─Summary: you were trying to have a relaxing afternoon playing minecraft with the team and ended up making a new friend

It's your lucky day because I was thinking of updating this miniseries soon so… 👀

You sat on your chair, turning around a couple of times until decided that you should enter the Discord voice chat that you shared with the guys on the team, you didn't use it much, but it was fine when you all had to discuss some things about training. But today you weren't here for any of that. You clicked on the group icon, immediately being greeted by different voices.

"Are we all here?"

"I don't understand why I'm doing this."

"It will be fun Iwa-chan!"

You sighed silencing the group until you could enter the game,you had been very addicted these last few days playing Minecraft, so much so that you proposed to create a server to be able to connect with friends and play. You clicked on the logo waiting several minutes, when it was loaded you went back to Discord to let them know that they could enter the world now but you only heard screams and screams from your classmates calling you.

"(N)?"

"(Nn)? Have you forsaken us?"

"She's been online the whole time."

"Is she muted? It doesn't surprise who would want to listen to shittikawa?""

"Hey! shut up, I'll make a better house than yours and then I'll hunt you Iwa-chan!"

"That, that! Show him who's boss Oikawa."

Matsukawa's laughter was heard, encouraging the rivalry between friends.

"I don't think Iwaizumi will be defeated so easily, right?"

"I'll kill that idiot and have the best house."

"I bet on Oikawa."

"Huh? Really Makki? then I go for Iwaizumi."

"Oi don't bet on us!"

"Makki you have made a good choice! but what exactly are we betting?"

"Mmh, now that you mention it I don't know, any ideas guys?"

"Whoever loses pays for a dinner for the whole team."

Both parts agreed with the proposal that Kunimi had made, immediately reaching a deal, chaos would return to the chat if it weren't for a grunt and a blow, creating a silence, which you took advantage of to speak.

"Guys, you can join the server now."

"I'll win against Iwa-chan so that he and Mattsun pay!"

"I don't think it was a good idea to agree to join."

"Yahaba, don't be so negative, I'll help you with your house and get materials."

"Thank you (N), I really adore you."

"Could I also have some help?"

"Sure Kindaichi, I guess I'll have to help you with the main thing."

You all started with the basics, gather some wood, kill a couple of sheep, create a small house until it got dark. Right now you were playing alone without using voice chat, you were concentrating on mining until you heard an explosion followed by a message in the in-game chat.

You couldn't help but giggle as watched your companions foolishly die one after the other because of the creatures of the night.

You came out of your house armed with a stone sword, killing some zombies and skeletons, you met the first year boys who were trying not to get killed by a mini zombie that was running around like a demon. You got into a voice chat where only the three of you were, you were trying to help them.

"Help us please, we haven't finished the house yet."

"Sure, what do you need?"

"How do you make a torch?"

"Oh, Kunimi, let me guide you while Kindaichi finishes filling that hole with this."

You tossed Kindaichi some wood, then you explain to his partner how to craft some things, Kunimi really got interested in how to build a bed while the turnip boy was trying not to get hit by arrows. After a long while and ending up helping the third year pranksters a bit as well, you muted the voice chat again. You frowned looking at the game screen where a new message had appeared, apparently no one had noticed that another person had entered the game.

[Applepie has entered]

'I forgot to put a password to the server? what if they're a hacker or something? Nah.'

[(N): hello??]

[Applepie: oh I think I got the wrong serv]

[(N): don't worry, at least you're not a hacker or something]

[(N): or so I hope…]

[Applepie: I'm not]

[Applepie: Some servers are down and I thought this would be fine, your IP was open]

[(N): well it's just a server between friends, but you can stay and play :)]

[Applepie: thanks]

[Applepie: I think I'll stay, no lag here]

You practically spent the whole afternoon playing with the boy named Kenma, you both had a good time, apparently had some things in common.

"Then he left me in the tree for an hour."

"I should meet your friends, they seem interesting."

You laughed at Kenma's story, according to a very tall boy from his club, he left him on the branch of a tree to take a picture of him as if he were a kitten but forgot to come back for him.

"Your friends also seem… curious."

"Believe me, you couldn't bear to spend much time with them."

[King_Oikawa: i just finished my house]

[King_Oikawa: mattsun and Iwa will be paying the team a dinner!!]

[Mattsun777: sorry dude, i don't think so]

A 'tss' followed by an in-game explosion was heard, the characters of Kenma and you looked at each other silently wondering the same thing in their minds.

"Did they just blow up the house of that 'King Oikawa'?"

"Yeah, they're betting."

"I guess they take it very seriously."

"No one wants to pay a dinner for the entire team."

"Understandable."

