Not like when were they attracted or had a spark but when did they first, in your mind fall IN LOVE. Platonic, romantic, any form. When did their connection become deep enough that you consider it Love?
Your choice whether you count from when they're Both in love or just one of them, if you think those are different times.
(PS this is just a silly little poll, be nice even if you disagree <3 also tell me your reasoning in the tags!)

Since I just rewatched 4x14 "Sex and Violence" let me revisit a few things. I really really like this ep, it's darkly psychological and it's a great ep on Sam and Dean's relationship, as well as having bi Dean subtext.
The first victim murders his wife
The second victim murders his mother
The third victim, Dean, the siren tries to goad into killing his brother
So the siren manipulates some people into harming a romantic partner, or manipulates them into harming a family member, a platonic bond. The siren gets off on the violence, the power, of driving someone to that extreme.
Sam and Dean are on different paths this season. Dean misses his brother and he's lonely. They're drifting apart, mistrust is growing between the brothers. The siren takes a male form, FBI agent Nick, to entice Dean. To give him someone who is like-a-brother. But Nick isn't like Sam. Nick is a lot like Dean. He's excited about the Impala, he's knowledgeable on classic rock, he laughs at Dean's jokes. Nick is the siren purposefully honing in on the loneliness in Dean, but in so doing, creates someone who is sort of like a brother but isn't Dean's brother. They aren't brothers. What the siren is playing upon is Dean's wish for a companion who understands him, who he can connect with, and it doesn't have to be his brother.
"I gave him what he wanted and it wasn't some b*tch in a g-string, it was you" is the text. Textually, Nick is using Dean's loneliness due to his slowly growing estrangement from Sam, and giving him a substitute for that.
Nick, along with being a companion, is a potential romantic and sexual partner, which a brother wouldn't be. Those scenes with Nick and Dean in the car...for one thing the siren innately operates in a seductive way and that actor really seems to be leaning into that, and Dean is...Deaning the way he sometimes does with men he's not related to. The way they're looking at each other in the car scene. This is the subtext.
And it's so weird to me that people get attacked or mocked or have had hate threads made about them on twitter dot com just for analyzing all this (I've been trolled for it, other bi Dean fans could probably tell similar horror stories). Even recently, I know it's still been going on -- a few weeks back, some bitter Sam stan tried to claim that if you let in the subtext on bi Dean, that must mean that you are validating w*ncest and that's just not how this works.
In fact it can be both about the platonic sibling bond, and bi Dean subtext (with Dean/Nick as the unspoken potential). The episode is mainly, and most overtly, about the brothers and their strained bond and how the siren preys on that. And I have a lot of feelings about Sam and Dean in this episode. It hurts. It's poignant. That is a platonic bond on the series and one that I really love. At the same time, the bi Dean subtext, the dynamic he has with Nick, the actual seduction siren Nick is playing on Dean, can co-exist with the brothers and their sibling bond troubles. Sam is not a potential romantic or sexual partner for Dean. Nick is. And yes that can be a layer, it's called subtext, while it is ostensibly about Nick filling that loneliness in Dean because Sam and Dean are drifting apart.
We also need to put this in context of the season. This ep isn't about Dean and Cas, but it is in S4 and falls at a time when Dean is drawn to a male companion--an angel, who is not related to him. Who gets him in ways nobody else Dean knows does. An unexpected kindred spirit where Dean never expected to find that. Cas isn't like Nick, Cas is weird, and he doesn't know pop culture and he doesn't know music and he doesn't care about classic cars like Nick does. Nick is an illusion, a seduction, the siren creates The Perfect Person for Dean to get close to. Cas, otoh, is the real deal. He's authentic. The connection between them isn't a seduction, it's Cas being Cas, Dean being Dean, and Cas goes against his orders from Heaven due to his growing attachment to Dean. Cas is making Dean feel a whole lot less lonely in S4 where Dean and Sam are drifting apart and Sam is wading into dangerous waters and isn't listening to Dean. So Sex and Violence isn't about Destiel, but Sex and Violence, Dean and Nick, exist not only in the context of Sam and Dean's relationship, but what's forming between Dean and Cas as well (even if Sam and Dean are obviously most directly relevant as the context).
Scrubbing all that out, and trolling and mocking anyone for unpacking it and making their case for the bi Dean subtext is really weird and it's anti-art and it's anti-interpretation. There's nothing wrong with saying "huh, that's an interesting take, hadn't thought of that. Not sure I see it, but carry on *shrug*" and move on.
Instead, for years, there are stans who attacked subtext and attack analysis of subtext, who laugh at it and call people insane, and are still doing it recently.
This analysis of Sex and Violence is old news, but I hope my revisiting maybe adds something to the discussion of this ep. bi Dean discussion is still going on to this day about it and so is the trolling, and I refuse to be silenced on perfectly reasonable subtextual analysis because some people feel a need to throw immature tantrums. It's utterly unhinged, in a bad way, that some people have been so aggressive about actively trying to silence discussion of bi Dean in Sex and Violence.

