Unfortunatly on March , i very feel lost about my grandma ur always there for me & are you remember about the first sleep call that we always joke about? and you become my first sleep call in my entiry life & i feel blessed it was you , not someone or somebody new and you give me a beautiful watch that i always keep in my Shopee Love , to make me happy , that the part of you that i always love & bless in my life ..

Of course next to April , its your Birthday!!! yeayy it was my first time , alone come to your house , see your Beautiful Mom & Grandma , see your Great Father and also your beautiful sister & ur cute brother, that was the best thing i ever had in this year , celebrate your birthday with your family . that’s very expensive also rare moment to each other & and after that did you know that i’m crying cuz’ i always impress with your family.. i really love your family & also you as the oldest one in that empire ...haha i always dreaming too married the first child cuz’ i know that would be great to bring me into the next life , now i have you in my life , promise me be the last ok babe?

What?! it’s already May? ok let’s talk about the Marvel’s Date , the last marvel date is on your birthday too on April 2019 and it was raining hahaha , want to hug u again if i flashback to that moment.. and on May we made it again to watch Doctor Strange & Multiverse of Madness and one thing that i always say to my self right now is “ I will love you in every Universe and i will find you in different Universe just to see you Happy even with/out me . Let me propose an idea that lives in my head rent free. Ok so August and Sara😤Majority of the fandom hate them but me..

Ok hear me out; both of them are so complex. When you really pay attention to August you can see that he’s really just lost. He tried talking about his dad with Wille when they’re both outside peeing but Wille ignores him going on about Erik(understandable, he literally just died) and at the parents day lunch when someone assumes his step dad is his dad he gets so defensive. He’s clearly not past his dad committing sewerslide, and possibly hasn’t even had the opportunity to really open up about it. I can’t even imagine what kind of a toll that would take on you and he probably has many different thoughts regarding it. (Guilt,anger, etc) That could be why he started using, I assume. His relationship with his mom clearly isn’t great, and Erik said that Hillerska is basically his entire life now. The combination of the drugs, and School being the only thing going for him makes it very reasonable why he’s so serious and amped up about everything. Especially being apart of the Royal family. Outside of those things he literally doesn’t think he has anything. It makes sense why his character would take it so seriously. Now the whole video thing, I don’t really want to get into that bc I’m really high and I’m already using all the braincells I have to compel this. He did that out of spite of Wille telling everyone he was broke. I think it hit something in him mentally which fused him to leak the video. That in no way justifies it whatsoever. Afterwards though, you can tell he’s guilty. In his little actions/body language, you can tell. He looks like a clown but you can tell. Ok here’s my idea tho I kinda just went into an August deep dive without meaning to.

I think he’s redeemable, not forgivable. I’ve watched so many series that go on for a good amount of seasons, where in the last season the most loved character was the most hated in the first one. It happens so often in storytelling. I have a theory that he is actually genuinely gonna fall for Sara. Sara may or may not reciprocate deep feelings, maybe just minor or wanting to be with someone. And rewatching season 1 there’s this scene in I think episode two where August was trying to get Felice to go on a date with him, and she is talking to Stella and Fredrika about it after. They’re talking about how bad August is as a guy and Fredrika says “Real love can actually change you” that kinda seemed like foreshadowing to me idk. I’m so intrigued by Sara and Augusts dynamic. At first it was confusing and kinda icky but after all the rewatches I started to maybe kind of get it. August needs to be heard. I really think that’s it. Sara listened to him when she confronts him, let’s him vent and say how he really feels. And after all of that, after knowing he did something terrible, she tells him how she feels and what she wants, and then kisses him. If I were August in that situation I would feel accepted, heard, and maybe even understood. And like wait you want to kiss me after I just admitted all that? Sara was the first person that we have seen actually listen to his thoughts. It would so make sense if he actually falls for her. He’s clearly intrigued by her before that scene also, as she’s different from other girls he’s been with or talked to. If we have a season 3 or more I wouldn’t be surprised at all if we see a huge arc for him. I don’t think Sara will be his main storyline in this arc, just to make myself clear. It will need to be with Wille. Wille and Simon, as they’re the ones he fucked over. I don’t know where Lisa and the writers are going with him but I wouldn’t be surprised at all if something like this happens with his storyline. Who fucking knows, but if I’m actually onto something I’m gonna eat that shit up. Ok thank you for your time❤️🤩

Ok, hi bestie. I like where your head is. I think a lot of the same, too. In fact, I was just telling people the other day that the reason August is such a good villain is because he's not one. He's just a superbly fucked up kid. He's nuanced. He's not completely bad and not evil. He's just incredibly fucked in the head and he's drowning.

I honestly cannot wait to see where they go with his character. It's bound to be interesting. As much as I hate him, I cannot stop thinking about August and all the different layers of his character.

Okay. I got to watch the final episode and before diving into meta and other people's thoughts… yeah some things still aren’t clear to me, and I feel real slow for not getting it. Idk, maybe I need time to think it all over or I need to rewatch this episode at some point.

My thoughts are all over, so pardon me and my lengthy rambling.

With Korn’s last words in the show being something like, “the victor writes the story” I still feel unsure of what the truth is.

Was it Korn or Gun who killed Porsche’s dad? Both characters are liars, so I don’t know.

So… Gun loved Porsche’s mom? Although he molested her?????

I feel mostly confident in saying Porsche is not blood related to Korn and Kinn. Uh, although Korn was calling Porsche his nephew. But I think that was a manner of speaking.

Porsche’s mom looked uncomfortable and lost, like, any time her sons were around, I think because of her apparent memory issues. Idk if it was the actress and/or the directing, but yeah the last scene with her, Porsche and Chay, she just looked uncomfortable the entire time. It was kinda weird, ngl.

I feel like Korn is still hiding truths, particularly because he shot and killed Gun, his brother. Like okay, I guess Korn finally reached his limit with anything to do with Gun and decided things would be easier if he’s out of the picture? Ok sure sure sure.

Things ended with Kim and Chay as I expected them too, honestly. Like their story was left a bit open ended, but with a crumb of hope for them. Chay didn’t delete Kim’s video, re: the crumb of hope.

RIP Daddy Chan. I guess people do and say weird things when they’re dying, but him pulling out a cigarette was…. a choice.

The show had me there for a bit, I really thought Vegas had died, and I was sad for our poor troubled Pete. Speaking of those two, I’m not surprised that Pete resigned. I mean, especially since Vegas lived, it makes sense for Pete’s character to want to be with Vegas, without his loyalty being in question, ya know? It was honestly a sweet moment, too, with the pseudo bonus clip after the credits of Macau being so supportive and welcoming of Pete in his and Vegas’s life.

I expected Porsche to remain in Kinn’s life somehow, but I gotta admit I did not see him being dubbed/crowned the head of the minor family. Well, the two families are closer than ever now, that’s for sure. I did love the fact that twice Porsche told Kinn, “I’m not on the side of the main family, nor the minor family. I’m on your side.” And their little speech on the boat? I was waiting for wedding bells to go off.

We got to see mafia boss Kinn in action. The two guys honestly stirring up trouble in that meeting? Ok, you two must die. Bruh.

We also got to see badass Kim in action. Yeah that was pretty dope. A bit silly that “Oh, Chay can’t hear the ruckus going on because he’s playing a shooter game at the exact right time.” But whatever, I’ll let that slide.

Going back to Porsche and Kinn. Hello power couple! They are now fully free to just be together, on so many levels. They’re stronger together.

Tay looked very Gender during the little party on the boat. So stunning.

This got a bit long, but yeah I think those are all my initial thoughts.

Winter’s Nancy Drew Rewatch

Welcome to my first rewatch of my current favorite comfort show ❤️ Under the cut are my thoughts and a few insights I hope you enjoy - I’ll be going through each episode and posting these periodically with the tag winter rewatched Nancy Drew.

