what's the genetics of talent inheritance? why are 'stronger' abilities rarer? In my opinion, p much every talent is goated, I don't see why more characters aren't more creative about it.

This might sound silly and i know bruce is bisexual and all but from a queer standpoint, the scene where he proposes to selina feels a lot like compulsory heterosexuality. "I love you. I HAVE to love you."

And considering the timeline, joker was HIDDEN INSIDE BRUCE'S BASEMENT my god the implications, the metaphor....

Yeah, the whole thing is... [clears throat] very interesting. These two panels, which happen relatively close in time, put it into perspective:

However, to be entirely honest, I don't think Bruce proposing to Selina, and that whole arc... can be boiled down to just compulsory heterosexuality. It's more complicated than that. Bruce is doing this after interacting with the Batman of Flashpoint, his own father, who begs him to try and be happy. And Bruce's idea of happiness, very much inspired by Thomas', is settling down with a woman and having a family. Gaining peace.

Tom King is the one who wrote the wedding arc, and the whole thing is permeated by this... typically masculine, American idealization of women as this isle of peace that a tortured man yearns for, but can never fully choose. I'm sure there's names for this trope or stereotype, but I'm too lazy to look this up. Think Michael Mann movies, think James Bond movies, think stories about criminals and agents and soldiers leading a dark violent life aspiring to put down arms, and the whole dream being entangled with a woman. A female character who usually isn't fleshed out beyond the representation of leaving a life of violence behind, having a nice wife and nice children in a nice house with a nice white picket fence. Tbh it's not surprising to me that King ended up writing Bruce and Selina with these undertones, because of King's infamous background with the CIA before he became a comic book writer.

And thing is, I don't think it's inaccurate to portray Bruce this way. Bruce has lead a long life of violence, and he wants to want to stop. He wishes it didn't define him as much as it does, he wishes there was another path for him-- and this wish drives his attempt to settle down with Selina. "I have to love you" is less about "you're a woman and I should marry a woman", it's more about "if I love you I am more of a human being, and I need that." Yes, it's compulsory heterosexuality too, in the sense that Bruce is drawing from the heteronormative idea that happiness can only be achieved through normality, and normality = wife and retirement. But it's also a sad, desperate attempt at salvaging himself through Selina, whom he does love... but the things he loves about her are less about her, and more about himself. In the end, his own subconscious acknowledges all of it, during the Knightmares arc:

"You can't love anyone but the Vow, but the Bat," Selina (a figment of his own mind) tells Bruce. And Joker is part of the Vow. In many ways, over the decades, Joker has become the endgame of the Vow, the incarnation of all the things the Bat is supposed to defeat. It's fucked up and makes me want to chew on glass, but the Bat could allow loving Joker, because loving Joker would be a part of the Mission.

Anyway, I went on a bit of an unncessary tangent, but yeah! I do agree, Anon. So many implications.

Journey to Ba Sing Se, Part 1: The Serpent's Pass

Alternate title: Gimme Appa Back, Take Two.

Bit of a mouthful for a title. I will definitely be watching this apparent two parter as two single episodes. There's commentary too, but that'll wait for a rewatch.

The previously on segment seems to point to Suki making an appearance. I didn't like her in her original episode, so this bodes ill.

That was incredibly ominous title card music.

Explain this to someone who's never seen the show. Also, air mattress made of ice is a very efficient way to get hypothermia.

Sokka saying "no more distractions' actually summoned a distraction. He should look into harnessing that power.

This brings up a point I've been thinking about. So the Earth Kingdom are smart enough to house refugee transportation underground, presumably because they've figured out that fire can't dig. So why didn't the entire population of the Earth Kingdom just become mole people at the first sign of fire nation attack?

Get yourself Iroh's brand of chill. It's dearly bought in his case, but he has such a good way of looking at life. Also, half of Zuko's face is like an inch higher than the other half, and that haircut is not doing him any favours.

Oh god it's fuckboy. I'd take a million Sukis over fuckboy. Nice to see that the majority of his posse seems to have come to their senses and deserted him though.

She's got a point about destruction of the ecosystem, but unless there was woodworm in that cart, that platypus bear is guilty of needless destruction of cabbage guy's possessions.

I loved this. The double punch of getting stymied by bureaucracy and undermined by cosplayers. There are some wacky ideas in this episode.

Aang! You may have lost Appa but you still have your glider! You don't need a passport or a ticket! Just fly to Ba Sing Se and make puppy dog eyes at the Earth King to make him send a boat to collect your friends!

You know that part in Harry Potter where Ron and Harry miss the train and decide the only logical course of action is to steal a flying car rather than, I don't know, wait for a responsible adult? I have a feeling this show is going to do the same type of thing with the whole Serpent's Pass. And I have to say, it's a brilliantly accurate way to do a plot that involves pre-teens, because they will often reach for the most out-there, illogical course of action no matter their intelligence. Curse those still-developing neural pathways. It also makes perfect sense in a kids' show, where the audience mostly wouldn't be caught dead turning down an adventure in favour of asking a responsible party (or a bureaucracy) for help.

I love seeing Toph weaponise that which previously kept her caged. I love to see Toph winning at life. Actually, I love to see Toph.

It's rare for me to advocate for criminal behaviour on this show, but after that bureaucracy lady denied them any sort of solution for the refugees who got their tickets stolen, I was kind of hoping that Katara would just say 'fuck it' and steal one of those ferries. Or even smuggle people on to them. They've got two waterbenders; they could make ice boats to take them out to the ferry, or even across the whole lake presumably. Plot dictates they go face this serpent thing, because this appears to be a monster of the week episode, but boy did that ferry lady need smacking.

Sokka's acting funky.

Is corniness one of the side effects of pregnancy?

No one in their right minds thinks that a pass called "the SERPENT'S Pass" in a universe like this one is named for its aesthetic qualities. Nice try at misdirection, but there will be a Sneky Boy in that water.

Aang's kind of right about the whole 'hope is a distraction' thing. Hope can too easily go from fuel to crutch.

It didn't occur to anyone to hide from the Fire Nation ship until it passed?

Toph's just saving everyone's bacon today huh?

Am I sensing some post-Yue trauma?

I would love to know the context behind Zuko knowing this very niche skill.

Jet has this fascinating ability to do objectively good deeds in such a sleezy way that you end up siding with the greedy oppressors. Weird.

This makes so much sense. Aang zipped into the Avatar State so hard and fast in the desert that he probably scared himself, so now he's keeping a lid on things so hard that he's scaring everyone else with his newfound apathy. He's 12, and this episode he feels 12. This is probably the first time he's met emotions this big; of course he doesn't quite know what to do with them.

You know, Katara doesn't get paid enough to put up with this.

Suki. Honey. I'm pretty sure there's a girl code about not flirting with a guy in front of his ex.

Has Suki been filled in on the whole moon thing? Or is she just really confused right now?

You know, Smellerbee is just as unusual a name for a girl.

Jet talks the talk, but I don't believe he'll be able to walk the walk, despite second chances being one of the big themes of this show. Something about him still feels off.

Hope you guys can swim!

Katara to the rescue again. I'm liking this new level-headed action-oriented Katara that appeared in The Desert, and I'm glad she wasn't just a one-episode character.

Momo here fulfilling one of my childhood dreams. There was an aquarium room at my local zoo that had a tunnel you could walk through. Seven year old me would have sold my soul to be able to glorp through the glass and swim with the fishes like this.

Once again, Toph saves the day. She's doing a lot of heavy lifting this episode.

Big Sneky Boy has the colour palette of an exercise video from the 80s aerobics phase. Kind of detracts from the terror when he's wearing a leotard.

Number one sign of irresponsible pet ownership: sacrificing your lemur to Cthulhu.

Aang just bitchslapped Big Sneky Boy.

Why didn't they go with a big ice bridge in the first place?

Yeah that's a problem. Could she make rock skate blades and attach them to her feet maybe? Would that help her see?

Suki can swim in like half a tonne of armour. I bet they have swimming with armour on drills on Kyoshi Island.

"You can go ahead and let me drown now." That is EXACTLY my sense of humour.

Unlike goldfish, Big Sneky Boys can be flushed down the toilet.

"Now it's nothing but smooth sailing to Ba Sing Se." *Something immediately goes wrong* Has Sokka thought about harnessing his ability to speak things into existence?

Tragically, it makes perfect sense that Katara knows exactly how to deliver real human things.

"You know, as soon as I saw your scar I knew exactly who you were." Jet's little speech here got the biggest laugh out of me yet. I had to pause so I wouldn't miss dialogue. He's so deliciously wrong.

This episode's Beat Up Sokka quota is fulfilled by a baby that has yet to be born.

"I want our daughter's name to be unique" TAKE COVER FOLKS! UNNECESSARY VOWELS INCOMING!

Didn't you guys just nearly get killled by a pass that told you to abandon Hope? Are you sure about that name?

Ok it isn't pregnancy that makes you corny. It's being a character in this episode. While I'm glad to see the back of Stoic Aang, this is getting to be a bit on the cheesy side.

Hell yeah Katara deserves that cry. And that hug.

I'm watching this at my mom's house and I need to report that when Sokka said "You came along, to protect me?" my mom audibly went "awww!"

On a more serious note, this is exactly what Sokka needs after the Yue situation. A badass girlfriend who not only can and does take care of herself, but who also can and does take care of Sokka. Boy needs some pampering.

That is one hell of a wall.

That is one hell of a Big Sneky Boy.

"Appa's gonna have to wait" hit like a tonne of bricks. Another step in the journey to turn Aang from carefree monk to repsonsible Avatar. Appa having to wait is a genius story beat, but I want Appa NOW.

Final Thoughts

I had to check out my window for flying pigs before I started typing this section, because Zuko was consistently the most reasonable character in the B plot, perhaps in the whole episode. Apparently the 'make Zuko decent' project is finally seeing results. Have we turned over a new leaf? Dare I hope? It helps that he was juxtaposed with one of the single most batshit crazy characters from season one, but still.

