Henlo
You know who it is, we all know, henlo
I feel like I’ve been here a lot recently
Just starting off with saying I loved the Dazai piece. It was really cute. Dad Dazai trying his best, made my heart melty
But I think you know why I’m here today
On this day
Honestly the day doesn’t entirely matter but I’m here on THIS one
With the dad Fyodor thought I promised
Cuz here I was thinking to myself. I feel like Fyodor definitely wants his child or children having some connection to Russian culture, since that’s a part of them too, regardless of their other parent’s nationality or background, he definitely wants his included. (Tho his partner could totally do the same)
So I was wondering, would you like a piece of him either teaching his children Russian or making Russian food for them? Or really sharing any Russian cultural thing with them at all. Honestly whatever one is easier for you to write or go into detail with, they’re all equally cute.
Cuz if his child or children develop a connection to that, I feel like that would make him a lot happier than maybe he would fully show.
I hope this ask sparks the creative brain juices in a fun way
Also considering sending a Halloween themed request at some point idk… oh but who knows! We’re here rn and having fun with this, that’s all we need at the moment
Also real glad you enjoy my messages lol. I will absolutely keep sending. Take as long as you need
-the person here attempting to give everyone baby fever because it’s funny
This blog’s Dad Fyodor anon
"da!" - Dad!Fyodor x GN!Reader ੈ✩‧₊˚
Warnings; Google translate Russian, not much reader involvement, very minimal proofreading happened
Description; Dad!Fyodor teaching his child about Russian culture! It incorporates ideas from the first dad!Fyodor part.
Tumblr media
A/n; YESYESYES I one hundred percent agree, I think about this on the regular OMG I hope I depicted this well bc my knowledge on Russia isn't all that extensive lol, if you have any corrections, do tell me!! : ) Also I'm gonna be so fr I had NO idea what to name this so we're rolling with da I guess.............
Headcannons !! ༊*·˚
★ He teaches his child/children classical Russian music when they're old enough to play more difficult pieces. Until then, he'll settle for twinkle twinkle little star.
★ Introduces his children to ballet.
★ His children have a variety of Russian-originating toys, such as Matryoshka/Russian nesting dolls, rocking horses etc.
★ Brings his children to Russia at least once, specifically to Moscow (irl Dostoevsky was raised in Moscow, so we're gonna assume BSD Dostoevsky was too) to experience the culture first hand.
★ Teaches his children the foundations of the Russian language. He would like them to fluently speak it one day, though.
★ Cooks Russian food for them like I mentioned and included in the first part.
★ They learn about Russian history from their father, anywhere from Peter the Great to fur trade and all that jazz
Scenario !! ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥
(as always, p/t is parental title, d/n is daughters name)
Your head leaned against your fist while you watched your husband and daughter focus on their current activity. D/n carefully picked the colors and pigments she would use to color in the white spaces on her paper, and Fyodor just tried to keep things inside the lines. You could see the little girls tongue slightly sticking out from between her lips in concentration, making you smile.
Your daughter went to pick her next color, chosing a pink crayon to fill in the nose of the cat. "Papa, what'd you say your hat was called again? The one you always wear." She clarifies, even though there was really only one hat that Fyodor would wear at all. His eyes don't leave his thin paper as he replies, "A ushanka, and it's from Russia, malyshka." He answered, pushing some of his hair out of his face and behind his ear. "Russia." She says, the sound not unfamiliar, but not common to her either. "Where's that?" She tilts her head upwards, putting her crayon down to signify her attention on her papa. He puts his down too and rests his arms on top of one another.
"Quite far, but it is in both Asia and Europe. That's how big it is, it stretches over two continents." He says, a smile on his face. Her eyes widen a little. "That is really big. Have you been there before?" Her head tilts and she shifts a bit in her seat. "I grew up there, in the city of Moscow." He says, happy with her clear interest in his motherland.
"We should go there for a vacation one day!" She says, a grin on her face. He laughs a little bit and nods. "I agree, we definetly should." He agrees, fantasizing about it in his head. "Is that why you talk like that?" She questions her fathers accent, skittering around the table and climbing onto his lap. He smiles gently and nods. "Yes, it's called an accent, malyshka. I learned English, but Russian is my mother tongue. There are a lot of different pronunciations for certain sounds in Russian." He tells her, his hands fidgeting with the young girls hair. He parts it into three sections and starts to braid it.
"Is everything different there?" Fyodor hums, thinking as he weaves her hair into a gorgeous French braid. "Well, it definitely very different, but I don't think I would say everything." He says. "There are more historical differences than anything, if I do say so myself." She hums in understanding. "Papa, can you teach me some Russian?" She asks, turning her head to look at him with puppy dog eyes, even though she really didn't need them. He smiled and nodded.
"What should I teach you?" He softly questions, looking into the young girls eyes. She thinks for a moment, tapping her pointer finger on her chin. "I don't know! Whatever you want." She says, just excited to hear another language. He chuckles softly. "я не знаю, что тебе сказать" (I don't know what to tell you) he responds, a small grin on his face. Her eyes widen, almost as if she never believed he could speak a different language. You giggle a bit at her reaction.
"What does that mean?!" She excitedly asks, her mind seemingly blown over this. "It simply means I don't know what to tell you." He speaks. "But I can tell you the simple stuff. Like 'да' means yes and 'нет' means no. Hello is 'привет' and goodbye is 'до свидания'."
The young girl takes a mental note of these words. "привет, papa! I think I said that right." She says. You proudly watch the scene go down. Fyodor gives you a similarly prideful smile. "Yes, you did wonderful, malyshka." He praises her, patting her shoulder. "I'll have to teach you more one day." She nods vigorously, very obviously wanting him to. "Yes! And then we can have secret conversations, no one else will know what we're saying!" She snickers, making him smile.
A/n; I hope this is alright!! I loved this request a whole lot. Oh, also, feel free to send in that Halloween request even though it's November now lol
"Oh, ofcourse. That will probably be rather far in the future, though." He says, removing her from his lap and gently patting her back. "That's okay. If I learn more I'll know more words." She states the obvious. "And I'm gonna learn from the best russian ever." She beams, making Fyodor grin. "That's right, sweetheart."

The new trailer was interesting. It did the thing I didn't really want it to do by spoiling story related stuff and not reveal the actual new Pokémon we're missing, but for what it's worth it seems like the story will be pretty content heavy. Let's look at some screens I took and speculate on some stuff: and a friendly reminder that nothing I say here has any bearing on leaks that are possibly out there, so if I guess anything in the future, it was just a guess:
Tumblr media
This crystal tree is pretty suspicious. Like first of all, this appears even DEEPER into Area Zero than we've been before, assuming. Did something or someone plant it here? Is it the remains of an underground world? Could it possibly be related to a legendary? Not to mention the FULL crystallization of the tree, vs the partial crystallization of the trees up top. It's definitely not safe to be here for long.
Tumblr media
Next, Z move pose! BBA is off the coast of Unova, but there's a lot of Alola rep here. I wonder if they're doing this because Bank will shut down soon and this will be where they want us to get Alola forms for the next 5 ish years before they discontinue Switch online services?
Tumblr media
Next, this is Crispin and what appears to be proof the BBE4 won't be restricted to singular types. My friend pointed out that this could possibly be a sun team with Exeggcutor there. Wonder why they opted for Kanto when Alolan is there? (I mean besides Kanto being why).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next, the reveal of, WHOA WHODA THUNK, Champion? Corrupted Kieran anyway. I made a post a few months back when they showed off this guy from the neck down and made the prediction he'd be champion- that's not entirely confirmed just yet, but it does seem to be pointing in that direction. It's not really that much of a W because GF can be very predictable with their writing.
Anyway he looks heavily corrupted- YEAH LETS GO VILLAIN ARC!!!! His hair is fully purple now- honestly I'd have preferred it with black like before, but it's probably symbolic of his corruption. My friend even pointed out his hair kinda looks like the Toxic Chains the Loyal Three have- theory time, whatever gave them the chain is also corrupting Kieran because look at him. No light left in those eyes. Just rage. Fun :D
Tumblr media
Next we have this- I assume it's Penny or Mela tbh, because I saw from a ways back where it seems like Team Star's Giacomo has reintegrated into Naranja/Uva Academy. Maybe Penny has stopped dying her hair and grew it out or Mela is being super proper now or something. Could also be a completely unrelated character.
Tumblr media
Lastly for major story stuff, this is cool poster material. Kieran's rage or possibly fear of Terapagos, Carmine's worry for her brother, Briar... I mean come on, she's a villain in waiting, look at her face. Idk if I'm too quick to claim Terapagos is evil though, because the anime has firmly planted him in Just A Little Guy territory and I don't think they'd want to ruin that image considering they've been in charge of hyping him up since Horizons first started.
But yeah, the culmination of everything we've been through in one image. Kinda exciting.
Oh, and just some small tin foil hat pics
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's odd that they paired these trios together to me. Pokémon loves sprinkling breadcrumbs to tease at future projects, and these could pass for potential Legends starter trios.
But not for Unova.
Tepig and Snivy are the odd ones out here because it'd be kinda dumb to re use Unova starters for a Legends Unova game- now for Johto? Squirtle, Treeko, and Tepig COULD work, but Squirtle is also pretty close to home.
If I'm being real, this is probably nothing and just meant to highlight the starters across different generations coming home, with Tepig and Snivy being stand outs because this will be their first time being available on the Switch. Ever.
Other notable things I didn't screenshot:
BQs: basically side quests.
