Oh God, i completely forgot to mention in my last review about my feelings towards Miranda! I was so caught up with theories and my love for Cass and all the other things, so it slipped my mind, but here i am! Again. Sorry if im being too invested and write too much, id probably get bored of myself already(:

So. I know Miranda is like the main villain and all, but since last month ive been reading a lot about her, watching, investigating and im not embarrassed to say i love this character almost as much as i love the Dimitrescus. It pains me to see so little fics written about her as the main character, truly. Yes, she's the villain, yes, she's hurt a lot of people, killed a lot, but so did the sisters? The Lady D? So if we can redeem them, even if their motives are just hunger, sure as hell we can forgive Miri her urge to bring her daughter back. Her daughter! And now im embarrassed to say that id probably do the same thing if a had a chance to bring my loved ones back, even if i dont have kids rn. Sad, but true. I think most of us would try to.

So what im trying to say, is that when i first started to read LPA i was like yes, Miranda can go to hell, but now, when i got the whole picture and i really know the character the game gave us i have to say i love her a lot and that now i have to shove my feelings for her out out the window when i read such works where she's supposed to be hated. But its okay really, im used to it by now:D

And so im really disappointed to see how little fics are out there about Miranda and mcs being together, bringing Eva back, loving each other dearly (because i certainly would!), caring about each other. Where mc makes her feel better, wiser, truly happier. Ive see like one fic about that and thats just it, no more. Thats so sad and makes me kinda want to write something myself but im too busy with finals right now.

But anyways, even if Mother Miranda is a bitch sometimes i love Miri dearly. And i get why she receives hate so much (not literally but you get the idea) but i just love her as a character. I even started drawing her portrait on my wall right next to Dani's and let me tell you - her wings are a missive pain in the ass even tho i adore them. All those little feathers and lights they reflect, jeez, so hard to pain! Still worth it tho.

And she's so divine and so godly and strong and beautiful and powerful. And she's so smart! God, she's so smart. And when she grins evilly just like that-

as much as i've said i don't like her and call her a feathery bitch in my writing, miranda is still a very intriguing character. like, have you read her lore? homegirl was deadass about to kill herself because she lost her daughter and couldn't save her. also, i imagine a lot of the extent she goes to in order to revive eva is because of the mold, since I'm assuming it definitely alters peoples' minds and makes them cruel (like the bakers in RE7)

a lot of people in fics, i've noticed, tend to make her out to be a 2D antagonist who does horrible stuff just because she can. in LPA (and later in TPtM), I've tried to give her very good reasons for what she does. losing her loved ones over and over, being unable to revive them, no matter what you do... that takes a toll on people, and miri's been alive for over a century, if I'm not mistaken. she's just traumatized and wants her family back

but, you're completely right. we forgive lady d and her daughters for being cruel and write off their horrible actions, but many can't do the same for miri? she has motives behind her actions, even in canon, and she's a very good villain. she deserved more screen time than what she got

we need more fics of miranda and the mc being together and being *happy*. she deserves it after everything she's gone through. she deserves to hold her daughter again

i'd definitely love to see your paintings one day! I'm sure they look lovely and you probably capture them so well <3 i can only imagine how difficult the details of her feathers are, but you've got this! and, maybe when you have some free time, you could be the one to write that happy fic with miri and her love?

dick is the eldest so he doesnt want to bog down his younger siblings with his problems, but if he DOES, he tends to talk to jason about it

dick and cass start to really begin to bond when Cass shows up to dicks gymnastics class for 3rd-6th graders and then cass shows up all the sixth graders and they get frozen yogurt after lmao

dick and tim are Very much thick as thieves. tim is very much like bruce on the Emotional Suppression scale, so dick just really wants to make sure his little brother is safe and happy ALL the time

Duke and Damian are the only two really permanently at the manor anymore, so when dick drops by he tries to do something with both of them. duke frantically zoom calls dick every other week to help him with his his trig homework. dick shows up to dukes high school graduation with literally the BIGGEST SIGN

everyone insists damian is dicks favorite but he does actually genuinely love all his siblings equally, his relationship with damian is just Very different from the others because of the age gap and being dami's primary caretaker for a year. dick babies dami every chance he gets

him and cass don't have the greatest start to their relationship because cass is very much Against Killing so it takes a while for jason to warm up to her and earn her trust. now, though, jason is competing with steph by showing cass all the classic American Teenager things she missed out on. steph is currently winning but jason is like 98% positive a crunch wrap from taco bell is going to push him over the edge

tim and jason are currently competing over who can solve the most cases in a month. tim is winning. that won't last long.

