Mcyt with an s/o who's a voice acter for video game characters? They mostly do voice characters in horror games n stuff(like until dawn, where the characters are also modeled after the voice after if I remember correctly)
I just think their faces would be hilarious if the choice they make in the game ends up with y/n getting killed lol
OH MY GOD YESSSSS ; also tried to use different games and not the same for everyone but I'm not the heaviest story game gamer LMFAO ; also don't talk about how timeliness wouldn't make sense shhhhhh
MCYT ; video game voice actor
includes ; tommyinnit, tubbo, ranboo, badlinu, nihachu, quackity, & foolish gamers
warnings ; language & fictional violence and death/murder
masterlist
Tumblr media
TOMMYINNIT
somehow the topic of mc story mode came up and how you actually voice acted a few characters + one of the Jessie variants (whichever you picked as a kid 🙏)
"WHAT? WHY DIDNT I KNOW ABOUT THIS?"
"I mean I was like, fourteen. I don't think I even knew you yet"
"absolute betrayal"
he literally speeds to his office, downloads the first game and proceeds to stream for three hours playing it (he selects whichever Jessie you voiced of course)
"OH MY GOD THAT IS MY PARTNER, HOLY SHIT, LISTEN TO THEIR BABY VOICE!"
the tweets never end
"spot the difference" and its an old/new pic of you compared to jessie
💀💀💀💀
once he gets to the save Petra or Lukas scene he straight up pauses and playfully yells at you like you made the game?? 💀🙏
he dies so many times it's not even funny
love him tho
TUBBO
red dead redemption two 💀
forget the qsmp, once he finally downloads the game its all he's playing for a straight week
again, how the hell did he not know about this??
it was only 2018??
you voice a few of the townsfolk and a few of the supporting characters
everytime he hears your baby voice he's like "omg you sounded like that??" obviously he's been friends w you for a while so he doesn't notice voice changes
as an Easter egg, the player can actually kill one of the random townsfolk solely for being annoying with no consequences
it's modeled after you as well 💀💀💀
the npc just shouts annoying shit and doesn't shut up and is encouraged to kill the kid
tubbo kills the kid and unlocks the secret achievement
RANBOO
Detroit become human
the moment he finds out you voiced a minor character he speedruns trying to find you
the character is also modeled after you, so he's begging chat to keep an eye out for you too
you're basically just some very friendly person trying to help Connor but no matter what route he/the player takes, you wind up dead for the angst
ouuuu the heartbreak, the angst
if it's by being shot, betrayed, or committing your own death, you're gone bro
"y/n why the fuck does your character die in the worst ways possible?"
you shrug
"that genuinley hurt my feelings. I don't wanna play this anymore"
"you didn't get to Connors possible death scene yet!"
"WHAT?"
FREDDIE BADLINU
TLOU 2 (I don't support the makers zionist views, I just thought this fit. free Palestine and do your daily clicks)
was literally cheering you on the whole time when you were bts for voice acting your character
you had to take like scream classes to upgrade your screaming abilities lmao
you gave the voice to a character modeled after you, an infected teen who runs into ellie on her way through the game
she/the player is forced to put you down because you're not immune
L
he plays through the game and turns to you like "dude do I actually have to kill you to progress?"
you just nod
"I'm sorry, I didn't wanna do this"
THE DESPERATE SCREAMING GOT HIM
literally looked at you in horror
"...are you okay?"
you smile and nod
NIKI NIHACHU
life is strange
mf you would've been like 16?? damn get ur bag, okay
she plays through and you va (whoever you choose) and everytime she hears your voice she smiles
"omg that's my partner! that's y/n, you guys!! :D"
the cutest
literallt cries at the end of the game
"y/n, were you in life is strange two?"
"why?"
"Cause I wanna play it but I don't wanna get my hopes up about you being there"
"just play it, just play it. trust me"
ALEX QUACKITY
twdg s4
basically clem/the player gets really close to your character and ends up having to kill them after they turn into a walker
the angst, the heartbreak
he's never done a full let's play / game play like that before and especially with a full game series
when he got to s4 and heard you for the first time he literally started jumping around and screaming
now when you die... it's jumping and screaming alright (in anger and sadness)
"ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? I PLAYED ALL THOSE GAMES JUST FOR YOU TO DIE?"
"I mean there's an option to prevent me turning, you're just a dumbass"
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN? IM RESTARTING"
FOOLISH GAMERS
dead by daylight
you va'd multiple characters/killers
and the devs wanted to show appreciation by giving you your own playable character with your natural voice
when foolish finds out, he gets tubbo, quackity, tina & niki in a call to play dbd + stream for like 6 hours
loves seeing all the death animations you'd be given and all your voicelines
"OH MY GOD! guys this is my partner, they're so instantly talented at voice acting, holy shit!"
"we get it foolish, you love y/n"
"It's more than love, quackity, it's an obsession"
"my brother in christ, calm down"

