Here's a kinda unfinished comic of Donna visiting Dick in Gotham, set in the Training Wheels au. I couldn't think of any ideas or gags for it, so its just a draft at the moment. You can see here that Jason really took to Donna real quick, immediately appointed her big sister!

I've seen around tumblr that people like to headcannon Jason as a fan of Wonder Woman, which is nice, though I personally think it'd be Donna who he'd be the fan of. I mean, he probably still like Diana, but Donna's the one he might be more inspired by!

It's funny I actual had an anti-sophie design way back when I first was starting streaming. Her name was Sophie Maybey? (Question mark mandatory) and she was a riddler-esque evil version of me.

Fandom as a cocktail bar: a somewhat overwrought metaphor

I've had a realization about being a multi shipper

I treat fandom like a bar, and I personally love trying new drinks.

This metaphor is about to get really extended so bear with me lol.

I usually go for beer - not a cheap mass produced one, I like a craft beer. One that was made with some creativity, with good quality ingredients. I'll take a beer when I go out, or when I'm home and unwinding after a long day. I love sampling beers anytime I go somewhere new. (Read a new fic author)

(In this metaphor zelink is beer. I even make my own beer! And zelink is the only fanfic I've ever seriously written)

I also love gin! Gin (another ship -let's say Revalink, or Sidlink) is delicious and I love drinks with gin. I don't drink it every day or even every week but when I see it on the menu at the bar, I'll definitely order a gin cocktail. Especially if it's a bar (author) I've read before and I like what they do.

Rum (another ship - eg zelgan) maybe isn't my favorite, but there's a few specific cocktails made with rum that I really like. I don't like rum and coke (ship in xyz situation, trope) but I love a mojito (same ship written in a different dynamic - tale of two rulers, you continue to have me in a chokehold)

There's lots of other drinks that I'm curious about but haven't tried very much. Schnapps? Jaeger? Tequila? Absinthe? All very different things I'm curious to try more of. Also if my friend home brews something I'm gonna try it to be supportive and give them feedback.

There's also so many great non alcoholic cocktails that are super creative and tasty. And yanno, sometimes I've got a lot of work to do or I need to focus and I don't wanna drink alcohol (get super sucked into/emotionally wrecked by a story) but I still want something delicious and complex that isn't gonna mess me up, and also that I can serve to kids!

Now me personally, I absolutely LOATHE super salty or savoury drinks. Olive martinis? Bloody Marys? Eugh no thank you. But boy HOWDY some folks LOVE those drinks and yanno what? Even if I think Bloody Mary's are gross as hell I still want the bar to serve a bloody Mary to those who want one. Especially if the bartender loves making them and is really good at them. That's awesome!

Some people are much more picky about their drinks. Some people will not (or cannot, for several valid reasons) drink Jaeger. Or sherry. Some people might HATE anything with gin and think I'm crazy for liking gin so much, but, hey, to each their own. Some people really don't like beer and don't understand why everyone's so obsessed with it and why it's freaking everywhere. 😝

There are lots of delicious and creative drinks to suit everyone's tastes, young and old, sweet tooth and spice fiends alike. Let's indulge a little, shall we?

Thoughts on Bob mentoring Dion?

I love him too, he's a great character!

At first it sounds like a bit of trouble, Dion is grumpy, I don't think bob would handle a teenager well, but looking deeper I see a lot of potential!

Bob is also grumpy after all, and I think that whole "cocoon of anger to keep people from hurting me" thing is SUPER relatable to Dion

I think Bob and him would at first be awkward but as long as they fall into a rhythm of "tending garden without saying a word" Dion could get used to this kind of therapy.

No one here is pushing him to talk about his feelings, god forbid. He just digs in the dirt and rips up weeds and that's as close to punching something as he's allowed to get.

"Uh, Bob, don't you think mentoring should include more... mentoring?"

Bob smiles. "Give it time. Give him time."

And slowly, without encroaching on Bob's space, Dion's little corner of the garden takes on such an efficient organizational method that Bob adopts some of it for his own garden.

I'm thinking of Dion and Bob working on opposite sides of the greenhouse, and with nothing to focus on by the ground and plants and his own thoughts, Dion just- starts to cry. It comes out of nowhere and he's horrified, embarrassed- but it also feels like such a relief. He looks around to make sure Bob didn't see (Bob is psychic, he knows, but also knows the boy doesn't want attention right now) and finishes his work and hurries off. Processing trauma is like that sometimes.

He's not good with words. But he insists on trying to grow raspberries no matter how many times he fails, and he learns to handle things more gently. He gives his mom fresh veggies to cook with, and he asks Raz to bring him books on some type of psychic plant, and a fresh potted daisy shows up in Frazie's room.

Once the little plant has been given something stable to hold on to, it grows up straight and tall and starts to blossom.

When Bob is sick, one week- alcoholism is a bitch to kick- he comes back and his garden has been carefully tended. The plants tell him they were well cared for, his vines curly happily to see him.

Dion pretends he doesn't know what Bob is talking about. Bob gives him nice terra cotta pots for his new flowering succulents. Dion paints all eight with white and blue stripes and insists they all be kept together in a group, especially the smallest one in the middle.

anyway I like it! : D Bob is a good guy I think they could make it work! If Dion got herbaphony, he'd be bringing Gisu potted flowers because he's like "I can hear them and they didn't want me to rip them up i hope this is okay", and she thinks he's so cute it's worth lugging around a big pot all day.

okay all that stuff from earlier being said malec’s making up/getting back together scene is cute though. and their kiss! under the paper lantern lights and emotional swelling music. like i DO think they should’ve been a part longer (even if that meant their being a time gap between their break upnand now) and that this conversation doesn’t cut it in terms of what they need to talk about. but it’s a start and it’s sweet.

often statements similar to “i don’t think i can live without you” are Bothersome and for good reason but. i don’t mind so much here. but alec’s not saying it as a threat, he’s not saying it as an “if you tell me no i’ll aggressively try to win you back” thing. he’s being brave here! he’s doing the whole Emotional Vulnerability (tm) thing, at the risk of magnus totally shutting him down and walking away again. but he does it anyway! it’s that whole not having much pride when it comes to the people he loves thing. if there is one thing that is true and good about alec, it’s that he Tries.

and magnus Also struggles with being vulnerable like that (for totally different reasons - emotionally vulnerability actually comes fairly natural to alec but he shoved that part of himself away for the first 20 years of his life because he lives in a utilitarian society that demanded that of him; magnus for his part can portray somewhat of a Facade of emotional vulnerability, but is more the type to encourage others to do so while drowning hos own feelings out with magic and alcohol and parties and relationships bc trauma!) so he sees how lost alec is and how much he’s trying and he decides to try again too. because what the hell. and that is very human and real of both of them!
