Right, so, as far as aesthetics go, this man is already pretty, but then they stuck him in a uniform, and I've always been a sucker for a uniform. He gives gremlin vibes this entire show, despite the serious face that is just stuck like that. (I am starting to sense a pattern...).

7. Prapai (Fort Thitipong) - Love in the Air

What does this man do? Seemingly, nothing. He has way too much time on his hands and a clearly overworked secretary, but I will say the lack of brain cells and puppy dog eyes kinda worked for me. (not enough to finish the series, but I was digging him).

6. Jang Jae Young (Park Seo Ham) - Semantic Error

I love how freakishly tall this man is. Once again I have found an absolute terror of a man (this one totally has a golden heart) and latched onto him instantly. The fact that he came with a built in size difference is just the icing on the cake.

Right so this last one was actually hard to pick between Porsche and Kinn, buuuuut if I'm going form a character aesthetic approach I have to give the #1 spot to Kinn. My man slays through the majority of this show with suits on point, and cocky faces galore. I kinda hate him a little bit for how long I had to scroll to find an unflattering gif. "People might say he doesn't count because he can pass for a normal platypus but he is clearly anthropomorphic while acting as a secret agent. Walking on two legs, opposable thumbs etc. And in case you are like my mom who insists he can't be interesting or have a personality because he doesn't talk, he can clearly communicate through nonverbal means (facial expressions, body language etc) as well as being show to be able to read and write. He also texted in one episode (I love the platypus emoji out of symbols here lol) I personally find him to have the most fascinating secret identity situation literally in anything. He has to hide his whole personality and the fact that he is even intelligent at all from the people who he grew up around and fully sees and his family and are the most important people to him (in the second dimension movie they show him adopted by Phineas and Ferb as a baby platypus). If they find out about that he will be sent away or they have to forget finding out. It's so unique because he's straight up a person like with human intelligence but he has to pretend to not be to keep is family which is crazy and honestly really sad. The second dimension movie is a masterpiece for exploring that relationship and I will never stop thinking of it as one of my favorite things of all time. Also when I was 13 Perry the Platypus was my first crush lol which sounds weird but like his theme songs literally says "and the women swoon whenever they hear him say... *perry sound*" So it's not my fault dhskhfkjsahf THEY KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING"

I need to COMPLAIN.

This is gonna sound edgy nerdy not so girblogger coded but let me getto out of my silly girlie pop character for a minute i am RAGING.

For context two days ago i suddenly remembered that WEBTOON exists after trowhing it in a black hole in my mind, so i re download it and i start reading one. Apart from the endorphines i forgot a good webtoon gave me,

(whole other talk about redescovering old intrests !!!even if they look silly!!! when you feel a dry mind)

I finished it in a couple of days, and as i usually did when concluding a webtoon, a comic or any possible thing i liked, i start looking for the edits so i can imagine myself being in that universe while playing them.

(its a physical need i swear)

(No judgment let me being a cringy kid at the sound age of eighteen thanks)

(Its a guilty pleasure.)

Getting to the point. I am in DISAPPOINT.

What the fuck are these dry stupid no personality rage triggering edits.

They are MID.

What the hell are these kids doing!?!

I had to scroll through YEARS to find the good ones.

So i started my reaserches.

First of all, i got to the sad conclusion that instagram edits are going through extinction.

Back in the days (☝🏻) when tik tok (musically for the ancient) wasn't that big of a thing for edits, you went on instagram (at least i did!!) And they were TOP TIER.

Masterpieces.

I would've hanged them on my walls if they were physical.

They were energetic, fresh, powerful, you could tell who's edits were by they're style because the editor's styles were so different one another.

They fitted the medias perfectly and don't let me start on the transitions.

They were immaculate.

Perfect to the millimeter.

These type of edits made me immerge in the media even more, i had my favourite edits saved, (a LOT), and i watched them every night before going to sleep multiple times, they were a lullaby to the mind.

But on my trip to these new (and few) Instagram edits... I was horrified.