Synchronization? I guess? We can actually control a Pokémon. Conspiracy brain wants to say this is alluding to something, but I'm unsure. It's at least kind of neat because this has been a topic of various NPCs in the series for years. Those were probably just alluding to Mystery Dungeon games, but when Game Freak does something like this in DLC, it could hint at a future mechanic or possibly a feature in a future game.
Legendaries returning: I'm gonna be real, I'm not really all that excited by the prospect of yet another Legendary Bargain Sale that they've been doing since ORAS at this point. ORAS, USUM, Crown Tundra, and now Indigo Disk. At this point the legendaries are more common and accessible than some common pokemon like Furfrou or the elemental monkeys.
What's interesting to note are a couple of things:
1. DLC pokemon from SwSh are here too, including Kubfu. That's interesting, I wonder how it will evolve considering we needed the two towers in IoA last time? An NPC from the dojo?
2. Boi if you thought I wasn't gonna talk about the Unovan dragons- they didn't HAVE to single them out like that! They didn't have to. They did, though. I'm pretty sure we all know their next projects.
You may be saying "but it's too fast!" And I agree. They need to stop rushing things and take their time, but we all know they won't. All we can do is hope they actually try this time.
Anyways that was the last trailer for Indigo Disk. Maybe it's my severe depression talking, but I'm actually excited for Indigo Disk. It looks very content heavy and a bit prettier to look at than before. I hope it runs okay- I mean it won't, but I still hope it. I also hope this isn't as quick as Teal Mask was.
1 week lefts, bois

episode 11 was pretty good! i think they're starting off the rest of season 1 well, still feels like we're setting up and laying down groundwork for a big climatic reveal and tragedy, which is exciting.
some thoughts under the cut
im interested in knowing what the hell Celia is up to, she's the character I'm most invested in understanding her deal with her obvious link to the old tma universe. who is jack??? I'm foggy on the details of tma characters but that has to be a previous character somewhere
also the case was pretty good too! nice to see life altering tattoos make an appearance again, ink5oul as a character will be fascinating to encounter in the future since they're definitely going to make more reappearances, possible villain of the season? i don't think so but it's not going to be the last we see of them for sure.
something about this season is that it's more fan servicey in some ways, but i don't particularly hate it because i have a feeling it's going to go horribly wrong. it's too saccharine, i don't trust it when things go well in tma it's a precursor to sadness lmao
like the "office romances" to me just feels like a bait, i don't believe tmagp will just earnestly have a romance story that isn't tragic, (because that would make me drop the show) because it would be a little anticlimactic also someone will die for sure by s1 end i just don't know who it will be
a part of me thinks it's Celia because she knows more than the rest, but also Colin because he's close to finding out, or maybe Gwen will kill Lena who knows! anything could happen
I'm also starting to actually believe that Alice is hiding something because her insistance to not follow through and connect anything is a giveaway. but not for nefarious reasons, just because she cares for Sam and doesn't want him to be further involved. and considering Colin wanted to speak to her in reference to the computers she must know something, even if it's just how the programming infrastructure works
also Alice's beef with Gwen seems to run a lot deeper? i don't think it's just bickering it seems like she actually has animosity towards her. maybe it's a class disparity thing because she's mocked her for being rich and it seems that she's financially supporting her younger brother, maybe she resents her because Alice has to work this job for stability and can't leave but Gwen could be anywhere else and has the audacity to lecture her on doing her job, idk I'm just speculating. toxic yuri amiright
half joking on that i still don't see or fully support any ships because i tend to be a person who wants to see the canon unfold first before being invested in ships, i like having the full picture to work with in regards to fan interpretation. that being said seeing the ships the fandom is cooking up is sweet.
regardless the rest of the season seems to be interesting, i like the format of mid season hiatuses, i think it has a good chance of keeping the fandom a little bit calmer? because they have time to digest and think rather than jumping the gun week to week.
and with the speculative nature of the fanbase it's enough time to go back and understand the story to pick up plot threads too, because reading the transcripts once over during the break was pretty helpful, highly recommend them they have a teeny bit more info that adds a little extra to the scenes. not necessary to read them but they are nice
my only complaint is that sometimes the episodes feel too short, but that's more just because I'm invested and i wanna know more :)

Hi idk if your writing rn but if you are how about Reader who fully believes that they're going to go back home after a certain amount of time.
The reader believes that as long as the vampires realize we aren't going to rat them out to other humans once we get out that we're free to go home. That about the only thing that's keeping their sanity in check.
So when things happen they just respond with "it's fine. Once I'm home anyways I can forget all about this." pretty often. It helps them power thought that they won't be stuck walking on eggshells for the rest of their life worrying about being murdered just about every straight line or turn.
They're mostly nice and stay out of everyone's way unless they really need to put their foot down. So though the time they stayed they kinda became everyone's friend in hopes of just being able to have an easier time until they realize they're no threat and can go home.
Can you do the first years? :)
Sorry if you don't want to/ if requests are closed. You can just delete it
Thank you so much for requesting, I really loved exploring this idea!
Reader who believes they’re going back home eventually + First years (Vampire AU)
cw: aged up characters, slightly yandere (?)
Ace:
Ace makes snippy comments that might upset you, but he really can’t help it when he hears about how you want to leave them.
He feels a bit betrayed, more so by how casual you seem about leaving. He knows your situation isn’t ideal, but Ace feels like you should be willing to deal with it for them.
For a long time, it was just him and Deuce. Now that they’ve made the effort to include you and Epel in their lives, it truly feels like a bit of a slap in the face to him.
Ace doesn’t consider that he’s more frustrated than he should be that someone who’s just a friend is leaving, but all he can preoccupy himself with now is trying to shut you down when you make comments like that.
He’ll mock you, with a laughing tone like it’s just a joke and not your future, about how it would really be impossible for a human like you to escape from a practically ancient vampire like Lilia.
He does feel guilty when he sees you upset, but he doesn’t necessarily feel like his statement was incorrect, even if it was harsh.
With Deuce’s help, he will try to make it up to you in his own way, by finding fun things for all of you to do, which he hopes will help distract you from your problems and from wanting to go home.
Deuce:
Deuce feels similarly upset like Ace, but he is much less angry and much more sad. He knows you don’t owe them anything, and that your friendship has probably just been one of convenience do you, but he still hoped that you might care more than it seemed.
He already does all he can to help you make your life more comfortable around the mansion, from making your bed if he sees you’ve forgotten or (attempting) to cook you a dish you’ve mentioned in passing that you miss from home.
Deuce will eventually have a talk with you about how he’s feeling, not wanting to bottle it up and end up resenting you when he knows you don’t deserve it.
He knows the conversation is uncomfortable, but he’ll force himself to tell you how your words upset him. You reassure him that you do truly care about him, and all the others, but you can’t live sanely knowing that it isn’t truly safe for you here, and that you don’t have the freedom that you should.
He does come to understand, he knows you feel trapped and that it isn’t them. He’ll still miss you, and it’s not a small part of him that wishes you could stay, but Deuce wants you to be happy, and he’ll let you go with his full support if that’s what you truly want.
Epel:
Epel might just be the most hurt by this. Sure he understands, you have a real home to go back to, but is it really that easy for you to leave him?
You’ve become his best friend here, and he thought you felt the same in that aspect at the very least.
He’ll definitely become grumpy when he hears you saying you want to leave and that you’ll forget about everything. That everything includes him, doesn’t it?
Epel will actively discourage you from leaving, even if his tactics are questionable at best.
If when he gets desperate, he’ll start organizing times for you all to spend together, ensuring you have a good time before popping the question on you: isn’t it great here? Don’t you never wanna leave?
While he does want to make you see how the life you could have at the mansion wouldn’t be so bad, he doesn’t shy away from leaning into any guilt you might be feeling, laying on the tears if he needs to.
You might start to get the feeling that Epel is acting strange, really not like himself sometimes, but if you bring it up he’ll tell you that he can’t help the way he’s been feeling knowing you’re going to leave them.
If Epel reaches a point where you leaving is a real possibility and not just your daydream, he’ll resort to extreme measures to keep you with them. Getting you in trouble with Lilia isn’t something he wants to do, but he needs you, so you can’t leave him just yet.
Epel would eventually snap out of his delusion after he sees how he’s been making you suffer, and realize how living here is affecting you. He always knew his wishes were selfish, but when he finally realizes the real danger you’re in at the mansion, he knows keeping you here would be more than cruel.
He doesn’t lose hope in your future together, rather this shifts his idea to one he actually likes even more. The two of you, away from the mansion and all the other vampires seeking your attention, and finally living together like a real couple.
Jack:
Jack can’t lie and say he wouldn’t miss you, but ultimately he knows that you hate being trapped here. He isn’t delusional like Epel.
He’s sympathetic to your plight, and he won’t say anything to object when you voice your beliefs about returning home.
He’ll try to play along with your thoughts, asking questions about what you’ll do when you’re back home. Jack can tell it distracts you from your reality, and he knows that’s something you could always use, even for a few moments.
He would never dream of asking you to stay, knowing that you would never truly be safe around this many vampires.
If he had romantic feelings for you, he would certainly push them down. Even if they were reciprocated, Jack could never justify keeping you in danger for his own person gain.
Jack would even go against Lilia and help you escape if you asked him. Even if he gets punished, if you’re safe and happy, he’s happy.
Sebek:
Sebek is stuck between “good riddance, now you’ll no longer have a chance to seduce and hurt Malleus” and “how dare you make Malleus sad by leaving”.
