Summary- The three times he realised he loved you, and the one time he said it. Inspired by You are in Love (Taylor’s Version) by Taylor Swift.

Warnings- Its just fluff, a little angst if you squint? SATORU IS WHIPPED (hes so cute😭), best friends to lovers romance, Shoko and Suguru playing cupids, whipped satoru (yes this warning again), swearing (its only one word but still), no curses!au, modern!au, my poor english :p

A/N- Whenever I listen to Taylor, either this guy or his best friend pop up in my head. Like the amount of times I think about them is so insane and I can’t help it anymore. Anyways, here’s another songfic (is this even a surprise atp?) based on another Taylor’s song coz i love that woman so much. Alsoooo it’s my birthday today! And what is better than writing a fic abt your man on your birthday? So I hope y’all enjoy this little birthday gift from me!

The first time Satoru realised he loved you was when you were in college together. It was the last day of the semester before everyone bid farewell to each other and went home for the holiday season. You and him were walking along one pathway coming back from your Christmas shopping, snow falling softly around everyone’s body, and a chill in the air that made everyone want to snuggle up beside the fireplace in their houses.

Suguru and Shoko had joined you both too but then excused themselves to leave you two alone, hoping that the romantic ambiance of the holiday season would finally give Satoru the confidence to tell you how he felt.

To say he was a nervous wreck was an understanding. He had spent the whole afternoon talking to himself in the mirror, practicing what he would say so that he won't stumble on his words and ruin the moment.

He didn't have a problem talking to you as he normally does; you were his best friend after all, like Suguru and Shoko, but once he tries to tell you that you make his heart beat faster, make butterflies flood his stomach, it makes him lose all his senses. Suguru had to drag him out of his room, complaining about waiting for 'thirty fucking minutes' already.

Eventually, he met you and Shoko at the front gate of his house and walked with you towards the mall. The entire day, he felt so jittery, like he couldn’t stay still. You remained oblivious to the fact that Satoru was about ready to burst from the inside from how nervous he was.

Suguru and Shoko, on the other hand, couldn’t contain their laughter. By the time the sky began to fade into the night sky, Suguru and Shoko decided that now was as good of a time than ever and made up an excuse to leave the two of you alone.

Now here you were, walking beside Satoru, bundled up in your white scarf, and the cutest red blush on the tip of your nose. You readjusted your beanie, looking up at him to start conversation. Satoru felt his words get stuck in his throat, unable to remember how to speak with you staring up at him with the twinkle of oblivion in your eye.

"Toru?" you asked bumping your shoulder with him, noticing his uneasy expressions as you wrapped an arm around yourself to get some warmth as the snow had started to fall little more harshly, "am I that boring that your mind had to drift somewhere else?"

"God no." He blushed, finally able to say something without stumbling. Without thought, he wrapped one of his arm around you, bringing you closer to him. You sighed in content, melting into him and Satoru swore his heart swelled three times its size.

The snow crunched under your boots as you walked up the path. The lights lining the cobblestone street gave a yellow tint to the sight. He walked with you in silence but in his head, he was going over exactly what he wanted to say. This was the perfect time.

The snow falling from the sky, little snowflakes tangled in the strands of your hair. You were pressed up against his chest, so close to him that he could smell your perfume, sweet and addicting. There were no other people around, all too eager to find sanctuary in warmth that their houses brought. It was the perfect time.

He stopped walking, halting you with him. He let you go for a moment, taking a deep breath in and slowly let it out. You watched as the cloud of fog escaped his lips and dispersed into the air. His white hair poked out from under his hoodie, matted on his forehead. Satoru looked down at his wet boots, kicking around snow that pooled around the soles.

Finally, he looked up, taking your two hands into his palms in the process.

You smiled at the gesture, your heart fluttering in your chest. You looked at him, offering a comforting look as you raised your eyebrows up in suspicion, “What’s up, Toru?”

And just like that, all of the words he worked so hard to conjure up, slipped right out of his mind. When he saw you looking up at him, eyebrows raised, cheeks and nose tinted with a light shade of pink, and your lips plump and red, he realized that there were no words to describe what it was he felt about you.

You watched him in silence, studying the way he gave you a lopsided smile when you tucked a piece of his hair behind his ear. He leaned into your touch, letting out another sigh of relief.