I also need to issue a formal apology to Suki and all of her fans. I didn't like her in The Warriors of Kyoshi, and while I'm still not overly fond of that episode, I love what they've done with her character here. A good standalone character with her own strengths, goals, and responsibilities, and a good match for Sokka. I'd go so far as to say she's a better match for Sokka than Yue was, for all that both ladies have a startling amount in common: a position of responsibility, devotion to those who regard them as a leader, good taste in water tribe ass, etc.

I'm also going to hypothesise that Sokka is, in universe, the hottest member of the Gang. He's now had four girls expressing their interest: Suki, then Yue, then Azula's pokey pink friend whose name currently escapes me, and now Toph too! And she can't even see him, so his hotness is more than skin deep.

This episode was another stealth character episode in the style of The Blue Spirit. You think it's an action episode but it's actually character work with some fights for spice. It's got: -payoff for Katara's new-found levelheadedness -the other side of the coin on Aang's desert freakout -Toph doing just ALL the heavy lifting in the absence of Appa (seriously, teach her to fly and you won't need Appa as anything but a friendly couch) -Toph also getting an incredibly logical weakness that she learns she can rely on her friends to surmount -Sokka getting some Yue resolution from a frankly ironic source -Zuko getting what I'm sure is going to turn into a dark mirror

Speaking of fuckboy, there was nothing in this episode that hinted that Jet's turn to good was anything but genuine, but something about him still really makes my teeth itch. So I'm calling it now: based not on any evidence, but entirely on my own feelings, Jet's turn to good isn't going to stick.

There was some corny stuff in this episode, but it's a kids' show. It gets way more allowance for corny than an adult show does. I'll let it slide, so long as it doesn't become a habit.

This was part one of a two part episode, but it certainly didn't feel that way. There was the Big Metal Sneky Boy plot hook at the very end, but other than that it was a self-contained story.

I had predicted last episode that the rest of season two would be spent getting to Ba Sing Se, and they did it in one episode. So I'd like to announce my retirement from predicting the future because I am not good at it. I have no idea where we're going beyond next episode. I guess I'll have fun finding out!

The Devil's Foot pt 3

The last part of the story and still no devilish feet in sight. I have to assume it's the name of the drug at this point, because otherwise I don't know what's going on.

Last time Holmes and Watson did a very stupid thing and almost died a very stupid death. Then they declared their undying devotion to each other and it would have all been ever so sweet if I hadn't wanted to bonk their heads together to try to get their brains working via percussive maintenance.

⬆️Holmes and Watson's last two braincells there, right before they killed them inhaling an incredibly fast acting lethal poison.

"It would be superfluous to drive us mad, my dear Watson," said he. "A candid observer would certainly declare that we were so already before we embarked upon so wild an experiment."

Holy shit, that poison gave Holmes the ability to read my mind.

"But the cause remains as obscure as before."

I wonder. Could the weird poison that Holmes doesn't appear to have come across before possibly be linked to the famous explorer/adventurer/lion guy who has been to many exotic and distant locales?

Perhaps?

Multiple murderers? How very un-Occam of you, Holmes. I did entertain the possibility for myself for a little while. But if he did the first one he must have been in league with the second murderer, or at least close enough that they knew what he'd done. (By second murderer, I mean lion guy. Unless it turns out to be the housekeeper getting revenge. The only other option is the vicar and he'd have to be supremely arrogant to have brought both crimes to Holmes' attention).

Also, we've been through how you shouldn't judge people's characters based on their appearance, well, not their facial features.

But yeah, this all lines up with what I was saying at the start before Lion guy showed up.

In my head, this guy is literally just an anthropomorphic lion.

For a moment I wished that I were armed. This is the sign of an entirely rational and calm human being.

I do not understand why he has such a strong and obvious reaction to the first bit, then attempts to back pedal and be all 'No idea what you're talking about'.

I mean, I do get it, but I don't get why he thinks it's going to work. As previously stated he absolutely should keep asserting that he has no idea what they are talking about. But it's such a transparent ploy after he's already lost his cool.

"I saw no one." "That is what you may expect to see when I follow you."

This line goes hard.

ACD's war against the British divorce laws continues. I have tried to look up the history of divorce law in the UK, but it is an incredibly tangled web that I do not have the inclination to untangle at this time. Although I just learnt that until 2012 people in this country couldn't get married before 8am or after 6pm. Weird.

I think we can all agree, though, that ACD thought the divorce laws were bloody stupid and he was right.

On the outside was written "Radix pedis diaboli" with a red poison label beneath it. He pushed it towards me. "I understand that you are a doctor, sir. Have you ever heard of this preparation?" "Devil's-foot root!"

But how tho?

Which half? I don't understand how you can have half of each of these... does it have toes? Is it a hoof? How? I cannot work out what this would look like at all.

You're dead, so I guess this doesn't really matter now, but you don't... take the incredibly obvious poison from the incredibly mentally unhinged man and then use it when he's still in the country. Not when it has such obvious and unique effects. This is what is called Bad Planning and Obvious.

It's like you wanted him to kill you. Is that victim blaming? probably. But you're also a murderer, so... does it balance out?

Also, Mr Lion Man, don't... tell people about your weird crazy poisons and then follow it up with 'also you could kill people with it in this country and law enforcement would never be able to detect it, lol.' Especially not if you're suspicious of the guy.

So many bad decisions in this story.

Lion man... you should not be allowed access to hazardous materials. Your OSHA compliance is poor. That needs to be in a locked poison cabinet. You shouldn't be handling it without PPE and you definitely shouldn't be letting untrained and unvetted people in there.

But sure, he can get off because he was killing the first murderer... I guess. I'm not as sympathetic towards him as I've been towards previous people. Maybe because he doesn't strike me as the kind of person for whom this was his first or last kill. His reaction to Holmes seems like he's prepared to just murder anyone who gets in his way. Previously the people Holmes has let go have been people who killed as a last desperate attempt to free themselves or were pushed too far past their breaking point in one instance.

This guy just... seems like he wouldn't bat an eyelid at killing again. And again. And again. For far less reason.

I still think this is nonsense, but sure. I have discovered that apparently someone somewhere apparently wrote Holmes' paper on the subject and published it in 1998. Which is a thing.

Thanks Watson for warning me against poisoning myself. I'll bear that in mind. Perhaps you could take your own medical advice?

hello all you beautiful people!

a little unknown fact about me: i love reading! i mainly read reference material and nonfiction, but i don't mind the occasional fiction! i have plenty of friends on here who like reading (after all, you're on my page!) and who love elvis, so i figured i'd make a compendium of books that were adapted into elvis' movies.

it will be organized by the movie / the year it came out, and the story / its author. i'll also include a little description of each.

-love me tender (1956) & the story of the reno gang: this movie was not based on a story, but actual historical events! the reno gang were a group of brothers who went around the midwest robbing trains. clinton reno was a real person, the youngest of the five brothers (his nickname was "honest", as he never got involved with any criminal activity pertaining to his brothers.)

-loving you (1957) & a call from mitch miller by mary agnes thompson: the movie was based on a short story by mary agnes thompson that was featured in the june 1956 edition of good housekeeping.

-king creole (1958) & a stone for danny fisher by harold robbins: king creole was the first of el's movies to be based on an entire book! the role was originally meant for james dean, and was set in the backstreets of new york city.

-flaming star (1960) & flaming lance by clair huffaker: this was one of two movies where the original author was involved in creating the screenplay.

-wild in the country (1961) & the lost country by j.r. salamanca: although some creative liberties were taken (el's character went from an artist to a writer and hope lange's character became a psychiatrist rather than a teacher), it still followed the same plot as the original novel. it was also the first to feature elvis on a published paperback.

-follow that dream (1962) & pioneer, go home! by richard p. powell: the novel is based on a family from new jersey (WOOT WOOT), and although technically based on the book, the movie takes many creative liberties to the point of it being almost completely opposite the original source material.

-stay away, joe (1968) & stay away, joe by dan cushman: this is what el considered his first "serious" role. although involving some incredibly racist stereotypes, it is rooted in some truth about elvis' lineage: his great-great-great grandmother was a cherokee woman named morning white dove, and some attribute his high cheekbones and striking features to his distant native ancestry.

-live a little, love a little (1968) & kiss my firm but pliant lips by dan greenburg: the movie, like follow that dream, was so loosely based on the book that it was almost completely opposite the original source material.

-charro! (1969) & charro! by harry whittington: this is the only "officially endorsed" book based on an elvis movie.

-the trouble with girls (1969) & chautauqua by day keene: this is my absolute favorite movie of all time, and ironically, there is no information about the book's plot. based on what i've gathered from other sources, it follows an almost identical plot to the movie. unfortunately, the author died 9 months prior to the movie's release.

-change of habit (1969) & title-not-available by richard morris and john joseph: according to wikipedia, change of habit was based on a story written by richard morris and john joseph. i've scoured the internet under both of those names, and found nothing! oh well.

Oh yeah! It was a while back, I learned of the concept and really liked them- I must confess, I’ve never read His Dark Materials, so consider these… Daemons the concept, without that particular setting.

That said- here’s my picks!

Artemis:

A black cat! While Artemis’s daemon remained unsettled for a very long time due to his confused sense of identity, flitting between forms like sooty owls and black kingsnakes, she eventually settled on the black cat. Clever, quick-witted, and serving as one of Artemis’s only voices of emotion rather than reason, Aurum is secretive and an incredibly accurate judge of character- but unlike Artemis, she doesn’t hesitate to listen to her compassionate, ‘childish’ side.

Butler:

A wolverine. Surprising, given that they’re hardly known for their protectiveness, but Ursa (similar to Butler, her real name is unknown) works alongside him well nonetheless. After a life spent honing her claws and fangs for combat, she found it rather difficult to adjust to the life of guarding a small, defenseless and oh-so-curious child. But where Butler constantly finds himself struggling to maintain his air of professionalism in the messy web that the Fowl-Butler family dynamic happens to be, Ursa has chosen to ignore it altogether- she will say and do what she likes. She doesn’t hesitate to call out Artemis’s flawed logic when she sees it, and has often been the one to urge Butler to question him in the first place.