Hi, sorry, Asshole Anon here (I’m not giving myself that nickname to lash out, I’m saying it because I was an ass)
To clarify: I mean “I don’t know what to trust anymore” in that “people whom I normally respect and would otherwise agree with are now sharing material that I find either morally indefensible or overtly simplistic, and at the same time people on the ground in Gaza are saying that Hamas IS a liberation organization, so I trust their word, but there is also the existence of the “We Want To Live” protests, and the fact that there’s now apparently a protest against a child that got killed that isn’t widely reported, with an attached video of said protest from somebody on the ground in Gaza, but it’s in Arabic, there are no subtitles, I cannot speak Arabic, and I don’t trust Google Translate”
I just want an objective sense of what is happening on the ground. I want to know what is and is not propaganda, because I (white, raised in a liberal(?) household, surrounded by white people) am especially susceptible to it. Once I have that objective sense of what the people in Gaza want, then I will be able to effectively and efficiently advocate for shit. But that also necessitates listening to orgs like Standing Together, B’Tselem, people IN Israel who want this shit to stop, and hoo BOY that ain’t gonna fly with those people I mentioned because of:
1. BDS saying that the org “normalizes the occupation”, but they’re made up of Palestinian activists and anti-apartheid veterans, I can’t discount their statement, not fully.
2. Netenyahu’s… Netenyahu
3. Twitter’s doing a great job of asserting that everyone in Israel is a — quoting directly here from a half-remembered Tweet — “genocidal maniac”, or wants the bombardment to happen. (Which I know for a fact is not the case, if the protests calling for a new election are anything to go by)
That’s not even getting into the domestic stuff. I’m in an org rn and I’m getting the sinking feeling that they’re gonna drop this thing like a hot potato when a ceasefire gets called. Just sucks.
Anyways, back to improvement. Just closing this out
I agree that we're currently in a paradoxical state where there is simultaneously ALL THE INFORMATION EVER and ACTUALLY NO INFORMATION AT ALL, and that's what makes it difficult to sort out true from false. It's also what contributes to compassion fatigue, where we are able to get extensive real-time information and/or eyewitness accounts about pretty much any tragedy or catastrophe anywhere in the world, and social media has created a space where we are expected to both immediately react to all that information and to do so in the "right" and "correct" way. Which is basically impossible, and is also what burns out young well-meaning people so hard, where they insist that there's nothing to be done except The Revolution, because they have been so inundated with this torrent of human suffering and it seems like small steps are in fact useless. I am a historian and I can tell you upfront that humans are simply not made to process that volume of information about ALL THE BAD THINGS EVERYWHERE. It's also impossible to have an informed opinion on all or sometimes any of it, but there is still the pressure to visibly do so and to do it in a way that fits in with what everyone in your peer group is saying, even if you don't understand it. So yes -- that is absolutely very difficult, and it's hard to filter or parse it.
That said, I don't think we actually need to have painstaking piece-by-piece analysis of every single piece of information out there, because there are in fact so many competing narratives, perspectives, fake news, disinformation campaigns, opinions, etc., and it will lead you to the same information paralysis: there's just too much of it to even start processing, and so your brain just gives up and reverts to those same simplistic cliches and things that "feel" right, regardless of whether or not they are. When you're trying to decide on the fine details of something, it helps to have an overall sense of the context and narrative that they're operating in. So for reference, these are some broad and basic analytic paradigms that I personally use when reading or thinking about any material in regard to the Israel/Hamas situation in particular:
No person of basic good faith and human decency wants the current situation in Gaza to be happening. However, the person/group that has the power to call it off -- i.e. Netanyahu and the current Israeli government -- has not done so despite increasing pressure from Western allies, because the situation is beneficial to Bibi personally and he sees more use in continuing it than making the decision for it to stop.
The governments of Western allies, therefore, can voice disapproval of Israel's actions (which they have been doing more and more frequently) but unless Netanyahu himself makes the choice to end the war, it will not stop. The West has recently given more and more signals that they are not prepared to countenance the ongoing destruction and genocide of Gaza, but yet again, Israel is its own sovereign country with its own powerful government, military, intelligence services, etc. The "anti-imperialists" who think the collective West can just reach in and turn off the violence whenever they please, and have just refused to do so because they're "bad people," are not being realistic. Western allies can exert pressure and leverage, but as long as Netanyahu himself wants to keep going, he will.
"People in Gaza" and "people in Israel" are not homogeneous blocs who think exactly alike. Some people in Gaza support Hamas. Some people do not. Hamas support has recently grown as a result of Israel's post-October 7 response, but it is not unanimous or unquestioned.
Hamas is the entity that started the current war by attacking Israel on October 7 and murdering/raping/kidnapping 1,000+ Israeli civilians. Hamas is also associated with Russia, Iran, Hezbollah, and other terrorist regimes/states, which are often defended by Online Leftists simply for being "anti-Western," regardless of how heinous their actions also are.
Netanyahu was wildly unpopular in Israel for MONTHS before this current war, due to his autocratic attempts to neutralize the Israeli Supreme Court and make the country even more of his personal fiefdom. There were huge, massive, ongoing protests against his naked power-grab for almost all of 2023, and he was so preoccupied with pushing it through that he ignored warnings from the Israeli and Egyptian intelligence services that Hamas was planning a major attack. These anti-Netanyahu demonstrations have continued and ramped up in intensity even in the middle of the war/attacks on Gaza.
As such, painting every single Israeli as mindlessly supporting the current actions of Netanyahu and the Israeli government is antisemitic nonsense and reflect the current Western Leftist tendency to assume that "all Israelis" and "all Zionists (read Jews)" are evil and personally responsible for this.
Israeli Jews have a right to exist and to reside on the land currently called Israel. Modern Israel was founded in 1948, three years after the end of WWII and the Holocaust, the greatest incidence of antisemitic mass murder in history, which is a fact that cannot be ignored and which western leftists eagerly calling for its total eradication and treating it as an illegitimate "white western settler colony" nonetheless do in fact repeatedly ignore.
This is why many Jews do not feel safe in other countries, because there has literally been thousands of years of history proving that they often aren't, and which the rabidly antisemitic response to the current conflict is doing nothing to dissuade.
Jews have had a presence in the land alternately called Palestine, Israel, the Holy Land, Judah, etc., for over 2,000 years, and their entire religion and history is founded around the exile from Jerusalem. That is the history that the current state of Israel is drawing on. It does not vanish just because it is inconvenient for western leftists to acknowledge.
Israel currently has a militant far-right government (after tending toward rightist/right wing domestic politics more generally, partially due to post-Holocaust trauma) that has deliberately erased, ignored, and violated the equally valid claims of Palestine and Palestinian people to that same land, and which is currently committing full-scale genocide against them.
Palestine and Palestinian/Muslim people have the same right to exist on that land as Israel and Israeli/Jewish people (and Christian people, and none-of-the-three people). They both have equally long and historically relevant claims to this land and one of them (in an ideal world, which we do not live in) should not be artificially prized over the other.
However, this land is some of the most bitterly and violently contested in the entire world, for the last two thousand years and counting, and there is no one good guy, simplistic answer, or quick way to stop it. The three Abrahamic faiths (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam) have fought bitterly over Jerusalem and its associated territories for a cool few millennia, and human nature being what it is, there is no way for one person, group, organization, government, etc to just step in and make it stop.
The Western/American leftist response to the current conflict has often made absolutely no attempt to take into account any of this troubled and complex history, and has reduced the whole thing down to whichever antisemitic and/or anti-Democratic Party soundbites will get them the most traction on social media. This often rests on whitewashing any moral responsibility belonging to Hamas and defending them no matter what, labeling all Israeli Jews as "evil genocide supporters," and assuming that if Biden wanted to magically shapeshift into Netanyahu and give the order to make it stop, he would, but he's "just not doing it," ergo something something Trump Would Totally Be Better!
These people also often call themselves "anti-imperialist" while thinking/demanding that America swoop in and play Big Global Policeman Daddy (as it indeed has often done in the past) and spank all its naughty children (but if it actually did do this, etc etc it would be evil). Biden could very much do more and has not necessarily done enough, but he has also done more than any other American president in history to shift away from unconditional unquestioning support of Israel only, and to advocate for a Palestinian state, a lasting ceasefire, and other basic precepts of Palestinian self-determination and dignity of personhood. These two things can be true at the same time.
I don't necessarily expect everyone to agree with every single fine detail of these statements, but I do expect them to at least make a basic effort to let all of these facts to inform their response, and not just the ones that they most agree with and which most fit their ideology or preferred conclusion. So that's one way to approach the situation, even if we obviously can't wring every single drop of meaning out of every single competing piece of information or evidence, because there is just too much of it. When we have a broader understanding of the space that we are operating in and the precepts that are factually true, we are able to make better judgments about who is trustworthy, who is worth listening to, what message they are pushing, and whether it corresponds with reality.
Good luck. I'm sure you'll continue to think about this and take the steps that you feel are best. It is all any of us can do.

"Kpop stans love when idols are visibly affected by the hate."
When I read this, it's as if a light bulb went off in my head. This is the essence of the problem. Throughout the years, Jimin has had moments where he expresses vulnerability, insecurity, and regret. And instead of admiring his humility or sincerity, they hate him for it. Because they think they can.
I think they are just looking for a chance to be a bully... because that option isn't available to them in their real life.
Sorry to bring up politics here, but these are the kind of people who admire Trump. He's a bully, yet they don't find that a bad thing. Because they'd like to be a bully, too.
As for the "he needs support." They're simply parroting what they've heard elsewhere, and really have no conception of what "support" means or how one acquires it. And you can have great "support" for your voice and still steuggle to find the correct key if you can't hear the music.
You may be correct that Jimin is best known as a dancer, but after Chapter Two and going forward, he will increasingly be known for his beautiful and unique voice and as an outstanding musical storyteller.
The thing is Jimin never acknowledges the hate. He never talks about it, he's insinuated that he knows about it and his personality change over the years proves that, but that's about it. The times when he's expressed those things you listed was never him reacting to the hate he gets online. It was about himself and how he never wants to let himself down.
If anything pjms are the ones who present him a certain. They spend all day painting him as someone who should be pitied because he gets hated on. While everyone loves to claim that their own fave gets the most hate like it's some competition and while I do agree that Jimin is at the top when it comes to idols who get a ton of hate, he still isn't the only Idol who gets hated on. Stop asking other pjms especially the blogs on here everyday about "why" he gets hate. Stop fixating on the hate he gets because you think you're his saviour. Stop saying stuff like "he's so sweet how can you hate him", stop telling us about how you're emotionally affected by the hate or how you cried because of it. Someone will say the vilest thing about him and some pjm or army will quote with something like "let's talk about how y'all are always hateful to someone like Jimin who's never hurt a soul" like just give the same energy to their fave or stfu, report and move on. Jimin doesn't come online to cry about being hated on, y'all are the ones making him vulnerable. Y'all show that the hate gets to you and you can't actually defend him and it automatically makes it seem like the hate affects Jimin and kpop Stans love it.
No one is going to see y'all's tweets about how Jimin is a good person who doesn't deserve hate and feel remorseful, it actually does the opposite because it makes them feel like they have some some kind of power.
Pjms don't even remember that jk got dragged a lot on local twtr because jjks made sure to ignore it and act like everyone loves him and he never gets any hate. But part of the reason why the hate Jimin gets is used against him is because pjms will never let you forget that he gets hated on. Hoping for sympathy and remorse from kpop stans only makes things worse. These people only respond to equal energy.

