I don't usually share my maps for worlbuilding projects, but this is the first time I've made a city map without tools like Inkarnate or other similar tools and I'm really happy with how it turned out. That and it's been a while since I talked about my pathfinder homebrew lol.
Torebli is a city in my homebrew pathfinder setting Sauvias, within the kingdom of Heralia. It is surrounded by rainforest and wetlands (across the lake depicted on the west of this map). While a fairly diverse city, it has the largest population of the semi-aquatic Axoli people and as such, has several residential districts partially submerged in the lake.
Every year during the spring time, Torebli is host to The Festival of Flames (working title lol) - a celebration honouring a hero from the ancient draconic wars in Sauvias's history (I'm keeping it vague because some of the players in the campaign I'm planning to run follow me on here and this festival is connected to the story).
[ID: An illustrated, top down map of a medieval city along a lake shore. The city's wall and several of the buildings extends into the water, and around the city on land is dense forest. In the bottom right is the name of the city, Torebli, and in the top right is a compass rose to indicate that north is towards the top of the image. /End ID]

Fey Tavern
Tucked away in a wild forest is this enchanting tavern, a place where the senses are energized and the body is nourished.
This tavern is ran exclusively by Fey creatures, who delight in meeting new guests and treating them with delicious food, hot steamy baths, and warm beds, all free of charge.
However, there is a catch. Once someone enters this tavern…they don’t feel like leaving.
This map is part of my Dwarven, Elven, & Orc taverns pack. You can download the first three maps for free here.

Photos of the three-story set I designed and built for my D&D Curse of Strahd finale session last weekend! At 1" scale, it's just over 18" tall and about 2 feet wide, and features a grid of ~130 WS2812B LEDs under the floor which I used to indicate various environmental effects over the course of the battle.

Props such as the pews and statues as well as the minis were either purchased or downloaded from shapeways or thingiverse, though I did construct the wooden golem made of pews myself and all but a few minis were hand-painted by myself or my partner.

Sometimes I’m just so overwhelmingly grateful I am an artist and I can do fun stuff like this as a DM for my campaign 😭
I’ve discovered the world of isometric maps and I think they’re super fun for online dnd games where you still want to feel like you have minis. There’s not a lot of customizable isometric ttrp stuff I’m personally drawn to out there so I decided to make my own tile sets and will slowly start making monster tokens and stuff. Not to plug myself but this is why I’ve decided to open a ko-fi soon so I can share the tile sets and tokens I end up making 🙈

The Red Velo Tavern
Another Map for Sauvias! This is the Red Velo Tavern, located in the outer western region of the city of Torebli. It get's it's name from the owner's pet Velociraptor, Rusty who can often be seen hanging around the stage on the ground floor, waiting for patrons to drop their snacks.
The red velo is a middle of the road tavern, cost-wise, however, patrons can sometimes win a free night's stay and meals at the nightly talent shows the tavern hosts. They also offer pet-sitting for when your adventures are a little too dangerous for pets.

I made a bunch of brushes and drag-and-drop assets so I can make these kinds of maps quicker, even when I don't have my drawing tablet with me (e.g. when I'm traveling or having a flare up and can't sit at my desk for long periods of time). I'm planning to make them public once I figure out how to actually do that, but Clip Studio was being difficult so that might be a while still lol.
[ID: A map showing a top-down view of the inside of a medieval tavern. There is a bar near the front door and two bedrooms near the entrance. Further along is a wide dining area with a number of square tables. On the left side of the dining area is a stage with several bar stools gathered around it./End ID] [ID2: Another map showing the second floor of the tavern. Along the right and bottom sides of the floor are 4 bedrooms and a washroom. A chunk has been cut out of this floor, creating a balcony-like arrangement allowing guests upstairs to see the stage below. It is shown that a rudimentary wooden lift connects the two floors. /End ID2]