First of all, no character whatsoever is put in these digital scums, the personal style is gone.

Probably due to these ages generations who wants to look the same be one another fit into something precise (I dont have the strength to start another fuss I'll just keep going with my silly polemic) but the transitions.

They are MID MID MID even terrible.

Actually I hate them.

There is not an ounce of effort in those disturbing sliding of images.

There isn't flow, variations,good blends. They all look like they were made by 10 year olds (wich is prob the case) and don't tell me oh it's just the age they'll learn as they grow.

No.

I want the twelve year old freaks that edited like it was they're last day on earth.

Like theyre life depended on it.

Where did they go?!?

What's wrong with this generation? why didn't they pick up the heredity theyre ancestors gave them?

Why did they throw it all away?

Why are they descending into this madness abyss?

And the music choices.

Disgusting

They never match the mood of the fiction, or worse the mood of the edit itself.

And honestly they're just boring ass songs.

Now, what I said about these Instagram edits applies also for the tik tok ones, but with some differences.

First of all, because there's much more editors on tik tok now, luckily there are some exceptions.

Some good stuff that's going on, but for me it's still not enough. From the parameter of the golden age of edits, those edits are just.. average.

The average good stuff you save and lightly watch. Its hard to find an edit that makes you obsessed. It wasn't really back than.

And most of them still lack the personal style, that again, I think its crucial for the ideal enjoyment.

I also noticed that the capability of the editors changes based on wich media the edits are of.

Like for example the editors of jujutsu kaisen (dont ask me anything i didn't see it) aren't doing a so bad job.

Maybe because the target audience is older so are the editors, idk

But it still lacks something.

That sparkle that was there before

The one that made you crave to watch it again and again

Maybe it's just me who's lacking something I had before , and nothing else changed

In conclusion, I think the editing culture ended at the start of 2022.

Synopsis : Leo has been working on a soundtrack for an upcoming TV series and it finally started airing !! Just as he was about to show you what he composed, he finds you excitedly rambling about it while analyzing it musically. He couldn’t help but eavesdrop.

Seeing them freak out and excitedly explain certain techniques is super interesting to me even though I’m not a musician myself hehe~ I was mainly inspired by Alex Moukala Music !! His videos are really cool, you should definitely check him out !!

It finally happened !! The series Leo composed for finally aired their first episode and he couldn’t wait to show you his masterpieces !! The moment he landed back in Japan, he immediately set his sights on New Dimension in order to find you. He searched high and low for you within the building and was about to give up before he finally noticed you inside one of the rooms on a video call of sorts. Leo guessed it was most likely with your [ F/M ] overseas considering that you two were quite close.

A wide grin appeared on his face but just as he was about to ambush you with a hug, he noticed a familiar scene playing on your screen paired with a very faint melody that escaped your headphones. Usually, he would just ignore this and make his presence known but what you said caught his attention;

“Don’t even get me started with how he used bass trombones here to represent the sheer power of the villain !! It’s such a simple and straightforward technique but it’s done so well especially after the more quiet, atmospheric melody that was playing just moments before~”

God, now Leo’s fighting the urge to tackle you [ affectionately ] but, at the same time, he still wanted to hear what else you had to say. You always told him how much you loved his works and never failed to express how much you thought his techniques were brilliant. Sometimes, you even asked him how he came up with these combinations but he always said that it was natural because “I'm a genius !!”

This was the first time he heard you actually analyzing his works and it piqued his interest. This curiosity got the better of him so he sat on one of the empty chairs in the room and listened. After all, you wouldn't mind right?

Honestly, he was surprised at the fact that you haven’t noticed him yet, but he guessed that it was probably because of your headphones since he learnt, via experience, that they were noise canceling.

A few more minutes passed and Leo couldn’t help but feel extremely giddy and happy. You kept complimenting his soundtrack all the while analyzing and explaining why you found each technique to be fantastic. However, at some point you jumped out of your seat in shock, which caused Leo to jump in his seat in surprise;

“HELLO ?! WHAT IS THIS ?!”

