seventeen as games they would play on roblox
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
FEATURING. seventeen (ot13) GENRE. headcanons, crack WORD COUNT. 552
notes: this is purely just for shits and giggles. ty @haecien for sparking the idea on discord and @yeonjuns-redhair for helping me LMAO. i was such a roblox nerd back then pls don't question me thank u. this game traumatized me fr.
Tumblr media
scoups - mm2/arsenal/phantom forces: bro would be such a try hard whenever he becomes murderer or sheriff in mm2. he would also own like all the damn legendary knives, guns, knife effects, prob has hella robux and connections to get all those, might also play obnoxious audios on his radio to assert dominance. arsenal and phantom forces is self-explainable since he's pretty good at fps games
jeonghan - brookhaven/free admin games: is definitely trolling and scaring people on brookhaven or any roleplay game lmfao. would pretend to be their child just for him to turn his avatar into the most terrifying monster ever and make people rage quit. he'd easily take over those games that grant free admin, literally everyone would be under his fingers
joshua - royale high: shua was hard since he doesn't rlly play video games? he would def not be into these competitive games. i can see him having fun dressing up his avatar in royale high for some reason. would prob lowkey be an annoying troll, or those rich ass mfs constantly showing off
jun - adopt me: self-explanatory. the top of his bucket list is to adopt all pets possible in the game. might even find ways to scam people out of their stuff (my cousin does this, don't be like her).
hoshi - jailbreak: he likes chaotic games. he brings chaos to the server. tries to also bribe woozi into playing with him so they can both be the Richest Lads in the server. either that or he absolutely sucks at playing the game and keeps getting arrested by the police.
wonwoo - tower of hell/dungeon quest/arsenal/doors: can't really decide on one. he's pretty versatile with his games but i think he mainly prefers battle strategy games and fighting games. would definitely complete a tower of hell obby in less than a minute fr. is probably on the leaderboard of dungeon quest and has all the legendary spells, armour, and weapons. he's also completely fine with anything horror
woozi - those anime sims n fighting games/death ball/robeats: personally i have never played any of those anime fighting games ever but he would def be the one to enjoy them the most. will def beat your ass in death ball with his gigantic double wielded swords. he'd also continuously get hella high scores on robeats
dk - work at a pizza place: no explanation needed. he is living his life as a cook and delivery person
mingyu - theme park tycoon/natural disaster survival: i found mingyu to be hard as well LMAO. i feel like he could make a bomb ass theme park in theme park tycoon tho. either that or he's getting freaked out over the blocky tsunami coming his way
minghao - bloxburg/royale high/those fashion games: ahh he's living his life designing his perfect dream home and definitely has all the gamepasses. has the best fashion in royale high. would definitely spend his robux to get VIP so he can get access to the Better clothes in those fashion games (fun fact: i'm banned on bloxburg cuz i'm just too damn good 😔)
seungkwan - pls donate/works in a group: has the prettiest booth in pls donate so he can get robux but is constantly arguing with the nine year olds who are begging for him to donate to them. might also be an MR/HR/SR at a group (don't work at roblox groups guys, i beg of you)
vernon - bee swam simulator: no thoughts, just vernon playing bee swarm simulator being the best thing ever
dino - speed run: constantly frustrated over each time he falls off the map. he never makes it to the end

Here I am again, for more in-depth analysis of The Bad Batch!!
Here you go, @skellymom :))
Aftermath’s battle simulation: How one scene reintroduces us to Clone Force 99, and possibly foreshadows later events in the series.
(Part 2)
As the simulation begins, Hunter orders Crosshair to ‘take the towers.’ Crosshair is thus the first to split off from the rest of the group, quickly climbing one of the towers. As I discussed in part 1, the higher levels in this scene represent the empire. To explain this idea further in reference to the towers themselves, in literature, towers have been used to represent strength, success, and power - all things which Crosshair personally craves. With all this in mind, this movement provides an early indication of Crosshair’s upcoming departure to climb the ranks of the empire. The climb itself is treacherous with no equipment, but Crosshair manages it with ease, quickly reaching the top level - just as he manages to rise to the level of Commander of his new imperial squad.
Tumblr media
Once in position, Crosshair makes quick work of shooting and disabling the four towers. I have thought through several interpretations of what these four towers could represent, but my two personal favorites are:
The towers are a representation of Crosshair’s relationships with his four brothers; his disabling attack on each tower shows the severance of his ties to each brother.
The towers have a much more literal meaning, representing the four members of his own imperial squad that Crosshair later kills on this same training ground.
Meanwhile, at Hunter’s order, the rest of the squad push further into the training ground, leaving Crosshair behind on the tower.
When the battle seems to be taking ‘too long,’ Wrecker charges in alone to take down the droids, unconcerned about the danger to himself. Tech does briefly reach out to stop him, but then does not seem to be worried for his brother either, rolling his eyes as he watches from behind the barrier. While we do not see the reactions of the others during this moment, I assume they also were largely passive towards Wrecker’s antics. To me, this carefree attitude is similar in tone to the first few episodes of the series, in which the batch remain largely unaware of the danger they are in from the empire, and Wrecker begins exhibiting symptoms of his inhibitor chip activating. They remain unaware of this huge risk until the episode Battle Scars, in which Rex reveals the truth about the chips.
The composition of the shot in which Wrecker asks Tarkin for more droids to battle is also interesting - Wrecker is naturally larger than the rest of his squad due to his strength-based enhancements, and most shots we see of him are composed to enhance his size (e.g. placing him beside much smaller characters such as Omega). As far as I am aware, this is the only shot we have seen which purposely makes Wrecker look physically small - the height from which Tarkin is viewing him at does most of the work, but this is furthered by none of his brothers being beside him for comparison.
Tarkin himself is not a man of physically imposing stature - this is made obvious when the audience sees him beside the Kaminoans. So, the framing of this shot, with Tarkin appearing to be much bigger than Wrecker, makes the usually giant clone appear almost… doll like.
This shot, as seen below, could be interpreted simply as Tarkin looking down on all clones, viewing them as unworthy of service in the new empire. While I agree this is definitely relevant, I believe it is only a piece of a larger problem. Even in the time of the Republic, many nat-born officers viewed clones simply as cannon-fodder - as in, they were created and thus, expected, to die for their army. But, as we saw in The Clone Wars, many Jedi formed close bonds with their clone battalions, and were instrumental in the clones forming their own identities outside of their lives as soldiers.
Now, with the Jedi order destroyed, imperial officers such as Tarkin, and later Hemlock, are free to treat clones as they wish; simply as toys to be played with for their own entertainment, and to be discarded as soon as they are no longer useful.
Tumblr media
When Tarkin then orders the use of live rounds, Wrecker encounters a force even stronger than himself, which the audience can see takes him by surprise. This definitively foreshadows the activation of Wrecker’s inhibitor chip - as the ‘muscle’ of the team, it is likely rare he ever encountered an opponent he couldn’t fight off before, and yet both here, and on Bracca, he was caught off guard and suffered as a result.
When Wrecker is shot by the droid in his right shoulder and flung to the ground, it is Tech who puts himself at risk to move from behind the barrier and drag Wrecker out of danger. This mirrors how he is the first member of the squad and the most at risk of physical harm when Wrecker’s chip first activates. Interestingly, Wrecker is shot in the exact same place that Crosshair later shoots him in during their standoff in the hangar. As Wrecker would be viewed by many as the heart of the squad, having him end up injured in both of these scenarios is a good way to highlight that these moments are strong emotional turning points for the batch and their story.