THE BEAR S3 Predictions
Just a mental note I'm putting out here to be able to revisit it when the time comes to check its level of accuracy. I have the feeling that S3 is going to be the season of the reconciliations.
The relationship between Richie and Carmy is completely broken after the walk-in incident and Richie walks from The Bear. He happens to get some kinda job offer and accepts it just to prove Carmy wrong. They will later spend a good portion of S3 trying to repair their bond. By the end of S3 (hopefully sooner) there should be a reconciliation of some sort between them and Richie should go back to The Bear.
Nat gives birth to her new "cub" and this brings the family together. There is a reconciliation with Donna, which in some capacity benefits not only the siblings but the entire team, the restaurant as a whole. Not exactly sure how this will play out, but Donna will quit being this negative and toxic influence on everyone. Maybe she gets clean because she takes this baby as a new chance to start over and be a better grandmother than the mother she was. IDK...
Marcus' mother dies and this juxtaposition of new beginnings, births, endings, death, etc is going to be a theme throughout the whole season, that is why I actually think this funeral will be the opener.
There will be some kinda flashback episode, like 7 Fishes or a montage of some memory that has a huge impact on one or more characters. I have my $ put on the Sundays, Mr. Adamu and lil Syd would spend at Mr. Beef's. I strongly disagree with the weak argument that just because the Berzattos are catholic, their restaurant didn't open on Sundays. The gastronomic industry cares very little about those traditions especially if the place is struggling. I bet they were open every Sunday part-time, just for lunch, to get all the demand of those who went to church just because business-wise it makes total sense.
Carmen will apologize to Claire. Not sure what she's gonna make of that apology, whether she's gonna accept it or not, I hope she doesn't. I'm pretty sure there will be no reconciliation here. I don't necessarily oppose Carmy having a romantic partner and as much as I ship SydCarmy like nobody's business, I'm 100% sure they are not gonna happen any time soon. Maybe and this is a HUGE maybe, they could be the perfect cliffhanger for S4. But that would be a stretch. Not that Store & Calo couldn't pull it off, but still. So, basically, I am all for a new love interest being presented to Carmen just to see how he responds to it. After Claire he should go back to his old lone-wolf ways, I need to test that behavioral theory though, so I need a new female character to do it.
Last, but certainly not least, Miss Adamu needs her man and I'm not talking about Bear. I want to know more about Sydney's past and see her letting her hair down, putting her records on, and all that jazz. So, maybe an old flame can re-appear in her life and they can try to "reconcile". This reconciliation shouldn't work either because she's now devoted to making The Bear work and is basically a workaholic and both, Carmy & her get into this synch of type As on Speed and Red Bull, non-stop working machines, well-oiled now that they had already learned from their mistakes and The Bear succeeds but Sydney's relationship with her guy from the past fails, again. The guy feels like a 3rd wheel and lets her know that she's not in a relationship with him but with her job. Sydney understands the subtext, and this break-up is actually a wake-up call for her. She starts seeing what we all shippers are already seeing. It's not just about work for her. Yes, The Bears are too absorbing and demanding, both, the restaurant and the chef, but she doesn't mind. She loves it. Love is the operative word here. This realization should hit her hard by the end of the season.
The background of all the things I just mentioned above will be the BOH, fast-paced, chaotic, and working like a Swiss clock, just like Carmy likes it.
Am I missing something? Probably. Can't wait to find out.
Bonus tracks: I am pretty sure the wedding will either be Teff's or Fak's.
And lastly: When Sydcarmy happens, it will "officially" start with something small and inane like Syd accidentally finding out Carm has been drawing portraits of her all along... CHECK THIS OUT, I think Storer & Calo have something like this in mind or along these lines, and it should come along in S3, minus the sex part.

what i think the marauders favourite tv show would be - based on my favs :)
james - stranger things. he’d watch it because everyone was raving about it and then become emotionally invested in the characters. he thinks the concept of the monsters is really cool but also very terrifying. he’d definitely make everyone else watch it too, and he’d be mouthing along the lines while they did. his favourite character would be steve harrington, because i think they’re pretty similar. the episode he’d like the most would be s4 ep6.
regulus - the rain on netflix. it’s a kinda disturbing show about an apocalyptic world where the rain literally kills you if it touches you and there’s a whole thing with sibling betrayal and i just feel like he’d eat it up. his favourite character would be lea or kira. he would really love dystopian and apocalyptic shows in general tbh. his favourite episode would be the cult one, because it explores religion in an apocalyptic world.
sirius - greys anatomy. i’ve said this before but he would secretly LOVE greys, even if he won’t admit it. his favourite character is addison montgomery, closely followed by mark sloan. the episode he likes the most is the musical episode but if you ask him, he hates it. also he would so do the superhero pose amelia shepherd does before her surgeries before he does anything important.
remus - the society. it’s a dark, weird and kinda obscure show that only had one season because of covid but he’d love it. he’d bring it up in conversation with everyone and ask them what they’d do if all adults suddenly disappeared, which would obviously have varying responses. he’d complain about not getting a satisfying ending to it all the time. his favourite character is sam or kelly definitely. he can’t choose a favourite episode because literally so much happens in every one.
lily - the good place. i’ve also said this before, but i just genuinely think she’d love it. it’s a show that she would watch while knitting or studying, because it’s easy to follow and funny. she’d definitely quote it a lot and it’d create some great & healthy conversations between the marauders about mortality, morals and death. her favourite character is janet!
pandora - a series of unfortunate events. she’d love this show wholeheartedly. it’s so messy and reminds her of the odd things that seem to keep happening to her. she’d know the “that’s not how the story goes” song and sing it all the time, though she’d change the lyrics to fit whatever situation or drama is going on. her favourite character is sunny, and she started wearing more bows in her hair because of violet! her favourite episode would be s2 ep3!
mary - desperate housewives. she would love the drama, the betrayals and the overall storylines. she’d know every little thing about it, from all the names of lynette’s children to mrs mccluskey’s backstory. her favourite character is gabby solis and she will take no criticism. her favourite episode is the one where carlos’ mum falls down the stairs.
marlene - glee. i genuinely believe she’d know every single big song and wouldn’t stop singing them. you hear “Don’t Stop Belivin’” being sung (badly) in the hallway? it’s marlene. her favourite character is santana lopez and she knows the entire monologue that she says to kurt in season 6. she constantly complains about this show but really does love it. her favourite episode is the klaine & brittana wedding!
dorcas - heartbreak high! she’d love the petty drama and storylines that happen in this show, and she’d so create her own “map” but put concealment charms on it because unlike harper and amerie she’s smart enough not to get caught. her favourite character would be ca$h or harper, and the episode she likes the most would be ep4.
barty - how to sell drugs online (fast)! this show is so hilarious and i really think he’d enjoy it. he’d smell the plot twists coming a mile away but he’d still love it, and probably make evan watch it with him. his favourite character is moritz because he’s just such an idiot and he sort of reminds him of himself, though i feel like he’d love lisa too. he would say that he doesn’t have a favourite episode because he loved it all.
evan - the umbrella academy. he would compare the dysfunctional family to the marauders nonstop. he’d love the way it explores time travel and superpowers, and would spend hours in the library researching if it was possible because he’d get hyper fixated on it of course. his favourite character is klaus (no surprise there lol) and he literally cried during that one episode in season 3. his favourite episode is the first ever one.
(as always, these are my own opinions!! i’ve personally watched all these shows and love them all very much!! this took a while to make but we move who needs a sleep schedule anyway. )

