But see here's the thing, he's never really hidden his bisexuality from us. Very much like other unstr8 BTS members, he has openly chosen to use inclusive pronouns in his music. He has worn many, many items - far too many to list here - in support of inclusivity, knowing well that some, even most people would see support as personal identification. He has smilingly played the court jester knowing that some people would ignore him, some would validate him, and some would use him to virtue-signal as a cover for their own dis-ease.

To ignore that is to ignore the totality of Jung Hoseok as a person and is far more disrespectful, in my own admittedly tiny corner of the internet. You do you, if it makes you feel better. I just can't magine any straight man filming entire videos in a Gucci pride flag sweater without a certain amount of personal input.

deku x melissa - i like to think that a couple years after meeting they have a little bit of fling/relationship. i thought their chemistry was amazing in the movie so it's very cute to me to think that she's the first person deku dates <3 also, american baddie.

hawks x endeavor - no excuse no thoughts head empty... i just like the (somewhat toxic) dynamic of like, younger person makes older person better............... somehow. i think they're funny too, with endeavor being all grumpy and hawks just all ^u^ all the time LOL

kiribaku, ofc! - just a berry cute relationship in general, i love a relationship where both characters meet later in life and become their most true selves together (honestly tho any bakusquad member x bakugo i really like. MINA x BAKUGO ESP, but also denki and sero!)

shinbaku + bakugo x todoroki, too. - dunno. but i see art + fics of them and i like it LOL.

bakugo x momo - they definitely have a relationship at some point and i'm there for it. they just seem a lot more similar than one might initially think, you know? both pretty boys and girls who study hard and like calming things.

(i've said it before, too.. but i also like tsuyu x bakugo and camie x bakugo! i think bakugo would be so gentle with tsu and so funny with camie <3... maybe even todoroki x camie, too)

and i don't think abt it too much bc i know it's endgame, but izuocha is very sweet and high on my list. i love their fanart, it's always so cute! similarly, bakugo x mirko... i hope they have their moment together at least once!!

Glad you asked. I've been blessed/cursed with ADHD. Which means, for me, I'll hyperfocus on something for HOURS or procrastinate like you wouldn't believe. I just gotta get on a decent schedule, this just wasn't the week for it unfortunately. So, please bear with because I do have ideas! Will I get sidetracked? Yes. If my brain feels like it wants to create something then and there, I cannot stop it. But it's a really nice stress reliever for me in a way, I get to think and focus on one thing and not about what has happened or what will happen.

Alright. My most recent foray into the Izzy drama has revealed to me that there is a problem in the Izzy stan community, and I love helping the less fortunate so I'm going to give the people a little crash course in how to use tumblr. Me and many of my mutuals have done some or all of the things that I'm about to show you in the interest of a more enjoyable tumblr experience. This is directed at a specific tumblr community but is universally helpful so if it breaks containment I am sorry.

We're gonna start off with the basics here. Blocking people. If you see a post you don't like. If you think a take is horrible. A person is just giving you bad vibes? HIT DA BRICKS my friends. You can never see another post from this person by clicking on their blog, clicking on the elipses, and hitting that block button. Thank you to my beloved mutual @ourflagmeansgayrights for letting me use your blog to display what I'm talking about.

I understand that some people might feel bad about blocking someone. You shouldn't tho. The person might find out and get a little salty, but you don't know them and they can't do anything about it so who cares? I personally have over 40 blogs blocked and honestly I should have more.

Next, onto something a little more challenging. filtered content. You're gonna want to go to your settings. here's a picture with the directions to the settings menu helpfully highlighted.

When you click on the settings it'll take you to a page like this

I have already scrolled down a bit. You can scroll down until you see the portions that I have ever so helpfully highlighted. You're gonna want to click the little pen icon on the far right. When you do it should look like this.

You're gonna want to type exactly what I've typed into that box, and then you're gonna want to hit that Add button. When you do it will appear at the bottom of your filtered tags list like this.

Congradulations. You don't have to look at another post that's mean to Izzy. I know I sometimes tag posts that are not that mean to Izzy as izzy critical because I know you guys will hate it and I want to spare you, so please. It's for your own good. and it takes about 20 seconds.

