I'm sorry, but what kind of accent does Ivan have? He's the only sim who speaks that way and now that he's more in focus, I can't help but wonder where he comes from! Also, while I'm at it, I've also noticed that you stay loyal to the Sim world ("speaking in Tartosan" "a Tartosan goddess", etc), and while it's obvious that Tartosa was based on Italy and Spain, do you imagine your characters being from real countries and with distinct cultural backgrounds?

hmmm idk that he really has an accent as such, it's more that he speaks more loosely/common than every one else. i don't really have voice claims or any real countries to pin these pixels to cos they're sims u kno, it'd probs get messy if i started tying things to irl and not others.. so nah, other than rough stuff like vaguely japanese for mt. komo or italy for tartosa i don't pin em to real places ig you could use my northern english accent as an example tho, like my mom is pretty well spoken but still northern right? so she pronounces her t's n shit but my accent is way more common and i drop all mine to a ridiculous extent (if i was to write butter or water the way i'd say it it's practically unreadable lol.. like bu'uer? bUHer?? idk lmao) so Ivan probs speaks like me tbh.. Tommy, Rhys and a couple others speak that way too and Oscar does when he's drunk

OKAY! Here's my full commentary of the night, from two middle aged unmarried women, a young sapphic that wasn't really watching, and me, the only person in the room that has watched Eurovision before. We're all performers (one former professional dancer, one dance teacher at university, one student dance teacher, and one singer in training) and we had some... opinions. Okay, let's go!

Cyprus: Bad Romance, if it was sung by Shakira with added yodelling.

Albania: SHE'S GOT GAS (lmaooo Graham Norton mentioned flatulence during the postcard and it ruined us).

Israel: Quite a bop, though that girl did not have legs, she had sticks. (Also the dancer on the front left had pulled his calf by the end lmao.) Thought it was an ironic choice of song name for the country that's been bombing Palestine.

Belgium: Too angsty for Eurovision.

Russia: Brilliantly wacky - very Eurovision. We in the living room are slightly worried for their safety after tonight. Awesome.

Malta: OH YEAHH, THAT BANGED. That's a Top 40 in the UK for sure. That's the living room favourite for now.

Portugal: "I don't know where I belong-" "I'm from the deep south." "Of Portugal."

Serbia: "This is like when three... Unmarried women in their 40s are drunk on New Year's Eve and go: 'Hey, what if we did Eurovision?'" / "Destiny's Inappropriate Auntie." (thanks Graham.)

UK: Alright (definitely better than our last one), but we spent most of our watch session talking about how my aunt literally taught one of the dancers two years ago.

Greece: WE SPENT MOST OF THE SONG TALKING ABOUT THOSE DANCERS. THE AR DIDN'T QUITE WORK 100% LMAOOO. Also her catsuit? Impeccable. That's a Bond girl right there.

Switzerland: We had so much to say about that one. It sounded like Writing's On The Wall. It looked like performance art. It was shot like a Bond opening. Then he started WIGGLING. AND HIS SHADOW MADE HIM LOOK LIKE HE HAD A MULLET.

Iceland: WE WANT THEM TO WIN. THAT WAS SO GOOD. THAT WAS SATIRE. I WANNA GO TO THE PUB WITH THEM. THAT WAS AWESOME. "How does it keep getting better" HOW ABOUT YOU TELL ME!!!

Spain: Ah. A 6 metre moon. We were hoping for a staging malfunction.

Moldova: Learn some Breath Control lady. Also those backing dancers were the best part. One of them looked like Michael McIntyre.

Germany: Good LORD. That was the cheesy filler song from a musical, with the addition of a hand near constantly giving everyone the finger.

Finland: YOOOOOOO. Okay. That was like, incredibly ironic to say they weren't allowed to put their middle fingers up after what just happened in Germany... Lmao. Anyway! That was awesome. Did you see the audience? They were going crazy. So were we. Hope that wins. Living room favourite.

Bulgaria: Pretty staging. Pretty lady. Pretty voice. Ehhhhh song.

Lithuania: AYYYE. THAT WAS TOO MUCH FUN. The choreography was terrible, in the absolute best way. We loved that, a lot.

Ukraine: Ukrainian folk rave. An unexpected bop. No idea what was happening with the visuals. Why did she murder Orville.

France: Very nice song, always love the sound of the French language. We spent three minutes talking about why we dislike the French.

Azerbaijan: Great song. We spent two minutes trying to remember the name of Little Mix song I always sing "My lemons" to the chorus.

Norway: EXCELLENT SONG. However, we could see why Graham Norton said not to look at the screen. Good GOD what was that choreography. Who's idea was the devils.