Both of these sentiments just cause him to be angry at you, and you’ll find that his verbal lashings are more harsh and frequent than usual.
Living at the mansion this long, you’ve already learned to tune him out, which frustrates Sebek even further.
Although you’re wise enough to not make comments about going home in front of Lilia, Sebek wouldn’t think twice about complaining to him about you.
He doesn’t do it out of malice, Sebek really just wants advice from Lilia, but he does unintentionally get Lilia to keep a closer eye on you, in case you decide to try and leave before he’s deemed you safe.
He ultimately doesn’t really understand why you even want to leave. Lilia is no threat as long as you do what he says, and Malleus is here so why would you ever want to leave?
Lilia will eventually make up an excuse to try and soothe Sebek, telling him that you might be having conflict with some of the residents which has caused you to want to leave, and accidentally convincing him that he’s the one making you want to leave.
Sebek will never tell you that he wants you to stay (he hasn’t quite figured that out himself) but he will make an effort to stop saying negative things to you, meaning that he just doesn’t say much at all in your presence. After all, he knows what your friendship means to Malleus, and he couldn’t let himself be the reason for his unhappiness.
Sure, it doesn’t hurt him to enjoy being met with your kindness after ceasing to vilify you for being human. But it’s not for him, it’s for Malleus’ sake that he’s playing nice. Right?

obsessing over Izzy in the "stranding the crew" scene today
he's so... elated and not even hideously (tm) this time, because for once his actual mood (enjoying getting rid of them, enjoying that they have no idea) matches what he needs to project (excited about the talent show) (honestly the fact that Izzy seems to be into the talent show should tip them off)
he's so DRAMATIC, like again his grandiose delivery of "Edward is expecting a WONDERFUL talent show" and I would say especially "Edward probably wanted to discuss feelings or something" is definitely fuelled by how easily fooled they are & things seeming to be going back to normal, but tell me that man isn't also just getting off on performing
Tumblr media
he lies so easily about why they're there etc but when Pete asks where Lucius is he says nothing. I actually missed this until now because I had thought it was Izzy that said "he'll turn up", but it's Wee John who says that. now I really want to know what he would have said if John hadn't unwittingly let him off the hook.
HIS RIDICULOUSLY WIDE STANCE SHOWING OFF HIS MANGLED FOOT. I 100% believe he's intentionally displaying the evidence of "Blackbeard [being] himself again" (which I've said before I don't think he fully believes deep down but he really needs to believe it) & getting enjoyment from the crew not picking up on it
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(overall I think the source of his elation here is the double whammy of not just "it's my reality we're in now, not yours" but also the crew still believing it's their reality. getting one over on them. finally.)
his characteristic negative emotional intelligence when the lie he goes for about Jim is "Edward wanted to discuss feelings". we never see him interact with Jim directly but surely. he has met them. especially ironic when this is a lie he could have better deployed about Lucius, considering the day before he fetched Lucius to discuss Ed's feelings.
also having thoughts about how Con said the two people who intimidate Izzy are Lucius and Jim and here he is having to answer for the whereabouts of both.... idk these thoughts are still brewing

This looks like a fun idea, so here goes! :
Tumblr media
What do you think of this guy🙃?
Oh wow! Good character you chose there ahahaha! Roselle Gustav aka Huang Tao!
First impression
Honestly, I was floating in confusion at the start a bit, considering it was my first Chinese webnovel, so I had a period of readjustment to the writing style (or the translation ig?), so I didn't immediately connect the dots that Roselle was a transmigrator or that he's... kinda "dead" lol
Buuuut, once the dots connected, I did find him quite amusing! Bro's self-confidence gave me second-hand embarrassment, but not That bad. But also, Klein was bashing on him so hard, it was kinda hilarious.
I don't fully remember what impression I had of him, since I was reading pretty slow in the beginning and some ideas were lost, but overall, fun guy lmao
Impression now
Hilarious guy, a meme, a legend.
Yet...
Quite unfortunate that his end was just endless suffering (which will hopefully not be endless haha...). Bro made small mistakes in the beginning when he didn't know Anything, when he was transported to a world he didn't know anything about, forced to adapt and live a new life. I don't know, I find him tragic, just like Klein.
At least he had some good times along the road (especially with a demoness heh). The funny stories were nice to read.
Favorite moment
Basic, but his first talk with Klein. I mean, him meeting a fellow transmigrater and quickly having faith in him was sweet. I really wish to see more of them :>
If we're talking about the diary entries, I'd probably choose when... uhhh the corruption thing. Roselle going to the moon. And when he gazed into the Abyss. I remember how the diary entry abruptly cut off after dumping a lot of info and both Klein and I were Flabbergasted. What did it MEAN-!!
(I have a feeling I'm mixing up the moments, but the feelings remain. The confusion, the anticipation and the wonder from some diary entries were Amazing)
OH, and the last diary entry of course. It was so chill-inducing! It was one of those moments that answered a lot of questions while also bringing even MORE questions. It was just- the atmosphere full of fear and uncertainty, putting into question what that fellow transmigrator went through, wowie~
Idea for a story
Well, let me shuffle in the corner of my brain...
I've always been a fan of Time Travel AUs. So the idea of Klein (at a higher sequence but not Saint Level, maybe? Idk, a lot of possibilities here) travelling to Roselle’s time period and the two of them becoming best buddies (Roselle’s words, not Klein's. Klein's facepalming in the background at Roselle’s shenanigans).
Maybe! It could be a young god Mr Fool using his domain over Space and Time and having a misplaced adventure during Roselle’s time.
(We're pretending the Outer Gods and CW isn't as dauting of a problem as they are in canon, aye?)
Anyway, doesn't matter which version of Klein or during what time he's visiting, it's mandatory that he facepalms at least once :))
Unpopular opinion
Well, I don't know the popular opinions, so I'll guess I'll just go with an opinion.
I mean, he totally could've treated his wife better. I can understand feeling a disconnect with this world and humanity in general, but at least don't bring shame to her name by being a known womanizer, mm? At least divorce or smth, man. You overthrew the government, you could definitely do that.
Unless he actually did divorce her and we just don't know. But otherwise, yeah. Kinda dick move there, Emperor.
Favorite relationship
(Platonic, right?)
Again, basic but. Roselle and Bernadette.
The fact that Bernadette spent so much time searching for a father she was on dubious terms with and how much faith she had that he persevered against all odds.
The fact that Roselle’s one and only tie with this new world was his daughter, his beloved child that he loved with all his might. A child he shared a piece of his old world with. A child he remodeled this entire world's structure for. Absolutely heart-warming.
Favorite headcannon
Hmm let's see...
Huang Tao, as a young individual who surfs the internet, would know a lot of memes or jokes. After becoming Roselle Gustav, those memes aren't easily forgotten.
I mean, is it canon, actually? Maybe he made several Chinese meme references and I missed them lmao. That would be funny
Bonus: imagine Huang Tao and Zhou Mingrui bumped into each other one day, unaware that the next time they'll meet each other, it will be after more than 10 000 years, give or take. ...what's the timeline here?

I’m team william and kate definitely, but lately I’ve been assessing things to kind of get in the bottom of things and understanding where it all went wrong. I like to be more nuanced in viewing these people. I think some people can get carried away with viewing them in the worst way possible. While I do see Harry and Meghan as very problematic people, I wanna be careful about getting into batshit crazy conspiracies. Reading about all the conspiracies sugars have about kate’s condition opened my eyes a bit. There are a lot of people who hate h&m that actually sound as crazy as the sugars, but the difference is their conspiracies are directed towards h&m instead of w&k.
That being said, all the stuff with Christian Jones and Dan Woottoon seem shady to me, but tbh I don’t really fully understand what everyone’s been saying lol. But tbh, if Christian Jones asked Omid for Finding Freedom excerpts in order to bury the affair rumors, I don’t think that’s throwing Meghan under the bus exactly. We all know from the Jason Knauf emails that Finding Freedom was viewed by the KP comms team and Harry and Meghan as a way for them to correct narratives, so using excerpts from Finding Freedom to bury the affair rumors is like using positive Meghan stories to bury rumors about William that may or may not be real. So in a way, Christian Jones was just doing his job in a hitting two birds with one stone kind of thing by protecting two of his bosses in different ways. Idk, does that make sense?
It does, you make a lot of sense.
Scobie's issue seems to be two-fold:
He isn't as objective in his reporting of the royal family as he claims to be. Which is fine - everyone has a bias and a perspective that influences the way we see and interpret things. Where Scobie gets into trouble is by telling us he's completely objective, but not ID'ing who his sources are and telling us to "just trust me" instead.
He's right there in the thick of everything going on. To use a Superb Owl analogy, Scobie can only see the linebacker right in front of him, while we're up there in the sky box with a vantage point to see all the players, all the refs, all the coaches, and we're getting the commentary and analysis.
Both of these go hand-in-hand and affects how Scobie sees things. His experience of being welcomed by the Sussexes while being pushed away by the Cambridges, and similarly seeing the Cambridges push the Sussexes away at the same time, makes him more sympathetic to the Sussexes. He's more inclined to see things through their eyes because he has the same experience. And again, there's nothing wrong wtih that. It's human nature to bond over shared experiences. Where Scobie takes it too far is by refusing to consider other explanations, especially ones that are outside what he saw for himself. Maybe he doesn't see them because he's right there in the thick of things, or maybe he sees it as spin from the opposing side.