Finally, turning off anons. I've seen a lot of you complain about anon death threats. I get those too. I just delete them when they come in my ask box because I don't actually take them that seriously but if they're bothering you there is a way to get rid of them for good, and you are already half way there if you're in the settings menu blocking the Izzy critical tag.

On the side of the settings menu theres a little list of all your blogs. You're gonna want to select the one you don't want to get anons in. You have to do it separately for each blog but it's pretty easy.

It's gonna take you to a page where you can edit your blog. You want to scroll down until you see this

And then you just want to smack that second button. You can even smack the first if you don't want to receive questions at all, but if the anons are your problem I'd recommend the second one

Anyway, hope this helps, because literally everyone I know does some or all of these things in order to mitigate online harassment and curate our online experience. Obviously if someone really wants to harass you they're going to. Some of my mutuals with anon turned off have had people make burner accounts to message them. But the great thing about that is, you can just block the burner.

OH! I nearly forgot! There's one more thing you can do. Say you don't want to turn off anon, but you keep getting one really annoying bitch in your inbox and you suspect its the same person twice because of the affect or whatever. Guess what. If you click the three dots next to the message you can block them too!!! I've sent two nasty anons to the shadow realm this way. I would have sent more but unfortunately you cant delete the message after you do this so it leaves a number in your inbox even if it's not there anymore. I prefer to just delete them unless someone is spamming me.

Also if you don't like my tone in this post I'm giving you permission to use the information contained within this post to hit that block button babey. See you never. I'd love to be your first block. I'll pop your block cherry for you baby. It'll be so satisfying.

SaL anon here friend, hoping your in the mood for some incoherent Friday rambling because that's where I'm at right now and have been for days. First off, i think we should both thank and curse the new intern 911 hired, who apparently switched out the promo team's decaf for some Columbian dark roast. Seriously after spending the first half of the season practically catatonic between episodes suddenly we can't catch a break for even 24 hours before the next unhinged thing comes out. Next, let's

thank Mr. Ryan Guzman for looking at his character's scene notes, apparently rolling his eyes, and deciding to take matters into his own hands. Look, I'm not trying to say the rest of the 118 doesn't look devastated, but Eddie looks like he's about to start bawling on the floor and that's the real reason he grabbed Chim. I'll come back to this but his moments sure don't hit like pure platonic concern, there is some real desperation there. Also not to bring up KR rambling but lady if you were so surprised by Ryan's performance and didn't want it to come across like THAT, aren't you in charge? Couldn't you make the call and say "I need you to give me less"?? Anyway, the parallels between this and Eddie's shooting are ridiculous, so I also gave to think if this isn't going somewhere what the fuck is the point?? Why go through all this trouble to make it so obvious and heartfelt and hurt so much if it just goes back to business as usual?? That more than anything would piss me off. Yes, let Buck learn a thing or two about his own worth (we've only been waiting SEASONS for it), but also can we stop pretending putting these two specific characters in these life and death scenarios where they have to watch the other dying and their whole world looks like it's coming apart doesn't mean anything?? Finally (for now) here's what I'd like to see next episode. We know Buck is going to see the people he loves but not in the way he knows he knows them. So I'd love to be what prompts him to wake is seeing Chris. But not just any version of him. This Chris is an orphan, his mom died and there wasn't anyone to save his Dad from getting shot. He lives with his grandparents (pre Ramon reckoning), he had to go to them since there was no other parent in Eddie's life to take care of him. So this bright, brave kid is now sad and scared of the world, and Buck knows its wrong. I'll leave you with this mess of thoughts 😭.

Ryan is out here giving us The Most and KR acting *shocked pikachu* about it just shows how much she sleeps on Ryan as an actor and Eddie as a character.I rewatched 6x10 and like, I know he's got a lot next episode but for a premier maybe we could have checked in with him and Chris since we checked in with literally everyone else at their homes? I'm trying not to be too negative because after s5 and 6a, this is THEE most excited I've been in awhile and I really do think the show is at least trying to course correct after....whatever TF 6a was and the weirdness of s5.

