I think the etiquette of ask blogs is a forgotten art. what I'm saying is (imo) it's not that people don't want to play, it is they don't know HOW, and more importantly they don't understand that the game exists to begin with. obviously you do not have to teach people the rules because your time and energy is finite but idk. it feels like from some of your OOC responses that you assume people know the rules and are playing badly, but I genuinely think people (me) just don't know what you are wanting them (us) to do. and also they (i) don't know how to tell if they (i) are playing the game correctly.

An example I am genuinely confused about is, is inciting a "shut up" answer a signal that the game is being played correctly, because we are inciting a reaction from the character? or is a "shut up" answer a signal that we are playing wrong and need to do something different? Generally speaking, not everyone is willing to be in a relationship where the man is providing 100% of the bills but I followed you because I thought that was your view. Firstly, I don’t keep my blog active for the follower count. I began CSB to keep a track of everything I’ve personally learned over the years. My content is also mostly about productivity and self growth. I very rarely discuss love and relationships on here and only if I ever feel like it. There are enough crazy stories out there about financial abuse. There needs to be a certain amount of time + emotional intimacy + rationality involved in order for a man to provide for you. The reality is that today’s economy is not suited for everyone. Gone are the days where $100 could be stretched to every cent and you could live a decent life on it. If a man can give you the option to work, he can also switch up at any point and take back that option. Would you be ready for a switch like that? Would your past grades, work experience, etc still be relevant? What if you decide to leave him - are you in the position to?

idk how long i've posted something but ever since this alex kister situation came out, i need to speak my thoughts about this because this situation was the ONLY thing I was thinking

If you're not chronically online, Alex Kister is just a youtuber that created The Mandela Catalogue (2021) and other things like Mystifying Oracle and The Red Box Project, and he got exposed for being weird and predatory towards a minor.......yeah

i actually loved The Mandela Catalogue back then and i was a huge fan of it (even if there was only one post about it in my blog and it was only just a reblog of a fanart in like 2022 probably 💀) like I loved the concept, characters, the creepiness, everything in general. i eventually lost interest in this series and gained new interests in 2023. i kinda forgot about this series until now, and........

yeah, what alex did was fucked up, but here's the problem: I don't know if I should believe the victim or not because there were times where creators were accused for being pedophiles or just being creepy in general and majority of them were false accusations (ex: Kwite, ProJared, etc.). Like...I literally do not know who to trust, and I'm telling the truth. Especially considering the fact that ruining a famous person's career is getting easy, I don't know if the evidence are legitimate or not.

So what's my opinion on this?

I won't pick a side yet. I'm not choosing a side until Alex released his response to this situation. I don't want to immediately jump to conclusions because I don't know who to trust. If everything the victim said was true, let's hope that Alex will stay away from the internet and another person will pick the up series. But if the victim was lying the entire time, we'll beat their ass for trying to hurt Alex. We don't want to repeat our mistakes (especially if you remember the Kwite situation).

elemental has turned around at the box office and gone from flop to doing well. it seems this is pretty much entirely because of word of mouth. maybe theres other factors im not considering, but thats pretty fucking impressive.

and i think it deserves it tbh. it is far from perfect, but it might be my favorite pixar film of the 20s so far. granted, the bar isn't as high as the 10s or 00s, but hey, the decade is young. its pretty good!

i think what i liked about it was mainly that it was really emotionally sincere. like. its not too snide or self-aware, it just deeply cares about its characters and is totally committed to the world.

so many newer pixar flicks have this "popcorn filler" middle where there's zany antics that barely connect to the emotional journey. this movie doesn't. its all about these two main characters bonding in a way i found organic and compelling. and there's very little cringe humor. that one annoying tree guy is basically just in it for two seconds. idk why disney marketing still (wrongly) believes that kind of eyebrow wiggle humor is popular, because that made the movie look WAY worse.

anyway. its definitely good for a movie that was written off en-masse as cringey and generic and a lazy race metaphor. i don't think its any of these things. i think the main creative voice speaking about their own immigrant experiences does the job in a decent way.