I do think you're doing the right thing, anon, to take a more critical approach to royal-watching. Royal-watching, like all hobbies and fandoms, is a spectrum that runs the gamut from toxic extremes to indifferent neutrality. Figuring out how you like to look at these things and doing the work to find where you fit in on the spectrum can make it a little more enjoyable, because then you're around more like-minded people and the discussions and the conversations are more open, especially and particularly when you disagree.
I like nuance too (in case you haven't figured it out yet) and I like looking at things critically. For me, the world has more colors than black and white, and there are more options than a binary either/or solution. I admire the people whose convictions are so strong that everything fits neatly into an either/or model, but I know I could never be like that. I'm too fascinated by "well, if I turn my head this way and if I sit down and I squint, does it change anything?" And sometimes it does. It's why I like reading the royal books; sometimes I learn new things that change how I think. For instance - Sally Bedell Smith's 2017 book on then-Prince Charles changed my perspective on Charles. Scobie's chapter on race in Endgame made me see that he does genuinely care about the firm needing to look like the people it serves and he isn't only doing it for the headlines or because he's in Meghan's pocket - and if that makes me a sucker, so be it.

Do you think that the solangelo contains more of a forceful representation, and if so, what is your advice to authors who are trying to make lgbtq+ representation seem more a part of the story/flow with the story then the opposing option?
May 22nd. I'm so sorry, my mind has been going off track for a while. I'm really sorry for the delay. 😭😭
So, regarding Solangelo as a representation, well this is gonna be hard to say lol. This has been circling the fandom since the day of its emergence, and this is certainly not a good time but eh penny for my thought ig.
Now. I suppose I have a very varying definition of representation, but let's not dwell on that. As for now, I can say that I do consider Solangelo somewhat forcefully developed. As in, the term of writing, plot-wise, etc...
It's quite difficult to say. I have no problem with Solangelo as a couple - or their dynamic - per se. Rather, it's the pacing that throws me off. This has been addressed in many posts - Solangelo has a quite... abrupt (?) takeoff. I just felt like Rick did not mean to make them a thing but just a spur of a moment - something small and... promising that you left hanging at the end of the series for reader's interpretation, for whatever reason (This actually lines up with Boo's time of releash I think? The LGBTQ+ literature being unpopular I mean).
In fact, Solangelo's whole developing process happened behind the curtains - as in, we're told, not shown. Imagine. In BOO, their friendship just barely sprouts, and the next time we see them again in TOA, they're already a couple. For the longest time possible, it was left to the reader/fanfic writers to deduce wth happen for them to become a couple in like idk 6 months? (A pretty fast process for someone like Nico imo. but that's just me).
Something like that is bound to raise some doubts.
The full picture itself is only revealed - partly, and through second reminiscence, mind you - in TSATS. It's also the reason TSATS feels kinda off to me, ig - the fact that some parts actually misalign with the established canon events, or appear like a patch to cover a hole in the piece of fabric. And some others just straight up fall into the what-the-f-was-in-your-mind-rick category. I doubt it was even Rick's initial plan to come up with TSATS in the first place.
However, it's also worth acknowledging that, whilst it would certainly help, Rick hardly has the capacity to fully-build another 5-book romance for Solangelo. That's as far as it can go (I usually think this to placate myself at the thought of the ship being undeveloped). Nico is not the franchise's protagonist (more like deuteragonist I guess), no matter how far this story goes and how widely loved he is, let alone Will.
On to the advice part.
Please keep in mind that I am, in no way, a professional or good writer, nor do I study sexual orientation and/or identity theory (I barely know the flags). I've also grown up and received education in an Estern (somewhat conserative?) country, so please take whatever I say with a grant of salt.
Now. When it comes to "make it seem more a part of the story", I... actually don't know how to say this...
Just look at the all the BL mangas (Japanese comics) and danmeis (Chinese BL literature) and BL manhwas (Korean comics). I have been reading BoyLove longggg before I even came to PJO, you know? The Eastern fandoms have surprisingly extensive LGBT content for a conservative culture, anw they have been telling and/or drawing stotries upon stories about same-sex couples since the dawn of internet. They don't even need to try. They have the image of a love, a story in their mind and just... go along with it.
You don't make it a part of the story. The story is either about it (much or little), or just nothing at all.
I'm saying making a story about it - rather than trying to incorporate it into the story. Give it background and enough development, it'd progress itself. You don't give it anything, of course it'd feel flat. This goes with any type of romance, not just LGBTQ+.
The problem with Solangelo itself, imo, is not the nature of their relationship (tho I do admit somtimes Rick makes me go wtf), but rather how they're portrayed. And furthermore, said portray in proportion to people's expectation. Solangelo, by all means, is a side-story at best (unless Rick manages to come up with a trilogy about their journey from start to finish idk 🤷‍♀️). People like it, so they tend to expect more from it, but the author's just a human.
I think this is everything... My thoughts are kinda in a jumble as I'm writing this, so feel free to ask if something doesn't make sense... This is also just my personal view lol don't take it too seriously if it differs from yours too much.
Lastly, I know my advice would probably not do much, however I hope for you to find your way to tell your stories the best you can!

HEADCANONS PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
considering you didn't specify, I might just talk about my mainies! That being. way too much 34, more than a sane person should think about them, then some Mario, Meggy and Saiko, though not a lot, I'm really living up to my username oops
first of all, even though I'm not like, a shipper of mar34 (like what I stated before about ages being Weird and the fact that only PV managed to break my aroace Mario hcs and nobody else) I really like thinking of them in the Sun-Earth-Moon way
Sun Mario, Earth 4 and Moon 3
Sun Mario because he's the center of it all in the end, the world we know here wouldn't exist without him, just like if the Sun dies, we lose the world as we know it. Although he isn't exactly a leader in that way I think it still fits him well enough
I went on hard about Earth 4 and Moon 3 before but the way they connect that way- but the way how Moon and Earth are built of similar material, the same way how these 2 idiots are a lot more similar than they realise, even if the looks can be deceiving
also how neither would be the same without the other but especially 3
the way how our Moon even came to existence has angst potentials with the 2 just- ough
also the moon phases feeling like 3's stupid emotions in a way
like the tides, their relationship isn't exactly the most calm thing either
So you uh. see what I mean? Paragraphs for a headcanon
anyways, a short one, I like 4 just Saying Things, like he won't say super insane stuff but he'll say kinda gay things and other stuff without fully thinking about it. It doesn't happen all the time but it does when he panicks or doesn't think about it.
I also really like both 4 and 3 being not only self centered, but also cringe. That's pretty much canon. Even their classic versions were both cringe- the self centered part I don't remember right now. But genuinely, this is why I think it's funny when people hate them for being cringe, which, okay, whatever, but for BECOMING cringe, when they've always been. And I think they do worse things. In that one episode, I think it was the SMG4 are you okay? where they were playing dolls? I think they would do that more regularly than we're shown. It would definitely get chaotic and kinda gay honestly. Not because of the playing part but because they'd many times just make their dolls kiss or some shit like that and then like immediately stop
3 also has the vibe of like- If it sucks hit da bricks, except there's too many exceptions that stops him in that, maybe even too much to consider it fully- like money, when he's in a tight, perhaps trapped situation- or sometimes when it's about 4. He isn't always super lenient with him but in the end he always helps when 4 asks and he's not proud of himself for it. 4 has similar feelings in that regard, although he's a tinge bit more willing to help 3 when he needs to, referring to inspection for example where he only questioned 3 once really
bi 4 and pan 3 (with male pref) a classic but a classic for a good reason. Cuz it fits
I think they can. both wear heels but 4 never really finds the occasion to wear them and 3 just prefers platforms most of the time. Though neither would wear actually high heels, 3 doesn't even like thinking about it, 4 does but he's like, scared of it. 3 catching him watch videos of people people walking in high heels with an upset expression
that reminds me, 4's emotions. He expresses short term stuff really well. Cries easily. An emotional man in general. But if he gets like, Big Trauma moments, man bottles up. He might cry about it for like the first few days but it kinda stops helping him so just. doesn't bother. He hides it well, maybe a bit too well. Forcing himself to rest when he needs to, probably with ASMR in his ears so he has something to focus on instead of, Idk, the time when his biggest flaw almost got him and his guardian partner killed! It helps in the moment so that he can sleep. He will have nightmares sometimes but doesn't like to mention it to the others. On especially bad days though, he stays in bed a lot longer. But he never really lets it go too far, considering a certain person dressed in purple will bust his door down with his usual coffee, questioning if he's doing good in a not so nice tone. While it's comforting that 3 cares, it's not fun to be flipped out of bed by him so on days like that he reminds himself to get out or 3 will make him fly.
On that regard, 3 likes to usually check the secret cam in 4's room at times like these. As in each time something out of the ordinary happens. 4 thinks it's the cosmic link, which is only the weaker part of the equation. Like yes, 3 gets a feeling but like, 4 is sad a lot over the dumbest of things and the link isn't good at showing if it's the Chronic Sad coming out or if it's 4 crying at a random Dharmann video.
3 is, by nature, a really touchy person. However, the way his life went, he doesn't show it a lot. He gets really touchy with 4 because he's the first person he actually go comfortable with. He starts to mind it less from the crew in general though, BUT it takes a long time for him to admit that to them directly. They OBVIOUSLY know at that point.