Holly:

A red squirrel. Small, agile, and adept at hiding, Russano is humorous and rarely takes a situation seriously. This, alongside the fact that he isn’t a large carnivore like many of the other LEP officer’s daemons, has earned Holly much criticism from the others, but for the most part, she’s learned to ignore them. While his teasing can quickly become tiresome, Russo is very bright and knows more than he lets on- he’s helped Holly macgyver her way out of all kinds of situations- joking the entire time, of course.

Juliet:

A pine marten. Ferah is a little vain, but unshakable. Despite being rather small, and not as intimidating as Ursa, Butler’s daemon, Ferah has always had unflinching confidence in whatever task he and Juliet had set their minds to- even, at times, when Juliet didn’t. Prone to pranks and other harmless antics, he’s always quick to lighten the mood- and occasionally, he’ll actually offer some sage advice.

Fowl Senior:

A snow leopard. Myrtenaster rarely speaks, and even more rarely offers an opinion on matters, even if they are of great importance. Well aware that her chosen form isn’t one Fowl Senior would have expected (birds were once traditional for the Fowls), she nonetheless has garnered a respect of her own among the criminal underworld- despite being of a ‘softer’ breed of big cat, Myrtenaster has gotten her claws dirty alongside Senior in the past, and there was no daemon more cunning or ferocious… when the moment called for it. Now, surviving what she has alongside Fowl Senior, all she wants is a peaceful life, and spends her time mostly napping at his feet (and keeping an eye on the twins where she can).

Angeline:

A black swan. Verdauga, much like Angeline, is something of a hopeless romantic, and can often be found reading over her shoulder when he can. Bright but scatterbrained, Verdauga often helps her plan and organize events, and often serves as a gentle voice of restraint when needed. He encourages her to spend time with her son Artemis as much as he can, as he can see how their distance during those two long years has affected him, but both he and Angeline are always left confused when they accidentally push him even further away.

The Twins:

A crested gecko and stellar’s jay, respectively!

- Bryony, Beckett’s reptilian daemon, is always in a sunny mood, even when Beckett himself is not. Well-versed in the nature of other animals and skilled in interpreting language, she is easily able to tell someone’s mood, intention, and truthfulness just through observance alone. Incredibly active, she lives up to her chosen species, constantly leaping and clambering about- much like Beckett, she is rarely still, and rarely silent.

- Deynah is Myle’s ever faithful companion- if only the two could ever see eye-to-eye. Constantly flitting about, she is often anxious and unlike Myles, longs for a sense of stability, not adventure or recognition. She prefers to stay in the shadows, and that is something that Myles cannot agree with- perhaps that is why, even after all this time, she is still (secretly) unsettled.

Opal:

A vampire bat. Somewhat laid-back despite Opal’s nature, Gulo rarely finds it necessary to actually try to intimidate her enemies- often, his mere presence is enough. Carnivorous daemons are somewhat uncommon among the People, which made his choice of form something of a surprise to Opal’s parents. While he’s not the biggest or most dangerous creature, Gulo is still capable of a nasty bite, and he’s perfectly fine if a disagreement ends in spilled blood- either way, he doesn’t care much.

Spiro:

A (blue-eyed leucistic) Eastern Diamondback rattlesnake. Baliss, much like Spiro’s jewelry and loud manner of speaking, tends to draw the eye- and by all means, she doesn’t mind. Relishing in how uncomfortable her presence makes Spiro’s fellow businessman, she shares both his impulsivity and his cunning, her rattling tail the one and only warning they give before violence breaks loose. When there’s no one to intimidate, she spends her time curled around his shoulders (where’s its warm) or loose in the penthouse, near-invisible against the white of his suit or suite.

Britva:

A polar bear. Britva is a cold, brutal man, who makes bloodthirst and violence appear as second nature- given that, is it any surprise that Sawney would take the form of one of the few creatures known to actively hunt humankind? Sawney’s snow-white fur has long since become stained red, a permanent reminder of the brutality she is capable of. A rare sight to see, given Britva’s secretive nature, but if you are to catch a glimpse of her, your time has run out.

Criminal Minds OC

I've posted a bit about a wife I made for Spencer Reid and wanted to post some more of her to help with my writer's block.

Eleanor Campbell is an OC of mine that I made back in 2020 and have slowly been writing a fanfiction on Wattpad (no judgement plz). She's in the show since season 1 (mostly because that's like my fav season) and is an expert on child psychology and development.

She's a character of mine that I absolutely love and have made many headcanons about and so I would love to share some because I doubt all of them will make their way into the story.

-Starting with she knows 3 languages: English, Spanish, and Persian -She's the second oldest of her family. Having an older brother, a younger sister, and finally a younger brother. -Her father is a first-generation American citizen. His parents where from Iran and moved to the US before he was born. -Her mother moved to the US from Mexico when she was 3 years old with her parents and 4 sisters. -At the start of the show/story Eleanor is the closest with Derek as the two are often paired together in the field. -Second would be Penelope -She was in the process of leaving her first husband, Tyler, when she joined the BAU in 2004 -She has a little boy named Mason with Tyler but the two split during her pregnancy. -Her youngest brother, Leo, has cystic fibrosis of which he died of complications of when Eleanor was 18 -She's made out with most of the BAU ladies while drunk/tips on girls' night. This list includes JJ, Emily, Elle, and Penelope. -Eleanor and Derek call each other their work wife/husband even after Eleanor has married Spencer -Spencer: I don't really think it counts if you actually work with your husband -She did not care and continued to call Derek her work husband. -Eleanor is a known flirt. It's just her personality. She has most definitely made Spencer blush even before she had actual feelings for him. -Spencer fell first but Eleanor most definitely fell harder -Her and Spencer are a hot iconic Bi couple -Spencer is the absolute best step-dad to Mason -They both adore each other -She has a nickname for just about all the members of the BAU -JJ's is Jennybear or some similar vison to it -She calls Derek Hubby or Der -Penelope's are sweets, sweet girl, angle, bebita, or Penny - Elle and her often call each other tons of different things in Spanish depending on their moods -She calls Emily wifey (it annoys Spencer and Derek) or Em -She hates clowns -She really had to work with Spencer on his Spanish pronunciations before her mother heard him and beat her. -Her favorite animal is a Fox -Her favorite color is Yellow -She made the first move on Spencer -But he said I love you first -Eleanor sees a therapist from season two and on -Eleanor was Spencer's first -Eleanor and Spencer have had like 4 bad fights the entire time they've known each other -There are 4 recurring characters that Eleanor doesn't like or get along with.

Born to young parents, in Raleigh, NC, and birth named Wayne Scott jr. His family seemed perfect on the outside, but behind closed doors, were anything but. His parents had a very toxic relationship, and he witnessed it.

Has younger twin siblings, a boy named Donald "Donny" and a girl named Daisy.

At 10, his father would end up murdering his mother. And then made him help bury the body, before going to comfort the twins

He was home alone a lot, his father worked on the road. So he was the parent.

At 14, the cops broke down his door, looking for his dad. Turns out his father, Wayne F. Scott, was a serial killer. His father never seemed to return home. And the 3 kids were eventually placed with a head cop and his wife; because their heart went out to them.

They would end up adopting all 3, and they'd change their names completely to 'Ezekiel Joseph Mercer'. Donny to Isaiah Michael Mercer. Daisy to Abigail Mary Mercer.

He'd go onto serving in the military. Before following his adoptive father's foot steps, and becoming a cop. A way to prove to himself he wasn't his father.

Isaiah would be killed in a car accident, and at the same time, his then girlfriend, Danielle, would find out she was pregnant.

Grieve stricken, almost other things, he'd jump to proposing, feeling like that was the right thing to do. Despite the fact that he was growing feelings for his brother's girlfriend at the time. And was now weighed down with guilt over it.

He and Danielle would go on to get married, and have a beautiful little girl named Evie.

Zeke would resign from the army after the death of his brother, and go into law, to become a cop.

When Evie was 10, they'd come to adopt their best friends daughter, Kyla, after both parents were murdered in their home.

Zeke was married for 16 years, and it has not been smooth. He often fought with his wife about how much he worked, and how alone she felt. It led to a separation, and he's currently going through a divorce.

No one but his adoptive parents, and his sister know the truth about where they came from.

His father was never caught, and presumed to be dead.

He lives in an apartment in Midtown. His daughters still live with their mom, but he makes as much time to see them as he can. Still very active dad.

Red - doesn’t want kids, he values his peace and quiet too much, and all his trips aren’t exactly safe for a child, his career and traveling would be put on hold for a kid, and that’s just not something he’d want.

Blue - wouldn’t mind either way, while not having a drive to have a kid, if it happens it happens and he’d be fine with it. Also completely fine with someone who doesn’t want kids.

Lance - wants at least one kid, he finds kids cute and wants to pass down the way of the clan of dragon masters.

Morty - he’s great with kids but doesn’t want one himself, he’s happy to be an cool uncle or brother to kids.

Norman - wouldn’t mind another.

Winona - wouldn’t ruin her career like that. She’s much too busy and is more focused on working.

Wallace - values his beauty sleep too much, and another one who’s busy. Sure he makes time for his partner, but a child requires much more attention than he can give.

Steven stone - has wanted a child but with his hectic life? And constantly being in the spot light? He doesn’t think it’s a good idea to thrust a child, who didn’t ask for this, into the spot light. He fine if his partner doesn’t want one either, he understands.

Archie - he’d be a fun dad, not actively trying for a kid but hey if it happens! But also chill if his partner doesn’t want one, he is a wanted criminal after all.

Matt - another fun dad, fun uncle, definitely wants kids and would be hurt if you didn’t.

Shelly - Absolutely not, she’s a cool aunt, absolutely loves spending time with Matt and Archie’s kid, but refuses to have any for herself. Would be upset if you wanted kids if anything.

Maxie - (ignore my headcanons rn) he doesn’t like babies or toddlers, he works best with older kids, therefore no.