So this is inspired by a reply to one of your asks but what do you think each pairs of BTS will be doing if you lock them up in a room for an hour and left unsupervised.
Hello anon. There is way too many pairs in BTS for me to cover them all. So allow me to only do Jikook duos.
I will start with the duos I as Shaz deem to be the weakest, to strongest.
Okay JK's weakest duo which is also his weakest ship; If you've been around for a while you already know who I'm about to say 😂😂😂
Yoonkook.
(The tiktok on the post Here is how I feel about JK's ships. But I swap tkk for ynkk) So Yoonkook alone. Here i talk more about them after the Suchwita episode. But I will now also bring back the IG photos from the concert
Tumblr media
Spot the difference? 🤭🤭🤭🤭 and i will be a nice blogger and not bring up the fact that on day 3 while we were busy watching Suga's concert JK was on tiktok liking videos.
Tumblr media
Sorry anon..I crack myself up when I talk about Yoonkook but umm... yeah so. We already know what happens when u put them in a room together. They run out of things to talk about. We saw on Suchwita and we saw on Bon voyage by JK's own admission. When I see Yoonkook fanfic on twitter I get very confused 🤭🤭😂😂 because they don't click. Not really. If asked they will choose other members first. Definitely not eo. Yoonkook content with just them 2, I doubt they'd be very entertaining. Not without buffers may it be human or machine 😂
.
Finding Jimin's weakest duo is actually really hard because like RM said; Jimin is the king of chemistry and put him in a room with anyone and it will be funny and quality entertainment. But I will try.
Vmin.
I'm sorry but these 2 alone, together? Nah... Jimin may be the king of chemistry but even he can't fix the Vmin chemistry anymore. There was a time everything used to flow great between them but in recent years Vmin just ain't it. If u think I'm making this up go back to this live before JK comes in
Tumblr media
They kept running out of things to talk about too. Jimin even pretended to leave at one point. They were super awkward to say the least and I feel like they were both grateful for JK's presence. @magicshop-pjm1 likes to go "Vmin is dead" every 2 to 4 business days which is absolutely hilarious 😂😂😂 but I think anyone not in denial can admit while yeah, I'm sure they still care about eo, something somewhere went wonky and they're not the same anymore.
This tweet is a joke and its hilarious 🤣😂😂 but unfortunately i find it accurate. Them 2 alone aint it
Tumblr media
Taekook.
This was kinda obvious. Some people would rate this duo lower than Yoonkook but I think that's not fair. If you compare them with an unbiased eye Tkk are stronger than ynkk. First they are closer in age which helps. Meaning they're gonna be closer, too. But put them in a room together and it's not even awkward its nothingness. I'm talking silence. By JK's own admission here it just wasn't working. And we all remember the joint IG live where they ran out of things to talk about and JK would play with Bam instead. Another duo where JK needs a buffer for sure. I mean, sure tkk have been out and about but notice how its always with the Wooga squad? Never just them two?
On the plus side, they look really good. So, I'll give them that. 💚
Tumblr media
Minimoni
Again this is so hard because Jimin has very strong duos. But yeah, I will put RM second last because RM as a person (bless him and his dimples) he's not the most entertaining and has to bounce off of someone. Them together, alone won't be boring but I'm not sure it would be that memorable or mind blowing. These are just my personal opinions guys so feel free to disagree or chime in. But yeah. I feel Minimoni is 2nd last for me.
I do find it interesting how comfortable RM is with skinship when it comes to Jimin considering he's not big on that in general (unless its Jin) He's even the one who initiates so he is quite comfortable around Jimin.
Tumblr media
Anyway, they're a nice duo with a dynamic that gives you UWUs but they're not the most interesting in my eyes. Sorry Minimonis 🤷🏽‍♀️
Namkook
What's the most recent thing that we know about them? We know they hanged out after JK left Jennie's CK event. And we know before that JK said him and RM hadn't drunk together in years. Years. Not months. Now this dont mean they don't see eo. It just means they don't drink together often. I do find this to be significant however because both men love their liquor. But, they drink with other members just not eo so.... 😬😬 again, not making this up, its as per their own admissions
So Namkook in a room together 🤔 what do we got here guys? Have we ever had this? We had a Namkook live but the only memorable thing for me was them outing the fact that Jikook live together. I am blanking on Namkook which makes me feel confident about the position I've put RM.
Give it up for Jimin's type thou everybody 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Tumblr media
Jinmin
I would actually have Jinmin and Jihope as a tie but since I'm choosing I will rate Jinmin lower. But man. These 2 together are the absolute best. They are such a comedic entertaining duo. Them together alone in a room is worth every penny if we were asked to pay for any such footage 😂😂 they are funny and they bounce off of eo so well. Never a dull or awkward moment between Jin and Jimin. Never.
These two are the ones you throw to a team that's drowning. They are the ones u assign to a team for better views. I love them together fr fr. Best duo. Such a good duo. Honestly. Throw JK in there and you are set for life with the best trio ever. Go search for any of their compilations and I dare you to be bored.
And we haven't even began to talk about their visuals
Tumblr media
First photo of them that pops up on Google and... as it should. Most beautiful man alive Vs world wide handsome =perfection 💯💯💯
(Off topic BTS main visual was always Jin and then V was added to the visual line then eventually JK. Now dont get me wrong all of them are drop dead gorgeous but is there a reason Jimin isn't part of the visual line?? Anyway...)
Hopekook
Hopekook in a room together alone, I'd say that's solid entertainment right there. They're good together, they're funny. It's Jhope we're talking about. He rivals Jimin on having chemistry with the members so him and JK alone i think that's a solid video right there. No awkwardness or nothing and Bonus skinship for the Hopekookers. Good times, really.
JK is extremely comfortable with Jhope so yeah... they're a good duo. No one is getting bored.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yoonmin
Okay y'all. We know most Yoonmin supporters are rubbish vermin but don't let that make you forget that Yoonmin are extremely entertaining together. Put these 2 in a room alone together and come on... GOLD!! The Yoonmin Suchwita episode is hands down the funniest for me. I laughed from beginning to the end. Swear to God ✋🏽 that episode and the one with the drunk TXT members are great rewatches for me ngl. Also Jimin is Suga's favourite member so Suga is super comfortable with Jimin in everything. But my favorite part of them is the bickering of course.
They can't ever seem to stop fighting which is just so freaking entertaining. Remember ITS 1 when Jhope told Jimin he was being cocky so Jimin said he was going to look for Suga so that the guy could kill his cockiness? He said going to Suga would bring him back down to earth 😂🤣 Because this is who they are, its what they do. They insult eo and call eo out. So people who get mad at Suga need to watch a good old Yoonmin bickering compilation. They've called each other ugly, fat, stupid, skinny, and a bunch of other stuff some people seem to have forgotten.
Anywaaaaaay. Yoonmin alone together is quality content and that's why Suga is high on this list.
Tumblr media
Jinkook
Surely I don't need to explain why this duo is number 2 in terms of JK's most entertaining duos. Right? Like its self explanatory? I've stated many times; imo Jin is JK's favourite/closest after Jimin. Some of u disagree and say Jhope nah, its Jin. Imho.
Tom and Jerry, perfect title for them 2. Love it. Put them in a room together and you're set.
Tumblr media
chaotic thread here for those who need a refresher
Jihope aka Hopemin
We don't need to imagine. This duo have been alone together or engaged just them enough to know they are entertaining as shit. Its usually mostly Jhope laughing at Jimin's antics but this usually prompts Jimin into getting funnier with every laugh he gets from Jhope.
Tumblr media
Tweet
Much like Jinmin they are the duo you shove into a dying group to give it spice. They are absolutely epic and I feel confident putting Hobi on the number 2 spot of Jimin's most entertaining duos.
They do have awkward moments when they're checking eo out to try and out compliment eo but that's just entertaining as well 😂😂
Last but not least Jikook/Kookmin/Minkook/Mingukk
Now hear me out. This isn't just my bias that made me put this duo at the top. Alright? There is this ongoing unfairness taking place in the fandom where people undermine Jimin and JK's funny n chaotic sides.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tweet
Together they are hilarious and entertaining and this duo doesn't get enough credit for being as funny as they are.
The reason they are number one is because Jikook alone together is a complete programme. Humor, Check. Chaos, Check. Romance, Check. Sexual tension, Check.
Tumblr media
Hate or love this duo, they're a perfect recipe for entertainment.
Would love to hear your thoughts but this is how I'd rate them. Thanks for the ask anon, twas fun 💜