And the stuff with Eddie, it's like, you're right they COULD tell him to do less! They could say "this is what we're looking for" or at least "this is what we're NOT looking for" but clearly his actions were signed off on and made it to air knowing full well what people would see when they watched it. And what you see is a man desperately broken by the possibility of losing his partner. Which is GREAT if the show is working on a s7 Buddie reveal plan (I'm with @outrunningthedark I don't think they want to overshadow the Madney moment coming up which is fine), but it's....disappointing when there is so much good stuff going on right now and all KR wants to talk about is how much fun they had forcing Eddie "they're not really my type" Diaz to casually date randos because that's something he's ever been interested in doing. He really seems like a guy that enjoys wasting his limited free time meeting lots of new people only interested in getting into his pants instead of taking care of his partner who literally died for several minutes, and doing things with his son. Sure Jan. FFS, read the room! Or read the character profile before you start throwing storylines at the wall to see what sticks (lookin' at you sperm donor plot that is apparently giving Nothing). Yeah, yeah, managing expectations with a showrunner like her is good, but it's also a lot of whiplash right now between what we're seeing on our screens and what she's trying to TELL us we're seeing on our screens. I'm just so sick of them giving what should be THEE moment for Buddie only to follow it up by shoving some woman between them like "oh, nothing to see here!" Give me a break. And then what are they going to do for the actual reveal? How are they going to raise the stakes AGAIN? How are they going to be like, "yeah this is the 5th time one of us has almost died, but THIS time it's allowed to be an "Oh" moment for us because TPTB finally signed off on it!" 🙄🙄🙄 On the bright side, the Buddie of it all has kept the show trending off an on for almost two weeks and will certainly continue through next week so at least whoever is paying attention to that stuff and saw how dead everything was after the finale has some comparison to work with!

ANYWAY

Sad an lonely Chris would be HEARTBREAKING and my heart couldn't take it! 😭😭😭 That boy deserves ONLY good things! I will say I am a little...not mad but I am certainly side-eyeing this coma storyline seeming to be about how Buck's work as a firefighter is what changed everyone's lives because like, YES him being at the 118 changed everything for everyone, but also this is the guy who panic-sued the department to get back to work because he felt worthless if he wasn't doing his job. Which we then found out stemmed from childhood trauma and neglect, but right now, for where he's at, he's not questioning his choice of job so he doesn't need a push like Eddie to come back to where he belongs. And he's already wrapped up in a storyline that SHOULD be about him giving up parts and pieces of himself to make other's happy at cost to his own happiness (though right now we don't know WHAT it's suppose to be about since he's not going to struggle with walking away per Oliver and he's not learning anything so what's the point?). So how is better for him to be facing a life where Daniel lived and he's loved and happy (which is what they've been making it sound like) but everyone at the 118 is a mess without him, proving that it's better for everyone ELSE if he sacrifices everything and doesn't get the happy life he always dreamed of? Like I'm not trying to be negative and I'm still REALLY excited about the episode (as you can see from my unhinged posting this week) and I just KNOW everyone's performances are going to slay us, and this storyline might go differently than I'm expecting and be something really great! But I'm just...getting my side-eyes out because if KR has proved anything it's that she can't plan a fucking arc for shit, and she lacks a basic understanding of the trauma and driving forces behind the characters.

Final note because I didn't want to end on that one, I think everyone in the firefam deserves an Emmy for what they're going to give us and I am READY for their reactions to rip my heart out and stomp on it. It is TIME Buck wakes up with his REAL family around his bed and knows how very much he is loved for just being Buck and how hard they fought to bring him back to them, because he's their family and they CHOOSE him. Buck is always the one being left, but he's going to wake up and hear how everyone he loves begged him to stay with them. It's going to be *delicious*

Can I ask what the deal is with marichat becoming the least-liked side of the lovesquare? It used to be pretty popular and now it seems like it's getting derided a lot more, people being more salty, etc (at least amongst the people I follow). I'm only on the sidelines of the fandom, so I feel like I must have missed something.