“Nothing,” he finally spoke, letting go of your hands. He wrapped his arm around you again, hoping you won’t hear the marching of his heart in his chest. “You’re my best friend.”

The second time he realised he loved you was when he found you crying on your couch. He had came to check on you when you didn’t come over for the routine movie night. Every Saturday, you, him, Suguru and Shoko got together at each other’s places for movie nights. Laughter, jokes, entertainment, talks, drinks and what not went on full night and the next day all of you were passed out on either couch or the floor.

Today everyone was coming over at Satoru’s place. Suguru and Shoko were already there but when it kept getting late, Satoru became worried about you. Shoko tried assuring him you were okay, just stuck in some work but he wouldn’t believe it. Because you were time punctual and never missed the movie nights.

So he came over to yours and opened your door with the spare key you’d given him only to find you curled up in your couch, crying.

He immediately rushed over to you and wrapped his arms around you tightly as you held onto him. He didn’t say anything but stayed there, holding you, feeling his heart break as you sobbed into his chest.

A few moments later, when he felt you relaxing a little, he took your face in his hands as he asked, “better?”

You just nodded as you snuggled into him. Neither of you two said anything, a comfortable silence, just sitting there on your couch, engulfing each other, enjoying each other’s company.

“Now tell me what happened?” he asked softly when your crying had quieted down, afraid you might break again.

“It’s nothing. I just- its too much. Work, studies, family, everything. I just got too overwhelmed and just couldn’t keep it in anymore. And I had nobody present here for me to tell me that its okay or listen about what I felt.” You said now realising what mess you had made and quite embarrassed that Satoru had to see you this vulnerable. “God this is embarrassing! I’m so sorry.”

“Hey look at me.” He said, cupping your cheeks to make you look at him when you didn’t. “Everyone in this world has a vulnerable side. Everyone on this planet has things which is maybe too much overwhelming for them that they might just break at any point. Just like you did. But don’t ever apologise for this. Because none of it is your fault. Okay? And I’m always here for you. Even if you’re far away, I’ll always be there. You’re not alone, okay?”

You just nodded and gave him the smile he adored so much. And without saying anything else, he wrapped both of his arms around you once again, letting you rest your head on his chest. He kissed your forehead and hummed in content as you snuggled even closer to him if possible.

And as he looked down at the girl in his arms, he realised this is what he wanted for the rest of his life. He loved you.

The third time he realised he loved you was after summer. He hadn’t talked or heard from you since 4 months.

You left without a goodbye or a message to god knows where. He'd tried searching for you but always ended up getting disappointed. Suguru and Shoko missed you too. They had helped him to find you too but to no avail. It was like you’d disappeared into thin air.

Satoru often wondered if you ever thought about him like he did, if you missed him like he did. He knew you were probably out there pursuing your dream career, which you'd always talked about and wanted to do, but a part of him wanted to be there with you. To support and cheer for you at every step you take, to give you advices, to have late night celebration for your achievements. Call him selfish and everything. Everyday that passed, he cursed himself for not telling you how he felt before you left. Would it have made any difference? He’d like to think so. Even if it didn’t, he, at least, wouldn’t have to live every single day thinking: “What if?”

He kept a picture of you in his office. He often looked at it whenever he was free, always wondering how you were doing, if you were okay or not. Suguru and Shoko always found this sight pitful. They had tried to get him to move on, but all of them knew that Satoru was so in love with you and you were special to all three of them and that nobody could ever take your place.

It wasn’t until six months later when you stumbled into the building, chewing nervously on your bottom lip. A part of you knew you didn’t have the right to be there because you left them with no warning. You wouldn’t blame them if they asked you to leave the premises the minute their eyes landed on you. You knew you deserved the cold shoulder. Because if they were the ones who did that to you, you knew you wouldn’t be so forgiving.

The receptionist had told you to wait while she checked if the three of them were free or not. As you waited, you smiled sadly at the memories of last six months. You had gone for higher studies, as your dad had promised, for your dream career. You knew you should’ve at least informed someone before you left but everything happened just so fast that one moment your dad had agreed on your consent and the next moment you were on the plane.