Netherlands: Kinda forgot what nation that was: some great African influences. Anyway, tonight the 80s reign supreme. Why they were dressed like airline staff, I don't know.

Italy: Very glam rock. We spent a minute talking about Estonia's entrant from last time.

Sweden: Oh, that was so cool. That was the kinda song I can imagine hearing on the music channel in a hotel room where it's the only channel in English. That guy could go mainstream.

San Marino: WHY IS FLO RIDA HERE (still don't like San Marino after their dentist beat us last time).

Lost In This Moment

The day had finally come to an end, a long, exhausting day at that. They had saved not only Los Angeles, but the rest of the world from tragedy once against. If you had asked Michelle Dessler that she would reconcile with her husband during the day, she’d probably just laugh it off. She missed him so much, but she couldn’t stay and watch him ruin his life with his drinking. And today they were given their second, third, fourth chance? She had lost count by now.

This time was going to be different, they had made promises to leave CTU behind, they would start their own company and enjoy each other’s company for once without worrying about when the next phone call would come or the next terrorist would strike again.

But even as good as the day had gone for the two of them, Jack was going to lose everything. His identity, his family, his life. It didn’t matter how much good he did for his country, it only mattered how bad he did it. The same thing happened to Tony, they locked him up for years for protecting his wife, the same thing Jack did years ago and nothing happened to him.

On that fateful day was the beginning of the end of their marriage. Tony wasn’t the same man he was and that took a toll on both of them. After his pardon from the president, they went home where Tony didn’t say one word. She gave him space at first, but when he started to disappear for days on end was when she got worried. She always found him at bars, always drunk out of his mind and still, he didn’t say anything to her.

Did he blame her? She blamed herself, it was her fault he was in prison in the first place. If she only hadn’t listened to Jack when she did instead of getting kidnapped again they might not even be where they are today. She should’ve been more careful on the ride back to the NHS. She should’ve fought harder, should’ve done so many other things.

She always tried to talk to him, but there was always no response. She didn’t know what to do anymore and after one night when he finally talked, it was an argument that got blown out of proportion. They both said things they didn’t mean for the most part until he pointed his finger at her, blaming her for the way he was acting.

She had had enough and maybe leaving would be best for him. She already had the divorce papers in her bedroom upstairs and she went to retrieve them after packing up her essentials and never looked back. It wasn’t that she didn’t love him or miss him, it was the complete opposite. She thought he was better off without her.

And now here he was, driving her car after dropping Jack off with their hands interlocked. Today had been the first day she'd seen him in six months and he looked a lot better. For the first time in a year and a half, it was a comfortable silence. They said everything they needed to earlier and they would still need to talk about everything that happened the day of the virus and afterwards since they never had, but it could wait for now.

He stole a glance at her and noticed everything that others would’ve missed. He noticed how she lost weight even though she had always been small, he noticed the bags under her eyes that she tried to hide, he noticed her straightened hair, and most of all, he noticed the despair in her eyes.

Something he put there.

When he was pushing her away, going out drinking every night, he didn’t see how much it was tearing her apart.

A lone tear slid down his cheek at the memories. He didn’t deserve her and god knows why she was even willing to give him a second chance.

“Hey, you okay?” He heard her ask him.

“I’m perfect,” he picked up their intertwined hands and placed a kiss to her knuckle, a silent promise that he was going to be better for her this time.

“I love you.”

He let his eyes flutter close for a second, soaking in her words before whispering them back, “I love you so much.”

She hoped he knew how much she loved him. She still felt so guilty about choosing other people over him, afraid that he wouldn’t be able to forgive her after what he did.

The tears she had been trying to hold back were finally starting to make their way down her cheeks. She tried to control her breathing but Tony already heard her and next thing she knew, the car was on the side of the road.

“I-I’m sorry. I’m so sorry, Tony.”

“What’s wrong, sweetheart?”

“I-I didn’t choose you, not like you did. And I thought I killed you. If you had died today because of me-” she didn’t finish her sentence, too scared of what her new reality almost was.

“You made the right choice, Michelle. If you hadn’t, you might be sitting in a jail cell right now and we wouldn’t be here.” She was still avoiding him so he cupped her face in his hands and turned her face to meet his. “I’m not mad.”

“You’re not?”

“No, I love you so much and…” he took a deep breath before continuing. “And if anything, I should be the one apologizing to you. I noticed how it looks like you haven’t been eating or sleeping and that look in your eyes… all of that is because of me. Because I pushed you away and made your life hell. I love you more than anything and you’re the best thing that has ever happened to me and yet, I treated you so badly and I don’t understand why I’m even here with you right now.” He finished, tears in his eyes.