Seeing that his brothers are now in active danger, Crosshair begins to shoot the new droids firing live rounds, still in his position atop the tower. When the droids then turn their attention on him, the shots they fire damage the tower Crosshair is standing upon. He abandons his post, hanging precariously over the edge of the tower for a moment before sliding down to the ground level. These moments could reference Crosshair realization that the empire does not care about any of the clones, leading to his decision to shoot Lieutenant Nolan, thus abandoning his imperial service and falling back to the very same low societal level that he began with, and that his brothers still occupy.
Once back on the ground, Crosshair returns to Echo and Hunter, but they immediately must move behind a barrier to avoid being shot. Pinned down, Crosshair’s sarcastic commentary during this moment shows he is beginning to lose faith in their ability to complete the simulation successfully. Echo comments that their training blasters are useless against the new droids- each member of the team is already aware of this fact, yet Echo being the one to vocalize it shows he likely accepts new information faster than the rest of his brothers (a notable progression in Echo’s character development since his first appearance in The Clone Wars). As such, Echo is the first member of the team to recognize the breadth and power of the new empire, and the consequences it will have for the clones. He is also the first to begin actively fighting against it by joining Rex’s clone rebellion.

What do you think about the season of the dawn mostly our guardians gravesite do you think it will come to fruition? I think it would be cool if they just killed us and had us come back someway. But I wanna know what you think.
I think about that very often. I think about Season of Dawn very often in general.
For those that weren't there, Season of Dawn had a community event that allowed us to explore the Corridors of Time. It was one of the most complex things that ever happened, only lasted for two weeks, and the solution to the whole puzzle led to a room called the Timelost Vault where we could see our own grave and hear Saint-14 saying an eulogy.
youtube
One of the most fascinating places we've ever seen tbh. The whole Corridors of Time were incredible to me, but that final room that took the whole community working night and day to find was something else.
We still to this day don't know what it truly means. In the eulogy, Saint says that we've died and that there was some sort of "final confrontation" and that he left a weapon we used there, shattered. And he also says that if we come back and aren't truly dead ("you've performed miracles before"), that we can take it.
Is this a prediction of the future? Is it some alternate timeline? We have no idea. The nature of the Corridors of Time is such that we just can't know. And of course, this was referenced in Season of the Splicer in one of the Expunge missions where Quria talks to us through our HUD:
Tumblr media
The area in Expunge where this happens is very reminiscent of the Corridors of Time, the only are that doesn't have colour:
Tumblr media
Corridors of Time:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But Quria was a Taken Vex mind so Quria saying this also doesn't help us. It could still be talking about an alternate timeline and not necessarily a prediction of the future. I think that as an alternate timeline, sure; it's absolutely possible there's a timeline where we died in any of the numerous battles for the system.
As a prediction for our own timeline... Hard to say. The Vex can't simulate paracausality, though the Corridors of Time aren't something the Vex made; they are just able to visit it and use it to move through timelines. So can the stuff we see in the Corridors of Time be a real prediction of our current timeline? It's definitely possible, but not something we can either prove or disprove for sure. I personally think it's most likely not a prediction, but it's definitely something to think about. Corridors of Time in general, as well as any timeline shenanigans, the Vex, the Sundial and the rest of the stuff that happened in Dawn.
I can see a scenario that mimics what Saint implies in the eulogy; that we "died" but that we're secretly still out there somewhere and can return. A story like that could make the grave and the eulogy true, but not have any impact on the playability of the game. But how likely that is? Unclear. I think that this ominous setting of our grave is a really cool setpiece that basically constantly looms as a possible threat in the background and we can never tell if and when that might come to pass.
One of the best setpieces in the game for me, but one that was unfortunately only there for 2 weeks. This definitely gave it an extra air of mystery and intrigue, but also it was highly inaccessible from the time when FOMO was much worse than it could ever be now. Even if you played this season, you could've easily missed this event. I almost did, as I was away on a vacation for a week when this happened and only got back for the few days after it was solved to run through it. This short availability definitely made the whole event feel much more ominous than perhaps intended so it's really unclear what this meant exactly and how relevant it still is and whether or not it was a meaningful prediction or just the consequence of being thrown into exploring millions of timelines. If anything, I would really enjoy seeing a reference to it in some way!

What Does an F1 Driver Do Between Races?
A racetrack might be the natural habitat of a Formula 1 driver, but making the most of the time away from the asphalt is also crucial when it comes to maximising performance. From debriefs and data digging, partner days and downtime, there's no time to take your foot off the pedal. We spoke to George to find out everything he gets up to between Grand Prix weekends. "The racetrack is the tip of the iceberg. The work that goes on at the factory is so vitally important. That's where everyone is aware of the car's performance," he explains. There's no gentle ease into the week. Drivers will often head straight back into the simulator, not to look ahead to the next race, but to go back over the previous weekend and see what did and didn't correlate between the virtual and real world. It's a schedule that doesn't always agree with a driver's sleeping pattern, either. "Take Australia as an example," says George. "I landed back in London at midnight. But I'll stay on a more Eastern time schedule, rather than shift back to GMT and then do nine hours to Japan in a couple of weeks." Win or lose, the best time to debrief will always be as soon after the event as possible. Sitting down with the team and talking about what could have gone better and how to ensure things will be different at future races is the priority. It's not all about screens, numbers, and data. It's a chance to come together and bounce thoughts and ideas off of a wide range of team members, be that the latest developments in the wind tunnel or an honest discussion with an engineer. "We'll always sit down and have breakfast and lunch together," George adds. Data analysis can take a few days to be completed. When it has, usually around Wednesday or Thursday, post-race weekend, there's a deep dive to be done. This is a full-blown catch up that allows a driver to truly digest the numerical facts and figures behind race performance. Formula 1 is a constant development. Dwelling too long on the past isn't an option and it's important to know as soon as possible what you're looking to try at the next event, but building a picture of what to try at the next race often starts during the race before. Drivers are so in tune with being on a racetrack that they may notice a performance trend at one circuit that will work well at another. "You may have just completed a quali lap somewhere, and you realise that what you have learned might be good to try at a race later in the year," reveals George. "In the world we live in, eyes are always forward." In between, the physical exertion doesn't relent. A driver will mix between gym sessions at home or at the factory. And it's not light work. "I'll usually do a double session every day when I get home, right up until the Monday of the next race week. From that point of view the week goes by pretty quickly," says George. More often than not, there may be some time on set behind a camera, carrying out important filming or marketing days with our partners. And what about downtime? Switching off while the engines are off is so important. Disconnecting from the world is a crucial part of a high profile athlete's itinerary. Whether it's a walk or just a catch up with friends or family, the importance of stepping outside that motorsport bubble for just a few moments cannot be underestimated. By now we're back into a race week. Prep done, the adrenaline and anticipation of racing is slowly building. A return to the racetrack beckons, and a Formula 1 driver can feel truly at home once more.

hello! sova headcannons (besides that he's a blonde bottom man who must be tormented)? also, thoughts on sova x chamber as a ship, if you have any?
(no pressure to answer immediately or at all. asks are for fun!)
Hello Hi Yes I am ALWAYS down to talk about this man so thank you very much for asking! ♥
Firstly, you have good taste my friend this man deserves to be topped and tortured.
So let's go through some basic background headcanons first, shall we.
