THE GHOST OF PICS: MECHS PAST

And with THAT tortured pun, December's Patreon-backed @tfwiki picture batch is all stuff we've kinda needed forever, all stuff from the prior century, and all stuff from outside the US market!

We start with Takara's original DEATHSAURUS, Decepticon leader in 1989's Victory, who just had his Legacy Haslab toy start showing up on doorsteps. And of course, new separate pics for his Breast Animal partners EAGLEBREAST and TIGERBREAST (yes, get them giggles out, go ahead).

Let's jump back a year to 1988's Super-God Masterforce, and the Godmaster RANGER. This mold is the only one of the three Powermaster Autobot cars to get recolored for its Takara release. Sadly, the MIB copy I bought back in 1996 was missing its gun, thus my general reluctance to add a pic to the wiki. But lord, that tiny, crunchy book scan we were using suuuucked. Made Ranger look white when he's a very light stony blue. Still using the scan though, just now in an inset panel to show off the gun I don't have.

And now we bounce ahead to 1990's Zone, and the Micro Transformer base SKY HYPER, piloted by Deadwheeler. I took these pics forever ago at some BotCon, and have long lost the notes as to who owned this piece a few hard drives back. This sample was also missing the three ramps, thus both the length of time it took for me to get comfy going ahead and adding these to the wiki, and the new book-scan inset to show the missing ramps.

Let's shift over to the European market, with 1992's THUNDER CLASH, the leader of the Autobot Turbmasters. His gravity-feed missile launcher was, like all the Turbomaster and Predator launchers, very much not US choke-gate compliant.

Fun fact: Thunder actually did get a Japanese release! He and Skyquake were straight imported to Japanese stores in Hasbro packaging, with just some necessary legal info changed to Japanese on the boxes. This was the Operation: Combination year, where Takara released the small Turbomasters and Predators in 2-packs.

And now we're going much further back, and much further south. No, that's not Brawn, that's OUTBACK, the 1987 Mexican version by IGA. Apparently, IGA was unwilling or unable to pay for the new '86 Mini Vehicle molds, thus they made their own versions by simply recoloring the '84 originals and slapping them on new cards for the '86 characters. Sometimes with alternate decos to boot!

Sadly, I don't own this toy, and like Sky Hyper, this was a BotCon pic taken with original owner info lost to time. (I always try and credit the toy owner when they let me take pics.)

Now here's the ones I'm super-happy about. These are two of the three Eletrix, ESPORTE and PORSCHE, exclusive to Estrela's 1985 Brazilian Transformers line! These toys transform and walk/roll forward via remote control, attached by a wire over 4 feet long. I'm keeping an eye out for the third one, Jipe.

None of the '85 Brazilian toys have any faction markings, but the Autobot-style packaging leads one to assume "all good guys". As do the bios of many of the toys in the line... but the Eletrix lack bios, sadly. Which is weird, as Estrela made up new bios for some toys in the line, and just straight-translated others from their Hasbro bios.

These molds were released in the US, but as the "Pow-R-Bots" in Village Toys' TF-wannabe line Convert-A-Bots. Like Estrela, Village licensed them from Japan's Yonezawa Toys, where they were the Remote Change Robo Series. All of these releases use the same plastic colors, but give them new stickers for branding and language.

I bought these two MISB (cellophane still there!) earlier this year, but was a little gunshy about opening them, worried the electronics might have somehow rotted. Schrodinger's Electronics. But no, since they didn't come with batteries, no corrosion, and they work as well as a 1984-mold cheap electric gear-powered toy can (that is to say, loudly).

And of course, since I got the boxes, I took the opportunity to take 600dpi scans of the box art unique to Estrela's packaging!

Galactik Football season 3 rewatch, eps 1 - 3

Ok I'm finally rewatching s3, thought I'd put up some thoughts like I did for the previous seasons

Episode 1:

Oh boy here we go

Ok right off the bat you can tell the animation isn't motion captured anymore which... yeah it's not as good. But the drop in quality is more noticeable in the 2D animation which was already a bit rough in the earlier seasons

New Micro-Ice voice actor :( No wonder the VA's walked out, the budget for this season was 2 pennies, a shoelace and some gum.

Well since that robo cat was disguised as a real one, I'm guessing there actually are real ones running around?

Aaaand season 3 tries to tell us there's suddenly distance between Mei and D'jok with no buildup whatsoever. Mei's already chilling with Sinedd what is this pacing 😭😭😭

Mei joining the Shadows is one thing but skipping the training to chill with Sinedd on a beach... she would never. She cares about the team, not just D'jok. She wouldn't do it like this!

tbf D'jok kind of has a point here – disappearing with no good reason and arriving late to the match is irresponsible at that level of play, but it's played as if he's being controlling over her? And no one else is wondering where she went, they just compliment her fit??

Yeah it's not just the animation, the direction is lacking too in the matches but I don't know enough about cinematography and pacing to describe how exactly

Why are they watching this broadcast about Paradisia during half time, hellooo? Did he hijack their satellites or something??

Ngl the worldbuilding around Paradisia is pretty cool

Mei immediately just switches to the Smog skfsfdks BUT THE PACING IS SO BAD THAT IT'S HILARIOUS

Is that allowed? Wouldn't there be penalties for someone using another flux in the match?? I guess it's a friendly

Aarch: It's possible to experience the Smog, if a player is overwhelmed with extreme anger

OK so this kind of messes with the lore of the Smog... I just don't think it should be so easy to start using another flux where the key is just... the emotion you're feeling? I mean sure, it was implied the Smog feeds off negative emotions and/or strengthens them but... ach there just needed to be more buildup to this!

And you're telling me NO ONE accidentally used the Smog before? Not even Rocket, when he was about to punch Luur after Tia got injured, but Mei does over some love drama we don't even know the cause of???

The Shadows stadium is so cool btw, the crystal like shapes on the ceiling, the emo colours... chef's kiss

Yeah it's annoying that D'jok is just acting the same way he used to because the writers don't know what to do with him, but again we don't know how long Mei has been acting like this and I would get annoyed too, although blaming her for the loss of the game was too much. Then again she's probably distancing herself from the team because of how he's behaving with her but again, I'm left here trying to speculate how their relationship broke apart because it was all in a timeskip! I shouldn't have to do that!!

I'm not against them breaking up, I can see how their characters can clash but... give me some more buildup god damn it!

And Mei joins the Shadows... ngl she slays in the outfit but... OUGHGHHG ALL THIS JUST IN EPISODE ONE

Also ngl I think the new writers just skimmed the past episodes and thought that 'pretty girl would go for the bad boy' was enough justification for Mei and Sinedd to get together which like, ugh. They've had like one interaction! And it wasn't a nice one!! Hoooow did they start getting closer let alone start dating AAARGGGHH

Episode 2:

I just... don't think Mei would leave the team like that! As I said she cares about all of the Snow Kids, she'd at least tell Tia or something before running off like that and leaving them to find out from a freaking TV broadcast!