Leo noticed you pausing as a small moment of silence filled the room. This silence started to make Leo feel anxious because he couldn’t see your facial expressions from where he sat.

Did you like it? Did you hate it? Was the song actually bad and not a masterpiece after all? Did you pause it because you couldn't bear to listen to it any longer?

Insecurities slowly started to bubble up inside him as his mind started to fill up with negative thoughts and memories but, before anything could happen, those feelings were quickly washed away when you finally spoke again;

“I actually had to process how amazing that was for a second… The way Leo starts off with a standard chord but breaks away from its expected progression into something more unexpected creates a clash between something heroic and villainous which completely diverts our expectations. You can already tell that this is a grandiose encounter between the main cast and the villain… I LOVE IT SO MUCH YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND-”

Joy, excitement and pure relief engulfed Leo and he couldn’t hold himself back anymore. Leo tackled you into a massive hug, all the while laughing happily as you were caught by surprise by his sudden appearance.

“Wahaha~☆ I never knew you thought about my songs like that! It makes so~ happy~! Ahhh, my heart is bursting with so much love! I love you [ Y/N ] ♪”

Kiburi’s an actual rapper who had a hand (claw) in helping write the villain songs, especially with Janja’s lyrics. Kiburi also wanted to do a solo in “Run this Dump” but his record label wouldn’t let him

-He probably writes his own version

He and Makuu are pretty good friends irl

Oh speaking of which, it’s one of the songs that won an award. Jasiri, Ushari, and Kiburi all collaborated on it and it was legit their greatest masterpiece

-The other songs that won an award were “Sisi ni Sawa” and “A New Way to Go” (both songs Jasiri wrote herself)

-They got the news during the shooting of a scene by someone shouting “WE FREAKING WON”. There was a huge party at Janja’s afterwards. Kiburi has picked up Makuu during the excitement

-Kiburi wasn’t allowed to speak during the ceremony due to the fact that he gloats to the other nominees. Reirei offers to do it instead

They got Kenge as a guest star from another show and he accidentally keeps mixing up the two. “Oops, wrong show” is something he says a lot

This one’s my favorite: Tamka is actually English as opposed to the New Yorker accent he does in the show

“Cut! Hey Tamka, can you say that in like a New York mobster kind of voice?”

Believe it or not, Sumu’s really shy and introverted off-camera. He gets so awkward when someone recognizes him in public. He gets even more surprised when people are positive about it like “Wait, you LIKED my part? You think I’m a good villain? Really?”

-He’s even apologized profusely about what his character was about to do and if he was being too scary. He swears he would never sting out of malice

Bunga gets along well with his “enemies” offscreen. He and Ushari’s friendship is so wholesome and Mama Binturong freaking loves him. She is THE mom figure ever. You know how Danny DeVito took care of Mara Wilson during the filming of Matilda? That’s Mama with Bunga

Mama’s the mom figure to everyone, honestly. She’s interrupted filming just because Ushari or Janja didn’t have breakfast that morning

Ushari doesn’t need to act much he’s already done with everybody’s shit

He and Shupavu are married irl

Njano got a part due to being the director’s son. Yup, good ol nepotism. He sometimes needs help with his lines

Bunga’s the best with improv. 98% of his stunts are improvised

Makucha has a friendlier, higher pitched voice irl. Sometimes doing his gravelly voice hurts his throat

Ora plays his part so well, everybody’s genuinely scared of him

The cloud and fire used for Mufasa and Scar are done with special effects and puppets

The Little Mermaid Live Action

I’m so freaking prepared for this movie and it’s not even funny!!!!!!!!!!! I’ve watched the trailer so many times since the full trailer was released.

The original Little Mermaid movie was and is still one of my all time favorite Disney movies. And now just seeing in come to life is amazing. I can already tell you I’m gonna be in tears probably halfway through the movie.

There are probably a million reasons why I’m so excited but I’m only going to talk about my top 3.