it actually really upset her when Dick didn't accept her at first. she knows her other siblings really adore dick so his lack of trust was really disheartening. it takes dick a while but once he Actually Accepts that cass is going to be a permanent part of their life and oh, wow, dick you really hurt her feelings he really hyperfocuses on bonding with cass for a couple of months which definitely improves their relationship

she really likes jason!! their relationship doesn't start well but because he's close with steph and tim who are cass's top two favorite people to exist ever, cass is like well i GUESS ill hang out with him more. jason is fun to talk to because he always tries his best to explain jokes and give context to what people are talking about (also tim took her to taco bell already but she didn't tell jason she just wanted to hang out)

cass LOVES tim. they just click okay. tim always seems to know when to give her space and when to push and come closer. Tim's "guest room" is just her room lets be real. tim and cass occasionally get mistaken for twins and Cass Loves it.

duke makes cass listen to metal once and cass loses. her. damn. mind. they bond over music a lot because they both Love Music to a degree the others in their family don't.

damian!! damian is her little brother!!! dami isn't As Hostile to cass at first because he is 100% aware cass has the edge in fighting and respects her. cass likes all of his instagram posts and they have a snapchat streak going

tim Loves dick, dick was his first sibling!! he had Very strong hero worship when he first met dick but it mellowed out when tim got older because wow 17 is really not that cool and mature lol. tim has an open invitation to dick's apartment which he does occasionally take advantage of. tim has more than once scared the shit out of wally when wally comes over and wally is convinced they're being robbed (HA) for half a second. i mean. he's not wrong.

listen. tim understands that forgiving the guy who tried to kill you would be a Struggle for some people and it was! definitely! but also at least he can trust jason to, uh, be open about if he doesn't like tim. which is not an assurance he has with other people. so if the guy who tried to kill him tells him tim is cool now then like. maybe tim isn't that bad or annoying a person? also jason arrested a whole gang and won the cases competition but then it created a power vacuum that the whole batfam had to clean up the rest of the month. thanks, jason.

tim LOVES cass. you know how most of the time theres this empty feeling inside you and you just kind of ignore it because you don't know what will fix it or if you do, you know you can't fix it? cass makes that empty feeling feel a little less empty. they just click. tim always tries to travel with cass whenever she leaves gotham.

tim and duke. Tim is actually the sibling who duke goes to whenever he has questions he doesn't want to ask bruce or alfred about, like, life or vigilante-ing or school or college or whatever and Tim is always like yes!! i love Giving Advice and Solving Problems!! tim and duke and jason fill out their college applications together.

tim and damian. LMAO. ROUGH START THAT'S ALL ILL SAY. at some point alfred goes like fuck it. family therapy. and tim and dami are PISSED. tim and damian get along best when they have a common enemy to work against. their relationship gets much better when damian is older and they actually talk about their feelings like emotionally stunted bats. despite how bad their relationship was, tim will ALWAYS protect damian

duke

very much intimidated by dick at first. dick is so much older and has his own job and friends and life and is very much AN ADULT. dick likes to take duke out to do lots of cool stuff (paintball, lasertag, tech exhibitions, concerts, etc). also, dick PERSONALLY introduced duke to superman and is dating THE FLASH. 10/10 awesome big brother.

was intimidated by jason for 0.5 seconds before jason actually opened his mouth and started speaking. jason is literally. So Embarrassing. which is weird because nobody else really seems to feel that way about jason but duke knows he's 100% in the right here. like yeah jason is also An Adult and does Adult Stuff but he's also at the manor like every other weekend???? and he always complains about bruce but always seems to be in the same room bruce is in????? like okay jason. they bond over literature!! jason and duke and alfred will spend literal hours talking about books and duke loves it. duke is the only one who doesn't think jason is funny and jason gets so upset about it lmao.

cass has this one week where she gets really into photography and by virtue of being nearby (and also not nocturnal), duke becomes her victim subject. duke prints out all the pictures and hangs them up in his room (his favorite is one he took when he stole the camera and took a really bad selfie of them together).

