Fantasies He…
BABY’S FIRST FIC!!!
Author’s notes: So after reading so many for years I thought maybe it’s my turn to take a crack at it. There’s I think 3 parts to this, with the first one having basically no smut and mostly platonic fluff between Az and Feyre, but part 3? Can’t say the same thing for the middle Archeron sister lmao
I swear this started out to be one part but the story told me otherwise, part 2 is fully drafted I’m just revising and editing
Tumblr media
I’m a very visual person, so enjoy the floor plan of the nursery and a rough sketch of what I think her mural would be and the star! I am a painter if it wasn’t obvious so the whole portion on starfall stars is actually based on how Bob Ross paints his northern lights, just with modifications BUT I haven’t tried it myself for this specific purpose. Also the colour of Feyre and Rhys’s stars are the colours of the first ones that hit them during Starfall btw! I love the platonic relationships between the inner circle and we don’t get enough of it
If you enjoyed it I would love u forever if you let me know!! :)
Ps. Omg dialogue is so difficult to make realistic but also in character, none of that “hey big brother” etc. shit you see in tv shows where you’re like who tf says that to their sibling ?? Ps.ps. I haven’t taken an English writing class for 5 years so if punctuation was wrong let’s pretend it wasn’t LMAO
I CANT FIGURE OUT HOW TO DO AO3 LINK BUT IT’S ON THERE WITH THE SAME USERNAME LOL SORRY
Summary:
Azriel spends the day with Feyre, only to get caught in the rain on the way home. Good thing the townhouse is empty. Or is it…
CHAPTER ONE: DAYDREAMING
The rain finally decided to make its appearance as Azriel stepped out of the River house. Taking a deep breath, he let the soothing scent wash over him as he relaxed his wings.
The meeting with Rhys was short, just a weekly update on the goings around the other courts and allies, nothing that required the full inner circle to make an appearance. Something he knew after centuries of this work should be a good thing, but it doesn’t stop the pang in his chest at the missed opportunity of seeing her.
Not that he didn’t try to catch a glimpse of her. He did take a walk through the beautiful home his brother had built for his mate after seeing him, the smell of cedar and masonry long since faded from the construction days; replaced with flowers and candles and the dinner his shadows whispered Nuala and Cerridwen were working on. The scent of paint lingered though, and he discovered the reason why as he got to the residential wing. His High Lady wasn’t in her studio, but he found her nonetheless with a brush in her tattooed hand.
“I think you missed a spot.” Az said from the doorway, trying to repress his smile at her startled reaction. Even though Feyre and Rhys opted for doorways fashioned with wings in mind, he kept his drawn in tight, not wanting to risk smearing her paint as he stepped inside.
“Rhys won’t let me use the step ladder without him holding it. And me. And the bump.” Feyre twisted to look up from her spot on the floor and smiled in greeting before lowering the brush to pat her stomach in emphasis. She gave her mate’s antics an affectionate eye roll and shake of her head before releasing a heavy sigh, glancing back at her work.
“If I remember correctly,” Az teased, “you are prone to falling quite spectacularly.”
She let out an indignat squawk so loud he had to bite his lips to prevent laughing, her body spinning so fast to face him fully that paint ended up splattering from her brush to the white drop cloth.
Their flying lessons had ceased for the most part since the war, so watching her fly into a tree or eat rocks wasn’t as common an occurrence— but that’s not to say that still doesn’t happen. Knowledge he happens to be privy to not just as her flight teacher, but as the spymaster, something she’s very aware of if the narrowing of her eyes and mouth hanging open are any indication.
It’s hard not to notice the similarities between the sisters, when even with your eyes closed the cadence of their speech was also similar. But it was never so apparent between youngest and oldest Archeron as when Feyre’s eyes pinned him in place, the expression of mock outrage was so much like Nesta’s it was almost comical.
“Ruuuude,” she said, drawing the word out in a whine with pouted lips, no doubt remembering the amount of face plants he’d witnessed when she first began to fly. “I see how you treat your High Lady, Shadowsinger. Just wait, it’s not too late for me to paint a little something in your bedroom.”
“And here I thought pouting and grumbling was beneath royalty, at least you can say you’re a tree hugger.”
She gave him a gesture that was certainly beneath royalty, and he didn’t hold back his chuckle this time.
“What gave you that idea, have you even met Rhys?”
“Oh trust me, you should’ve seen him when we were kids.” He said, grabbing her hands to help her stand. “He discovered in a book that while bat wings look identical to ours, the anatomy of their wing is labeled similar to that of the hand. So for them, their talons are their thumbs. After that, he took it upon himself to hang upside down in silent protest whenever he was mad, but didn’t want his mother to wash his mouth out with soap for swearing.”
“He did not.”
“Mhmm, until his faced turned purple.”
“And where were you and Cass for all this?” Feyre said through her giggling, a wide grin of unrestrained joy plastered on her face.
“He couldn’t have done it alone, a thumbs down by yourself would look stupid.”
“Ah yes, because the three of you hanging upside down like overgrown bats isn’t ridiculous.” She cackled, “How long until he gave it up?”
“A few weeks. After Cassian passed out in the middle of camp and we all got broken capillaries on our faces. Still, a better alternative than the awful tasting soap in Illyria.”
“What, as opposed to other tasting soap?” He just shrugged, smiling.
Rhys’s mom’s reaction to warriors dragging them across the rocky ground home was as lively in his memory as she was when she berated them when her son fessed up. She was less thrilled to hear the real reason than Devlon was having passed out children strewn about the place, but she never did call them out on the lie they fed to Devlon about it being a dare when he came banging on their door. That night though when they were more lucid, she brought them on foot to one of the mountains surrounding their outpost and stood them at the opening of a cave. He still remembers the eyes he felt on them, the warning bells ringing from his shadows as she gestures her hands out and said, “If you want to act like bats, you can join them; or you can toughen up, learn how and when to pick battles and what hills are worth to dying on. Because there will be more people who will piss you off, but this is not an option when you’re leading armies. So,” her hazel eyes meeting each of theirs, “What will it be? Do you want to stay here or take the soap and fly right on home.” Needless to say they bolted home with the taste of pine tar suds coating their mouths like a film no amount of water could rid them of the taste. He could still feel the eyes of whatever was in that cave the entire way home, but thank the cauldron he could fly at that point. His heart ached at the memory of the female, the one he knew picked a low cave for him to make her point, just in case. The one his shadows caught a few times after that upside down on the couch after a rough day when she thought she was alone.
As Feyre’s amusement continued with eyes glazed over—no doubt having a silent conversation with Rhys—Az cleared his throat, his shadows pulling back as he gestured to their surroundings and asked, “So how’s the nursery coming along?”
“It’s going great,” she replied after a moment, her laughter subsiding as she surveyed the mural.  “I know it’s not geographically correct, and that Starfall and the time when our courts insignia’s stars show don’t overlap, but I couldn’t not include them. I want  him and any possible future child to see the night court as I did when I first fell in love with it and their dad.”
Indeed, while he knew Rhys was already in love with her, he got to watch Feyre love him back as much as he deserved in real time the longer she was here. And the way she captured the land they all loved so much here was… breathtaking.
On the wall that held the doorway he just stepped through lay the mountain with the moonstone palace atop it. The first place she saw here. They both knew where the doors to Hewn city rest below, but it was covered by the landscape. As if there were no room for nightmares in this room, even if it was a court this babe may one day rule.
“I have no idea how you made that mountain so realistic,” he said to her in awe, pointing to the painting adjacent to the wall they just looked at.
“The crib is going to go right below it when the rooms done. I want it to watch over him.” She replied almost reverently as she looked up.
The mountain was the tallest of the three she painted, and it looked just as it had on his trek up there with his brothers during the rite. Physically it was practically stone for stone, those three stars lines up overhead perfectly, but the energy differed. Instead of the cold and foreboding thing he remembered on the way up, it seemed almost… euphoric? As if the wild joy and love Rhysand, Cassian and he felt as they made their way to the top and won seeped its way onto the painting. Like the unyielding strength from that mountain and what it brought out of them would guide and protect him, just like it did for the three winged dots surrounding the monolith at the tip. How that was even possible was beyond him.
He could barely tear his gaze away, but snickered as he saw the tiny but recognizable building at the base of it to the right. “The cabin, huh?”
“Of course, gotta prep him for one day kicking all of your asses during your snowball fight.” She added, blushing. “I put few snowballs flying just for good luck.”
Though he knew the other reason the cabin was significant to Feyre and Rhys, the thought of his future nephew joining their game warmed him. But It did make trying not to focus on other non-winged and winged babies that could one day join in the snowball fight impossible. Children have always been an abstract idea, a figment he knew existed but besides Rhys’s sister, he wasn’t around. And after what happened to her… He thought for a long time he would never have one of his own, but that sentiment start to change in recent years. He could avoid it most days though, but being surrounded by the baby stuff made the hypothetical harder to ignore. The thoughts on if he’d have his own little ones propped on his hip and curled into his chest with their chubby cheeks and inquisitive eyes. If they would have his hazel or her golden brown ones, or something different if they adopted. Would their little hands or clothes or hair get caught in the scales of his armour just like hers did when he took her on her first flight to the town house from the House of Wind, when he held her for the first time. Would Elain… Az paused, stopping that train of thought before it just twisted the knife even further, seeing more things he can’t have.
His shadows began to circle him, and if Feyre noticed she politely didn’t comment on it before pointing out what she was working on when he interrupted her.