Surely you enjoyed the studies and training period there, Paris being busy in days and nights, but having really nice places to visit. You would always go to the Eiffel tower, watching the sunset, half expecting for Satoru to wrap his arm around your waist but whenever you turned your head you’d always met with empty space. Whenever you came home exhausted, you always expected Satoru to be there with dinner ready and him greeting you with a welcome home kiss.

That’s why you came back. To be in his arms. To be able to kiss him. To be able to call him yours. Because you’d realise that your life was nothing if Gojo Satoru wasn’t in it.

The receptionist told you to go upstairs at floor 5 but as you were about to click the lift button, you heard someone running on the stairs. You turned to look who it was and your eyes locked with a pair of blue ones which were close to home. He just looked at you and slowly stepped towards you as you did the same.

When you were both closer to each other, he brought his hand up, touching your cheeks delicately as if making sure you were real.

Satoru couldn’t believe it. When the receptionist called him and said that someone named Y/N L/N was here to meet him, he left all his works and ran downstairs. And now that he’d seen you, he was mesmerised and shocked. Shocked because you were really here and mesmerised because you looked even more beautiful than before. He touched your cheeks delicately, making sure you were really here and not another one of his hallucinations. And then without another thought he took you into his arms and held you tight and closer to him, now promising himself to never let you go. All the feelings he still had for you, tripled. His heart rumbled in his chest, adrenaline pumping through his veins. Even after all this time, he was still so in love with you.

“No need to tell me where you were. Because I already know.” You were tearing up as you finally felt complete in his arms and realised how much you loved him.

“Don’t ever leave me like that again.” He said as he was starting to tear up too. He loved you so much and the thought of being apart once again was killing him.

“I won’t. Ever again. I promise.”

It didn’t take long for Satoru to tell you how he felt after you came back. He couldn’t hold it in any longer. Every moment that he didn’t get to call you his, chipped his heart. Both Shoko and Suguru were growing tired of it, encouraging him to just say it because they were sure you felt the same. He tried to ignore them, not wanting to get his hopes up, but he couldn’t help but think about how amazing it would feel if you told him you loved him back.

You came over to Satoru’s for dinner that night, Suguru insisted that they all missed you too much to go out to a restaurant. After dinner and catching up with everyone, you and Satoru excused yourselves and walked out in the garden. His hands were in his pockets, unable to look at you for more than a few seconds at a time. He’s been practicing what to say to you since years and yet, he still felt unprepared.

You were walking silently beside him, taking in the silence and calmness of the life you’re living now. You no longer had to worry about anything, just the day to day necessities, and your feelings for Satoru. Subconsciously, you intertwined your fingers with his snuggling up to his side for some warmth.

He froze for a moment. This is it, he thought, this is the perfect moment. So before he lost his confidence, he spoke, “Y/N, I have something to tell you.”

“Yes, Toru?” you asked, rubbing your thumb over the top of his hand. “What is it?”

There it was. He missed it. He missed the way you called him ‘Toru’. And now finally hearing it from you made his heart skip many beats.

He held you in your place, stopping in the middle of a field of flowers. The moon illuminated one side of your face, showing off your perfect features. Satoru smiled, reaching over to caress your cheekbone. With tears in his eyes, he said, “I love you.”

You gasped softly, looking up at him, “What?”

“I’m in love with you, Y/N,” Satoru sighed, connecting his forehead with yours. He closed his eyes for a moment, letting out a breathy laugh, “I’ve been in love with you for so long.”

You slowly brought your hand to his face and cupped his cheek as he melted in your touch. "Why didn't you tell me sooner?"

"I was afraid of what you'd say. I didn't want to ruin our friendship and lose you. I just thought that maybe if you didn't love me like that, I'd still have you. Even if it's just as your best friend."

"Then why now?" you asked, you voice getting even quieter. He kissed the palm of your hand as he met your eyes.

"Because after all those years of crushing on you, all those months of not being able to see you or be in your arms, made me realise how much in love I was with you. All those six months, you consumed all of my thoughts, your laughter was all I could hear in my silent nights, your smile was all I could see everywhere I went. And not being able to tell you how much I loved you was killing me." He finished, tears flowing uncontrollably from his eyes.