Aarch: If I had a nickel for every time one of my players ran off without telling me, I'd have- ah forget it it happened again

Hearing Sinedd sounding so pleasant is hilarious, it sounds so forced

Oh wait nevermind Mei did try to send them a message beforehand. It's actually really sweet how she addressed each and every one of them individually... Mei calling Ahito little brother and him burying his face in the pillow 😭😭😭

She confuses me because we've never seen her on the Wambas team and there is like, zero mention of her ever having played with them, plus if she was Aarch would surely know of her already and she's wearing civvies from what I can see so... is she just some rando who happens to be good at football or not?? It seems kind of dumb to get someone like that when you could get a player who's actually used to playing in the big league. Why not just introduce her earlier as a new up-and-coming player in the Wambas team?

Kind of funny that Micro-Ice didn't catch on that Yuki is going to the Elektras when they meet them at the bar, come on he's not dumb. Also why is he acting like Yuki is leaving the SK forever, it's just one tournament (at that point, anyway). Actually I'd say it's a good thing if some of their players get some experience on other teams!

But yeah I feel like they could have built this up more – had her talk to Mark or something beforehand discussing why she feels she should do this, idk just something so it doesn't feel like plot point B needs to happen sooo it's happening now.

Aarch: We're expecting you back after this tournament is over! Yuki: You can count on me!

I feel like this whole team member reshuffling should have been done beforehand with negotiations between teams so none of them get stiffed but whatever

Tia: I'm not so sure I want her in the team either! Rocket: Why? Tia: I have my reasons!

SHE WOULD NOT FUCKING SAY THAT. Why is she already salty that Lun-Zia is joining the team?

Kind of wish we'd seen him develop into actually being a good captain as he only started to get to grips with it at the end of season 2, but here we go

Ok it's veeeery interesting to see Artegor's reaction to Aarch being harsh with D'jok and reminding him that he's going through a rough spot. Wonder how much of that comes from the experience of dealing with Sinedd... Artegor might have a soft spot for D'jok considering that “you'll always be a kid from Akillian” conversation in season 2, oouuughh the parallels between those two angry boys that Artegor probably sees himself in!

I also really wish we got to see more interactions between Artegor and Sinedd after Artegor got his mind cleared, would have been weird for Sinedd to have someone looking out for him all of a sudden

Nene Kusanagi Character Analysis (kinda)

first, disclaimers!

1. i know i kinda died on here for a couple months. i'm sorry about that. schools been busy this year

A lot of people in the Project Sekai fandom believe that Nene's backstory is cliche. I agree that an actress with stage fright that worsened after an unlucky incident on stage is a pretty typical story. Despite her cliche background, as someone who struggles a lot with social anxiety, Nene's character development means so much to me.

In the beginning of the WxS main story, she spends nearly all her time alone. This includes spending her lunch break alone in the classroom, spending her free time at home playing video games for hours on end, and even going out of her way so she wouldn't interact with people. Simply being around unfamiliar people would be enough to make her freeze up and even start shaking. Rui even went out of his way to make a robot prototype of her that she could use in order to perform on stage again, without even needing to be on the stage herself. Although Nene-Robo was designed for stage use, Nene also uses it in order to interact with the other members of the troupe since the thought of facing new people made her so nervous. Even in her 1*'s story, when she recognizes Emu in her school's hallway, she runs off so she doesn't have to interact with her. Her social anxiety isn't something that suddenly started one day either. In Revival My Dream, an elementary school aged Nene is shown to be super nervous around Rui when she first moved next door to him. She wasn't shown to fully warm up to him until after the two went together with their families to see The Little Mermaid. The point I'm getting at is that it's clear that Nene has struggled with social anxiety from a young age.

Nene's social anxiety continues to take over her mindset through the middle of the main story. The only difference is that she begins to be faced with more guilt regarding the negative consequences her social anxiety brings. She performs with WxS for the first time using Nene-Robo, but messes up the show by forgetting to charge Nene-Robo the night prior. This is Nene's second time ruining a performance, so she must've felt incredibly guilty when it happened. She was even seen beginning to cry backstage when she realized what was happening. After Tsukasa confronted her after the show (keep in mind that this was Emu and Tsukasa's first encounter with Nene, rather than Nene-Robo), she ran off crying from just how guilty she felt. This works as a crucial turning point in her mindset: Instead of accepting that her social anxiety will limit her from following her dreams, she would soon begin to manage her anxiety a little better.

Toward the end of the main story, a determined Emu and Tsukasa encounter Nene, where Tsukasa and Nene both take fault in WxS's supposed disbanding. The two make up as nene realizes her dream, despite her anxiety: She wants to perform on stage again. Thanks to Tsukasa giving Nene a second chance, this would mark the beginning of her not letting her social anxiety stop her from doing what she loves. She's able to perform on stage again for the first time since junior high in Wonderland Sekai with Tsukasa, Emu, KAITO, and Miku. This marks a powerful milestone in Nene's journey of managing her anxiety issues.

Since that day, Nene has worked hard to confront her social anxiety and not allow it to interfere with what she loves doing. At first, she still needed Nene-Robo around in order to feel more comfortable on stage, and she was also shown to talk really shyly around Emu and Tsukasa for a while. Eventually, though, she was able to comfortably perform on stage again the same way she used to be able to before junior high, and she was comfortable enough around Emu and Tsukasa to be herself around them. Along the way, she's even been able to make several of her own friends outside of WxS (for instance, Kohane, Ichika, Minori, and Toya).

Although she has shown major improvements in socializing, Nene's social anxiety issues have never fully left her, and that's something I really like about her character arc. For example, in the event Musical Twilight Parade, Ichika hears Nene singing one day at a park and tries asking her for advice, only for Nene to panic and run off. When they meet again at Phoenix Wonderland, Nene hides behind Tsukasa when she tries to talk to her again. Later in the day, Nene and Ichika are finally able to talk and they become friends, and Nene even agrees to give Ichika voice lessons. Then, Emu, Tsukasa, Rui, and Rin encourage Nene to exchange contact information with Ichika, which she successfully does on her own after all the encouragement. This really shows that anxiety issues can become more manageable, but they rarely completely disappear. Nene is such a realistic representation of social anxiety disorders, and I think she should be more recognized for that.

So, Donbros vs Zenkai. It wasn't what I was expecting, but at the same time that doesn't mean it was "bad". It wasn't a traditional VS movie, but it was a VS movie at the end.

What I call a traditional VS movie changes around time but is usually an Extended Episode of a Super Sentai with the team of last year been there as special guests. Sometimes they have interactions, sometimes they don't, but at least some sort of pairing happens in the battle, which is at the end fan service part of this whole thing. And, in all honestly, who watches Super Sentai VS movies not for the fanservice? (Magi vs Deka have Wolzard and DekaMaster pointing each other with their swords for a solid minute only because they need to fulfill their fanservice quota).