“Because I love you,” she said simply and the look in her eyes told him all he needed to know. There was nothing but love and adoration in her eyes for him.

He pulled her to know, kissing her softly but conveying all the words he couldn’t say just yet. It only lasted a few seconds but when she pulled back, she smiled widely at him.

“Let’s go home,” she said and he mirrored her smile.

Home was wherever she was and vice versa.

Idk bout y’all but my parents love to take pictures from ALL our family trips and we have hats and stuff from all that so pops would probably sit down with noya and show them all of that and noya just loves it!! Like so much his eyes are starry eyes (perhaps what inspires him to travel the world hmmm)

If you have siblings he definitely will play with them when he comes over.

Will probably do that plane thing that adults do where they’re just making the kids fly all around (your siblings love him so much it’s crazy)

Never one for giving too many lessons but if you ask him about something in Japanese culture he’ll probably look a place he can take you to show you more

His favorite times are when you ask about anything food related because it means he can take you on dates to restaurants where he gets to see your reactions

He loves taking you to like the Shonen Jump shops or anything similar because just watching you go through all the parts of the store and seeing all these things catch your attention would make him so soft

Probably grabs your hand and gives you a quick cheek kiss when he’s watching you

Would be 1000% down to go back to your home country

Loves you, your culture, and even tries to learn some Spanish for you

(but his accents so thick you laugh every time he tries to speak, it’s okay you give him a kiss and some sweets from your country as a thank you for trying)

I don’t even know where to begin with Tanaka because I literally have like 75000 thoughts of him at a bull riding event going through my mind

BUT he’s a soft boy I know for a fact, loud on the outside but very soft.

With Tanaka I do see him wilding out at parties

Better have a separate pinata for him because he’ll go crazy swinging on that thing

He always blushes super hard when she does that and turns even more red when you tell him that she likes him and calls him “Mijo” now

She actually tells him stories about the olden days back home and Tanaka listens so intently even though he doesn’t understand but then turns to you as you translate the story

Warms up to the affectionate side of hispanic families really quick, like he kisses you on the cheek when he meets your family like second nature. He even did it to you one morning and then got all red when he remembered that they don’t really be doing that shiz in Japan

I feel like Tanaka would really really like the traditions hispanic families do or how much emphasis they put on holidays and family together

Like he’ll probably come over on the 24th for Noche Buena and just loves the atmosphere of the holiday and the connection with family (and of course the food)

It’s a really big contrast to the quieter Christmas his family will be celebrating the next day

Will definitely bring a Japanese Christmas Cake from the fanciest store he can afford as his own gift to the potluck

I know we see Tanaka as wild as hell sometimes but I feel like in a hispanic setting he’ll just go soft, or maybe I’m just soft for him who knows

So for all my POC do y’all know when you’re at the store with your immigrant parents and they see a cute boy and they’re like “You see him, I want you to find someone as handsome as him.” (my mom says this to me literally all the time god damn bro pls im trynna live)

All the ladies in your family will literally get FLUSTERED when you bring him home

I know health insurance is part of my job, but I don’t even fully understand insurance yet HAHA and the thought of it makes me anxious so I haven’t read too much into the kind of insurance I have and the inclusions I can avail from it.

For that one week a month, do you hate being a woman? I’ll feel icky about it every now and then, especially if my flow happens to be heavy; but for the most part I don’t have any complaints. I think bleeding out every month is actually kind of fucking hardcore.

What are your first thoughts when your visitor visits? Be relieved. I’ve never had irregularity issues with my period, so every time it comes it usually serves as a reassurance that there continues to be no problem.

Now if they have just purely hateful beliefs that demonize another's existence, then no, we can't get along. Have you ever drawn or painted a self-portrait? Painted, yes, for an art class. Do you have any interesting pillow cases? No. Are you more afraid of spiders or bees? Bees, generally. Especially if we're talking things like wasps, who are just demon spawns. Would you rather donate time, blood, or money? That's a really hard question, but I guess time? Like I'm thinking volunteer work and stuff, or listening to and comforting someone. Can grills be sexy on a guy? They're sexy on absolutely no one. Last strong smell you can remember smelling? Ugh, gasoline. This one car in front of my mom and me smelled awful. Last healthy thing you ate? Apples. Do you know anybody who was abused? Emotionally, yes. Do your parents volunteer anywhere? No. Do you have a steering wheel cover? Mom's car doesn't. What do you think of when you see sharp knives? This is really morbid, but I will immediately envision what it would be like to be stabbed. I'm very afraid of knives. The highway and back roads take you to the same place; choose your route. The back roads, of course. And let me bring my camera.