first of all, i'd say that marichat probably still is the most popular side of the love square. it tends to win in polls i've seen. it's kind of like you say though, it could definitely be the ppl you're following, because that definitely does shape how you perceive what's going on in a fandom--i've definitely noticed that myself

as for why it might seem like it's losing popularity or people are being salty about it, in my experience that has very little to do with canon marichat and everything to do with how some people in the fandom perceive and/or depict marichat.

for example, marichat fics are the most likely to revert to typical gender roles--which the love square subverts!! and lots of us LOVE how the love square flips the traditional roles around.

there's also a lot of "true selves" discourse in marichat fics--the idea that adrien is his "true self" when he's chat noir while marinette is her "true self" in civilian form. many ppl are also not a fan of that viewpoint of course, this isn't all marichat fics--i've definitely read a lot i've really enjoyed! and the marichat i've seen in canon (in elation, for example) is SO CUTE and doesn't fall into those tropes i mentioned (although yes i am still playfully salty that ladrien never got to kiss. season 6 i am LOOKING AT YOU WITH KITTEN EYES) but yeah. this is likely why you're seeing a lot of people wary of marichat content--and sometimes that comes across as people just saying they don't like marichat as a whole, because when ppl add a tag to a post--or even when they make a whole post--often ppl are going more for a witty one-liner than attempting to explain absolutely everything you feel hope this helps! thanks for the ask! 💜

I've received separate anon hate about: my Sandor headcanon being too sexy; my Sansa headcanon not aligning with someone else's; my Sandor characterization in "Gods and Monsters" being "gross" and I should kill myself because of it; someone hated "Thunderstruck" and felt the need to tell me. I'm sure there's more but those are the ones I remember. Talk about SALTY!

10. Most disliked arc? Why?

Clegane Bowl. This was so clearly D&D fan-service for fellow fandom bros, the same bros who loved Tyrion and thought Sansa was a bratty twat who got what she deserved via Ramsay. "Game of Thrones" butchered Sandor's character so bad by that point, I'd already written him and, let's be real, the entire show off as a lost cause. If GRRM ever delivers TWOW and ADOS, I'm confident he will not wreck a Sandor Clegane redemption arc for Clegane Bowl of all things.

17. Instead of XYZ happening, I would have made ABC happen…

Instead of resident himbo Ned Stark confronting Cersei about her children's paternity ala Maury Povich, I would have had him just shut the hell up about it and go back to Winterfell. Catelyn. In some corners of fandom, it's like people refuse to accept her as a multi-dimensional, flawed character. She's forever known as the frigid bitch who shunned emo heartthrob Jon Snow (don't even get me started on him...).

She's a loving wife, doting mother, and fiercely loyal to the North. She can be both that and a woman who unfairly misdirected her hurt and anger to a child who could not help his circumstances. Both of those things can exist in the same character.

3. Have you ever unfollowed someone over a fandom opinion?

Not for an opinion about the fandom's source material, but I have unfollowed someone (actually...two someones) for their take on a pairing that felt exceptionally angsty (almost cruel) and a little OOC. They also would start a fic with a great premise, draw out the angst with no end goal in mind, then abandon that and move on to a new fic to start the angst cycle again. I'm not saying a writer can't do that, but for my own sanity I had to unfollow. I didn't tell them and I doubt they noticed, which is as it should be. Everyone is free to right what they like.

Also, similar to your answer, if someone is spewing hate or tearing down others in the fandom, that's an unfollow for me and probably a block, but I can't think of a time when that's happened. I don't follow that many people (because I can't keep up with my feed) so I usually feel confident that the person I'm following isn't going to be a dick.

8. Have you received anon hate? What about?*

No, never anon. I did get a guest comment a few months ago (logged out but they left their ao3 name?) that I'm pretty sure was a troll. They asked (on a completed fic that is years old) when I'd be adding a rape scene. 🤷‍♀️ I blocked them and moved on.