SEASON EIGHT FINAL TAKES
LIKES
- KEVIN. <3. my beloved. he deserves so much better.
- crowley main villain would be so good if they utilised him consistently….
- trials would have been so insanely good if they’d been throughout the whole season instead of in like. The last 5 episodes.
- its nice that sam got to be happy with a girlfriend and a dog for a little bit before he was inevitably dragged back into toxic codependency w dean
- meg!
- dean is a dick in a way that gradually becomes interesting
- brainwashed cas is a cool concept!!
- i finally started actually going hard for destiel 8x17 was crazy…. i need you….
in short all the concepts this season were cool and interesting
DISLIKES
- killed meg :( just as i was starting to really like her
- dean is a dick
- sam has like no arc until the trials (why the fuck do the trials start so late nothing happens)
- benny. i’m sorry. i had zero interest in his entire character. they picked the wrong time to introduce him because by the end id warmed to him a little because dean had stopped annoying me quite so much and i could appreciate how fucking gay they were. but like. how could i want to see dean’s stupid macho vampire boyfriend at the start of s8 after he kept yelling at sam for trying to heal and break the cycle and move on. i didn’t even want to see dean
- purgatory was fucking boring. that’s not what purgatory is. go read the bible
- as always, cas pops in and out of the season, only showing up for good episodes and skipping the bad ones, which is a shame, because bad episodes would’ve been vastly improved by cas
execution of everything was awful. first half was just so mediocre. spent the whole time waiting for the trials. Trials were great though! finale stretch was really good which i think means i’ve put it over s6
rankings for me personally rn
s4 > s5 > s3 > s1 > s7 > s2 > s8 > s6
s2 is much better than s7 but s7 means the world to me so it has to be higher sorry. (I liked s7 a lot!). s5 is also better than s4 but s4 is when i first became a true samgirl so it is beloved to me

Do you have any supernatural fic recs?
ANON. i have been waiting since 2019 for someone to ask me this. prepare to regret this decision (FYI: i'm taking all these recs & following notes from my public bookmarks on ao3, which you can find here. i'm cutting the notes short, so if u don't mind spoiler-y drawn-out comments, check that out too if u want!)
deancas focused:
A Reasonable Amount of Trouble by xylodemon -> an spn au where dean is a p.i. and a hunter on the side, cas is still an angel, and they get caught up in a plot that's a mix of seasons 4, 6, 8, and 9. this was my introduction to spn and deancas. the characterization is flawless and the prose is beautiful (very cs pacat-esque). the plot is crafted with close attention to detail and the pacing is perfect
the point of our being by noviembre -> a post-s15 fix-it that takes place immediately after the penultimate episode. noviembre is undoubtedly my favorite spn writer of all time. one of the best dean voices i've ever come across. this ties up the narrative threads into a beautiful, sound, satisfying ending, and both destiel & saileen survive. despite the odds, they're happy.
i projected onto dean winchester when i was twelve years old and now im making it your problem by alittleduck (amidsizedfrog) -> another post-finale fix it. and, to date, the funniest thing i've ever read. every fic in this series has a good balance between scenes that make u laugh so hard u hurt ur throat and Scenes That Make You Want To Gurgle Cement.
So Says The Sword by komodobits -> a s4 au and a fandom classic for a reason. if u haven't read this, i'm of the firm belief it's best to go in as blind as possible. but definitely keep this verse in the back of ur mind while reading: "Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father" (matthew 10:29)
sir this is a wendy's by noviembre -> yall remember when misha collins said that a modern au deancas would be like if a wendy's janitor and the president of the usa fell in love? well noviembre took that seriously and now we're here. and u should all be thankful bc it's somehow the single funniest and most romantic thing i've ever read
the pie isn’t a metaphor (it’s just pie) by noviembre -> post-finale s15 domestic deancas fic that's the emotional equivalent of drinking tea and lying under a warm weighted blanket. it makes me so happy and i think abt it every time i eat a pastry. i just sit there chewing like “dean and cas are eating fresh pie in their kitchen” and it puts a smile on my face.
Muscle Memory by komodobits -> a "50 first dates" au that i think abt every single day. i'm not joking. it's so sad and touching and sweet and unexpectedly funny, and no one writes deancas like komodobits. it just FEELS so them and i'm obsessed w it.
Strandlines by aeli_kindara -> au where s4 cas meets stanford-era dean. dean's voice and characterization is incredibly in-character with the early seasons and his voice doesn't falter once. and of course castiel! robotic s4 cas with this tremendous power and this fierce yet wavering loyalty to heaven that eventually focuses solely on dean! likewise, his character is spot-on and i enjoyed reading from his pov immensely.
[podfic] right hand on his rife, swore it on the bible by be_brave13 for quensty, floorsirens -> u can't possibly expect me NOT to include this. YES my friend and i wrote the fic but be_brave13's love and appreciation for it makes it feel like a completely separate work. my favorite podfic (and gift) of all time so i implore u to give it a listen.
something suddenly everywhere by noviembre -> the finest post-s15 fix-it of all time. cas is in the empty, they've defeated god, jack is gone, and all that's left is sam, eileen, dean, a bunker, and trying to move on. i know i already said that but this is the same author so it still counts! i cried, i laughed, i grieved, i jumped from excitement. it's a rollercoaster of emotions. it should be put behind a velvet rope at a museum so we can all gather around and clap.
To Boldly Go by 8daysuntiltheapocalypseiguess -> au where dean writes star trek fanfiction. it follows him from the beginning of the show to the older seasons and is told entirely thru his fic summaries, reader commentary, and livejournal dms. warning that it is unfinished, but it's a masterpiece
saileen focused:
Loveletter (Dear Eileen) by voynichs (Xenerik) -> a short and beautiful meditation about love and eileen from sam's pov. it's only 300 words but it feels like 15k. definitely at the top of my fave saileen fics of all time. when i first read it i stayed up until 2 am crying abt it
Livin' on a Prayer by Dredfulhapiness -> EILEEN MEETING EARLY SEASONS DEAN AND SAM I'M SCREAMING. do u understand how this could've changed the timeline but, more importantly, me as a person. eileen there when dean and sam were trying to find a way out of the deal, there when everything happened with ruby, there for dean's resurrection, there before they met cas, there after sam dies and dean retires and cas goes m.i.a. and DEALING with the aftermath of a foiled apocolypse. everyone hates the winchesters but the winchesters are gone and all that's left is eileen to deal with the brunt of it.
With Hands Clasped by Xenerik -> a handful of snippets from the eileen wedding that explores gender and religion and love so beautifully. i haven't been able to read it completely yet, but i can tell this is going to be another saileen fave.
other pairings/no pairings
The Love Story of the Runner Up by Margo_Kim -> told from the perspective of a guy cas had a brief affair with as a semi-drunken story he tells a friend in a bar. it's technically deancas but since cas's relationship with another man takes main focus, i elected to put it here.
Ten Years by Margo_Kim -> a bela talbot character study and the best i've been able to find, no contest. *rowena voice* good girls are pathetic here's to evil skanks <3
The Archangel Gabriel Is Dead by seizethefire -> fics that have half a million kudos in my mind. it's about how and why rafael comes to think that god is dead. it expertly explores the familial relationship between gabriel, lucifer, michael, and rafael. it's devastating and beautiful in equal measure. definitely a personal favorite and one i think everyone should read
put them in a box somewhere by amidsizedfrog -> a mary & dean fic told from mary's pov from before she died. a gut-wrenching story about performative/toxic masculinity and internalized homophobia and mothers.
lastly, if ur interested, i also write spn fic >:) which u can find by clicking here. happy reading!