Sova's parents either died when he was too young to properly remember them or when he was around 5-7, leaving him to be raised by his babushka
If his parents died later, I like the idea of Sova's mum having been either a soldier or an athlete (archery/shooting ofc) and being the one who got Sova his first bow / taught him how to shoot which is one of the reasons why he continued to practice and ultimately became a sniper since it makes him feel connected to his mother
His childhood is rather uneventful, maybe they're tight on money / struggling at times since they're living off what babushka can earn on the side and whatever pension they're receiving thanks to his parents so he learns at an early age how to forage/hunt to make ends meet
Joins the military as early as they allow because he figures this way he can get a stable income and support his babka at home as well, plus he'd be following in his mom's footsteps
He excels in the military, quickly being recognised for his exceptional aim and ends up in some kind of special forces where he gets to hone his skills further until he's established a reputation for himself
I like to think that it's during this time when he first meets Brimstone, maybe a joined OP with US special forces and they become fast friends, sprinkle a little mentorship in there, possibly Brim saving Sova's life disregarding his own safety
Which is why later when Brimstone is given the first order to form a special team, Sova is one of the first people he recruits and, of course, Sova instantly agrees
His feeling like he owes Brimstone only adds to his habit of overworking himself for the Val protocol because he will NOT disappoint Brim
He's a good little soldier, you tell him to jump he asks how high
Oh god I have so many headcanons for my sweet son, I could go on forever BUT you didn't ask for a novel so here's just a few random ones
Due to his military background he's one of the best hand-to-hand combatants in the protocol and takes over training the other, less experienced agents
He definitely has a soft spot for the younger agents, especially Gekko, Neon, KJ etc.
He pushes himself extra hard, insisting on running more simulations / practicing more than the others because he has to keep up with his Radiant/genius/augmented squad mates and preserve the only edge he has in this fight
Maybe he doesn't always wear his cybernetic eye because it sometimes overloads his brain/overstimulates him
NOW before I ramble on forever... you asked me about Chamber/Sova and let me tell you YES. Yes Good. I absolutely love Somber ♥ ( I wrote a little Somber OS at some point and I have at least five wips for them if only the writer's block didn't beat my ass all the time)
Not only do I personally think Chamber is hot and I want to see him play my babygirl like a fiddle but there's like so much potential. Because Chamber's easy, flirty nature is so different from Sova's, especially if you headcanon Sova as not having a whole lot of experience in the romantic/sexual department, which, chef's kiss tbh.
Plus, Chamber's more... grey-ish morality, his 'am I really on your team or are you just part of my plan' attitude, clashes so nicely with Sova who clearly follows a very rigid moral code.
I really love the idea of Chamber having a fun time getting under Sova's skin and the poor owl not having a single clue how to deal with it???
Don't get me started on Chamber using his indefinite resources to spoil Sova and Sova being so uncomfortable with all the fancy gifts...
Also guns. Let's talk about guns. Because I see Chamber's Tour de Force and I can't help but think 'what if he allows Sova to use it, or they get into a situation where Sova is forced to use it to protect them'?? How exactly do Chamber's powers work? Does he FEEL it when someone else touches his guns???? Is it an erogenous zone
I mean Chamber clearly respects Sova's skills (how could you not) and I just see him as the kind of man who sees something/someone he wants and then stops at nothing until it's HIS. Featuring Sova who is both confused by the blatant flirting and totally NOT down to indulge Chamber.
You can also go with the trope of Chamber being purely interested in getting Sova into bed playboy style while Sova is the 'i don't do one night stands if i date someone it's bc i'm serious aboutt hem' kinda guy. Chamber who is used to getting what he wants is both frustrated and determined to win him over to the point where he doesn't even realise he's developing actual feelings until it's too late~~ whoops~ (damn i wanna write that lowkey)
ANYWAY
Thanks again for asking lmao if you want you can join the bottom Sova server on discord where you can read through several dozen weird AU ideas or headcanons we came up with for Chamber/Sova amongst other ships lmaoo

I mean your plot for the movie
like what i think the plot is gonna be? sure
um - i think we'll probably start with RWBYJNR (possibly assisted by Penny and Oscar, maybe Winter also) trying to track down the Remnant-side villain who trapped them in the simulation in the first place (still thinking it's Doctor Merlot because he's the only villain that the heroes have actually faced that would also conceivably have the resources to pull this off because none of them ever actually met Watts and this is set during volume 7 so there's no actual beef to justify the setup Kilg%re gave us for this villain), possibly receiving help from Batman and Green Lantern who are still inside the simulation (as we never saw them leave)
the investigation would reveal Merlot - while manipulating Kilg%re - constructed a portal to Earth (and either there's an initial confrontation before he flees through the portal and the group has to chase after him or he's already gone (i imagine in either scenario he's probably got some captured, possibly mutated Grimm with him because that's kind of his thing), and the group follow through the portal because the damage he could do to either world (unleashing the Grimm on the Earth populace or stealing and abusing the technology available on a DC Earth, especially as he will have at least some idea of what to expect from information harvested in the simulation with Kilg%re and the JL)
this inevitably leads to a team-up between the JL (with other members we didn't meet the first time, like Black Canary - this is why i suggested we might get some more of the Remnant cast involved too so it's still an even split) and RWBYJNR + company, and likely splitting into smaller sub-teams (like the Mari, Yang, Diana and Dinah team we saw in the screenshot) so they can deal with the disasters Merlot is causing across the city and probably also Kilg%re (who is likely also gunning for Merlot)
Merlot may also team up with another DC villain while he's on Earth (they did specifically namedrop Brainiac and Vandal Savage in the first one) so there can be a bit more of a climactic fight because... once you get through the Grimm and the shit he's stolen you are just gonna be beating up an old man, so there needs to be something else there
i don't think we'll see much of the plot we're getting in the DC/RWBY comics (which is set during early volume 6 anyway but that revolves around Salem directly working with Luthor to merge Earth with Remnant by nature of people and things from Remnant simply being on Earth - so all the superheroes are getting semblances in addition to their own powers which... wouldn't really add much for a film, and it doesn't really gel with the plot we're gonna have to follow up on from part 1) beyond the character designs from RWBY because Yang's design is a partial translation of her design from those comics (much like how Bruce and Clark's designs are fairly close to the designs we got in the RWBY/JL comics)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
anyway - the portal between worlds is probably also causing dimensional instability so it's like "we gotta drag this guy back to Remnant and shut the portal down before it rips our realities apart" or something, so the two groups have to have an amicable farewell, and then we get some kind of epilogue scenes with the two groups going back to their usual business of saving their worlds or something

How do the Ro's feel about mc sleeping/getting "help" from multiple people? Or how do they see monogamy and relationships in general?
I was planning for my mc to be a hoe, but now I'm worried about breaking Malkorath's heart lol
i talked a little bit about this here; the upshot is that there's no judgement or repercussions in-universe for being a hoe (obviously, that'd be odd in this kind of game lmao) but it just. naturally limits how close you can get to the characters in some circumstances because you're spreading your time between them all (or whichever ones you're spending time with anyway) a bit thin. i unfortunately with my feeble mortal hands cannot simulate an entire fantasy universe where you have all the time in the world haha
i did also mention in that post that both Malkorath and Suchebh would want monogamy if the relationship between them and mc was going to be explicitly romantic, but this isn't Retroactive (as in, they're obviously not going to reject mc or avoid them if they've spent time with other characters previously), rather, once mc gets close enough to them it will trigger a conversation about the nature of the relationship (particularly if you've been taking choices that are Romantic in nature) and there's no hard feelings if any aspect of that doesn't work for you/mc. so to allay your fears, you won't end up breaking Malkorath's heart at least XD continuing with a platonic relationship that may or may not include sex is not counted as. A Loss from either of them :)
the reasons that both of them would prefer monogamy when it comes to romance are quite different; Malkorath has a lot of self-esteem issues associated with like. not particularly believing that someone would deliberately choose to be with them (I think probably from a purely character perspective, time would soften this and eventually they'd be comfortable enough with mc potentially having multiple partners once more, but at the beginning they would not be comfortable with it), while for Suchebh a lot of their idea of romantic love is tied up in/coloured by/created in opposition to various aspects of their demonic nature as an embodiment of lust and for them, being willing to give up on their previous lifestyle and feeling that they'd be satisfied with just one partner is like... their idealised fantasy of what they would want romantic love to feel like. like if they didn't feel that strongly about somebody it couldn't possibly be Romance
all the other characters have no problems with polyam and romance being combined (the only real limitation will be, again, a time budget). as a disclaimer i hope it should be clear that i by no means consider romance and polyamory incompatible (given that twice as many ROs are fine with it i hope that speaks loudly enough lmao) and also obviously the Specific experiences and feelings of two demon characters aren't meant to speak for entire communities of polyam people (myself included)... it's just some (hopefully) interesting character work.