To the right of the cabin and right were she was sat Velaris, and it really did look like a city of starlight with how she painted the glowing nightscape. He could make out the four markets that were the heart of the city, with extra emphasis on where the town house sat along with the new residence they were currently in. Bisecting through it all, the Sidra River looked so realistic he could probably skip a rock across its surface. It flowed like a living thing, reflecting the lights from the buildings on its edge and even the stars above. Two of which weren’t normal stars.
Above the city proper and even the flat topped mountain that held the House of Wind was the beginnings of starfall.
“How-“Azriel could barely get out, “how is this even possible?”
“Perks of now being immortal; plenty of time to practice. And having a husband with wings who takes you to get aerial views.” She simply said gesturing to their city, as if she didn’t create magic with swipes of colours.
“The green one is mine, and the light blue one is Rhys’s. I’m planning to get everyone to add their own star to the wall.” Now looking him, she smirked. “Which means you came at a perfect time, Shadowsinger. Your turn.”
He gave her an unbelieving expression, shadows instantly vanishing. “You can’t be serious.”
Her eyes twinkled with mischief, “if I trust Cassian with a paintbrush, you’ll be fine. He’s coming by in a few days when he gets a free moment, Nesta and her two friends are keeping him busy with training.” Nesta is keeping him busy with more than just that, it’s a wonder he even has energy to train them.
But looking at Rhysand’s mate, Azriel saw her glow in a way different from her powers. Feyre radiated joy as her hand cradled her stomach despite barely showing, not caring about paint getting on her already splattered clothes. For his brother, for the friend beside him and his nephew in her womb, he removed his jacket and let out a resounding sigh in defeat. “What do you need me to do?”
So Feyre excitedly brought him over to her pile of paint tubes on the drop cloth. She grabbed the white and as he selected the colour phthalo blue she went off to prep the clean, dry brushes and a fresh palette for him.
“So pick the area of the sky you want your star to be, I’d like to keep the inner circle’s additions mostly above Velaris, but I’ll add tiny ones fading out once everyone is done. Amren and Mor are away, Cass is busy and who knows if or when Nesta would want to contribute. That means besides Rhys and I, you have the pick of the litter.”
“What about Elain?” He asked, trying to keep his voice and face as neutral as possible when she handed him a 3 inch brush already dipped in his blue.
“I’ll drag her in here after dinner when she gets in from the garden. The colour of the sky is already dry which is the important part, so there’s no time constraint on when everyone adds theirs besides my due date.” She gave him a knowing smile which he dutifully ignored, along with the disappointment in his chest as she confirmed Elain wasn’t in. “Now I want you to cover a large area of where you generally want the shape of the star to go, it doesn’t have to be perfect but cover much more than you think you’d need to.”
He hesitates, “won’t this cover up your sky? It’s a dark colour.”
“Just trust me.”
He followed her instructions, cringing as his brush made contact with her beautiful wall and went over the faint background stars she had already done, but relaxed when he saw they were still partially visible.
Az looked back at her, seeing his shadows lazily inspecting them, as if they wanted a part in the activity their master is occupied with. Feyre playfully eyed the curious one that grazed her hand as she took his current brush from his scarred hand to switch it. “Now with this fan brush, I want you to coat it in the white paint. And as you do so, get a feel for how the bristles bend and move.”
Doing as High Lady said, he got her guidance once he brought the loaded brush to the wall, being sure to dab, not swipe the white in a near full coverage circle followed by a line over the shade of blue he had no idea how to pronounce.
“So this is where the magic begins,” she stated when he finished and passed a third brush over, a flat paddle one identical to the first and this time a cloth. “You see that perfectly clean teardrop you made? You’re gonna ruin it.”
At the alarmed look he gave her, she just cackled. “I knew you’d make that face, Rhys did the exact same. I want you to very lightly swipe the brush starting at the largest end of the teardrop and out towards the tail of the star. That’s the only motion you’ll be doing. And after each swipe you can gently wipe off the brush before starting again. You can also practice the strokes around the mountain until you feel ready like Rhys did, the sky there is also dry.”
With a deep breath, he took a step away and tried it until he felt like he got the technique she wanted down. This was for his family, he reminded himself, he will not let his nephew down. And despite getting her nod of approval, he still felt like he was going in blind as he did what she said and his jaw dropped.
Well shit. Now he understood why she wanted him to put down the colour he chose first.
“The blue is actually transparent; so while it looks dark in the tube, it blends out much lighter. Especially with white under or overtop. You’re doing wet-on-wet blending.” What was once just a bright blob over blue so dark you couldn’t see it on her perfect walls, he could now see how the white faded. How the light and the dark mixed until they became one. So Az wiped the excess off his brush, and continued on and on until it looked similar enough to what she and Rhys created. They fell into a rhythm, Feyre handing him back the fan brush to brighten or a new one with bristles so impossibly soft as they worked as a team. She barely had to tell him what to do now, so with next to no pressure he feathered it out vertical rather than the almost horizontal strokes from before, until only a streak of blue light remained. They could’ve been at this for minutes or hours, he had no idea. He didn’t even question her instruction to use a densely bristled tool he could’ve sworn was a toothbrush to flick on watered down white paint for the star trail.
“This is incredible, Feyre.” He stated, stepping back at last.
“That wasn’t me, that was all you my friend.” She grinned at him. “Once everyone’s is dry, I’m adding a sheer shimmery paint to make them pop, but even without it you did a beautiful job.”
He felt heat rise to his face, and inclined his head in thanks without removing his eyes from the wall.
“You certainly have an eye for this, Az. Care to quit and become a painter? I could use an assistant.”
A chill went through him, and he started to turn in her direction before the window caught his attention. Dusk must have fallen along with the rain who knows how long ago. About to rub his temples, Feyre squeaked out a warning before he remembered the task at hand and looked down at himself. The plain black long sleeve shirt covered in splatters didn’t matter, he goes through them like water for work but the paint coating his skin made his stomach drop the same way her jest did. Much different than the red he was used to seeing there, all the blood he still couldn’t wash away.
He can paint a picture with his knife, but nothing like Feyre’s ability of creation. Each slash he makes as delicate and precise a dance as any Nesta favours, but instead it’s to a symphony of screams. And unlike Elain… the only soil he sees is grave dirt. If the bodies make it that far.
His work is never meant to been seen by others, it’s means to and end, a way to protect his family and his court. Unlike their work, where it would be a crime to hide it from the world.
“Tempting offer, Cursebreaker,” Az murmured, swapping the dirty cloth for a damp one his shadows brought him. Paying close attention to his siphons and not his scars, he still didn’t feel clean enough no matter how hard he wiped the paint from his skin. “Sadly, I don’t think your mate would be too thrilled to have to hire someone else to feed the creatures in Hewn City.”
She snorted, making a lighthearted comment about at least no one had to feed Byraxis, for now… The forced tease in her voice didn’t fool him as she realized she must’ve hit a nerve, but he appreciated her effort anyway.
“I do have to head out, but I’ll pop by soon to see the progress when I drop off paperwork.” He told her, his lips pressed to the top of her head and shockingly made contact with her hair in a brief farewell. Rhys must’ve lessened the shield knowing Az was with her, but not by much considering both her and the babe’s scent was still concealed.
Feyre did invited him to stay for dinner which he politely declined. It wouldn’t be served for an hour, but he needed space and to fly to clear his head—still feeling like if he looked down he’d be dripping blood that didn’t belong to him as he made his was out. He did try not to rush out as he walk through the maze of supplies strewn about the covered floor, keeping his wings high even as his shadows tugged at him, but he had a feeling she knew his reason for leaving. Well, at least the other reason.
Lightning cracks through the sky, snapping Azriel out of his memories. Damn, He must be more tired than he thought. If breaking one of the cardinal rules of flying—also known as “PAY ATTENTION JACKASS!” by his brothers when they taught him—wasn’t enough, he’s not even going to the right place. Despite not living there for years, he’d been heading towards the town house and not the House of Wind.
The storm just seems to be picking up, but at least with the downpour he no longer felt the warm spray of blood coating him rather than the paint, he just felt nothing at all. Well, nothing besides wanting to get the fuck home. Az really didn’t have the energy to fly up a mountain or winnowing through this even if it wouldn’t be his first time. But considering how often lightning hits the rocks rather than the surrounding city, crashing at the town house is easiest. It’s for the best, with it sitting empty now. At least he’d be alone.
Az pauses mid-flight though, when he notices the lights already on inside. And the smoke rising from the chimney only to dissipate in the rain.
What the hell? Who would be dumb enough to break into their high lord and inner circle’s home? It’s not like it’s broadcasted who owns the house but it’s pretty common knowledge after this long.
At least storms can be a great tool for his field of work, it’s almost a blessing in disguise he plans to use to its full advantage. Landing atop the roof as gently as possible, he ensures his wing beat blends in with the rain like it has hundreds of times before. Using his siphons to unlock the door and slipping inside, the creak of the hinge merely just a gust of wind as he shuts it behind him.
That’s when the smell of jasmine and honey hits him so strongly he has to bite back his moan. But it seems like he was the only one who did.
Because mixed within that scent ingrained in his brain, is Elain’s arousal.
And she’s…
Oh fuck.
Fuck fuck fuck fuck

festival time :3c
falling stars fic masterpost
The construction zone was long and winding. Sonic and Shadow's race took them all the way through it, and the farther in they got, the more metallic their surroundings became. Green steel dominated everything, and hazards were abundant. Whatever they were building here was still far from finished.