You didn't know when your eyes started tearing up. All you knew was how much you loved him at this moment. Him confessing all his feelings for you, so vulnerably. It made you realise how much you just wanted to hold him and never let him go.

So you said, "I'm in love with you too, Satoru."

At first he thought his ears were playing tricks on him. You loved him back? His eyes shot open, pulling away from you as he stared at you in disbelief. “Y-you love me?”

"Yes, you idiot." You chuckled through your tears, pulling him closer. Your lips ghosted over his, causing him to shiver. "I've been in love with you for a really long time as well."

"I'm really an idiot, aren't I?" he said, laughing a little.

"Yes, you are. But you're my idiot."

And with that, he kissed you. All those years where he hid his feelings came pouring out in this one kiss. His hands cupped your cheeks, pulling your face closer to his like there was any more space between the two of you to close. Your arms looped around his neck, his one hand snaked down to your waist to steady you while one still remained on your cheek. He kissed you, pouring in all his regrets, mistakes, apprehensions, into his love, no longer wanting to pass up an opportunity to love you for the rest of his life.

And when he pulled back for air, he had the biggest smile on his face. "I'm the luckiest man on this earth." You pecked him again as you gave him your biggest grin.

On your way back home, you could feel it, you could hear it in the silence, you could see it with the lights out in the garden. It lingered between you two, suffocating you but it was the best feeling ever. Gojo Satoru is in love with you. You are in love.

My Hunger Games Headcanons(pt 1):

The Capitol sex trafficked more people than just the Victors. The way Finnick's story is described gives off the impression that the victors are just the most popular/expensive/exclusive sex slaves, but there are more. Since District 1 tributes are almost always described as beautiful, and District 1 is the Luxury District, it's not farfetched to assume a lot of District 1 citizens' jobs includes sex trafficking if they're beautiful enough. THEY are the luxury as well. This would also explain why despite being one of the wealthiest, most propagandized districts, District 1 is one of the first to rebel.

Continuing from the second point, I headcanon that a lot of avoxes are also put into sex trafficking or are district citizens who refused to participate and were punished.

Lavina and the boy she was running away with were a couple. Based on the fact that the boy was immediately killed but she was captured, I think Lavina was a higher ranked citizen compared to the boy. Their relationship might have been what sparked their own personal rebellion.

Effie wasn't tortured physically but mentally through making her watch the torture and killings. Effie develops parent-like feelings towards Peeta and Katniss. When they're abt to go train for the Quell, she has the energy of an anxious mother dropping her kid off for their first day of school. Based on how Snow weaponizes love, I think his method of torturing Effie was forcing her to watch Peeta be maimed. For Effie it'd be like watching her son get tortured.

If Gale and Katniss went in, Gale would have likely killed Katniss. He loves Katniss yes, but he has a high sense of self preservation. I think he would also rationalize it to himself, Gale's family is larger than Katniss's. It's a choice between two civillians getting to live in the victor's villahe versus 4. He would still take care of Prim and Mrs. Everdeen. I actually think Katniss would want him to do it too. With Peeta, she preferred being dead over living with the loss of Peeta, even if it meant leaving behind her sister & mother(though she knows Peeta and other district 12 citizens would take care of them). Katniss fears emotional agony more than she fears death.

If Gale and Katniss were in the games, Gale wouldn't have pulled the love angle. Peeta has an intuitive understanding of social engineering AND he's willing to sacrifice the most intimate parts of his life to win the games. Gale would see it as the Capitol taking one more thing away from him. I do see him confessing his feelings for Katniss during the games. So there would still be a love angle but it would be accidental/not for the capitol. Katniss wouldn't have played into it unless Haymitch communicated it to her. Even then, I think it'd be hard for her to pull it off with Gale. Sure she finds him attractive, but with Peeta...she paid a lot of attention to him from the start. She was crushing on him before the games even started.

Another Gale/Katniss tribute headcanon: Katniss would have tried to take Rue as an ally but Gale would refuse. He's more pragmatic than Katniss. This would cause a rift between them. If Rue dies later, especially at the hands of another tribute, Katniss would probably feel like it's their fault for not protecting her. It wouldn't be a big enough rift to make them split up, but she'd be very distraught.