tim is closest in age to duke so duke tends to hang around with him a lot. tim introduced duke to his young justice friends and duke is like yes!!! meta-friends!!!! tim really helps duke out with his powers because tim is always like wow i wonder if your powers would work if we did This? can you see farther than other people? is your visible spectrum of light different than other humans? Bruce does the same thing but bruce is boring about it lol.

damian and duke live in the same house and will be in the same room and just send each other social media posts back and forth. they follow each other on instagram and will, OCCASIONALLY, make tik toks together because they're tik tok fiends. each of his siblings have visited his parents once or twice but damian routinely comes with him.

damian

damian gets a special bullet point to say that it took him. forever to come around to the idea of having siblings. he very much believed that he was Bruce's Blood Son and everyone else were just tagalongs or allies. it took him ages to acknowledge that dick, jason, tim, and cass were his siblings, so when duke came and like a week later damian was like Ah, Yes, this is my brother Thomas everyone else was like dude wtf

listen. LISTEN. Obviously. Richard is very highly skilled. and also Father values him highly. and also Richard will listen to Damian complain about his schoolmates. and also Richard is much more patient with Damian than other members of his family. listen....,,, (all this to say damian kind of fucking adores dick lmaooooo this kid).

Todd is kind of unbearable but damian has been informed this is both a normal feeling when it comes to Todd and also big brothers. damian was an only child for ten years so yes, Father, if Todd attempts to tickle me I WILL break his fucking nose. yes i WILL put money in the swear jar but I want you to know i don't regret it. they always try to sneak up on each other but mostly fail.

DRAKE!!! but no lol once damian grows up and is like I Apologize for attempting to murder you it was wrong and you are just as much a son to Father as I am tim is like UGH i guess its cool since ur being so emotionally mature and all. also im 2 for 5 on siblings trying to murder me so im definitely going to win trauma bingo and damian is like i take it back you are insufferable. CASS!!! listen. cass is cool. Cass Gets It. They have a special Bond. also damian really likes it whenever cass is home because 1) he gets to hang out and do something cool with cass and 2) he feels significantly safer with cass in the house because Nobody will be able to hurt any of their family if Cass is there. ALSO he tries to call her cain but everyone is like DONT DO THAT and he doesn't want to call her wayne bcus theyre ALL wayne (dick adds it on as a middle name but also Richard John Wayne West-Grayson is just. the lamest name ever so dick needs to reconsider it before his upcoming nuptials)((dick will not reconsider it except maybe whether grayson-west would work better)) and so he tries cassandra but cass is like :) call me cass and damian is like cassandra is more formal and respectful and cass is like :) and finally damian just has to give in.

Duke! him and duke actually live together so they get the Most Bonding Time and have a bunch of inside jokes as a result. (is it bad i wanted to laugh because inside jokes... joker... i'll see myself out). they're eating breakfast together (and also alfred sits with them IM NOT A MONSTER ALFIE'S LIKE 70 NOW OKAY) and duke laughs and bruce is like what are you laughing at, son? and duke is like oh damian just showed me this funny meme and then he shows the phone to bruce and bruce grabs it (both the boys groan) and after WAY TOO LONG is like "i don't get it" and so now duke and damian have to try and explain the comedic intricacy of bob's burgers

I’m white so it might not be my place to say. But it really seems like Duke, Cass, and Damian’s constant mischaracterization within fandom is all about shoving them into the only archetypes readers can see them fitting into based on their race. Like...Cass being martial arts based and mostly nonverbal is probably already kind of stereotyping on the part of her creators, but the fandoms remaking of her as a quiet and demure little nonentity when she’s historically been a full of herself little shit. Or, like, Duke being made into “the calm sensible one” when he’s just as Batshit (pun intended) as everyone else in Gotham really just seems like him getting put into the “witty black guy serving as voice of reason for a bunch of white people” box. And I can’t even begin to parse out Damian’s simultaneous CONSTANT whitewashing andvilification for his ethnicity.

hoo boy this one is MEATY. In short: You're right, and your right for saying it. But you obviously brought your take to me for a reason, so lemme offer ya my perspective. As a person of color.

