This one is sooooo good. It’s another one that’s recommended often enough, but this one contains a few and far between bottom Matsun which makes ur better.

Summary: They've always been really close friends, but Hanamaki begins to question how close when Matsukawa begins dating someone else - someone else that doesn't treat him well. When he suspects that Matsukawa may be in an abusive relationship, Hanamaki realizes that opening his best friend's eyes to his situation may be harder than he had ever anticipated.

This is a fic that I’ve only been able to read once. It’s really upsetting as it features Matsukawa in an abusive relationship with an OC and it’s just really hard to read. But this IS a cult classic, which MatsuHana doesn’t get ever, so I think it’s a must read if it’s not too triggering. I also want to say that even though the rating is explicit, all the sex featured is completely consensual. Again, this is a sad fic but it’s so well written and incredibly well done. I really do love it.

IDOLiSH7: Third Beat! Part 2: Episode 1

I've watched the first episode of the new season of IDOLiSH7 finally! I've decided to write down my thoughts on every episode when I've watched, so it won't be too much in depth since I'm writing this after watching it only one time. I will try to connect things as the anime progresses though!

Okay, I basically know what will happen, but the first episode was so intense…!? I already knew that part 2 will show the nasty side of the connections in the idol industry, but wow… I applaud TROYCA once again for another masterpiece of an episode.

I wanted to say that not a lot has happened this episode and that it was all introductory, but in reality, a lot has happened this episode alone. Continuing with the TRIGGER drama from part 1, we see the result of the scandal in a more noticeable way. The fans are unsure, but so are TRIGGER and Yaotome Production. Like they often said in the episode, they need to hold their head up high, otherwise they will be taken more advantage of.

Even though Yaotome papa knows he's walking straight into Tsukumo's trap by visiting Hanamaki Sumire at the hotel, he still puts another person's life above his own reputation. You will see that he isn't actually a bad person and that he actually cares a lot. I mean… Gaku sure resembles his dad. Maybe also that part with the popularity of the ladies, right? 🥴

Jokes aside, Yaotome puts his people above everything else, even if it's damaging to his own reputation of a label. You will see more of this later in story, but I won't go too much into it right now.

After that scene, we jump to a scene with Kujo and Tenn, which I think is really neat (and iconic tbh). While Yaotome says nothing is worth risking a person's life, Kujo is someone to actually play with the life of people and Tenn confronts him about it. These two scenes are the opposite of each other and that's what makes the scenes more powerful.

Tenn who's acquainted with Kujo and Yaotome, works with two different views. I already explained last season that Tenn has to make a choice at one point and this scene brings that kind of to the front again. He has to choose something. He can't choose both, since they are basically the opposite of each other. Anyway, this scene was good.

Also, kudos to this scene because I nearly teared up and for what… The voice acting, the soundtrack, the whole composition of this part… I had to watch it again, but maybe I'm saying that as a Momorin oshi. Momo will have his time to shine (quite literally hehe) this season as well, so let's look forward to that together, shall we? ;)

ABOUT THE ENDING SONG…

The ending song is an absolute BANGER btw. Not too fond of the opening, since I'm not a fan of Ayase's music (the MV is cute tho, but I won't ever analyse the MV because of the song itself). I already said that I expected ZOOL to take the ending song, since TRIGGER had the ending song in part 1 and since TRIGGER is getting pushed out of the picture, we are getting ZOOL.

It's very interesting to see how all members rather seem very disconnected from the idol world, except Minami who had been working in the industry since he was small, so I guess you can say he knows how to catch the attention of people.

Compared to PLACES, this ending shows how ZOOL is not a group yet. PLACES showed how tight TRIGGER actually is and how they look out for each other, but ZOOL? They don't look at each other nor do they actually look straight at the camera until the last part of the ending. Even if they look at the camera, most of the time they are covered by these chains or bars, so you can say that they are behind bars/chained up. They are not free just yet. Everything is directed and their own feelings have not been taken under consideration.