They really didn't do enough with the sam seeing visions and thinking that they're from God, when really they're from Lucifer plotline in s11, because holy crap that was good. There is something that is just so devastatingly fascinating about sam, desperate to believe in a force greater than himself, and for that force of divine intervention and purity to have chosen him. Then to have these visions show him his deepest and most central traumatic wound, to lead him back towards this suffering. Oh the TURMOIL.
Sam has always craved purity - he has always wanted desperately to belong, to be pure like everyone else. The little kid who thought he could never go on a holy quest because he wasn't clean enough, who went on to find out about the demon blood fed to him when he was an infant and thinking this is the puzzle piece he was missing - this is the answer to why he feels the way he does - he is impure and wretched on a biological level. He is filled with self-doubt in s1-2 as to his powers and what this means for him, clawing at faith (faith in Dean and their policy of saving people as much as faith in a religious sense) to feel stabalised. He is frustrated and angry in s4 at this demon blood in him, the fact that there is something innately evil in him that he can never 'rip out' or 'scrub clean'. Then by the time s8 rolls around he LEAPS at the chance to purify himself. Yeah, cause that's healthy. All of this is to say that when sam gets his first vision after praying in the hospital chapel, he wants so desperately to believe that it is God who has looked down on him and thought him worthy. That, for once, the divine have been the ones to put their faith in him, not the devil.
And then the reveal. It was never God. It was never something holy.
Evil has kept its claws in him since he was six months old and he will never be clean of it. It was the devil all along. This realisation is crushing and I will never get over Sam's face as he realises, wide eyed with shock and horror as a tears spills out of his eye. Devastating.
But yet the deep seeded horror of this plotline is so underexplored. Like, call me biased but I would have really stretched this idea out a few more episodes at LEAST. Place more emphasis on this moral conundrum between wanting to have faith and yet this faith asking you to do something no person should ever go through.
In fact, I loved the first few episodes of s11, they had me on the edge of my seat. The black veined virus thing?? Amazing - I want more. It would have been cool to have seen this be a continuous thing across the whole season. Like if the season slowly devolved into this kind of wrought post-apocalyptic thing. Ik that probably wouldn't work but I would have loved to see it. And creepy baby Amara and that exorcism stuff - so cool. Anyway, this post is kind of a mess, but I just loved how s11 started; the darker tone, the boys completely out of their depth, the idea of this biblical plague that makes people 'unclean, in the biblical sense' - super fun ideas. It's not that I didn't like where s11 ended up, but I just feel like at some point the tone completely changed and it just got a bit... goofy. I blame Lucifer, mainly (and chuck). Every scene with Lucifer and Sam I was pulling my hair out cause WHY IS SAM SO CALM?? This guy literally tortured him for centuries and had him so dreadfully freaked out at the start of the season and now its like yeah whatever. And it's not like I expected it to take centre stage or anything but in theory, the idea that the Winchester's bestest bestie Cas is possessed by Lucifer, who they actually now need to stop Amara should have been some crazy psycho horror shit. Sam should have been seeing Lucifer's mannerisms like second nature, thinking he's going crazy. Dean should be worried that Sam's is going off his rocker and yet also feeling something so fundamentally off with Cas. But they just didn't feel the need to delve into that whatsoever I guess.
Anyway, I just wanted to say that I really loved the ideas, particularly surrounding Sam, that were going on at the start of s11. I think using this as a springboard would have been a really interesting exploration of character for him, and Dean too as he is forced to confront how Sam's relationship with faith and purity differs from his own, and then ultimately a revaluation of the way he sees him. I mean, he wasn't exactly supportive once he found out Sam having demon blood had some side effects. Even when he didn't know about Sam drinking demon blood or Ruby, even when Sam was truly just saving people he called him a monster, told him that if he didn't know him, he's want to hunt him. Crazy times.