Donbros vs Zenkai don't do that. I truly don't know why, honestly. The teams been too different do not feel to me like a good excuse, but whatever the reason, they decided the VS of the title is going to be something different this time.

Both parts, the Zenkai part and the Donbros part have basically the same plot: The Tsuika (Both also happen to be Gold) go mad with greed and power thanks to a... reference to them in the show. In the case of the Pirates, Kachiwa Mochi World was the enemy from the episode No. 9-kai! World Pirates, Pleasant Twokai!, the episode in which the whole Pirate Family is properly introduced, while Don 20: High Nose Elegy, the episode from where the Donbros part takes most of its cues, its the episode in which Jirou transform himself for the first time into Don Torabolt (You know, the real Jirou). The VS now means how the same plot is radically interpreted different by the different series, just based into their themes and the characters.

The Pirate Family goes full on fascist dictatorship, basically conquering the world just to satisfy their own desires and abusing of the Kachiwa Mochi World power, despite they are also affected. They establish one single type of Kachiwa Mochi can be prepared, and there before everyone must conform to this new status quo. And the Zenkaiger cannot live in a world in which uniformity is the status quo.

Because this is the same thing the Tojitendo did. Anyone who didn't conform to their standard was lesser and conforming to those standards for them is extremely difficult, to the point of impossible. Heck, the fact Hakaizer was coerced into working for Zocks is another reference to the Tojitendo, who did the same.

But that´s the point, controlling others thru cruelty, and the Zenkaiger, especially the Kikainoids are acutely aware of that. That's why the plan end up been introducing actual diversity (In Kachiwa Mochi, but still), which introduced kindness back to the people, which introduced a bit of rebellion into the system, and, you know, they are the kind of people who are going to rebel, even if they know the consequences. Why? Because they cannot not do that. Conforming or trying to do it, it will be concede that they are not worth how they are and they know that's wrong. So never again.

This is why the Zenkaiger are evergreen for stories, because there always bullies who want to impose their only way of life, and the Zenkaiger who will say no, as many times as needed.

The Donbros meanwhile are very comfortable in their status quo. Of course, they don't live in a comically oppressive robo/pirate dictatorship, but at the same time they aren't the ones to stop and truly think much about what its happening. Jirou, trying to keep his grip on the Donbros, have got into giving them gifts, since now somehow he has ton of money. The idea is to keep them happy and obedient by giving them what they think they desire, and since neither of them are truly that introspective they haven't caught up to that yet.

The Sono Trio have though.

The three of them serve as comparison points for the story, showing how much uglier and cruel and self important and sad their personalities have become, continually calling them out and trying to confront them so they could see the problem, but, as the series have shown time and time again, the Donbros will prefer to keep a blind eye to the truth unless they are forced into watch it. So Tarou has to come back.

Tarou, as a good red, has the ability to make people confront the truth and help them change, on purpose or not and, as an extreme circumstance, only a tragedy was able to make them realize their own faults and back to the road of their actual happiness.

I hope you already noted, one the main differences between Zenkaiger and Donbros is from where the conflict actually comes from: For the Zenkaiger is always from outside, a world so hostile which hates them just for existing and the continuous fight to demonstrate to that world, or at least to themselves, that the world is wrong and they have value, while for the Donbros is from inside, personalities with that one fatal flaw which handicap their capability to see the forest from the trees, unless they are confronted with extreme circumstances, which sometimes are literal tragedies.

So, this is Donbros vs Zenkai, two series which you give them basically the same plot idea and end up doing something completely different. But, at the same time, both are Super Sentai, so both end in the same place anyway: In the Toei Barren Lands, doing a roll call with a ton of explosions.

I really love this movie, despite is not what I was expecting, to put it mildly. Yeah, the fanservice side (The main dish of a normal VS movie) is lacking, but they just did some of the best two episodes of their respective series back to back, so, if you love either series (Or both like I do), you own to yourself to watch it.

With Twitters decline I have decided to get things going here before its too late! Hope you all like what you see! For now, heres some character descriptions and art, featuring the starter and ZX suits.

Julie (Green Ninja) is the Heir to the power of energy, she's pretty upbeat, and is constantly pushing herself to be hero Ninjago needs, she struggles with the thought of being the green ninja though, wondering were Julie begins and Savior ends. She is Lloyd's Daughter.

Colton (Earth/Gray Ninja) is like the embodiment of a dormant volcano. He's taken a lot of peoples crap throughout his life and is only one bad day from releasing that rage in violent volcanic powers. He is usually calm and patient, and when in the field, he prefers using speed and stealth, unusual for an Earth Elemental. The way he used his powers usually entail using small rock shards instead of boulders, and also uses more magma based abilities. He has a crush on her, but he'd never admit it, as he keeps his emotions bottled up. He is Cole's Adopted son.

Liam (Fire/Crimson Ninja) is a goofball, he's not the smartest, but he sure is the strongest, he's not stupid by any means though, he's no brainless brute. His powers and ignited by his passion to protect his friends, when not on the battlefield, he's keeping things positive. He uses his powers more defensively, whether that be a literal fire wall, or a heat shield when it comes to protecting against the cold. He is Kai's Student (No bloodties or family relation).

Tammy (Lightning/Violet Ninja) Is the team's mechanic, pilot, and chemist, she's a bit of a nervous wreck, has a crush on Liam but is too shy too say anything. She might be shy, but her courage in battle is nearly unmatched. She is Jay and Nya's Daughter.

Haro (Ice Ninja) is the Humanoid. Artificial. Robotic. Offspring. of Zane and Pixal! He's a lot like Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory, by that I mean he's is overly analytic, takes things far too seriously, and has a hard time understanding Human Emotions, let alone his own. Despite all this, he has shown an unmatched level of creative planning and improvisation, even showing the ability to create new improvised weapons from his ice powers. Unlike Zane, Haro has not found an identity beyond being his parents son. He is Zane and Pixal's robo son.

Since so many characters have recently been given different gender identities, I’m curious if you have any guesses as to what future characters may have new genders as well. For me, I honestly feel like Robo-Ky may be given more ambiguous pronouns if he ever appears again, and this probably won’t happen but I feel like Zappa’s own gender identity could also change. I mean, Zappa has ghosts who possess him, that’s his whole thing. Though the fact that the main ghost who possess him, S-Ko, is a woman, I feel could lead to maybe somewhat of a gender crisis? Since while Zappa himself may not be a woman, there is more or less a woman living inside his body half the time, and honestly that’s perfect material for a genderfluid Zappa.