Tabitha - wants kids and would try his best, but he’s kinda bummed if you don’t want kids, granted he gets it, again a criminal.

Courtney - like the villains before her, she doesn’t think she could take care of a kid properly with her situation, but also just doesn’t have a parental drive.

Volkner - he’d like to have a runt or two, though doesn’t complain if you don’t.

Flint - GIB CHILD. He’s a family man, definitely wants kids and doesn’t think a relationship will work if you don’t want any.

Elesa - she’s good with kids and would like one, but doesn’t mind if you don’t, she’s a busy person after all, being a gym leader and a model, she understands.

Skyla - would like one! Please! She loves kids and would love to have one of her own.

Brycen - he’d like two, no particular reason why, but he’s a softie.

Drayden - doesn’t want any kids.

Grimsley - nope! He’s happy to be the child free uncle that brings dope gifts for holidays, but other than that no, he likes his freedom way too much.

Adler - another that wouldn’t mind having kids but can live without one.

Ingo - based entirely off his partner. He’s not one that falls in love easy, and falls out of love even harder, he wants you in his life permanently. He can be with someone who doesn’t want kids.

Emmet - he’s torn, on one hand kids! On the other all the problems/easily potential problems that come with that. Perfectly fine if you don’t want kids, that means more fun for you two!

Prof. Sycamore - loves kids, is great with kids, but is a coin toss away if he wants to have one or not.

Guzma/Plumeria - absolutely not, they aren’t stable enough for kids in anyway, and they already care for their grunts (which is questionable.)

Nanu - another no, please he’s old, he’s tired, he barely takes care of himself, what makes you think he’d be fit for a kid?

Molayne - he wouldn’t be hurt if you didn’t want a kid, and the relationship can still go on.

Milo - would like one!

Piers - he raised Marnie, he is parented out, please no.

Sonia - would absolutely want a few kids! Of course once she’s in a good spot in her career she’d love to start a family with you.

Nessa - one, but she’s not going to be upset of you don’t want any.

Kabu - isn’t against kids but he’s perfectly fine without any.

Melony - she’s already had a five, she’s tapped out. No more for her.

Raihan - wants at least one little dragon in training, more is also fine, but you not wanting any is cool too.

Leon - wants a big family, he’s a family man!

Okay, Trigun: Stampede/Pacific Rim crossover AU time. Under a cut for length, please know that this is a rough first draft of the concept and probably nothing I can commit to writing. But if there's one thing a bitch (me) knows how to do, it's make a Pacific Rim AU out of anything. So here we go, I guess!

Basic Setup:

Transfer the start of Pacific Rim's timeline far enough into the future that Plants are a plausible technology and say that humanity never damaged Earth bad enough to have to leave it. Therefore, when two Independents are born, and when they find out the truth of what happened to the last Independent born before them, we're still on Earth. And conveniently close to the Pacific ocean.

Plants start going missing along the Pacific coast. Not long after, the first Kaiju attacks. One Independent is pulled out of the rubble by Research Team Three; another goes missing.

The monstrosities that begin to attack humanity are eventually traced back to Plants, creating a public distrust in their use. They've become too ingrained in the fabric of society to do away with entirely, but coastal communities are forced to live without them as Plant use predominantly moves inland. The exact cause of the sudden merger and transformation of the rogue Plants is unknown, but blamed on a sort of "mind virus" that causes them to behave aggressively. This virus is eventually called the Kaiju virus, and infected colonies are often referred to as Kaiju rather than Plants.

The Jaeger program is created. Vash stays with Research Team Three, who pivot to helping with the newly created program. Five years later, he sees his brother again, an incident that leaves him minus one arm and with a sinking suspicion that his brother wants him for something. He runs, and runs, and runs some more, never staying in one place for long but starting to gather reputation as a troublemaker.

The tide shifts in the favor of the Kaiju and their mysterious leader. Red Plants start going missing further and further inland. A newbie reporter and her beleaguered old-timer colleague are assigned a job: see if the reports of infamous wanted criminal Vash the Stampede being in town are accurate. And Vash?

Vash is really just trying to avoid a family reunion.

Character Specific Details:

Vash, as noted, is still an Independent, but much younger in this timeline (chronologically about 14, which would put him in his mid twenties biologically). He's been jumping from town to town to avoid being detected by Knives, but still pops in to visit Brad and Luida, who are still working in a Shatterdome (Brad works on Jaegers, Luida works in ecological restoration).

Not much has changed with Meryl or Roberto. Wolfwood is an undercover Kaiju cultist (we're combining the Eye of Michael and the Kaiju cultists from canon here) with the same mission as in canon: look after Vash, get him to July (which is in this case a Shatterdome, not a city, that has secretly been under Knives' control for years). His gun is probably different, but no less oversized.

Knives is, in fact, the cause of the Kaiju. Remember how in Maximum he could merge with the other Plants to make the Ark basically a giant living ship? It's like that. He's got his roots in the July Shatterdome and has been using his cultist underlings to undermine the program for years. Legato is there, enough said. Conrad too, though under an assumed name since most believe he died in the initial Kaiju attack. The basic plan to open the portal to the Higher Realm is also intact, with the added danger that it will make connecting to every Plant on the planet feasible (instead of having to individually kidnap them, bring them out to the ocean, and morph them into giant monsters there) and allow Knives to wipe out humanity that way.

I can still see Stacker trying to keep it together and having to bring back in Raleigh since the program is bleeding pilots and support. Mako is still the best; Newt and Hermann are still on their bullshit, though Newt is technically a Plant engineer in this timeline. You can bet your ass he loses his mind when he finds out what Vash really is.

Some Other Random Plot Ideas I Have:

The coastal wall attempt still happens, Knives just summons a Kaiju inside the wall to mess with them.

Some jackass decides that even though the Kaiju are, in fact, Plants, that Plant-powered Jaegers might be a way forward since the potential damage of a failed Plant reaction is less than the damage of a nuclear core, and they have plenty of Plants lying around that can be repurposed. Needless to say, this goes BADLY. No amount of "hardening" and "shielding" can keep Knives from influencing a Plant.

Knives forces Vash into reveal himself by basically making Vash choose between showing himself to be an Independent (by stopping a rogue Plant-powered Jaeger) or staying hidden but letting people die. Vash being Vash, he chooses the former. Yes, this does cause a LOT of distrust towards him.

Could take the ending mission of the movie (plant a bomb in the interdimensional portal to close it) and apply it to the July incident? So part of the conflict becomes that if this happens, there's a high chance Vash will die, but if they don't do it, there's a high chance EVERYONE will die.

July still gets blown off the map, it's just a matter of how. Still trying to figure that out.

𝔀𝓪𝓻𝓷𝓲𝓷𝓰𝓼 - normal criminal minds warnings, character death, torture, angst, loads of tears, grief

𝓭𝓮𝓼𝓬𝓻𝓲𝓹𝓽𝓲𝓸𝓷 - agent ellianna johnson is taken by the unsub after she was assigned the task of taking said unsub down. the unsub was ellianna's uncle and a serial killer who had been killing during ellianna's entire thirty years of life, ultimately ruining and shaming the "johnson" last name. that was until she was her uncle's very last victim before arresting him finally bringing some peace, justice and closure for the victims and her family.

ellianna knew she had to do something so the unsub wouldn't get away with his crimes but, she really should have been more thought out with her decision-making skills, especially as an fbi agent with the behavioural analysis unit. yet, if she was questioned later about the decision she made, she would 100% defend herself and say that whilst she could absolutely have been more thought out, her plan was the most logical idea and the only way in which the unsub was going to meet his end as a serial killer.

now, ellianna, in her almost ten years with the fbi's bau has been through many a torture chamber but, none were as horrific as the one that she was currently hanging in by her wrists that were attached to the top of the ceiling of the old warehouse she was being held captive in. refusing to show the fear that she didn't have, she put her life on the line so many times at this point that it almost becomes something of an "inside joke" within the bau to act like some "lighthearted" therapy. and to make light of all the times the thirty-year-old had been kidnapped and tortured whilst on a case. however, this torture was going to be the one case that wouldn't ever be a laughable one, even in the far-off future. this one was for sure the one that ellianna was about a hundred million per cent sure going to kill her. this warehouse was the panic room that haunted the agent's dreams every single night, despite the constant denial to her fellow agents and sometimes herself about the nightmares she'd have about the said warehouse.

the unsub that ellianna and her boyfriend dr spencer reid were tasked to capture was a sixty-year-old male, just shy of 6ft tall, with shaggy brown hair, and dirty brown eyes with the stench of a garbage collector. the man's name was peter johnson and heartbreakingly, ellianna's own uncle from her dad's side of the family. hence why she threw herself into the warehouse rather than jj, derek, emily or her two bosses aaron and david. but that didn't mean that ellianna threw herself into that warehouse on her own entirely, she had her boyfriend and fellow supervisory special agent dr spencer reid as her number two. she made a promise to her parents, basically her whole family, that even if it killed her, this job, she'd be the person to eventually take down her serial killer uncle so no one else had to go through the trauma that this man was bringing not just to her family but to the wider state of virginia and the country of the united states of america.