I was trying to think of a more relevant fandom. I really didn't like the Civil War arc in the Marvel Comics (or MCU for that matter). I read that prior to the movies coming out and I was just so pissed off at Tony and everyone who sided with the Superhero Registration Act. Ironically, I then really grew to like Tony Stark as a character because of the Iron Man movies and then got to get mad all over again when CA: Civil War came out.

As to why, it frustrated me that the superheros who sided with it didn't seem to understand the danger in giving the government that much control. I understood what the MCU's take on it was trying to say: that superheroes without oversight can level whole cities and get away with it. Maybe the comics made the same point but I read them a long time ago so the MCU stuff is more clear and I believe in and side with Steve: What happens when the government says they can't go help someone? Are they just supposed to watch people in need suffer?

I said this in your post but very much agree with your thoughts on Aziraphale's return to heaven arc and Scully + pregnancy.

Oh! I thought of another but I can't actually remember the details? XD I really enjoyed the Fables comics up to a point but I remember something happened (I think with Bigby) and I got really annoyed and stopped reading. So whatever that arc was that I stopped reading at, lol.

And of course, another magical girl series <3 Like Sailor Moon, Card Captor Sakura or Sugar Sugar Rune.

Hmm... I guess that I have some experience with being bullied and being insecure too.

I'd say her style would be a mix of soft, cute, artsy and trendy. I can see Marinette experimenting with different styles, she's into fashion after all.

I'm faithful to the love square (lol) mainly. I have a soft spot for the Marichat and Adrinette sides - but I love them all!!

SaL anon here bestie, having enjoyed your morning salt. Tragically I'd call this one of the best episodes this season, thanks the Kyle, as always, setting everyone straight and focusing on what matters (who do you think is the heart of the show again writers?). Looking forward to more of your salty thoughts later, but as usual I'm here to provide RNM bullshit: science edition. So first off any well researched science points the episode might have had (it had none) are automatically null and void

due to Liz bringing back the cursed phrase "the science". I look forward to never having to hear that again when the show ends. Next, in the Liz and Max scene with the pods she mentions "Hawkins radiation" and "Lagrange multipliers" which are in fact real things. Sadly they have absolutely nothing to do with Liz's current resurrection research unless her plan was to detect and throw the dead frog into a black hole to bring it back to life (probably a plot the writers considered). Here's the thing writers, being a scientist doesn't grant you mystical in depth knowledge if every field in science. Liz is not an expert in general relativity because she has a degree in biochemistry (and after the "ionized proton" remark I have serious concerns about the chemistry part of that). Finally, the second Liz and Shivani talk. *me seeing the chemical structures on the whiteboard* "NO! BAD WRITERS!! You can't have an carbon partially unbonded like that!!" *me, all of 0.5 seconds later looking at Liz's tablet while hysterically laughing* "What the actual fuck is THAT!!" There so much wrong in those notes it would take minimum 10 asks to cover. Who's in charge of the science props of this show?  Please writers, put any freshman student taking chem 101 in charge and offer to buy them a pizza. They will do a better job in the time it takes them to eat it. As an aside, Liz and Shivani vaping poorly CGIed alien mist made me laugh. Enjoy my friend!!

Hi bestie! Sorry this took me so long to get to, but that reviewer wasn’t lying when she called this an energy vampire of a season and I just haven’t been able to bring myself to deal this week. I agree that out of this mess of a season, this has been one of the best episodes so far and it really is down to Kyle being back, dropping truth bombs on Max, snuggling into that hug with Isobel while deftly turning Michael’s comments aside and keeping Isobel’s confidence about what happened with them (not that Max and Michael won’t figure it out, but Kyle is so good at not being *totally* obvious unlike Michael who cannot hide his 🥺 face about Alex like, ever), and being THEE captain of the Malex ship and Michael’s cheerleader and refusing to let anyone give up on Alex. 100% the heart of this show.