Because I don't rewrite canon in my "main" universe, I've been thinking about how many games of content I could get out of my in-between and post-game canon if adapted to be more SR-like.
This is really only stuff based on my own ideas; stuff that befits my universe, and realistically there are other people's ideas that I would like to see as games too but that would feel too much like stealing to include here.
2.5: A full game or DLC about the Saints rise to fame, as well as looking at what ex-Saints and associates are doing during that time. I like to think Gat and the Boss are continuing to do some pretty violent shit behind the scenes while Pierce takes charge of the cleaner side of things. Shaundi's... somewhere inbetween.
3.5: A full game or DLC about all the well-hidden gang shit the Saints take on in Washington as well as the Boss's official journey to becoming President, with certain events (press conferences etc.) also becoming more violent for the sake of the game.
Human Nature- Post-4 DLC: The thing about a Zin and human working together to produce significantly more terrifying simulations; there would be very little focus on virtual Steelport; it would be all about the sims themselves and I like to think it would use the player's Boss from 4 but you would play as each Saint as they fought their way through.
Out of Time- Post-GOOH DLC: (but I think it would be a DLC for 4) of my fanfic but based primarily in the world shown in 3.5. Rewritten almost entirely for far more action to allow for different romance options, with cutscenes reflecting the kind of bond
5: Focused entirely on the battle for the new planet. Much smaller timeline than I see for the other games, about 2 weeks, but with a reasonable variation in environments. Basically SR meets Borderlands 2/Pre-Sequel, ngl.
Two DLCs for 5 based on the two particularly bad alien attacks that caused the town on the new planet to have to be moved.
Out of Focus: A dlc based on my sequel fic plot. Again written differently to the actual way I'm writing it to allow for different romance options.
Then some kind of wrap up DLC? Or possibly combined with the last one to make a 6, but either way I'd want a resolution. I think the whole planetary cloaking thing is a reasonable way to have an "end". I'd also like to see an ending cutscene where the next generation of Saints join ready to inevitably take over but with like the sunlight in such a way that we don't really see them fully, implying that they are, in essence, custom characters in themselves.

Holy cow YOU worked on TTN?! Manz ur the source of my new hyperfixiation! i would like to know if there were any abandoned plot points in TTN while writing? :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
Don't get me started on the amount of plot points that didn't happen! Let me break it down chapter by chapter.
Spoilers Ahead!
Chapter 1 didn't have too much. There could have been an attempt on Cho's life in the very first chapter if he hadn't hesitated or the murder had happened any later. When I look back at it, I realise that offering his life to Seika was a little unintentional foreshadowing.
On the other hand... Had that chapter gone a day longer, Cho would have started having cannibalistic thoughts. It's still fun to think about what could have happened.
Chapter 2. Oh god there is a lot. Shall I start with how Cho almost ended up as the culprit for this chapter? I'd always known he was either an early chapter or a late chapter death, most likely as a victim. (Chapter 3 really said no to that idea, didn't it?) And I considered very early on having his sacrificing nature leading to an attempt of self sacrifice that got walked in on and accidentally ended in a murder in the struggle. The idea was dropped after his conversation with Zack and Randhir and it's a good thing it was! It wouldn't have many any sense with the events of SSS.
Speaking of SSS. I almost had the thrown knife cause serious harm. It almost ended up in his eye instead but I decided to be merciful that day. He had just had a panic attack, I could spare him from a bit of extra suffering.
A really big plot point that was completely dropped was why Cho fought to stay alive when attacked by Shujin. He had theorized that they were in a simulation or a place otherwise unreal due to some unexplainable occurrences and the landscape outside the window being all the same as if it was looping around. If it wasn't for SSS and Case 2 back to back he would have told Zack about it. The game could have even ended earlier if hadn't had his spiral.
It's Chapter 3 time! Oh have I got a lot for you. He was going to have a full on villain arc throughout Chapter 3 eventually leading into a possible redemption in Chapter 4 if someone finally got through to him. The wheel had other plans so it had to be cut short.
A fun one would be what he won from the game. Cho almost won a therapy session with Mononaishi where they would just make fun of his problems. It would have been a lot of fun but wasn't included due to time constraints. If TTN was to be adapted for a game or video series I would absolutely add it in as bonus content.
Case 3 could have been so much different. I was going to reuse the discarded Case 2 idea but have him try to get everyone killed due to his villain arc. While never directly mentioned, he actually theorized the Chapter 4 motive a chapter early which could have led him to the idea that it wasn't worth escaping and killing everyone would be a mercy. We're lucky that didn't happen with what turned out to be the truth!
Surprisingly I don't think there was anything from Case 3 itself that went unused. The benefits of roleplaying it out.
The last thing is something that could have appeared in Chapter 4 but didn't due to a mix of me not asking for permission for it and none of the characters considering looking for it. The voice recorder and Cho's notes. There were a few possibilities for what he had recorded. Early on I considered the idea of him recording one message from Shujin and one for Zack between the crime and the investigation but there wasn't enough time between the events. So I decided that he likely recorded himself talking about his two theories and considering who made the most sense to be behind the game with the recording ending on him commenting that he was out of pages in his notebook and he should see if the Storeroom has a spare one before the recording cuts off. This was never heard due to noone considering checking his carriage.
And I think that's about everything!

Whumptober 2022 No. 17 - Stress Positions
09/2000
"You didn't think you were getting out of this, my young Captain, did you?" Hank welcomed Scott in his new-old lair with a good-natured wink.
"Been a while since you called me that, Doc." Hank didn't think he'd ever seen any member of this old team of his looking so deeply and thoroughly exhausted, and he doubted it came from some undefined damage he needed to take a look at. The simple fact that Scott very much not looking at the door to the single room where his girlfriend was sleeping her concussion off, said enough. As did the faint layer of salt from too many dried tears on his cheeks.
"And you still have the same sense of self-preservation of a five-year-old that I tried to lecture out of you back then already when you kept on body packing sharp metal objects for challenge. I hope we're beyond that at this point." Hank pointed a claw at one of the stretchers in the main examination room. "Clothes off everything I need to see. I'll be right there. Still trying to find my way back around in these rooms."
"You know you could have started in your own apartment. We've got no medical emergencies right now." Scott grudgingly made his way to said bed and sat down, that was as far as his cooperation went for the moment. Not a lot of surprise on that front either.
Hank waved him off, digging out with relief some leftover pair of giant gloves from the very bottom of some cabinet, and quickly bit off his claws before pulling them on. "Piotr is still busy carrying my furniture up there and finding a place for everything. I would never have asked but young Mister Rasputin looked like he could use something to do. He takes it very hard that he wasn't with you guys up there to help. Thinks he could have lifted that damn jet in the air with his bare hands or something."