"...why is it that you always have to sacrifice yourself for your team, ellianna? is this something that gives you a buzz? an excitement?" the gruff voice of the unsub, who was ellianna's uncle, made her entire body shiver as she grunted, really showing her body strength as she held herself up

"why else do you think, peter? and no, why would this give me a buzz or excitement? i'm doing my goddamn job!" the thirty-year-old spat back, not wanting the niceties to be much longer, the man understanding that almost straight away

"oh, that's right, how could i forget! you want to prove to our family as well as to your team that you can arrest me after i've spent the last thirty years committing these crimes and only now i've been caught and you wanted to be the final victim!" the older man snarled as ellianna dryly chuckled at her insane family member

"i don't want to prove myself to them because i don't need to prove anything to anybody. i promised my family years ago when i first joined the fbi academy that i would do anything in my power to make sure they and i were all alive to see you finally be thrown into prison. i was nineteen then and i'm thirty now and only one small thing has changed about that statement!" ellianna huffed out, her attitude really testing her uncle's patience, just like it did when she was younger as the older, grotesque man crossed his arms over, daring to challenge his fed niece

"what's changed then, enlighten me, my dear niece. what has changed in the last ten years, ellianna johnson?" peter spat out as ellianna chuckled to herself, always up for the fun that was challenging her dad's older brother

"what's changed, is that i no longer care whether i come out of here alive or not. as long as the rest of my family is alive and healthy to see you get thrown into prison and have their witness statements taken and given justice by getting charged and thrown away for the rest of your life, it no longer bothers me whether or not i'm alive or dead. as long as my family gets justice for the despicable and abhorrent crimes you committed, i'll know i died a hero and a role model for the family because i helped them take down the serial killer who destroyed not just the name of our family but also all the good that's in our family because of the decision you made over thirty years ago to finally listen to those little voices in your head that you had been ignoring for so many years until they got so loud that you couldn't deal with them anymore and the only way you thought you could stop them was from killing others!" ellianna was raging mad at this point, not caring that she was covered in blood, blood that was dripping from her forehead and feet - all she cared about was her family and all the other families getting the justice they deserved years ago

this was when ellianna wished that she had an eidetic memory because she couldn't even remember that spencer, her boyfriend and fellow agent had come with her into the warehouse, also getting caught by her uncle - though only getting restrained to a chair in front of her as he opened his eyes and made eye contact with the love of his life

a flash of memory then came across ellianna as she moved to make eye contact with him. she knew he'd be just as terrified as she would be. wordlessly, without peter realising since he was distracted, ellianna comforted spencer, letting him know that whilst it looked like it hurt from the way she was hanging by her hands, she was completely fine and that she was able to handle it. the moment that she got the confirmation head nod from spencer, she focused back to peter, who had seemed to suddenly remember also, that he had kept spencer restrained to a chair sitting right in front of ellianna, whilst he had stood slightly off to the side.

"hmm, seems like you hadn't forgotten about spencer like i would have thought you did, i mean, i forgot about him for a second because of how quiet he is..." peter trailed off in a taunting voice as ellianna rolled her eyes as the sounds of the warehouse lights sounded, the burst of light making both spencer and ellianna turn away due to how bright it was and how their eyes still needed adjustment

"...of course, i didn't, you douchebag! now, what are you going to do to him, peter?" ellianna started to slightly panic, on the inside that is, she was staying calm on the outside as she hoped that whilst the team were all wired and connected, they were still close by and had the opportunity and a chance at rescuing spencer

"absolutely nothing dear niece of mine. i mean, i haven't forgotten and i don't think spencer here has forgotten the entire screech of a speech you made to me and everyone that cares to watch this live feed at the start of this entire ordeal. you screamed for spencer not to be hurt and i haven't. i haven't laid a single finger on dr reid and i won't because i'll be way too busy laying every single finger on you to even give that squib a second look..." peter trailed off as spencer let out a wrangled cry, making peter and ellianna snap their heads, peter moving closer to his niece to move a strand of her hair behind her ear

"...shh, spence, please, it's okay! i'm okay, i promise, he isn't hurting me!" ellianna tried her absolute hardest to convince her boyfriend that the torture by her uncle wasn't painful at all - and it was true, ellianna hadn't screamed one single time

"she's right, boy genius, she hasn't screamed, not once. not since she begged on her knees for me to hurt her, instead of you..." peter snickered as all spencer's mind could go back to was that moment, he had never seen his girlfriend beg like that in their entire time at the bau together, and neither did the rest of their team who was watching via the live feed that penelope had hacked into after being given the link by peter

"--please, peter, i beg of you. take me instead, leave spencer alone. hurt me, touch me, rape me! whatever it is you want, just do it to me. just leave spencer and the rest of my team alone, they've done nothing wrong! and keep your bloody hands off of him!" she begged, she had never sounded so sure but so pained at the same time as she saw her uncle drift closer to her boyfriend as though he was taunting his niece

in her almost decade of serving as a federal agent with the fbi's behavioural analysis unit, ssa ellianna johnson hadn't ever begged an unsub for something more than for her boyfriend, ssa dr spencer reid to be spared by them, the unsub they were trying to take down, which had turned out to be ellianna's own uncle.

the rest of spencer and ellianna's team; derek morgan, emily prentiss, jennifer (jj) jareau, penelope garcia, david rossi and aaron hotchner watched the security camera live footage with anxiety and uncertainty for their two youngest members. the team was usually so fearless so whenever something bad happened to spencer and or ellianna, the team was always at their most vulnerable. the girls had tears blurring their vision and the guys tried to hold back their own tears and their anger as the team sat in silence as they watched the live feed that had been sent to penelope for this very reason and it boiled their blood.

peter was still not budging on his niece's pleas to leave spencer alone. neither spencer nor ellianna had been restrained as yet as they had just arrived but peter had already thrown things at them and given both of them minor concussions.

if it took ellianna to get on her knees begging her uncle for him to stay away from spencer, she would do anything to make sure he would be safe and, that's what she did. ellianna got down on her knees, her hands in the air and her gun out of its holster and discarded on the floor, begging for her uncle to leave her boyfriend alone and to take her as his hostage and torture her so that her boyfriend would be safe and sound.

"for fuck sake, peter, please! stay the fuck away from spencer, don't you dare think about even laying one of your dirty fingers on him. put all those grubby, bloody, serial killer fingers on me and torture me with every ounce of your body because you'll have so much more fun hurting me than you would if you were hurting spencer. please, let me take spencer's place he has so much more life left to live for and new things to research and find out about life. he...he has to take care of his mom, he has to find a cure for her! please, leave him alone!" ellianna begged again, on her knees as peter finally changed his mind, ellianna eased as spencer was then placed in the chair, right in front of the chains that were suspended in the air with all different kinds of torture devices next to it

spencer had never been known fear in his life until this moment right here. it wasn't him being tied up to the chair that terrified him, the thing that scared him was having to watch the love of his life, the girl he wanted to marry, watch getting tortured and killed right in front of him with a front-row seat, their team also helplessly watching, by someone who once loved her, he'd do anything to protect her as her uncle.

"ellianna, what are you doing?" spencer whimpered, not caring that he sounded like a weak, scared little boy in front of the unsub because, at this moment, that's how he felt as ellianna smiled softly

"i'm saving your life, spence. i can't let you die, you mean way too much to me. you've been through so much, it's time i deserved some pain once in a while, i'm lessening the load," ellianna smiled, keeping up her strength as peter drew ever so closer to his niece so he could start assembling the torture, grabbing her and chucking her against a wall, causing spencer and the team watching to flinch at the noise ellianna's body made as it connected with the wall as more blood started to pool at the back of her head, matching the blood trickling down her forehead, due to the force the push had created

the metal chains loudly clasped her hands above her head as she hung with her feet no longer touching the ground beneath her as she remained tough and unafraid. a smile suddenly formed on the young agent's face as she suddenly giggled at how unflattering this pose must have looked to spencer and the team at the angle they were watching it at. saying it in a way to make the horrific situation more comedic, however, it of course didn't land as well as she wanted it to land.

"this pose must look very unflattering to you guys right now..." ellianna giggled suddenly as she then looked down, the mortified look of her boyfriend, spencer, as well as her team who she couldn't see, didn't find it as comedic as she thought they would have

halting her laughter, ellianna quietly gulped, not knowing what else she could say to fill the suddenly eerie silence that fell throughout the abandoned warehouse - peter ignoring the exchange

it seemed as if ellianna's begs to save spencer in replacement for her was working. she smiled to herself that her boyfriend was safe, though he was having to watch his girlfriend be tortured right in front of him whilst restrained, he was safe.

no more than a second longer did peter wait before his homemade torture equipment was powered up before it started to tear into and shock ellianna's body. the equipment varied from kitchen appliances like knives, screwdrivers, ice picks, and a baseball bat to an electric wire that would end up being bound around ellianna's legs as well as other things that burnt into the agent's skin. ellianna's entire body was being torn into and was on fire however that gorgeous, loving, caring, bright smile remained etched on her face, not once letting it falter or letting herself scream out in pain for her uncle to switch the torture equipment off.

ellianna knew that it was bothering her uncle immensely that she wasn't reacting to the torture. she knew that he always thrived off of the pain of his victims yet, she'd always been known to have the physical and mental strength throughout her entire life to be able to withstand whatever torture that was subjected to her. so, ellianna could tell that if her uncle was a firecracker about to explode, he would have set the entire warehouse ablaze because he wasn't getting the reaction and what he wanted from his victim. but, the catch was, due to how smart peter was, it didn't take him too long to figure out what could possibly make his niece falter and that was seeing her boyfriend falter and freak out. for ellianna, the only known thing to cause her pain in the world was seeing her boyfriend spencer in pain. whether it was seeing him cry, seeing him sick or just seeing him in some sort of pain made ellianna break. it was definitely her biggest weakness but it hadn't ever been a worry to think about because, until today, none of their unsubs had a personal connection to any of the team where they would know any of the agents' weaknesses in the way that peter knew what his niece's weakness was. so, peter then decided to use it against her by turning up the level of pain on all of the equipment which effectively made spencer start to thrash around in his seat, crying out for peter to stop.

the rest of her team were barely able to continue watching as peter turned up his dial on the equipment's power grid when they heard spencer's screeches for peter to stop. and the worst part of all was that penelope and the rest of the team were nowhere near close enough to finding where on god's green earth this abandoned warehouse was in downtown virginia.