Episode 2x03 - The Secret of Solitary Scribe

such a great episode title - nerd for an alliteration that comes together...

Overall MVP

I’m giving it to Bess this episode - she really furthered the mystery along and we love to see the seeds planted early of her eventual fate, her digging into research and historical sightings throughout history.

Most Heartfelt Moment

End of the episode hands down. I forgot how poignant of a moment that was and everyone did such a great job in the montage - from Nancy going to Carson at the loft, to them walking in the woods, to him mentioning Ryan, and then the reveal that he’s actually there, the hand off of the shovel, and then Nancy finding the carving of initials on the tree.

You can’t not cry during that moment. For a girl who feels so lost, who is questioning who she is, to try and give some peace to that part of her that she’ll never know in the afterlife - it’s her being selfish and selfless at the same time - its her taking something back that was stolen from her, a goodbye (a hello) to her mom, while giving her mom the burial she deserves, honoring her in the best way she knows how.

Headcanon that Kate was there too, watching over them during that moment.

Special mention though goes to two moments with Ace and his dad - the first at the station when his dad mentions that Shabbot dinner happens every week and then the realization on Ace’s face that he doesn’t have a week, and this might be his last dinner with his dad, and no matter how distraught their relationship, he still loves his dad and so he says yes, he’ll be there. Second moment is at the end of the dinner after Tamura leaves and they have another one on one. I almost wished for a hug, but I get that they aren’t in that place (nor have they ever been I don’t think) but just the realization that he trusts his son and the momentary lightness that brings to Ace - breaks my heart.

Both instances show that when all the fights and the arguments are swept away, what remains are what is really important and valued between them - love and trust.

I hope they remember that going into season four.

Most Comedic Moment

The entire dinner scene between Ace, Thom, and Detective Tamura should be framed and hung in a gallery it’s that good.

Also watching it just made me miss how much fun it is to watch Alex flourish in comedy. I mean he got bits and pieces in season three and heaven knows season four is going to be ANGST, but it’s just a joy to watch him lean into that part of his skills.

Ok praise over...for now...lol

Special mention to MVP Bess for the term bone smuggler and Nick’s “ask for a three day lease with option for death”

Best Overall Line

These lines this episode felt like they could be placed right into season four and no one would blink -

You can’t avoid the monster when it’s you

All those years alone with your demons - it’s just another way of being dead

Scare Rating

Was this the creepiest episode? I really think it was. Especially the end...*shiver* 10/10

Nace Slow Burn Rating

This was an interesting episode because it was mostly the crew working together (which we LOVE to see) but even in the group scenes, Nancy and Ace seem to gravitate toward each other (more so?) and it’s so natural - the pairing of Nick and George, of Bess following close to Ace, but then Nancy following closer. It’s subtle but as an audience member it just a reminder that yeah, these two were friends first and foremost and that ease, that comradery, will never dissipate no matter what’s going on - death curses be damned (I’m looking at you too season four).

Solid eight.

Fashion Moment

Ace’s brown corduroy jacket is almost as iconic now as the rainbow jacket he’s worn it so often - almost. Also, I’ve been liking the jacket/hoodie combo. That’s a good look.

a/n: i have this idea while watching a movie about parallel universes and all, so i just wanted to try this out. it will be a 10 parts series! im not really sure about this, i think i kinda hate it but im posting it anyways lmao. i hope you gonna enjoy!

You woke up feeling dizzy and with a major headache. At first you thought it was because you drank a whole lot of wine last night but then you saw yourself in a room you never saw before. You stoop up quickly trying to understand where you were and how did you end up there. You were sure that you have never been in this place before, and it was scaring you that you showed up in there.

There was a mirror nailed to the wall in from of you almost forcing you to look at your own body, that made you notice that you were still wearing the same clothes from last night, but you weren’t home. Not being home was odd given by the fact you stayed there with your family and two friends you invited over, since there’s a whole freaking pandemic going on and you for sure did not want to get sick or get other people sick.

“Did I get kidnapped?” you think out loud. “No, I just watch too much Criminal Minds.” you tell yourself, trying to calm down.

You reach for the face mask placed on the nightstand, getting ready to leave this random place and go home. You tried not to freak out when you realized your phone was gone and the only cellphone in there was probably as old as your grandmother. You dialed your moms number about five times and all of them went on voicemail, making you curse mentally.

This can’t be happening. Not to me.

As soon as you leave the apartment you were in you realized you weren’t in your hometown, definitely not. It was crowded, like, really crowded and no one was wearing any face masks. Where did the freaking pandemic go? You wondered while you felt like a misfit for being the only one wearing it.

“Excuse me, can you tell me where I am?” you ask an old lady walking by.

“You’re on Main Street, sweetheart.” she says.

“No, um, I mean the city.” you watched as the old lady looked at you with a funny face, as if she was calling you crazy on her mind.

“We’re in Quantico, dear.”

“Quantico?” you repeat, mostly for yourself then for her. The lady started at you like you were an alien. “Thank you so much, ma’am.”

The air started to go low on you, how did you get to Virginia, anyway? That was across the country from where you lived, Bellevue in Washington state. You started lost walking, trying to understand what the hell was going on. It felt like you were on a parallel universe, like you were in a dream but couldn't wake up and it sure felt very real. You stoped a jornal shop taking a lot at the last newspaper in there, trying to figure if something happened that you were missing. However, nothing reported there shocked you, what did, though, was the date.

July 1st, 2008

You were about to ask someone about it when you bumped into a blonde woman, falling on the ground. As soon as you looked up, you almost chocked yourself. If the day was already weird, this was even weirder. A.J Cook was standing right in front of you with a concerned look. You couldn't really say anything, just staring at her like she wasn't real. It was weird seeing her in front of you after only seeing her through screens.

“I’m so sorry!” she said as she offered a hand for you to get up. “Are you ok?”

“I- um, yes! I’m fine.” you san, getting the dirt out of your outfit. “I’m a big fan of yours! Wish I had my phone here to take a picture but- sorry.“ you stoped talking, realizing she probably doesn’t care.

“Big fan of me? Wow, howcome somebody’s a fan of me?” she sounds surprised.

“Well, you’re on Criminal Minds.” you say as it was obvious.

She looked at you as if you were out of your mind. Not that you weren't thinking otherwise at the moment, anyways.

“I’m on what now?” she asked.

Maybe you got confused and she was the wrong person, but she looked so much like her to not be her. If they were not the same person, then definitely twins. This was so weird, once again, you found yourself asking ‘what the hell’ mentally.

“You’re JJ, Jennifer Jareau, FBI Agent and all.” you say, trying one more time. “Behaviour Analysis Unit...”

“Yea, that‘s me.” she let a nervous laugh comes out of her mouth. “How do you know me?”

‘This is weird’ you thought. How does she not understand where you know her from? Literally Criminal Minds, like you said at first. ‘Maybe this is all a dream.’

“I saw you on tv” you try.

“Oh, I see! You like law enforcement?” she asks you.

“Oh yes, I’m in law-school to be a judge someday.” you answered. “The show, all of it just makes me wanna put all them bad guys in jail.” you say, laughing a bit.

“The show...? What?” you hear her whisper, but decide to ignore it. “What’s the mask about?” JJ asks, making you look at her surprised.

“Um, covid-19?” you say like it’s obvious, because it is.

“Oh, sure...” she smiles as she says it, almost like she's only agreeing because she won't discuss it. “Great talking to you, really, but I gotta go, FBI duty calls.” she jokes.

You smile at her watching carefully as she picks up her phone from her pocket and pick up a call. That phone looked awfully old, like 2000’s old. Why would a famous actress have that kinda of phone? Then, you looked around trying to understand more about what was going on. It was all too out of place.

First, nobody wearing masks, not even a single person but you. Second, you were in a city in which is miles away from your own. Third, a famous actress acted like she’s nobody. And fourth, the date on the calendar said 2008.