It's fairly easy to recognize racism in canon since a.) we know exactly who's writing (usually an old white cishet guy :/) b.) we as the audience tend to use actual critical thinking skills more often with official works, we actually pay attention to and can identify racist subtext much easier. And this is a general statement for all fandoms but like,,, when people consume fan content, they tend to turn the critical thinking switch off -- which is fine! totally fair because fanart, fanfiction, headcanons? thats all for self-indulgence more than anything.

Now since fandoms are much more prominent on platforms like Twitter and Tumblr you’d imagine people would display more awareness for racist/misogynistic/bigoted subtext, considering these sites are known to host people who are,,, well, socially aware is how I’d put it. (don’t believe me? take a trip down to some Reddit discussions. it can shrivel your soul) Uhhhh... but sometimes I find the double standard in fans so offputting.

For more Batman-fandom specific racism,,, it’s kinda a lot actually. Listen, listen comic books are kinda racist sometimes. It’s an old medium, and has had a long line of old white guys penning them, it’s just a thing. Not a good thing, but what’s been printed just is y’know? I see a lot of these racist storylines or characterizations from old and I just cringe and move on bc a lot of the problematic writers are out of the game now, and in modern books we can go harass the creative team on Twitter. That’s in the bag. But in the actual fandom? Like i said, people don’t really think. they don’t understand or just don’t care if their art/writing/hcs are problematic bc it was made for fun - being morally correct isn’t really a concern. (especially considering we got murder/abuse sympathizers in this one but lest definatly not get into that agian--)

Since you mentioned some specific ones I’ll talk about them for a sec. Takes like “Cass Cain is the most powerful baddest b*tch in the fam and she can do no wrong at all” but also portray her as only existing to support her brothers or Steph is a huge disservice to her entire character. Like yeAH Cass is obviously the best fighter in the fam but there is so much more to her than that! (actually now that the cat’s outta the bag, i’m a lil wary of Cass ships in general bc SO OFTEN they use her as just a prop for the other partner and im just hhhhh ok back on track) and lemme be real with ya, the reason Cass is so often portrayed like this because they are blatantly riffing on the “Dragon Lady” and Asian houswife tropes. (now Cassie defs has some dragon lady as a part of her base character/backstory but, her solo actually worked to make her way less one dimensional.) And while I’m still talking about Cass and how she’s always portrayed as the perfect Good Daughter-- I feel like it’s kinda a lil just maybe a bit sexist to portray female characters as flawless since it’s kinda takes away a central part of their character that humanizes them perhaps? I know I was just talking about how some people unecessarily emphasize female character’s problems but I feel like the opposite is true as well where some people gloss over their issues and make them out to be too good for anyone unproblematic queens. I see it a lot with the Batgirl trio and honestly I’m annoyed by it a little bit. Flaws make a human too, and depicting females without them feels like taking a piece of their humanity, if you get what I mean? I just wanna be able to relate to the ladies being crappy! I have enough self awarness to want that.

Okay back on the rails for reals now haha! I ALSO see that people sorta box Duke into the stoic black guy trope a lot too which is also.. yanno... racist? Duke is definiely as insane as the rest of the fam- homie jumped off a bridge from a moving police car. Honestly that trope kinda reads to me like they either don’t care about Duke, or just don’t wanna let him have fun too? (ok adding this but I don’t wanna sound hypocritical or anything bc I know I hardly talk about Duke either. I just.. don’t have any strong opinions on him? I feel kinda bad but also,, i can talk about what i want. That being said i will talk about how he gets the sh*tty end of the stick which homeslice doesn’t deserve)

With Damian, it’s not even disguised, just plain racism. Nothing I can say more than that regarding his villification based on his backstory and ethnicity. The whitewashing though... uh okay so listen closely. Lisght skinned Arabs do exist but is it proper representation to depict him as white passing? no. I’m not Arab but lemme explain it to you in terms I know. In India, colorism is a really BIG problem. Most Bollywood stars you’ll see are very fair skinned for an Indian, and they’re praised for that specifically. Sometimes when I tune into whatever program my Mom is watching, ads for skin whitening treatments come on and it’s so strange. Like, as a more overt example, dark skinned people are considered “dirty” in some castes. (note, I didn’t grow up in India, that is from my parent’s accounts) Soo rounding back to Batman, a lot of Damian’s whitewashing is also rooted in colorism. Which is why I feel like drawing him with darker skin is much more fair representation.