also, that one clip of "fire girl being racist" is ignoring the crucial context that SHES the immigrant whos discriminated against, not some white-coded karen who needs to learn to be less racist. shes aware that shes less privileged and doesnt want to rock the boat.

also-also, i'm not even going reason with the badfaith twitter take that "she doesn't wanna date the tree boy because she's RACIST instead of it being because he's a CHILD?? #groomer alert!1!!"

like. come on. she's clearly not interested in him, she doesn't need to Spell Out that its because he's a child. that's not the point of the movie. thats just the most lazy twitter hot take for the sake of morally justifying that you found a thing cringe. don't be that person.

if you don't wanna see it, hey, don't. its fine. i'm not gonna go to bat like its the most important movie ever or anything... but its nice seeing pixar have more well-rounded, developed girl characters, after decades of being the emotionally sincere boys club. about time.

also, the romance is cute. i totally get why the aroace community in particular relate. like. its a romance where they Literally cannot touch each other, so its a relationship that actually develops because of their personalities rather than anything physical. its nice :)

Any new headcanons brewing in your head after seeing Alycia at the AACTA

But I've had thoughts. Bear with me.

I'm not even remotely the person to write something like this at all, but it definitely did have me thinking of a SORT OF SHOEH-esque type fic. Something involving them being closeted and in Hollywood. Getting their flowers for their talent and being in love, but having to keep it quiet their entire careers. I've seen some fics along this line here and there, but inevitably in the fic, one or both eventually come out on stage or something.

Which is great! That's a lovely and hopeful ending.

But also....

Not entirely realistic.

Or even half as heartwrenching.

Idk it just got me thinking of Clexa as two Hollywood starlets on kind of differing ends of the spectrum of Hollywood that in the public eye are generally never really thought about together.

Lexa tends to do more gritty work, a lot more indie films. Dark threaded moody pieces and emotional roles, not generally thought of as box office fodder, but pretty much always a contender at awards season. Sleeper hits, you get me. Things like that. She definitely has a well known name, but she's selective in her work and that gains her a lot of respect with fans, even if they have to sometimes wait 2-3 years between projects. Because whatever she signs on for, it's pretty much always really fucking good. Whereas Clarke is more of a mainstream girly. She does a decently broad spectrum of films, but they're by and large always ones with bigger budgets, bigger release dates, more screens. It's not that they're not quality pictures, it's just that Clarke likes to work a broad range of things. One year she's in a comedy, the next a period piece, the next action. There's no real labeling her career.

And most importantly, they're both very, very straight.

At least, their personas are.

Alexandria is a smoky eyed femme fatale who leaves all the men eating out of the palm of her hand. Very "Look but don't touch" attitude that adds to her allure, to her mystery, despite her always being attached to leading man's arm. Miss Griffin is the picture of buxom Hollywood glam that every guy has on the List. Known for leaving a string of broken hearted men in her wake with little more than a cheek kiss-stained in signature red lipstick

Lexa and Clarke though?

Lexa and Clarke are two friends who have been deeply in love and committed to each other for the better part of 5 years.

They love each other in secret because that's what they feel like they have to do. They have two seperate houses with two separate addresses, and only one bed they actually sleep in.

It only really burns on the big nights, which I think would be an interesting oneshot. Just a glimpse into their life and what it feels like in that moment. The night when all their work and their sacrifices are being honored. Because even though, yes, they do play the part of friends and manage to sit near each other, it's not the same. It's not the same when they can't get ready together or even show up in the same car. When they have to remind themselves not to lean into each other too often, or even reach for the others hand to calm their nerves.

