Hebrews 10:25 (NLT) -
And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of His return is drawing near.

I love His Return drabble. Do you plan to make a continuation? ❤️
Also, does steve actually love reader or is it just about him having control over her?
On the bright side, reader will be having orgasms now so thats good lol.
For the epilogue, I’d like to think that reader would settle back into her housewife role since she’s scared of steve & i hope that steve would be nicer to her (if he’s in a good mood)
I really really enjoyed writing it and I love the concept but I do think it ended pretty self explanatory for it to not need an epilogue, yknow?
Though I’ll happily provide a short but expanded explanation to your thoughts and questions. <3
I don’t think this dark version of Steve would become any nicer until she becomes pregnant, because only then does he not want to give her any stress as he knows it’s bad for the baby. When she has finally birthed the child and they settle in as a family, he becomes more loving but would probably still keep Y/N in place by being mean and rough.
As for your other question, I think it’s a little bit of both? Back in the 1940s, it was accepted by law for men to be physically abusive towards their wives if they showed disobedience, and so when he came to the present and realized that’s not okay anymore, it motivated him in the end to return so he could keep control of the woman who once lived for only him. But then again, he has always loved her since before he got the serum, and he wouldn’t want to be with any other obedient woman as he only wants Y/N.

The Unknown Day and Hour
Imagine you work in someone’s home. One day, the master of the home leaves and entrusts you to steward their property, and you have no idea when they will return. What would you do?
Take a nap? Throw a party? Eat all the food in the pantry? Ignore instructions?
No. A faithful servant would follow their master’s directions and keep the home ready for their return.
Jesus’ parable in Mark 13:32-37 illustrates that the same is true of what our Master, Jesus, has given us—possessions, gifts, talents, and the like. It’s not really ours, after all—He left it in our care temporarily. We don’t know when He will return, "whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or at dawn" (Mark 13:35, NIV). But God’s Word tells us what we should do in the meantime. Here are a few tasks our Master has for us while we wait:
- Stay alert and vigilant. (Mark 13:33)
- Pray for all the Lord’s people. (Ephesians 6:18)
- Serve one another with our spiritual gifts. (1 Peter 4:10)
- Care for the needy. (James 2:14–17)
- Practice humility. (Philippians 2:3–4)
Let’s stay on guard for when “someday” becomes “today.”

I think one of the biggest tragedies of Laios & Falin and their relationship is how much his actions impact her life. But like. Specifically how much they WOULDN’T impact her life as much if they weren’t both stuck in such a shitty abusive situation.
This part of the Falin-tries-makeup daydream hour comic is what got me thinking about it again because truly it just... it seems like such a like an offhand comment that I'm sure Laios didn't mean to be cruel or anything. That's just like. A little kid not thinking about what they are saying. ESPECIALLY when the kid in question is Laios.
But man they depended on each other SO much as kids. Too much. It really feels like they didn't have any other source of positive reinforcement, or anyone else to share themselves with. So of course an offhand comment like that has a huge impact on Falin.
Or this little bit from one of the flashbacks:
This tears me apart. Do you think it tears him apart to think about? I think it does. I think Laios holds every small failure to care for Falin against himself.
And then there's the Bigger stuff. The way that him coping with his own trauma ended up impacting her.
Like his interest in monsters. Like him going to find a ghost, and accidentally revealing Falin's magic to the whole village in the process.
Like him needing to leave. And leaving her behind.
He shaped her life so much, and he carries so much guilt for it. And again, there should have been other people there to help. The same things that made Laios need to leave home are the things that made his leaving so hard on Falin. She ate alone after that. She shouldn't have had to eat alone just because Laios wasn't there.
She was 9 when he left for school, and he was 11.
Nine. And Laios feels like he failed her because he didn't stand by her through this better. As an eleven year old.
Both of these kids deserved so much better from the world.

all things succumb to “the curtains are blue” disease but acting like dungeon meshi wasn’t always reflective and intentional about its worldbuilding and characters is so dumb. “it got deep all of a sudden!!” as if it didn’t also portray how hierarchies affect our understanding the world, and what organisms must do to survive, and the complexities of nature, and the cycle of life and death and rebirth. it just happens to also be about sharing delicious sweet treats with friends. two things can be true at once