This is getting really long but I really wanna mention this just to kill (what? 5) birds with one stone. But i feel like some of the fandom’s racebends are pretty... sus. the Latino!Jason headcanon in particular kinda feels not right to me. It’s just, did they decide he was Latino because he was a street kid? because he’s more rough and violent? Guys that’s kinda stereotyping... Also that one hc with Tim as an asian? I’m lukewarm on it. obviously riffing on the “smart asian” thing (and i’ll admit it’s not wholly inaccurate this coming from a rather unintelligent indian) but it’s still really i dunno... it’s based on racist stereotypes. And look. Racebending is great! I do it too! (Tim Kon and Dick are drawn with darker skin sometimes cuz ur local brown girl is feeling self indulgent haha) but I feel like if you’re gonna racebend, maybe don’t do it in an obviously racist way maybe?

Anyways the true takeaway from this crazy long wall of text is that fandoms are racist sometimes. And problematic in a bunch of different ways. The Batfandom is no exception apparently, and that should be called out. which I just did. great job me! and you too anon

speaking of ur cass playlist hc...reminds of the time (yesterday) i found 2 playlists randomly on spotify from the same user. one was abt 3 hours of instrumental/classical "dark" & "nostalgic" music. the other almost 11 hours of nothing but hardcore bass/synth/electronic music. just an incredible tightrope act to put on in public. the synth one was also called like "psalms for synth sluts" which is Also incredible

finally watched once a handmaiden & i know a lot of drama and stuff went down but all i can think of is wtf is cassandra doing with adira and hector?? do they just lurk around her castle all day?? or does she shove them in a closet??? is she even feeding them???? im so worried about the bros okay

THIS IS MY KINDA ASK, I’VE BEEN THINKIN’ ABOUT THIS

The Mind Trap, and mind control in general, is a bit like the truth serum imo-because it’s a fine trope for a cartoon, but when you consider it seriously, it’s actually really messed up.

And I got a bit wordy/a bit angsty, so more thoughts below the cut!

On one hand, Cass (and ZT) needs to keep Hector and Adira in ‘good condition’ if they’re going to be of any use as soldiers. But humans require a lot of upkeep. And these are two people that Cass dislikes to varying degrees.

I can see her having them act autonomously to fulfill basic needs like eating and drinking, but subtly, perhaps subconsciously or unintentionally, dehumanizing them and neglecting anything more than that. Like what about bathing? Treating minor injuries? For Hector, tending to his animals? They both wear paint and braid their hair, with Adira’s hairstyle being quite complex- do you think Cass would bother with having them keep up with that?

Other practical considerations- they had to get to her fortress from their locations somehow. Do we think she had them stop to eat or sleep while they were traveling, or forgo any breaks or rest to make better time? Hector has a rhino, but did Adira have to walk all that way…? The places we saw each of them last are presumably far from Corona.

Speculation aside, I imagine once they reached her fortress post-RttS, she had them on stand-by waiting for further commands and just… staring at a wall in some corner.And as of the most recent ep, I’d guess she probably has them patrolling Corona or standing guard in anticipation of the mains making a move. Alternatively, standing on either side of her new throne would be a power move and I was low-key expecting to see them there or at the door at the end of the last ep.

ok so!! this courier is my house courier! hes not like Big Capitalist in Fancy Suit or anything. he’s more “man in his early 40s is tired and just wanted to help people while simultaneously not wanting to wake up to getting shot at”. he doesnt wear suits often, either.

in terms of his personality, hes kinda abrasive but a well-intentioned abrasive. it sometimes comes across as being a huge dick but hes genuinely not trying to be- most of the things he says is just to help. he also thinks VERY long term, which is why he sided with house. hes more relaxed in regard to the ncr, but he doesnt like the legion all that much. he finds house’s ego kinda not great but he still respects him a lot more than the others.

hes really good with scientific stuff and repairing weapons, but hes not a nerd or anything. he doesnt even like math. he just knows what hes talking about. he uses guns, too, cause he doesnt like to get close enough to people when fighting them.

his protegee!!!! is an ex-fiend. shes in her late teens, and she wasnt like. born into the fiend stuff. she just got high a lot and made fiend friends so thats how she became a fiend. but she tended to be a lot chiller than the other fiends. thats why the two didnt like. fight or anything. cause shes not like automatically hostile, they gotta shoot first and he didnt so. and plus she wanted to see vegas and take a shower.