Interview with Sumiko Arai sensei!
June 22, 2022
Greetings, dear members of the green community! Today, we'll be translating a very old interview featuring Arai sensei from Get news! The article dates back to June 22, 2022. Be sure to join the Discord Server of The Guy She Was Interested in Wasn't A Guy At All for every latest updates!
[Interview starts from here! ― Original Link]
Tumblr media
The story of two girls sitting next to each other in class, spun by Sumiko Arai (@agu_knzm) who also created the manga "Nijiko to Yomeiri" featured in the special edition "Teran 2022" (KADOKAWA), is gaining significant attention on Twitter. It revolves around Mitsuki Koga, who lacks friends in class, and Aya Osawa, a lively and glamorous gal. They meet at Mitsuki's part-time job at a record store, where Aya becomes infatuated with Mitsuki, mistaking her for a boy due to her androgynous fashion and demeanor, without realizing she's a girl.
Here we introduce "It was supposed to be okay without friends." We asked Arai about the key points in continuing to depict these two characters.
Tumblr media
During her part-time job at her uncle's record store, Mitsuki answers a customer inquiry call. "Eh, you really don't know?", "I really don't know…" she responds.
As the customer hums a tune, Mitsuki reminisces about what happened earlier in class, thinking, "That was quite the topic, huh…"
Tumblr media
Mitsuki was dubbed as "Prince" by her classmates after they notice her prince-like concern for Aya, even though she's introverted. She blushes, thinking, "Looks like I've gained some attention," but also believes, "But it'll probably blow over in a week." Just as she begins to reminisce about the prospect of returning to normalcy, Aya's sudden arrival at the store interrupts her train of thought, just as she's about to say on the phone, "…Um, I might be able to help if you can't remember the band's name…"
Tumblr media
"Sorry, a customer came in…" Mitsuki explains as she ends the call. "…I'm sorry for cutting in on your call…" She apologizes, to which Aya responds, "Oh, no! It actually helped," and adds, "It seems like I only remember it as a 'popular song'… Well, things like that are easily forgotten, aren't they?" She smiles. Seeing this, Aya opens her mouth and says, "…Lately…"
Tumblr media
Mitsuki startles at those words... "There's this mysterious kid at school," with a surprised "Huh!?" However, Aya quickly clarifies, "Oh, it's nothing strange… I don't know, it's just…" before smiling and adding, "She sort of gives off "onii-san's" (Aya's referring to Mitsuki) vibe or something." Mitsuki then had this thought to herself, "Ah… she remembered."

Sumiko Arai explains that her two-panel manga, titled "Sorry, I thought you noticed, so I felt even more reluctant to approach you…," which was tweeted on July 30, 2021, serves as the initial depiction of Mitsuki and Aya. She states, "I wanted to explore the idea of what would happen if the person you liked, who you thought was far away, turned out to be right beside you." Arai expresses her love for pairing characters with contrasting personalities, saying, "That's why I aimed to create a pair who would unlikely interact under ordinary circumstances." Additionally, she mentions her love for Western music, finding the connection through music between characters appealing. "So, the story is packed with things that I personally 'like'," she concludes.
Tumblr media
This manga gives off a stylish impression, enhanced by its vivid green color palette. Many voices praise the coordination of the two characters' outfits as "lovely" and "cool."
Arai reveals, "Actually, they're wearing styles that I aspire to but can't quite pull off myself (laughs). When I receive comments like 'I want to imitate their fashion' in replies, I nod along while thinking, 'I get it, me too…'" She highlights points such as the overall loose-fitting style that conceals body lines, daring piercings, and hefty accessories, as well as T-shirts and hoodies featuring rock bands from previous eras and darker colors.
The manga receives acclaim for its unique sense of composition, with reactions pouring in, such as "I love handsome girls," "Aya is too cute," and "The interactions between the two are precious." Arai expresses her surprise and joy, saying, "I never imagined so many people would read my manga; it's one of the top three happiest moments of my life. It feels like surreal that so many people take the time to read it and even leave feedback."
Arai admits, "I'm not sure if the manga I'm creating falls under the category of 'yuri' as such," elaborating, "I'm more drawn to the theme of 'affection between women.' I've had times when I struggled with my sexuality, and I'm very happy that stories and characters born from such experiences can resonate with people of various sexual orientations, backgrounds, lifestyles, and professions." She concludes, "I would be overjoyed if people could continue to warmly watch over Mitsuki and Aya in the future." It's definitely worth keeping an eye for future developments.

Just out of curiosity what's wrong with zadkins!dimya? I never got to see the show at all (just bootlegs) so I don't know anything.
I do agree with the 1NT though. I have no idea what they were thinking with Lila Coogan. She pronounces every single thing she says the same way?
Tumblr media
anon you have no idea how much this ask delighted me. i'm in tears. i'm so so so excited this made my whole week.
first-- lila was only casted bc she knew lynn ahrens, i believe. this happened a lot with anastasia at the time unfortunately, when it came time to replace the principal cast they kept choosing people they knew or people who were already in the show instead of finding new talent. stephen (steven? i can't be bothered to remember) covered dmitry on broadway so they hired him as principal dima on tour and that was such a waste too tbh 💀 other than a few delightful people here and there, 1nt was such a bland and forgettable cast to me. 2nt superiority <333
now. for zadkins. a couple years ago i would've answered this privately bc his stans would've eaten me alive, but it appears no one left here cares for him anymore anyway ashdljfdjk so!!! i'm gonna be mean. so sorry. or not sorry. i don't really care anymore lol.
man. another bad case of promoting someone mediocre instead of hiring and training someone new. he always kind of gave me an ick, like on a Regular Person level, but for now let's focus on his performance:
the man cannot sing. he yells. he cannot act. he yells! i'm like not an expert or anything on either but i know a bad singer when i hear one lol. there's a moment in my petersburg where he growls? yuck. he and christy, as talented as she is, had no chemistry. not even like compared to christy and derek (which was like ~Magical Chemistry~), they just had zero chemistry period. even off stage their interactions felt weird and forced. i think he tried too hard to be Different™ from derek that he ended up playing dmitry wildly off book. i mean, you Should come with a new and fresh take on the character, that's fair. but he was almost playing a completely unrecognizable character altogether. (the glebya stans love his dmitry for a reason)
and then he kept thowing little fits off stage-- he got a tattoo when he wasn't supposed to, complained about being compared to derek, etc. he was kind of strange with christy sometimes. on one of her live streams during playtime (the 15 minute stretch between crossing a bridge and iacot, where she would invite the little girls and other folks off stage to hang out in her dressing room) he said he saw her in spring awakening, a show with some nudity, and she was clearly uncomfortable by the way he said it. he was also weird online, there was one instance where a teenage girl tweeted and asked him to come to her birthday party and he?? showed up????? he was also dating ashley park at the time and i think the breakup was messy 💀
his stans were awful. i know it's not his fault, but god. they were so loud, constantly complaining about derek for some reason? a man who minds his own business??? bc the only way you can support your fave is by hating everyone else on main?? the infighting was insane. you had to be there.
and oh man. when they announced cody simpson was replacing him.... it got so much worse. they were tearing that little blond australian man (who can actually sing and act, mind you) to shreds. every review was scathing when the show needed a boost. zach threw a fit about it too, because his contract was ending early (i mean. the show was actively losing money because he was so terrible. so yeah of course they're gonna replace him with a stunt cast ashdljfk) and you compare that and his stans to derek and derek stans just quietly mourning his exit and enduring but otherwise minding our business.... yeah. the only anastasia obc member with a bad attitude fr
so you pair that (the Yikes that is zadkins!dima) with max von essen's gleb (as much as i loved him he was also a miscast, i believe he's said the same) both yelling at anya the whole time with the mediocre 1nt cast,,,, of course you have people walking away from the show going 'so,,, what the hell was that. i could've just watched the movie.'
this is just speculation but i truly believe if i had to pinpoint an origin as to why the show isn't open anymore i would say principal zadkins at such a crucial time was their downfall. the second year is so important to get people to come back and to get new audience members at the same time and they botched it. instead of bringing in new talent they just stuck with mediocre people who already knew the tracks. the show had all the ingredients for being the next wicked, but damn. casting for anya, dmitry, and gleb are so important. you really need people who Get It to portray them, and if you have one weak link the whole show falls flat. and for several months, before cody was brought on and before constantine returned to play principal gleb, christy altomare was carrying the whole thing on her little shoulders.
and THEN you have the whole year two Red Dress marketing campaign, which misinterpretted the show So Badly as ~just another princess show~ to compete with frozen across the street... yeah of course it tanked. but that's another topic.
so! in conclusion........,,, summer-winter 2018 was a dark time for fanastasias ashldkjfjk we were in the Trenches
i would also like to let the record show the fact that we got masters who returned Twice in the same month to film derek/obc in september 2017, which are the bootlegs that are probably the most circulated other than hartford, and returned again in january 2019 to film cody and constantine, and returned AGAIN for closing in march. two whole bootlegs of my guy cody simpson and uhhhh zero for zadkins <3 as god intended <3
this isn't even half of it but this is what i remember from The Dark Time. anyone else is welcome to chime in, this is a safe space to be a hashtag hater <3