If it wasn’t just impossible I would say I time travelled into Criminal Minds universe.

After standing there for literal 10 minutes trying to figure it out what you were going to do, you decide to go to the police department. After all, you may have been abducted, right? Because you didn’t have any knowledge of the place, you took quite some time to get there. As soon as you got there you sigh in relief, that has been quite a walk and damn, you were tired of this situation.

“Excuse me, ma’am, can you help me?” you ask to the lady standing behind the counter.

“Sure, dear. What do you need?” she looks up at you, taking her glasses of her face.

“I think I might have been abducted?” you start. “I woke up in this random apartment.”

“Maybe you had a one-night stand.” she said putting back her glasses.

“No! I am sure I didn’t because first of all, there’s a pandemic going on, second of all I was in Bellevue in Washington state when I went to sleep.” you yell, involuntarily, desperate to make her believe in you.

“Miss, I’m gonna need you to calm down or you will be escorted out of the building. You’re probably on drugs, there's nothing we can do for you.”

“Fuck you.” you say as you watch her face get all red.

Frustrated. That could define what you were feeling, scared and worried could do the work, as well. What were you going to do now? Go to the FBI to see if they could freaking understand why you simply appeared in Quantico? Didn't sound like a bad idea in your mind as you decided to just try it out. After all, you were already pretty screwed up, it would worth a shot.

You reached for your back pocket, hoping that the money you shoved in there more than a week ago would still be in there. Bingo! You pull out a 20 dollar bill out of it and the next thing you know you’re getting into a cab asking him to take you to the FBI. Now that’s something you never thought would happen. The travel was quite quick, in 20 minutos you were standing in front of that big isolated building. It looked like it was taken straight out of your favorite show, that was insane.

The wind blew hard on you when you got out of the vehicle, making you shiver a little, that reminded you that you did not have any clothes nor money to buy more. God, you did not even have where to go. You didn't even get the chance to get into the building as a big man steps in front of you, blocking your way.

“Miss, you're not allowed in this building.” he said without much expression.

“But, sir-” you started, as you saw he was about to interrupt you, you go on. “Ive been abducted and I don't know where or how the hell did I get in here, I’m completely hopeless... Please.” you beg him.

He started at you for a couple of seconds, that felt like centuries for you, just to sigh at you.

“Ok, follow me.” he said. “Do not make me regret this.”

“I-I won’t, sir.” you were quick to answer.

The agent asked another man to cover up for him as he led me into the building. Once again you found yourself admired of how much it did look like a Criminal Minds episode in there, if you weren't totally desperate you'd be amused. Soon, you two were out of the elevator on floor 8, leading with the words Behavior Analysis Unit quite big.

“Can you take her to Agent Jareau, please?” the man said to someone who passed by, who simply agreed.

Now, that's a funny coincidence, there's actually an Agent Jareau in the BAU.

You followed the woman with questioning trying to stay calm when you saw Matthew Gray Gubler sitting on a desk reading some book in Reid style, almost like he was Spencer himself. If you had any doubts you were going crazy, that was the final proof. You stoped walking, taking a stare at him and then at the Agent that stared a you like you were an alien.

“Is there something wrong?” she asks you. “Miss, are you ok?”

You were unable to answer for a few seconds when you finally opened you mouth, still trying to figure it out how to say what was on your mind without sounding completely insane.

“Is that Dr. Spencer Reid?”

And that was all you’re able to say because as soon as you let his name out of your mouth he looked up at you, trying to somehow recognize you. You were sure, that time, that you never looked - and sounded - as insane as right now.

“Yes, that's me.” he answers.

His voice was the last thing you could hear before everything go black. Maybe you were finally going to wake up. Maybe.

When you told Marcus and Michelle that you had to be out for a month, they advised you to only come to the gym three times a week for two hours for the first two weeks and you’d figure out a plan for the two weeks after, that way you could take a much needed break out of the gym. The thing stressing you out the most was gym and they obviously realized it, so they were hopeful it would give you a chance to breathe.

You planned to go to the gym Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays from 6-8am and then you would spend the rest of your day at home doing whatever you needed to do that day. The first Monday you spent those two hours doing ab workouts and helping the other girls around the gym, then you went home and stayed in your room for the rest of the day. You put your phone on do not disturb, so no one heard from you, which caused Kevin to come to your apartment to make sure you were okay.

Tuesday played out the exact same way, early practice, then going home and staying in bed, and Kevin coming to make sure you were alright. Kevin even invited you to come out with him and some of the boys, which you politely declined saying they should have their time together. Wednesday, you simply stayed in bed, choosing to actually keep your phone on today, you were just tired and felt drained from everything going on right now that you couldn’t really muster up the energy to talk to anyone.

Wednesday night, as you were rewatching Marvel movies, your phone started ringing with a call from Ryanne. Quickly answering it, “hey Ry.”

“Hey babes, how’re you doing?”

“I’ve been better, I’ve also been worse, so.”

“Me and Claude were wondering if you’d want to come over and hang out with us and Gav for some of the day, we’ll provide food and such, but we miss you, babe. So, we figured we’d ask while you have a chance.”

In reality, Ryanne had heard from Claude that you wouldn’t be able to do extensive training for at least a month. She might not have known much about gymnastics, but she knew you well enough to know that you were always constantly training - she was well aware that if that ever got taken from Claude that he would be devastated if he was out for that long and with two weeks to prepare for a big game.

She had checked in to see how you were with Kevin one day after practice and when he mentioned everything that was going on, she was worried about you. She knew that she likely wouldn’t be able to help much, but she did know that there was one part of the equation she could help. Knowing that she already had a plan to have a send off party before the boys went on a roadie and also knowing that everyone on the team would be there, she somehow conveniently planned to invite you over a few hours before it started.

“Oh, yeah, I’d love to, honestly. What time do you want me over?”

“Anytime after three is fine. I’ll see you then, hun. Oh, and wear something cute.”

“Why exactly?”

“Just do it,” Ryanne said, not having time to think of an excuse, “bye.”

As you were about to say something else, the ring that told you she had hung up rang out.

Joel wasn’t doing as good as he wanted to be recently and with an upcoming roadie, he knew he needed to spend more time on the ice before the game. Having asked a few of the guys to work with him during an unscheduled morning skate, he was able to work on what he needed to.

“Wait, so she’s out how long?” Joel overheard Travis ask Kevin as he made his way into the locker room.

“Like four weeks, but two weeks with the brace and basically no training, then two weeks with athletic tape on her knee and no hard landings. But she’ll only have two weeks before Championships, so she's not feeling too great about it. Plus, she has to use her brace and crutches again and she didn’t enjoy that the first time,” Kevin replied.

“Is she going to be okay?” Joel hadn’t meant to ask his question aloud, but as soon as Kevin heard his voice a smile grew on his face.

“Yeah, Lover Boy, she’ll be fine. She hasn’t really been up to do anything recently, but other than that I think she’ll be okay. She has to use her crutches again, which is honestly very entertaining,” Kevin stated before turning to leave the locker room, turning right as he got to the doorway, “random question, are you planning on going to G’s for the send off party tomorrow night?”

“Yeah, why?”

“Just wondering,” and with that Kevin was gone, leaving a confused Joel behind.

Kevin knew that you had a lot on your plate right now and that you wouldn’t want to go to anyone about your problems. He also knew that the both you and Joel, were simply too stubborn to fix the problem going on between you on your own, hence why he had mentioned something to Ryanne. He knew that Ryanne would jump at the chance to be able to help you feel better and as soon as she mentioned the party set-up idea, he was in. The plan was then mentioned to most of the team, knowing that the help of many was needed in order to help the two idiots.

…..

After sending Kevin a quick text that you were leaving, you left your apartment and made your way to Ryanne and Claude’s house. Gently knocking on the door, you smiled when Ryanne opened the door, “awe, babe, I’m so happy you’re here, I missed you so much.”