"I know." Scott buried his face in his hands with a suspiciously shaky sigh, still not even halfway back to his usual composed self so shortly after this catastrophe. Certainly not enough to be even remotely ready to pick up all his duties again … and yet all too eager to load a blame onto his back that Hank had never aimed that way in the first place. "They're all traumatized. But Charles thought it's better to throw them right back into the school routine. Keep things as normal as possible, you know? And the kids took to it well enough. They're all so much tougher than we are, Hank, you have no idea. The teenagers, I'll try to talk to tomorrow. I'll do a few simulations about Alkali Lake together with Logan for them to train in, that usually helps them feel like they're prepared next time …"
"Scott, if you don't stop trying to do your job half a day after one of us died, I'll put you right under instead of throwing x-rays and blood tests on you." Hank used the beautiful short silence as Scott looked at him in a combination of offense and gratefulness, to pull himself a chair close with one foot claw. "The only one working in here right now is me. And when I work? Just like you, I expect people to follow my orders. Shirt." He waved a tourniquet and a needle in Scott's face. "I've skimmed the first reports, my young Captain. You've been under a heavy psychedelic influence caused by a biochemical substance of unknown composition. I'm not letting you walk out of here and crash into your bed tonight before I made sure, your system is clean. While we're on it, send young Mister Wagner here next, the same goes for him. And while I drain you dry, start talking."
"About what?" Though he was finally starting to unbutton his shirt with stiff, awkward-looking movements, Scott was showing such a deeply rooted cynicism and self-loathing that hadn't even been there when Charles had taken the boy from the streets in, to be his team leader back then before he'd even been legal, that Hank couldn't help but wince. Yeah, that too had changed since he'd left this house behind for the sake of his own mental health, leaving alone everyone in here alone who could have used the same protection. "About how that son of a bitch hurt our children because I wasn't home to protect them? About how I helped him almost kill every mutant on Earth? About how I failed to save my ex-partner from drowning herself in a goddamn lake right before my eyes? If you're here for a good story, wait another day, then the mission protocols are complete."
"Stop biting. I'm the feral here." Realizing that the still so young man was in a lot more pain than he'd let on for even a second earlier when Charles and he had unceremoniously welcomed back Hank into their house, their team and their staff, Hank reached out without asking to pop those buttons open himself and help Scott out of his shirt. With his upper lip drawn back between his fangs, he was silently preaching himself patience before a premature word of irritation or hurt pride could come from his own lips. You're not the only one who lost someone they loved, would have been a correct but entirely counterproductive statement right now, towards someone who tended to carry the weight of this world on these nowadays far broader trained shoulders anyway. So he silently put that tourniquet around Scott's biceps once he'd made sure with brief unobtrusive glances there were no signs of what Stryker had put him through at least on his front, and pulled up three alarmingly dark red vials to put into the entry bin of the Shi’ar laboratory scanner next door. "Don't even think about it," he growled when he heard from the rustling of fabric that Scott was already trying to put that damn thing on again. At his backward glance, he almost took a double take, realizing he'd looked for injury in the wrong place, and picked up a manual scanner on his way back to his patient. Gently placing one hand on Scott's as usual far too stiff shoulder in a silent warning, he realized with a deepening frown that even that slight touch seemed to hurt the young man at this point, and placed it slightly lower, on his arm, before holding the tissue scanner against that ugly, circular wound on Scott's neck first. Those other, more common-looking traces of blisters and reddened skin between his shoulder blades, he ignored for the moment. "It's already crusting, and there's no contamination. Just on that side of too subcutaneous but if you keep your hair a little longer, the scar should be easy to hide." Since Scott, predictably, had only a shrug to spare for that which ended with a tortured hiss though, Hank went back to the bloodwork scanner monitors next door and to the supply cabinets because he'd never been a big fan of starting treatments before he knew all the conditions. A brief glance at the lab results at least made it clear why Scott's pain tolerance was rapidly declining. A bowl full of disinfectant, clothes, and burn cream in his hand and a blister in the other, Hank stood behind his patient again, putting the Tylenol down next to Scott demonstratively. "What you swallowed earlier to finish the mission is starting to wear off, my young Captain. I'll let you resupply as soon as you start being a grown-up and tell me what they did to you in that damn facility so I can repair it. Or you can pass out from tiredness and pain at some point and I'll just keep looking. Either way, I'll get some rest in you, so I'm fine with both choices."
"I didn't swallow anything," Scott answered flatly, only the way his shoulders were immediately tensing even harder giving away his growing irritation, a movement in spite or maybe just because it was visibly unpleasant, judging by the faint sheen building on his neck, drenching the band-aid Hank had just put there. "Two of them forced the stuff down my throat to make sure I'd be in the perfect condition to shoot my own teammates. You'll forgive me if I'm not a lot in the mood to numb my mind any further today, Henry."
"It wasn't your fault, Scott. None of this." A pain that had taken hold so deep couldn't be purged with a few well-meant words. But some reassurances needed to be drilled into the heads of certain leaders who saw themselves responsible for so much more than necessary every day over anyway, before at least the most necessary cover of rationality could be thrown over such unfounded blame. Having been born a child of the mid-forties, Hank, fortunately, didn't have much of a problem with sounding like a broken record. "You can shake your head at me all you want. Part of you knows I'm right. You were taken out by someone who had no other than Lehnsherr himself dancing on his strings. You know my admiration and fascination for your gift and skill, my young Captain, but I'd say, a small miracle would have been needed for you to not take a hit or two from that guy."
"Do you hear me arguing, Hank?" Scott rested his face in his hands once more but startled up again with a wince when the change of posture pulled on those voltage burns on his back. A grateful breath of relief was on his lips when Hank started cleaning those fortunately also superficial traces as well and countering the worst of burning with a cooling gel. "I'm telling you the same facts that will be in the files, nothing more, nothing less. I'll let my team and our children decide what to make of them. As long as I'm still wanted in my position after what happened, I'm not going anywhere. But you're gonna have to leave it to me to be my own judge because right now, I'm a person short of the few people I'd let that do for me."
"By your own choice, from what I hear." That also wasn't his business, sadly, though Hank would have had to say a lot about all those tears infusing the air of that certain room next door. About how not to let an already heartbreaking tragedy ruin a relationship that had seemed so stable in the last half a year. Some wounds needed longer to heal than others. Seeing as Hank as well wasn't going anywhere anytime soon, he'd have enough time to try to mediate between these two equally stubborn young people. For today, even his own usually quite resilient strength for mending someone's mind on top of their bodies had reached an all-time record low though. He could only hope Piotr would be done with putting up his bed by now, because suddenly he felt like he could sleep for 48 hours straight himself, and he hadn't even been on that damn mission … which was something that his own guilty conscience would give him enough to deal with about in the days and months to come. "At least stop straining your body any further. You're gonna need it if you want to keep doing this job, you know. Wanna tell me what I'm looking at or should I make another guess?"
"Unfortunate combination of Strappado and cattle prod. They weren't too happy about how unimpressed their questioning left me." Scott winced once more when Hank started to feel down his shoulders in alarm, the right one especially that he'd started to go easy on in the last few minutes but forced something like a weak grin on his lips. "They were nice enough to pop my shoulder back into place, don't worry."
"Yeah, that's about how that feels. I need an MRI here. That Shi’ar tissue repair beam is gonna get a lot to do tonight." Hank rolled his eyes a little and let Scott know in no unclear gestures to lay down on the stretcher, on his stomach. "Anything else you want to remember now or do I need to undress you in your sleep?"