Disclaimer before you continue.
I am going to be mentioning some things that may condradict a few oneshots I have made in the past but that was years ago and these are my real views on these characters.
Also I'm a writer so I write what my readers want to see though it isn't my favorite thing bc I only find writing enjoyable because I'm writing about what I like.
Also I wanted to publish this on Bisexuality day of Pride Month but I just couldn't wait😅 So early celebrations💖💜💙
With that said please comment your own thoughts and opinions!
Okay, so to begin.
There is a big difference between Sam and Dean when it comes to their sexualities. As in the writers chose to write Sam as a comfortably straight character who isn't put in situations with other men that have him stumbling over words or actions but didn't chose to do the same for Dean.
They are the writers of the show. They didn't have to make Dean so queer.
To me Sam is 100% straight but the kind of straight that if there was an instance in which he was attracted to a man he would act on this with little to no hesitation.
Dean on the other hand is written at first like he's overcompensating, trying to prove that he is straight just like his brother BUT the situations he his put in with men can at times be mirrored with the situations Sam is put in with women.
I would also like to mention that Dean is a masculine man. Yes he enjoys certain things society deems 'girly' but most of the time he comes off as masculine.
But that shouldn't even matter because I don't know is Supernatural is aware but masculine men can be bisexual.
It isn't a new concept they aren't a dying breed. Men can drink beers, go hunting, flirt with women, love guns, cars and cowboy films and still be attracted to men.
That's just fact.
Anywhoo
The earliest instance Dean is shown to express queerness is around S4. (I am not mentioning Cas because I really don't need to to make any of my Dean is bi points) One of my favorite episodes for this is Sex and Violence.
For many reasons.
● The bad guy is established to kill his victims by causing them to fall in love with him which would then allow him to kill them.
And the method used is swapping saliva, so kissing.
So when Dean is put under this trance and Sam finds out that Nick Monroe is the monster they're after he never questions how he his saliva came into contact with Dean. Most likely just assuming and completely okay with the fact that they kissed or engaged in sexual activity.
Also I would like to note that Nick was with Dean at the same time Sam was with the hospital lady.
It's almost as if they both had love interests for the episode.. hmm *strokes not existent beard thoughtfully*
● Another point which is real fact with proof that I can't believe actually exists is that back in 2009 (when the episode came out) the actor who plays Nick Monroe (one of my favorite ppl love him on 9-1-1 Lonestar😍) had and interview or something like that where he admits that upon reading the script he believed his affect over Dean was mean't to be romantic/sexual and not brotherly like the tried to pass it off as.
(You can look up the article on google)
●Lastly, during my rewatch of SPN during each episode I watch I go to IMDB to look and trivia of the episode and or reviews and most the reviews for this episode (Sex and Violence) were about how viewers believed it was mean't to be the start of Dean's bisexuality in the show.
Some of them go into good detail so you should definitely look at them.
S5 enters Dean's 'man crush' on Dr Sexy and scenes such as Dean casually lifting up a blanket to see a guys dick, the scene with 'The Chief' which tbh I just find funny and so forth.
But ignoring all the small moments of bisexual awkwardness I'm gonna jump straight to Dean and Reoccuring Male Characters
● Leo
I'm going to do this in order of Dean's oldest male lovers to newest (with the ommison of Castiel.)
We meet Leo Webb is S15, he's an old 'friend' of Dean's I'm guessing they would have met when Dean was around 23-24.
I love to headcanon that Lee was Dean's first romantic relationship with another man and Lee helped him to be comfortable with himself.
In the episode they are obviously hinted at to have been more than friend and are told that they had fivesome with three triplets meaning they canonically had sex.
This again is something writers did not need to add but I feel as though the only way they could get away with Dean have sex with other man is if they stuck a few women in the middle.
Another moment mentioned was when they reminised about how they got drunk on a hunt (leaving what else could have happened to the viewers imagination)
To be honest I wish Lee was introduced earlier because I love what he adds to Dean's character but I'm surprised they even gave us him at all seeing as I thought s15 was going to be strictly Destiel.
In canon his character was a 7/10
And when left to the imagination or with subtext included 9/10
(Note: I'm going off what I remeber about this episode because I physically and mentally cannot watch s15 again)
●Crowley
Dean hated Crowley until he became a demon which allowed them to become close friends. There isn't much I can say about them because their relationship was not romantic only sexual.
But is VERY canon that they had sex- albeit it was in threesomes, foursomes etc
●Benny
Benny was a vampire. Dean was supposed to hate him but the character was made to act like a rebound for Dean after his fall out with Cas.
(I'm gonna do a proper Destiel take later but just for now I'll mention it.)
It's a common trope in televsion that when a couple breaks up (Dean and Cas) in the following season or episode a new love interest arrives (Benny) to stur things up and crrate a love triangle.
Benny and Dean became very close and whether or not they were aware of their feelings for each other is unknown. But it was incredibly upsetting when Dean was forced to kill the man he clearly had feelings for to save his brother.
Benny was a great character on his own or with Dean and it was such a let down to see him killed so quickly.
●Aaron
Okay this one is a bit funny but let me be CLEAR I don't believe an attraction ever really passed between Aaron and Dean.
Let me explain.
The scene we all know and love where Aaron is tailing Dean and Dean gets all flustered after Aaron lies and says he was hoping to maybe get a date with Dean is amazing.
The bisexual flusteredness of Dean and how he handled it was hilarious.
But in all seriousness I feel like Dean was only so flustered because he was isn't open about what he believes only he knows so Aarons attraction to him caught him off gaurd.
Fun Fact: There is a recording of the SPN writers talking about how they wrote the scene to play on Dean's queer panic and how it could open doors for people to see him as more than just into girls etc
●Arthur Ketch
Okay this one is just for me but OH MY GOD why did Mary have to sleep with Ketch??? Him and Dean could have had the best hate sex ever 😫
Anywayss *wipes tear* here are some honerable mentions.
○Gunner Lawless
First of all SPN KNEW what they were doing when they intercut Sam meeting his first crush (a woman) with Dean meeting his favorite wrestler/obvious crush (A man)
Dean's obsession with Gunner was similar to Sam's and was no different from how anybody else would act around their celebrity crush.
Also they definitely fucked (I know it in my soul.)
○Donnie The Bartender
Okay so we ALL loved when Dean decided to spend his time away from Sam and outside the bunker doing something he found fun.
Eating nachos, hustling rich kids and flirting with the cute bartender.
I wish they interacted more but the single wink has to suffice I guess.
I still have to make a fic where Dean goes home with him bc that totally would have happend.
-
-
Oh my gosh I'm so tired so I have to end here
In conclusion Dean Winchester is Bisexual and SPN writers are pussies
Stay tunned for my Destiel part😁
goodnight everybody👋🏾😴

