#yttd #your turn to die #sara chidouin #shin tsukimi #sou hiyori #midori yttd #kimi ga shine #kmgsn #shadowart #EXTRA NOTES IN THE TAGS TIME AS USUAL #as far as im aware these are the only two lines that specifically mention sara's eyes ? #and they're both worded in such incredibly similar ways #both are almost very abrupt too #as if they both got distracted and felt compelled to say something about her eyes #there are in general a lot of midori parallels with sara #and i think shin's remark on her eyes being scary... well... shin would know a lot about scary eyes wouldn't he #after all he was uncomfortable with midori's stare too #which further leads into of course midori complimenting her eyes #he sees himself in her. or more specifically. the ruthless sara of the simulations #eyes to some are like a window to the soul #midori's offhanded compliment directly paralleling shin's much earlier remark on her eyes... well it makes sense these two would both make #a comment like that #that being said. i'd love to make make a partner piece to this about gin and ranmaru commenting on sara's smile #as i think those are also the only two instances where someone sees her make a dark expression and calls it out #that's all! #WAIT ONE MORE NOTE #shin going ahaha in this dialogue because it's a quirk he stole from midori really adds to the whole thing #like even while actively pretending to be sou. he is still frightened by the man he is masquerading as #and he sees that man in sara's eyes. terrifying!

hey I have some advice for people that wish they could do more to support artists but maybe can’t do as much financially!!!

leave really positive comments on things you like, and make them as specific as possible.

Literally, nothing makes my day more than a comment that’s really taken the time to analyze my art and describe WHAT about it they liked. this is really helpful for artists for a couple reasons:

many artists have adhd, anxiety, or some other flavor of Brain Stuff, and either respond VERY VERY STRONGLY to praise or (unfortunately) maybe just have a hard time believing their art deserves praise (IT DOES!!)

when comments are specific, that’s sooooooo much more helpful to grow! It’s a lot easier to figure out what you’re doing successfully when people tell you what their favorite part of your art is. But it can also help when you notice your joke doesn’t seem to be landing or if people are reacting a lot differently than you were expecting, and then you can better gauge how to course correct for next time. What stood out to you? Was it visual, aka lines, color, stylization, or composition? Or was it more emotional, aka dialogue, expressions, or poses? How did you feel looking at it?

it feels nice HDHSHJFJD but it does! Plus it works out your art analysis brain a little bit, and you’ll get more precise the more you do it. I love being a little cheerleader in the tags of my friends’ art. Gas em up and give em kisses on the cheek.

Don’t get me wrong, I love all comments. I love people who I can tell make an effort to comment something, even if it’s just a keysmash or incoherent wailing or a simple “I really like this op!” I also LOVE comments that are funny “op you are feeding me like a baby bird” (I have a little folder for screenshots of my favorites heehee).

But, again, it is really appreciated when people give specific, analytic comments. those are comments that turn me into a weeping little puddle. And this is not a “if you never ever comment you’re evil” post, it’s just saying if you do, we notice and thank you for it!

For how much Machete is described by others as off-putting, he really is a beautiful dog. Does Vasco ever tell him so? That his eyes make him look earnest, his fur the most comforting shade of white like cream, the way his ears catch light like stained glass? If someone doesn't tell him so, he'd forever think he was ugliest duckling

I think Vasco definitely tries, sincerely and often, but Machete is very reluctant to accept compliments and positive feedback. Especially if it's about something as personal and innate as his looks.

#he quietly spends a lot of time and effort trying to make himself look his best so appearances aren't a trivial thing for him #he's always very clean and neat and presentable #except on those occasions when he's soaked in blood but that's totally besides the point #white fur is kind of high maintenance any tiny bit of dirt or staining becomes an eyesore and if it dries it may be hard to remove #he bathes very frequently way more than average considering the time period #some of the outfits he wears are worth more than the combined lifetime earnings of like six generations of his family #silk was outrageously expensive and the brightest red dye came from pulverized cochineal insects that had to be imported from America #which had been colonized less than a century ago so those tiny little cactus bugs were really troublesome to get and the demand was huge #he doesn't quite have the nerve to wear perfume despite it's widespread popularity at the time #but he makes sure the smell of frankincense burned during church services sticks to his fur and clothes #in general when you spend your entire life around strict emotionally congested highly religious men #you might not end up developing a very healthy self-esteem or body image #once you've internalized that sense of inferiority it's hard to unlearn it #he's so thirsty for approval and praise but when he receives some he immediately gets uncomfortable and distrustful and vaguely angry #he absolutely struggles to compliment people back as well at least on any meaningful and personal level so there's that #answered #anonymous #Machete

I've been reading your fanfic since July, more or less, and I really liked it. I know that AO3 gives you the option to download fanfics in different formats, but it's very relaxing for me to edit text in epub/mobi, so I've been editing your fanfic since August to have it on the Kindle. Just copy and paste the text and add the italics. I have taken the liberty of adding the images that you have put at the end of each chapter.

The reason I am sending you this is that I would like to know if you want the epub/mobi file (I have both). Take it as a kind of gift, for warming my heart with your fanfic (and your art). I hope this didn't bother you, if so, I apologize and I won't share the file with anyone (I really did it for personal use). If, on the other hand, you want it, I'll be happy to send it to you/share a link to drive/mega.