shes actually pretty quiet and introspective once shes away from the fiends. shes kinda a social chameleon tbh. like around the fiends shes loud + obnoxious as hell but around everyone else shes just chill + mildly reserved. just relaxed. and she wont really talk to anyone except when shes spoken to, aside from the courier or the companions she got close. she really likes the courier since he got her to vegas + got her inside the lucky 38 + shes not a fiend anymore and shes just happy about that p much.

shes not TOO scientific, she cant do math to save her life- BUT shes really good at medicinal stuff. thats her strong point. very good at it. and she can also pick almost every lock she comes into contact with. doesnt matter.

and some fun lil facts:

the courier did the honest hearts + dead money + lonesome road dlc BUT his protegee accidentally went and did the whole big mt stuff. she was gone for almost 3 months. so like. whoops [but he cant get too mad bcus combined he was gone for longer. he can get extremely worried though]

the courier gets along with joshua really well, despite him being ex-legion. the protegee really likes 0, despite him hating the couriers boss.

the protegee Does Not Like Boone At All. she just doesnt. she doesnt trust first recon people. raul and arcade are super cool in her book! veronica was too. Was.

speaking of companions, the courier doesnt travel with most besides ed-e, since he does his traveling with her instead [cause what better teaching is hands-on-in-the-field experience?]

and also shes never met house. she wants to. the courier wants him to talk to her at SOME point. the courier has mentioned her to him before multiple times. but house wont. at least not until the 2nd battle of hoover dam. but she still does do quests and stuff for him [as a way of hands-on “show me what you learned and PLEASE DO IT RIGHT” and also “im gonna go to new canaan i know my boss wont talk to you but just heres some important stuff please do all that because i cant its important and if you need anything talk to raul or arcade or cass or lily or maybe boone if you want okay bye see you in a bit”. and also its easier to have 2 people than just 1]

Sounds like they’ve got a lot to do being the to of them! And like they’ve got an interesting dynamic going on between the two. I know I really enjoy found family kinda stuff.

Also seems like the two of them get on quite the adventures! I gotta ask, why was for Veronica?

2. How easy is it for your character to laugh?

im going to answer this one all in one cause its easier for me all of the gals (Delia, Stella, Eddie, Eve, Cassidy) find it v easy to laugh! any amount of stupid jokes is enough to make all of them laugh for a v long time! even if eddie cass or stella dont really show that they laugh about a lot of things it takes nothing to get them to start laughing

15. How do they speak? Is what they say usually thought of on the spot, or do they rehearse it in their mind first?

Delia: delia runs through every conversation in her head before she even says “hi!” which is good but she often tends to say the first thing in her head when shes in an excited mood

Stella: stella thinks through what shes about to say like once before she says it cause shes pretty confident in herself and doesnt second guess what shes about to say too often

Eve: eve thinks what shes about to say to anyone through in her head a few times because she doesnt want to make people mad! she just wants to calm people down and not have to deal with a fight so she has to rehearse it in her head a whole bunch

Cass and Eddie: im not convinced cass or eddie have the ability to think before they speak but cass does run everything through her head 50 times before she talks to eve and eddie when talking to her friends is about to say something on the spot then cuts herself off at the last second and just says nothing because shes like “hm well that was kind of mean when i almost said it outloud”

A) Why are you excited about this character?

ohhohohoh i just!!! the idea for delia and company and going into a world that only influenced by thoughts and emotions and imagination is just and idea that stuck out in my head a whole lot and i never found anything that was really exactly that idea in my head so i had to make my own and made 4 gals in Delia, Stella, Eddie, and Eve to run around in it! Cass was a side character turned main character after getting attached to her and knowing that she fit in v well with the other gals

What inspired you to try/create that muse/s: well , if you’ve been with me long enough then you know that tooru started out as an AU ! o.ikawa t.ooru, where instead of attending s.eijou , he went to s.hiratorizawa ! to be honest , i kind of just wanted to try my hand at writing that kind of thing ? it was the very first time i had made a tumblr rp blog , so i had no idea that people rp different verses of the same character on one blog !! i originally rp’d on deviantart , and it was very commonplace to have different blogs for different verses ... i had over 70 rp blogs on there and most of them were literally the same 2 characters but in different AUs LMAO ... so imagine my surprise when i saw people rp’ing different AUs on one blog ... RP’ing multiple muses on one blog ... !! but i kinda just stayed with my iteration instead of playing canon ! kawa anyway , since i didn’t really see the point in starting over . as tooru developed more , though , i began to use him as a venting tool because this was a part of my life where i was really depressed . but as time grew on and i eventually made him into an OC , he became a much happier character . he really is my best friend ; he’s been there for me through it all , and even though he’s just fictional , i really owe him a lot for helping me out during rough times .