"Not a scratch, Doc. Cross my heart. Weapon X tends to keep their slaves in good shape to not fuck up their plans." That already sounded far too bitter again for Hank's taste, but at least Scott let himself be helped with getting in a slightly more comfortable position, only gently pulling his head away when Hank rested his hand on the back of it for a moment in support. "Save it for the kids. I'm alright."
"You've been tortured for two days, you had your body and your mind stolen from you and lost both one of your best friends and your relationship in one day," Hank returned mercilessly. "If you would be anywhere near alright at this point, then I'd ask Charles to throw you off the team, my young Captain."
"I'll heal," Scott said shortly, and that was also true, probably. Hank hadn't met a lot of people so unbelievably stubborn about coming back up like this fucked-up young soul Charles had made his second-in-command there before the kid had even known what he was doing. "You know me, Henry. I'm not a bad patient. I'm just not hot on a lot of unnecessary procedures right now. Give me a few hours of shuteye, then I'll be a lot less cranky."
"MRI," Hank repeated sternly because as much as he understood that notion, there were some things that couldn't wait. "If that doesn't show me that I need to cut you open right away and you don't fall asleep in the tube already, you let me hook you to an IV to go easy on your stomach and take the edge off for the night. And once we're both less pissed off, we'll make sure you won't feel every single weather change in that shoulder from now on. That a deal?"
"You've always been a ruthless negotiator, Henry." It thankfully sounded increasingly sleepy already.
"Learned from the best." After a last soft squeeze of the young man's arm, Hank went next door to prepare said MRI which was as good an excuse as any to blink that annoying salt from his eyes. Fuck, he wasn't in any way ready for this. But much like a certain team leader back there, he had no choice because there was no one else who could at least try to fill that huge gap Jean had left in this house and in all their lives today. By making sure at least the rest of said team wouldn't walk away from that ugly clusterfuck that had been Alkali Lake with any more damage than necessary, Hank hoped he could at least start to do her memory justice.

I think another trope in otome games that doesn't get talked about enough is the age gap romances with teenage heroines and adult love interests/ vice versa. The former moreso since it happens more often. I remember some people would try to excuse it when the setting is an older time period because "it was like that during those times" which A) that doesn't make it okay in the slightest, and B) they're fantasies anyways, their only gonna appeal to the creeps who find that hot or whatever. I don't mind large age gaps between adults (aka, what DoubleScore, Bad Medicine, and Variable Barricade should've been) but I cross the line at a teenager and adult being in a relationship. Same goes for relationships between non blood-related siblings, they are still siblings because they were raised by the same people and have an established familial relationship. I barely see otome game reviewers talk about those tropes for some reason, and they just ignore bringing them up altogether.
I feel like the issue is just that the heroine being the only one allowed to have romance in her life (the best friend can get some but they're nameless nobodies so nobody get jealous of her) make it that she have to be... Well herself but to attract the attention to a large panel of guys including those who want older ones.
As a result you get heroines dating their teachers. I don't think it's particularly because of the age gap but more about the attempt to satisfy a lot of players at once.
The solution to that would be that when games do have more than one heroine the second would be an adult to give you access to the adults. And also for me, another adult heroine who look like ones is always good to take.
But as far as I know otome game seem to have more variety when it come to set up.
For the incest it's just... The game really sell you their relationship as being siblings at first so it's normal that the heroine see the guy as her sibling and then we are supposed to believe that just because they aren't actually siblings him secretly loving her wasn't weird and her falling for him is natural (Hey Lindo that's about you!)
Well. It's not. That's just not believable to me really.
But again we both take the heroine as a character not a self insert there just to be a vessel so we live our fantasies of either having older sexy men onto us or a devoted guy you know since forever being your real love all along because it's how we are supposed to perceive it
As someone who value a lot family relationship it's just not something I can ever transpose into romance and for the older men me wanting anime female characters who look like adult make it that by design I will cringe at the vision of a high schooler with her teacher even though I like him.
You do have the teacher route in tmgs too but now like Dengeki Daisy and Takane to Hana that I used to not have issues with, the fact that I have the old of the teacher make it that I am like hmmmmmmmm... Welp
As why people don't criticize it I feel like it's just because it's accepted as fantasies and you know I feel like in general stuff in our media aren't criticized by fear maybe to show to people who belittle it on the basis that it's for women that yeah actually it's trash while it's just that the fantasies are different?
I feel like in general there's this idea of not criticizing anything feminine else it's against the feminine you are, not the issues within the story.
And also maybe these reviewer just don't want to bother with a possible controversy thinking more deeply about some aspect of the game they played.
I just feel like it's not as simple when you consider how otome game is perceived, so I guess players of it just don't want to hear more slander when the people they know will look at them weirdly for playing dating simulator.

How do you feel about AI art and ChatGPT?
Going to show my ignorance here, because honestly, I don't really see what the big deal is?
I'm not saying that the development of these projects is a good thing. I don't know enough to really comment one way or the other. But I know how angry a lot of content creators are getting about this, and it just doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I get the idea in theory, how it steals work from writers and artists. And maybe that's happening. That could be a problem, a huge problem even. I won't presume to know the situation.
But given the limited nature of artificial intelligence, I don't see a great migration coming.
ChatGPT can't be much more advanced than other AIs, and an AI writing passages for us is a concept that already existed, leading to great moments like Harry Potter and The Portrait of What Looked Like a Large Pile of Ash. If you've not read that yet, go check it out. It's hilarious. But you know, it's only hilarious because it's so clearly "off." It doesn't sound natural, because it was never going to. Computers may be good at mimicking humans but they still don't have a soul, and in creative writing, that's going show itself. Nah, I predict the most common use of ChatGPT is going to be teenagers using a machine to do their homework for them. Which isn't...good, I suppose, but it's not the end of the world either. People have been using Google Translate to do their Spanish homework for years. It's just a thing that happens sometimes.
As for AI Art, I mean, same thing applies. I've seen AI Art. John Oliver did a whole hilarious segment on it. AI Images aren't exactly perfect. I've seen them before, and there's always something a little "off" about them. Plenty of them don't get the instructions exactly right or otherwise cannot translate what you tell them to create, at least not perfectly. I've experimented with an AI art generator, just to see what all the fuss was about. Let me tell you, it could not make heads or tails of my request to depict "short middle eastern androgynous kid with heterochromia in hufflepuff robes cuddling a snow white cat." While not all requests are going to be quite so specific, I feel like this probably isn't a big deal? Best thing I got out of it, by far, was this image of the Cheshire Cat wielding a lightsaber.
Tumblr media
(Which, by the way, my instructions for this one were "Cheshire Cat having a lightsaber duel with the Cat from Coraline," so. Even this one was lacking. I still love it though.)
I could very much be wrong, and it's possible I just need to shut my mouth. If there are artists and writers out there who could help me understand what I'm missing, please, I welcome the counterargument. But speaking as a budding writer myself...I dunno, I just feel like this isn't going to be as big a problem as people think it is. Maybe I've been watching too much Star Trek, but this feels like the first step toward the Holodeck simulators, and I wouldn't exactly call those immoral. (...Depending on you use them...) Like, this was an inevitable step as we move toward the future of AI, and while I do think AI is something we should always be careful about...this just didn't seem like a major leap to me.

Watched The Thirteenth Floor from 1999. Interesting how a lot of these turn of the century science fiction movies use the trappings of film noir as a basis. And I don't think they're all doing it because Blade Runner did it. Probably something to do with all the mid-century science fiction writers that these movies are either inspired by or adapted from having stints writing detective books to pay the bills. And a murder is a good setup for a story.