what a wild ride
Tumblr media
ouchie ouchie ouchie
is he already out of Purgatory??
what the fuck is this??
Benny??
wait, isn't this the season where Sam has a dog?
it is!
Dean, you can't be this mad at him :( how was he supposed to know you were in Purgatory?
we finally got Squirrel!!! it's just been Moose for the longest time!
also I do remember this season?
"I think too much heart was always Castiel's problem" said only to Dean???? these bitches gay! good for them!
I love Amelia :( and tbh did the boys not agree to get on with normal lives if something happened to one of them? cause I could've sworn they did. and I know this was different cause Dean went to Purgatory, but how would Sam have known that?
is he hallucinating Cas??
so Cas sacrificed himself for Dean?
wait, isn't this the season where all the angels fall?
let's have a sleepover!!! I forgot about that line!
and now they're in the wannabe cartoon!
what did Naomi do to Cas????
Samadriel was tortured, Naomi. it's not like he revealed the tablet on purpose???
oh, Dean loves LARPing
AHHHH THE MEN OF LETTERS!!!!! I THOUGHT THAT WAS THIS SEASON!!!!
oh, and Abaddon?
wait, isn't that the episode Jensen actually fell asleep?
omg the bunker!!!!! fucking love the bunker
Dean's absolute pride of having his own room :')
forgot how very brutal the trails are
I forgot Naomi made Cas kill Dean so many times, what the hell
Cas beating the shit out of Dean and Crowley killing Meg in the same episode??? ouchie ouchie ouchie
I have missed Bobby :(((
"in the words of a good friend - bite me" so true, fucking love that line
oh, and we have found Cas
and the parents are fighting, actually
omg are they about to find the dungeon thingy?!
THEY ARE!!!!! idk why this makes me so happy?????
also Dean has been calling Sam Sammy a lot more this season?
Cas, you don't need to threaten a man over pie 🤭
so this is the season all the angels fall, I assumed I just had them mixed up
also The Scene where Dean barges in right before Sam finishes the last trail was part of that one edit from s1? I think? the one where we see them as children
chat, this isn't fun anymore :(
"don't you dare think that there is anything, past or present, that I would put in front of you" ouchieouchieouchieouchieouchie
and that's where it leaves off????? growling and barking. anyways!!! this was a wild fucking ride! I don't have words, but yaaaaaaaay another season down :( at what cost. at what freaking cost. I don't know what happens next season, but I am starting to remember them? like watching this season, I knew what happened to some extent, so I imagine it's gonna go like that until s11? I think that's where we stopped? I think I stopped the season we got Jack? not because of Jack, but I think that's where I stopped
s1, s2, s3, s4, s5, s6, s7, s8, s9, s10, s11, s12, s13, s14, s15

complete and factual recap of supernatural for people who want to never watch supernatural:
s1: buzzfeed unsolved/ghost files but with higher stakes. also theres a plot but it's not important.
s2: season 1 part 2 but the plot got wrapped up and theres a new one
s3: demons!!!! also dean's dying and dies in the season finale
s4: sike! hes back. also angles exist now. and they want to stop lucifer from rising
s5: lets put lucifer back in the box before he kills us all (also sam dies kinda)
s6: sike! hes back without a soul. and he's the funniest person in the show for about 22 episodes before they put it back
s7: imagine if water hated you and could take your shape and also was hungry. gotta put those guys back in the supernatural equivalent of the Dark Forest from warrior cats. also dean (and cas) die kinda and go there
s8: they're back! and there's random jumps back to the year it took for dean to get back. and cas is a heaven's boy now. they're trying to close the gates of hell btw
s9: idk what happens here. there's the mark of cain and they're trying to kill a demon but that's about it
s10: i have no idea, i haven't gotten this far bc this season didn't exist last time i watched supernatural. there's probably some killing.
s15: the finale sucks
this is great because i wrote a summary and i ALSO can't remember hwat happened in season 9 it just straight up does not exist not even in a bad way i just can't remember anythign about metatron and abaddon they were so forgettable. but yeah no that's about right. s10 was like the best season since season 5 htough i cant believe u stopped there nonny

I think that Sam and Dean are foils in the way their feelings toward John evolve after his death. Sam's grief at losing his father causes him to choose forgiveness while Dean moves toward anger. And I firmly believe that post s4 Dean despises his father, like, blood-boiling rage, thoughts of homicide level hatred but, like everything, he represses it. This is why a late season John episode being amiable family dinner time makes literally no sense. It should have been contentious! It should have been explosive! Dean should have gotten hit with some supernatural anger amplifer (like the coin in 8x06) and decades of repression should have finally blown up in John's face and then Dean should have tried to kill him. Yes. Dean should have tried to kill John with his bare hands all while telling him how much he hates him for everything. Sam or Cas stop him just in time, get rid of the supernatural influence and then Dean just freaking breaks down sobbing and still telling John how much he hates him and John's forced to just kind of sit there and process with all the hurt he put his sons through.