Katniss's feelings for Peeta started on the chariot. Katniss describes feeling an "unexpected warmth" [ch5] when all Peeta did was smile at her. She's so cute aw.

Following the last bullet point, I think Katniss and Peeta would have still ended up together if they were never in the Games at all. Katniss is very easily charmed by Peeta. All he'd have to do is get the confidence to talk to her.

The Capitol banned contraceptives for the Districts. Though I'm sure Mrs. Everdeen would have an herbal remedy for that sorta thing 👀

Mrs. Everdeen's family was wealthier than most other families. Mrs. Everdeen has a collection of fine dresses and has more upper class sensibilities compared to Peeta, who comes off as middle class. She really loved Mr. Everdeen to give that up for him 😭❤️

Wealth is inherited paternally. This is why instead of Mr. Everdeen living as a wealthy merchant with Mrs. Everdeen, they end up in the seam because he's a seam miner. This could either be the law or a cultural expectation for women to move into whatever the man has.

Mrs. Mellark abused Mr. Mellark. This is based on his personality, he's much more quiet and seems a little passive. But there's also the fact that Katniss has to make sure his wife isn't around when she trades squirrels. I dont think this is to protect Katniss from her, besides those awful things she said to Katniss, she respects her so much she has more faith in Katniss than in Peeta. She's also classist. So my headcanon is that the reason he has to be secretive with the squirrels is because Mrs. Mellark would find it uncouth or even disgusting. She would also see it as a waste of bread. It wouldn't be farfetched to assume she'd beat his ass for that sorta thing. Lowkey doubt she even knows what he traded for the squirrels

Mr. Mellark's trades are lucrative because he's fond of katniss and had feelings for her mother. Bread is so expensive most of the seam can't afford it and even the Mellarks themselves can't afford their own loaf of bread...yet he's willing to trade one of his precious loaves for a squirrel or two. Squirrels are tiny & lean. The entire family eats them too. Katniss wouldn't be bringing 4-5 for every trade, especially not during winter. There's probably days where she can only get a couple.

Most of the Hob sellers are descendents from the Covey. I just really like this headcanon lmao.

As soon as Jihyo saw that it was snowing outside, she had to go and play. She grabbed Mina and ran to their mamas’ room, almost out of breath from how fast she was trying to tell her mamas that they needed to go play in the snow as soon as possible.

Nayeon and Momo barely managed to get Jihyo and Mina dressed before they ran out the door and jumped into the snow. It was just a little bit sunny and not at all windy, so it was the perfect weather to play.

Jihyo made a snow angel, enjoying the little bit of snow that she accidentally got on herself when she flopped down. It was perfectly soft and perfectly moldable for making a snowman.

"Minari! Wanna help me make a snowman?" Jihyo bounced up and down in the snow and watched as Mina packed a little snowball in her hand.

The other little looked up, her cheeks red from the cold, and nodded. She threw her snowball towards the house and ran over to where Jihyo was starting to roll a big ball of snow.

It was hard work for two littles to make a snowman, but they were making it work. As any little would be, they were serious about making their snowman. They did their best to make him as round as possible and to find the perfect rocks for the eyes, nose, and buttons.

Mina was crouched on the ground, looking at all of the sticks to find the ones that would be best for his arms. "What 'bout these, Hyo?" She turned and held the two sticks out to Jihyo who nodded excitedly and took one of them.

They stuck the sticks into the snowman's sides and placed the buttons and rest of the features. Mina took her sweater off and wrapped it around the snowman. Jihyo took her beanie off and tried to put it on the snowman, but it wouldn't fit so she ended up laying it down on his head.

The littles took a few steps back and looked at their beautiful creation. It had to have been the most beautiful snowman that either of them had ever seen and they knew they had to show their mamas.

It took a little to drag Nayeon and Momo out of the house since they were warm and cozy, but they knew their babies worked so hard on their snowman.

Nayeon put about a million jackets and two scarves on before she walked outside. Momo on the other hand just had her winter jacket and a beanie.

"Nayeon. It's really not that cold." Momo laughed and took a few pictures of the oldest and her ridiculous layers.

Nayeon shook her head and stuck her tongue out. "You're gonna be jealous because I'm nice and toasty while you've practically got a tank top on.

