Sure have! #I forgot how long it takes for Chimera Falin to come into play. #I still really love my 'better drawn' art of her - unfortunately it was several weeks too early for the anime only folks. #Slowly getting the hang of drawing Laios. I don't know why I struggle so much but I am getting...somewhere. #Meta time: God damn I love how the chimera shows off the expertise and gap between Kabru and Laios. #The truth is: they are both *right* and they are both *wrong*. #This creature is a combination of monster and human and they only have the skillset to deal with one of those. #Kabru goes for all the human vitals - but she isn't human. #Laios tries to approach her as a monster and is struck down by the humanity he sees in her. #She is something new that defies what they *both* understand about the world. And that makes her such a perfect antagonist. #The damsel was the dragon all along! #...She is really so cute though. Terrifying! But adorable. I am so excited to see the boom of fanart for her.

Still love this version. I was inspired by all the cool fanart I've been seeing in the fandom and wanted to play around with lines and shapes. That's why Sun is drawn is friendly curves and rounded edges while Moon is all sharp and angled. Kinda wanna try the reverse now. Maybe next year 😜

#dungeon meshi #marcille donato #laios touden #senshi #chilchuk tims #Full confession time: I originally planned to post this last thursday so I could caption it “Hoppy Leap year everyone!” #But as I was sketching I realized that the tentacles and Tansu party stuff came first #So devastated to have the frog episode and leap year be a week off. Almost a beautiful coincidence. #I love how they play on Marcille's vanity to get her to wear the outfit AND repair the situation #It is true her ears make the suit look very cute. #And shout out to our girl for having her priorities straight (heh) and not wanting to rescue her crush in a frog skin suit. #Though we all know Falin would be so into the idea. The painful thing that dungeon meshi never lets us forget is her absence #Falin would love to dress as a frog...She is meant to be there so much that it is painful. Beautiful tragedy beautiful writing. #The red dragon arc starts next week and I'm clawing at the walls. To those who are anime only: Get ready.

thinking about mizu from blue eye samurai. thinking. thinking so much. thinking about how mizu operates outside of gender. like we joke about her gender being revenge but straight up? it literally is. like she grew up as a boy and is most comfortable being a man, but behind that is the feeling of betraying himself because he isn't being honest about who he is and he lives in fear of being discovered. and when he lived as a woman, she found joy there as well. she fell in love, and though she wasn't good at it, she liked being a wife and enjoying a simple life. but in that life too, she isn't being honest about who she is. and when she reveals her true self, it's not a woman, she's a demon, a weapon. she's to masculine to be a woman, and too feminine to be a man. ultimately, mizu is most comfortable when they are being a murder machine. that's when they feel they are being the most true to themself. like a sword, they are neither man nor woman, but a blend of both, which makes them stronger.

#also there's a point to be made about how their identity as a mixed person plays a role in their gender #but i can't really speak on that #it's obvious tho #like that's what the show is about #like the reason mizu is perceived as masculine is because she's half white #honestly the racial thing is more important #which is why it's explicitly stated in the show #but im seeing a lot of discourse about mizu's gender #honestly a lot of mizu's relationship w gender is subtext #like good news tho! #mizu is a woman! but also a man! #it's both at the same time #anyway #ill shut up now #i just love her so much #not art #blue eye samurai #mizu #blue eye samurai mizu #bes mizu