You two continued to ignore the boys chatting about Oikawa's house, while you asked your online friend for help to build something like an area so they could fight for that dinner. The rest of the team seemed to be starting to understand the game more so they were exploring everything without any help from their manager.

"Kenma, are you playing again?"

A faint voice came over the call, as Kenma's character stopped.

"Don't you have to bother Lev or something?"

"No, I like to bother you." the voice was getting closer to the microphone "Are you playing with someone else?"

"Yes."

You laughed at the clear irritation of your recent friend, catching the newcomer's attention.

"Hey? Are you playing with a girl?"

"Yeah, and she's listening to you, so shut up."

"Hello! I'm Ku-"

There was a blow followed by curses, several whispers, and finally Kenma spoke again, irritation spilling over his tone.

"I'm disconnecting now, my friend is very annoying."

"Okay, see you Kenma."

"Bye (N)."

Before he could hang up you heard a scream over the line.

"Now I know her name!"

Returning to your team who were still arguing over who should pay, you decided that was enough. You went through all the houses not understanding how Mattsun and Makki had built a bunker out of diamond blocks, Kunimi and Kindaichi had accidentally burned down their house for trying to make a Nether portal, or how Kyotani was chasing Yahaba with a bucket of lava because apparently he had accidentally killed Kentaro's dog. You blinked a few times to laugh out loud hitting your desk and inadvertently joining the voice call again.

"What is (N) laughing at?"

"From your trash home Iwa-chan."

"The only garbage here is you."

[Iwaplay has killed King_Oikawa]

"Hey! That's cheating."

When your laughing fit stopped, you were able to speak correctly, still with a mocking smile on face, trying to stabilize yourself, since it began to hurt your chest from laughing so much.

"Guys, why are your houses totally blown up?"

Apparently neither Iwaizumi nor Oikawa were near their houses because just hearing what you said they screamed in surprise.

"WHAT?"

"NOO my house dude!"

This is a fic that I’ve only been able to read once. It’s really upsetting as it features Matsukawa in an abusive relationship with an OC and it’s just really hard to read. But this IS a cult classic, which MatsuHana doesn’t get ever, so I think it’s a must read if it’s not too triggering. I also want to say that even though the rating is explicit, all the sex featured is completely consensual. Again, this is a sad fic but it’s so well written and incredibly well done. I really do love it.

102 - Rock Me Amadeus by Falco

(translation to english)

His uncle has been calling him 'Rockstar' ever since Issei can remember. He never gave it much thought (just a cute little nickname he loved as a kid, so they kept it), until his uncle passes away when Issei is in his last school year. He's by his side in the hospital when it happens and softly shakes his head through tears when he's called by the nickname one last time. "I'm not actually a rockstar, y'know?" and his uncle squeezes his hand tightly; "You have the spirit of a rockstar, kid." and those are his last words. Issei thinks about them a lot.

Spirit of a rockstar. He brings it up with Hiro when they meet up after the funeral. They get Onigiri, because it's Issei's favorite and Hiro thinks food makes everything a little better, even when it doesn't, but to decline the treat just because it doesn't bring his uncle back would be unfair.

"Hm." Hiro has a habit of saying 'Hm' to buy himself time to think. "He's right though, if you think about it… I mean, I never really put a name on it, but 'Rockstar' kinda fits."

"Put a name on what?"

Hiro just vaguely gestures to all of him and Issei is no wiser than before.

His best friend's inimitable talent to be as unhelpful as humanly possible brings Issei to the realization that maybe this is something he has to work through on his own. And to look up a list of the biggest rockstars of all time to then examine their behavior in interviews, bts material and on stage might seem too simple to actually make sense, but he's always been the kind of guy to go for the easiest way. (Iwaizumi calls it laziness, Issei calls it efficiency. Work smarter, not harder.)

What most of the videos have in common is that there's a certain tension about them. Not in a sense where it feels like the journalist and the musician are moments away from attacking each other, but more in the sense where you get the impression that the musician is somehow above the journalist and everyone except the musician is aware of that. It's a mixture of awe and jealousy; they want to be like that person in the interviewee seat, they want to live in that world where they're different and special without even realizing it.

Issei notices a certain aloofness about most musicians he examines. Not careless, but also not too careful; a very relaxed mindset of someone who's not afraid of what the future holds and who has that kind of confidence which tells you that, no matter what, they'll make it. It probably comes naturally with being able to live out your dream, but Issei knows that it's not just that. As long as you know that there's always a choice and always an escape, you don't have to worry about anything. The aloofness isn't exclusive to rockstars, but they're apparently more likely to have it than others and maybe that's what his uncle was talking about.