The Unsympathetic Rob Thomas (Trigger Warning: Suicide)
(plus how Ryan Hansen learned from Rob Thomas' unsympathetic ways)
And no, I'm not talking about how he made Veronica Mars. It was about Party Down, its history, and his apathy-ness when creating the show with his friends.
Based on his own interview about Party Down, Rob Thomas was asked the reason why he made Party Down: The show was a collaboration between him, John Enbom, Dan Etheridge, and Paul Rudd; friends who wanted to make a comedy series based on the experience they had in Hollywood.
He went to this party in Hollywood and struck up a conversation with one of the waiters or a bartender. While his friends were sometimes listening to the bartender telling the story of how he ended up in Hollywood, Rob was listening intently. The guy told him that he was a small-time actor, who was basically a glorified extra. The more he told the story, the more unhinged he became. He admitted that he got depressed after a string of failures. And he had to take a catering job to support his life. In the middle of the story, he cried as he poured his heart out about his failed life and even one-time considers suicide.
As the bartender practically sobbed while telling the story, Rob awkwardly left him.
And this part made me cold in my heart when he returned to his friends - he LAUGHED telling this story about a failed actor who was so depressed that he almost committed suicide. He then told John that this might be a really good basis for a tv show. "How about we make a comedy series about a bunch of losers who work in a catering business, and no matter how hard they try, they will never succeed?"
John thought it was a good idea and was ready to recruit his friend, actor Paul Rudd to be a part of the creators of the show. When the interviewer asked Rob what happened to the waiter/bartender, Rob just shrugged and answered, "I hope he didn't kill himself." As I read that interview (I'm sorry I can't provide the interview link because I don't remember where I read it and it was a very long time ago, almost 12 years or so) I was so sick to find out that Rob nonchalantly telling this story. The amount of apathy from this man, telling a story about a suicidal man, laughing about it, and thinking it would make a good COMEDY series...
Tumblr media
Look, you can get inspiration from anywhere. Sometimes you'd get it from the darkest place of humanity, and it's legit. But... the way Rob was telling the story like it was no big deal, and the lack of empathy radiating from Rob, made my skin crawl. And the fact this is a true story, not a rumor created by some blogger, but a legit interview from an official magazine, made me shake my head.
And the ironic thing is that when Brad Bufanda died of suicide, Rob actually tweeted his condolences. But it felt... how do I say it... empty? It was like he had to do it because his death was Trending on Twitter, and many casts tweeted their condolences, especially Francis Capra and Julie Gonzalo. Francis was a friend of Brad's family, so he reached out to his mother. Julie was his co-star in Cinderella Story. But Rob (and KBell) didn't say anything until everyone sorta tagged them about his death. Btw, KBell never tweeted anything.
Brad Bufanda's mother reached out to me on this blog, and I felt gutted that the show meant something to him and his family. I still remember when Brad and I DM'd a few times a few years before his suicide. He was DEPRESSED. Apparently, after Veronica Mars, he didn't have a steady job. He got rejected so many times whenever he went to casting calls. He even said "The fans don't care. They don't care about me." I was so confused about how to answer that, but I tried my best to encourage him that the fans did care about him. Anyway, he deleted his Twitter account and I didn't know how to reach him until I heard about his suicide.
So... to have Rob making fun of a depressed person who was suicidal and at the same time tweeting about someone he knew who committed suicide is making me nauseous.
Another story about Party Down was coming from Ryan Hansen who was also one of the cast of the show. It wasn't an interview per se, but more like a tidbit behind the scene regarding one of the episodes.
There was an episode (I forgot the title), but if you watched the show, you know which one I'm talking about. It was about the orgy episode where the Party Down caterers served them, and the interviewer asked the cast about how the episode was made; the technicality of it, the guest stars, how they filmed it, etc etc.
Ryan, jokingly, talked about how there were so many nude extras, and some of them were beautiful girls. And as they were hanging around, Ryan struck up a conversation with a bunch of naked girls. He was making small talk and trying to make everything fun because apparently, directing a bunch of naked people doing sex wasn't easy.
Ryan, then, ASKED WHETHER HE COULD TOUCH THE BOOBS. The girls at first were reluctant, but one of the girls let him touch and fondled the boobs. Some of them were laughing like it was nothing because most of them were okay doing that. It was a bizarre situation but nothing new in Hollywood. It wasn't until Ryan fondled another boob from a different girl, the girl burst into tears.
The nude girl said she had no choice doing this type of role. She was a small-time actress and had to accept this kind of role to support her life and school. Ryan, while telling the story, mocked her cry. He mimicked her sobbing and cry "Booohoooo hoooo!" and he had no choice but to stop fondling her boob. He laughed and made a comment that if she didn't want to be there, then she should just leave and find another career.
Now, I don't care whether you agree or disagree with someone's career choice, whether it's a sex worker, nude artist, an extra, or whatever. I do care whether you are dick or not (pun intended), and actually be a human being that shows empathy or something.
The interviews were after Party Down had already been canceled at the time, and I already watched the show and didn't think about the complication behind the scenes. But I lost all respect for both Rob Thomas and Ryan Hansen back then. And I have to admit, I had a myopic POV regarding them when they announced the Veronica Mars movie and their interviews were forgotten by me. It wasn't until recently that those memories came back to me, and I regret having ever supported them and even have a blind spot regarding them. That is why I changed the Rob Thomas Book Club to BLIND RATS.
My point is... jebus, it's not hard to be kind to strangers who poured their hearts out. Don't be an asshole and laugh when someone said that they have a problem.
“when someone shows you who they are, believe them”
Note: No, this is NOT the interview I was talking about. This is a new interview, in which Rob is adamant that Party Down is not based on a true story, very different from the old interview that now I can't find the link. Feel free to believe which version, but I do still remember his original story.

WAIT ALSO 'my name is John Silver. and i've got a Long Fucking Memory.' INSANE acting also idk if this is really technically 'top five scenes' worthy but uknow that line where flints like 'where else would you wake up in the morning and matter?' @ silver??? yeah it ingrained itself into my brain and now whenever my brains having a bad day and being a bitch, it just repeats that line over and over to myself. again i dont know if that makes it a top five thing but boy oh bOY it sure made an impact !
iasip mac finds his pride when mac does the dance and franks crying and is like 'i get it. i get it now.' maybe its cos i feel like there is just a 00.01% chance of my parents ever accepting me and im projecting or whatever but that scene? every fucking time im like........ crying lol