The motobug swerved around cones and barriers, and even weaved in and out of stray beams whenever it felt like Sonic could fit. They had lost sight of Shadow awhile ago, but his dusty footprints were illuminated by the tall street lights lining their path, so they knew he wasn't far ahead.
After leaping over a small gap in the lattice floor, Sonic spotted something crumpled on the ground up ahead, and made sure to snatch it as the motobug drove past. It was a poster.
Eventually, the construction zone came to an end. Shadow was waiting for them at the foot of a flashing billboard. In big, shimmering letters, it read: WELCOME TO STARLIGHT, THE CITY THAT SHINES IN THE DARK.
"You certainly took your time," Shadow said, his smirk from before still on his face.
"Hey! Not my fault Buggy wanted to do a little sightseeing." Sonic stuck his tongue out at Shadow, teasing him. The race had put him in a good mood, even though he had lost.
Shadow rolled his eyes. "Blaming the robot for your defeat, hedgehog?" His smirk faded, and his attention fell to the poster in Sonic's hands. Then, he asked, "You picked up a souvenir?"
Sonic shrugged. "Eh, it's not much. Just figured it shouldn't be left around as litter." He smoothed out the poster, looking it over curiously. When he read through it, a smile appeared on his face. "Looks like we showed up right on time! These guys are having a festival right now!"
"Let me see that," Shadow said. Sonic handed him the poster, and then Shadow confirmed the blue hedgehog's statement. "The Starfall Festival?" he murmured. It didn't ring a bell, but according to the advertisement, this would be the 100th annual celebration.
"Can't go wrong with a festival," Sonic said. "There's always food, drinks, and fun! Sounds like a real bash to me--we should totally check it out!"
Shadow rubbed his thumb thoughtfully over the poster. Sure, it sounded like fun. However, "Fun isn't my priority," he said. "I'm more concerned with the truth. About myself--and about you, as well."
Sonic considered this. The motobug beeped, also considering. Sonic reached down and scratched its cheek, causing the motobug to beep again, happier this time.
"Well," Sonic began, "if there's one thing I know about parties, it's that most people like 'em. So, there's bound to be a bunch of people at the festival, 'specially one as big as this. Maybe someone there will know something about what happened to us?"
Shadow was satisfied with that answer. He figured that Starlight City wasn't too far from where they had originally woken up, and so the likelihood of them encountering someone who had information about their situation was non-zero. At the very least, that crater they had found themselves in and the damaged forest that surrounded it was sure to have made a lot of noise. Enough noise to have been heard from the next city over, if they were lucky.
But first, they would need to get inside the city. And that proved to be a problem when, after walking up to the security checkpoint, the lady at the counter paled at the sight of them. She pointed a shaking finger at the robot Sonic was riding on, and said, "No, no! I won't allow it!"
Sonic and Shadow looked at each other. The motobug chirped nervously.
"You got a problem with robots?" Sonic asked, raising an eyebrow.
The security officer reeled back. Only her eyes were visible now, peeking out from over the top of the counter she was hiding behind. She seemed unwilling to take her eyes off the motobug. "Yes! Yes, when they're… those robots."
Sonic made a face. Then, he looked down at the motobug. The robot looked back up at him with its wide electronic eyes.
After giving the little robot a reassuring pat, Sonic asked the lady, "What's wrong with them?"
The security officer's nostrils flared. Her fear retreated to make room for anger, and she stood up to her full height--though she remained behind the safety of the counter. "Those little beasties are the reason why I can't sleep at night!" she spat. "They're like locusts! If they'd never come to our town, I wouldn't have to deal with all the jackhammers trying to rebuild everything!"
Shadow remembered his reservations from earlier. He frowned at the motobug before turning to the lady and asking, "Your town was destroyed by robots like this one?"
The lady's eyes flashed. Her wool, which was already very puffy, puffed up even more at the question. "Destroyed?" she repeated, her voice dripping with hatred. But then she sighed, and her death grip on her clipboard loosened slightly. "No, no," she said, sounding tired now. "Not destroyed… but almost. Pest control took care of it--or so I thought. Guess they missed one."
Shadow's eyebrows furrowed. That would explain why they had found the robot alone, deserted in the middle of the construction zone. And why it had been terrified at the sight of them. It was probably thinking they were there to finish the job, and exterminate it.
The motobug tapped its claws together anxiously. Shadow saw this, saw Sonic still riding on its back and as such, able to rest his broken leg, and decided to drop whatever reservations he still had about the little robot.
"It won't do you any harm now," Shadow said seriously. "We will make sure of that."
Sonic flashed the lady a thumbs up. "If you guys can rebuild, so can this little guy. Turning over a new leaf starts with being given a second chance, right?"
Pressing her lips into a hard line, the security officer looked down at the motobug. It spun its antennas in a slow circle, its eyes pointed at the floor. It looked so different now from how she remembered it--all caught up in a swarm of hundreds, thousands of them, their sharp metal pincers smashing through windows and breaking down doors.
They had almost ruined the festival. Almost.
"You hedgies better not make me regret this," she muttered. Then, she set down her clipboard, and pulled out a big yellow sticker from a drawer behind the counter. It was in the shape of a star. "Put this on it," she said, holding out the sticker to Sonic. "It's a pass. For the Starfall Festival."
Sonic grinned. He took the sticker from her eagerly. "Thanks!" he said.
Shadow watched as Sonic peeled the sticker off the sheet, and then stuck it on the motobug's forehead. The little robot looked up at it curiously, and to itself, it wondered what Eggman would think of the sparkly new decal. But it was best to reserve its meager processing power for the blue hedgehog, so it quickly stopped wondering.
Gesturing towards the city, the security officer said, "Head to Main Street for the directory, we've got a few extra events this year for the anniversary. There's a bulletin posted around somewhere too. Oh, and"--she cast a cold glance at the motobug--"if I hear anything about your beastie, I'll get pest control on the phone before you can say 'vermin.'"
With that threat in mind, the motobug drove Sonic to Main Street with Shadow walking alongside them. The city unfolded in front of them, big and bright and exciting. There were twinkling lights strung up on every corner, guard rail, and street lamp. More than that, there were people everywhere; some of them were holding sparklers, some of them were enjoying a yummy treat from one of the festival's many vendors, and some of them were painting murals of the night sky on the ground.
It was a welcome change from the oppressive emptiness of the ghost town. Even though the abundance of noise set Shadow on edge, it felt good to be heading towards a goal again. This time, the goal was a vendor, and the hedgehogs had the straightforward mission of finally getting some food.
The directory in the middle of Main Street showed them the way. And after turning a corner, they found themselves in the middle of a grassy pavilion.
The pavilion was filled with games, rides, and most importantly, food. Sonic urged the motobug towards the closest one, a chilidog vendor. The smell wafting from the cart enamored Sonic and made his empty stomach growl loudly.
The vendor chuckled at this, his blotchy red cheeks softening with a smile. "Enjoy," he said as he handed Sonic a fresh chilidog. He didn't ask for payment--the festival goodies were always free.
The gooey cheese, the tall stack of chili, the perfectly toasted bun… it all came together to create the most beautiful work of art that Sonic had ever seen. He was sure that it would've tasted amazing even if he wasn't starving, but his empty stomach cranked up the deliciousness factor to 11. He barely held himself back from eating it all in one bite--but he knew it would be really embarrassing if he choked on it. So, he ate it in two instead.
"Stripes, you gotta try this!" Sonic said, his eyes sparkling like a hundred million diamonds. Yes, he was really that excited about it.
Shadow looked uncertainly at the chilidog the vendor was holding out to him. He wasn't smitten with it like Sonic was. He was finally starting to get a little hungry, though. So, he took it, and took a single mousy bite. Sonic waited intently for his reaction, and was somewhat disappointed when all he could say about it was, "It's edible."
Sonic's disappointment was forgotten, however, when Shadow handed him the chilidog.
"I must admit," Shadow said, the tiniest hint of amusement in his voice, "I wasn't expecting to uncover a truth about your past so soon."
"Oh, yeah? And what's that?" Sonic asked, already done eating the second chilidog and looking happier than ever. His face was a disaster, his cheeks covered in cheese and chili.
Shadow grabbed a napkin and dropped it on Sonic's head. "You're a mess."
Sonic snorted. "I was hungry!" came his indignant reply. He still took the napkin, though.
They continued on through the pavilion. There was a vendor for everything from spaghetti to ice cream to spaghetti ice cream, but none of them appealed all that much to Shadow. That was, however, until they came across a stand selling cakes. The irony was not lost on him, but when he cut into the slice of coffee cake and saw no green slime pour out, he figured the joke ended there. And it did--the cake had a bitter edge, and he found he liked the taste.
Meanwhile, Sonic tried his own slice of coffee cake and hated it. He had better luck with the more savory cheesecake.
By now, a few people in the pavilion had started staring at the motobug that Sonic was using as a scooter, and so Shadow quickly threw his plate away and ushered his companions out of the pavilion. The street they stepped onto was tighter than the wide open pavilion, with booths set up on both sides of the street. Festival goers had to squeeze past each other to get to the more popular booths.
It was when they passed by an unpopular booth that Shadow's ears perked up. He heard the woman at the table mention something about real shooting stars. He motioned for the motobug to stop, and it did, parking itself in front of the woman's ornate golden table.
The woman flashed a dazzling smile. "That's odd," she said, her big glasses catching the festival lights like a kaleidoscope. "I know everyone, but I don't know you. Are you folks new in town?"
"Brand new," Sonic replied. "Gotta say, I wasn't expecting all this fanfare, but I'd never flake on my own welcome party!"