Halle Bailey: She such a beautiful woman and a wonderful singer. I heard her singing only a few times before, but when I really heard her voice was during the Disney World 50th Anniversary and she sang “Can You Feel Love Tonight” and she has such a beautiful singing voice. I also read this article somewhere online about Jodi Benson (the original Ariel) and her opinion about Halle playing Ariel. Jodi Benson has been very supportive of Halle as she plays Ariel and was there when Halle received backlash about her playing Ariel. So, Jodi Benson talked about how it doesn’t matter who you are, what you look, or where your from, it’s about the spirit of the character is what’s important. I 100% agree with her. Halle Bailey is going to do a wonderful job by bring one of the most iconic Disney princesses to life.

2. The Music and New Songs: Can we just take a moment and talk about Lin-Manuel Miranda?!?! As everyone should know, he wrote the Broadway musicals “In The Heights” and “Hamilton” and has also written music for other Disney movies like “Encanto” and “Moana”. Lin-Manuel is also a big Disney fan and he also named his son after Sebastian in the little mermaid. And now he gets to work with Alan Menken (the original music composer) and he was the one who inspired Lin-Manuel to compose music. He basically gets to work with his hero and that’s amazing!!!! I’ve also read somewhere that Lin-Manuel might be Chef Louis in the movie.

Ok, now the music. We all have to admit that the original soundtrack slaps!!!! They are classics and masterpieces. I can’t wait to listen to it again in the live action. I have a feeling some of the songs might be a tad different from the original, but that doesn’t bother me. The have done the same thing in all the other Disney live action movies and I love those movies.

I’m really excited to hear these new songs in the movie. As I said earlier, Lin-Manuel Miranda got up work with Alan Menken and wrote 4 new songs. Can’t wait to hear them and listen to them like a million times once the soundtrack comes out.

3. The Actors: Besides Halle Bailey as Ariel, I think they did an amazing job with the cast. I mean, you could have picked better than these actors and actresses to play these roles.

Awkwafina as Scuttle: If you didn’t know who she is, Awkwafina was in “Jumamji: The Next Level” and “Chang-Shi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”. She is a really funny actress and always makes me laugh. I think she will make a great Scuttle.

Daveed Diggs as Sebastian: I think everyone had a feeling that he would play Sebastian before the trailer even came out. He was in “Hamilton” with Lin-Manuel Miranda and also rapped a whole bunch in the musical. I read somewhere that he might rap in the movie and that makes me happy. He honestly fits the role of Sebastian perfectly.

Melissa McCarthy as Ursula: Just like Awkwafina, Melissa McCarthy also makes me laugh as well. She was in the movie “Life of the Party” and Netflix “Thunder Force”. I’m excited to see her bring out her inner diva while playing Ursula.

Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric: First of all, he is extremely cute and hot. When I first saw him I was like blushing like crazy. Also, he was in “A Dog’s Way Home” and the tv show “World On Fire”. I’m excited to see him play Prince Eric. Another thing to point out is that Prince Eric was my Disney Prince crush when I was little and that crush it starting up again.

Those are my top 3 reasons why I am excited about the Live Action Little Mermaid. I won’t be able to wait any longer as it approaches theaters.

And I also like « showed me. » I already loved it when the single came out, but I don't know, I love it even more. This song gives off “femme fatale” vibes.

“Dangerous” is beautiful. This song is so graceful and moving. His voice is really highlighted.

and “Reckless” ! it became Madison’s iconic work. Her most listened to song on Spotify. I loved it as a single, but I swear I love it even more now! This song deserves its place on this album.

I'd Rather Drown

Amazing pick!! You askers have somehow already found both of my favourite songs from cinematics. Let's dive in.

I'd rather drown is another absolute masterpiece of a song. Unlike songs like plastic promises, which I warmed up to over time, the very first time I heard this song I knew I loved it. My very high opinion of this song has remained consistent over the three years I've been listening to sio, so consistent in fact that it is my 5th most listened to song on spotify of all time.