Honestly, 3 in general has a hard time admitting things, sometimes even to himself ("me and 4 hugged in the igloo" HUGGED???? HUGGGED???? HUGGED???? sure BUDDY) and somehow only manages to confess things at his breaking points. Telling 4 how much he cares while drowning in goop, straight up calling himself 4's friend while dangling to his death, reaching his breaking point about his cafe not doing well ONLY in Trash Friends, you'll note he doesn't mention to anyone that he isn't doing well until then. I think he actually partly started writing in his notebook to try and admit things to himself. Besides obviously the emotional value of putting down your feelings on paper, I think it did help him. But not enough. At least he didn't need to be dangling at a cliff to admit that his cafe is not doing well. I also think he has a very similar relationship with his romantic feelings which I'm pretty sure he's aware of at this point.
my biggest hc is probably the love-hate at first sight, especially on 3's side. Like destined rivals in love or whatever. They don't actually realise it though. 4 gradually realises it over Perfect, and slowly gets comfortable to the idea but then catches himself- like genuinely I think he only calls 3 rizzless or insults him in that regard whenever he has the chance, especially with his thoughts in the Elevator ep, is BECAUSE he thinks 3 is hot and I think if someone asked him if he thinks 3 is hot, he would not give you a straight answer, in both ways. He would start bringing up excuses and sound really stupid. However if it's 3 asking 4 just rolls his eyes, reminds himself that 3 may but hot but he doesn't want to inflate his ego further.
They both have self worth issues tho. canon
3 has a problem with committing to things. Not just as in not doing them but doing them so actively it feels unhealthy and then never doing it ever again. For this reason, his streaming schedule is also really bad, catching him streaming is hard. Also gets the same way about spying on 4, which we've seen him do 2 times at this point.
I will only say this in short and will not elaborate so I don't have to put a community label on this thing. Power bottom 4
both 3 and 4 are rizzless, but 4 is way worse. Bad at flirting when he does it on purpose. The closest he comes to flirting is flustering 3 by being a bit too sincere about how important 3 is to him
4 really really likes to consider 3 his partner. Not even in the romantic manner but just like, his right hand man. Also the reason I think he made 3 his cohost in the News ep. Also why 3 is somehow the first person he will ask for help when something happens.
4 has sensitive skin in general. These 2 will cuddle and 3 can just. smell the typical sensitive neutral shower gel smell on 4 after he showers. Perhaps grows attached to it because him. He hates that about himself, thinking he's softie little bitch for doing that. Takes a long time tellling 4 and he wouldn't even have done if it wasn't for 4 asking what's up and even than, 3 is really rude about the way he tells him, calls 4 stupid and the smell of him meaningless. Which hurts 4 to hear but he would know better at that point. Would definitely immediately tease him about it and get decked.
4 is very careful when it comes to 3 but still fucks up. He goes from barely thinking about what he's saying to I Have To Google How To Apologise To Not Fuck This Up. But when he gets it right, he's careful, he's gentle, he figures out the right things to say to get to 3. Later on would probably play mindgames with him to get him to say how he feels if he's really refusing.
They're both night owls. Another reason why leading the cafe is hard for 3. Always looking groggy and lowkey pissed, people are usually more polite for this reason in the mornings when he has costumers, nobody wanting to piss 3 off too much, considering they're in a place with a fuck ton of explosives.
3 is the type of the wiki surf, he likes to read about random stuff. Has some seemingly useless knowledge which others get surprised at when they get to know.
neither really likes horror movies, however 4 is more likely to choose one for a movie night with 3 in hopes that they can be close and intimate but then they're just both scared and there's nothing intimate about it, they're both losers. They would also often argue about what movie to watch, wasting a lot of time with it as well.
3 is a theatre kid. canon. Also gets pissy about shittily made movies. Comments on technical things mercilessly. 4 likes to listen to him rant though.
4 is stupid in the kind of oblivious way. not about everything. basically canon. example for the first: him asking where he is when he's at the obstacle course with 3 in Forced Hold Hands, 3 doesn't. 4 is slow to catch onto things. However he will immediately notice when 3 is being soft. And teases him, obviously. Not in the "I want to humilliate him" way but in the "Aww he cares about me and I'm happy about it but I can't be mature about it because I have my own demons to fight"
4 bad posture. should be canon. we should be hearing him whine about back pain. then getting called old for it.
3 getting pain in his legs from moving around too much in the cafe. Like. it's a LOT more active and also something you need to standing up, while caring for memes and being a streamer isn't.
both 3 and 4 are ambiverts where they like to talk to people and being social but once their social battery runs out it becomes Pretty Hard. 4 gets more uninterested and silent while 3 just leaves like a brooding lone wolf.
Anyways, I should probably talk about other characters as well, huh?
Mario, he's.... so........... I love his "many" intellence 0 wisdom. Or at least very little. He's the type to scream and cheer when the DVD logo hits the corner perfectly. He has a bit of a shipper brain.......... he def also played dolls with 4 before. His wavering mental state which can easily change by circumstances + his will and determination basically endless make him great opponent.
hates cardio. canon
therapy Mario..... not even just 3 or 4 but literally the whole gang. If it appeared more, I think he would often be the guy to listen to his friends' concerns and fears.
great sense of smell and hearing but it can easily be overwritten by desires. For example, his desire of tasty tasty spaghetti eating making him not notice he ate trash in Trash Friends. Only doesn't bring up the igloo incident to others because the last time he brought it up off screen it didn't end well. He can also be nice sometimes, as a treat.
uuuuh Meggy! I like the idea of her being sort of the Prepared friend, as I wrote her in Sever the Ties. She just has Things when you need them, especially if it has to do with sports or kitchen accidents. She is very similar to 3 in that if something turns into a competition, they both have their common sense overwritten. 4 is also like this. Meggy is realy the only one who doesn't cause this, the other 2 do it all the time. She definitely has anger issues and isn't the best in general with handling such intense emotions. She's a lot more chill about love because she's mostly good with relationships. She will get nervous about dates and stuff, and becoming way too serious about which might scare away people who don't get her. Her determination in general can be a turn off for a lot of people (then there's.... certain people..... who admire her for it.... man I sure wonder who I'm talking about)
anyways, another random- Saiko. aro, sorry I just. I can't see her any other way. Loves her friends but just can't get down with love at all.
Not really the best with her emotions. Although not as bad as 3, she can still get rather aggressive. She's also the person in the crew who would complain in a restaurant. Probably doesn't have the best hearing considering the fact that not only is she in a band but it also isn't the calmest of music that they're playing. She also sometimes still misses having a chaotic life. I'm sad it hadn't been brought up since her last major appearance
can't really think of anything else right now, my mind became rather empty after all my rambling about 34 oops-

Idk if it’s the same for anyone else but I personally haven’t sent asks for stalker because I thought you would be getting loads of them! I’d love to see more if anything comes to mind, the first idea that came to me is that maybe someone else starts stalking Soap?
Haha, no not really! I got quite a few today, but for the most part, I don't really get asks for it as much! If I'm slow to posting something, it's usually because I haven't gotten a ton of requests for it!
--
Ghost wasn't sure why he'd let Soap drag him to this. He wanted to make Johnny happy and part of that was meeting his friends, fully, he knew that. But... fuck, Ghost hated meeting new people.
Technically, the only new people he'd be meeting was Gaz and Alex, but... two was more than he'd like to be meeting that day. One was more than he'd like to be meeting.
Whatever, it was important to Soap and... so Ghost went. It was at Alex's house, which was decent considering his age, but it was apparently a family house, so not surprising. He'd inherited it after the death of both of his parents, according to Soap.
Ghost had decided to opt for a half facemask that Soap had gifted him, which also had a skull print on it. Soap seemed to have picked up on that little hyperfixation of his, because almost everything Soap had ever gotten him had something to do with skulls. Not that Ghost was complaining, since he loved skull stuff.
Ghost ran a hand down his face as they arrived. Soap had dragged them to a grocery store and had them pick up a bottle of wine to bring as a gift for Alex and Gaz. "They've only been together for two months," Soap mumbled as he knocked. "But we don't bring it up."
"Okay?" Ghost didn't care. He was not judging someone for going for it. "Who proposed?"
"Alex." Soap nodded a bit before smiling as the door was answered by Gaz, who smiled brightly in return. "Gaz!"
Gaz hugged him and nodded a little to Ghost, though Ghost definitely picked up on the glance Gaz gave him. Ghost didn't like it. It was a "I know what you are" glance. Ghost felt picked open, but Rodolfo and Soap had both reassured Ghost that Gaz was not a threat. Gaz was easily influenced, apparently, and Rodolfo had managed to tell him that Ghost was a good guy.
Ghost wasn't sure he believed that Gaz accepted that, but he was sure Rudy would keep Gaz from trying to tell Soap to leave. Rodolfo would have to or Ghost would just simply call the police and inform them that he knew where Alejandro Vargas was.
"It's nice to meet you." Gaz nodded to Ghost when he and Soap finally broke apart and offered a hand.
Ghost tensed but accepted the handshake and nodded. "You too." He mumbled.
Soap relaxed a little beside him and Ghost couldn't help but feel bad. He knew Soap wanted this to go well so desperately. "What did Alex cook? It smells good."
"He roasted a chicken." Gaz smiled and let them in. "How are both of you?"
Ghost let Soap answer, just kind of trailing behind him to the table, where a man, he assumed Alex, was setting the table. Ghost kind of cringed at still being the tallest in the room, though it did allow him to intimidate. Being huge was a double edged blade. On the one hand, he could use it to intimidate and scare people. On the other hand, he stuck out like a sore thumb when he was trying to blend in.