What is inspiration for that muse/s: well , currently , a lot of things ... lots of music , japanese culture + religion , and also my own experiences . in general , i have a p.interest board for him , so ... maybe you could say i draw inspiration from that , too ! i also rly enjoy the band MILI . their songs really fit tooru , like ‘ bathtub mermaid ’ . i’ve also been listening to hello , again and am planning on drawing something based on it for him ( + the song’s prequel , “ goodbye ” ) . i mainly tend to daydream while listening to songs , so ... yeah . as for characters who serve as inspiration for tooru ... well , i think that’s an artist meme , so i might just fill it in in lieu of answering this properly lol ... but two i can think of off the top of my head are leon from f.ire e.mblem e.choes and n.eferpitou from h.xh !

Thread/AU that made you really happy: B.NHA AU ... !! i’m hyperfixating sm on that one ... idk , a lot of planning and plotting goes into it , esp since a lot of my mutuals are in the fandom . in particular , i love love love the story i’ve created with @noquirk . i literally cannot envision a more perfect plot for tooru in this verse . heck , it’s literally my main go - to timeline when i draw / write for it . tooru is , quite literally , not very much in this AU without deck .

Something really special on your wishlist: sh ... more ships ... ships to draw and animate and make animatics to ... also i need to get my butt into gear and finish my JRPG AU group lol .

Something you are looking for in short future for your muse: blease tooru help me get thru the school year ... also i have some animatics in the back burner so i’m looking forward to getting those done !

Share something related to your muse!: his canon story , in parallel motion , deals with existentialism and alternate universes . ultimately , it’s a story that serves as a physical manifestation of my own struggle with depression , and while it’s sombre in tone , i want it to tell whoever’s reading it , “ you matter . ” it’s why tooru is placed into so many marginalized groups ; he’s fat and trans and biracial and bi and suffers from bpd + depression + anxiety but he’s a good person through it all ... his story is tragic because he’s not allowed to exist and will be forgotten when he dies , but his existence impacts so many other characters’ lives ... it’s a butterfly effect kind of thing . because you exist , you’ve made so many peoples’ lives better . and i understand it’s rough and i understand depression + sucky real life aspects try to convince you otherwise , but just ... think about it . there’s an alternate universe where , because you don’t exist , something huge was probably impacted . and even on a smaller , more intimate scale --- if you hadn’t existed in another life , then one of your friends might not be here . they might not be as happy as they are now , because you make them happy . life can be awful . but it’s wonderful and beautiful , too . that’s what i want tooru to be to others . someone to look up to and relate to , and someone who tells you , “ it’s okay ! ”

What do you think about character’s design/how do you came up with this: he’s ... kinda generic LOL mainly cause he’s based off of o.ikawa looks - wise due to his origin ... but part of his looks also derivate from an old ask blog muse i had :

i just really like that bangs - over - one - eye hairstyle ngl ... also i have no idea how / when his hair became maroon - brown since o.ikawa’s hair is chestnut brown , but ... yeah . also have no idea when he gained red eyes HDKJSFS,,,, i find fangs appealing on a character though , so that’s why he has fangs and does the :3c ... honestly i think i kinda just slapped together what i like in a design and put it on him , so even though he may look like an NPC ( lol ) , he’s still appealing in my eyes .

What your muse taught you: how to love being alive ... ( i’ve actually written an essay for a class about how he’s helped me through depression haha ... he means a lot to me , can you tell ? )

literally any affection ever. she will blush at snuggles, hand holds, head pats, playing with her hair, anything. even verbal affection like calling her love and darling. I really like to reassure her that shes doing good and I'm proud and that's when she gets the most red

incredibly. maybe sometimes too much. she kinda interprets semi threatening things ad danger and get tense and anxious.

shes got a lot of nightmares. if I'm not around she tends to go to vax and kiki about it and they'll wrap her up in their cloaks and kiki will sing her to sleep. I'm glad because it calms her down

Actually, nevermind I retract an earlier tag of mine, I do have other problems with FO games (3, NW, 4). Specifically the sexism (and not just the racism).