Especially this sequence above shows how they don't care and that they are still looking for the group/person they want to be. Haruka is noticeable in the dark compared to the rest of the members and I think it's because Haruka is not ready to face his issues… He's a frail boy after all.

note: because sekai/revstar/and bandori are all games about performing, singing, etc, i think semi would mesh well with any of them! i think moreso with sekai/bandori characters; revstar deals with theater more than band performances, but the underlying concept is the same. maybe they trade tips about stage lighting & the like!

mizuki: they would really mesh well with asahi; mizuki creates clothing in their spare time, & i’d love for them & asahi to share tips. other characters: sugawara, hanamaki, matsukawa, mainly because they’re all gremlins and should hang out with them. they’d absolutely beat the shit out of sugeru; they just spit venom at each other, they’re beefing based on vibes alone. mizuki’s main conflict in sekai stems from their identity/gender, which haikyuu doesn’t cover as much, so you. my mutuals. i’m coming to you to have mizuki help your muse process their gender feelings.

mafuyu: i want her to meet any of the volleyball monsters, because while mafuyu has the talents as a prodigy to do anything she sets her mind to ... she has no passion at all. i want her to especially meet ushijima, oikawa, & kageyama. characters like ushijima & kageyama especially; almost born volleyball prodigies, the expectations people place on them & that they place on themselves closely parallels mafuyu’s experiences. ushijima moreso than kageyama; mafuyu makes herself approachable, & could be considered a prodigy, but has never been allowed to grow past that. i think they’d be able to mesh well with ushijima in that regard. i put oikawa in here because, while he is not a genius, i think mafuyu would make him incredibly bitter. they have this talent that they hone, but they’re not happy about it; they haven’t been happy in a long time. i want oikawa to see past mafuyu’s talents & discover the girl that’s been stifled this entire time because of the gifts she never asked for. i’m also gonna tentatively throw kita in here, only because they both understand wanting to do things methodically & not caring about the gods/higher powers.

maya: anyone from the powerhouse schools could work. maya is not only a prodigy, but one that continues to grow more & more; she, more than anyone, not only understands the struggle of honing your talent, but the jealousy & bitterness people throw your way because of it. i think he should meet ushijima & atsumu, who would know a thing or two about being considered cold or standoffish due to their talents. i would place oikawa in here for the same reasons as mafuyu, but in all honesty? i think he should meet bokuto instead. maya can be quite childish at times, & he’d be good at bringing that side of them out!

hikari: i would really like for hikari to meet kageyama! the fun of standing on their respective stages, the emptiness that they felt ( kageyama when no one was there to hit his toss vs hikari when she lost her brilliance ), then the subsequent return of what they lost ... i think they parallel each other nicely. plus they’re both quiet & sometimes very unintentionally funny! additionally, i think hikari should meet goshiki; they understand trying to catch up to the superior version of themself, even if on the stage, & i think they’d find that in him. he’s also easy to fire up & just as passionate about volleyball as hikari is about theater, they’d find him endearing!

tamao: ok i really want tamao to meet oikawa just because of their most iconic lines; oikawa’s “talent is something you make bloom, instinct is something you polish” vs tamao’s “i will blossom until there’s no life in me”/”bloom with dignity on the stage of life” is just something that i rotate around in my mind a lot. tamao more than anyone understands trying to keep up against a tide that threatens to swallow you, how much work you have to put in to reach the top! oikawa was threatened by kageyama’s prescence, & tamao was threatened by kaoruko. i also want her to meet & bond with kita; she, after all, goes to a traditional japanese school that follows yamato nadeshiko ideals. they’d both bond over that! ( also i think she should meet atsumu considering how scary she can get while acting, just like him playing volleyball )

junna: i want her to meet yamaguchi, tsukishima, & akaashi so badly it’s not even funny. junna & yamaguchi both share the struggle of having to carve out a place for yourself, of being overlooked & having to figure out things on your own. junna understands that so fucking well, man, it’s part of her entire arc!! which is why she isn’t satisfied even at the end of it; she’ll keep going, just like yamaguchi well. on the opposite end of this, i think tsukishima would be good for her to meet just as fellow smart people, as well as their passion. he’s blunt & he doesn’t mince words, & it’d be good for junna to take advice from him from time to time. she’s headstrong & incredibly empathetic; i feel like junna could help push him to fall for volleyball just a bit deeper. akaashi would be interesting, in part because they both pursued their passions for the same reason; they saw a shining star. that led akaashi to bokuto, & that led junna to the stage. they’re both mature & meticulate, but i think they can help each other just feel for a little while, pull each other out of panicking or overthinking too much.