Ghost pulled out Soap's chair like a proper gentleman and then sat down himself, unsure if he should offer help to Alex. Though, from the looks of it, Alex didn't have much else to do.
Gaz thanked Soap for the bottle of wine and left to get glasses. "So, have you made any progress in planning the wedding? That's next month, right?"
"Alex changed his mind and he wants like a ceremony and stuff, so... no, it's going to be the end of this year." Gaz shrugged, setting down the glasses when he came back.
Alex moved over and kissed his temple. "I was stupid for insisting on an elopement to begin with."
Gaz laughed, smiling. "Thank you. Anyway, we're looking at venues this week. Well, I am. I thought maybe you, Rudy, and I could make a day of it?"
Soap glanced at Ghost, who shrugged. Rodolfo would be there and Ghost knew better than to limit Soap's contact with friends. That always led to the downfall. He'd limit his friends and then Soap would feel controlled and start to buck and try to get away and slowly hate Ghost. No, Ghost knew better.
Soap smiled and turned back to Gaz. "I'd love to! When?"
"Friday." Gaz had definitely picked up the little interaction between them and he was frowning deeply, though Alex seemed to distract him with some plates. Gaz quickly set to putting them around the table, shortly before the doorbell was ringing.
"I got it." Alex murmured, kissing Gaz's temple again. Ghost had to admit, they were kind of a sweet couple. You'd never guess they'd only been together two months before getting engaged.
Gaz smiled and nodded, sitting down, as Alex let to go answer the door. Ghost frowned deeply when he heard Alex say hello, only to be answered with a "hey, man" from a voice he recognized immediately as Alejandro's.
Rodolfo had let him out? Why? Ghost hadn't even tried to convince him to let him out, yet. Honestly, he wasn't even planning on it. He doubted Rodolfo would even be convinced but... here he was. Ghost looked behind him to see that Rodolfo was in fact with Alejandro, holding onto his arm. He'd never seen so much emotion on Rodolfo's face. It looked almost natural.
"We were all worried about you." Alex told Alejandro, who just shrugged.
"I was... making some very stupid decisions but I'm back now." Alejandro smiled and came in when Alex let them in, guiding Rodolfo with him.
Rodolfo was practically beaming as he followed Alejandro in, looking up at him with adoration in his eyes. Ghost decided that was almost more uncomfortable than the lack of emotion that was usually there. It was almost uncanny. Funny. Rodolfo looked off when he was most natural.
Alex shrugged. "Well, we're glad you're back." He smiled and pat Alejandro's shoulder.
"We are." Rodolfo confirmed and Ghost realized, when his smile widened and his blush deepened as Alejandro kissed his cheek, that Rodolfo wasn't faking it.
What. the. fuck.
Alejandro tugged him to the table and Rodolfo seemed to gladly follow, smiling in greeting to everyone else. "Hey." He nodded to Soap, who had been watching them enter. He frowned when he saw Alejandro.
"Hello." Soap nodded. "Alejandro... where the fuck have you been??"
Alejandro winced. "I'd rather not talk about it. It's... uncomfortable."
Rodolfo nodded in agreement, avoiding Ghost's eyes. Ghost frowned a little but nudged Soap. "Let's not push, okay?" He murmured.
Soap frowned and looked at Ghost before nodding a little. "Alright."
Rodolfo relaxed and mouthed "thank you" to Ghost, who just shrugged. Favor for favors. He wanted to stay on Rodolfo's good side.
Finally, Alex sat down and they started to eat. Ghost didn't like having to pull his mask down for it, but no one commented or even really acknowledged it, so eventually he forgot about it.
He listened to the conversation everyone else was having but mostly drowned it out, not really caring if he was honest. Weddings weren't his thing, though he had no doubt Soap would get him dressed up and drag him out to Alex and Gaz's. He would gladly go, to support Soap, though.
Eventually, Soap started to ask Alejandro and Rodolfo questions. They were slightly prodding, just asking why Rodolfo hadn't told them the moment he found Alejandro, if Alejandro was okay, stuff like that.
Eventually, Alejandro just gave in. "I went on a bender." He admitted.
Ghost almost laughed. Even Rodolfo looked at him, shocked. That was clearly not the story they agreed on. But... Ghost had to hand it to him. It was just uncomfortable enough that no one would question the legitimacy of it. Why would you lie about something like that?
Soap immediately blushed bright red, taking Ghost's hand and squeezing it kind of hard. Not enough to hurt but Ghost knew he was deeply embarrassed. "Oh. I'm sorry."
"No, it's alright. It was a short bender but... I landed myself in the hospital and didn't have any of my money or cards or anything to get myself home. Rodolfo found me around last week and he wanted to tell you guys immediately but... I was too embarrassed. I didn't want anyone to know what had happened." Alejandro cringed and rubbed the back of his neck.
Alex winced. "Yeah, I get that feeling. High school was fucked up." He and Alejandro fist bumped. Ghost decided to keep his comments about that to himself.
Honestly if Ghost had his way, he'd never think of high school again.
Alejandro then nodded and continued. "So that's why I was gone and why I've been so secretive about it."
Rodolfo to his credit played his part very well and only looked at Alejandro with silent sympathy. Ghost turned and looked at Soap with amusement but didn't say anything about it.
After a moment of brief awkward silence, they decided to find a different topic of conversation and Alejandro looked relieved.
Ghost would have to ask Alejandro later how he managed to come up with such a story as he wasn't even entirely sure Alejandro drank alcohol. Though from the way everyone accepted it, there must be some history there. But that was honestly none of Ghost's business.
Alejandro would tell him if he felt like it.
Soap seemed to go quiet for the rest of the conversation. Which Ghost found equally amusing if he was honest. He loved Johnny and one of the things that drew him to Johnny was his impulsiveness and his inability to think before he opened his mouth, but that was bound to get them in trouble and look where they were.
So Ghost just squeezed Soap's hand under the table and chuckled softly, knowing that no one but Soap could hear.
After a brief moment of awkward silence, Soap spoke up to compliment Alex on the chicken and asked him where he got the recipe. Alex seemed flattered and responded that it was a family recipe. To which Gaz seemed to get quiet and paid a lot more attention to his plate. From the looks Soap and Rudy shared, Ghost inferred that this was probably a sore subject for Gaz.
Alex could be seen moving his arm under the table, assumingly to take Gaz's hand and leaned over to murmur something in his ear that no one else could hear.
Gaz smiled weakly before turning to the rest of the group. "Technically I'm not even supposed to be eating it."
Alex winced slightly and at everyone's questioning glances. "My mom hasn't come around to the idea of us being married. It's tradition that when the son's in my family get engaged that my mom will tell the fiancé all their favorite family recipes. But my mother refuses..."
Gaz laughed and shook his head. "Apparently that only applies to daughter in laws." Under his breath, he continued. "White daughter-in laws."
Alex winced pretty hard at that, but his lack of denial spoke more than his words ever could.
Ghost decided to make probably an ill timed joke, but what could he say he was awkward anyway and proceeded to say. "Well Johnny never has to worry about that, both of my parents are dead." To which Rodolfo and Gaz laughed a little too loud. Alejandro and Alex looked at them both with concern.
Gaz decided to explain first. "My parents gave me up when I was a baby so I never met them and my foster parents when they got me were already tired of fostering so when I turned 18, I went to college and never looked back."
Rodolfo nodded in agreement and mumbled. "I went into that creep's basement with an alive family and came out with two dead parents and siblings who refuse to speak to me."
Gaz seemed to turn bright red at that before weakly mumbling. "Dead parents gang." Ghost laughed a little to hard at. He had to admit, he kinda liked Gaz.
Soap awkwardly spoke up. "Well my parents are also dead but... I'm a little concerned for you three now."
Alejandro shrugged. "My parents are both alive. I have a pretty good relationship with them."
Alex said. "Do you though? They didn't notice you were gone for three weeks."
Gaz lightly wacked him across the arm. "Alex!"
But Alejandro only laughed and just shrugged. "Yeah, I guess." Clearly, he wasn't too bothered by the statement.
Ghost had had a lot of experience watching people. Hell, that's how he got in his current relationship by watching Soap. Through this experience, he picked up natureal reactions people had to things.
For instance, when someone said something insensitive the usual reaction is to laugh it off, maybe apologize, or maybe just go haha and move on. However, Alex did none of those things. Instead, Alex just smiled, nodded at Alejandro and turned back to the table.
This wasn't empirical evidence that something was wrong with Alex. But when Alex caught Ghost's eyes, Ghost puffed up a little. He broadened himself, tried to make himself look bigger.
And Alex just looked at Ghost and smiled.
-
Soap frowned when he got a text message on his phone. It wasn't from a number he recognized, though Soap had to admit he wouldn't have recognized it regardless. He had had the same cell phone number since he was 16 years old and if someone tried to read it out loud to him, he'd probably stare at them blankly and just go "what's that?"
Hi! You don't know me, but we share a math class and I think you're cute. -Bug
Soap flushed dark, frowning. Oh. I'm sorry, I have a boyfriend.
That's alright. -Bug
Soap raised an eyebrow. Was he accepting rejection? Or was he going "I don't care that you have a boyfriend"? We can be friends, though. Why did Soap send that?? Ghost was going to kill him.
Really? Awesome! -Bug
Soap smiled a little. Just friends, though.
That's alright. -Bug
Do you like movies? -Bug
I do, why?
Trying to make small talk -Bug
Soap smiled. He was already picking up awkward vibes from him. Probably learned how to pick that stuff up from Ghost. Where do you sit in math?
