It all started with the death of Robert de Sablé.

After that, they only heard of the aftermaths.

It sounded like the massacre was random, high ranking and rich people of various backgrounds.

There were rumors that the Assassins have captured and tamed a wild beast.

But then…

Al Mualim died and, according to the rumors, the scene was just as gruesome as the other random massacres with only one other victim.

An Assassin by the name of Abbas Sofian.

A new mentor takes his place.

And… the killing stop.

Or so they thought.

It was only that the Templars hid better that news of the monster that kills those who worship God died down.

But the monster continues to hunt.

Again and again.

No matter where the Templars hid or how they pretend to be others.

The monster finds them.

And hunts them down.

Not even a cardinal…

… could escape the monster of the Brotherhood.

And it would be a while before the Templars realize...

Their only chance of survival is by making noises so loud, it will pierce the monster's heightened sense of sound.

uriel is definitely meant to look more councilor-like, given his role in heaven was far from fighting as one of god's warriors. the council met the same fate in the au, which is largely the trigger for gabriel falling all the way to treachery - he is relegated to judecca, the lowest layer of the lowest circle, which punishes those who betrayed their lords and benefactors (the inferno is. a very political text lol) none of them escaped from gabriel, and quite frankly....none of the archangels, including michael, mourn their loss as a governing entity. raphael at this point has blamed them for gabriel's fall - he is grieved for them personally, but does harbor resentment for their treatment of his brother. uriel never knew them as the rulers of heaven, falling into his coma before they took hold only to wake shortly after their slaughter when gabriel became a fallen angel. however, he believes any angel willing to fill a power vacuum so quickly has ulterior motives (as they are meant to serve), and he's heard enough from raphael to know he needn't spare them much thought now. michael sees them as heretics and actually approves of gabriel's actions (he believes gabriel's love of v1 is his true treachery, causing him to turn his back on god), viewing them as usurpers of god's throne on the same level as satan. in my mind, the council were a set of opportunistic angels that greatly encouraged michael to leave in search of god while using gabriel, a far more popular angel, to drive their cause until they had no more need of him. the archangels, after all, would have been their greatest competition with god now gone as they would be the natural choice to fill that void - but with uriel asleep, michael sent away, raphael not leader material on his own, and gabriel under their control, they solidified their grip on heaven. gabriel was always going to be gotten rid of once he out-lived his usefulness given that he was still too much of a threat even on his own...i do like to think uriel finds out much of this information from their documentation and what he simply Knows about each of the council's individual members. and finding out that they had a heavy hand in sending michael off as well as how they had planned gabriel's destruction...well, raphael is genuinely PISSED for the first time in his whole existence!!!!

“Chara’s the villain” “Chara’s the good guy” or perhaps Chara is meant to reflect the player in a similar way to Flowey, maybe you being meant to project your own name onto them but them still having their own true name shows that you can be similar but never the same. Flowey can access the files and Chara can deliver killing blows (theoretically, since you don’t manually deliver the hits on Sans or Flowey in Genocide) but ultimately you have the most power and neither of them can do anything about it. Flowey mistakes you for Chara in every route and not just the genocide route and I think that’s important. Flowey and Chara and you all watch over Frisk’s adventure with at least some influence and I think that’s important too. Chara could’ve had Frisk’s story of fulfilling the Delta Rune but came at the wrong time. Flowey and Chara are both stuck in death while they watch you achieve the thing that they died trying to do because they tried it at the wrong time. “You are wracked in a perverted sentimentality” in Flowey never stopping his search for Chara and Chara always watching and you constantly coming back to this game. One of Undertale’s key messages is anti-completionism (cycle of nostalgia) and by continuing to come back and achieve/relive everything you can you are stuck in the same cycle as Flowey and Chara.