The electronic synth intro is iconic, and always brings me joy when I hear it. I absolutely love the biting way Cody sings the lyrics, and the way it all flows together is so satisfying, especially the line "how to treat people like a piece of meat". That line scratches my brain in such a good way. The verses are super catchy, and the pre-choruses are absolutely excellent. The way the drums slow down for the first two lines, then go fast again as they lead into the chorus always gets me moving, whether it's head banging or tapping my foot. (That usually depends on if I'm alone lol.) Also, the way Cody says "heartless snare" in his accent is super satisfying to me as an english person, and always fun to replicate when I'm singing it myself.

The chorus is incredible, and so catchy it's almost unbelievable. What a world, where because of Cody Carson, I constantly find myself singing "burn the bitch down" under my breath in a pleasant tone while making lunch. "I never will cross that bridge again" is another fun line to say in Cody's accent. The whole thing is so theatrical, I find myself making facial expressions and gesturing dramatically whenever I'm singing this chorus, that's how epic it is. It might actually be tied with freak show for best sio chorus of all time. "I never let people in, and I have you to remind me why" is SUCH a good melody to sing.

There are even notable changes to the second verse, such as the isolated beating drums behind "making boys drool at her will" and the way he goes higher and longer when he sings "the one I bear". Amazing stuff, you know a song is special when the verses are melodically different.

But honestly, the highlight of this perfect song is literally everything that comes after the second chorus. The bridge is sheer excellence, with Cody screaming the last line of the chorus blending so well into the "drown me" and so on, which always gives me goosebumps because of the satisfyingly smooth way Cody sings it. And then the ascending "rather"s and the absolutely iconic "sing it boys" sets the tone for one of the best sio song finales ever.

I mean, the stripped back beginning of the chorus with almost choir like backing vocals, the epic drums leading into the instruments coming back faster than before, and the absolutely incredible layered vocals from Cody that finishes out the song?? I mean, nothing I say can fully capture the majesty that is the ending of this song. Everyone say thank you Cody Carson for this pure masterpiece.

10/10, perfection, and my 7th favourite sio song of all time. Cody, you'd better play this song the next time you tour the uk. If you don't I will never forgive you.

God, I would love to sit inside your brain and intercept every single one of your tho(ugh)t processes, analyze why you decided to put one particular word over another and such (also I was picturing Price on all fours until you mentioned that he was on his back. what's your thought process there?).

As for some of the questions posed:

With Price, I tried to be as true to his character (or the way I perceive his character) as I could be when I wrote this. I know it's just smut, and pegging smut at that!, but I like realism in whatever I read and since I usually write stuff that I like, I needed to include it. It had to make sense to me. I don't think Price would do this with just anyone, but if he mentioned it - he wants it. He was fairly confident through the whole thing, whereas MC was freaking out. I liked the contrast between their characters.

I don't think he'd be inclined to be on his knees for the first time. It would be something he needs to build up to before he gives up that aspect of himself. This was already quite a heavy experience, and so. It just made sense to me that he'd be on his back, with MC over him so he can watch their expressions, and take in the experience as it flickers over their face.

It's also infinitely more intimate, which is what - in Price's head - was the goal?? Like, it was a hot moment, but it was also fostering more trust, and taking a deeper plunge into their relationship. It delves into this a bit more at the end when MC finally has a moment to step away from "JESUS I AM "BALLS" DEEP INSIDE CAP PRICE RIGHT NOW" and look at things with a wider perspective.

It also gives him a modicum of control as well. Which, I think is the basal aspect of his character.

That's quite wordy for what this fic is, OMG. That's sort of what I volleyed back and forth in my head before writing this one.

And I was listening to Purity Ring!!! I rediscovered them through Letterkenny and this song is quite intense to me. The lyrics are just so PERFECT. All of my fics have connecting songs to them that either set the tone when I was writing or explore a different facet of what I want to convey through the lyrics. Usually, it's just atmosphere, but for Fineshrine - it was both!