"ellianna! peter, stop it! please, leave her alone! stop it now! you've done enough, you've hurt her enough! she's bleeding, peter! please, peter....put...put her down! you're hurting her!" spencer sobbed, the hot tears streaming down his face as he thrashed around in the restrains that were stopping him from saving her himself

"spence, please, it's okay! it doesn't hurt, i promise, i can't even feel a single thing!" ellianna attempted to comfort her devastated boyfriend as peter groaned, both his plans of inflicting the most pain on his niece and making her scream and cry weren't working so, that was when he decided he needed to go a step further and bring out the big guns

"is it bad that she can't feel it, hotch?" jj questioned, her tears that had pooled in the corner of her eyes now dousing her cheeks, her head turned from the screen to her unit chief, hotch not knowing how to respond

"i...i don't know jj but just trust ellianna. trust that she knows what she's doing," hotch gulped nervously, just hoping that his not-so full proof statement was correct and that one of his very much beloved agents was going to be safe - especially after he promised that he would keep her safe

however, hotch couldn't have been more wrong in his hope for ellianna to get out of this torture alive. everything had happened so quickly that it was as though the team and spencer had just blinked before they heard a gunshot ring through the warehouse. spencer's heartwrenching and guttural screams followed shortly after as he helplessly tried to free himself from his restraints to shoot peter.

from the time it had taken the rest of the team to find the banged-up industrial warehouse that spencer and ellianna had found peter johnson in, it felt like time had slowed down. because it felt as though spencer just blinked before one other shot rang out. morgan and prentiss had rushed in within seconds. morgan had delivered the shot that hit peter in the leg, not killing him only immobilising the elderly man so the arrest would be easier. prentiss then quickly rushed over to spencer to untie him from the seat, however, that only accomplished spencer collapsing to his knees, more gutwrenching sobs and screams leaving his mouth that had come from his gut as morgan quickly discovered that ellianna's pulse was gone and that she was deceased. peter had been killing his victims with a gun, not his torture equipment and he had done the very same thing to his niece after morgan and prentiss had stormed the building because he panicked and didn't want to be caught with his final victim still alive.

morgan bit his lip as he turned to spencer, "...she...she's dead, reid..." morgan whispered out, the taller man's body going slightly numb as he watched his best friend lose himself over the loss of his girlfriend

reinforcements, including the other members of the bau, excluding penelope, and the coroner had been called to the scene. david rossi and hotch rushed over to spencer, trying to convince him to stand up off the floor and get him to the safety of an awaiting ambulance to patch up the lesions on his wrists and ankles and the dried blood on his forehead from the mild concussion. usually, in a situation like this, spencer would be fighting tooth and nail to stay with his girlfriend, however, this time, he was way too weak to even scream anymore, let alone fight against his chief in command and senior officer as they carefully helped the grief-stricken boy walk out of the warehouse and to the ambulance.

whilst rossi and hotch coerced the broken spencer out of the warehouse, prentiss, jj and morgan had the awful task of having to turn each individual piece of torture equipment off and had to wait a couple of minutes so they wouldn't blow up themselves and the entire rusting building. finally, after they were sure that everything was turned off and no longer a danger to everyone, it was time they could release their best friend, their fellow agent ellianna johnson from the ceiling restraints as they couldn't entirely ignore the large gunshot wound that was right in the middle of her chest. however, it was obvious that even together, emily and jj were not physically strong enough to get ellianna down from the ceiling so, that was morgan's next job as he grabbed her safely and carried the girl to the medical examiner who then put her body into a body bag to be then transported to the coroner's office for an official autopsy to be taken. the task after that was to then make sure all of the injuries and causes of death are checked out. meaning, spencer alongside emily was assigned the job of visiting the coroner's office to make sure that ellianna's autopsy was done correctly and could be used as well-rounded evidence against her uncle, the vicious unsub that had finally, after thirty years of killing, had been caught.

"--what was the official cause of death, doctor?" emily finally asks after radio silence from the medical examiner and the two fbi agents, spencer trying to hold himself together, his tears burning the back of his eyes, emily keeping the close eye on her grieving best friend

"traumatic brain injury due to insistent trauma and the blood loss from the gunshot wound to her stomach. the tbi started the moment she got the first head knock and then the second one only made it worse. the ongoing trauma after the knock to the head only worsened the trauma which caused internal bleeding along with external bleeding from the back and front of her head as well as her stomach after the gunshot. she didn't feel anything because her body was in survivor mode and overcompensating with the adrenaline that would have been pumping through her veins as she traiged her pain and chose to prioritise her strength," the medical examiner, a 5'3 asian female spoke softly but professionally, emily nodding her head whilst spencer looked as if he was watching ghosts

"thank you, doc. would...could you excuse us, please?" emily was soft in her question as the examiner nodded her head, not hesitating for a moment to give the two fbi agents time alone

"of course," the examiner spoke softly and escorted herself out of the room

"thank you," emily spoke quietly, the examiner now out of the room leaving only emily, spencer and the deceased body of ellianna johnson that rested on the cold metal slab, her body covered with a white sheet that was covered with bloody splotches - on her head and stomach

grabbing a soft hold on spencer's hand, emily knew it was now time to focus on bringing some comfort to her devastated best friend.

"did you hear any of that?" emily's voice was soft, whilst heartbroken, showed strength and stability as a shaky breath left the young agent's mouth, his hand stuffed into the jacket that he had been wearing since getting checked over by the paramedics

"she wasn't in any pain, spence," emily knew telling spencer that his girlfriend didn't feel a thing as she died wasn't at all going to bring the boy genius any comfort but, she knew she had to repeat it to him

silence is what was returned to emily from spencer other than a single tear from the corner of his eye. it didn't stay there for long before it was dabbed away by a tissue that the young agent had been fiddling with in his jacket pocket the entire time. it wasn't long, though, until the single tear turned into so many tears that the singular, crumpled-up tissue wasn't enough and emily pulled the inconsolable spencer reid into her arms as he sobbed and wept into her shoulder. his crumpled-up tissue covering his face as he tried to conceal the noise his sobs were making. to have this moment in the medical examiner's office broke emily's heart, it caused her the most pain in her body that ellianna never made it out of that case alive like she had promised everyone she would. now, she wasn't alive to see her uncle get his just deserts in court and wouldn't have the opportunity to testify against him - that job now going to spencer. for he was the only other viable witness to peter's crimes, ellianna, his other one deceased.

derek's grief over ellianna's death was unusual. it hurt the tall, chocolate-toned, slightly older male more than he'd like to admit it hurt him. because that's the type of person derek was. he wasn't the biggest fan of showing his vulnerability so, as he grieved over the loss of his best friend, ssa ellianna johnson, he tried his absolute hardest to hide it like he always did. however, this time, it was different and, he wasn't able to be as discreet about his grief as he usually was. there were times that he would have trouble just looking at certain nooks and crannies around the bau building because so much of that building was ellianna and was too reminiscent of her. however, unlike the other team members, derek only openly cried thrice over the death of ellianna. the first time was at the funeral, of which he, himself was physically and consciously aware of his tearful reaction. the second time was during a small memorial that the entire bau building had hosted for the young agent, this was a moment that derek wasn't consciously aware of his tears, not until a tissue from penelope was offered to him did he realise he was even crying. the third and final time derek cried over ellianna's death was during the court date of peter johnson. this was the worst of the three times that derek had cried. he would have thought hearing spencer, three of dozens of peter's victims, ellianna's older and younger brothers and aaron hotchner say their witness statements wouldn't have affected him in any certain way but, they did. whilst the way that three of the dozens of victims of peter, hotch and ellianna's older and younger brothers were heartbreaking statements to listen to as they had them being said with peter in the courtroom, it wasn't until spencer's tearful statement which had the detailed way in which ellianna had been murdered was spoke through gutwrenching sobs that also got derek himself weeping silently as well. that, hearing spencer weep as he spoke of the way in which peter taunted and tortured his own blood relative, his own brother's daughter, was enough to bring derek to shed tears that had been held back for years. however, it seemed as if within a month or two, derek was starting to have his life continue somewhat normally. for, he no longer had teary eyes when he looked at ellianna's empty desk that was now a memorial for the girl at the bau.

𝚓𝚎𝚗𝚗𝚒𝚏𝚎𝚛 𝚓𝚊𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚞 (𝚓𝚓)

similar to derek, jj's grief over ellianna's death was strange. like everyone else's was as no grief is technically normal if it's really thought about. however, jj straight up denied that she was upset over ellianna's death. which caused so much in-team fighting and arguing. unlike derek, who finally did come forward and say he was struggling, jj did not. she tried so hard to push her grief to the back of her mind so she could take care of everyone else around her, spencer being her number one priority until he wasn't when emily told her that she could take care of him. which caused the fights because of her stubbornness and willingness to allow herself to properly grieve. everyone in the team and her own husband and sons could tell that jj was struggling but was refusing to open up and say that she wasn't actually as okay as she was making herself out to be. typically, every day, jj would either be spending time at the bau, outside of working hours, just calmly sitting crossed-legged in front of ellianna's desk that was now covered with photos and bits and bobs, where she knew she'd be alone and when she knew that if she did cry, she wouldn't get caught or before emily took over, she would be locked up in spencer and ellianna's house, trying her hardest to comfort an inconsolable spencer reid, hugging him as tightly as she could as he sobbed rivers upon rivers of tears, anguish, grief and despair over the loss of his girlfriend. until she couldn't any longer, she'd be the one to hold the tissue box for everyone if they needed it, she'd be the one to provide and initiate the hugs, she'd be the one (alongside spencer and then later emily) to check up on ellianna's family, her siblings most especially, and she would be the one that drowns herself in everyone's paperwork because those were all distractions.

these things were all distractions to stop jj from wallowing in her own painful grief that she was still so stubborn about admitting to everyone, but most especially to herself. however, it wasn't until her regular check-in call with her husband, will, that she finally admitted to her husband and herself (after trying to once again stubbornly deny it) that she really wasn't okay. as soon as that phone call to her husband was over and jj found herself unable to stop crying, that was when everyone turned in support for jj. showering her with the same love and comfort that she showered them in as emily told jj that she could now grieve as she (emily) took over all of jj's old jobs of taking care of spencer and ellianna's family until jj was able to stomach it all again.