As a yearly tradition at this point. I put on a special Halloween DnD one-shot. This year in particular there were enough people interested from outside my normal group that I had enough for two full parties. Friends of friends or co-workers that were interested in seeing what all the talk was about. I couldn't possibly have 10 people at my table, not including myself. So I split them in to two separate days, for the Saturday and Sunday before Halloween.
Tumblr media
Now I take great care in crafting a theme for the one-shot. I think about it way ahead of time. This year I got my inspiration through an nothing in particular conversation with my girlfriend who mentioned the phrase "mimic house". It was a spark in my mind immediately and had to play it cool and not explode with enthusiasm, as she would be one of the future players. Since mid-August I plotted and schemed and researched and homebrewed.
By early September my premise was set and a whole Mimic theme was set forth. Now I knew the jig would be up if everything they encountered was a mimic in different forms. Instead I scrounged for monsters which appear mundane until they decide to strike. Vine blights, animated armors, and of course a standard mimic chest made their way in.
Tumblr media
The mystery was set up to look like a haunting. Some noble's manor was experiencing supernatural threats. Any and all poltergeist type manifestations still work, especially if everything is mimicry. The progression was structured by finding the correct keys for the correct doors or locks. Any attempts at picking were futile, as the lock simple moved the pins out of the way making it impossible. I banked on my player's better judgement to not try battering down doors, which paid off. Find the key, unlock the door to find the next key.
Tumblr media
At the end they found the hidden sub-basement. The house's heart dangled. Tendons would lash out and attack the players. After a bit of damage on the heart, the entire house would reveal itself to be a gargantuan mimic and run off.
Tumblr media
The boss fight took place in the woods as the mimic house thrashed about. The wooden siding and shingles were invulnerable, but the fleshy underside was exposed. The heart itself was vulnerable to slashing and piercing damage, balancing the fight for the lv 6 party. The only way to fight it was to get underneath the house. That is also where the mimic could whip with its tendrils or thrust jagged wooden planks.
It was a great time, across two very different parties. It was also very interesting seeing how different groups approached the same problems; I have never run the same campaign twice. Everyone enjoyed the classic mimic chest, carefully hidden in the attic, and all were blown away by the surprise and scale of the mimic house.
P.S. Credit to the movie Monster House for its unconscious influence. I didn't realize the resemblance or remember the movie until early October when I mentioned the concept to a friend (who was not a player) and they brought it up. Love that movie.

Enter a dense and deadly expanse where vibrant foliage conceals lethal threats at every turn. Its air hangs heavy with the scent of poisonous blooms, while its tangled undergrowth shelters legions of venomous serpents, making it a treacherous realm for any who dare to venture within.
Hi guys, welcome to Lushfang Jungle! This map pack features 16 total maps, including jungle waterfalls, villages, ruins, and much more.
Here are some quest ideas to get you started:
As the adventurers navigate the poisonous jungle, they stumble upon a tribe of natives who worship a deadly serpent deity, and they must uncover the truth behind the tribe's dark rituals before becoming sacrifices themselves.
A deadly plant known as the "Veil of Madness" has begun to spread throughout the jungle, causing hallucinations and violent behavior in those who come into contact with it, and the adventurers must find a way to destroy the source before succumbing to its effects themselves.
Rumors abound of a mysterious fog that rolls through the jungle at night, leaving behind petrified corpses in its wake, and the party must brave the deadly mist to uncover its origin and put an end to the terror it brings.

Rise of the Undead - graves are torn open as the walking dead flood the earth…
The rumored night has come. According to the legend, the dead will begin to rise on the full moon. Graves will be torn open by emaciated fingers, tombs will be shattered by maleficent forces, and the land will be flooded with undead. That is, unless our heroes manage to stop it...
This map depicts graves being torn open as undead rise and flood the graveyard. This could serve as a "last stand" for the players, or even a survival encounter if the undead become too numerous.
You can download all 8 phases for free here.
