Lack Of Self-Awareness? How To Be More Self-Aware
To be Self-Aware is the foundation of a happy and fulfilling life. When aware of our strengths, weaknesses, thoughts, feelings, and motivations, we can better make choices aligned with our values and goals. Having an angel by our side can help us conquer our own lack of self-awareness. Call Forth, An Angelic Helper Continue reading Untitled

kiryuu sibling stasis post-32 is so interesting to me. nanami tries to leave and is (temporarily but also, crucially, violently) prevented from doing so by touga and akio. after this experience she puts distance between herself and them: she leaves touga’s phone in the car, she resigns from the student council (though she dons her old uniform still), she repeatedly dismisses and undermines the authority of the rose code, of end of the world, of akio, of touga. but she’s still in ohtori, isn’t she? uncomfortable with the idea of leaving, uncertain if it’s really possible. she tried before, and it hurt her. deeply. it’s so interesting to me, nanami’s agency and how she limits her exertion of it after 32, when she realises it for what it is. contrast that with touga, who accepts this weird stalemate between them, who is, really, uninterested in having any relationship of any kind with nanami if he can’t gain something from her. he’s very passive with her after 32, compared to the passivity he’d always feigned towards her before in order to stoke reactions from her and then exploit them. i was thinking about how touga has always been able to sever his relationship with nanami, but chosen not to; first out of a sense of obligation (‘we should live to help each other’) then a realisation of how that could be exploited. i was thinking about how nanami has never realised her ability to leave, in part because it is limited by touga and the harm he does her. i was thinking about the desperation and confusion akio calls out to anthy with as she leaves. i was thinking about how different that is to the kiryuus’ strange semi-breakdown; touga doesn’t want or need nanami, and nanami might love her brother but she cannot trust him or feel safe around him, doesn’t want to see him anymore; she’s itching to leave, and just a little scared (you know, because last time she tried that her brother assaulted her), and he’s not doing anything because ignoring her means he doesn’t have to deal with the emotions of her leaving or staying. something something gendered power dynamics something something tragic siblings

SAGAU except they're aware of what goes on when you go into the character menu???
Particularly when they pray as you hop onto the artifacts menu to raise em, whether is for for them, another character to which some might try to purposely mess the rolls up bc oops! looks like they can't use that now! :) guess they'll have to wait., or just to make space for more bc HOW IS YOUR ARTIFACT STORAGE FULL ARE YOU OKAY??? Σ(・∀・;)
Whenever you raise their artifacts they kinda feel bad if it rolled into the wrong subs when you raise it with them and would either apologize or say that it'll roll better on the next one, they know it will!! (it did not 😔)
That or they don't bc they felt silly and wanted to spite you so guess you gotta do a few more runs to try again teehee 😗👉👈 they eventually roll a ridiculously amazing artifact at some point, but just this once!
(or y'know the opposite where there's always this one character you always use to raise artifacts bc they always get the best rolls and best subs? yeah imagine them celebrating w you at how good the stats rolled too!!)
Kinda like how if you try to make gear in tkrb there's a chance of it shattering (therefore failing) instead of being able to create one and when that happens the character you brought with you for those will say things like "oh no, it broke! i'm so sorry :(" or "i-it's okay!! let's try again...!" or you just flat out hear sobbing noises bc your new feather low rolled all 5 into defense FLAT 😭 BASICALLY THAT YEAH

richarlison as a concept is so funny to me because he is literally such an amazing human being who gives back to his community constantly and actively speaks against the injustices of the world and then you’re reminded of his instagram following and that he now has a tattoo of neymar jr on his back

So what really inspired you to make a good Vlad au, cause I really enjoyed it.
I may have mentioned it before but it’s specifically the fact that I never imagined a scenario where VLAD is the one who makes the first move towards his own redemption. I always envisioned Danny or Jack giving him a big speech to help wake him up from his delusions, but never thought of a scenario where an event outside the main cast could be the catalyst to Vlad finding the right path himself.
Because then, I have to make him travel this path alone in an attempt to mend his broken relationships, rather than making the people closest to him outstretch their hands and show him a place he can let his guard down.
Eventually both paths will lead to similar conclusions and events, but I guess I was just fascinated with how this path started and how that would affect how he approaches the matter.
Hope that answers your question ✌️

[Image ID: an excerpt from the MAG 123 transcript. "I have no theories on this. No – no sudden insights. (sigh) I wish I could talk it through with Martin. Or Tim. Or Sasha. But we never really did that, did we? (sigh) Everything’s changed. (shaky, long breath). End ID]
This is going around as a sound on TikTok, prompting me to listen to it several dozen times, and...
Did you ever notice that Jon's voice cracks, just slightly, when he says Martin's name? 🥲

the thing about yosuke’s shittiness around here (up close and personal, the campout) is that the vast majority of it isn’t doing literally anything for his character. i completely think yosuke’s shittiness is important to his character, but it’s by and large reflections of his own insecurities and flaws. he’s insecure about his masculinity and sexuality, he’s lame, he’s selfish, he’s obsessed with the idea of women, his mouth moves faster than his brain, he doesn’t like himself, and he cares way too much about the societal ideal of ‘normal’. but it’s really important that he’s self-aware! he knows when the things he says are shitty, he knows he’s lame, he knows he’s selfish, he knows he’s putting up a front of being carefree and normal. but there’s absolutely no self awareness here, there’s no recognizing he went too far and apologizing the next day, there’s no regret, there’s not even any self-deprecation, and there’s absolutely no compassion or empathy like he has in serious moments. a lot of what he says is just mean for meanness’s sake, in an execution incongruous with previous behaviour. it’s not even funny!