“I missed you, too. Not to be rude, but where is the tiny human?” you asked, looking past Ryanne to see Gavin walking towards you, “hi, bub. Oh my god, you’re getting so big.”

“Well if you came around more often, you’d get to see him more,” Ryanne mumbled, watching you play with the boy in front of you.

“I heard that,” you said, in a sing-song voice.

“You were supposed to,” she replied, mocking your tone, “anyways, Claude is on his way back from the store, so he’ll be here soon, but I haven’t talked to you in forever, how’s everything? How’s gym?”

“Oh, well. I’ve been better, this last meet definitely wasn’t all that great and not being able to train doesn’t really help my case either, but I’m making the most of it,” you said, shrugging.

“And you’re actually having to listen to Adrian this time around?” she said, pointedly, causing you to chuckle.

“Yeah, I have to actually listen to Adrian this time,” you smiled, “I hate that I have to actually wear my knee brace, though. And I have to use crutches. Can you believe that?”

“Considering it’s you, I’m more shocked that you’re actually using them.”

“Ry, shh, let’s not call me out too much today,” you replied.

It wasn’t too long before you heard the front door open, Claude walking in a few seconds later, “awe, it’s my favorite babysitter. Come on, babe, let’s leave while we can.”

“Haha, I almost forgot how funny you are, G,” you said, sarcastically.

“I’m sure, I’m sure. You know what would be nice though?”

“What?”

“Helping me put the groceries up,” he said, smiling sweetly causing you to groan.

“Are chores and babysitting all I’m good for to you?”

“Well,” he looked up to the ceiling, as if he were thinking for another answer,”hm, nothing comes to mind, y/n/n.”

“Oh, that was mean,” Ryanne said, playfully elbowing Claude.

“Thank-”

“She’ll never babysit again if we’re mean to her,” Ryanne smirked.

“Oh, wow, I see how it is, don’t worry,” you said, the three of you laughing.

As the three of you were setting out groceries - you mostly sitting on the kitchen island, taking things out of the bag - the three of you caught up. Claude talking about his hopes for these next few games, Ryanne talking about how Gavin was doing - not missing the few times Gav ran through the kitchen -, and you talking about whatever you could.

“Ok, so we haven’t brought this up yet, but I was just wondering if you had any idea what’s going on with Beezer? I know you guys had gotten closer recently and he’s just not himself, so I’m asking if you know anything,” Claude asked, closing the fridge before turning back to you. Both him and Ryanne had a pretty good idea of what happened, but if they were missing something, they wanted to know.

“Oh, um, well, about that one,” you sighed, gathering your thoughts, “me and him kinda haven’t talked since I told him I only wanted to be friends.”

“Ok, but from the looks of it, it looked like both of you wanted to be more than friends?”

“Yeah, but, there’s a lot more to it, you know.”

“No, actually, I’m a tad bit lost, y/n/n.”

“Look, I can’t have any distractions right now and I was worried about it affecting gymnastics, so I told him I only want to be friends.”

“That’s dumb,” Claude replied, quickly.

“Thank you, many people have mentioned that.”

“He has no place to talk in a situation like this,” Ryanne finally spoke up, causing you to look between the pair confused, “when his life was just hockey, hockey, and hockey, nothing could fill those spots. So, when our relationship was first starting he did the same thing to me that you’re doing to Bee.”

“This was supposed to be a philosophical moment and you messed it up,” Claude replied.

“I didn’t mess it up, you’re just mad because you basically called yourself dumb. But pushing him away isn’t a smart option and it just hurts both of you in the process,” Ryanne said before walking back to where Gavin was.

“Look, I know you said you didn’t want distractions, but this seems to be having a worse effect on you than you hoped. From the looks of it, when you started pushing him away, it affected your performance. Just pointing that out for you.”

“Yeah, I know. You didn’t have to point it out, you know.”

“Yeah, but you would have continued to ignore the obvious fact that you were just scared of a relationship in general,” he shrugged.

“I don’t even know how to talk to him about it or at least how to start the conversation.”

“Well, lucky for you,” he looked down to check his watch, “the guys are all coming over in like 10 minutes, so you’ll see him then.”

“Huh?”

“Yeah, it’s a send off party for the roadie this weekend, why do you think we got so many groceries?” and with that he left you in the kitchen by yourself.

…..

Joel sat in the backseat of Kevin’s car, Nolan in the passenger seat, as they made their way to G’s house. By the time they got there, most of the guys had already gotten there, seeing a few familiar cars in the driveway, but one stood out in particular. He knew that it was yours from some of the times he had seen you driving, “what’s y/n/n doing here?”

Nolan and Kevin both chuckled at that, “she came over here earlier to watch Gavin, I think,” Kevin said.

“Oh, cool,” Joel replied, attempting to sound nonchalant as possible

“Don’t try to act like you’re not freaking out. You aren’t slick, dude,” Nolan added, shaking his head, “you two better talk, too. Because everyone is tired of the two of you being idiots and not talking shit out.”

“We’re not idiots.”

“You are,” the other two said in unison. Joel didn’t try to argue as he followed the pair inside their captain’s house.

As soon as he entered the house, he took note that almost all the team was here, most of the team was outside, but he immediately found you sitting on one of the barstools with Gavin sitting on your lap as you talked with Ryanne. “Go talk to her,” Nolan whispered, causing him to jump.

“God, Pat. What the fuck?” Joel said turning around.

“I said what I said. You’ll have to talk at some point, might as well just do it. Plus, she’s on crutches, so like, if she wants to run away it will take her a while.”

“Um, that’s- I mean, that’s valid, but-”

“At some point today, you should talk to her. I obviously can’t make you and it’s up to you, but I think it would help fix things,” Nolan said, shrugging.

“Yeah, I know, I know. I plan on it.”

You and Ryanne had stayed inside with Gav since the boys were grilling outside, so when Nolan, Kevin, and Joel walked in, you were one of the first people to notice. Kevin made his way over to you almost as soon as he came in, “so, you enjoying the party?”

“Considering I didn’t know it was happening, sure I’m having a great time, Kev.”

“Well, I guess it’s a surprise party then,” you quickly shot him a glare, “surprise.”

As you heard the back door open, you looked up to see Joel already looking at you, shooting you a quick smile as he followed his teammate to go outside. “I swear, if all you guys do tonight is spare glances at each other and don’t talk, I’m going to lose it,” Ryanne said from beside you.

“I think everyone will, to be honest,” Kevin added, “well, I’m going outside. If you need any help, just let me know.”

The boys had a few different plans in place to get the two of you to talk; conveniently sending Joel in to help while you were inside, telling Joel to go help out inside, asking Joel to get Gavin, and as a last resort, make Joel jealous.

When everyone had been done eating, Claude asked some of the younger guys to help him clean up and bring out the cooler with drinks that was still inside. Joel had somehow conveniently avoided going inside while helping and when he did, he went straight to the kitchen and right back out. He wasn’t wanting to avoid you all night, but he didn’t know what to do. Shortly after, Claude had asked Joel to go in and get Gavin, somehow right as you had left Gavin with Ryanne, which also ruined that plan.

Ryanne knew that it would be suspicious if they kept trying those same plans. So instead, she basically forced you to go outside with her. She helped you get outside, Kevin shooting up from his chair to help you get down the stairs of the deck, “you don’t have to help me out, Kev.”

“Knowing you, you would trip and break something. You’re already hurt enough,” he said, causing you to roll your eyes. As Kevin looked up, he didn’t miss the way Joel lit up as he saw you, “hey, your boy is looking over here.”

Looking up, your eyes once again met his, to which you sent him a light smile, “yeah, he’s been watching me since I stepped out here.”

“y/n/n, you would only know that if you were looking at him, too.”

“Yeah, I never said that I wasn’t though.”