When one wins, they walk up alone without a hug or kiss from the only person who actually matters. They thank their families and their friends and their management that they can barely stand half the time, and remind themselves to smile like it's the happiest moment of their life even though at least half it all feels like a lie. Because yeah, they get lonely in the months when projects and shooting schedules pull them to opposite sides of the globe... but somehow those months never feel quite as lonely as being in a room filled with people who act like they adore you, while the love of your life sits quietly with her own "date" half an aisle away

Ok so you mentioned inexperienced Joe and Cherry which got my mind kinda runnin—

I feel like Joe was the guy who, when he was way younger, tried to make it seem like he knew what he was doing because he wanted to seem hot and confident but as soon as the girl he was getting steamy with sat on his lap for the first time, his body instantly went rigid. She asked if he was ok and he said yeah but eventually with a little coaxing and reassurance she finally got him to admit that he had no clue what to do. Either that or when he was young, the only knowledge he had was from p*rn. I think I remember Neon talking about a HC that she had that Cherry was the one who lost his V-card first before Joe, so I'm gonna add onto that and say he did it one night specifically because he wanted to piss Joe off LMFAO. He eventually grows to let loose a little bit and let himself have fun sometimes.

But that whole thing also got me thinking about how they would be if either of them were your first time.

For Joe, he thinks you're absolutely adorable. So cute, so shy, so pliant. He knows how scary it can be to be that intimate with someone for the first time so he'd probably tell you to, "Tell me what you want me to do, Babydoll.~" to give you a sense of control in the situation so you'd maybe feel a bit more at ease. You'd be too shy to say it out loud, either that or your head would be spinning due to everything you're feeling to the point where you can't talk. I can imagine him teasing you a little bit. He clicks his tongue sympathetically, "Awwwh, poor baby... don't be shy, Princess. M'not gonna bite... but if you want me to you gotta tell me, right?" He would probably soothingly rub circles into your hip while coaxing you into being more bold, talking in a voice dripping in liquid sugar. Eventually if you're too shy I can see him dipping down and letting you whisper it in his ear. He'd probably say whatever you said back to you, overly loud with the most smug expression on his face as he watches you curl in on yourself in an attempt to hide your face.

I'm not too sure about Cherry on the other hand. Tbh he kinda strikes me as the type to not wanna be someone's first time, mainly if it's like a one n done situation. He'd probably be way sweeter with a partner but I'm not too sure about specifics. You might have a different opinion or something to add so if you choose to then go off bro :)

-I am wondering how people can say moon square moon in synastry shows short term. I can grasp it to a certain degree but general this aspect can stay together. sometimes i feel like. just a significant amount of FMA Discourse™ would vanish if we all remembered to take into account the genre (a shonen action manga w a target audience of 12-16 y/o(approximate age) Japanese boys published from 2001-2010) conventions, buy-ins, and limitations

like. no media is beyond critique and i am a firm believer that kid's media can tackle serious topics but the time, place, and audience it was produced in has to be taken into account

is FMA super feminist? well honestly in the grand scheme of things it achieves a bit more than the minimum. there's only a handful of female characters compared to the much larger male cast. Winry and Hawkeye have personalities and character arcs and compelling motives but those things are directly tied to more important male characters (Ed and Mustang). there's only one female character that's highly sexualized (Lust) as opposed to all of them, the rest get to be v conventionally attractive instead of blatantly sexualized nonstop. in the context of being a shonen action manga aimed at teenage boys tho? it's fuck phenomenal

does it handle the Ishvalan genocide well? not particularly. but for Baby's First Introduction To The Concept in a country that's historically Not Been Great at acknowledging war chimes it does a decent job (note: i'm def not saying Japan's the only nation w that problem, just that they're one of the big ones in regards to the topic)

is it shitty that FMA's solution to corrupt systems is to just get rid of all the Bad People and put Good People in charge? hell yeah!! but a common buy-in for media aimed at this age group is that the heroes are all Good Guys who will achieve their goals and do good things. Mustang and Ling both plan to more or less keep the system as is but take out the Bad Parts which is bs irl but in YA-and-under fiction we can trust that they are Good Guys who will do Good Things

Saejima Taiga

Flirting bounces off of his head like a rubber ball on a gym floor. Eventually someone probably kind of smacks him on the head and is like "Dude. They're flirting with you." He'll have his surprise Pikachu face moment and then he'll just get used to it. Not naturally fliratious in the typical way and won't throw it back at you like Majima does but he has his own way of doing it, typically responding to you hitting him by smirking and saying "Ah, that's what you think of me? Really, tell me more." He gets pretty smug over time.