Enjoyed it. It losing the Saturn Award for best movie to The Matrix is correct. It's a decent movie, and while it doesn't feel old, The Matrix feels noticeably more modern. Like seeing the way the future would go. Also, even though they cover the same ground, "what if everything were a simulation", they come at it from very different angles. The Thirteenth Floor, "what if you tortured the NPCs in your videogame". The Matrix, "what if *I'm* a simulation??". And The Matrix, I feel, simply mines a richer vein for drama and intrigue. It leans more into the paranoia of the premise. There are actual consequences for the protagonist learning the truth of their world.
And, I can't blame the movie too much, since it's from 1999 and based on a book from the sixties, but it's funny how certain it is that humans will turn to complete monsters if they get to play god over simulated people. I know the book was probably thinking more of the idea that the Nazis turned people into lampshades and soap because the systems they got from IBM for cataloguing people turned their victims into meaningless numbers, and that they were therefore disposable. This idea pops up a lot in post-war American fiction. That modernity and barcodes and ID numbers are going strip away people's humanity and reduce them to a number. In the book, the digital city is set up to model marketing trends, that's why I think that's what it's aiming at. But to modern sensibilities, even from 1999, I would say, the obvious analogue is a videogame. And the idea that everyone who trapped their Sim in a pool and deleted the ladder behind them would turn around and try to do the same to others in real lief is laughable. People definitely did worry about it, in the same way that they worried about TV before that, but it's still very funny.
Could have done without the threat of rape at the end. Again, I understand the thesis of the film. Getting to be lord and master over simulated people unleashes all of man's baser impulses. Still. Felt pretty gross. Felt like a big jump in the level of violence shown by the rest of the film.
Pretty good looking film. Clear distinctions between each layer of the simulation. Although, I noticed a goof. The newspaper at the end says Monday, June 21, 2024, but it's not! Not a Monday, it's a Friday. Even the spellcheck popped up telling me it was wrong. Movie cancelled!
But, yeah, it looks good. I was curious if they were going to show the "real" world, and what they would do if they did. But they kept it fairly subtle. Some modifications to the LA landscape, but other than that everything and everyone looked more or less as they would have when it was filmed. Possibly made easier for themselves, when I was skimming through the movie again, the "current day" of the rest of the film does have a slight 80s look to it, even though the computers clearly don't, nor are they dressed up to be. Whereas, "2024" has a more fashionable, but casual look. Has a very "Garden of Eden" look too. There's all this golden light and natural tones, open airiness with the wind blowing in through open doors and green plants in the background, the wife character in this skin tone satin that moulds to her body in a way that reads as her being naked without having any actual nudity.
Lot of similar visual storytelling used to convey ideas before they come into play in the plot. Like, editing back and forth when the hero first goes into their simulation, so you already have the idea that the simulation he displaces might travel up out of their home simulation. Sometimes this is a little too clearly conveyed? I kind of had the idea that the hero was in a simulation from the way the movie repeated certain elements between "1937" and "present day" in the opening scene. Took some of that intrigue away when the hero reached the edge of the game map, something that The Matrix retained.
But, yeah, I overall recommend it. It's perhaps a little more plain than Dark City, solid but plain, but it's still interesting to watch. I can see why it helped inspire Inception, particularly with the editing between layers of simulation.
(Wtf, it received mostly negative reviews?? It is not that bad. Not spectacular, but mostly what it's missing is some tension. Really not that bad.)

you know, the idea of a virtual world has always interested me too, something like a mini planet that truly feels connected. but I've always found a single problem in particular.
for the scale I'd want to see, there's simply no fucking way a single server, regardless of how strong, could handle it. you'd need the most god tier server farm possible to simply keep up with processing for everyone who'd be there, and by the tike you get it you'd probably be bottlenecked by stuff like the laws of thermodynamics and the amount of data that can fit through your cables.
I do have two key solutions in mind, one of which being a stargate like system that'd honestly defeat the point, but the other idea is that it could be more feasible if we managed to make room temperature superconductors a thing. less resistance means less heat, higher bus and R.A.M speed, and overall being able to handle more updates for more players on the equally sized world.
I don't mean this in any kind of rude way but I don't think we're the same on this one. I don't say anything here out of mockery, nor do I mean any disrespect.
I really don't want to seem rude but it doesn't feel like you're speaking from a realistic point of feasible action. Like, why do you need all those bells and whistles? Why bother trying to create something so cumbersome and large that it would require future tech we literally don't have? Or that the common person couldn't obtain?
I mean sure it's always cool to think about the future or to think in terms of "what if" sci fi scenarios. But the tech we have now allows for so much creativity and I feel strongly that you could achieve a reasonable approximation of what you want in our age if you didn't rely on it being so grand scale.
I mean the other big thing is you speak of it needing a massive server because of how many people will be there, but there's no way to assure that there will be that many users.
A big thing with what we currently have these days is that users need a way to connect with the world in question, VR allows a pretty solid entry point for that. However it's not without it's flaws, even the cheapest VR headsets aren't, you know; cheap. They take a reasonable amount of computing power as well so even if you can afford a nice headset you're still running the problem of needing a computer that can keep up with VR resolutions and graphic outputs. We're talking essentially either a dual monitor setup or a simulated dual monitor set up being projected from your computer on resolutions typically around 4k on modern hardware. That's not exactly easy for a computer to just, do.
So then what about desktop users? Surely desktop users could connect to a VR world via something like VRchat right? Well yea but as a good friend of mine put it "it's like you're all at recess and I'm just watching through a drone." The interaction, immersion, and capabilities of someone viewing a world via Desktop mode are going to be wildly different. Primarily lacking compared to something like VR that is capable of really immersing someone.
If you really could pull off something like this, and you don't want to use a hosted service like VRChat that already has a userbase, you're asking your users to obtain hardware necessary for accessing your world, and a computer that can handle that hardware; and then on top of that you're asking them to discover and sign up for your own thing.
I mean to even create a world of that scale would take quite some time to put it lightly. It takes entire teams of people to create things like Elden Ring which are massive games, even if you cut out all of the mechanics and just focused on world creation, if you wanted to make something genuinely quality in nature you're going to need a lot of time and effort. You wouldn't be able to waste time developing your own servers and backend processes or the hardware to run something like that and still actually have time to create a world of that scale.
I apologize if it sounds like I'm just sitting here shitting on your vision, I don't intend to do that. It's not that I think either of us are "right" or "better" or whatever. Without people who dream big we wouldn't have half the advancements in tech we already do. I just think that your visions are a tad too big for us to be on the same page.
My idea is to create a world using what we have available to us in today's age. Where the biggest hurdles I may encounter are learning how to script in UDON or figuring out how Unity works on a deeper level. The hardware exists, the software exists; I'm not asking for a super computer or a stargate.
I don't have anything against you or the interest you have in world creation, the idea of such a thing would be fascinating; but it really feels like you're hung up on the needs of a problem you don't even have yet. You want to scale at such a degree that you've created an impossibility for yourself. I just can't really get behind that.
When it comes to things like this I'm often quick to tell people that they should break their problems down into smaller steps, rationalize a solution; and just focus on taking the first step.
However, here I feel like you're just aiming significantly too big; to the point I don't really see a reason for it. I understand that the idea of such a scale would be impressive and really cool sure, but why? How? What would such a scale truly achieve that you couldn't do with something more manageable? Why not simply start small and work up to something larger? Break down the issue, use current tech and start figuring out how to develop the world you're dreaming of?