“You know, it’s obvious the two of you aren’t mad at each other or anything like that. So, why the fuck haven’t you talked yet?”

“Oh, um. Words are hard,” you said, walking away towards Travis and Nolan on your crutches.

“You’re literally on crutches, you aren’t moving that fast.”

“You know who else isn’t moving that fast?”

“y/n. I swear, if this is another your-”

“Your mom,” you yelled back to him.

“What is up with you and making your mom jokes?” Nolan asked as you got closer to them.

“They’re funny?”

“y/n/n just has the sense of humor of a middle school boy, that’s why her and Beezer got along so well,” Travis added, helping you move your crutches so you could sit down at the table they were at, “how are the crutches?”

“How’s your mom?” you laughed, causing the two of them to groan, “nah, they’re not fun. In any way shape or form.”

As you were talking to Nolan and Teeks, Kevin and Ryanne realized that none of the plans they had tried were working. Both of them knew that the only plan that would probably work was to make Joel jealous, so Kevin texted Carter, Morgan, Nolan, and Teeks to let them know that was the plan that they were going with.

“y/n looks really good today,” Carter said, causing Joel to spit out his drink.

“Better watch yourself, Hartsy,” Joel replied, shooting a glare towards his friend.

“I was just being honest, she really does. There’s nothing going on between you guys anymore, right?” Carter watched as Joel visibly tensed at the mention of what was happening between the two of you, knowing that the plan was working he continued, “I mean, if nothings going on between you two, then she’s single, right?”

“Well, I mean-” Joel stuttered out, “we haven’t talked in a while, but that doesn’t mean-”

“I’ll be right back, okay?” Carter said, making his way over to the table you were at, causing Nolan and TK to chuckle as they saw Joel’s face drop, “hey, y/n/n.”

“Hey, Hartsy, it’s been a minute. How is everything?” you smiled. You kept talking to the group around you for a while, not noticing the way Joel was becoming visibly angry. He didn’t want to seem jealous, but he assumed that Carter had been flirting with you this whole time, so he made the executive decision to talk to you now.

Since your back was facing him, you didn’t see him coming, but the three boys around you did, only trying to hide their smiles since the plan was actually working. “Hey y/n, can we talk?” he asked.

You turned around to finally face the boy you had been avoiding, “yeah, hold on a sec.” As you continued some of your conversation, Joel was getting more and more irritated, mostly because Carter was sending looks his way that he couldn’t exactly read. Joel, being the impatient person he was, pulled the chair you were sitting at away from the table, pulling you up to stand before lifting you up over his shoulder, “Bee, what the fuck?”

He simply ignored you as he carried you up the stairs and back inside his captain’s house. You tried pushing yourself off as he made his way up the stairs, but it was deemed useless when he just tightened his grip, “Farabee, I swear to god. I will hurt you.”

Eventually, he opened the door to the guest bathroom and gently set you down on the counter before locking the door, “what the fuck was that for? If you want to talk, you could have just waited a second. But no, you had to be all dramatic about it,” you said, rolling your eyes.

“Are you done?” Joel asked, crossing his arms and leaning back against the door.

“I mean, yeah. Are you?”

“Yeah, but I’m tired of us ignoring each other and I miss you, so we need to figure stuff out.”

“Awe, you miss me? That’s cute,” you smiled.

“y/n/n, I swear, now is not the time for that one.”

“Ok, sorry. I’ll be serious now,” you said, crossing your arms to mock him.

“I just want to know what happened at the lake?”

“Oh, we’re going straight to the point, alright,” you sighed, “look, what I said at the lake wasn’t true. I got this idea in my head that if you were in my life, you were a distraction from what I wanted.”

“How’d that work out for you?” he said, smirking.

“Oh, no, see that’s what we’re not going to do. No need for the attitude. Anyways, I had this idea that if anything happened between us, that I would mess it up and it would mess everything in my life up. So, pushing you away was the safest option.”

Joel took a moment to gather his thoughts before pushing himself off the door and made his way closer to you, ending up standing between your legs with his hands on either side of you, “look, I’m saying this and I mean it. I understand where you’re coming from with the fear of distractions thing, but I want you to know that I would never intentionally keep you from your goals and dreams. I’m just extra support, you know.”

“Yeah, I realized that after you ran from the lake house. We could have had this figured out by now, if you had stayed,” you said, sarcastically. Rolling your eyes for added dramatic effect.

“Oh, shut up. You have no place to talk, babe,” he said, smiling when he heard you giggle, “what was that for?”

“I kinda missed you calling me babe, I guess. Kinda crazy, dude.”

“Awe, so you did miss me?”

“I never said I didn’t,” you said, quietly reaching up to wrap your arms around his neck. You saw the way that his eyes went from your eyes to your lips, “I also missed this,” and with that you pulled him closer until your lips met in a long awaited kiss.

As the two of you broke away, your foreheads were still together, “hey, Bee?”

“Yeah?”

“You know who else I missed? Your mom,” you laughed.

“Way to ruin the moment, babe,” he smiled, “That was funny though, so I respect it.”

“Dude, I’m so funny sometimes.”

“Looks aren’t everything, babe,” he said, laughing at the gasp you responded with.

“Oh, that was rude. I’ll get you back one day though,” you watched as he went to leave the bathroom, “hey, Bee. I’m not supposed to walk without crutches, hate to break it to you.”

Rolling his eyes, he made his way back to you, turning around right in front of you, “here.” You leaned a little bit forward, wrapping your arms around his neck once again as he readjusted his grip on the back of your legs, so he could give you a piggyback ride on the way back outside.

“You know, they didn’t tell me there was a party,” you spoke as he made his way back towards the door.

“Oh, they said it was teammates only and then I saw your car,” he replied, pausing a moment as the two of you realized what had happened at the same time, “so, this was-”

“Yep.”

“And Hartsy saying he was going to ask you out was part of it?”

“Hartsy said he was going to do that,” you started cackling. “Wait, were you jealous of him?” you asked laughing even harder.

“It’s not funny.”

“Oh, yeah. I know, it’s hilarious.”

“I will drop you right now,” he said, as he opened the door for outside, “and you’ll stuck right here, Ms. ‘I can’t walk down stairs right now’.”

“That’s a low blow,” you said, as the two of you made your way back to the table you were at.

“Oops, sorry, babe,” he set you down close to your chair, but sat down before you could.

“Oh, so now you steal my chair, too?”

“Oh, shut up, you’re fine,” he said, pulling you to sit in his lap, “there you go.”

“So, I see the two of you made up?” Nolan asked, pointing at the two of you.

“We also made out, in case you were wondering,” Joel replied, earning an elbow to the stomach, “ow, that hurt.”

“Sucks to suck, babe,” you replied, causing the smile on his face to grow even more.

When Kevin and Ryanne watched the two of you walk back outside, they were happy to see that the plan worked. Ryanne simply laughed and shook her head as she heard the exchange between the two of you, “they are so in love and I don’t even think they realize it.”

“Ryanne, that is a big word, that I’m not prepared for. So, please, let’s not do that today,” Kevin replied, earning a laugh from Ryanne, “they’re happy though, that’s all that matters to me.”

I just rewatched “Death of the Undying” so here we go

When Riza collapses to the floor and starts sobbing, Al doesn’t hesitate. He steps in front of her, between her and Lust. He’s outclassed, hopelessly so, if she’d been able to kill both Mustang and Havoc, but he’s stubborn. At the very least, he can buy Riza some time to get out of here.

Lust babbles something about “candidates” and “portals,” but Al isn’t really paying attention. He’s too busy trying not to let her spear nails scratch his seal.

“Alphonse, go,” Riza says behind him.

“No.”

“Go.”

“I won’t!”

“Get out of here!”