Oh, in the back. I don't like being seen -Bug
You sound like my boyfriend
Simon Riley, right? -Bug
Funnily enough, Soap didn't actually know Ghost's full name. Yeah, I think so.
You think so? -Bug
I know so. Soap's face flamed bright red. Fuck, it was text. He had the opportunity to read over them before he sent them, yet his dumbass just types and hits go. Fucking idiot.
Right. -Bug
I do! Soap was going to die. He was a moron! Anyway, do you like movies?
Sometimes. Not too many of them. -Bug
Do you like movie theatres?
Oh, no. Definitely not. -Bug
Soap frowned a little. Why?
Too loud. But, I like watching them at home. -Bug
Soap shrugged. Makes sense. Rodolfo was the exact same way. Honestly, he'd stayed away from move theatres for nearly three years due to one of his friends not liking them. He didn't miss them, too much. He'd rather spend the 20 dollars on the actual movie.
Hey can I ask a question? -Bug
Sure what is it?
When are you going to break up with that boyfriend? -Bug

the older MW games really seem like a 'Bad Ending' style whereas the new one seems like 'Have a good ending'
Very much agree with this!
You learn like extremely quickly when playing the original trilogy that the characters you play as, are not safe. They make it clear from literally the second (third if FNG counts as a mission I can't remember) mission in the game that they are not afraid to kill any characters.
Two playable character die in the first game (to be fair one of them you "play" as for one mission and you really don't do much but still). Outside of that, they introduce you to several side characters who you grow to like only to watch them be killed as well. Griggs and Gaz's deaths happen moments apart from one another as well and there is nothing you can do about it as the player.
And the games are very harsh with the characters that they kill. They don't shy away from showing you how just like that, a character is dead. Gaz, Griggs, and Ghost all die within a few seconds. Their deaths are quick.
I believe the only two playable characters in the entire game who we know for sure live are Ramirez and Frost (I assume Price lived, but its left pretty vague considering all of his injuries).
At the end of Modern Warfare 2, we as the player had witnessed at least 6 main character deaths with 3 of those being characters we played as. Compare to the current MW2 where we've lost no main characters.
Its actually one of the reasons that I've been so surprised with how nervous people seem to be about MW3?? Like so many people are like "they're gonna kill Ghost and Gaz and Soap again!!" And like, while I do think its possible a character will die (though if what was said about mw3 supposed to be a dlc thats just getting extended then I actually think we're probably pretty safe. Idk I just feel its unlikely that they would have killed a character off in what was meant to be a dlc) I seriously doubt it will be several of them at once.
I actually think the newer games have a problem of NOT killing characters. In my opinion, the older games killed too many people (after Roach died in MW2 I feel like most of the deaths were expected), versus the newer games that seem afraid to kill anyone. As much as I hate to say it, Alex should be dead right now (please don't hate me guys I hate to say it but come on).
They've backed themselves into a corner where they've backtracked on a death already and not killed anyone, so when it comes time for a character to actually die (my bets on Soap, soz) a lot of people are going to struggle with believing if its true or not.
I think that with what they've done so far, it wouldn't hurt them to just not kill anyone off. Their fans wouldn't be mad so long as the story is satisfying. That being said, the two new games have (in my opinion) not been as good at building a story as the og trilogy. Like we're just now getting introduced to Makarov, and I do not trust that they won't try to rush the entire Makarov storyline into just one game. Like the OG games, the Makarov story should span two games in my opinion. He is THE villain of the COD MW games with his claws going all the way back into even the first game. So the fact that they didn't even really seem to start setting him up until MW2 concerns me a bit.
Now I could be wrong, they could surprise me. This was very ranty, and I apologize for that but yeah, I fully agree the newer games definitely seem to be more geared toward a "happy ending" style versus the older games which I would describe as a "bitter ending" (because while we won, we lost everyone along the way so was it really a victory?).

Oh babes I am right there with you panicking about season 3. The way I personally read that article with Taika wasn’t that he was saying he wouldn’t do a season 3, just that he’s not convinced it’ll happen but didn’t want to outright say it so instead focused on how great the story was as is…anyways I’m always afraid :)
oh babe For Sure lol like i'm actually a VERY NERVOUS NELLIE :))). there are just so many factors that are making me ~*~Worried~*~
...AND WHILE I TRY NOT TO FIXATE ON THEM, I SIMPLY NEED TO SCREAM???
The first and foremost being that one article/interview/whatever the fuck it was where a higherup from Max was like "Yeaahhhh we can't really say anything definitive at this point because we have to see how it performs and if it's worth renewing." And that just dropped my stomach so so hard because like...what do you fucking MEAN if it's "worth" renewing. Why WOULDN'T it be worth renewing. It's literally the last fucking season lmao WHY WOULDN'T YOU JUST SEE IT THROUGH AND ALLOW THE STORY TO PROPERLY CONCLUDE AND SUBSEQUENTLY ATTRACT ALL THE PEOPLE WHO LOVE SEEING FINISHED, SECURE STORIES??? ((And yes yes, again, probably something that was missing context, but that wording makes me Nauseous lmao c:))
just...The Response (derogatory). it could just seem way louder/bigger than it actually is because it has sunk its tendrils into every little corner, but it makes me worried that the cast/crew are going to feel dejected and won't want to proceed. and i only say that because david recently did an interview, and said something along the lines of "i'll want to continue if it keeps feeling fun." and i'm like...wHAT IF THIS MAKES IT STOP FEELING FUN??? i just really REALLY hope they're all seeing how much love and appreciation there is, as opposed to all of the vitriol.
Max slicing the budget so so hard for season 2. Forty percent man. Forty FUCKING percent. It just makes me so worried about what they consider profitable, what they consider ""WORTHY."" I'd like to think and HOPE that them putting so much effort into marketing and now merch/icons/etc is a good sign. But I still fret over the stereotypical studio "we care more about profits than the art/story."
And also just the general state of streaming. The way SO many stories aren't able to be fully told anymore. The way so many shows get cut after their first or second seasons. The way people can't even really get into new shows because they EXPECT a random cancellation. Like, it sickens me lmao. TV shows used to have SO many fucking seasons, and used to have seasons RICH with episodes. And now it's like...You get 8-10 episodes and now we're cancelling lol get fucked <3
I guess I'm just predominantly nervous because I'm not sure what makes us "worth it" to Max. One would think being declared one of their flagships would, and also being a large LGBT show would. Buuuuuut idk. I just have ~*~distrust and anxiety~*~

okay who the hell's tess, bill and frank in the tlou au then .... and wtf happens with jet. in fact what happens with all the wildcats??
okay as someone who hasn't played any video games in a hot minute and therefore has only watched the series, STAY WITH ME AS IM GONNA BE MISSING SHIT WHILE ALSO ADDING SHIT OH MY GOD- (i am just fully aware in the second game ellie is w someone called dina and they have like a fucking kid with them thats all i know about dina but yeah endgame is all that matters to me when talking about madlyn)
bill and frank im putting as seb and carlos but grown up because KFJDSHKFDSJH <3 seblos are all that matter ur honor. more specifically seb as frank and bill as carlos ofc ofc. although carlos isn't as much of the violent type, i can see him doing it all for seb yk? anyways galaxy if ur fucking reading this dont you DARE write me their whole plot in this au because i will start crying on command.
i feel like jet kinda tags along and we're just gonna have him as a sibling-like bond with maddie considering ellie's mother dies right after her birth. where she goes, he goes. he's really protective over her considering he's younger, but he tells dewey and terri when first meeting them both "where she goes. i go."
tess i have mixed thoughts about. im aware from watching people react to season one that a romance wasn't like fully set up between her and joel in game but it's definitely like. made possible yk and then like kinda looked into further in the show? idk. so what im gonna do is completely fucking IGNORE that romance plot. yeah. PLATONICISM !!! WOOO !!! let's put it as miss jenn for the ANGST >:) (im gonna regret this so SO much if galaxy reads this ffs)
idk like in the game if we see marlene's kid or anything BUT im gonna assume we dont so for ricky and gina im thinking like. civilians of the safe zone theyre in w joel's brother? forgot the name haven't watched the show since it aired because it fucking hurt the shit out of me w the finale.
MAZZY is joel's/dewey's brother btw !! i don't make the rules im right. i know that then doesn't make jennzzara canon, that is unless we just don't kill jenn off which is totally up to yall atp i mean its an au none of this follows exactly FDKSJHFDS
anyways uhm. OH IDK WHAT TO DO FOR THOSE TWO BROTHERS. THE ONES THAT YOU KNOW... I REALLY LOVED THEM UGH BUT IDK WHAT TO DO FOR THEM SOMEONE ELSE GIVE THE WILDCATS TRAUMA FOR THOSE TWO KFKJDSH

I was expecting them to paint Raziel and her desire to bring Lucifer back as fully bad, as a foil to Magus and to have Sandalphon tell her to let him rest for good, so I was actually surprised when in the end they told her to keep looking for ways to bring him back, just without risking other people's lives. So the hope does live on
But yeah... It's a bit......
I definitely saw people mention the "the set up seems to be that Raziel wants to bring Lucifer back and Sandalphon is going to have to oppose to it no matter what" so i definitely expected that a little..... but in the end the truth is a bit in the middle, at least. The hope to get Lucifer back is still there, even if it just means "but not in this particular instance".
which is nice, i do appreciate that the door is opened for it, and even Magus is offered a possible entry into our lives and all of that.
still...... damn.
