Now that I'm thinking about it, here's a few reasons I can think of as to why we should have streaming service exclusive movies and TV shows on dvd:

- people who can't afford your streaming services for long periods of time would still be giving you money for the DVDs.

- being able to put special features and gag/blooper reels on the dvds! Those things, especially tv shows, can 1000% be longer than the measly 2 minutes that you post on youtube- another online thing that may not last forever. Cast interviews and other exclusive content. As long as its reasonably priced for what it is, people would be willing to have the dvds. And you're still getting their money, even if its a one time purchase.

- exclusive art/posters that come on the dvd case that isn't anywhere else! Even if someone continues to use your service, someone who is motivated to collect will purchase it because exclusive content.

All this to say, I do understand that the whole streaming service fad is because companies want people's extended attention and money, so they'd rather people pay a monthly fee rather than a one time purchase that they could possibly get from the library instead.

It goes to show greed and capitalism at work, I guess, companies helping people forget the free options at their disposal. Convenience of home (if you can or can't afford it) rather than going to a library or even going online to borrow e-books, etc.

Anyway. Put your exclusive TV shows and movies on dvds. God forbid you have a little permanence beyond today. And hey, especially with stranger things s1 being edited, now those with DVDs of the first season have rare! exclusive! content. So if you really wanna go back on your own word, its gonna be there forever. Sure, its a little scary. But like. People will search out dvds of s1 to watch it now.

Idk man. Just be cool and have ur stuff on dvd.