Momo just chuckled and rolled her eyes before they finally made it to the littles' snowman.

Jihyo and Mina looked up at their mamas proudly before standing beside their snowman. They each held their arms out with big smiles on their faces as they presented him.

Once Nayeon and Momo got a good look at the snowman, they were... definitely surprised. Their babies certainly put their hearts into making their snowman and it was very creative.

The snowman was only two rolled snowballs tall and his arms were so long that they touched the snow on the ground. He had a few too many rocks for his buttons and quite a lot of rocks for his smile, but he was perfect in the littles' eyes.

"Wow did you guys do this all by yourself?" Nayeon took a few steps closer to get a better look at the snowman and smiled as the littles proudly nodded.

"Yeah, mommy! Minari got the arms, and we made the snowballs together." Jihyo pointed to both the arms and continued to explain in heavy detail how they found every single little rock for the snowman's details.

"Minari put the sweater on 'nd Hyo put the hat on!"

Momo took a few pictures of the snowman and their babies with the snowman with an adoring smile on her face. "You did such a good job, girls. Mama's so proud of you for doing it by yourself."

"Jihyo and Minari made the coolest snowman ever!" Jihyo said excitedly as she jumped up and down.

"Are you guys ready to go in now? I think if your mommy stays out here any longer then she'll turn into a snowman herself." Momo laughed and led them back inside, leaving the best snowman in the world to be adored by everyone who passed by.

OK, HI UNCLE NINA!! So, when I read rm4 oh so long ago and thought abt like Stan's grandpas coat jacket- whatever, yk what i'm talking about, I made a silly lil hc pertaining to the TFBW game. So like imagine all the lil kiddies are running around, having a blast or whatever the sp kids do when they play superheroes. And that day Toolshed brought his coat for one particular reason. Or two, actually. "To make sure you stay warm while flying around, Kite! And- and look cool doing it." IDK just a thought that he made a habit of giving Human Kite his jacket often, and Kite did usually make a fuss over it, but couldn't reject it. Does Uncle Nina approve? :) <33

HUGELY LONG POST INCOMING wait mobile has readmores now wtf anyway this is abt new story quest spoilers ahead

thoughts thoughts thoughts... i liked the new quest! i definitely do still get the "this could be more" feeling i tend to get with newer SSO quests -- they tend to exist in that sweet spot between there being not enough tech in a quest and that forcing you to sort of use your imagination and just enough tech to make it really satisfying that leaves it feeling juuust not quite right in a few spots. THAT BEING SAID, it was so much better this quest than it has been in the past. i definitely felt like there was some on the fly world building that was very jarring, but i can't place exactly why that is as it's just so hard to keep up with SSO lore with all the old quests you've done being unplayable. i'm sure it would be kinda hard for them to make a quest library in this moment with how things are optimized, but my god, it'd be so helpful.

so what i didn't like: the tree?? segment??? where you could only ask "some" questions... this was a little misleading to me because i really thought they were gonna make us choose which questions to ask? but that wasn't the case. i felt really confused by this immediately after doing it, and when this was prefaced before the interaction became available, i kinda rolled my eyes because i thought there would be obvious "right" choices and obvious "wrong" choices. so i was really confused at the wording and then at how you could actually just ask *all* the questions. maybe if they had told us we can only ask 4 it would have felt... no, actually, i'm thinking about that and it still is a weird stipulation to then throw out the window. that being said, ignoring that issue, i did like that "is there anything you're worried about?" was ACTUALLY the question you had to ask. i'm sure i could've picked that up from context clues if i hadn't already forgotten the last quests since i played them LOL my memory is NOT what it used to be.

what else... i didn't really like the runestone rising up from the ground. i FW suspension of disbelief, but this had me neutral facing rolling my eyes and shit. also, i learned the hard way you should have winter snow turned OFF for maximum quest effect... i figured they'd have accounted for players still playing with snow on since it came out during winter. this is NOT a deal breaker for me, it's unrealistic to put out a story quest and account for all the future players who *might* play it during winter (i'm thinking in the future, like, several months from now, or 2 years or so). that being said, DID jar me. watching katja run across ice that was very much also traversible for me as well and have the game be like "see? they're escaping!" was so awkward i restarted the game without finishing the quest so i could re-do it with snow off.