Like, it's a great set up!!! it really is!!! i'm glad it exists and it means that, once we actually get Lucifer back, it's great!!
but it just.... I think ever since Created by The Stars, Loved by the Skies, it's the kind of bait we've been having. Look at playable Lucifer! look at how Primals can come back! Look at Cosmos' return from her connection with a primal beast you didn't even know she had a connection with! Look at Lucifer's 6* uncap talking about how he's pulled more and more into our world! look at Sandalphon's new FE talking about how he yearns for him!
..... and then, it's just "and now you wait", again and again.
the day Lucifer comes back, i will look back on it all as nice set up, because narratively, it holds up.
but living through the wait is starting to be agonizing and especially with this amount of bait to prepare it. And god knows how long they will actively pull this trick on us, considering that Sandalphon being the Widower:tm: while also being available for self ship and for others ships possibly is probably also something they have struggle getting out of. Esp with, say, Sandalphon joining Relink probably meaning that they will keep Sandalphon as the Widow who lives to stop the enemy who wants to defy the wishes of his late beloved.
I'd be better off if they didn't really push it this much forward.
and yeah it's like, not bad, as a set up, it's fantastic, when we get there, this will be nice and all.
but as it is right now it's another one of those "nono trust the plan we're getting there" and it gets a bit.....
especially like, if you know me, i originally didn't want Lucifer to come back to life. I thought his death was extremely impactful and it probably was best to leave it at that, in its own way.
It's just that all those set up with the years made me hope for this what if more and more. So this feels a bit painful still.
Sighs.
but the event was fantastic, for real!!! i get it also seeing the full picture that bringing Lucifer back now would have probably disturbed the balance of the event, which is extremely tight and well written and everything that's set up is either properly closed upon, or given an open path to take later. It was a great event, it's really no shade on the event and even the decision to not go through with the Lucifer thing.
it's just that as long as it keeps being the way they talk about Lucifer, it's going to hurt for a while.
Mixed feelings in that sense, i adored the event and i'm glad with what we got. I'm just feeling a little bitter, even though by the end i get it and i'm content. idk how to explain it like, my bitterness does nothing to distract me from how strong this event was and how it made me feel good, yaknow what i mean?
difficult emotions to word out but yeah.. yeah.

OK so having slept after finishing the last graduate with no idea how the golden enclaves starts (spoilers for the first/speculation about the latter):
I can see three general possible ways things might go from here.
One, the most straightforward narratively from the way TLG ended: El gets shoved through the portal, Orion gets shut into a school that's about to eat itself, Orion gets to have his epic ultra boss fight until he wins or gets eaten or dies in the void or goes mad in the void, we'll never find out which. Presumably El will have a lot of distress over this.
Downsides: does not offer clear direction for what actually happens in the entire final 1/3 of the trilogy (that's more the sort of thing you have at the end of a story), doesn't really explain El's mum's warning, if we can trust El that her mum wouldn't give that warning for avoiding pain alone. (Unless El is pregnant and the warning related to that. But damn, El's mum warning her about getting pregnant while in the Scholomance would have some really weird implications for their relationship. It's not unusual for a woman who got pregnant young to not want her daughter to do the same, but...I have trouble seeing El's mum specifically addressing that concern in that way. Especially since it's not like Orion was the only boy in school. Except maybe if there's something weird about the pregnancy due to the circumstances, but I'm hoping we're not going in a magical/cursed/supernaturally very scary pregnancy direction.)
Two, El finds a way to either keep herself from getting thrown out of the portal -- finding something to literally or magically grab onto -- or somehow manages to get back in right after. The door closes, and they're both trapped in the void with a bunch of mals. In an exploding school. I actually really like this idea? It might get very surreal for a bit. But it also might mean that there was a reason the school was rewarding El for learning so much about the golden sutras while still in school -- and the school was pushing her to do that, that double independent study -- when El was fully aware that the sensible thing to do was to focus on survival for now and the sutras after graduation.
Especially since, while the phase spell was used near the end of A Deadly Education to patch up the hole in the walls, as far as I can tell the sutras weren't even slightly used after New Year's. El used the Mandarin (I assume, for some reason it was all "Mandarin" and "Shanghaiese" in book 1 and then all of a sudden "Chinese" in book 2? Kind of hoping that's a different editions issue because why would you do that??? Like I can understand simplifying things, but pick one or the other and definitely don't go from the more subtle/nuanced approach to the dumbed down one, that's just wrong) that she was picking up mostly to speak with the freshmen more than she used the Sutras in the last half of the year. Including that plot hook where she was getting really excited about the most recent spell she was on and then we never found out what it was because then she had to hurry to breakfast and then that was it for classes for the rest of the year.
Anyways. Advantage: maybe use the sutras to build new enclave from the shattered remnants of the exploding school in the void? Without dying or getting eaten or going mad, somehow? It'd be weird but cool. Plus it provides direction for the book, and lets our fascinating couple be together. Although it would mean we don't get to meet El's Mum Higgins for much longer, which would be terrible. It would also explain the Word Of Mum since presumably getting caught in an exploding school full of mals that has been cut off from the real world and is floating in the void, is something a parent would consider a negative outcome for their child, and it only happens because El is emotionally attached to Orion. (Maybe. Or maybe she'd try to save him anyways, idk.)
Third option: El manages to yank Orion out. This has most of the disadvantages of option one (no direction for where to take book 3, kind of anticlimactic) plus doesn't even have Angst unless El does something Evil to do it and it fucks up their relationship, El's relationship with herself, and El's relationship with her mother all in one go. Like either pulling mana from Orion against his will, or maybe mind-controlling him (we know she has mind-control spells.) The part of my brain that loves feeling awful really likes this suggestion. I'm not sure where it would go from there though.
Part of me really, really wants to see El have a descent into honest to god evil at this point. I'm pretty sure the story isn't going that way, El's done such a great job of walking towards the light and resisting even the smallest step in the other direction. And I suspect thematically the book is supposed to be "fuck what people expect you to be, YOU get to decide that" which wouldn't really work if El goes evil after all.
Anyways: advantages: high angst, would explain mum's warning; disadvantages, do we actually want that much angst? also, where would the title fit in?
(I was going to bed when the title of the second book, which had seemed pretty straightforward throughout the whole thing (El is last graduate because she's going out last to save everyone and is also destroying the school, so no more graduates after her) really hit. El's the last graduate because she graduated and Orion didn't.) (Well. If option 1 plays out anyways.)
There are a couple questions that are very important here, namely, what the fuck is Orion thinking? And, what was El's mum thinking?
It's possible that Orion was thinking that he had to fight the mawmouth from hell to keep it from getting out, even though El didn't think that. Or that he thought there was some risk to El's plan and he wanted to make sure the mawmouth from hell didn't get out. We don't actually know what his perspective was here. I think it's somewhat more likely that Orion knew he could get out safely and chose to have his epic boss battle instead. It's more than adequately foreshadowed. We know Orion loves fighting mals, believes he's invincible, and has never once expressed the slightest interest in backing down from a challenge (and has generally been resistant to El trying to get him to back down.) El tends to see that as a martyr complex thing, but in the graduation hall she realizes it's not, he really does like fighting mals just that much. She also concluded he could learn to like other things as well, but she did figure out that yeah, he really does enjoy this stuff, a lot. Orion walking away from the biggest boss fight ever would be like an Olymplic athlete who's been training to be a swimmer or whatever from toddlerhood just...walking away right before the finals. Your life wouldn't make sense after that. Orion is not primarily motivated by protecting people (if he was, he'd be happy at the lack of mals in the first part of the year) he's directly motivated by the fights themselves. So it does not matter that he doesn't need to fight the mawmouth to protect anyone. Fighting the mawmouth is its own reward. (One worth presumably dying over.)
El's mum: I do not know, this really hasn't been answered yet. I'm inclined to trust El that the warning wouldn't be about pain alone, El's mum seems the type to encourage her child to make her own decisions unless there was an overwhelmingly important reason not to. Telling her child to not fall in love to avoid heartbreak is the exact opposite of what someone like El's mum would do. She's probably told a zillion grieving people that grief is love that has nowhere else to go (or whatever), that it's a healthy thing and part of being alive. There is no way she'd want El to be alone her senior year rather than close to Orion just because Orion wasn't going to make it, she's not that kind of person.
Whatever is going to happen, it's going to be worse than Orion dying/getting lost in the void or Orion being unable to forgive El for pulling him away from his big boss fight.
Or, it's not going to be about El and Orion's relationship at all. It might be that while the Scholomance thought what they were doing was right, that there will be Unintended Consequences to the world of them destroying the Scholomance and a metric shit ton of mals in the process.
And I just realized a fourth option. That in getting Orion out, El manages to also undo their hard work and let all the mals pour back out too.
But that doesn't make sense either. El's mum doesn't do the lesser evil. She wouldn't let Orion die to save other people's lives, and she wouldn't want El to do that either. So while I could see that happening as a plot point, I don't see that explaining El's mum's message. Dammit.
I think the message only makes sense if El's connection to Orion results in her doing something evil/going down the maleficer path, at least a little bit, or at least El's mother thinks she is likely to. Or maybe if there's some evil that isn't caused by a lesser good. But not if there's a greater evil caused by saving one person.
I don't know.
Or maybe El has fundamentally misunderstood her mother. That is definitely possible. The parent a child sees is not the whole adult, and realizing your parent isn't as perfect as you thought is a very common coming of age experience.