"Ha!" The woman leaned forward, her eyes glittering. "Funny guy. I like you." She slid over a photo album from where it was sitting on the other end of the table. Then, she pushed it forward, in front of Sonic and Shadow. "This festival has a lot more history than you might think. See for yourself."
Shadow flipped open the album. Inside, there was an old black and white photograph of the night sky. Although it was grainy, the focal point of the photo was clearly the white smudge in the middle--a shooting star? When Shadow turned more pages, he saw that every page had a similar photo, one for every year from the past 100 years.
And the one from this year…
"Weird, right?" the woman said. "Every year we've seen a falling star, but this year we saw two."
Sonic and Shadow looked at the picture. It was in full glossy color, so the details were easy to pick out, like how the two stars seemed tangled together. Their twin tails streaked across the sky in an array of colorful fire, plummeting down to the forest below.
The two hedgehogs shared a look. Then, Shadow asked the woman, "When was this taken?"
With a long, bejewelled fingernail, the woman tapped her chin. "That one? Hmm… Three days ago, maybe four." She sighed wistfully. "It's a shame you folks didn't get here sooner. It was quite the sight to see! And right after that hubbub with the moon, too."
Sonic's ear twitched. He looked up at the clear night sky, and stared at the broken moon. It stared back at him silently.
"The sky's been a busy place recently," the woman continued. "First the moon, then the space station, and finally that pair of falling stars. It makes me wonder if that little planet will pay us a visit soon, too. I guess only time will tell!"
Shadow was quiet. He was thinking about what the woman had said. It caused one of the echoes to get louder in his brain, bouncing down the empty hallways of his mind until it was all he could hear. The space station… he knew it. He could picture it. See himself, pressing his hand up against the window. Looking down at the pale blue planet below.
Gently, Sonic nudged Shadow's shoulder.
The dark hedgehog snapped out of the memory instantly. "What happened to the space station?" he asked.
The woman blinked. "Oh, I'm not sure. I think it's still up there somewhere." The strange look on Shadow's face gave her pause. Then, she added, "They've been talking about it on the news for awhile. I just don't care to listen, since most of the reports are sponsored by G.U.N."
Shadow frowned. That uncomfortable acronym again…
The woman placed a small sack on the table. "Well," she said, "thanks for listening to an old crow squawk. In honor of the centennial celebration, please take this."
Sonic grabbed the sack with interest. Inside were two golden earrings shaped like stars. Grinning, he clipped one on immediately. Then, he held the other one out to Shadow. Shadow, however, wasn't nearly as enthusiastic about the jewellery, and was about to say as much, when Sonic asked slyly, "What's the matter? Afraid of a little bling?"
Scowling, Shadow snatched the earring from him and clipped it on with a huff. "Of course not," he said. "Don't be ridiculous, Blue."
Then, Sonic waved goodbye to the woman at the booth, and the two hedgehogs continued down the crowded street. They were now headed towards the tallest building in the city, the one with the bulletin board posted on it. They could see the screen glowing bright white as they approached it, but it wasn't until they were directly under it that they could read what was on it.
Make a wish for the hero, Sonic the Hedgehog. Late, but never slow.
There was a blurry photo under the text. It was of a hedgehog, but his features were unclear thanks to the low quality of the picture. Shadow couldn't help but wonder why they chose that one. Maybe every photo of the guy was a blur of motion?
Sonic turned to Shadow. Then, he looked back at the bulletin board. "Hey, Stripes," he said slowly, "that guy looks kinda like you."

oh hey um. epilepsy warning for the frontiers dlc? during starfall events, as you pick up items, the upper left menu will pulse in size and strobe bright colors for a while. it is NOT full screen but the way its moving I wouldn't be surprised if it gave plenty of people headaches at the minimum.

hey guys, i remembered about my Night Island. a little update. 1. Rare Orbat. i.. uhg. idk what i should say about her. but i like her design so much. 2-3. seasonal event - Starfall Celebration. and a seasonal monster - Starrett. He has two versions of the tracks: 1) the stars on his back/crest and on his body blink with a synth sound. it is somewhat similar to Sprinklate from TLL. 2) the twinkling of the stars on his body continues, but apart from that he also stomps his paws. I didn't prepare a seasonal skin for the island (I was too lazy). but I think there would be a lot of comets, stellar elements, telescopes on it.. probably just something that is associated with a starfall and other things. the colors would be more contrasting, darkened and would be closer to blue and yellow-green. 4. Night island mythical yeeeasss!!!! Whulf. its sound is similar to the howl of a wolf (I think this is logical..). it plays mainly in the background. and... uuehhh. idk, remembers someone or not, but i said that this island has Ghazt. and i want to replace it to Grumpyre. maybe, he will feat better with this island atmosphere. that's all i wanted to say. (if u have questions: my ask always open!)

Welp, as was promised in the days of yore (roughly a month and a half ago), today we're celebrating ThOCursday, aka a day for making and playing with original characters in the Starfall world.
To me, OCs are one of the best shows of love in a fandom. It's kind of like saying, "I don't want to just play with this world, I want to be part of it," and I'd love to give our fans every reference they need to jump in.
So, below the cut, I'm listing a whole bunch of details you can use to start building your own Starfall OCs - and if you have any questions on other details you have filled in, or just wanna jabber about character ideas and want to hear how they'd fit in, then send in an ask to get your query answered!
(And hey, don't forget that if you contribute to our crowdfunding campaign, you can get the Troupes On Carts guide, which has even more details on how to build your characters)
Have fun with it!
Setting
Starfall is set in a secondary fantasy world - specifically in a continent now known as Falsten.  There is also a state called Falsten.  There is also the capital of that state, called Falsten.  Which is definitely not confusing for anyone.
Aside from the various Falstens, there are also 12 states, all of which used to be independent kingdoms and nations until they were “united” within the Falstenian Empire.  Again - definitely not confusing.
Those states, and some basic information on each, are as follows:
Eriss: a state in south-central Falsten; known for being one of the most conservative states and the most ardent supporters of Falstenian rule; were historically known as the kingdom with the greatest military might and the most frequently engaged in warfare
Torland: a state in southern Falsten; people from this kingdom are broadly characterized as being dull and lazy, unenthusiastic participants of the Empire’s aims; were historically known as a kingdom of great passion where song, dance, and personal craft flourished
Duosoud: a state in northern Falsten; people from Dusoud are broadly characterized as being as harsh and isolated as their cold territory makes them; formerly a kingdom based strongly on ideas of community and interconnectivity, even across borders and distance; a cold and rather mountainous climate
Krinos: a state in southern Falsten; people from Krinos are broadly characterized as either criminally rich or just plain criminal, for their desperate poverty; in the past, they were accomplished travelers, traders, and explorers by sea; the mountain range at their northern border protects them from some degree of Falstenian interference, but leads them lacking in rainfall as well
Lenolem: a state in western Falsten; people from Lenolem are not broadly characterized as much of anything, thought to be such boring, simple folk that they tend not to garner much attention; still much as it was generations ago, a culture that places much value on family; known for its mild climate and fragrant tallgrasses that remind its natives of home
Virstraea: a state in northern Falsten; people from Virstraea are broadly characterized as uncultured and superstitious religious fanatics; in present day, they are one of the few major strongholds left of Solunistic beliefs, but there’s much more to them than just superstitions; heavily forested in a way that leaves some villages feeling isolated, and on friendlier terms with their fae neighbors on average
Liborotes: a state in northern Falsten; people from Liborotes are broadly characterized as uptight know-it-alls living in ivory towers; historically, Liborotes was known to host many of the finest educational institutions in the continent and had a cultural emphasis on education for all, but much of that has been stripped away in favor of Falsten’s values; known for its well-tailored landscaping and the clean lines of its architecture
Scortegia: a state in southern Falsten; people from Scortegia are broadly characterized as rural hicks; historically, they had a great sense of stewardship over the land and attempting to maintain peace with the fae; now largely have their resources and unique produce mined out for the rest of Falsten; has the widest variety of geography in its one state, with fields, fjords, and dormant volcanos rich with produce
Sattigary: an island state in southern Falsten; its people are more free-willed and independently spirited than the central empire would care to admit
Capribourg: a state in southern Falsten; people from Capribourg are broadly characterized as...kind of weird; they say it’s always business as usual in Capribourg till the sun goes does, and then it’s time for rituals and worshiping the Midnight Mother and plotting the downfall of Falsten; and maybe they’re not wrong
Aquette: a state in northern Falsten; people from Aquette are broadly characterized removed-from-reality snobs; Aquette was one of the only places where artistic development wasn’t actively staunched because Falsten appreciated their aesthetics and so it has become associated with the “fine arts,” particular in terms of food and dress
Mercen: a state in northern Falsten; people from Mercen are broadly characterized as pushovers who would give you everything down to the shirt off their back if you just asked; possibly stems from how Mercen was the only state to surrender to Falsten without any war touching their kingdom; climate is sun-soaked, if prone to a battering by heavy storms in autumn; has a lively fishing culture
Nestled at the center of these is the state of Falsten, the wealthy center of the empire, where the emperor as well as the defunct nobility of the former kingdoms make their livings.  Those who are loyal to the empire and consider the whole of the continent to be their undisputed territory refer to this state as “the Capital,” to help avoid confusion.  Those who are lacking in this loyalty or who still think of the states as independent are more likely to refer to it just as Falsten.
Aside from these human-run states, there are also swaths of land known “faewoods,” regardless of the exact geography of the land.  These are areas where the very land is infused with magic and where all types of fae make their livings.