Akiyama Shun

Good luck at out-flirting this man. He recognizes the behavior instantly and the worst part is he's totally good at doing the exact same thing. The two of you could go back and forth for hours until Hana probably just yells at you two to get a room or something. Pretty cute and coy when he wants to be. The first time you say something fliratious though, he'll think you're joking. Best flirt out of all of the boys. He saves his fliratious energy so you wouldn't think at first that he's a natural flirt. Truthfully, Mine just knows when to bring it out and is great at gauging the situation. Lets you think you have the flirtatious upper hand only to turn the whole situation around. Type of guy to lean in close after you say something particularly fliratious and say "What was that? I didn't quite hear you, do you want to say that again?" Extremely skilled at using his voice.

Tatsuo Shinada

Actually a decent flirt despite his goofy personality. Totally blushes openly when hit on, saying things like "Ah, you really think so? Thanks!". Loves getting hit on by people, honestly. The best at giving you compliments in return though, type of guy to be like "No, YOU'RE cute" and he could do that for hours, so watch out.

Question that's not explicitly plurality related but I think that yall would probably know the most about it, if that's ok?

How can you tell when a thought is yours? Like I'll have thoughts that I definitely know I'm thinking, but there's also a song running in the background (which I think is normal to not be able to stop, don't know if it's normal to purposefully try to think over it and have it still go just sound like it's underneath your thoughts), and other background noise too. By "background noise" I mean random trains of thought that I can't fully hear unless I focus on them. And then sometimes my brain will just start talking, narrating my life or telling a story or making up a scenerio or something. Sometimes it's full on conversations. It's not something that I'm trying to do, and if I'm like "hey brain, can you shut up ^.^" it'll be like "no" and resume (sometimes it just doesn't stop and sometimes it will literally say no, the latter not often though)

I'll also have conversations with myself, both outloud/internal and internal/internal, but only one of them will really feel like conscious thought so idk what's up there

I can't tell if my brain is just running without my input or if something else might be up here, but I figured that you guys most likely have more experience than a lot of people (singlets) with thoughts-that-don't-belong-to-you sooo.... yeah

Yep, im ok with it; Well in general means, there still can be thoughts that seems to be lingering around that doesn't necessarily correlate to being plural! I definitely know what you're talking about, so in this case i thought of a few things such as:

Intrusive thoughts This is when you unexpectedly think of something, which seem to pop up here and there that didn't actively come from you. How often someone experiences, and what kinds of thoughts have no limits. This one will make sense when you mean thinking things that doesn't relate to your train of thought or personality at all.

Neurodivergency Most apparent/often for people with ADHD, they often have their minds being loud with many background thoughts, often repeating a part of a song and or words. I am not entirely sure if this is for stimulation (keeping yourself from being bored or something) or because of scattered focus or other reasons that i had not mentioned. This isn't only limited to ADHD btw.

My Experience Well, some people are chatty in nature, im one of them, i often think alot, chat to myself alot to the point of having a fake convo (i know im the one replying to myself, thats the thing) because you're brain is super active and all that.. eh, i wish it's silent you know? And it doesn't have anything to do with those two things up there before.

And to answer your very first question to how you can know it's your thought.. i can only explain in one definition: You always know the reason, or why, or the train of thought behind it. Something that interjects and does and follow your flow is a foreign thought.

Also, to be safe, these are what you have to look out for that could mean your thoughts... can be alters:

Commenting on different preferences often

Commenting on what you're doing, sometimes telling you to do it differently or somewhere along the lines

Refer with different names

Have consistent, distinguishable accent/tone/characteristic (where, obviously, are not your thoughts)

Seem to have different views, morals, ethics

Capable of handling conversations, and reasoning, as if it's a physical person you're talking to. Which is entirely outside of your own will and intention

Often dissociate, feel like a different you, and have inconsistent likes/dislikes