Zappa being genderfluid could be really cool, I agree. It would be interesting if we got a character that used it/its pronouns too, but since Zappa is like multiple people in one body, maybe it's more likely he would also use they/them (like Testament) except in a plural way instead of a singular one? There isn't really any one else on the cast where, headcanons aside, I could see them mixing up their gender identities if they came back though... But Baiken, Testament, and Bridget all having confirmed non-cis gender identities is amazing and ArcSys have said they want to add completely new characters to Strive still so we might yet get some more trans characters!! Fingers crossed ;^)

I'm really hopeful we'll get some more characters with confirmed non-hetero sexualities too. At the moment, I think we've only gotten Raven and Venom? I get they kinda wanna keep these ambiguous so people can have fun projecting/relating to them (& for shipping reasons, I guess) but so many of the characters are obviously not straight rofl. I need ArcSys to just come out and be like "yeah that homoerotic Sol/Ky art from 2005 was for real gay actually. they're both bi." Can you imagine a game where both of the main box art guys are LGBT lol

Other than Robo-Ky's like basic lore, I actually don't know him super well so I'll let someone else expand on that in the reblogs, if they'd like to.

Idk where else to put this but all of my thoughts come with Bonus DLC Thoughts™️ and it's kinda related to all this so I'll put it here, but I really genuinely love how ArcSys have been handling their LGBT, especially trans/nb, representation. Waaaayyyyy too often it boils down to being the ONLY aspect of a character's personality but with Bridget, Testament, and Baiken it's like idk the 5th most important part of their character? Most people probably don't even know about Baiken's whole "throwing away gender" thing. It's really refreshing, imo

(Speaking of which. OST vol.3 is due, right?! It's mid-October, 2-month interval is up!!)

Sept extras call: resistance is just a fancy word for refugees, luckily that belongs to Kyoryu's earth instead of ours. But my au isn't that bad ;) Basically my earliest guess was that either something happened to the Kings that they lost their thrones (or a group of people started rebelling against Dugded on their own <- less likely because you'll've to introduce a new leader character), and THEY have to start a resistance now because (a) puppet king(s) is in their place. The only thing we knew then was, Chapter 2 is happening. In the following month, the kings' defeat after defeat is not helping my overthinking! I should've just taken the costume clues on the surface and came to the direct conclusion that it's happening not on Chikyuu but Our Earth. Man I would've love to see my Dark AU some unofficial way ;)

Now that I caught up to Kyoryu ep36, and more obviously, Kingoh 33, I can make the connection for the Oct extras call. They are going to recreate/homage the scene where the crowd sing and clap to give the rangers power. The TV preview text says the Kyoryugers are going to return, so the brightest side is Daigo and Utcchy are going to show up in mid/late November when their search for Dugded brings them to Chikyuu. I don't think there's gonna be a Kyoryu 10th. They had to shoot Amy's scenes separately and Shiono outright said it may be the last time he plays Souji. Practically it's a bit late for the marketing to start if it's really happening, let alone the 20ths are having it in the coming year.

P.S. EP3 goes on sale 6 Dec, and usually an EP contains at least 2 new songs. So is the other "I'm Still Alive" for the Yanma focus ep? Please *pleading eyes*. December also sounds suspiciously late (coincidence with Blu-ray v.2 release?). EP1 was two weeks and EP2 a month after the first song. "Pride and Brave" will likely be reused for the Kyoryu-Ohger and if Crossover 2.0. I'm not very patient waiting for the eventual release of the full version of that dance... worst case maybe we'll have to wait until Blu-ray vol.3's release next March...

contradictions:

YZY math gives us 36 + crowd cheers scene gives 37. Both "Action" and "Homage" sound SKM style but it sounds a bit soon for Sakamoto to return if he's just a guest director. The rate is possible and maybe 34,35 will rush the plot, but it sounds too much of a leap even for me.

I was hoping for Yamaguchi to return with Racles but it seems he got excahanged to Rider with Nakazawa coming our side. :p Well it's just next door, he could always come back to shoot the Husty brothers. (wait that sounds wrong)

Another possibility, it could be KHU calling the extras, seems like you'd need the head D to call that size of a crowd. Hmmm. I'm not giving up my Racles cult theory yet.

Uchusenn interview happened mid-September, the cast should only had received the script til ep35, but it's plausible to bump that number up by two since that Takamina got timeoff for 32,33.

YZY could be training early, and even though she said there's going to be another SKM round, what she trained for is written into the script by Takamina, so it's not a 1-to-1 confirmation that the SKM round is her FOCUS ep. It could've been the entire cast is all required to do untransformed action and she just happen to be the one that posted about it.

but oh god... if Takamina wrote Rita broken mask action...

Do you feel it? The surface tension? Could it really be? It’s Skeeter! Y’see, Skeeter is a real All-Star, as in, we already made a post about them long ago! It might’ve even been our very first post to break 100 notes! But also as in, Skeeter has a lot of fans here! And we owe it to all those fans, myself included, to make a more in-depth Skeeter post truly worthy of Skeeter, I think. So let’s begin!

Of course, one of Skeeter’s biggest fans is Princess Peach herself, given she comissioned a painting of one for her castle! There are a couple paintings of enemies in this game, but this one feels the most candid! It is really just a Skeeter, scooting in its natural habitat! And that painting leads to... Wet-Dry World? Hey! We live there, don’t we? More reason that Skeeter really deserves a spotlight on this blog, then! They’re basically our national flag! What better funny little guy to welcome you to, well, y’know. That!

Let’s talk a bit more about what a funny little guy this is, and how funny, and also little. Skeeter uses the tried and true Mario 64 technique of designing enemies: Orbs! Spheres! Orbs are the same viewed from every angle, so you can save them as sprites and conserve that sweet, sweet cartridge space.

It gives them an undeniable charm though! Like, this is a bug that looks like a molecule! It really is just a ball with little legs, a funny dangly orb on top (to denote Silliness) and two big googly eyes!

Say, looking at those googly eyes... Skeeter looks a bit sad, doesn’t it? Oh no! What could possibly be wrong in Skeeter’s life, do you think? It has such an idyllic lifestyle, scooting about the surface of the water... But even a Skeeter has its troubles. You shouldn’t try and assume what people are going through, y’know! I won’t pry, Skeeter, but if you ever need to talk about it...

Now the Skeeter market is constantly changing, and Skeeter needs to be adaptable to keep up with the times! That is why Skeeter’s been redesigned in basically every one of their appearances! Each era needs a different Skeeter, and Skeeter will deliver!

Well, all but one of their appearances, at least, because Skeeter makes a sneaky little cameo in Mario Party 3′s Woody Woods board! Do you see them? Have a good long look, because they’re in there! They were just a static image, but Mario Party Superstars had the gall to not bring them back when they remade this board. Can you believe that? I really ought to write a letter to complain!