that scene in breaking bad where jesses in hospital after hank beats the shit outta him in the rv and walt visits him in hospital and jesse has that breakdown in 3.07? jesse pinkman crying in a hospital bed bruised and beaten saying 'i am not turning down the money, i am turning down you.' when he's yelling 'i have NOTHING. "How I wanted to be a writer my entire life until Glee fandom literally just crushed it right out of me" OK except you were one of the most popular writers in Glee ficdom so how did that 'crush' anything? I'm sorry if this seems rude but your tweet seems rude when so many of us supported you and your writing.
oh god ok. first off, i am very sorry if the tweet caused any offense - that was certainly not my intention at all. but i need you to understand that the situation at the end of my time as neaf in Glee fandom was an iceberg; you only saw the very top peak, and there was a veritable fuckload of traumatic shit going on underneath.
let me explain properly, at last, why i left
let me say first and foremost that i am still overwhelmingly grateful for the support and kindness that thousands of people in Glee fandom showed me. for the response to my writing, the support for the blog itself, and for the wonderful interactions on this site day in and day out that made those some of the best days of my life
that said, when you have a blog like that, one that grows rapidly in popularity, you do get - as I did - an array of responses that vary from unsettling (people wanting your advice, people coming to you for help), to upsetting (people despising you for your undeserved popularity), to downright frightening (people trying to find your real name and home address, people building shrines to you, and no i'm not joking on that last one)
the main reason i started the blog was to get my writing out there, that's why the blog began, but it became such a huge part of my life due to the popularity of it that i spent the vast majority of my days on it answering messages and interacting with everyone. my entire world became the blog, and it had a deeply negative impact on my real life relationships - which was one reason why i left
another big reason why was the volume of asks i would get about people's trauma, none of them with any warnings, or asks begging me for help or exposure. they were ceaseless, and exhausting, and after years of it i was struggling to cope
and then there was the drama, or the rest of the iceberg, so to speak - the real, main reason i left
essentially, in the early days of the blog i was happily oblivious to a growing discontent with my presence in fandom. other writers and big names (BNFs or 'big name fans' i believe was the term, oof) in the fandom had slowly become angry that i was getting so much undeserved attention for my blog and my fics, and while i still to this day don't know why they hated me so damn much, that hate was very real and it grew rapidly. vagueposting began about me being full of myself, about how little i deserved what i was getting, about how unfair it was that people liked my work when my writing was so bad. eventually, my attention was brought to it by a friend who was also a friend of theirs, and i remember that night so well - the night i discovered how deeply these people who didn't even know me absolutely loathed me, and how many of them there were
after a lot of crying and weighing options, i decided to ignore it, and leave them be. our spheres rarely crossed anyway, why engage and potentially make it worse? but ignoring it didn't help, as with all hate it begged for attention, and it continued to spread to places where it became far more visible - like my ask box
then the stories started.
on anonymous Glee hate-gossip groups on livejournal and dreamwidth, they went in and made up tales about things i'd never actually done - the nastier details of which i will leave out, but suffice it to say i was painted as a self-serving, self-obsessed bitch who used her followers to ostracize other writers, and far worse. i was suddenly Cassandra Claire 2.0., but in my case, it was as horrifying as it was fictional, and it left me helpless to defend myself without giving it more attention despite the fact that i could prove none of it was true
i felt broken at that point already, but then came the doxxing, and the fallout
during my time on the blog i'd made quite a few close friends with other very popular bloggers, some of whom were adored by fandom and some of whom were... well, very much not. but they were my friends and i stuck by them, even when they did things i didn't necessarily agree with
now, a very dear friend of mine who wasn't a huge 'bnf' had written a fic based around a fairly uncommon AU that had barely been done before in the fandom. it was a wonderful fic, and wasn't getting the attention it deserved (in my opinion), but i reblogged it whenever i could to draw attention to it. not long after it became popular, another close friend - one with a bigger blog and a vast array of followers - decided to write a very similar story right down to the AU type. when i mentioned in passing that it was very similar to the first fic that was going around and did they intend that, they got very angry with me, yelled at me for insinuating that they were copying someone else, and the friendship quickly imploded after that in a messy, ugly kind of way, taking other friends out with it
when i say it got ugly, i mean that this person was the kind of person vagueblogging and vindictiveness was invented for. i also learned the hard way thought the fallout that this 'friend' was actually one of the people who had been going and posting things about me that weren't true, just to drum up hatred for the neaf blog and to knock me down a peg
then, out of nowhere, someone started leaving my real name in my inbox. i was horrified and frightened, and used an old trick to try and track the IP address of the anonymous sender. it turned out to be, once again, that friend's location
in the wake of all of that, feeling absolutely gutted and betrayed by one of my closest friends, feeling overwhelmed by begging strangers, and spending too much time on the gleeme dreamwidth reading about what a disgusting and worthless person i was and how my writing was such a joke -- i fell to pieces, and stopped functioning for a few days
finally, after i got myself back together, i realised what i had to do. ending my time in the Glee fandom was largely done for my mental health - but the biggest step in that was stopping writing altogether. even now, the idea of writing makes me sick to my stomach. i will never regret the fics i wrote, i know how much joy they did bring to a lot of people, and i will forever be grateful for those who read them and continue to read them on ao3. there are people across the world with my words tattooed on their bodies, in my handwriting. there are people all over who still remember me fondly, and that brings me a great deal of peace and comfort
but i cannot forget the hate, or the cruelty, that these people flung at a complete stranger on the internet just because it was fun for them to do so. when i say my writing was crushed out of me, it has nothing to do with my gratitude, please believe that. it's just that it literally was.

Guys I love and miss Gojo so much. I'll be having a good day and remember that he is in fact gone. Also I can't remember where I heard this, but I remember someone saying there was an official tweet or like statement, where they said that Gojo might come back but in a way we won't like. So now I'm sitting here making theories? Idek if its true, but if it gives me a thing to do so here I am. I don't my little Sukuna to die either, but if Choso dies to him Istg. I might start treating him the same way I did with Mahito when he killed Junpei (Rip Junpei, gone WAY too soon. Still grieving because he was a good character, and he didn't deserve what he went through. Like this poor kid trusted Mahito, and they literally ENDED off his mom, but Junpei had to find out personally. Then manipulated him into "getting revenge" on someone who didn't do it. ONLY TO HAVE HIS SOUL MANIPULATED TO BREAK DOWN YUUJI? The pain I felt at Junpeis "help me" was so immense. Sometimes I hope he'll come back, he had the WORST of it istg 😭 Bullied? Watching his mother die? Manipulated by a gross ass cursed spirit? Then dying in front of his only good friend?? It's actually insane. Ily Junpei </3, I miss him sm. Cause he honestly was a good character.. 😕
Anyways, what I'm saying is, it'll be different if Choso perished than when Gojo died. Just because Gojo was a really OP character, and it was necessary for Yuujis character, he needs to be the one to end off Sukuna, cause like yk? Sukuna caused him so much torment, lmaoo (it isn't funny but I'll preten). Like ig it would be necessary for Choso too, but it's just.. I mean he kind of JUST started to become a part in the actual story. So it'll be too tragic, and I'll sob, then never return to Jjk ever again. 😕
I'd also sob if and when Sukuna died too, because I grow a fondness of everyone. (I miss you Nanami.), I also grew a fondness of Toji. Which I didn't think I'd do when I first got into Jjk, but he redeemed himself with Megumi. I mean.. Sorta? Idk I just defend all the characters atp. Besides Mahito, he needed to fucking go. 😭 His wails are still in my head, as a reminder that he can't hurt anymore mfs. (I'm still HEAVILY grieving Nanami.) Anyways, sorry for the 2nd rant 😔
-👽 (Ignore this baesy)
i get so many like gojo theories on how he will come back on my twitter and ngl??? SOME OF THEM COOKED LIKE OKAYYYY WHY DOES IT MAKE SM SENSE???? but then i rmbr gege doesnt care that much LMFOAOAOAOAO gege wants this manga OVER WITH!!!!
sukuna can go do a backflip off a cliff for all i care fr. choso dies and i’m deleting my whole tumblr if i can’t be happy no one can.
nah cause junpei’s death was crazy not even bc of what u said but bc of how they make his ass look so important and integrated into yuji’s friend group ONLY FOR HIM TO DIE LIKE THAT LIKE OMG THATS SO SICK???? STOP PLAYING WITH ME
toji is just sexy idk that’s his only appeal to me like okayyyyy dilfff😍😍😍😍🤞🤞🤞🤞 stares at my toji oneshot idea….
ANYWAY STOP APOLOGIZING FOR UR RANTS THEY R ENTERTAINING 🫶🫶🫶🫶

I’m the one that sent in the ask pointing out sam and that girl had gone to the zoo, because at the time I genuinely did find it funny (still kind of do) that sam and colby were being so MESSY in such a public way.
Now, after realizing it was him and kats first date spot (and I do remember that now)…I’m so mad at him lmao. Like not actually but that’s just such a crappy thing to do. Especially where she’s gonna see it and has been tweeting about being so heartbroken. My heart just breaks for her. LA is a big city, he could’ve gone anywhere else. I used to hope they’d get back together but now I feel like she deserves better lol. I guess just a good reminder that men are trash even if it’s someone you love.
yeah i didn't know that was their first date spot. i knew they went there are some point, but i didn't think that's where he took her.
first off, weird spot to take someone on a first date anyway. and secondly, using that spot, AGAIN, with someone else??? super duper tacky and tasteless. sorry my guy, but there's no changing that.
and i feel bad for kat as well. she has gotten a lot of hate from fans ever since breaking up with sam, and it is completely unwarranted for so many reasons. she got so much flack for stupid boy and bs, but she had every. right. to make those songs.
and god knows when she eventually moves on, she's gonna get hate and get called a slut or some bullshit, while sam's off on his fifth fling or whatever.
and look, there is nothing wrong with either one of them moving on or having flings or doing whatever they want with their lives. that's their choices to make. but there's a difference between "i'm moving on from this relationship now" vs "i'm just gonna pretend you don't exist/pretend we never had a thing in the first place". bc that's what's kinda happening.
and this isn't even the first time sam is doing shit like this either. he literally said in an email for dumbandwise about how "breaking up with my girlfriend allowed me to really find myself and my confidence."
now, i can understand that maybe things became stagnant in their relationship, they both became stunted, and once they separated from one another he was able to build himself up again after feeling low. i get it to some degree. but maybe, crazy concept, don't tell FANS this.
idk, certain things should just stay private. and maybe this was one of those times.

