned hotel and began job hunting in the city of Ebbot. With some great difficulty, in part with also having 7 child souls attached to her (also the reason why Frisk went home to home and had no friends in school), she finally finds a stable job as a waiter at Giselle’s (Grillby’s). From there, Frisk also found her place in society and makes a lot of new friends like Undyne, Alphys, and Paprika (Papyrus). Frisk also has a growing crush and possible relationship with Giselle’s regular and comic, Sam (Sans).

While Frisk appears to finally have the ordinary life she had always dreamed and desired for, her past also makes a sudden reappearance that could effect her present and future relationships she made for herself. Would the scientists come back for her? Is the lead monster scientist really died? Do the 7 human child remember when they were alive? Does Chara know more about the lab tests than the other kids? And why does Chara (the 7th human soul) dislike Sam so much? And it appears that Frisk isn’t the only one with her own secrets…

Sorry for the long introduction for the AU, but it has been in the back of my brain for a good while so yeah.

Also a quick note that in this AU, all the characters in the original Undertale are genderbent here as seen in some of the character names being changed. There are some characters like Undyne and Alphys whose names are not changed. That’s because their names have a good gender neutral sound to it, but are still genderbent from the original. The only characters that are not genderbent are Frisk and Chara as they don’t have a gender in the original, but here, Frisk is a girl and Chara is a boy.

Hopefully, I’ll see that later I would show you the AU‘a designs and summary of the genderbent characters as well the role they play in the story. I’ll also reveal what the child souls look like as human since they are sort-of my OCs with the only thing connecting it to Undertale are the characteristic souls.

Genderbent names for Spy x Family:

Loid: Locke. It’s the German word for “I lure”, and “loid” refers to a lock picking technique. May as well name femme Twilight after the lock. The nicknames her ass-in-law comes up with are Lolo and Locksie.

Yor: Still Yor. It’s an original name, so there’s no reason it can’t be masculine.

Anya: Ivan or Vanya. Ivan is the equivalent “staple Russian name” for boys, and Vanya is the short form.

Franky: Still Franky, maybe Fran. If that’s the best alias Franky could come up with, I doubt any version of him would do better.

Yuri: Yulia. It’s written as Yurya in Japanese, so there’s hardly a difference.

Damian: Daphne. Greek for laurel, a symbol of fame and victory. Demetrius’ counterpart would be named Drusilla.

Becky: Bobby. I thought it sounded almost like “bomb”.

Handler: Severin. As elegant as Sylvia, and it means “severe”.

Fiona: Finn. The name still means “white frost”, and I’m not messing with that.

Okay let's gooo- Genderbent PJO

percy's name is important because he's named after a hero with a happy ending so a female hero with that? or still perseus because that's a cool name and sally (Sal ig if we're genderbending her too) would just give her a nickname

She would still have short hair i think, the shaggy longer look like a raggedy wolf cut

So Annabeth is named after an anagram for Athena and tbh i don't know a male name with those letters maybe Nathan? like that has a few but the wrong vibes 😭

I feel like short cropped out of the way hair for him, very practical. but i am a curly hair Annabeth loyalist so that fluffy curly hair look with short sides

again with Piper- named after music so maybe something like Reed after reed pipes? i'm not sure

honestly the same as piper, long messy hair that he cuts randomly in defiance until he learns about his culture and the importance of hair and grows it out

Frank, um Francesca? Fran for short because that's cute, then her grandma would call give her a different chinese name (i can't i'm white as hell)

Hazel, hazel was actually a male name at first especially in the early 1900s so? maybe the same?

I made a genderbent version of Flynn Fenton from my Twin AU. Her name is Fran (full name Francene), which is a small nod to the game Fran Bow by the way! She's a gymnast/parkour enthusiast instead of a track team runner and her sister Danielle even bases some combat moves on those parkour maneuvers too! Apart from that Fran is seen by most people as a real tomboy that hangs out at the park a lot doing cartwheels, flips, or playing a hardcore game of tether-ball. Not even Jace, her fraternal twin brother, can talk her out of doing it either.