The Mario Party 3 devs may have liked Skeeter, because they went as far as to make a special Robo-Skeeter for one of the minigames! In Ridiculous Relay, three characters take turns piloting different wacky vehicles, one of them being... this wonderful Skeeter mech! Wow!

We only ever see this design from the side in-game, but thanks to modern technology and The Models Resource, we can witness it in all its glory! It really is so perfect to reimagine the antenna as a funny robot antenna! Wouldn’t you want to sit in there? Pilot it, even?

Anyhow, introducing Mario 64 DS Skeeter! While some may lament the loss of The Classic Skeeter, if you ask me this is a basically perfect modernization! Plus, I think those original low-poly 64 designs are most charming on the N64 itself!

This one keeps all the core Skeeter traits, such as the Funny Dangly Orb, but the new big conjoined eyes are very adorable, and make it no longer sad! They even gave extra detail to its feets, emphasizing that they are suction cups! And there is something very soothing about its new shade of blue! Hey, isn’t it a similar colour to Robo Skeeter? I wonder if that was a coincidence!

Personally, I would like to own both versions of the Skeeter painting and display them in my home, side by side, so all of my visitors know I have impeccable taste! Although maybe not in our apartment, because I’m not sure what happens when you place a portal to Wet-Dry World within Wet-Dry World.

Our next Skeeter design is from... hold on a second! Silly me! This picture isn’t from Video-Game’s, it’s from Real life! You may have already guessed, but Skeeters are based on a certain real-life guy named water striders! Or pond skaters! Or water skaters, water scooters, water skippers, water bugs, Jesus bugs, and of course, water skeeters, which is where our beloved Skeeter got its name!

These bugs are well-known for their ability to Hang Out on the water’s surface, without sinking! How do they do that? It’s the Surface Tension, baby! In the grand scheme of cool things bugs can do, this probably isn’t that impressive, but it’s Pretty Cool in its own right, don’t you think? I like how Skeeter takes the ripples they make on the water and turns them into little suction cups! It’s cute!

Hopping back into the virtual world, our third Skeeter is from Super Mario Sunshine, and wow! This sure is ! I mean all of Sunshine’s enemies look funky, but this is something else, huh? I guess I do quite like the colours and the Funny Shoes, but the eyes look a bit... scary! What has this Skeeter seen? Do I even want to know?

Two things you should know about Skeeter in Super Mario Sunshine, pal. The first is that they aren’t called Skeeter, they are called Blue Spiders or Pondskaters. They aren’t spiders, but I guess they are Pondskaters! The second is that if you jump on them, you will bounce super high. I do not know why that is.

Last but not least, Mario Galaxy 2 redesigned Skeeter once more, and... well, maybe not the least, but this one isn’t my favorite? They made its legs a lot shorter, and took away the iconic dangly thing in favor of a more compact skeeter! This does look more like a guy you can jump on, from a game design perspective its probably a lot better, so it’s not all bad! Besides- this one is pur

Of course the funniest thing about this one is its face! Not only are the eyes a little detached from the body like a classic Banjo-type Rare guy, but they are oh-so unimpressed! This guy would say “yeah yeah, laugh it up, pal”.

With how each Skeeter clearly shows a different mood, you know what that means! It’s extremely marketable relatable memes! Sure to go viral! Which one are you feeling today, Trainers?

Yet legends tell of a fifth Skeeter... A Skeeter so mysterious, it even has its own page on the Super Mario Wiki..! Yes, it’s Skeeter from New Super Mario Bros., which I get to use bold for because its technically a different enemy! This guy is called Bomb Skeeter in Japanese, but for the English version they left it as just Skeeter, making the distinction kind of confusing! In my last post I exploited this confusion for comedic effect, but now I won’t do that anymore. It’s time to be serious about this.

Still, isn’t this guy fantastic? It’s so much wider than your average Skeeter, plus magenta and teal is one of my favourite colour combos! It’s got everything the 64 DS design has and more!

The reason for their wideness, of course, is because they are filled with explosives! These Skeeters p**p bombs at you, as demonstrated above, and they can even break through blocks! I think this is a real clever way to adapt Skeeter to the second dimension- giving them a vertical hazard makes them an even bigger threat when you are swimming below them, and makes them even more special! They didn’t even have to do this, because Skeeter would probably work fine in 2D. But they did! Hooray!

That may be all the Skeeters I have for you today, but the journey of Skeeter is far from over! With all the Skeeters we’ve gotten, more are sure to follow... at some point! Meeting their s/o’s abusive ex

Mammon

You’ve mentioned your ex before, it wasn’t something you thought would ever come up after that, you knew they’d end up here but, what are the odds you’d seem them again? Well apparently very high since you walked right into them.

Mammon paused, confused as to why you stopped like a deer in headlights, then he looks over and from description alone recognizes your ex, you’ve described them enough that he’s know them if he saw them, even with their new demon form. He snaps at them. He doesn’t care if they are dead he’ll kill them again if they get too close to you!

He makes a scene, screaming at them, promising to make their life a living hell if they dare step foot in his ring again, he’ll destroy their afterlife if they try to contact you ever again! Your ex runs off and Mammon is glued to your side for the rest of the day

A few buildings got damaged during his outburst but his message got across, though now everybody seems quite scared of you since you made the ruler of the greed ring snap at someone without so much as a word

Stolas

He truly cherishes you, so as soon as your ex shows up and makes a scene about how your the reason they are here, he steps in. He has a lot of power and influence as a prince, so he dose what any reasonable demon would do and has your ex forcibly removed from the store

He ask if your ok immediately, kneeling down so he can look you in the eye and check on you properly, he knows how emotionally stressful this sort of thing can be

He insists on getting you bodyguards, just to keep you safe from anything like that ever happening again, better safe than sorry.

He is more than willing to cut the trip to wherever short if it makes you feel better, he doesn’t want to drag you anywhere if you don’t feel up to it

Robo Fizz

He meets lots of interesting people while working, he wasn’t expecting one of them to be your ex. He saw you with someone, you were clearly uncomfortable and trying to get away, so he intervened, thinking it would help

As soon as your ex tried to say it’s ok because you two had a thing, he realizes who they are, he pushes you away from your ex and not so politely tells your ex he’s banned from the park

He then says good bye and grabs your ex and throws them as hard as he can out of the park, then tells the staff to keep a look out for them

He ask you if you need a hug or want to talk about anything, he’s there if you need him. He won’t tolerate that shit, so your safe from your ex with him

Verosika

She’s at the beach with you and then done asshole walks up to you clearly trying to start a fight, she quickly knows who it is because of how they talk to you

She steps in and tells the your ex to fuck off, they clearly don’t listen so she just politely ask if they want a one way trip to hell

This clearly confuses them, they don’t have time to ask about it before Vortex steps in and drags them away. You don’t know what happened to them but you don’t see them again

Verosika ask if you’d like to stay at the beach a while longer and listen to music or go home and just try to relax. She wants to talk about it but can tell your upset so she leaves it be

But what he didn’t expect was to know what was hidden by the gloves

You normally wear black gloves but looks like today you were wearing white as the previous one needs to clean

So that means you tried to avoid anything that could possibly stain the white gloves

Sadly it failed as you accidentally got juice spilled all over your gloves

You panicked and quickly left

Riddle followed you to make sure your okay

You looked scared and panicked that worried him

When he turned the corner he saw you pull your glove off revealing the metallic shine of your arm

Is that a robo arm?