(non spn watcher here) when did destial become a canon love story with writer intent? like was there more destiel-ness in the season leading up to the nov 5th confession?
Okay *cracks knuckles*.
First and foremost, I'm gonna tell you about my SPN history. I started watching SPN and got caught up with the show while s10 was airing and was watching live until the end of s12. I gave up specifically because Castiel's s11 plot proved to be just on the side of too miserable for me, and s12 didn't really make it any better (Cas dies at the end of that season). During this time, and until Nov 5th 2020, I was solidly on camp "Dean and Cas are never going to be canon just because of what SPN is fundamentally as a show, and even if they did, I cannot imagine a situation where it would be a good thing for Cas given SPN's track record on how they treat the angel."
When Nov 5th happened I was sucked back into the show. In preparation for the finale I watched all of s13-15 in the two weeks between the confession episode and the finale. Again, my perspective going into this endeavour was still very doubtful and pessimistic, specifically on the Dean side of the equation.
The beginning of s13 was a bit of a shock to me, honestly. It starts with what the fandom calls 'The Widower's Arc'. I think this was the arc that most solidly cements the feelings from Dean's side. It was so vehement in pointing out that Dean feels for Cas in a way so distinguished from how Sam does. In the very first episode of the season (so the first episode I watched after going back into SPN), Dean quietly wraps Cas' body with a curtain all by himself in a sunlit room. And I go Oh. Okay.
This vibe does wane after Cas comes back and regular SPN hijinks ensues. S14 actually ends with Dean and Cas fighting and Dean doing his usual Dean-isms. 15.03 is when that fight culminates: they break up and spend a couple episodes apart from each other.
15.09 The Trap features Dean and Cas in purgatory, and this was Truly An Episode. They bicker through-out the entire thing and are pretty pissed at one another, but then Cas gets taken, and Dean desperately prays to him, confesses his anger issues, forgives Cas and asks for forgiveness back. Later, they reunite, and Cas acknowledges that he heard everything Dean said.
This episode is so interesting to me because it culminates the Dean and Cas fight-separation-reconciliation plot of s15, and in doing so confirms it to be as important as it is. I cannot point enough that the plot reasons for the stuff happening in 15.09 is so pointless. They go to purgatory for a fetch quest for an item that can be interchangeable with literally anything else, specifically to put Dean and Cas back in purgatory (a meaningful place for them), have them be separated, and have the prayer happen. The whole point of the Dean and Cas portion of the episode is to do character work. We don't even see the scene where Cas finally gets the thing they're here to acquire in the first place. That's literally not the point. The point is Cas and Dean's story. S15 is the last season of a show with so many big things to wrap up, and they make it a point to have Dean and Cas go through a half-season arc that DOES occupy so much of the season and brings a new openness, vulnerability, and room for development into their relationship.
So yeah, before 15.18 there WAS very visible marks of the fact that Something was gonna happen. Interestingly enough all those marks were pretty dean-centric. I would say s4-10 destiel is the audience being inundated that Cas loves Dean. S11-15, ESPECIALLY 13-15 is so very much making it known that Dean loves Cas too.
On a related note, on Nov 21, 2020, a post is made here on tumblr claiming that around Dec 2016 (S12 was airing at this point), Warner Bros. conducted a market research about Supernatural, and from this person's experience, specifically about Dean and Cas and Dean's sexuality (link to a post that confirms the information in the post to be true). This market research was during the time leading up to s13, which I think does mark a big change in how the love between Dean and Cas started being framed by the show as something Dean both feels and is also aware of.
So, to answer your questions.
Was there more destiel-ness in the season leading up to the nov 5th confession? Yes.
When did destiel become a canon love story with writer intent? It became a canon love story by S15, but the writer intent to make it canon goes way back to s13 but probably even s12.

And speaking of mirrors, parallels, echoes...TW working in the same vein on that, doubling, or tripling down even, but it's something the mothership did heavily. For one example, as I've been doing an SPN rewatch, I recently got ambushed by standard and solid MOTW “Family Remains” in S4. SPN rhymes. And in fact the writers did look back on old episodes. There’s a connected thematic skein, there's leitmotifs in the writing, that it kept touchstoning, no matter how whackadoodle the plot may get at times.
This post is mostly a Dean character thought post, but you'll see by the end why it winds up in Destiel territory. (And no, not because Dean is all about a ship. This same thing happens with Cas. They both have their own narrative skeins, but they intertwine. While we're safeguarding against broken discourse that refuses to allow them meaning outside of a ship, let's not throw away the actual narrative intertwining that canon did. Characters don't exist in a vacuum, discussing them in relation to each other isn't the same as stripping them of meaning outside of a ship)
DEAN: I'm getting your son back. If it's the last godforsaken thing I do. BRIAN: Why do you care so much? (4.11 Family Remains by Jeremy Carver)
LEE: Ohh. All right. I'll be damned. Why do you care so much, Dean? DEAN: Because someone has to. (15.07 Last Call by Jeremy Adams)
DEAN: I enjoyed it, Sam. They took me off the rack, and I tortured souls, and I liked it. All those years, all that pain. Finally getting to deal some out yourself. I didn't care who they put in front of me. Because that pain I felt, it just slipped away. No matter how many people I save, I can't change that. I can't fill this hole. Not ever. (4.11 Family Remains by Jeremy Carver)
DEAN: …I don't know why I get so angry. I just know – I know that it's – i-it's just always been there. And when things go bad, it just – it comes out. And I can't -- I can't stop it… (15.09 The Trap by Robert Berens)
CASTIEL: I know how you see yourself, Dean. You see yourself the same way our enemies see you. You're destructive, and you're angry, and you're broken. You're "daddy's blunt instrument." And you think that hate and anger, that's… That's what drives you, that's who you are. It's not. And everyone who knows you see it. Everything you have ever done, the good and the bad, you have done for love. You raised your little brother for love. You fought for this whole world for love. That is who you are. You're the most caring man on Earth. You are the most selfless, loving human being I will ever know. (15.18 Despair by Robert Berens)
The meta writes itself. But there’s a thru-line there on how Dean sees himself. How much he cares. How much he wants to save people. His shame about how he broke under torture, his shame about his own anger. It’s not a condemnation of Dean. It was never a condemnation of Dean. It’s about his own condemnation of himself. The hole he can’t fill. No matter how many people he saves. Why do you care so much. I don’t know why I get so angry. You see yourself the same way our enemies see you.
And Cas saw through it. From the first moments. "You think you don't deserve to be saved." From the beginning he saw the disparity between the person Dean is, and the person Dean thinks he is.