what i DID like: THAT ENDING CUTSCENE WAS SO FUN!!! it was fucking hilarious to see nasty dusty gross weird awkward mr sands there i won't lie but like even still, considering SSO's usual animation limitations, especially in cutscenes, i was blown away. and erissa's little cartwheel was so cooooool and so fun and cute i LOVED IT. and with regards to animations, i DID notice when they gave alex a less LOUD talking animation a while back, and when they gave anne that awkward smile (that she used WAY too much and at rather odd times during this quest), like those small details always stick out to me. i really loved it, i loved the FRAMING??? of the cutscene??? i got like super into it it was so cinematic and fun! i had just been rolling my eyes so hard at sso's nearly condescending comebacks in some of the dialogue writing (c'mon, not even kids think that's cool. well maybe some do, i was a cynic as a child) but the cutscene's cool factor immediately won me back. so dope!

i partially loved and partially hated the stuff from the hollow woods being an important part of the quests... on one hand, it's super cool to see them adding in new mechanics, even if they're ones not everyone has played with yet. On the other hand, though, it was a little odd to just like, do a rune puzzle. very strange. i've already talked about this though, so let me get back on track. collecting the sun energy was way more druid training, which i still do like the inclusion of, so while it did feel a little shoe-horned in, i do love that SSO is trying to make the game more game-y.

Overall, I liked it fine. i do think there's still room for improvement, obviously, but i also see how creative they're getting with what once was considered a very *static* game, so that's super dope. oh, and i LOVE erissa so far. her presence is so fun and i'm so excited because i know she's gonna appeal to SO MANY weird kids like i was as a child. and, restating this again, i'd really love if they took chiyo's model and put her in the game as a new npc. i think that would be so cute and fun. she is in DIRE need of some new clothes IMO and also her face could be um... a little different i guess? you all have probably seen my thoughts on her (once more it's more about context than how she *flat out* is, minus her clothes) but yeah. i think it'd be so fun to have more characters like that, unique and cool and weird. i know i'm getting on a totally different tangent now, but i really would love to see chiyo as a cool japanese kid who's like, i dunno, into creepy cute stuff or whatever. like kimokawaii (But don't get crazy, i don't mean in a weeaboo way) emo, or maybe just an awkward artsy emo kid, or an emo kid who's actually really friendly but tries to be broody to fit in or some shit. i would've eaten that UP as a kid. would be a cute questline too like she could realize she could be happy go lucky AND an emo or something. you help her embrace herself yadda yadda, food for thought!

back on track now, overall i definitely feel like SSO's lore is getting mega murky, and in an effort to make it clear by redesigning starter quests (WHICH, BY THE WAY, I ENDED UP LIKING A WHOLE LOT) it has sorta wrapped back around a bit? like i feel like there's a little less *punchiness* to the quests now. like... these weird teens would NOT be this good at communicating. more mess, more drama, more rudeness and emotions before thoughts. i can see sso hinting at this in lots of dialogue, even in this quest! but it just always feels like... the HINT of issue rather than anything actual. y'know, like, they're teens! but maybe the writing has always been like this and i'm just older now. but yeah, the lore is definitely getting kinda odd to me. i'm sure they'll find ways to fix it all up and tie it in together, but y'know. it's messy. very messy.

overall, generally speaking, i enjoyed. curious to hear everybody's thoughts! wondering how the DC oil rig thing will work out in the open world sense -- i assume you can keep going to it up *until* these quests, but i'm unsure.

MORE PONY STUFFS YAYYYY this time I got Hcs and I wanted to draw eyes bc I had neat ideas for differentiating them/eyelash styles ! I always like when ppl put references to their cutie marks symbols in their eyes so I wanted to do that w them :3 (I still need to properly design the marks tho oof I might do that later)

Scootaloos ended up looking like button eyes on accident though oops they are supposed to be jacks bc I wanted to play into her liking games

Mintys would have been snowflakes but that would be hard to draw so I just opted for a twinkly shape I usually associate w snow/ice, also considered doing peppermint swirl eyes but I didn’t think that would fit her personality as well BUT I’d say maybe that can be used for gags or something ? I can see their eyes swirling around when she’s flustered or confused lol it sounds cute