“I’ve already lost one mom!” he shouts, and if he were able to, he knows he’d be crying. “I’m not going to lose you, too!” Lust tries to get Riza from around him, but his arm shoots out, taking the blow again. “I’m sick of watching people die, so I’m going to protect you!” He wrenches his arms away, cutting off large sections of his armor on Lust’s razor-sharp nails. He has the vague thought that Ed will yell at him for being so reckless later if they survive this.

“Well spoken,” says a voice he thought he’d never hear again. His eyes jerk towards the entrance of the room, and he sees Roy, shirt open and hand bleeding. “I couldn’t have said it better myself.”

Al claps his hands together to build a wall right before Roy flicks the lighter. He gathers Riza close to him, and he knows it can’t be comfortable, being held against hard metal like this, but Riza doesn’t struggle. She’s crying, again, and she’s obviously confused, but Al’s going to get her through this. Roy will take care of Lust, and Al will take care of Riza.

The screams are the worst. Al can’t sleep, and for once he’s glad of it, because at least he won’t have nightmares about this. He’s reminded of the kind of destruction Roy is capable of, of what he did in the civil war, and he’s glad, glad that this kind of power is in the hands of a man with a strong moral compass.

Because Roy just killed a homunculus.

He and Riza rush to his side when he falls. “We’ll call a medical team,” Riza promises him, clutching his still-bleeding hand with a white-knuckled grip. Al’s pretty sure it’s going to scar. “You’re going to be ok, Roy.”

“Take care of Havoc first,” Roy gasps, even though he carved a transmutation circle into his hand and cauterized his own wound before killing a supposedly immortal being.

Riza walks off to call for help, leaving Al and Roy alone. “Thank you,” Al says. “You saved us.”

“You’re my family,” Roy replies. “I didn’t have another option.”

And, oh, Al thinks. This is what a father is.

Roy is really his father, and Riza is really his mother.

He wishes he could cry. But he’ll just have to save that for when Ed gets him his body back.

So I’ve watched SPN 15x20 four days ago...

... And I want to share my opinion. And, it seems logical, but this will contain spoilers. And maybe some anger.

So, four days ago, I’ve watched the last episode of Supernatural. And I take some notes. I think I’ll begin with the positives points. It’s going to be quick.

Positives points :

- the agent’s names are the producer’s and director’s name (? I’m not sure about this one)

- The pie festival :D (When Dean talk about facing his destiny, I thought he was going to go to a Supernatural convention ! xD)

- Miracle (the dog)

- Dean who shows that is ok for a man to have feelings

Well, and now, be ready for the negatives points. It's going to be a bit longer. Sooo. Here they are. The Negatives points. In the order of the episode.

- Where is the f*cking “Carry On My Wayward Son” at the beginning ?! Where it is ? With Sam’s lost shoe ?! It’s unacceptable !

- The case is... well, vampires. Wow. So smart. (I don’t like it) (It’s like “hey, do you want to see a case with new ennemis but not so new because in fact John Winchester fought against them ? No ? Any way, you’ll watch it.”)

- The nail in the wooden pillar (who let this here ?!)

- Dean died. After a tearful speech, he died after 25 minutes (out of 43...) ! I don’t want him to die ! Where is Jack when we need him ?! He can’t ended like this ! Well, in fact, I understand but... no I still don't accept it.

- Where is the Saileen ? Sam love Eileen so why, in the fandom name, he don’t care about her after the episode 15x19 ?! Like hey, all the people who had disappeared have reappeared, but Sam don’t care about find her ? Can you just imagine her, lost in the middle of nowhere without her car or her phone (because Sam took it) ?! Poor Eileen ! She didn’t deserved that !

- Sam also didn’t care about Bobby and/or Charlie (and Stevie -Charlie’s girlfriend). Like, hey, you don’t want to know how are they ? You don’t care about them ? Well, I do ! (Later, we know for Bobby -he’s in Heaven- and that’s all. The scenarists be like : “Charlie ? Who the Hell is Charlie ?!”)

- Dean who said “It’s ok.”. Spoilers : No. No it’s not ok Dean ! You don’t deserved that ! You deserved an happy live with Castiel on Earth or at least in Heaven. Did he have that ? Nope ! - Bobby said that John Winchester is in Heaven. Am I the only who think he didn’t deserve to be there ? Ok, he is not the worst father in the Universe ('coz be worst than Chuck is not so easy), but he is clearly one of the worst of this universe in my opinion. Maybe it’s just me and maybe I’ve lost an episode, but well, if a f*cking demon (Azazel) is better and more nice than him, maybe he didn’t deserve his place in Heaven, didn’t he ?

- Not really negatives points but points who made me cry : “Sammy”, “I love you so much my baby brother”, “At least, it was always you and me” and the famous “it’s ok”.

- Also not a really negative point but when Sam... I mean Jared Padalecki made his little final speech (when he thank us all), am I the only one to yelling to my phone screen ? Like “LoL Sam what are U saying ? Put your ass in the Impala (Love U Baby) and go in a Family trip with your big bro (and maybe your mom ?) and let me cry because the show is ending.”.

(Me, literally 30 secondes later : “Ok, let’s rewatched all the Trickster episodes because I need it. I DON’T CARE IT’S 2 F*CKING A.M., I DON’T NEED SLEEP, SLEEP IS FOR HUMANS AND I’M NOT, ‘COZ I’M A FANENBY AND I NEED SOME GABRIEL’S SASS ! It’s for... my personal... mental health...”).

To conclude my essay, I will say that maybe it was me who had too high expectations for this final episode, but I'm still disappointed with this ending. What do you think about this ?

What was your last fight about? I spilled a drop of our dinner’s soup on the dinner table last Thursday and my mom did a sufficient job making me feel incompetent and a dumbass about it, so I was hurt by it and didn’t speak a word for the rest of the evening. Not really a fight, but y’know.

Do you text a lot? I used to not but anymore. I usually get prepaid for LTE now, not to have credits for texts.

Have you ever been screamed at by a teacher? Many times. A number of them didn’t like me for whatever reason...

Do you smile or scowl more? I definitely try to smile more, but idk for sure if that’s what I do more frequently.

Are you excited about Blink 182 getting back together? I don’t follow the band so I’m not sure how recent or relevant this news is, but generally speaking I don’t remember ever being stoked for a Blink-182 comeback in particular.

Would you rather be a teacher, a stripper or a hairdresser? I’d go with teacher, and preferably of history, so that I at least can have an hour or so to talk about my passion with other people lol.

The last person you spoke to: how many times have they made you cry? Just once.

What's your favorite kind of gum? The classic bubblegum flavor is fine with me.

Have you ever failed a class in school? Just exams, but never altogether an entire class that required me to retake.

Are you even in school? No, not anymore.

Are you taller then your best friend? No haha, I’m slightly tinier than both of them.

Are you scared of spiders? I’d be scared probably of the larger kinds, but all we get here are the super small spiders so this isn’t an issue for me for the most part.

You can't eat anything ever again except for jello or apples: which one? Probably apples. I cannot stand the texture of jelly/Jell-O, and I guess I can move past my dislike of fruits for this situation since apple is kinda decent anyway.

Have you ever cheated on anyone? No, never man.

Do you paint your nails often? I never do and I never have them done either.

Mascara or lipgloss? Er lipgloss I guess, since I literally don’t care how my eyelashes look.

Who’s the last person you called? I think it had been Denise, a co-worker.

Describe the last person who sent you a text: It was just the delivery guy who brought Ysa’s gift to my place, so I don’t know enough about him to be able to give a sufficient description.

Do you ever watch TV shows or movies on YouTube? No, because for the most part they would be high- or low-pitched, in a tiny screen, sped up, zoomed in, or altogether fake. I also don’t understand why buying movies individually on YouTube is still a thing when Netflix exists for literally cheaper.

Myspace or facebook? Uh Facebook, I guess.

How old were you when you lost your first tooth? I was around 5 or 6, I think.

Have you ever embarassed yourself in front of someone you like? Yeah. But when I started dating them, fucking up in front of them became less embarrassing, of course.