And speaking of fae…
The Magic of Starfall
Aside from the magic of theatre, there are two primary forms of usable magic in this setting.  There are different terms for them, depending on who you ask, but they can be broken out like so:
Scripted Magic: the magic used by humans; also known as external magic; depends on inscribing runes - the base elements of the magical language - into physical items so that those items become a conduit of some intended magical effect; the word for a finished item of scripted magic is called a script (also definitely not confusing for people working in the theatre business); the use of a script requires both proper runic inscription on an item, and human contact with the script or incorporation of a chargestone infused with personal energies with the intent to use it
Inherent Magic: the magic that resides in fae and faebloods, including the plants and other geographical features of the faewoods; this magic lends itself to their unusual forms, as well as various degrees of control over the natural elements
Aside from these active forms, there is also Ambient Magic, which refers to the buildup of magic and other energies in concentrated areas - usually buildings that receive a lot of thoughtful attention, such as churches and theaters. While normally easy to miss for how little it affects daily life, if given years to build-up, ambient magic can result in explosive outcomes that require a medium’s touch to be handled.
Scripted magic is what powers the troupe’s illusions.  Scripts can take a wide variety of forms, from weapons, to clothing, to simple machines, to even food items (from those who are both skilled and brave enough to attempt to maintain the design of their runes in items that have been cooked, baked, fried, etc.)  This magic also comes in a wide variety of functions.
Weapons often have simple effects, such as fire or electric shocks, that add to their harmfulness.  The troupe’s scripts tend to rely on manipulation or replication of sensory experiences, such as creating visual illusions or re-playing sound effects.  Some households, farms, and businesses use more complex scripts with multiple elements in place of modern appliances, or as a way of mechanizing processes.
However, aside from scripts being expensive themselves and also requiring maintenance from runeworkers on occasion, all script usage in the empire requires a script license - something which comes with its own fees.
Magic Licensing
As all script usage requires licenses, there are a number of magical licensing companies within the empire that work in the business of testing for and distributing these.  The largest and most ubiquitous of these, with agencies in every state, is called Continental Corporation - more commonly known as ConCorp.
ConCorp operates on two levels - one by providing stable licensing opportunities out of local agencies, and the other by sending their inspectors out into communities to identify and investigate major script usage issues.  These inspectors have the authority to confiscate illegal scripts and apprehend those they believe to be a danger to others based on mis-use of scripts and turn them over to the proper authorities.
ConCorp and other licensing companies are also responsible for issuing travel permits to fae who want to traverse empire territory.
Religions
There are several major religions practiced within the Falsten Empire, including:
Nayitism: a monotheistic religion; worships the Lord who welcomes worthy souls into his embrace after a lifetime spent cultivating themselves as well as acting as stewards of his land; Nayitics seek guidance from the Lord’s saints, people who were known to have performed miracles in life and now safeguard any number of valued aspects of Falstenian life, from properly rotating crops keeping straight fences to ironing your shirts properly; the most popular religion amongst humans in the empire; priests at Nayitic churches are known as Keepers; its worshipers swear by the saints and by the Lord
Anshenism: a form of worship that focuses on honoring one’s ancestors, and what they contributed to your current state of being; Anshiens make offerings to their ancestors to give them comfort and sway in the afterlife; a popular religion in Lenolem, with pockets scattered across the empire; its worshipers swear by their various ancestors, often in combination with a particular body part; the more generations removed, the more egregious the swear
Solunism: considered more a superstition than a religion these days, Solunism is the ancient worship of celestial bodies; while the Moon and Sun were considered the greatest powers in this system, most of the daily worship was attributed to the “beings among the stars” - the patrons people saw amongst constellations; Solunism broadly fell out of practice amongst humans as the Empire rose to power and began installing its preferred forms of worship, but it still exists in the cultural consciousness, especially in the north; even people who don’t understand Solunism frequently swears by the stars and the Moon
Naming Conventions
Names in the world of Starfall are a combination of real-world names and fantasy ones.  Characters may be named most anything without specifically modern connotations and they will be at place in the world.  A trend in the empire currently is names based on herbs and edible plants (Basil, Mint, Thyme, Sage, etc.)
Professions
Starfall is set in a pre-industrial world, and so many professions are still handled by hand or with the assistance of simple machines - scripted or otherwise.  Characters can hypothetically make a living off any basic profession, although the strength of the economy and natural resources of where they work from will affect how comfortable a living that will be.
Other Details/Collection of Terminology
Script: a physical item inscribed with runes capable of creating a specified magical effect
Rune: an individual character representing a concept; considered the building blocks of the magical language; correctly inscribing these either individually or in concert with other runes onto physical objects results in a script
Lets: the currency of the land
Fae: a broad characterization for the majority of inherently magical beings; fae take a wide variety of forms
Faeblood: people with both fae and human heritage who appear to belong to neither of the societies entirely; are born with unusual physical characteristics and are often in possession of unusual magical abilities that vary from faeblood to faeblood
Medium: a specialized position licensed for dealing with unusual forms of magic in the Empire - most typically, ambient magic which causes disruptions to daily life in older structures
Bolt: the Starfall in-world equivalent of a shot (as in, “I just watched Rhea down four party bolts.”)
Current Ruler: Emperor Benevolio Falstenious I, son of Empress Justicia Falstenious II
Responsibilities Within the Troupe
Management: There is currently one manager within the troupe who handles most of the more “mundane” duties, such as accounting, procuring supplies, and scheduling their performances around the continent. (Raybar)
Actors: While most members of the troupe can stand in for a bit part, the Actors with a capital A carry the bulk of their performances and are the most skilled with illusory spoken magic.  Their performances transform a regular stage to the near perfect illusion of the scene they’re meant to be portraying.  They also frequently handle infused items to add to the effects of the scene. (Dalyn, Rhea, Glenn, Mint, Thyme, Ravey, Ginger)
Puppeteers: Performers who work puppets, both scripted and unscripted, to add to the roles that can’t be filled by human forms within the plays.  The scripted elements of puppets can add to their mobility and allow them to create special effects just as much as the costumes and other scripts. (Koua)
Director: Usually a younger member of the troupe relied on to bring a fresh perspective to the older works performed by the actors and to help them from getting too set in their ways.  Will often serve as a stand-in for larger plays as well, and should be versed in handling scripted items. (Basil, Aster)
Propmasters: Responsible for inscribing the props used by the actors, as well as for helping with maintenance on the weapons and armor carried by security.  They also frequently help with mending the mundane items in camp, as well as ensuring the camp’s valuables are hidden and well-protected. (Aksol, Jyrsa, Vair)
Costumers: Similar to the propmasters, they work on tailoring and maintaining the costumes, scripted or otherwise, worn by the actors, as well as helping with the everyday outfits of the troupe. (Macalus, Velette, Kio, Viniccio)
Hair/Makeup: A position that only occasionally filled within the troupe.  The actors generally manage their own hair/wigs and makeup, but sometimes, they travel with a specialist in this area able to magically enhance their features.
Cooks: An essential part of the troupe.  While they may use scripted magic to add flare and emotion to their cooking on special occasions, their main duty is just to get through the day to day of making sure everyone can and does eat.  The manager is more beholden to their needs and concerns than anyone else in the troupe. (Centhy, Dalby)
Security: The troupe spends a significant amount of time on the road between towns, and not all roads are safe.  In fact, the less highly monitored ones they often take usually bring them closer to the “untamed” faelands and the dangers within.  Security usually relies on handling scripted weapons to help secure the troupe’s caravan on the roads and to intimidate those in larger cities who would take advantage of their members. (Leona, Hosse)
Apprentices: Workers who have begun to learn a specific trade from other performers and craftspeople within the group.  Sometimes, they rise to become full members of the troupe, and sometimes, they return to their hometowns or others after a circuit with the troupe, able to apply their skills more effectively.
Stagehands: Not just workers on the stage, they form the backbone of the troupe, handling a lot of manual labor in helping the caravans run smoothly, setting up camps, and getting materials to and from the theaters.  Often, they join the troupe as younger individuals hoping to escape their current lives, and those that are more proficient in magic often move to become apprentices once they’ve gained more confidence and inspiration, or they just move on once they feel they’ve come far enough away from where they were running. (Fel, Dots, Colden)

Hey there! I’m back yet again with more scarvio headcannons for your event! I recently started replaying the game and have so many thoughts but! I’ll keep it limited lol. I’m getting kinda close to the end of starfall street and have decided that despite his bratiness Ortega definitely has a super sweet and soft side! Wether this is canon or not I’m not sure (it’s been awhile since I’ve done the story and don’t remember) but I still think it’s a nice concept! And if possible can you do a reader insert? (platonic please!) if you don’t feel like it it’s all good, I know I send in a lot of reader stuff and it can probably get boring after awhile. I’m just a huge sucker for self insert stuff lol. Thanks in advance and I hope you’re doing well!!! -⚡️
{Headcanons to Dabbles: CLOSED!}
ORTEGA!!! Oh man- I freaking love him! While not my favorite of the Starfall crew (admittedly I don't have a favorite as I love them all so much Atticus) I adore him with my entire heart and soul! This was a joy to write for you friend! I've gotcha covered! :D (And don't ever worry about your requests/headcanons being boring! On the contrary I think they're freaking awesome! You always give me the best characters to write for!)
Ortega was…a lot.
Mechanically speaking, he was brilliant- his hands were golden as they turned simple shapes into incredible machinery for Team Starfall to use in battle. He was meticulous, thorough, and still somehow remained ridiculously cute smudged in motor oil.