Then it clicked in his head everytime he held your hand it was cold

You never showed your hands to him

This must be why

“(y/n)?”

You turned around and your face went white

Now you and Riddle were quietly standing there looking at each other

Riddle wanted to ask so many questions but the only one that came out was

“How long did you have your arm?”

“For quite a while”

Oh was all that came out

Now you two were back standing in silence

An idea popped in his head, he pulled out spare pair of gloves and hand it to you

“They may not fit but it should at least cover most of your arm”

You started to tear up a bit as this was the first time someone at this school found out about your arm

And the first reaction they had was to help you

Leona never cared about why you wore gloves, I mean almost everyone in school wears gloves one way or another

So you wearing gloves didn’t bother him

Leona was hearing really loud noises in his room

Why is it so loud? He’s trying to take a nap

Opening one of his eyes he saw something shiny

Oh? His interest has peaked

What he saw was completely different then what he thought it was

He saw you tinkering with your arm

Closer inspection he notice that it was a robot arm

You had a robot arm? How did he not smell the metal?

“Dang it!” You cursed under your breath as the robot arm glitched out

“What are you doing?”

Leona voice made you jump and you hid your arm

“Oh nothing” you said like the lier you are

Leona got off his bed and got closer to you

The arm glitched out and hit the table

“Shiii” you turned around and try to fix it

Leona looked over your shoulder seeing all the wires and mechanics going behind it

You were trying to get the arm under control but right now it was all glitching out

“Do you want help?”

“No I think i’ll but okay”

With a quick shrug he just went back taking a nap

He woke up with you frantically shaking him awake.

“Leona leona wake up”

“I’m awake you damn herbivor what is it?”

“Can you promise not to tell anyone about my arm please?”

He could hear the desperation in your voice

If it was random student he wouldn’t care

But it was you, so sure whatever

He agreed and when you sounded okay he went back to his nap.

He was looking for you and could not find you anywhere

Where could you possibly be?

Asking the tweels for help is not use since they don’t know either

Hmmm the only person who may know where you are is Idia or Riddle

Riddle has no idea and Idia was not responding at all

Which is unusual because Idia always responds quick

Worried both you and Idia he went over to ignihyde to check up on Idia

He saw Ortho just zipping around so he might as well ask ortho were Idia and maybe you if he knows

“Oh (y/n) is with Idia right now!”

Huh why is (y/n) with Idia

His insecurities rose up and he quickly went to Idia’s room because that's where he normally is

“Ow what the heck”

“Sorry, I’ll need to recalibrate the arm”

Confused gave a quick knock and opening the door

Not caring for the “who is it”

Opening the door he saw something he never knew existed, your gloves where on Idia’s desk, while your arm was laid out and Idia was tinkering with the arm

“What are you two doing?”

Both you and Idia looked at Azul with confused lokos

“What does it look like? We’re trying to fix my arm-”

Then it clicked on both of you Azul saw your arm

“WAIT IT’S NOT MINE BUT” you two started to try to explain the arm but soon you just gave up

Azul was even more confused, so you sat Azul down and explain him everything about the robot arm

Confused but understanding of your situation

Azul just sat and watched Idia and you trying to fix your arm a bit

This is very interesting, maybe if I learn a little bit of mechanics I could possibly help (y/n)

Kalim was jumping around the room excited to be able to spend time with you

You told kalim to turn around so you can privacy to change out of your uniform to more comfortable clothes

Kalim turned around to give you some privacy but as soon as you slipped your gloves off Kalim completely forgot why he was turned around

“Hey (y/n)!”

Kalim turned around and was mesmerized with your arm

“WOAH WHAT'S THAT!”

Kalim didn’t hear your pleas to look away and grabbed your arm

“Please Kalim stop please”

“Wow your arm is so cool (y/n)-”

He saw tears started to form in your eyes as you tried to pull back your arm

Kalim kind of just sat there not knowing what to do

You could feel tears running down your face as you finally pulled back your arm

Kalim started to panic not knowing how to comfort his s/o who’s crying

“(y/n)! I’m so sorry, I- I did mean to hurt you or make you feel uncomfortable!”

Kalim was kissing your tears away, while tears where started to form in his

So it’s pretty much you two crying, Kalim apologizing and you just trying to put a shirt on

Once you two finally stopped crying and you finally changed into normal clothes Kalim would apologize again for everything

You forgave him, but gave him a small lecture on the importance of understanding when someone says stop they mean stop

Kalim of course understands and apologize again

Kalim of course made it up with you by giving a you nice pair of gloves to help you hide the arm

It was very hot day so you weren’t wearing your gloves

Vil was coming over to bring you something but he completely forgot to tell you that he was coming over

He used his spare keys to enter your house

You didn’t hear him come in so when Vil walked in seeing you getting a glass of water you practically broke the cup

“V-Vil?!”

Vil stood there just staring at your arm

When you looked where he was looking at, you quickly hid your arm

“My dear Potato, since when did you have that?”

You didn’t answer him you just looked down not making any eye contact

Vil walked up to you and gently took your robot hand and looked at it

“I didn’t want you to know about my arm. I thought you may think i’m ugly or something”

Vil looked at you with disgust, “Why would I ever think of that potato?”

“Because your always about beauty and I don’t even have an arm”

“Beauty is subjective potato, for one I think your arm builds more character”

He pulled your robotic arm and give it’s knuckles a gentle kiss

“You don’t think i’m ugly?”

Vil let out a chuckle and set down the item he was bringing

“May I see your arm?”

He inspected the intricate details on your arm, asking questions about the arm as he continues to inspect it

You started to see what he was doing

He was trying to make you feel comfortable

By the end when he finished inspecting your arm

“Anyway I’m here to give you this”

Handing you the item and left the house as he states that he has “Dorm head work” to do

You just sat there holding the item

“Was that a fever dream?”

It was a completely a accident

Sadly someone accidentally tripped Idia and instinctively grabbed your hand

Slipping the glove off

Revealing your robotic hand

Luckily Idia was the only one who saw it but it was still terrifying

You quickly grabbed your glove and slipped it on looking around seeing if anyone else saw it

Luckily no one did

Idia got up with the help of Ortho

“(y/n) your arm is robotic?”

You just gave a simple nod and little embarrassed by it

“That’s so cool!”