Loved OT7 from the very beginning, and still love them all even after all these years, where I have changed from my teenage pimple-crazy era to a hopefully mature, and thankfully pimple-free adult! Sorry for rambling, but it's just I gotta get this outta my system.....
At the start, I was so sure Jimin and Yoongi had some sort of mutual crush on each other, but then along the way Yoongi like the tsundere he is, he pulled back and for whatever reason distanced himself from Jimin in a way although subtle was actually quite noticeable. And then it was so obvious in the way Jungkook started leaning towards Jimin, I could swear he had some sort of gigantic crush on him. Honestly, I still believe he does! Though I don't know if it's unrequited or not. And from then on Jikook just made sense to me, it was/ is so cute and adorable to watch them figuring out what they like, finding hobbies, and hanging out together just with each other, even in a group. But somehow, and I have no receipts, no tweets, no quotes to back myself up but just watching them as a simple audience for all these years who enjoys their songs, their entertainment, and even enjoys ALL the BTS ships, I feel between Yoongi and Jungkook, Jimin actually has a spot of something for Suga... I can't fathom what, whether romantic or not, but somewhere it feels like Jimin just doesn't know what he wants from Yoongi, unlike where I feel he is very sure of what he wants from Jungkook and even the others too. ( And I swear I'm not inspired by a k-drama love triangle or anything!! ) I don't know... just Jimin and Yoongi sometimes give the vibe that whatever it between them it's kind of deeper, and this has especially been surfacing I feel, since the night at Grammys where Jimin said sitting beside Yoongi hyung made him relax more. Like Jimin knows Yoongi cares, just like the others, but Jimin also knows Yoongi perhaps cares just a little more. And at the same time he knows too, that, unlike Jungkook who wears his heart on his sleeve, Yoongi will never make a move, let alone even look him in the eye... And it's just fascinating how Jimin because of probably this very reason tries to get a reaction out of him at every turn and Yoongi gladly allows it, because distractions are like the biggest blessings to him, and thus their bickerings always feel like a prelude to something softer, warmer, and just like home....
But I don't know, at the end of the day it might all be in my brain!!
Pfew anon, that was a story!
You seem nice and I appreciate your wording, without trying to insinuate toxic theories or invalidating what Jimin has in relation to other members. And you are totally allowed to believe what you want. You don't come across as some obsessed shipper not open to conversation. That's nice and quite rare. Now, as to your theory, that's something I don't subscribe to. Remember, I'm only stating my opinion and how I personally view other people's behavior, which is not a fact or me being the only one who is right. But you came to me and presented all this, so I'm going to give you my take.
What you see in Jimin's behavior towards Yoongi and given their personalities, I see Jimin capable of being in tune with other people's feelings and personalities and knowing how to navigate that. It's no wonder he's the most emotionally intelligent in the group. And because of that, he knows when Yoongi needs something but won't say, he knows when to push a button because Yoongi will play along. And this technique can be seen in the relationship Jimin has with each member. I mean, it's a gift that not many possess.
What I'm trying to say is, and this is a point that I've probably made in the past and it's basically how I see the shipping discourse in general, is that a group cannot thrive or survive if there are lingering feelings, love triangles, whatever taekook theories are out there, you name it. Basically drama or potential for personal drama.
There are so many reasons why a group can disband which are usually more common, like creative differences, envy, personal ambitions, money, etc. Those to me are much more realistic and if they existed or still do, it seems that BTS learned how to deal with that together.
As to personal relationships within the band, if feelings between the members exist, they will come to the surface at one point and in one shape or another. It can have a positive outcome or a negative one. Add a potential third person into the mix and that's a recipe for disaster. Which is why I personally completely reject any shipping theories that involve being jealous of other members because of some gaze exchange, or being close to one now and the next month that person is seen as only being close to another, hence conflict and X supposedly hating Y. If any of that were remotely true and happening on a daily basis for years now, BTS wouldn't be a group anymore because the personal would affect their career. Inner band conflicts leads to disbandment, more often than not and it's visible in their behavior. Watch Beatles in 1969 while recording and you'll see exactly what I'm talking about. From what I can see and tell, BTS as a group seems to be completely fine, which wouldn't be possible if there was still ambiguity in their interpersonal relationships.

Hey, this is the first time I'm hearing about the Jack Black autism speaks thing & from what little I can find it's like 2 tweets from years ago & nothing more idk if I'm missing something but I can't really find anything substantial, do you happen to know where I could find more info/know more about the situation?
I actually didn't know there were tweets, all I remember was him being in that charity drive Mark Robber had that was benefiting autism speaks. There was a pretty big outcry about the whole drive online and a handful of people taking part backed out, so I guess everyone just assumed he would have heard about the backlash and left too, and since he didn't he supports it?
To be fair that does assume a LOT. Its entirely possible Jack Black just didn't know about the issues or wasn't online for the backlash, the people I do know who backed out were like, popular youtubers and streamers and stuff(Rhett and Link most notably), so people who would have likely seen everything firsthand, meanwhile I know a lot of really famous people don't even run their own twitter accounts and tend to be in like...their own bubble?
Also, I think some of the leading voices in that outcry had some kind of drama, I remember the whole movement being really loud at first and then kinda imploding and vanishing just about overnight, so maybe it just didn't get out there enough or wasn't a thing long enough for it to reach the more famous guests? But that also assumes a lot.
I guess the actual nuanced take is(unless there is some damming evidence I'm missing) until he openly addresses it himself we can't really say for sure? He might know about all the issues and not care or not agree, or he might be like a lot of people who really want to support autistic people and just don't know that the largest, most well-known "charity" is awful and was simply agreeing to do a charity drive which like, tons of celebs agree to do stuff like that all the time with good intentions so...?
But yeah, that's the extent of my knowledge on the topic. Sorry, I probably should have offered some sources before repeating the whole thing, I was just rapid-fire answering asks and didn't think as hard about it as I should have. I'll do some digging myself and if anyone else has some info they'd like to add on feel free!

thank you for sharing your experience!! it's so nice that he takes the effort to tweak the script a bit depending on where he is, despite some jokes not landing lmao but thank you for the effort dan. i do feel he thrives off the energy of the crowd so he loves it when the audience engages and reacts a lot (in parts that need that reaction). can't wait to see how it'll be different in berlin. also it's sweet that aside from meeting him a big part of why people go to wad is to see friends and the community and being in the same space enjoying the same thing and reacting with and to dan. and i think dan loves seeing that as well. i love living vicariously through you guys as someone who lives in a country that dan won't tour in :( but it's nice to read different experiences and how dan is such a sweetheart in meet and greets and how he really enjoys performing.
i'm so sorry you can't go :( it's a great experience!
i hope Dan understands what kind of people he gathered around himself 😂 we share some opinions and we're willing to listen to each other. yesterday that was such a pleasantly unexpected discovery. you know it's easier to discuss some things online than irl, like political and social systems, sexuality and etc, but we were discussing it after the show and it felt safe to do so. and these conversations will stay with some people for a long time. it's kinda beautiful, we're in the same boat and Dan and Phil are just slightly directing us by planting seeds of major topics in your heads. and then we're free to make research, share our experience and help one another understand something if needed. even when someone leaves the phandom they don't leave it empty-headed. you can obviously outgrow that kind of relationship and find something similar in real life, so you don't need some British white guys to guide your ways. but i bet they still remember what kind of messages those two were trying to convey to them and the world in general. i'm not saying that dnp's opinions and views are always 100% right. hell nah! but sometimes starting a conversation is more important than arguing your rightness. we can joke about it for as long as we want but they really raised us in a way. just like school and your neighbourhood is raising you as well, directly or indirectly.
i think Dan underestimates his power and influence. or likes to think that he's not as powerful as he actually is because then the damage is lesser. he's scared of being wrong and it prevents him from doing the right things immediately. Ukraine was a good example of it, because even if he waited he still fucked up with that tweet. so i get where the fear is coming from and each mistake bites his ass. he is more careful with it now but he still likes to think that he can't do anything. (i'm bringing up Ukraine because he brought it up yesterday. and i'm glad that he keeps doing it. and by doing it he contradicts himself because talking about this war is doing something. it's not over, missiles are falling on cities and killing people, Ukraine loses its towns, gets some towns back – it's happening every day. i just hope that at least 1 person goes home after Dan's show, opens google, updates themselves on the war and shares it within their circle. forgetting is a scary thing, it's like erasing history, only now we're erasing the present).
anyway, can't wait to compare it to Berlin.