ALSO sweetie belle don’t got any fancy eyes just bc I think either she’s a blank flank OR there’s some kind of lore thing like unicorns don’t have cutie marks just bc I want to have unicorns be rare/from a different world/have plot significance maybe idk I vaguely remember that being mentioned/implied in g3, i def wanna do something w that rainbow thing in those baby spin offs bc I always thought it was cool, I only know the surface level stuff of g3/g3.5 tho so if anyone is a g3 fan hit me up I’d love to hear infodumping/get some inspo!! ^^

also it’s not mentioned in the art but it’s more a worldbuilding thing but I thought I’d mention another idea I had was that all the buildings/environments of ponyville look/are stylized like toys?? Bc g3.5 did that and I think it’s a real cute style choice and also bc g4 was kinda cottagecore with its style so the second there was a toy marketing placement it was glaringly obvious yk (gestures to twilights castle)

anyway that’s it uhhh I would say more but this reboot interpretation whatever idea is very much only in the first stages like I’ve only had these guys for a few days but I def wanna play around with them, maybe if I expand things more I might include some g1 or g4 characters ? Like how g4 included mix of g1 and g3 characters/villains maybe I might try that just bc I’ve done that b4 in my monster high and ppg rewrite things I combined all the gens together/took the aspects I liked most, but this might be a bit tricker just bc I don’t wanna use g4 as a crutch like I wanna try something unique, hence why I chose g3 to mess around with instead just bc a lot of ppl opt to rehash g4 instead plus I like the g3 character designs a lot :3

concept aira and hiiro both snuck out of their castles as children to run free/play or somth and met each other and did the childhood freidsn first love thing rt?rt but one day shady man mam finds them and hangs for a bit spilling ppls secrets and ominous prophecy-like words with like no shits left to give says they're cute 2gether and then bounces and then aira decides "we have to keep our real identities a secret!" or someth so they dont know their whole prince identities thing. but then one day aira comes accross snow white hiiro in his glass coffin thing in the woods ands like "oh no hiiro! my love!" and weeps and mourns and he decides to give forehead kisses of "i loved you and i dont know how to life w/o u but i will bc i know u would b sad if i died" but then his forehead kissie awakens hiiro >:O! and then hiiro finds a note from rinne abt how he faked his death for him bc of shady business and that the grandson of the guy he bought the poisened apple from would b the one to break his curse and they're like betrothed or somethign. but aira doesnt know mam's his secret adopted grandpa yet so hes like "i have no grandpa!" and they're like "oh shit!" and so they fake their deaths 4 reals (so arashi thinks her boy;s dead :( rinne too ig) and flee the country! landing in tatsumi also good segway into "kohaku probs bein mam's apprentace who meets them aft they figure out mam's the shady guy who sold the apple but havent confronted him yet so mam hasnt revealed the prince 2 b aira and also kohaku is suspiciously also a prince and in mam's care so they think hes mam's grandson and then love triangle drama where they all just like each other but let percieved societal boundaries keep them apart/keep them from confessing. sad :(" but ends gay tho so alls good

Just remembered ppl probably don't check the description that much so here's a name/pronoun check for those ppl :)

[Tom/Mouse, he/glow/they/it]. Any variation on tom is fine, I rlly like toms, and I'm fine with tommy as well. Anytime I hear Thomas I just think of peas oc lol, so maybe not that one. I like mouse as the main name for this blog cus it's in my url, but I use toms a lot on discord amd in games so I figured why not put it here.

tecktock (black cat) and pompom (white cat) are nicknames, they're really called Niki and Pom. Niki we adopted from a shelter with a name already included, tecktock is just a silly nickname to continue the bit of our first cats name (tom+peck, cus its just me and peck living in these lil houses cus hes one of my imaginary friends so why not? He likes cute games like this, Red turned him into a big stardew enjoyer lol) Pom's in game name is snow, but I decided that since we moved in with them already had we probably chose their name, hence Pom.

Also even though you don't choose names in adorable home, you do in pocket love! Also I JUST got tektok in pocket love, some random hippie showed up offering pets for adoption. Not exactly like tok, but she's black which is good enough! I didn't get to choose which cat I got for the second cat lol, only whether it was a cat or dog