“Careful, you klutz!”
He was also a bit of a brat. Okay- a full brat.
“Sorry.” You stepped back from the table, admiring the various trinkets and do-hickies across the cloth. “And I’m not a klutz! That was one time!”
“One time falling into my tool setup, two times spilling pink paint everywhere, another time dropping water all over yourself and- how many times have you stumbled and flopped on your butt?” He sent a cheeky grin over his shoulder at you, hands deep within the wiring of the starmobile. He laughed when you pouted, mildly vexed.
“Whatever.” You flopped into the nearest seat, sinking further in your chair as his soft titters carried on. What were you expecting?
Some time passed when he called out again. “(Y/N).”
“Hm?”
“The desk beside you, could you open the second drawer?” When you glared, he sighed. “Please?”
“....Fine.” You did as told only to pause. Among the various screwdrivers and extra wiring sat…
“Yeah, it’s just some whatever piece I was tinkering with. Not much to look at, but I guess you can have it if you want.” He folded his arms with a huff as you carefully pulled out the statue, shaped into a glorious portrayal of your go-to pokemon. Despite his claims, the craft was clearly handled with care- the edges smooth and flawless and the effects of the Pokemon’s typing visible with brightly colored resin. Your go-to was posed in an incredible way- badass and powerful and truly amazing.
“Ortega…did you make this for me?” You asked, looking over to find him having returned to his work. You might have been hallucinating, but you couldn’t help but note the growing flush against the back of his neck.
“Pfft- please. Like I said, I was tinkering. But…if you really like it-”
“I love it!” You cried, heart racing as you looked at the various angles. “I adore it! Thank you so much!”
“L-Like I said- it’s only a tinker!” Ortega fussed, neck coloring more as the blush spread to his ears. “But…yeah, I’m glad you love it.”
You grinned at him one more time before carefully placing the statue on the desk, leaning into your arms as you gazed upon its beautiful form.
Ortega might have been a brat, but when the softer parts come out; it makes it all worth it.

hey bae any help on getting good gear i’m lvl 105 or smth and i spend all my crowns on henchmen it’s rly embarrassing 😭😭 i’m fire school too but i just never learned abt gear
of course ok ok so. heres ✨starfall sea's gear guide✨
note that u dont need a full set of any of these
under level 30
not a big deal here. check the bazaar, look at the gear you get from questing, etc
krokotopia has a gear set that's ok for the levels you get it at. youll get a bunch of the world gear sets just questing thru their respective worlds
30-60
olympus! olympus gear will last you to level 60
you'll probably end up with 100000 sky iron hastas just by running olympus like 3 times. this is good. sky iron hasta is your friend
the celestian gear sets are also pretty decent! not as good as olympus, but you'll end up with 1000000 of these pieces just by questing thru celestia so there's no farming involved
also: random wintertusk gear can be pretty good as well. i got some good athames/rings that i used until like, azteca iirc
60-100
waterworks time . waterworks will last you until lvl 100
evaluate how you're doing at lvl 90, and if you think you need better gear run tartarus a few times (but darkmoor is only 10 lvls away, so keep that in mind too)
idk about atlantea. i dont think many people really bother with it?
some of the azteca athames/rings were upgrades for me personally
100-160
darkmoor at lvl 100
listen im sure there's better gear to be found in between darkmoor and the aeon gear. but i dont really know about it and frankly half a darkmoor set lasted me for ages
i did check the bazaar & looked at the gear i got just from questing though. i think i got a few wand upgrades. always check the random gear u get as you go along, youll never know when you might have an upgrade in ur backpack!
EDIT. look below for some 130 gear advice 👍
160+
aeon gear from novus is great! its the only set i've ever really farmed (bc i got stuck in wallaru lol)
the latest (170) tier of hat/robes/boots/wands isnt out yet, but wallaru does have upgrades for everything else! i havent spent much time going for them, but here's a guide
also feels weird plugging my own post. but i did just post a thing on like, tips and tricks and whatnot. might help?
EDIT: great addition from @stormbreaker101 in the tags! i completely forgot about the dragoon gear

hey
did
did you also know i run a fandub for another au of mine
i present midnight x wrongdoings x starfall!! (or abbreviated to mxwxs)
main premise is spy / phantom thief with two main teams
first is daybreak starfall, consisting of l/n, harushizu, toyahane, and kanaena. (oh yeah let me mention no ships are canon i’m just grouping them to make it easier) a spy organization started by saki, she did this since tsukasa had gone supposedly missing after an argument that the tenmas had with one another. saki wants to bring tsukasa back as she misses him dearly, and the two both have their regrets over what happened that day. over time a total of 9 others also being reported as such. also there’s been a lot of crime going on recently..like way way more than usual, typically left with signs from our second group here which i’ll mention in a bit. this only strengthened saki’s reasoning to recruit people she knew to help out.
now the group causing all these problems is known as midnight x moonlight, a group of phantom thieves. each missing person? yeah they’re right here. wxs, minoai, akian, and mafumizu. commuting a whole bunch of crimes and generally making life a little more i convenient for the people around them.
now regarding its formation, mxm has more depth than ds but that’s mostly since it was partially because of mxm that ds even formed in the first place, anyways getting into that
tsukasa hasn’t exactly been the best lately, like his method actor thing isn’t going as well as it once was, like he just can’t remember shit when it comes to more dynamic roles that he’s been receiving as of recent, he’s had a lot more circumstances of facing his inferiority to certain things, not even just acting, overall just not really having it. and lately the tenmas have been a bit more distant, each trying to be more focused on the things going on between their units. though tsukasa one day blinded by his emotions, snaps at saki after she tries to check on him and see if he needs help. he ends up running away not wanting to even look saki in the face anymore after what he did, and then yeah. a new hatsune miku right in his phone, not wxs miku, entirely new one. basically because of the passions breaking the sekais broke along with them. and now with these new feelings and goals each for the tenmas, two new sekais have formed for their respective groups. so this miku would be the one for mxm talking to tsukasa. she’s a little piss boy and tries guilting him into believing that "y’know you really are cool and people should know that you know…give them a reason to know you heheherre"
at first he’s really against it and really, really contemplative, and even after he forms it he still debates it, but he has fun with it ig over time, but even then he still isn’t sure whether or not he could have found a different resolve
anyways regarding the dub itself,
with me in specific i’m the director, tsukasa va, also an artist and writer for it
va positions are all taken but staff positions are open, also understudies might open depending on certain vas
our staff roles are artists, writers, editors, and composers
so if you’d like to join, y’know, uh….
https://discord.gg/KYQrMrbFfq (just copy/paste it tumblr isn’t letting me use the link thing cueueue..)
Tumblr media
^ very simplified doodle of tsukasa in the au
anyways gn starting school tmr

I thought it was implied that Starfall was Night Court’s Calanmai? And that Amarantha would rape Rhys on that day because she knew what it was to him? But then if Starfall is NC’s Calanmai… how did Feyre accept the bond on that day if it happened after Starfall? SARAH MAKE IT MAKE SENSE I DONT UNDERSTAND WHERE IS THE WORLDBUILDING
(Honestly wouldn’t be surprised if she planned it that way, but then forgot since we know she just writes whatever sounds good off the top of her head and doesn’t want to listen to her editors when they tell her to change/fix/remove stuff.)
I always understood Starfall as being its own completely separate event (not even a ritual, an event) that was unique to the Night Court because??? idk stars fall but only here lmao. But, sure, let's say to your implication that Sarah intended for Starfall to be the Night Court's Calanmai.
Where was the ritual that the High Lord performed, and what was it? (It doesn't even have to be the same setup as the Spring Court's. I always expected the courts to perform their rituals differently.)
Who was the Maiden?
Who did Rhys fuck?
What magic was imbued by Rhys and sent out to the land?
How were the other fae contributing to the ritual besides looking at stars?
We know there are no answers to these questions. We know that, actually, that night in the cabin was conveniently Calanmai due to a throwaway line that I'm almost 100% sure that Feyre gave us. So here's another question: How does Feyre know when the NC's Calanmai is when she and Rhys have never talked about it? [knocks on Sarah's window] Hey sis, this stuff your characters know... Can we see it? I think this is also where a lot of readers are confused about the Calanmai timeline across courts because 1) Does Feyre know because it falls on the same day as the Spring Courts? (And therefore, all courts practice the ritual on the same day, which would be smart because it means all courts are vulnerable at the same time and unable to act against each other. Unfortunately, we know that Rhys was at the Spring Court during Calanmai, and we have no confirmation if Amarantha raped him that night, if it mattered magically if she did, or if Rhys' stand-in did anything for the NC in his place.) Or 2) is the timeline of Feyre being in the Night Court so wonky that it's impossible for that night in the cabin to be the same as Spring Court's Calanmai? Meaning every court's Calanmai's dates are different. Again, we have no idea. (Funny also how Winter/stars and the longest night of the year are so important to the NC when,,,, the Winter Court exists, but whatever. Who cares about the seasonal courts actually.)
But yeah, to all your points, where is the worldbuilding indeed? It's whatever Sarah's writing right at this moment. It's whatever movies or books or tv shows she's consuming and plagiarizing right now. It's using the Headspace app and seeing a physical therapist. The worldbuilding in the next court books will be different from all others that came before. And whenever she throws Moon Moon City into the mix, it will become further unrecognizable still. Everything she writes is fanfiction of her first novel in all her series, and I'm not convinced that Moon Moon City 2 wasn't a very loooong way to reset the trajectory of whatever that dumpster fire series could've been. Why throw Rhys into Moon Moon City at all if you are confident about the plot, characters, and world you originally came up with?