Spoilers and context clues point to Michael being genderbent. Who knows what'll happen, could be bullshit, but the spoilers have been out for a bit, the showrunner has stated that there will be a queer couple playing out over "the next couple of seasons" (which lmao I PROMISE almost certainly = subplot over main plot), she's emphasized how excited she is for people to see Fran's subplot (GIVE US FLOWERS), and so on.

Like. Could be wrong! Wouldn't be the first time people leaked fake spoilers to let the world burn lmao. But if I was a betting woman, the combo of the rumors and the show's quality makes me think that if they're gonna have a queer Bton, it'll be the most low stakes option (a character nobody in the show-only audience cared about until this season, in a storyline that can play out as a significant subplot over the main plot).

But yeah. The rumors are all over social media at this point.

My major prediction for the upcoming season

Season 4 is definitely going to be Benedict's, Jess Brownell recently said they switched to Colin's season but NOT skipped;

Marina's death will be different from its book version, I think she dies saving one of the twins, though I don't know if it will happen in season 3 or 4

Eloise will be lead of the fifth season, she will marry Philip, however, they will not have biological children, due to her fear of children, though, she will still grow to love twins as her own

Jess Brownell also said that there will be a queer storyline: either it will be Cressida, that's why see her being pressured by her family; or if it's one of the Bridgerton siblings, it will be Francesca, she'll still be in love with John and will have his heir, while his cousin/sister will be played by Masali, many have speculated that the casting call of "Molly" is code name for Sophie, but its description sounds more like a genderbend Michael than Sophie (On first meeting, Molly presents as a devilish charmer: quick-witted, fast-talking, always with a joke. But beneath that exterior is a perceptive, kind, loyal soul. She'll very rarely let you in that deep though, because Molly knows she doesn't fit into what's expected of young ladies and is afraid of being scrutinized too closely)

Sophie, I think, will be played by an East Asian actress, and my money on Jemma Moore, not only is she being followed by Luke's agency even though she is not their client, but recently when the actors were shooting a promo, she also had some photoshoot and tagged makeup artists who work specifically with Bridgerton actors

I agree, it's too early for Eloise's & Fran needs to marry John AND then him to die before we even get to her/Michael. Plus, Luke Thompson being so cagey in interviews indicates he's trying to not talk about Sophie.

I think Marina's death will be off screen either way. Ruby Barker has made it ABUNDANTLY clear, she has no desire to return to the show. Even acting in general. I can understand why after her treatment. Fans need to expect and respect that.

It's honestly too early to tell re. Eloise's story anyway. We have to see more development of her first to know.

I think Masali being a genderbent Michael is possible. 'Molly' could be code for that. If she were Sophie, the codename would have been another 'S' name imo. Sophie is NOT a devilish charmer, etc that's very Michael. So I think that's a safe bet. (although not a guarantee obviously) Plus, Masali looks EXTREMELY similar to Victor Allie (who's playing John)

Jemma Moore is still who I highly suspect is Sophie as well, the two things (which I put on a thread on here once already) you mention are the two biggest hints of her being Sophie. She also, about 2 months ago posted to her Instagram stories from a photoshoot set (the same photoshoot she and the makeup artist who works with SEVERAL Bridgerton ladies on photoshoots & events.... Started following each other and the photoshoot was art themed.... Which obviously is Benedict's thing.

Anyway, good theories anon! We'll see how they turn out when we get the show I guess!

One of your recent hc posts (fabulous work btw), with one that Duncan and Courtney act like a couple despite not being together reminds me of Fran and Maxwell from The Nanny (which granted one could argue is a 90’s + genderbent Duncney at times). A running gag the show had was that Fran would talk to/treat Maxwell like a wife would despite being his employee and he’d always go along with it for a second until he realized they weren’t married but the sexual tension from the moment the show started was just *that* strong for them lol.