I mean I think it would be really cool to see someone with your ambition working on VR worlds and the like with the hardware and software we have now. If you haven't already, which I assume you probably have at least somewhat; wouldn't it be better to just start learning to use applications like Unreal Engine or Unity or something, start making worlds; start uploading them to places like VRChat or other hosting services so you don't need your own servers.
There's a million solutions to server problems, host it somewhere else; host it across multiple servers; downsize until it works. I mean, it feels like you want there to be a problem. Your solutions are futuristic in nature, they don't feel realistic at all. The scale you want is unfathomable to a degree I don't see a need for it.
If you started development on something you could maybe secure funding to further your work through something like patreon or donations, you could use that funding to secure various server farms and such and little by little you could maybe actually achieve this. Instead of feeling like your solutions need to come from stargates and thermodynamics.
Sorry this ask sort of blind-sided me. My opinion ultimately doesn't matter to your life, so please don't let my words bring you down or anything. Perhaps I can't understand your grand vision, that's not sarcasm; that's not mockery. It's entirely possible that you have some kind of vision in mind that is truly a spectacle that the world would be bewildered to witness within our lifetime and should it be something you believe feasible at all I genuinely only wish you the best of luck on it's creation. However I cannot say myself that I would aim for such excessive need for scale. We've seen scale without substance before, time and time again the flood of "open world games" that have over-saturated the market with empty worlds and needless scale are a perfect example of what I mean when I say that I don't wish to create maps/worlds without purpose and reason to them. I'm not saying you would necessarily do that, but I fail to understand how any person or even a team of people could handle such a scale without relegating work to some kind of procedural generation. When you take into account just how long it really takes to create even small worlds, you can begin to see that there are cracks in your plan that have nothing to do with server space and sci fi computers. I would love nothing more than to see you succeed. So I genuinely hope you're a more intelligent individual than I am, and have some kind of idea how you're going to pull it all off, granted I'm not actually very smart to begin with but you know what I mean.
Just because I see this as something needlessly excessive and impossible doesn't make that opinion or view true; it just means it's my opinion. If people only believed the voice of a single individual all the time we'd never get anywhere. I only ask you be gracious when proving me wrong, because I would love to explore the world you some day create and experience your vision; maybe then I will understand the need for such scale and we can see eye to eye.
Hopefully you don't view me negatively for such an opinion, though I wouldn't necessarily blame you for not being thrilled at my response.

For what reasons would members of the Gen'ei Ryodan impregnate their S/O?
Tumblr media
TW: Mentions of forced relationship, forced pregnancy, gestation, breeding kink, body changes, parenthood, children, possible threat to children
Tumblr media
Phinks:
It is the type of couple that is extremely overprotective, at the same time that it is extremely dominant, there is no better way of dominance than to impregnate your beloved, leave her plump and unable to do anything, so that she does not do anything stupid, nothing bad happens to her and there is no doubt that he is your absolute owner because you are carrying HIS child, and the idea of fucking you pregnant isn't something he's going to refuse either, he likes the idea, I'll just say that and of course he will love his child, I feel that he is the type of man to whom being a father comes naturally.
Feitan:
I don't feel that Feitan understands that concept of "family" and "parenting" and he doesn't care much either and if you're not very interested in the subject, pregnacy is not something that is going to happen, BUT, if we go to his sickest and most twisted side, especially the sadistic one and mixing it with a yandere or quite sick theme, if he sees that the idea of getting pregnant from him terrifies you as he is your captor, he is going to impregnate you with desire and on purpose, just to fuck you, torture you and well, in the process he will mark territory, by fucking you he will torture with the idea, if he achieves his goal now he only has the same thing left, making you feel bad, making you feel guilty, but he will probably still take care of you since in the end you are valuable to him.
Uvogin:
He barely fell in love with you, he knew that you were going to be the mother of his 78 children, Uvogin is the stereotype of a man who wants to get you pregnant 24/7, it won't even be two months after you have given birth before you are already pregnant again, he simply likes it because it is a way to keep you by his side, dominate you and take ownership of you. He has a fairly activated reproductive instinct due to his barbaric and somewhat animal nature. He's excited about getting you pregnant, he's excited about having you pregnant, he's excited about being able to fuck you when you're swollen with his babies. Added to that he may be a horrible person, a thief, a murderer and many other things, but it comes naturally to him to be a father, he loves his children, all of them.
Nobunaga:
The truth is that I feel that Nobunaga is one of these characters with the authentic desire to one day have children, he likes the idea of raising little swordsmen who run from one place to another simulating an epic and legendary duel and there is no better way to join the love of your life than forming a family (That's what he thinks) It doesn't matter much if you agree, it will still happen.
He is going to get you pregnant, he is going to take care of you and he will do everything humanly possible to be with you, of course I also emphasize that probably doing it with you even if you are pregnant, it is quite exciting for him.
Franklin:
I wouldn't know how to interpret him very well in fact, I feel that he is not someone who is dying to be a father but he also does not hate the idea and if you ask him he will listen to you, he will take great care of you and his little ones. (I DON'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT FRANKLIN, FORGIVE ME FRANKLIN FANS!)
Illumi:
The same as with Uvogin, but somewhat different. He would say that he has a fairly marked kink breeding because in his family he has seen it as common and necessary to have many children (he literally has 4 siblings). When he fell in love with you the next thing in his brain was to imagine the family he would have with you as soon as possible. Once you are together (Whether by marriage or kidnapping) Illumi will probably have locked himself in the room with you until he makes sure that you are pregnant, Illumi never shows his emotions, but when he is fucking you and has you tightly grabbed, his body trembles of the emotion and excitement of being able to get you pregnant. Once you are very pregnant and swollen, he won't stop fucking you either (As long as your child is safe), he can simply become more obsessed with you now that you are carrying his baby. If everything goes well, I estimate at least 7 pregnancies, furthermore, all these pregnancies are going to be followed, as soon as you give birth, it will be a matter of time before he impregnates you again.
Hisoka:
I don't find any logical reason, he likes the idea of having a partner, but not forming a "family." The only reason I can find is that in his moments of madness and revenge.
Especially if he has already left the Gen'ei Ryodan and wants revenge, if you are a partner of one of them, he will impregnate you with hatred and desire but only for revenge.
Shalnark:
I think we have already talked about this in this profile multiple times but we will do it again.
Shalnark doesn't want kids, he hates kids, he hates kids grabbing his things, he hates not being the focus of your attention and everything related to pregnancy and having kids.
BUT
It is an idea that he can consider in the same way, if he consider that you have problems in the relationship, he will consider an alternative to soften you and tie you down.
In other situation, if you mention it to him, obviously you have to beg him if you are the one who wants to have children, but if you are convincing, you will have your child.
But Shalnark is cruel and twisted in nature, I don't think he is someone who loves his children in a paternal way, he probably sees them as a pet and will appreciate them (Also as something to blackmail and threaten you with).
Chrollo:
Chrollo is a being of curious, selfish and greedy nature, a being rejected by the world. I think he has that desire to form a family and ABOVE ALL, have a child, it is something that will finally be authentically HIS.
It's not that he KILLS to get you pregnant or it's a mortal necessity (Like Uvogin to Illumi) but it's a recurring thought.
It doesn't matter if you agree or not, he's still going to get you pregnant when he can. He is going to push hard into your pussy and he is going to cling to your body telling you how beautiful mother you are going to be and how he is not going to stop until you are all swollen and pretty, that you will be his queen and that he will do everything for you.
Simply love your pregnancy, love hugging your belly, talking to it and planting soft kisses on it.