W-wait did Idia’s eyes light up right there

“Is it okay if I see your arm?”

“S-sure, just not here”

Idia understood and once you two got to Idia’s room you slipped the glove off revealing the arm

Idia gently held your arm as he took a closer inspection on it

“Did you design this yourself” “how were you able to create this?”

So many questions and so many answers!

I mean this man did build ortho, so seeing someone do something like this is interesting

You feel so much at ease with your boyfriend knowing about your arm and loves your arm

Technology is so confusing

When Malleus first met Ortho he was so confused

Meeting you he thought you understand the confusion of technology

In reality he didn’t know technology is something you rely on so much!

He was enjoying some tea with you and lilia until a big loud noise scared all of you spilling tea all over your nice white gloves

Lilia excused himself and went to see what the loud noise was about

While Lilia was doing that Malleus grabbed a towel for you

When you thought you were alone you removed your glove checking your hand to see if any damage was done

When Malleus saw your robot arm all he could say was ‘oh my’

The pure shock on your face when you saw him

You quickly tried to cover you hand but it was to late Malleus hand was already on your arm looking at it

“Child of Man is always so interesting, they find ways to replace things that have gone missing”

You quietly just sat there letting him inspect the arm

Malleus notice how quickly you were getting uncomfortable and let go of your hand

“I’m sorry I must have made you uncomfortable”

Mallues took you to his room as he rummage through his closet

He pulled out a pair of black gloves he had

It was so big on you but it will do for now as Lilia and Sebek were looking for him

When you two do meet up with Lilia and Sebek they question where you got the new gloves

“Oh I had a spare that's all”

Once they agreed Malleus leaned down and whispered that your secret is safe with him and he wont tell anyone about your robotic arm

He may have a lot of questions to ask but he will be patience until you feel good enough to answer said questions

Fate and Phantasms #190 & 191

Today on Fate and Phantasms we’re providing you a horror double feature- Mecha-Eli chan and Mecha-Eli chan Mk. II! Since they’re nearly identical (in NA) all you have to change between one and the other is how you roleplay. But hey, you technically get an extra build this week, go you!

Both of these servants are 100% Armorer Artificers for some fancy techno-gadgets built into their metal bodies.

Race and Background

Shockingly, the robots... are robots. Specifically, Warforged, which gives them +2 Constitution and +1 Intelligence. They also get Constructed Resilience, which makes you a better ruler since you don’t need to eat, drink, breathe, sleep, or get sick, you get advantage and resistance to poison saves and damage. Elisabeth might get sick from eating all that candy, but you won’t even be tempted.

Instead of sleeping, you take a Sentry’s Rest, spending 6 hours in a still state- you can still see, but you can’t move without breaking the rest.

Integrated Protection gives you your first armored casing, adding +1 to your AC. You can also don armor by fusing it to your body over an hour, letting you wear heavy armor without having to take off your tutu.

Finally, you get a Specialized Design, giving you proficiency with Performance and one set of tools. If you want to get your Elisabeth on, I’d suggest Bagpipes, so you can clear the room just as fast as she can.

Being a robot makes your background a bit complicated, but you were made to rule Castle Csejte Pyramid Himeji so we’ll call you a Noble, which gives you proficiency with History and Persuasion. If you’re playing Mk. II, swap the latter over to Intimidation, boom, roleplay changes done.

Ability Scores

Your highest score should be Intelligence, you have a supercomputer for a brain, it’s not a huge stretch. Constitution comes next, aside from Babbage you’re the only servant made out of iron. So far. Your Strength should also be pretty good, while you do shoot people, you also hit them, and you have one of the most damaging NPs in the game when ignoring type advantage. Your Charisma isn’t bad per se, but your delivery does get a little stiff from time to time. Your Wisdom isn’t that great, neither of you really “get” people. Yes, humans might take offense at being forced to stay in their homes their entire natural lives. That means we’re dropping Dexterity. Your head literally falls off on a regular basis, that’s an accident that would kill most people. Also, you’re not exactly running around in leather, so it’s not like you’d need it.

Class Levels

Starting off as an Artificer gives you proficiency with Constitution and Intelligence saves, as well as two skills. Arcana is the closest thing to robotics in the forgotten realm, and Investigation will help you make a sweep of the battlefield with your robot eyes. Your first machines are made using your Magical Tinkering, adding minor effects to tiny objects. It’s not exactly the wish spell, but you can get creative with it. Speaking of Spells, you can cast and prepare those now using your Intelligence. All you have to do is be smart. Grab the cantrip Mage Hand for a non-combat use for your rocket arm, and Sword Burst so you can try spinning to damage nearby enemies with your tail. I hear it’s a neat trick. You can also cast first level spells, like Feather Fall and Jump (it’s almost flying), as well as Catapult for a prototype rocket arm. Also, if you can spare the slots, grab Detect Magic for robo scanning.

For more substantive mechanics, you’ll have to Infuse Items over a long rest, creating two items from a choice of four blueprints, both of which will go up in number as you level up. Right now, I’d suggest grabbing Goggles of Night and Sending Stones for recon missions, an Enhanced Arcane Focus for better bullets later, and an Armor of Magical Strength for a suit of armor that can either add your intelligence modifier to strength checks and saves or prevent you from getting knocked prone. Doing either spends one of six charges, which partially get refilled at dawn.

Moving to the Armorer subclass dumps you into a proper heavy armor setup, but you can make it even more impressive by turning it into Arcane Armor. This lets you ignore the strength requirements for heavy armor (which you can wear now), and you can use the armor as a spellcasting focus. There’s also stuff about the armor being a part of you, but that’s already true thanks to being a warforged. As the guardian of Hungary you get the Guardian Model, which gives you cool Thunder Gauntlets that use your Intelligence to attack instead of your strength. Creatures that you punch this way have disadvantage against other creatures for a round. It can also produce a Defensive Field as a bonus action, giving you your level in temporary HP, up to Proficiency times per long rest. Finally, you get some free armorer spells to go along with your new outfit. Magic Missiles do a good job of standing in for bullets, and Thunderwave gives you a finale for your Breast Zero Erzsébet.

Your first Ability Score Improvement is going towards making your regular attacks even more powerful with the Crusher feat, rounding up your Strength and making your fists able to shove a creature they hit once per turn, moving a large or smaller creature 5′ away. Your critical hits also give all other attacks against that creature advantage. (Catapult is a save, so I don’t think they work together, but that’s a DM thing, I guess.)

Fifth level armorers get an Extra Attack per action, so you can make enemies taste both of your hands each turn. You also get second level spells, like Mirror Image to put together some cheap factory-made knockoffs to take damage for you and Shatter for more sound-based pain. You can also prepare spells like Levitate for your first taste of flight, Enlarge/Reduce to make yourself the giant mecha you were born to be, See Invisibility for more robo-scanners, and Pyrotechnics for some movie magic.