If you seem to match up with these signs, you are likely to be an undiscovered system. And i will dedicate myself to further assist you to assess if you are one in an even more detailed/complete manner because it takes a decent amount of time to figure this out (oh and feel free to read DID resources just incase). - brad played with dolls as a kid but his parents took them away when he got “too old” for it to be some cute quirk because a Man has to play with Trucks like a Man anyways he did play with Trucks like a Man but he never forgot how to do their hair so even now he can french braid the shit out of people’s hair, especially magentas hair because the dolls he had also had big poofy hair like hers so he’s used to that. however columbia is typically magentas french braiding person so when she saw her gf getting her hair braided by another man she was like “HOW DARE YOU WE ARE OVER” (as a joke obviously don’t fret)

- this is such a specific scenario but if they are shopping and come across a pillow they want to buy they give it the columbia test. what is the columbia test you might ask? they just get columbia to scream all of her pain and trauma into the pillow, and if the sound is muffled enough it is deemed worthy to purchase

What is your opinion on soukoku?

As a ship? Yeah, I do ship it.

I don’t like it as a “they’re eachother’s one true love” sort of thing, but as a complicated “I hated you at first, but then I warmed up to you, then I hated you again because you screw me over constantly and we’re being pitted against eachother by our boss, then I started to deeply care about you because of the forced proximity and the fact that we were just two teenagers who were never allowed to really be kids and we can find common ground in that, then you left and I still love you even though I dislike you” sort of thing with some sexual tension thrown into the mix? That’s great. Not the most important relationship in each other’s lives, but there’s still an unbreakeable bond.

I’m of the opinion that Dazai is way more invested in their relationship than Chuuya is, and has been since the moment they met, but Chuuya started to really care about him at like 16-17. I think he still resents Dazai though. Dazai was kind of horrible to him. But I think he has forgiven him for it on some level, like he’s forgiven every other character who has ever wronged him. (Forced proximity does a lot for Chuuya I guess idk)

Sometimes I think I kind of just ship it as one-sided with Dazai being on-again-off-again obsessed with Chuuya, but every time he expresses it Chuuya’s just like “you crazy bitch”. But sometimes I enjoy it as mutual. Depends on the day really.

I don’t think it’s particularly healthy, but I don’t really care. I don’t think ANY of Dazai’s relationships are actually healthy, and the only healthy relationships Chuuya had were Adam and the flags. So it… checks out…

I think the fanon version of them used to be SO out of character like 3 years ago, but ever since Stormbringer came out the fandom got a lot less obnoxious about them. Because they actually have a canon past dynamic to go off of. It’s a lot less cutesy and “they only care about eachother🥺” than it used to be.

I think I enjoy their dynamic outside of shipping because it gives someone who knew Dazai well in the past, who he has wronged, who at the time was generally viewed as a more upstanding person than him, but is now still on the “bad guys” side while Dazai attempts to redeem himself. It’s a really interesting angle. Like, Dazai probably does still think Chuuya’s a decent guy, but the people who he surrounds himself with now in an attempt to be better would probably still view Chuuya as a terrible person. He’s a murderer, he’s incredibly loyal to the guy Fukuzawa and Yosano have intense personal beef with, he bragged about selling out their powerless clerks to an enemy, and he’s all around hostile towards them. And yet, Dazai has always felt that Chuuya was more human than him, more feeling, more loyal and caring. But in the end, Dazai’s putting in the work to “be a good person” and Chuuya’s still stuck right where he was at fifteen, right where Dazai helped trap him. How fun.

Also I just kind of enjoy their bickering, but I think fan content leans too heavily into the Chuuya getting embarrassed thing, because sometimes he is but he’s also either pissed or like passive-aggressively indifferent about Dazai being annoying. You need a real mix of the three. And on that note, I’d argue if anyone’s a tsundere in that relationship it’s Dazai. He’s the one who’s making these grand declarations towards Chuuya and as soon as Chuuya’s like “…what the hell man?” he’s like “never mind. I hate you and I want you dead.” And it’s like… a pattern. Chuuya just gets angry at Dazai for completely reasonable things.

Chuuya’s not the only person I ship Dazai with if you were curious, because Dazai has chemistry with like half the cast. I’m more invested in Chuuya’s platonic relationships in general, but there are a few other ships involving him that I don’t mind.