I know by 4x03 they hadn’t quite figured out where the angel story/Cas’ arc was ultimately leading, but I still find the events of that episode fascinating in the context of the greater arc of s4, which, incidentally, is my favourite season
Cas didn’t know what the angels were truly up to. He was still spouting the party line which was that Dean was going to be the one to “stop it.”
“Stop what?” Dean keeps asking. By the end of the episode it seems like Cas is talking about Sam and his powers, but that doesn’t quite track, or at least it doesn’t seem to fully explanation his motivations.
In 4x16 we learn that Cas had known about the prophecy, that “The Righteous Man who begins will be the only one who can end it,” since before he even went to hell to save Dean. In fact he thought he was going to hell to stop Dean from breaking the first seal.  So when he’s telling Dean he needs to be the one to stop it, he means all of it: Sam, Lucifer, the Apocalypse. It’s a huge fucking burden to put on anyone’s shoulders, and it gives more weight to Cas’ fascination with Dean throughout the whole season.
He’s this symbol, The Righteous Man, the one who will stop it all,  but the more Cas gets to know Dean, the more he sees the truth and gets caught up in all the contradictions and reality of who Dean really is. His insecurities, self-loathing, fears and yet also his determination, how he always fights for humanity, his unfailing loyalty towards his family. Dean is a complicated person, and with each interaction Cas finds himself more and more drawn to the real person, than the symbol, and the Dean Winchester he’s been told about.
You can see it start in this episode, and again, while I think that’s more a product of Misha’s acting and him imbuing certain scenes with something deeper than anything the actual textual storytelling was doing at this point, considering his arc throughout the rest of the season, I still think it begins here. With him trying to understand Dean’s desperation to save his mother at any cost. Cas knows he won’t be able to, that “destiny can’t be changed” and “all roads lead to the same destination” but in that one moment when he’s watching Dean’s grief at having to witness Mary making the deal with the Yellow Eyed Demon, the deal that’s going to lead to so much pain and suffering for his entire family, you can definitely see Cas sympathise with Dean and struggle with what he’s going through.
The next time we see Cas, he admits to having doubts, to wanting Dean’s faith in himself and humanity to win out over the machinations of heaven and the angels. The last time Cas interacted with Dean before this was during 4x03, and while I do think his doubts and questions are coming from his struggles with what is right and wrong, for the first time, he feels like he has someone to confide in, someone who is encouraging him in challenging his orders. He has someone to turn to with his doubts, and while I don’t think Cas is in any way considering the idea of rebelling just yet, for the first time in his existence, he had someone to turn to if he does.
The fact that it’s Dean, and the fact he’s developed this strong of a trust and connection with him in the space of a few encounters is absolutely bonkers, and yet the way the show (and Jensen and Misha, because they are really bringing their A game to this stuff) present it, it makes complete sense and feels utterly earned. Just the quality storytelling in s4, man... I love it so much.

cas: thank you for agreeing to meet with me. this is a matter of great urgency. it’s imperative that i locate jack.
dumah: you mean the nephilim.
-
dumah: our numbers were greatly diminished after the fall. no one's made new angels since the dawn of creation. we're going extinct. you would need a powerful force to make more of us.
cas: you mean jack. even if he had that power, what makes you think he'd cooperate?
dumah: he may not have a choice.
cas: so you're planning to enslave him for some kind of experiment?
dumah: castiel, he's not your pet. he belongs to all of us.
-
angel: we hear you have influence with the nephilim. he'll listen to you.
cas: no. i will not help you.
-
lucifer: you protected my son. he trusts you. if you can convince him to be on our team, i think the combined power of the three of us can drive michael back. ... god isn't here. it's just us. we're all we got, in case you hadn't noticed.
cas: i have to talk to sam and dean.
lucifer: why, with all their second guessing and their whining? this is an emergency, castiel, and all they're gonna wanna do is put me back in the cage.
cas: that's all i want.
lucifer: but right now — you need me, i need you, and we both need my son. ... how did you hide him so well? i mean, i tried to get a bead on him, and no bueno.
cas: jack. your son's name is jack.
cas is being pulled in multiple directions this episode by angels trying to find jack, either seeking him out to be their heaven-saving machine or world-saving weapon, and they’re leaning on cas to convince jack to fall in line.
what stands out to me are a few things:
firstly, the way they mention jack compared to cas — as the nephilim or as lucifer’s son. both times, cas brings up jack by the name kelly chose for him, affirming jack’s autonomy. the angels know of jack by what he is and could be, the way lucifer only knows of jack by where he came from and could go. unlike cas, who refers to jack by who jack is and will choose to be.
secondly, the use of jack as an experiment and as a tool mirrors the way cas is always treated and how he tends to view himself — letting his value depend more on his usefulness than who he is or what he means to the people who love him. though cas is protecting jack because it was the duty he assigned himself and what he feels his current purpose is, cas truly wants to maintain jack’s free will and his right to make decisions for himself, not out of obligation or by force, because cas cares for jack. when lucifer says he and cas both “need” jack, the need is not the same for them. jack belongs to himself, not to all of the angels. cas does not want jack to endure what uriel, hester, naomi, metatron, and even lucifer himself have put cas through.
thirdly, the reestablished fact that jack has faith in cas and trusts him earnestly. in s4, cas might have tried to sway jack because it meant saving his people and the world all in one breath. but in later seasons cas is much more hesitant, even resistant, to place jack in a position that jack has not voluntarily chosen to be in. i always say this, but decisions cas makes as time passes continue to reveal how far he’s come and the true nature of his character, greatly impacted by his relationship with the winchesters.

top 5 ships for each dean, sam, and cas?
Dean
standard disclaimer about my mixed feelings regarding everything-dean aside lol
Bela. Their dynamic remains top notch, despite everything.
Castiel. s4-6 at least. Those were great times.
Alastair. Very fucked up and very interesting!
Cassie. She managed to make him likeable for a whole episode. Not just an interesting case study as he usually is, but actually likeable.
Nobody else, really, but I do enjoy (some of) his interactions with Ruby, Meg, or Cain more than with most.
Sam
Ruby. THEE ship. The writing really put all stops for them, and they’re very formative for me (lovers to enemies, bloodsharing... love ‘em).
Rowena. Lovely relationship, would’ve loved it even more if they’d fucked.
Castiel. They hit a lot of buttons.
Brady. Both of them. It’s so messed up.
Bela. Nice chemistry, very fun dynamic.
Castiel
Meg. OTP among OTPs as you all know.
Bela. I built it up entirely in my mind and I love it xD
Dean. See above. And it’s a dynamic that gets a lot of emotion out of my fave character. I can’t resist that 😔
Sam. See above.
Anna. I am NEVER going to see them as “siblings”, sns (in fact that applies to most angel-angel dynamics). They gave almost-exes vibes to me