Sixth level artificers get Tool Expertise, doubling their proficiency with all proficient tools. Now you’ll be really good at clearing out a bar with your bagpipes. You also get two more Infusions, with one more up at a time. Some Resistant Armor will make you deaf to your own music with resistance to thunder damage, or you can customize it to block out plenty of other types, like acid, cold, fire, force, lightning, necrotic, poison, psychic, radiant, or thunder. Makes a great gift for the totem barbarians in your party! You also get a Spell-Refueling Ring, because pretty soon you’ll be flying, and the worst thing you can do while flying is run out of spell slots. As an action, you’ll recover a 3rd level or lower spell slot once per day.

At seventh level, your Flashes of Genius make your smarts even smarter, letting you add your intelligence modifier as a reaction to nearby checks or saves Intelligence Modifier times per long rest. You were literally built to do everything for your subjects, it only makes sense that you’d be good at it.

Use this ASI to bump up your Intelligence for stronger spells, stronger punches, and more flashes of genius. You take a little bit to get warmed up, but that’s true of most computers.

Ninth level armorers can make Armor Modifications, turning your armor into four items for the purpose of infusion, and you can infuse an extra 2 items specifically if they’re part of your armor. That’ll be really cool next level, but what’s really cool right now is your third level spells, including the freebies Hypnotic Pattern and Lightning Bolt. I would’ve preferred fireball, but we’ll take what we can get for big guns. You can also prepare spells like Fly to fly under your own power instead of awkwardly levitating like a balloon, Haste to overclock your computer, and Intellect Fortress to lord your superior brain over the fleshlings, giving you resistance to psychic damage, and advantage on intelligence, wisdom, and charisma saves.

When you hit tenth level you become a Magic Item Adept, partially because you’re a magic item. This means you get an extra attunement slot, and crafting common or uncommon items is a lot cheaper and faster. You also learn the Fire Bolt cantrip for more options from your guns. On top of all that, you get two more infusion blueprints, and can have one more made at a time. I’d pick up some Winged Boots for concentration free flight up to 4 hours a day, and a Helm of Awareness to give a creature advantage on initiative rolls and immunity to being surprised. You don’t really wear a helmet, but you give one to Guda during the valentines events, so now you can do that in game.

At eleventh level, you can make Spell-Storing Items at the end of a long rest, shoving a 1st or 2nd level artificer spell into a weapon or focus. A creature can cast that spell from the item up to twice your Intelligence modifier times, and it is as powerful as if you cat it yourself. You can only have one spell stored this way at a time.

I really wanted to multiclass into sorcerer this build, but to be honest the final level of artificer is too good to really pass up. So instead, use this ASI to become a Metamagic Adept, gaining two sorcery points and two ways to spend them. Most of your spells are really just part of your body, so a Subtle spell will make that more obvious by making the casting less obvious. You won’t need somatic or verbal components. Alternatively, you can use a Careful spell to turn your giant blasty spells into something slightly more controlled, automatically letting one creature make their save against the spell. You use a lot of firepower for a single-target NP.

Thirteenth level artificers get fourth level spells. Fire Shield and Greater Invisibility aren’t in character, but they are useful, and using useful things is in character. You can also cast spells like Stoneskin, which is an understatement if anything, Summon Construct or Fabricate to build extra Elis, and Arcane Eye for your very own security drone. I also recommend grabbing the glyph of warding from level 3 so you can fully stock your castle with summoned versions of yourself to attack intruders.

Fourteenth level artificers are Magic Item Savants, letting you ignore all restrictions for magic item use, and you can attune to five items at a time. You also get the Prestidigitation cantrip for easy 3d printing, and two more infusions, plus one more built at a time. Grab the Belt of Hill Giant Strength for a whopping 21 strength, and an Arcane Propulsion Arm for a proper rocket punch. That last one does come with a pretty hefty price though- you will have to chop an arm off to put this one on. (Your armor will replace the arm if you have to make space for another infusion though, so it’s not all bad.) Annoyingly, this arm also deals force damage for some fucking reason, so you can’t use crusher on this either. I’d let you just punch people normally though.

Fifteenth level armorers get their final goody, giving them Perfected Armor. Now your guardian model lets you spend a reaction to pull a huge or smaller creature closer to you at the end of its turn if it fails a strength save, and if it’s pulled into melee range you can wollop it as part of the reaction. You can do this Proficiency times per long rest. We’ll consider this a giant hand giving them a nudge in your direction.

Another ASI, use this one for more Intelligence. Now you have the strongest and most flashes, as well as super strong spells and force punches.

At seventeenth level you get fifth level spells, like the freebies Passwall and Wall of Force. Technically it’s invisible, but a giant hand cupping around you to block damage is totally possible. Speaking of giant hands, Bigby’s Hand lets you make a giant mecha hand that actually acts like a hand for once. Yes, we are fitting Mecha Eli’s bit from Las Vegas in here. You can also use Creation to make an exact copy of your body, and Animate Objects to bring it to life. It’s not as powerful as the original, but that’s what you get with factory-made goods.

Eighteenth level artificers are Magic Item Masters, letting you attune to six items at once. You also get another two blueprints with another one built at the same time, so unless you’re powerbuilding grab another Arcane Propulsion Arm for two rocket fists, and a Ring of Protection for a bonus to your AC and saves.

Use your last ASI to become Tough, for 38 extra HP right away and another two when you level up again. You are literally made of steel. Come on.

Your capstone level grants you a Soul of Artifice, which is pretty busted. You get a bonus to all saves equal to the number of magic items you’re attuned to, and if you would drop to 0 HP you can end one of your infusions instead, sticking around at 1 HP. We weren’t able to make your mass-production work out that well, but if you have to die 9 times to actually go down, I’d count that as extra copies.

Pros and Cons

Pros:

You’re hard as hell to kill. With your lowest save being a +6 and the ability to add 5 to any save you don’t like the look of, magic will just slide right off you. Plus, with an AC of 20, just over 200 HP, and temporary HP from the guardian model, you have a lot of health to chew through from martial classes as well.

And that’s assuming they can even hit you! Flight is awesome, giving you plenty of mobility to avoid most combatants entirely and rain down fists and hellfire from a safe distance.

This build is highly customizable, with tons of tricks and gadgets to swap out as the situation calls for them.

Cons:

You’re super reliant on magical items to protect you, so if you get caught up in an anti-magic field it won’t be fun. Like, most artificers will have an awkward fight, but you won’t have arms.

While you have a lot of infusion options, you can’t have all of them up at once. That means you’ll have to make hard decisions constantly, and basically predict the future each long rest.

Two of the feats we took aren’t really that great, and probably should have gone towards better stats. Crusher only works on your regular punches, which are outclassed by your magic weapons, and you only get two weak uses of Metamagic per day.