"You have that too, y'know?" Hiro tells him after listening to all of this and he scoffs when Issei shakes his head. "Yes, you do. You have that… aura, that easygoing thing, I don't know…"

"Agreed," Oikawa chips in from his bed and peeks over his history book. "You never look like you give a damn. Not in a bad way, I mean."

"And you can't even believe it when we tell you." Iwaizumi spares him a quick, piercing glance. "You really fit all the criteria. If I turned on my TV tomorrow morning and you were some kind of icon and all over the news, I wouldn't be surprised."

Hiro claps his hands together loudly. "Hakuna Matata! That's what I was trying to say! You're totally Hakuna Matata!"

Issei doesn't try to prove them wrong after that. He's not so sure about what Iwaizumi said of him becoming an icon over night, but he definitely can't deny the Hakuna Matata part and, thinking about it, none of what they said is something bad. Just because he looks like he has no damns to give, doesn't mean that he doesn't actually care. He does care, he's just not as super careful and overbearing as others. And he's certainly not as scared, because the future will come no matter if you like it and to stress yourself over something inevitable is nothing but a waste of energy - in Issei's eyes, at least.

Maybe his uncle and friends are right after all. Maybe he really has the spirit of a rockstar and maybe it will take him just as far as some of the people he has spent so much time examining and analyzing. And Issei, for one, can't wait to see.

1) what originally drew me to it - so this was within my first year of finding anime, I watched some friend recommendations and the popular introductory animes of 2015 among these was Free! I watched it and ended up wanting to see more anime like it. You know, sports anime. So I watched Kuroko no Basket, Yowamushi Pedal, Slam Dunk etc. And one that kept popping up when I looked for knb fanart was Haikyuu. I was hesitant to start it bc at the time I had a really bitter relationship with volleyball like it was a messy break up and it literally hurt me to watch volleyball and not participate, but I was running out of sports anime and told myself "I'll watch one episode and only one and then I can say it's bad and not have any lingering desire to watch it" suffice to say I actually cried watching the first episode because I could relate to Hinata wanting to play volleyball and it slipping from his fingers. The rest is, as they say, history

6) a character I'd hang up on my wall and admire like a work of art - so fuckin many, but I'm thinking of 5 right now (and since it's the only character question imma name them all, my post, my rules)

- Oikawa, yes he is pretty but what I truly admire about him is his character. He gave me strength and determination during my first year of college while studying physics. He's just a fantastic character showcasing the resilience and determination and ambition of humanity

- Iwazumi Hajime (27) Athletic Trainer, that's all, thank you

- Bokuto, hot owl man with funny himbo energy, also just his own complexities as a character?? Just? Mwah

- Akaashi, THE MOST ETHERAL PERSON IN HAIKYUU, I WILL FIGHT ANYONE WHO SAYS OTHERWISE, HAVE YOU SEEN THAT FANART OF HIM SURROUNDED IN PURPLE FLOWERS?

- Yahaba, he's my little meow meow. He's my angsty pretty boy second gen captain who gave his teammate a gay crisis during a match, who the future first years are terrified of, he is my internalized homophobic fella, he is my cream puff, he is my bastard, he is my child of the sun (from a fanfic), he is iconic

13) the noncannon pairing I find the most intriguing - you are basically asking me to choose a favorite child agshsjs it's bad enough that you have the high school version of ships and the post high school version of ships but okay ummm I think overall it's kagehina, bokuaka, asanoya, and kyouhaba- in that order. But under the post high school lense I want to see it all. Tsukiyama friendship reunion that turns into something more, Ushiten long distance boyfriend goals, Oihina fling, Makki/Mattsun 'can I stay at your place while I get my feet under me', Iwaoi jealousy and pining, Kenhina, Kuroken, Bokuroo, Yaku/Lev, Aran/Kita, and so much more that I just want to put under a microscope and fuckin study

16) scene/moment that makes me emotional every single time - just, any meaningful Kagehina scene: on the stairs in episode 1 when Hinata makes his vow, when Hinata says your sets are great to me and Kageyama looks shaken to his core that anyone would ever say that, their fight in season 2, the moment when what they've been training seperately clicks together, when Hinata crowns Kageyama in season 4, and just- incase you aren't aware of spoilers and for those unaware of spoilers who see this in various ship tags- the direct tie to the first episode, Kageyama's story, their reunion match and how they look at each other like true life long rivals, and the end how they are also true life long partners- God just, them

19) AU's you want to see - Timeskip aus thank you that's all agshsjd but with that I also have a great love for aus that keep the teams as a formalized groups. So, royalty aus where each team is a kingdom, or mafia aus where they are their own gang. It fills a specific niche in my brain