i love it when the voices start speaking to me and they make me realize that the reason i sympathize and feel bad for alicent’s children is because i AM alicent’s children.
i’m the child being overlooked in favor of someone else, the ones who have to watch their mother beg for their father to realize that his inactions are harming me. the one being scorned and sneered upon while being told that my father figure isn’t my father, he’s my authority figure, the one who holds the rod instead of being my nurturer.
i’m aemond after he loses his eye, and is watching alicent beg for viserys to do something to help him. i’m aegon slowly wasting away as he tries to live up to the mantle of king that was forced on his head. i’m heleana who speaks of the misfortunes of her family but is ignored and pitied.
i feel like every person who has been emotionally, physically, mentally, etc. abused in their childhood can find pieces of themselves within each of the green children because they’re just the beacon and poster child of how the same abuse can make so many different types of adults.

Gooood AM imagine Law meeting his Seraphim (?) who has all his traumatic memories up till Cora and before meeting the hearts. Manga spoilers for Seraphims ig but not really cos i doubt they made one of Law.
They run into him after Law and Bepo are separated from the crew. Bepo can’t help but befriend him. Law thinks he’s seeing ghosts again.
Law forgetting how small and haunted he was at the time, a child that had everything taken from him. He’s laughing at the irony of where he is now. How cruel.
He tries to restrain himself but imemdiately does a Skan. Just to be sure. You never know with these clones.
The Seraphim looking up at him under the brim of his hat, more intrigued than anything. “How did we survive?”
Law knows what the kid is asking about. Flevance. Cora. Dolflamingo. But given his current situation, he doesn’t feel like talking about survival.
Seraphim!Law continues, “Was it always just you? And the bear?” He notices Law going stiff. He lowers into a whisper, “Are we still running?”
Bepo steps in and comforts the confused boy. Dolflamingo is gone. Law fought him and won. They’re just…temporarily separated from their crew. Law is forever grateful for Bepo’s optimism. Seraphim!Law still has questions.
“But you’re injured! He’s bleeding internally, what happened? Vegapunk said we were made from the strongest and scariest pirates, but…”
Law puts him in a quiet bubble. God. He suddenly understands Cora. Was he that annoying?
Instead of panicking, Seraphim!Law eyes light up. He Rooms himself out of the bubble. “You learnt the thing! That’s so cool!!”

With the benefit of a bit of distance I think what most annoyed me about all the to-do about Imogen being angry with Laudna and all the "is (being ruthlessly and brutally murdered solely to send a threatening message and then waking up, noose still around your throat) really worse than being in a fight with your bestie" is that I actually agree that Laudna has been profoundly lonely for decades and Imogen represented an end to that - but I never saw an exploration of the actual implications or anything surrounding that, only a dwelling on a tiny isolated corner of angst.
The fact is that Laudna has lived an immensely lonely life for the past 30-ish years, living in isolated huts and being intermittently driven out. She's aware of it; it shows. Her relationship with Pâté is one she openly states came from being on her own with absolutely no one else to talk to (although more on that in a second). However, it's worth exploring both why, and what less flattering things this says about it.
The why is simple: by being murdered, she was turned into something that is somewhat monstrous. She doesn't age and she looks unsettling and it creeps people out. It's fair to say that the reason for her loneliness can be tracked back to that same "worse thing that ever happened to her", so I think it's also fair to say that yeah, it's still the worst thing that ever happened to her, because it was not only unbelievably traumatic in itself but is also why other, lesser pains have been inflicted on her. And given that she openly says this, I have to imagine that it's influenced her feelings on self-preservation in a way that doesn't necessarily work out well when more lives than her own are at stake.
The less flattering things were actually especially apparent because of Dusk. For all Dusk tried to insinuate their way into the party, and succeeded in at least getting what they wanted - Birdie Calloway - over half the party is suspicious well before the reveal. Imogen, Ashton, and Chetney always take something of a cynical view towards others (although Ashton mostly just ignores Dusk and leaves that to other people, being far too busy with his business in Bassuras.), and Orym has a more healthy guard mentality that still leaves him with some doubts. FCG is, like Ashton, far too busy with their own revelations to care. This leaves Fearne - desperate for crumbs about her long-lost parents, and Dusk's primary mark - and Laudna.
Laudna latches on to Dusk, without much effort from Dusk - she's the one to make most of the initial overtures. Dusk exploits this, heavily, but at the same time barely needs to make an effort. Why would they, when Laudna is so quick to become involved with those who give her the time of day? And it's understandable on Laudna's part, but it's also a pretty significant liability for the party, especially at this still-delicate stage where they're hesitant to step on each other's toes regarding judgment. Perhaps Dusk's betrayal, as well as a potential escalation in Laudna's own thus far fairly minimal efforts to drive out Delilah, will change this, but right now it's a pretty significant concern.