Describe your hair right now: Wet and slightly dripping since I just stepped out of the shower.

Do you like it when it rains? Yes, it’s my favorite weather.

Does anyone miss you right now? I hope my friends do...but I can’t say for sure.

How many funerals have you been to? None. Just wakes.

Where's your favorite place to hang out? Depends on the vibe I’m feeling for the day and the company I’ve got.

Do you like video games? What's your favorite one? I was raised around video games and so much of my childhood was watching my kuya, dad, and a number of my uncles completing games, so I definitely hold a big appreciation and fondness for them. I never inherited any skills of my own though lmao, so I mostly watch walkthroughs; and the only video games I’ve ever met considerable progress on are Nintendo games marketed for all audiences HAHAHA.

Have you ever worn something your parents wouldn't approve of? Yeah I’ve gotten chided by my mom a handful of times, telling me to cover up with a jacket or something. But her reasoning was always men, so I’m usually able to defend myself and say that that’s not my problem and that’s something fucking men have to deal with themselves. We both know I’m right so she ends up begrudgingly letting me go out with whatever outfit I choose on that given day.

Where are your sibling(s)? They are in their respective bedrooms.

When's the last time a friend got dumped/dumped someone? September. That friend was Gabie and the dumpee was me hahahah, does that count?

Do you celebrate Valentine's day? If I have a significant other, yeah. I like keeping our activities lowkey though because from all my past experiences, malls and restaurants tend to get fully booked on February 14 and it ends up being more of a (very crowded) hassle than a celebration.

Do you celebrate Christmas? Yep.

Does it snow where you live? Never.

Have you ever wanted a pet unicorn? I never did, actually.

Would you like to work to earn money, or simply have money given to you? The latter is obviously the ideal situation, but I recognize the importance of hard work too and constantly working on my skills.

If you could be on any game show, what one would it be? Jeopardy or Family Feud.

Do you know anyone whose famous? Yes, at least locally.

Do you read those gossip magazines? I used to, lol those were my guilty pleasures back then. I still keep up with celebrity updates, but I’ve moved to social media now. I also filter which publications I consume and avoid the tabloid-y ones like Daily Mail.

Summer or winter? I’d go with winter so that I can actually experience it for once.

What do you hear right now? I’m watching an archived Facebook livestream of a senior citizen who had held a virtual piano concert to raise funds to afford his maintenance medicine. The media ate it up like crazy and it’s since gone viral, so I was able to I read about him earlier tonight. He reminds me so much of my late grandpa so I quickly searched for the finished concert on Facebook and now I have it on :)

When's the last time you saw a cousin? Around two weeks ago.

Where were you the last time you left your house? I can’t remember exactly. I think I went to Feliz...OH OK I remember now - I originally went to the nearby SM to handle an LBC delivery for work, and to stay at Starbucks for a few hours also to work. After that I went to their vape stall to buy new pods but they didn’t have any for the vape brand I use, so I went to Feliz as well to try my chances there. They ended up having a few flavors but not what I usually get, so I decided to try a new one - grape lol.

Describe the room you are in: Dark, filled with the lovely sounds of piano music, and the faint smell coming from my scented candle. Overall, light and peaceful.

What shoes did you wear today? I wore my Onitsukas when I walked Cooper this morning.

THEATRE:HOME - 2:150 (thanks pandemic)

I usually separate out docs and fiction, but I watched almost no documentaries this year (with the exception of Dick Johnston). Reality is real enough.

TV Series

01 - BoJack Horseman (final season) - Pretty damned poignant finish to the show, replete with actual consequences for our reformed bad boy protagonist (which is more than you can say for most antiheroes of Peak TV).

02 - *Hello Ladies - I enjoy the pure awkwardness of seeing Stephen Merchant try to perform being a Regular Person, but ultimately this show tips him too far towards a nasty, Ricky Gervais-lite sort of persona. Perhaps he was always best as a cameo appearance, or lip synching with wild eyes while Chrissy Teigen giggles?

03 - Olive Kittredge - a rough watch by times. I read the book as well, later in the year. Frances Mcdormand was the best, possibly the only, casting option for the flinty lead. One episode tips into thriller territory, which is a shock.

04 - *The Wire S3, S4, S5 - lockdown culture! It was interesting to rewatch this, then a few months later go through an enormous, culture-level reappraisal of cop-centred narratives.

05 - Forever - a Maya Rudolph/Fred Armisen joint that coasts on the charm of its leads. The premise is OK, but I wasn’t left wanting any more at the end.

06 - *Catastrophe - a rewatch when my partner decided he wanted to see it, too!

07 - Red Oak - resolutely “OK” steaming dramedy, relied heavily on some pretty obvious cues to get across its 1980s setting.

08 - Little Fires Everywhere - gulped this one down while in 14-day isolation, delicious! Every 90s suburban mom had that SUV, but not all of them had the requisite **secrets**

09 - The Great - fun historical comedy/drama! Costumes: lush. Actors: amusing. Race-blind casting: refreshing!

10 - The Crown S4 - this is the season everyone lost their everloving shit for, since it’s finally recent enough history that a fair chunk of the viewing audience is liable to recall it happening.

11 - Ted Lasso - we resisted this one for a while (thought I did enjoy the ad campaign for NBC sports (!!) that it was based on). My view is that its best point was the comfort that the men on the show have (or develop, throughout the season) with the acknowledgement and sharing of their own feelings. Masculinity redux.

12 - Moonbase 8 - Goodnatured in a way that makes you certain they will be crushed.

13 - The Good Lord Bird - Ethan Hawke is really aging into the character actor we always hoped he would be!

14 - Hollywood - frothy wish-fulfillment alternate history. I think the show would have been improved immeasurably by skipping the final episode.

Episode 2: the Light of the Eyelid

This is one of my favorite episodes, I’m so excited to rewatch it

I just absolutely love the river of light

I hate that the little girl’s parents are like yup best solution to this problem is to LOCK OUR CHILD IN A FREAKING SHED!!!!!!

I love the concept of having a second eyelid which allows you to see the river of light

I want that eyelid

You know what? I just want a bunch of eyelids. Like ducks. Ducks have multiple eyelids right? One so I can see underwater and one so I can see the river of light and then obviously my regular one

Heck yeah my pizza rolls just came out of the oven

So does closing your second eyelid come naturally to people who can see mushi? Because the eye disease mushi must be a prevalent problem if so

If I could see the river I’d stare at it forever

Love that Ginko is just ominously there telling her not to go closer

Why doesn’t he tell her to stop looking at it???

This poor kid so concerned about his cousin and just wants her to not be lonely being locked up in a shed

Ginko tells her he’s coming... how the heck does he know where they live??? Cuz he says that before the boy gets sick so I don’t think it was the parents that called him there

Did he just say “hey, I’m coming, where do you live?”

How far does Ginko travel? I’d love to see a map of his travels across Japan

BAD!!! BAD SOUND WHEN IT SHOWS THE BOY CONTRACTING THE EYE MUSHI!!! DONT LIKE THAT AT ALL

The mom thinks he’s caught the disease from his cousin so why don’t they just put him in the shed too? They already have one child locked up in there and think that’s the best solution

NO DONT LOOK AT THE RIVER YOULL LOSE YOUR EYES

Dude, imagine this strange man just showing up randomly and administering medicine to your sick child while you’re gone

I feel like Ginko needs to gain some boundaries cuz he has none

Dang this child feels so guilty about her cousin getting infected she just walks right into the river of light

Okay, so these mushi aren’t necessarily caused by looking at the river of light like I was thinking, they just multiply in the dark

This kid instantly is like nope, Ginko can’t be the one my cousin told me about cuz he has both eyes

I feel like if this guy came and talked about the river of light and said he saw your cousin and talked to her I’d believe it was him

Why does Ginko want to wait until after the sun sets to start the treatment? Also he doesn’t even check on the girl until then??? I’d want to at least check on her as soon as I got there to let her know what’s going on even if I was gonna give the treatment later

Ginko feels like in modern times he’d be a black market doctor

Or just a really weird microbiologist

Ooh I forgot how freaky her eyes are when they’re gone and the smoke is coming out

Ginko: upset that she went into the river when he told her not to

Also Ginko: doesn’t check on her right when he gets there and find her cousin has been infected which logically would make her feel guilty about causing it

Ginko puts a single black glove on... I’m so attracted to this man

So your eyeballs get consumed if you close your second eyelid for too long, but is it the mushi that devour them or does looking at the river of light just cause them to decay?