𝚎𝚖𝚒𝚕𝚢 𝚙𝚛𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚒𝚜𝚜

emily was one that struggled with the loss of ellianna in a major way. the thing that hurt emily the most about the loss of ellianna was that the older girl still had so much more things left that she wanted to say to the young thirty-year-old that, she could no longer tell them to her. it broke emily's heart to pieces that the only thing she had left of the young girl who she saw as a younger sister was the photos, videos, text messages and voicemails that she shared and coowned with ellianna. it was times like this, times of immense grief, that emily just wished that she had eidetic memory as spencer did. she'd only wished that she had the eidetic memory so she could remember every single thing, small, medium and big, that she did with and alongside her best friend. all she wanted was just to remember the reason that she made ellianna laugh or smile on the fifth day of the sixth month one year ago because emily's biggest fear was forgetting everything about her best friend, ssa ellianna johnson. whilst it was known how well emily could hold back her tears and suppress her emotions, she could do it well especially when she took over jj's job of consoling spencer and ellianna's family. when it came to the loss and grieving process of ellianna, it seemed as if anything and everything about her best friend for a while made the older girl teary-eyed. one of the many things that would consume emily's time and grieving process when she wasn't visiting spencer or the rest of the johnson family, was to go back through her phone and look back at the photos, watch back those videos, read those text messages and listen to those voicemails left behind by ellianna. when emily was looking through her phone records to find her favourite voice message that ellianna had sent her, she hadn't realised that the morning before ellianna's death, she had a missed call from the young agent. that was just enough to tear open emily's heart and make her cry, however, it wasn't until her shaky finger pressed the play button to the voicemail and heard her best friend's voice again that really made the older agent cry more.

"hey em, it's just me, ellianna. i'm sorry if i've called you at the wrong time, which, i most likely have considering you didn't answer and we've just been called out to our case. thank god it's a local one, am i right? but, anyway, that's not the point, the point is that i just thought i'd ring you just in case something was to go pear-shaped and slightly wrong... umm, if peter does go off the rails and escalates and ends up killing me, please don't cry over me all the time. even though that sounds harsh, just know that i wouldn't have felt a single thing and i died with the biggest smile on my face because he didn't get the chance to hurt you guys or spencer let alone any other teenager or child. also, i just have one wish though in regards if my uncle does end up killing me. please, take care of yourself but, also take care of spence. if i get murdered, it'll absolutely knock him down for six and flip his whole world around on its head. please, make sure that he doesn't shut down and run away from everyone as he did after maeve. but, do let him cry for as long as he has to. but, also, promise that he'll start smiling again as i would love to see him be happy again. if he can find it within himself, i want to see him fall in love again, i want to see him get married and become a father. he deserves all the happiness in the world and, i know he felt his happiest when we were together and, i feel the same exact same way but, i seriously doubt i'll make it out of today's case alive and in all honesty, i'm okay with that..."

"...please don't cry over me for too long, okay emily? and, if you could play this voicemail to the rest of the team, i'd be most grateful. i love you guys all so much, and that is not a word of a lie. you guys gave me a purpose in this world and you guys gave me something i never thought was possible. being a part of the bau for the last ten years has brought me some of the happiest memories contrary to the horror and trauma we've seen and gone through, if i could repeat it and go back in time, i would do it all again if it meant i could spend more time with you guys. i love you all so much and, please, emily, never stop smiling... oh and, please, reconsider your resignation. i don't want you to leave, especially if it's after my death. this team will need you more than ever after i die if i die today, and, i wouldn't wish for you to resign so early when you've still got too much power and drive left in you. okay, uhh, i gotta go as spencer's giving me a look of "i need to hurry up"... so, umm, bye emily prentiss and to the rest of my beautiful, powerful family that is the behavioural analysis unit. i love you all so much, it's been a pleasure to be a part of this family, ellianna johnson,"

after hearing that voicemail, whilst it destroyed emily and the rest of the team to their cores, it also brought them loads of comfort and became the source of their comfort and roads to individual recovery - spencer's included. however, emily kept her best friend's promise and revoked her resignation and she decided to stay with the bau because it was the final wish of her best friend, ellianna johnson, supervisory special agent.

𝚍𝚛 𝚜𝚙𝚎𝚗𝚌𝚎𝚛 𝚛𝚎𝚒𝚍

it was quite obvious from the beginning as to who would be the most grief-stricken from ellianna's murder. the moment that ellianna sacrificed herself to save her boyfriend's life, spencer was terrified and already beginning to start in his grieving process. he knew he wouldn't be able to save her and that the rest of their team would be too slow in finding the warehouse in time to save them both and that devastated him the most with that being the main reason for his heightened grief and devastation. spencer drowned in grief for days that spanned over weeks and then months. over those months, he had cried tears that could have also been tears shed due to all of his other past traumas that had resurfaced after the death of his ultimate lover. whilst he appreciated the comfort that jj and then emily alongside the rest of the team supplied him with, nothing was going to bring him more comfort than ellianna being home, her shoulder being the shoulder he cried on, not jj's or emily's or anyone else's. no one else's shoulder brought spencer the same amount of comfort that his girlfriend's warmth and light gave him. in regards to crying, that meant that he was easily going through at least five kleenex boxes a day, maybe even six or seven if he was really crying a lot. the toughest part about ellianna's death wasn't the fact that wept his way through the entire funeral, barely able to stay on his own two feet without collapsing whilst he said the eulogy that he had written for her but, the court date for peter johnson's trial where spencer, amongst others from ellianna's family, his unit chief hotch, to some of peter johnson's survivors had taken to the witness stand and testify against the serial killer and prove evidence to why peter johnson should be jailed for the rest of his living, breathing days. that day was an absolute nightmare for the grieving boy wonder. he had never been so helpless, vulnerable and empty in his entire life until that moment. he had to tell the judge and the entire court from start to finish of ellianna's torture and murder because he was, other than peter himself, the only other witness to the serial murder that could testify against the elderly man, emily and jj who watched through the live feed had tried to coerce the judge into having either or both of them to testify but weren't allowed to because whilst they did witness it, they didn't see all of it as spencer had done. the sobs that left the doctor's mouth as he tried to get through his witness statement wracked his body as he tried as hard as he could to calm down to a state in which his speech could be understood clearly. which, when he did, it seemed just as unbearable for the judge and the fellow jury members to hear what had happened to the young ssa ellianna johnson without either feeling sick to their stomachs or bursting out into their own fits of tears.

by the time peter johnson's trial had finished and was successfully found guilty only after one hour of deliberation and sentenced to life imprisonment with the possibility of being placed on death row, it felt as though all the tears that dehydrated and exhausted spencer's body weren't cried for no reason. finally, after thirty years, ellianna had her family's last name no longer dragged through the mud because their serial killer uncle, son, brother and grandfather had now been placed behind bars forever where he was no longer capable of torturing and killing anyone else. the one positive of ellianna's death for spencer was the fact that her family and all the other families of the deceased and surviving victims were also finally given justice, peace and just a small slither of closure as to what happened to their loved ones that never got to come home like ellianna wasn't allowed to.

(breathes in) OKAY.......... you asked for it i shall deliver -- first thing's first, the insane thing I said about the story.

keep this in mind as i scream ok?

okay. so. Happier Than Ever'verse (or HTEverse) is my super long and big Yakuza AU fic that is like .... mostly canon compliant but based a lot in headcanons I've made or various metas I've read on tumblr. If you watched my Shimazama video, you'd know vaguely about this.

As a short sort of explanation of it though: Kazama and Shimano meet in 1969, go through (mostly) typical Yakuza-series-level drama and trauma, except neither of them deal with it particularly well. Yayoi, Sera, and Kashiwagi hang around the Japanese countryside in 1979, raising Daigo and hiding from assassins - probably to the chagrin of Sohei, although it's not like he'll ever know what happens. Flash-forward decades later, and (mainly) Haruka has to deal with the aftermath of her family falling apart, suddenly being brought back together, and learning about why the fuck things ended up the way they did in the first place.

NOW -- more in-depth explanations of the stories!!!!!!!!!!! (note: i wrote the plot blurbs as if they were on the back of a book so full names are used inexplicably.)

HAPPIER THAN EVER

Years: 1969 -> late 1970s

Plot blurb: In the early years of the Tojo Clan, Shintaro Kazama and Sohei Dojima meet Futoshi Shimano, a former Omi Alliance member who'd been sentenced to cage fighting for their profit after some kind of ambiguous incident that led to his expulsion and subsequent punishment. Soon, Kazama finds out that Shimano's induction into the clan comes with a lot more complications than he'd have ever thought -- including complications that begin to affect him fundamentally.

As a preemptive measure, Kazama sends a young Osamu Kashiwagi and a newly-involved Masaru Sera to keep her company and keep her and her son safe. As they are forced to hide their identities, keep low profiles, and raise Daigo together, they grow much closer than they had originally expected.

I think there's parallels between Kazama being held in high regard while still having a lot of ppl in the Tojo Clan think he's an asshole and Susanoo being considered a heroic figure while still doing really asshole-y things

The Evolution of Heat Wave’s Origins

Today, I’d like to talk about Mick Rory, aka Heat Wave, and more specifically about his origins and his motivation.

Now, DC Comics are incredibly notoriously known for their retcons, particularly for their unnecessary retcons of changing characters’ origin stories.

But Mick’s retcon rubs me so much the wrong way because it essentially makes him a whole different character. Erases his core-personality and replaces it with empty cruelty.

(The Flash Vol 1 #140 The Heat is On For Captain Cold, 1963)

Above the very first appearance of Heat Wave in the comics and his first version of an origin story. He was a fire-eater who got bored with his job and turned to crime for “private reasons”.

The private reasons, given in this issue, are a woman. The very same woman Len was also trying to impress with his crime-spree that issue. And so their rivalry was born; not from the heat v cold of their natures, but because they both have the same taste in women and the same approach to trying to woo them.

(Secret Origins Vol 2 #41, A Rogue by Any Other Name, 1989)

The next thing we learn about Mick is why he became a fire-eater in the first place.

As a child, he went exploring in a butchery and accidentally got locked into the freezer. The cold traumatized him and ever since, he came to despise it and to seek heat and warmth, particularly in the form of fire.