hi ok so u don’t gotta post or respond if it makes u uncomfortable or weird or anything like that but ig I just kinda felt like I gotta rant and get this out there bc idk what to do :( I have been feeling v insecure on how I look and I’m not a super confident person in general but just feeling more down abt myself lately ig, like I try hard not to compare myself to others but when i see people post or people just around me who are prettier it gets hard to not wish that I could be like that u know? idk I try to own my uniqueness in my looks but it’s hard :(
I'm very sorry you feel that way, dear. I know you most probably know that, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and the beauty standards in our society are awful and tbh unattainable - especially now when there's a filter for everything; doesn't make it easier to love oneself.
I could tell you about all the things we all know and yet don't feel (beauty comes from within - it IS true; albeit it doesn't change what we see in the mirror. It would be a beautiful world if mirrors could show us what lies within).
But I promise you that there is at least one person who finds you beautiful yet sadly never dared to tell you. Strangers you meet who look at you and think "she/he/they has/have beautiful eyes" - or the most amazing smile, or a stunning style, or gorgeous hair. They just never tell you, but I promise promise promise that it happens, and more often than you might think.
Self-love is such a difficult thing to ever learn, but I once saw a post or tweet, I can't even remember where but it helped me - if you can't love yourself, start accepting yourself. Pick out the details you like about yourself and focus on them. Think about how much you like feature x instead of disliking feature y.
And I know this isn't about Eddie or Joe Quinn, but it's a very good example: when the new characters for ST4 were announced, there was an absolute shitstorm towards Joe, with so many people calling him ugly. And now Joe is the new tumblr sexyman. What changed? He still looks like he always has. Yet there are legions of people falling at his feet now. It might be Eddie's magic but I doubt that because in the end, Eddie still looks like Joe as well. So...personality. Sounds super cheesy but something had to have changed because a lot of people who found him ugly before now think he's the prettiest man alive - no matter whether they fell for Eddie or for Joe or both.
I'm telling you this because my psychology degree taught me that, yes, first impressions are mostly determined by outer appearance; but LASTING impressions, those which actually determine whether we find a person beautiful or not, those are determined by character and personality and kindness above all else. (Believe me, there are about thirty studies I needed to know by heart for the social psychology assignment that made three months of my life living hell so I will. Never. Ever. Forget. The Facts.) So beauty does come from within, says science. Maybe it helps to remember these things whenever you feel like this 🖤

Repost: Ask on ARMY Fandom Feeling Like a Cult & Cringey Comments on YouTube
Anonymous: Hi! I have kinda weird ask. Now that we are all waiting for a new album, I started seeing posts like: Remember, if... Or: if you don't like something, here's the explanation why (because you are stupid and probably baby ARMY), or: don't you dare be mad if some of the guys get lines and some don't, there's a reason for it (again explicit explanation). My question is this: do you know who are those posts referred to? Lol And the second thing. Every BTS video, MV and bomb has this comment: (I kid you not. Every.) Let's agree that Namjoon, Seokjin etc. are angels. Is this a BTS bot? I just have this feeling sometimes that once you get courage to engage with the fandom, it's like joining a Church of Living Hope (sorry, Hobi). Where is this desire to make them angels, bunnies, saints, tigers etc. come from?
**
Hi anon, (this will be long-form so please grab a seat :))
No worries about this being a weird ask. I appreciate you took the time to ask it rather than leave your (and my) assumptions unexamined. Your ask is split into two things: (1) who are those posts about line distribution etc for and why do ARMYs emphasize certain things during comeback season? (2) Where is this desire to make them angels, bunnies, saints, tigers etc. come from?
I’ll start with (2). I’ve seen those comments and I roll my eyes right along with you. I think it’s important to understand the fanbase is huge. It’s ridiculously big and includes fans from every country on earth including Antarctica (we know because we’ve surveyed this several times and it shows up in real time trends during Vlives and concerts).
A notable chunk of the fandom comprises of children, think ages 14 and below, from countries where English isn’t the 1st language. Children tend to describe their idols primarily that way: angels, bunnies, etc, and they’re the demographic that tends to spam those comments under YouTube videos imo. It’s also the quickest way to get likes on your comments from other teens or young fans who agree with it. It’s also really harmless fun most of the time and I do it too when Jungkook is being cute. I don’t see it as anything nefarious or all that weird. It’s just young fans expressing their love/appreciation and people liking it. You’ll also sometimes find comments asking good questions or actually referring to what’s in the video, but yeah I agree it’s mostly just the types you described.
It’s also true there are people who look up to the members as perfect beings who can do no wrong. Some people do in fact worship the boys and the ground they walk on, and this could be reflected in viewing them as angels or infallible. Although this isn’t all that uncommon in k-pop, these fans would exhibit other very problematic behavior and in my experience, it almost always results in them becoming akgaes. Most ARMYs have more nuanced views of the members I think, but often emphasize the positive because of antis who hyper-fixate on perceived negative qualities or engage in character assassination as a hobby or in favor of who they prefer in a group (or compared against another group/idol). Nobody is 100% saint or from any other species other than human, but at the same time, there’s hardly need to overly emphasize negative qualities of artists who you don’t know based on your perceptions, whose only relation to you is through their idol personas of which you may or may not be a fan.
For your 1st question, I’ve briefly mentioned some ideas common to OT7 ARMYs here and here. Nothing in k-pop is ever really balanced. Things tend to swing from one extreme to the other for even the most mundane things, and this is both indicative of modern internet culture (such as the studied increase in defensive language while online - where people preemptively predict criticisms to their speech and include qualifiers in their tweets and facebook posts, or qualify things with their identity, i.e. As a black person…); and the hyper-competitive nature of k-pop spaces which breeds people like antis, mantis, shippers, etc. And this is before considering the insane entitlement characteristic of k-pop fans. For example, I had an ask a couple of days ago that was so opposed to BTS being invited to present at the UN where they spoke about touring, that common sense explanations seemed like an unreasonable affront. Of course BTS being invited and speaking to their experiences is something some fan might not like, but that opinion is not the only one in the room nor the opinion that’s even relevant in this scenario given it was entirely at the UN’s request and to their pleasure that BTS was present and their comments applauded. The internal motivations and the entire process was known only to the federal government, the United Nations - the people involved. Also BTS were not the first celebrity ambassador to speak to their experiences in a speech or other remarks, yet a random k-pop fan was offended enough to want an explanation. This is also very indicative of the peculiar entitlement k-pop fans exhibit consistently.
Basically, when something as innocuous as a music album is released, you can expect people will be offended by the content and will feel emboldened to table a list of demands to the artist. This happens literally every comeback lol. One group of fans (usually solo stans) will be dissatisfied at how many seconds they can hear their bias on a song, people will have complaints about the music videos, there will be a campaign to boycott the artist and demand apologies for perceived slights to this or that member or because of this or that song. This sometimes happens with other groups as well, but ARMYs are so big that in this case, it will have outsized impacts. And it’s literally the same sets of complaints each time, complaints the members themselves have repeatedly addressed in interviews, documentaries, etc, explaining their process and reasoning, over and over.
I think it’s okay to be dissatisfied with a song or a music direction. For example I could barely stand Butter & PTD, but I know BTS explores dramatically different genres every 2-3 years, and so I enjoyed the songs when I wanted to, and I’m now waiting for their new release. This new album might include English songs or bubble-gum pop music, but based on how they switch genres in each era, I understand it’s unlikely to be exactly like Dynamite + Butter + PTD. Any normal person would listen to music they like, or leave the group/fandom if it’s music they don’t like.
The problem, as I described in the last paragraph, is that for certain types of people/fans, it never stops at just dissatisfaction. They have to question the artists cultural & ethnic identity, their employment contracts, their agency as human beings, table demands or obsessively criticize said group at every given opportunity, and this is something unfortunately too common in k-pop discourse. ARMYs tend to proactively push back on these ideas because it only further the commodification and dehumanizing of k-pop idols.
I can understand why the fandom can feel like a religion/cult (I had to google Church of Living Hope). It feels that way because it sometimes runs that way, which of course has both negative and maybe positive effects, but I don’t think this is uncommon for very big fandoms. For example, I’ve had a very similar experience in the MCU fandom, and even for Wizkid, a very popular Nigerian musician, I’ve had friends tell me it’s starting to feel that way as his fandom base has exploded.