Oh, he’s using the moonlight to lure the mushi out, that’s why it has to be at night. Ok.

I don’t like the look of the black eye sockets, but at least they don’t depict it like if the actual eye socket was showing. That would be worse.

Is it just me or does the silvery ooey gooey mushi look really cool and I just wanna touch it so bad

Dang Ginko must have lighting fast reflexes to catch that mushi in the stream of silvery ooey gooey stuff

The poor kid just watching this stuff coming out of his cousin’s eyes. I’d be traumatized for life

His cousin is probably traumatized for life having been LOCKED IN A SHED

Ginko just takes out his fake eye

If he can inject that silvery mushi stuff into the fake eye to make it work then why didn’t he do it for the eye when he was wearing it?

Does the reason he lost his eye make it so a fake eye wouldn’t work on him?

Or maybe the silver mushi stuff he injects in the eye has to be from the person the eye will be in? And he doesn’t have his own silver mushi to inject?

Also why does he never get another fake eye for the rest of the series?

I wonder if at one point Ginko thinks that this same situation is what caused him to lose his eye since he doesn’t remember how he lost it

So everyone could see the river of light at one point, but humans have just forgotten

I’d definitely lose my eyes staring at the river

Oh see! The kid thinks Ginko might have lost his eye that way! And Ginko is then shown looking at his reflection of his missing eye! I bet he totally wonders if that’s how he lost his eye!

I love that Ginko likes to just chill by the river of light. I wonder how often he does that.

Definitely one of my favorite episodes mainly because I’m obsessed with the river of light, it’s just so cool

One Fine Day 3/8

Fandom: The Karate Kid, Cobra Kai, Johnny Lawrence

Rating: T

Summary: An AU of Johnny Lawrence getting his redemption much sooner and Billy Zabka gets to be the romantic lead. In 1988 former West Valley alum Laurie Thompson reunites with her high school crush Johnny Lawrence in college. Becoming his tutor the two grow close and she learns more about the real him and his side of the story. As she helps him with school she also helps him with his life and letting go of things from the past, while also falling in love. Multiple characters mentioned, others will appear. Title is the song by The Chiffons.

Author’s Note: Thanks again everyone for all the likes and reading!!! :D I’m so happy with how this story has been. Also for those wondering about why I had Johnny playing soccer it’s such a weird thing rewatching “The Karate Kid” and noticing he and all the Cobra Kai boys were also on West Valley’s soccer team, and yet the show never makes mention of it besides Johnny making fun of Tommy watching soccer. LOL :) This chapter was so fun to write and back to Laurie’s POV.

Chapter 3

Over the next couple weeks Laurie and Johnny got into a routine as they met up each Tuesday and Thursday at the library for their tutoring sessions. She would help him with things he didn’t understand from his lectures and with his homework. Noting he seemed to have some comprehension issues she used a technique she learned to use associations for various things. If it was math she got to him equate it to karate or sports. Science was a bit harder but they made progress.

It actually surprised Laurie how well Johnny and her got along. Taken away from all the influences from their teen years he was more forward and seemed to be more confident like the old Johnny. Playing on the soccer team must have helped too as he had a new coach and teammates in his life.

Maybe it was also with Laurie being a psych major but she could already see good changes in him. As long as he applied himself to his school work everything would go well.

It also helped being in one of the private study rooms. There was no librarians telling them to be quiet as the room was sound proof. Laurie was still amazed she could even handle being in the same room with him. That crush didn’t go away and if anything it was getting stronger. Spending all this alone time with him and seeing the real Johnny was making her fall even harder. Deep down she knew he was kind and did care about others, he just always masked it to fit in and she loved seeing that again.

As October began he was doing much better in his classes and the soccer team was doing well, though most of campus really cared about the football team. That particular day he came into the study room with a huge grin on his face.

“Does that mean what I think it means?” She asked.

He handed her his paper. “I got a B+ on the test!”

She looked at the paper and back up at him. “Oh my God Johnny, that’s awesome!”

“I haven’t gotten a grade that good in years.” He said in amazement as he sat down next to her.

“See, I knew you do it.” Laurie said congratulating him.

“Thanks.” He replied. “We should go out and celebrate. I know this place that had amazing hot fudge sundaes.”

She stared at him in shock. Did he just ask her out? He said “we” but he did well on that test and she tutored him. It wasn’t a date. “Yeah, I’m in.”

“Great, but I know we have to finish studying first.” He gave her a grin.

“Of course, the semester isn’t over.”

Afterwards they went to his car, that same red car he had in high school, and he drove her a ways off campus to a diner he liked to go to. This was the first time she’d ever been in his car and it was exactly how she pictured it. He had rock music blasting and the windows down with his sunglasses on. This all felt like some crazy fantasy she’d had over the years. She actually heard him singing along on the radio and tried to hide how happy she was feeling that his was real.

He was right as after they got there the food was good and the sundaes were amazing. She laughed at him getting a Coors Banquet though with his burger and fries while she had a Cherry Coke. Some things never changed.

“I can’t believe how good this is.” She said eating her sundae.

“Told you.” Johnny said with that smirk again that almost killed her every time.

“I don’t think there’s a place like this back home.”

“Yeah,” he agreed. “Have you gone back lately?”

“Just this past summer to see my parents and brothers. I’ve lost touch with a lot of friends.” She admitted but that’s usually how it went after high school.

He nodded a bit sad. “Me too. I did see Tommy and Bobby this summer. Really only go though to see my mom, preferably without my step-dad.”

She saw the look on his face, one of disgust. “Is he bad?”

“The worst.”

“What about you dad?” She asked curious.

“Don’t know him.” He admitted.

“Oh, I’m sorry.” She apologized and hoped she didn’t hit a nerve.

“It’s ok. I never really knew him so I don’t know what I’d miss.” He smiled a sad smile and she fought the urge in her to hug him. There seemed to be a deep sadness in him but now wasn’t the time to pry.

“Do you keep in touch with the other guys? Besides Tommy and Bobby?”

“A little”. He admitted. “It is hard with all of us in different places. They’re all doing good. Miss hanging out with them.”

“You were always all together in school.” She remembered watching them fondly.

“We were brothers. Went through a lot of shit Not just with LaRusso.” He said and left it there. There was something he wasn’t saying though.

“Oh Daniel.” She said remembering that too.

“Don’t tell me you were friends?” He said annoyed.

She laughed. “Daniel was nice but I just knew him in passing. And everything with your karate stuff.” She hesitated before adding. ‘And with Ali.”

“Yeah,” he said dejected and turned his face down to play with his spoon in the remnants of his sundae.

Laurie took a breath before saying what she wanted to. “I never understood it. Ali broke up with you and then got with Daniel. You were one of the most popular boys in school and she went with him.”

Johnny looked up at her surprised. “You didn’t like LaRusso like that?”

“What? No, he looked like he was twelve!”

They both burst out laughing at that. “He really did look like he was twelve.” Johnny agreed. Then he added, “So who did you like?”

Laurie didn’t know what to say but felt a blush creep over her face as he stared at her. Her heart was telling her to say “You!” but she said instead, “I plead the 5th.”

Johnny just laughed again and shook his head. She had a feeling he knew the truth but thankfully he changed the subject.