I like this addition, because it contrasts Lenny even more - Leonard became Captain Cold and became obsessed with the cold, because his father was abusive toward him and his sister, but his grandfather was a good man, who delivered frozen goods, and the afternoons of escaping his abusive home and riding along to deliveries with his grandpa are some of the only positive memories of his childhood that Lenny has. To Leonard Snart, the cold is associated with safety and with happiness.

And to Mick Rory, the cold became something awful he tried to avoid, something he could never really shake off. Beautiful contrast in their origin stories, I just love when two characters really are a perfect foil for each other in such a complimenting manner.

And that was it. For forty years, Mick Rory’s backstory was just that he was a fire-eater who became a criminal to impress a girl, a man obsessed with heat because he feared the cold. A man who gave up crime rather early to instead become an upstanding citizen, dedicating his life to helping fire fighters and to fighting fire himself. Which was also a testament to his intelligence; this man came up with brilliant inventions that made fire fighting quicker, easier and safer.

And then came Geoff Johns and that man fucked Mick Rory over so hard, his Mick Rory just has nothing to do with the original character anymore and it infuriates me.

So Mick now heated the cold since he was a little boy, just for reasons I guess. And he was obsessed with fire. To the point of just... starting one, in his family home, while his entire family was inside the house and he stood outside watching them burn alive. For absolutely no reason at all.

See, you can make him a pyromaniac. It makes sense with his theme of fire. He was never a pyromaniac before - seeing as his obsession was more with warmth, or how he dedicated his life to putting out fires after giving up crimes.

But to just make him a cold-blooded killer. He’s a young boy. But he kills his entire family - not abusive, by the way. The page before that, he even says how much he loved their farm and life there and that his family were good people. But he kills them all, just because Johns has to be edgy, I guess.

And it does Mick such a huge disservice. Mick was never a cold-blooded killer. Forty years of character history, twenty+ of those years dedicated to doing good, and Johns sets it all back and turns Mick into someone who’s just... obsessed with fire and doesn’t mind killing people.

The meat-locker story comes after this. After he killed his family. When it’s just entirely unnecessary anymore, seeing as being locked into a freezer was the reason for his obsession with warmth and fire. But it still happens. This time, not as an accident either, but a prank from a classmate. And kid!Mick kills that kid and the kid’s entire family in revenge too.

He also still becomes a fire-eater before he turns to crime. But his obsession with fire is still so bad, he burns the entire circus and the people who had become family to him, down with it.

He had a good life at the circus, even had a girl. But he kills her and everyone else. Just because.

No. No, Mick Rory did not just kill without a care!! That was the special thing about him! He was the Rogue with the biggest conscience, damn it! Out of all the Rogues, he was the first one to reform, he felt the most guilty for those things he had done, he had never just killed for fun, even as Heat Wave, he hadn’t been a cold-blooded killer!

But Johns decided to make him a cold-blooded killer as a little boy already.

And basically reduce adult!Mick entirely to being a cold-blooded killer. He’s all glares and grunts and “fire pretty”.

The love-sick puppy of a man who became a criminal to impress a lady and who worked so hard to fight fires after he’d been redeemed is now just a pyromaniac obsessed with burning things, and people, down.

And it’s just so unnecessarily brutal and edgy.

It’s such a bad retcon. It’s also so lazy - making the guy with the fire-theme obsessed with burning things down, when before, it had just been him utilizing a skill he already had to make a name for himself. The character of Mick Rory was very gray, he had layers, he had morals, he had depth and now he’s just the fire-dude who likes to kill.

🎯 -What do they do best?

(I'll include a few word introductions of the blorbos here too, gives the answers just a little bit of context)

Todenmukaisuus (or Tomu for short, since her name is so. fucking. long. Fun fact: her name would directly translate to Veracity!) is my current D&D character and main blorbo, a light-hearted tiefling rogue running from her past and trying to make friends with everyone she meets. Tomu would love to claim that she is an excellent liar, swindler and snake oil salesman, very good at persuading people to pay money for things they definitely should not buy - but she isn't half as good a liar as she wants to be. Yes, she's very good at crafting her fake potions and forging papers, but the moment she tries to cook up a good hoax in practice she ends up being way out of her depth. Her actual talents are in the crafting bits. (Like, don't get me wrong, she actually should be very good with the lying too, she definitely has the stats and skills required for it - she just can't for the life of her roll any good when she attempts deception.)

Glimmer, my precious, my favourite, my literal ray of sunshine, is a tiefling cleric of the Dawnfather Pelor, devout in her worship of powers of light and good. Glimmer is a healer in both physical and spiritual sense. She knows how to treat a wound, be it with magic or stitches, and while she's patching you up she's going to do her best to get your mind at ease, too. Whatever worries you, she'll make sure it's not your problem anymore - whatever you've done is more than enough, you are enough, you are loved, she loves you. And whatever it was that worried you, those are now Her worries, her burdens to bear. She's way too good at taking responsibility in things she can't change, and exceptionally good at worrying about stuff.

Lila is a young half-elf with a newly found sorcerous talent and a found family consisting of a major criminal organization. Currently deeply involved in a war between said organization's different factions. Lila has a natural affinity to magic that mainly has to do with death and undeath. She is a trained liar and manipulator, as well as a thief and smuggler. I'd still consider her true talent to be Following Orders. She will do anything and everything her criminal family requires her to do, and no matter how hard the task, she will keep going at it until she finds a way to succeed. Left at her own devices, she will usually either freeze or do something extremely stupid, but when someone else is there planning things and giving orders she really shines at executing the plans.

Aalo is my character in our Vampire: the Masquerade campaign! She's a professional art photographer and hobbyist ghost hunter, and these days also a horrifying undead abomination vampire, plagued by prophetic visions and unpleasant hallucinations. Aalo has spent her entire life studying all things paranormal and occult, and her strongest skillsets lie in using that knowledge to her benefit. She's also useful to have around for some light breaking and entering, but other than that? She is actually kind of useless, I love me a pathetic woman :D

❤️ - What is one of your OC’s best memories?

Todenmukaisuus' favourite memory is actually a fairly recent one! (Mainly because the good memories of her past are now shaded by feelings of heartbreak and betrayal - the wonderful memories of hangout sessions with your best friend aren't as wonderful after you've realized the horrifying amounts of abuse and gaslighting that same friend subjected you to). But even ignoring that, the enchanted bubble bath shared with a whole bunch of new friends would've made the list of Tomu's best memories. Her party had just arrived to a new city, one that she'd wanted to see for ages, and were staying for the night in a Super Cool Wizard Tower with a Super Cool Wizard living in it. Attached to their room was a small bathroom with a bathtub enchanted to always stay warm, with fresh water constantly pouring in in a gentle stream. The walls were covered with shelves filled with dozens of little bottles of perfumes and soaps and bubble solutions, all of them of delightful and exotic smells and colors. After weeks on the road and months running from her past, that kind of luxury in itself was a dream come true! But the most important thing was that there, crammed into a one-person bathtub with two other people, playing with the floating bubbles and laughing and play-fighting, Tomu felt really and truly safe and happy for the first time in gods know how long. At that moment she realized she wasn't traveling with these people because of some duty or debt or even convenience, but because she Actually Liked them. They were Her people, and this was Her city, and everything was going to be okay after all.

One of Glimmer's fondest memories is from a time she was very young, so it's more of a series of brief recollections and feelings than an actual scene. She was maybe six?, seven? at the time, spending her time learning how to read. It was a particularly beautiful day, so her teacher took their lessons to a nearby park, where she could study sitting under a great oak tree. Glimmer remembers the warm sun on her skin, the sounds of birds, the painstaking process of slowly turning the symbols on paper into spoken syllables and words; a deep sigh after a challenging sentence, a laugh, her hand brushing the soft green grass; her fingers finding a four-leaf clover and picking it up; her teacher agreeing to save the lucky clover between the pages of a book; the feeling of having a mutual secret and the spark of friendship forming between the teacher and the student. Glimmer still carries the dried clover with her in her adventures, as a personal treasure from her past.

Oh, Lila gave me the hardest time with this one! She vehemently refuses to pick a single memory among many happy ones - the good times before the Bad Stuff Happening were good, that's the end of it. No need to dwell on memories when there's things to fix in the present.

The absolute highlight of Aalo's life and undeath was her first art gallery exhibit. The rush of seeing her works on someone else's walls, the same works that were so often described as off-putting or unnecessarily macabre, and seeing people actually Looking at them, interested in them. Interested in what she had to say with her art. Appreciating her vision. She never quite figured out the right words to describe her feelings at that time, but nonetheless she's been chasing those same feelings over and over again ever since.

🥊 -What do they love to do? What do they hate to do?

Todenmukaisuus loves encountering anything New and Interesting and Exciting, be it a new person or item or activity. She loves traveling to places she hasn't yet seen, loves getting swept up into unexpected adventures, and loves spending her money on useless but beautiful gifts for her friends. She absolutely fucking hates touching anything dirty or gross or otherwise icky (unless it's some poisonous substance you can squeeze out of a defeated monster, then it loops right back into the 'interesting new things' category, for some reason).

Glimmer enjoys the simple things in life. Baking fresh bread, sitting down with a cup of tea after a day's hard work, finding some peace and quiet in meditation. And, altough she might not readily admit it, she really loves casting Fireballs. What's not to love in a big fiery boom! She hates spending prolonged times outside of daylight, and talking to pompous people in positions of power.

Lila loves to drink expensive wine in good company (or cheap wine in Really Good company), she loves going out to all the super fancy places and behaving like a real and proper upper class girl would, but more than anything she loves getting into dumb and completely avoidable trouble, going 'yes and' to bad ideas until she's horribly tangled in a very bad scenario, and then desperately wriggling her way out of it. She hates having to make actual Important Decisions without someone telling her what to do.

Aalo's favourite activity in the whole wide world is to uncover secrets, dig up dirt on people, and solve mysteries, especially of the supernatural kind. She also deeply loves photography, including every step of the process from planning elaborate ideas and weird technical tricks to actually developing the film. She hates staying still and spending her nights alone.