I blame Sarah a lot for her inconsistency, as I should, but I also blame Bloomsbury for a lot. They could've taken the reigns to put out decent products that actually align with her books being slotted into urban fantasy/paranormal romance because they sure as hell aren't YA fantasy OR adult fantasy, and haven't been for a long time. But making money is more important to them, and hey, business is business. I get it, but get a handle on the product you're marketing. Otherwise, you deserve every critique.

Refresh - Oneshot
I caved a wrote this during the weekend instead of doing my homework (dw I'm catching up now lmao)
Takes place after Frontiers, so there's spoilers in here. Probably shouldn't read if you haven't beaten the game already.
Summary: Sonic needs a break, and finds himself fishing with someone he used to know.
Words: 2,487
     Sonic was running.
Running through the jungles of Mystic Ruins, aimlessly wandering through the thick foliage, his blurred figure weaving through large roots and vines and twisting trees at great speeds. The thick canopy cast a dark shadow over the forest floor, and the clouded skies made it near impossible for sunlight to shine.
That's how Sonic felt right now. Thoughts clouded.
He let his legs carry him wherever they wanted, not thinking about… anything, really.
He continued running. Couldn't remember why he began running in the first place. To get away from something, maybe. What, exactly, he didn't remember.
He had a feeling he didn't want to.
Sonic found himself running up a very, very large tree. It towered over anything else in the entire jungle. It was quite impressive, just how large it was.
It was also quite impressive how he managed to get to one of the top branches with speed alone, running up and along the trunk. He forgets he can do things like that sometimes.
He takes this as an opportunity to take a break. He'd been running for a while now. Couldn't remember how long, exactly…
He examined his surroundings. Nothing much to see besides green and brown. Colors blend together in the distance, making it hard to distinguish one tree from another. He rubbed his eyes. Was his eyesight getting worse? Or perhaps he simply wasn't focusing hard enough. Was he tired?
He shook his head and jumped down the tree, continuing his run. He wasn't tired, not really. He'd gotten plenty of rest after his little… trip to the Starfall Islands, at Tails' request. He was fine now.
     He was fine.
While he runs, he hears something that catches his attention, something that makes him stop for a moment.
     Ribbit.
This sound… It's familiar. Despite it being just like the croaking of any other frog, it resonates with his mind in a strange way. He's heard this specific frog before, he knows it.
He looks around, searching for the source.
     Ribbit.
He looks to his right, then down, and sees a small, green frog with orange stripes and an odd tail. It looks up at him, a strange look in its yellow eyes, almost curious. It hops towards Sonic without a hint of fear, as if it knew him.
"Hey," he said, reaching out a hand to the strangely familiar frog, "What's up, little guy?"
The frog croaked, responding to his question, before turning around and hopping away.
After a few hops, the frog stops and turns around, looking at him expectantly. For some reason, he feels compelled to follow it.
He doesn't have anything else to do, not that he remembered, so he decided to do so.
He trailed after the frog as it hopped further into the lush forest. It led him deeper, and deeper, and deeper. As he walks, he begins to hear rushing water. A stream.
Soon, the stream comes into view, and the frog leads him to follow its flow. Eventually, the two find themselves in a clearing with a pond in the middle. It was quiet, save for the crashing sound of a waterfall nearby, and it seemed quite peaceful.
Someone was there, a large, purple cat with dark stripes, much larger than him. He was fishing by the pond, eyes closed and completely relaxed. He seemed familiar, too. Had they met before?
The frog ribbits, and the cat's very big ears perk up at the sound. He turns to look at the frog, noticing Sonic in the process.
"Oh, hey!" the cat said with a smile, "Hi, Froggy!"
The frog croaked, replying to the cat, before jumping onto his lap. Froggy… What a fitting name. They seemed to be good friends.
"Good t' see you again, Sonic!"
     … 'Again'?
Sonic stared at him. Clearly they had known each other, once. He couldn't recall his face, though looking at him brought back hazy memories of fishing with… someone, at some point. Weird.
     "Uh, Sonic? You okay?"
"Hm? Oh, uh…" He must've been staring for a little too long. "... Uh, yeah. Yeah. I'm fine. Just… a little tired, 's all."
     Yeah. Just tired.
"Aw, that's okay! D'ya need a nap? You can take a nap over there, if you want." The cat pointed towards a little hut made from wood and leaves, tied together by vines. It seemed surprisingly well made, for something constructed out of raw materials like this. Did he live here?
"Uh, no. I'll be fine," he shook his head as he replied.
     "Okay!"
He wasn't going to nap in the home of a… stranger.
The cat returned his attention to fishing, completely unbothered by Sonic's presence. He seemed to trust Sonic, even. It was strange, Sonic didn't feel particularly bothered by his presence, either. In fact, he found it oddly comforting.
This cat wasn't a stranger, was he?
He decided to sit with him and watch him fish, letting his mind wander off someplace else.
The two sat together in comfortable silence for a few minutes, before something finally bit. The cat suddenly became tense as he felt the pull of a fish at the end of his fishing line. He began to reel it in, and after a bit of struggle, he managed to pull it out of the water.
A small carp hangs by a hook at the end of the line, struggling to break free, to no avail. The cat carefully grabs the carp and examines it, before pulling the hook out of its mouth, lowering it back into the water and releasing it, letting it swim free once more. Sonic could tell he'd done this many, many times before.
The cat looks back at Sonic and tilts his head slightly. He must've been staring again.
"Would you like to try? I'll let ya borrow a rod," he said.
For some reason, those specific words rang in his head. He's heard them before.
     "Sure."
The cat happily ran to his little hut, returning with a fishing rod similar to the one he'd been using. He hands it to Sonic, and he casts his line.
The motion feels easy and familiar. He's done this before, many times as well. He smiles.
Suddenly, the memory of him fishing with that someone didn't seem so hazy anymore.
-
The two spent what felt like hours just fishing. They'd caught quite a few fish together, even caught two bass that were large enough for them to eat. Sonic began setting up a fire to roast them in, while the cat prepared the fish.
Soon they were roasting them over the fire, holding the skewered fish over the flickering flames.
Once they'd been well roasted, the cat took a bite, then another. Sonic could hear loud, content purring as he ate. Seems the fish turned out pretty good, judging by his reaction.
After some deliberation, Sonic took a bite from his own fish, and was pleasantly surprised by its taste. Its flesh is so tender it feels as if it's melting in his mouth. It's quite delicious.
"Mmm… this is pretty good!" He said as he took another bite, his little tail wagging. The cat smiled, seemingly pleased with himself.
What a nice guy, letting Sonic fish with him, giving him some nice food… He needed this. He really, really did.
… Why, exactly, did he need this?
He couldn't remember why he was running away in the first place.
Sonic decided not to dwell on it much and continued eating.
He took his last bite and set the remains of his fish down. It didn't matter much, anyway. He felt great! He went out for a run and hung out with a friend, just like he used to.
… Just like he used to.
Sonic looks up to the cat, wracking his brain, trying to put a name to the face, but he just couldn't remember. His memories of him were still so deep in the recesses of his mind he couldn't reach them. All he could remember were fuzzy glimpses of what he thought were moments they spent together.
The cat tilted his head. "What's wrong? Is something on my face?"
Sonic hesitated to answer, considering his response. "No, I…" he sighed, "Oh, this is gonna sound terrible…"
He took a deep breath, before asking:
     "What was your name again?"
The cat seemed somewhat surprised at this question. Of course he was. Who wouldn't be? When someone who you thought was your friend asks you that kind of question after having known each other for so long…
… They've known each other for a long time, right?
It feels like a breaking of trust, doesn't it? Like that 'friend' he so cared about didn't even care enough to remember his name. Like he never really cared at all–
     "I'm Big! … Why'd you ask?"
There was barely any hesitation in his answer. Not a hint of sadness in his tone, either, just slight confusion. It caught Sonic off guard.
     Big. What a fitting name.
"I… I forgot," he admitted, "I've forgotten a lot of things, actually. A lot of people."
"Aw, that's okay!" Big said, completely unbothered.
"Wh- but-" Sonic stammered, "But aren't you at least… sad that I forgot about you? Or- or worried?"
"Everyone forgets things sometimes. I forget things all the time!"
"I-I mean, yeah, but– You don't just forget your friends, do you?"
There was a pause. Big did seem worried now, his brows furrowed. Sonic could just see the gears turning as he searched for the right words. But the look on his face was enough for Sonic to know how he felt. He was heartbroken, wasn't he? Just like the others.
This was exactly what Sonic was running from. His… friends' worried faces. Them asking him questions. Asking if he remembers this or that. Telling him about things they did in a desperate attempt to remind him of their times together. It's been the same for the past few days since they realized Sonic had lost his memory.
The memory loss couldn't have been obvious, either. No, because of course it couldn't. Tails, Amy, and Knuckles restored his memories that involve them, but not every other person he's known and loved! Because it just couldn't be that simple! He spent days wondering why there were such large gaps in his memory, why he felt like he was missing so much of himself, only to realize he'd forgotten almost everyone else he held dear. The realization just had to set in slowly and painfully and tear him apart from the inside.
And he couldn't blame them because they didn't know this would happen.
