this summer started this burning in my heart to always be moving. i thought that once i was away at school i would settle down, but the burning has only intensified. when i’m at school, i either want to be on the el going down to chicago, or on the metra train going “home” to see d. and m., or just wandering around evanston or chicago, or walking on the beach, or on the bus traveling to pittsburgh or dc. when i’m at home, i want to be riding my bike to the library, or skateboarding down my street, or driving through the suburbs, or to the beach, or out to parkside. i walk so much these days - to classes and stores and just for the fuck of it. it doesn’t matter if its raining or cold or excruciatingly hot - i have to move.

of course i take breaks sometimes. to go to class (but i skip a lot), to study (but never in my dorm room - always on the train or at a coffee shop), to write something, to film something, to take a photograph, to play guitar, to smoke a cigarette, to wish on stars, to buy a record, to drink coffee or tea, to get drunk, to read a good book or watch a good film or have a good conversation. maybe i’ll stop to make a mix tape or work on my zine or do a little hedgecore. occasionally i’ll eat or sleep or wash - three things i don’t do so much anymore cos there are so many amazing things to do and not enough hours in the day or night to fit them in.

i don’t need as much STUFF as i used to, which is good because i’m broke all the time. as long as i have a pen and paper and a pack of cigs, a few bucks for the el and coffee, a good mix tape in my walkman, a hooded sweatshirt, and some cool shoes…i am content.

I don’t remember when/where I bought it but I keep it in the rotation for a reason. The original is from a #GilmanStreet recording session tape deck manned by “Edge.” The quality is questionable but I like the artwork (the bands touring vehicle) and it’s fun 7” to listen to.