I can’t wait for this show to be over if only so I never have to hear “The Science” ever again. Even Jeanine’s brilliance can’t save that line. At least she mentioned so real science things, but I’m with you on being confused on why she didn’t throw out some science babble from her related field, though I suppose the answer is “the mist made her brilliant about everything”. Though I thought it was implied it helped “free your thinking” to come up with out of the box ideas, not “implanted knowledge you never had directly into your brain” but it’s not like the writers know or care about how anything on this show, including the passage of time, how long it takes to get places, or how friendships work so 🤷🏻‍♀️

Honestly, I’m seriously doubting they bothered to hire a scientist consultant at all, but you’d think that googling terms and pictures of chemical structures would lead to them being at least a little right sometimes. But that’s also like saying that with the set up of a major main character like Alex being kidnapped they’d have to stumble on an emotional beat at some point, even accidentally, and it’s starting to feel purposeful that they haven’t. Was someone on the writing staff dumped by a scientist at some point and all this stuff is done purposefully wrong out of spite? Because BOY does this season feel like a lot of spite-writing for pretty much every character. Except for m*ria who supposedly ends the series getting “everything”, so we have that to look forward to 🙄

I can’t decide which is worse, another episode without a Malex reunion, or a Malex reunion directed by someone who called people’s genuine triggers about consent “noise” that they needed to shut up about. Fingers crossed whatever the reunion is and whenever we get it, that it’s entirely free of m*ria mentions, that  Vlamis and Tyler’s work to make it worth it comes through and isn’t trimmed down in editing, and that if it has to be in that god-awful blue filter, it’s at least not at the dead of night since the scene at the end of 4x10 was partially visible. 

Three more episodes until these characters do not belong to that joke of a writers room anymore.

Most of you already know that Jimin's parents had their coffee shop relocated (I think) and completely redone in the last year or two. Most of us have seen the wonderful Jimin and Jungkook pics that adorned the old place:

And some folk wonder if Jimin is really as close with his parents, especially his father, as he would have us believe. Answer: YES. Yes he is because HOW COOL ARE THEY. They are so cool that I firmly believe that they see Jungkook as their son-in-law, for all intents and purposes.

The new Magnate interior is larger, and kinda sleek and much higher budget, and their designer went with hats on shelves:

And as people touch them and pose next to them ALL THE DAMN TIME they sometimes get moved around a bit or changed. Personally I'd have the stuff under alarmed glass but the Parks are nicer than I am. Most of the hats are Jimin's or Jungkook's. I honestly don't know about the blue and yellow beanies, though. The white one is Jimin's and then we have:

So some inventory has gotten moved around. I swear I would not be shocked to learn that the Parks just go home and get into Jimin's old room and grab hats, but I suspect his parents are savvy enough to be able to tell you not only by whom, but when each of those hats was worn. Contextually if not by date. And unless I am very much mistaken, NONE of those hats are Taehyung's. The straw ones are, I think, Jimin's mom and dad's hats. Which makes sense since they OWN THE PLACE. The rest are, I'm pretty sure, just Jimin's and Jungkook's. With the newer arrivals I need to go digging through pics again :)

Alrighty, we all know the Self Aware AU enables the boys (and.. yknow who) to feel and hear us, but what if it applied to the NPCS?

I'm talking arena mode AND story campaign npcs!! Yknow, like some from Arena Character's organization (or SQ, I'll call it that) :

Bossman, Chopper Dave, Qbert, Skinner, Chef Pava, and AC's team!

And even some enemy npcs! Like Sweet Tony, Church and Jorge, Burger Gil, Agents from fast track, and Nexus Core units from the Infiltration mission!

( Honorable mentions go to : "Fence" (aka Crackpot) and Garrett Goyle! (Slaughter Time host) )

This opens up a portal of possibilities! I'll split em up for ya!

SQ :

Qbert and Dave laughing as AC is dragged around the headquarters because Player likes their voice lines.

Skinner chuckling to himself while AC's team groans as Player says "you guys cost alot to revive".

Chef Pava giving AC an apologetic smile as Player goes through the black market items he has.. For the 3rd time today.

For.. Arena Character's sake, I'll say that the S.Q. NPCs *don't* form a massive attachment to Player, and instead feels their warmth like a small heater.

(It's so funny seeing the mental image of Deimos or Doc ranting to one of the NPCs only for them to go "eh, it's fine", like "how could you NOT want that???")