TW for mentions of murder/death, violence & brief mentions of racism & biphobia

Some might try and argue they aren't but please, everyone and I mean EVERYONE makes fun of the recurrent theme of the dead Wife/Girlfriend within the series and if we don't limit it to just partners the number of times this occurs goes up even more. Boone is the main one that everyone always talks about but I also like to include Raul in this because even though the women/girls in his life weren't romantically related their back stories in his life are just so violent and it doesn't escape me that most of them were Mestizo. In F3 their is literally an Asian girl with a Evil Karma requirement whose a sex slave to a Black man who is also the main enslaver (just... so much going on in that game ). Also would like to include the FO3 protagonist, the character we play has a Dead mom who died shortly after giving birth. Im probably missing A LOT but I don't remember much of anything from FO3 and despite having played FNV plenty of times a lot of my memory is still lacking or needs to be refreshed so this is as far as I'm going into these games for now.

Moving on to FO4, we got Deacon with a murdered partner, Pre-War Nick Valentine had a fiance that was shot in head used as motivation for Synth Nick Valentine, MacCready with a Dead wife killed violently by feral ghouls, Longfellow's partner who was abducted, brainwashed, miscarried then murdered and the Sole survivor if you're Male.

Also not to mention the fact that most women companions or any that show attraction to men are used more so to pander to male audiences then to be their own unique characters. Piper, Cait, and Curie all have no prior relationships, Cait is the sexual one who may even count as biphobic representation in some aspects similar to how Cass is within FNV (over sexualized and shows passing interest in women to mainly titillate the player). I don't know what to say about Piper, I don't think she's as bad as the others at least & she might even be okay however, I do still think she lacks in unique characterists & somewhat agency & even though she might not count as biphobic representation I still feel it is mainly there as entertainment for a specific group of their audience. As for Curie she very much falls into the "born sexy yesterday" trope.

I would like to add real quick that having a dead, beaten, or whatever wife, girlfriend, mother, sister or just any women character isn't automatically sexist the problem is that this is something done over and over and over again normally only to further the mens stories as motivation for them OR used purely for shock value. Not to mention that non-white characters tend to get more devastating or violent backstories or plots compared to their white counterparts or are given hardly anything of there own & used only to further white characters stories.

And also keep in mind that there are probably plenty of instances besides just the few I mentioned in which race and sexism intersect I just for now don't plan on going further then what I've said (but I would like to add one other example like Marcy Long from FO4). I would real quick like to point out though that of all three of these games there are only 2 WOC companions in total and their representation is not even good (if we count the temporary companions in NV then we would have one more but the one from Honest Heart is just done so poorly all around as well & no I don't see C). Also just the enormous lack of Companions of color IN GENERAL within these games (and/or just lack of DECENT portrayals). But thats not what this post was for.

Anyway yeah, sexism is to be expected of course with how most industries are but I just felt like I had to talk about it a bit. I could also go more indept with this but I don't want to have to do too much more research at this time. I might one day but probably not because most likely other women have talked about this already and too a much better degree then I could ever but maybe this will be interesting to someone.

Hmmm... i guess I also have problems with the biphobia even though there isn't much but it is still there. And, even though the courier could *technically* be Bi+ in NV I don't believe it makes up for the other instances I've talked about and I'm actually not sure how I feel about it counting as actual representation honestly but that's something I need to research a little bit more before I make a solid judgement. However, at this moment I don't believe it does any better then FO4 in this regard. And, look, I understand Cait and Cass both aren't confirmed Bi+ & that one is definitely suppose to be straight because of things I've read about it BUT considering Bisexuality isn't really a thing thats talked about or referenced at all in these games I have to go off the little that is there. If there was other actual instances of good rep these could be looked over but because there isn't I can't.

ALSO even though I don't believe very many games have done this well, or any mainstream media but let's not forget sex workers are probably VERY poorly represented within the series but Im not that great at analyzing that specific stuff since I'm not one and don't know much about the issues and such sex workers face.
