cyno let out a shaky breath before letting out a laugh- it was oddly cute and made your heart beat in a certain way... a way you haven't felt in a long time.

he let go of your hands, returning back to his stoic expression.

"aw... no more smiley cyno?" you let out a sad sigh.

"oh shut up," he muttered, a soft blush spreading on his face.

"heh.." you stare at him for a moment longer, your gaze lingering for a bit too long.

"ahem.." embarrassed, you turn away. shuffling to unlock the door to you and scara's-

..your apartment.

"hmph.. stay safe, i guess." cyno folded his arms, turning over to leave. but you could still feel his burning gaze at you.

"i guess?" you chuckle at him, secretly hoping it would make him as flustered as you were. however, flustering cyno wasn't quite easy.

"ugh... you are such a pain [name]." he groaned, taking a step forward, his converse leaving footprints on the carpet.

"am i? I'm sure you actually like all my antics." you smile at him teasingly, opening the heavy door to your apartment.

he stayed silent in response to that, which pretty much gave you his answer.

"hah.." you gave him a winning smirk before looking inside the apartment. "bye then, i guess." you say, imitating him.

he clicked his tongue, before waving, "bye."

and with that, he continued walking off.

you closed the door, and as soon as you did... you squealed.

since when had cyno gotten so... cute? your face started to heat up and you had a completely smitten smile on your face.

"cyno.." you murmur his name to yourself.

"oh cyno.."

you seemed to be in a trance... you didn't even realize you were getting a phone call.

a phone call that you happened to accept.

"cyn-"

"whore." was the word that brought you out of your thoughts.

you immediately look over to your phone, reading the name of the caller.

"scara..." you whisper to yourself- your eyes widening when realization hit you.

"yeah it's me, 'scara'," he said imitating and mocking your voice.

you were tempted to end the call- but something told you not to... you wanted to hear his voice for a little longer.

"why are you calling me...?" you ask softly, clutching your phone tightly in your hand.

"oh don't play dumb [name]. i'm calling you because of that guy."

guy..? did he mean...

"cyno?" you ask, holding the phone closer to you.

"no you dumbass, who else?" he spat out.

there was a moment of silence before you could hear him let out a deep breath.

"i wanted to ask you why you were with him...? is he your new boyfriend or something? i didn't know you'd move on so quick."

you frown- he really wanted to know about all that? he wasn't even in your life anymore... the audacity.

"why do you even care scaramouche? and just to answer your question... we are not dating, we're simply friends."

"friends? why did he give you his hoodie then? why?"

his voice was sassy and just plain rude, maybe you'd return his attitude back.

"because i didn't want a certain someone to see me. can you guess who?" you snapped back.

"and also, didn't you always give your friends your hoodies..? like lumine? oh or that teal-haired girl."

you were returned by silence...

"yeah well he said you could keep it- i only gave them those hoodies because they practically begged!" though you couldn't see him, you could definitely tell he had an adorable pout on his face.

"okay whatever- but why do you even care scaramouche? tell me?

"because we broke up a month ago! and you're already out there taking other guys' hoodies!" he yelled.

"and i saw you! you were wearing my shirt to go out with that cyno boy... you know how shitty that is [name]?" he took a deep breath, he really felt like he won.

"the only shitty thing i see is you," you said, your voice showing how pissed off you really were.

"i'm blocking you scaramouche, goodbye."

"wait-"

but you didn't even give him time to explain- it's not like any explaining would sum it up anyway.

Perched against a rock on the outskirts of Inazuma City, you struggle to ignore the stares of passersby as Itto cradles your bloodied knee like a precious heirloom. If the earlier fall wasn’t embarrassing enough, the giggling elders as they watched was mortifying.

He mumbles something incomprehensible, and you strain your ears to listen. “What’s wrong?”

He clears his throat and speaks again. “Should I... Should I kiss it better?”

The uncharacteristically bashful expression on his face is rejuvenating, and a giggle manages to slip past your tight smile.

“Itto, I’m okay.�� You insist, hovering a hand over his shoulder. The frown on his face merely deepens at your words, his overprotective nature taking his emotions by the reins.

A thumb brushes beneath the sensitive skin of the wound, followed by a loud, exaggerated sigh. “You don’t need to act strong y’know,” he finally rises to his feet. “Hop on, I’ll carry you back home.”

Huh?

“There’s no way I’m letting you walk home on a leg like that- so c’mon!” He spins and crouches, not allowing any protests as he reaches behind him.

It’s futile to argue with him. You’re not in the mood anyway, and a piggyback ride from your boyfriend is nearly impossible to decline when his warmth is perfect for negating the winter chill.

“You better not drop me...” You mumble, wrapping your arms around his shoulders and squeezing when he grips the backs of your thighs. “Drop you? Aha- you’re so funny, babe!”

“If it hurts just let me know, okay?” He says, looking over the treated injury once more. After careful tending, Itto sets you on the porch, kicking his feet out with a yawn.

His hand falls upon your head, brushing away the hair falling over your eyes. The thump of his head against your shoulder is quiet compared to his whining. “I should’ve just caught you-” he sighs. “-next time, tell me when you’re going to fall.”

Another sigh. “Of course.” Intertwining your hands, you lean against him and smile.