And now, for the Story Campaign NPCs! :

Sanford and Deimos laughing as Player mocks Church and Jorge, both getting more angrier as they do.

Burger Gil stopping and expressing slight confusion at the voice he's hearing, because only Sanford and Deimos are there.

GOL3Ms and Agents probably becoming near teary-eyed because Player keeps insulting them with their weapon choices ( "did your mom get you that mace?", "bet that gun was all you can handle", "you got lotsa armor there, are you chicken?" )

As you can see, this portal of possibilities is absolutely WONDERFUL! Ain't it, Salty? :D

OMG CORVID! This is absolutely amazing, thank you for sharing it with me! :D The arena character is probably thanking god at this point, with everyone else treating you like a normal presence. That's how it's supposed to be, after all. (Although they might have to give their "fence" a look of warning when they see his reaction.)

I'd like to think that the others in the SQ just see the Player as the arena character's disembodied friend, so they aren't too weirded out by hearing them. Plus it's clear that your character likes them, and they're glad that the head of their "little" group in Nevada Central has someone taking care of them when they leave on dangerous missions. (Although the arena character's team will likely find themselves being worried over as well. It seems the Player's protective tendencies applied to them as well.) Plus, I can honestly see Deimos ranting to a nearby NPC about the Player and them just being completely nonchalant. (Though if anything they'd be weirded out by how fond he was of you. He seemed to like you even more than your character did, what?) He'd probably be offended on your behalf lmao.

And for the story bits you added (which are just *chef's kiss* btw), I lowkey feel bad for the G03LMs and the Agents. They're just trying to do their mission but then they hear this random voice insulting everything about them. The boys think it's hilarious though.

Hey, Lost! Do you know if an Isayama quote I vaguely remember is true? Something about not drawing how Levi mourned Erwin's death/buried him because he couldn't portray the veterans' relationships as more special between each other than others. I've always had a suspicion he was censored on queer characters, like Hange's gender in the anime, and if that quote is real, that's one reason why I suspect it. If you're not comfortable answering, that's fine. Thanks!

Hi Anon, I think a few things may have got a bit mixed up here. I'm not aware of any quote from Isayama along these lines, unless I'm missing something, however he did talk about Erwin and Mike's death during the Oita autograph event Q&A in 2018.

I'm not going to lie, I was extremely salty when we didn't get to see any kind of burial or memorial service for Erwin, particularly when it was confirmed in the manga that there would be a burial for the fallen Survey Corps soldiers "at a later date". I know I wasn't the only one who was really annoyed when the time skip happened and that later date never came. However it was some comfort when Isayama confirmed that Levi went back to Shiganshina to retrieve Erwin's remains and bring him home, and that he was treated with the dignity he deserved, and his sacrifice honoured and commemorated.

That being said, I don't think the reason that Isayama didn't draw these scenes is due to censorship, I think it's more down to plot and pacing, which have always been problematic in the manga. Some scenes that you would expect to carry weight are glossed over or missing altogether, while others are done to death. Historia's whole arc is a case in point.

I'm also not sure I agree that Levi isn't shown to mourn Erwin in the manga. I think it's quite clear that Levi is grieving after his return from Shiganshina, even if he does so in his own quiet, stoic way. And the fact that he never forgot his vow to Erwin is further proof of the lasting impact that Erwn's death had on him.

Regarding censorship in the anime, I know this is something that some fans have been very vocal about. I'm not really familiar enough with the anime industry to know what authors, producers and studios can and can't get away with in different genres of anime. However I do know that SnK is a massive multi million dollar media franchise so I suspect every decision taken is a compromise between the author, the producer, the studio, and all the other stakeholders involved. I'm sure that different forms of "censorship" are rife in the anime industry, but I couldn't say how much of an impact that has had on a franchise like SnK. Isayama has always struck me as quite a canny operator, and I suspect he's done a pretty good job of telling the story that he wants with treading the fine line of what's acceptable to portray on screen.

I'm not going to go into the subject of Hanji's gender here, but if you want chapter and verse on the subject, I can highly recommend this post by @tsuki-no-ura.