He couldn't take it anymore, he just couldn't. He couldn't bear to see their faces as they grieved the friend they'd lost, the friend that was still there in flesh and blood, but had completely forgotten them. How could he forget about them? How could he let that bastard of a… fucking space-alien-whatever-that-bitch-was take his memories from him? How could he let it? How could he do this to them? How could he? How could you–
"Sonic, hey." Suddenly, Sonic realized Big was right in front of him, his giant, gloved hands on his tense shoulders. Froggy rested on his head. Even he seemed worried. "It's okay. It's not your fault."
     "Not… my fault…?"
Oh, Chaos, he said that all out loud, didn't he?
Big watched him expectantly, a clear look of understanding and sympathy in his eyes. He let go of his shoulders and held his arms open.
     An invitation for a hug.
Sonic was never a fan of hugs, especially if he didn't initiate them. They made him feel restrained and confined, more often than not. He'd even say the feeling is claustrophobic in nature. He hated it.
And yet, right now, he just wished he could be held.
So, he took the invitation, leaning into Big as he carefully wrapped his arms around him. His embrace was gentle and warm, and so very fluffy, almost like being hugged by a giant stuffed toy.
"People don't forget things on purpose… I know I don't," Big spoke in such a gentle, understanding, yet serious tone, it caught Sonic by surprise. He doesn't think he's ever heard him like this. At least, he doesn't remember. "So don't say that like it's your fault."
He closed his eyes and returned the embrace, wrapping his arms around Big as best he could, though he couldn't get very far.
     "... Okay," he replied.
Sonic remained in Big's arms for what felt like eternity, and Big didn't seem to mind. He could smell the lingering scent of fish and saltwater in his fur. Big must've been near the ocean recently.
     Near… the ocean. Islands.
Sonic pulled away and looked up to Big's face, memories becoming clearer and clearer in his mind. "You were there. At the Starfall Islands."
     "Yup."
     "I… I remember you."
     "... You do?"
"Y-yeah. At least, I remember you being there. Fishing together." He remembered how tired he felt back then, how much pain he was in, how relieved he was to see Big's face and that giant, mysterious pond that housed any kind of fish imaginable. It was a great relief from the stress he was facing. "You helped me relax while I… dealt with everything. I remember now."
"That's great," Big said with a soft smile.
Sonic smiled, too. "... Thanks. For being there. And being here, too"
"No problem Sonic," he said, patting Sonic's head, "I'm glad you're feelin' better now."
Froggy croaked as well, surely meant to be a 'you're welcome'.
That was it. No rush. No questions. No stories to try and jog his memory. Just… comfort.
That's what he really needed. Comfort. And time for the memories to come back to him on their own.
He still couldn't remember much past the incident in the Starfall Islands, not unless it involves Tails, Amy, or Knuckles. But those gaps in his mind, which seemed so empty and void once, now feel a little less so.
His mind felt clearer now, too, if only a little bit.
Sonic hugged him again, and the two remained like that for a bit longer, embracing each other, before Sonic felt a cold drop of water land on his head. Then another, and another. He looked up at the darkening sky.
     "It's starting to rain."
Big stood up, and Sonic followed. The two walked into the hut, where they'd shelter themselves from the rain.
     "Hey, Big?" Sonic asked.
     "Yeah?"
     "Y'know, maybe I could use a nap. I'm tired."
Big smiled, patting the neatly set pile of leaves on the ground next to him. That must be his bed.
Sonic finally took his offer, setting himself down on the bed of leaves, curling up and closing his tired eyes, letting his mind wander and drift to sleep.

hello lovely mods! i hope its okay to ask this here (and i did take a peek at your prompt post!) but do you guys know of any canon autumn equinox mentions? i haven't read the books in a while and wanted to ask on the off chance you guys could remember if there were any book canon mentions of the autumn equinox! no pressure and i apologize if this isn't the kind of question you guys answer!
Hey there - STT here!
I did some digging and I don't actually think there's any mention of it. I believe Calanmai, Nynsar, Summer/Winter Solstice, and Starfall are really the only things mentioned in the series (though my memory isn't the best). If you're worried about being canonically correct, I think you have some leeway! I do think the fae were UTM during the autumn equinox so that might be worth exploring?!
If anyone following the blog has ideas or @lucienforhighking has thoughts, please reply!

Johnny Test: Power Up! - Worldbuilding
Hey, starlets! It's time for the worldbuilding! As you guys know, thanks to a mysterious incident, that none of them involved remember, Johnny, Dukey, Susan, Mary and everyone involved, including their allies and villains, got teleported in a new galaxy far, far away from theirs. From then on, they have to live in that new galaxy, until they find the lost memories of the incident and eventually, find a way home. Doesn't help, that they're gonna be involved in other stuff, as well as other complications. Speaking of the new galaxy, it's time to introduce that, starting with the main planet, our heroes stay:
Lumina!
Tumblr media
The planet "Lumina" is known for their luscious landscape, beautiful nights and amazing technology. While having similar attributes to Earth, including a breathable atmosphere, it has several things, that set itself apart. The nature of that planet would be inspired by the Avatar movies and Winx Club with their luminescent plants, strong trees, beautiful flowers, sparkling waterfalls, lakes and seas, canyons, caves, beaches and more. Basically having a similar atmosphere to Earth, including the air alone being breathable for humans and other creatures, but a bit more fantastical.
The wildlife will be filled with extraterrestrial animals and hybrids, ranging from a four-eyed hawk with wings sharp as swords to a giant lizards. Inspirations for these would come from the Pokémon and Avatar (The Last Airbender) series. As for the people of Lumina, they're filled with a mix of anthropomorphic animals and aliens, with a few mythological creatures sprinkled in. There are some native Luminians with special attributes, like sparkling in the dark and such, but I wanted to aim this planet to be open and diverse to everyone.
Ranging from small villages to sizeable towns, like Sunset Harbor to even mega cities, this planet has it all, but most importantly, it has a city, known for being the main location of our heroes and their friends, known as:
Starfall City!
Known as "Lumina's Shining Capital", Starfall City is known to be the most advanced and diverse city in the entire galaxy, while also being the cleanest of them. Inspired by Japan's cities like Tokyo and Osaka, mixed in with Zenith from Winx Club and the city from K/DA' s music video "MORE, this city has so many sights and options for entertainment and education. Like the Starfall Mall, several schools, parks for not only having a nice day out, but there are some for extreme sports, the famous Galaxy Tower, a highly advanced and interactive arcade, etc. The holidays are the same as it is in Earth, but there is one, that is special: The Crystal Star Festival.
A big celebration, involving the ritual Crystal Star. It's all fun and games with lots of entertainment and parties, which the finale involves the star being lit up with concentrated moonlight and a beam shot at the sky to create beautiful northern lights with the colours of the rainbow.
Tumblr media
The military of this city is known to be secretive and efficient. Although, they can be pretty incompetent sometimes, especially with the General in charge now. But at least, they have a very competent commander, in the form of Cynthia. (Although to be fair, she can take her job WAY too seriously.)
But the most important place of Starfall City is of course, the special HQ of the Tests. With state-of-the-art technology and beautiful designing, this house with its sleek design is not only a home for Johnny and his team, but it has several rooms, like a kitchen, a living room, bathrooms, bedrooms, a training room, a basement, access to a garden, a few pools (one in the garden and the other in one of the rooms) a relaxation lounge and most importantly, a laboratory. The place, where Susan and Mary would invent and test various inventions, with the help of Ziffy and new construction bots. And where the team get new weapons and other devices. Of course, Johnny would take some of them for his own deeds, which they would backfire. Interestingly enough, Serena rarely visits the lab, due to two factors:
She's a fairy. Unless she has a reason, she almost never goes there, because she has her magic to do stuff. Though, she can be seen in either the garden tending on the plants and flowers or in the training room practicing her skills and learning new spells.
Serena doesn't like the Test twins, due to their treatment with Johnny and ignoring Dukey's advices. In fact, if she saw Johnny being in a painful test, she would flinch, then scream.
Granted, Schalot doesn't go to the lab often either, but there will be times, he does enter the lab, like when he either wants to complain about random explosions and being too loud, breaking the door down, when he wants something, like he was provoked by someone or just out of curiosity.
The other planets!
After giving you a lot of lore about Lumina, it's time to give you some info about the other planets in a quick run:
Cypus - Described as an exotic planet with beautiful architecture and high wealth. However, there are some groups of people, willing to do anything for the money and wealth.
Oceania - A tropical planet with lots of water. There are several cities, both on land and underwater. The people on this planet are fish like aliens. This planet also has some islands, with tropical nature and wildlife.
Radius - A gem-themed planet with lots of crystals and gems. The people of that planet are gem-themed, humanoid aliens with sparkling hair and gems and rhinestones on their bodies and clothes.
Articus - A planet full of ice and snow, with a blue ring around it. (Similar to Saturn). The people of this planet have special skins, allowing them to live in the arctic temperatures. Visitors of that planet should have a lot of warm clothing ready.
Pyros- A very hot planet filled with volcanoes and brimstone. Much like Articus, the people also have special skin, allowing them to live in the massive heat, though they're red, rather than icy blue.
Obscura - A horror themed planet, filled with monsters and other mythological creatures in a dense and foggy planet with longer nights than those in Earth, even in winter.
Rhythm - A music themed planet with several continents themed after several music genres, like pop, rock, country, metal, etc.
So yeah. Those are all the planets of the new galaxy! Of course, there are more galaxies for our heroes and bad guys to explore and discover, while having lots of (mis-)adventures there, while new bad guys are watching from the shadows, waiting to strike. Some of them anyway....
Stay tuned for more Power Up! content!
