Starfield Tips/Things I Wish I Knew Earlier

Starfield is honestly amazing if you like this kind of game, but it does seem to be pretty invested in letting you figure out how it works on your own by experimentation. And it's very easy to overlook features of the game.

So...

The traits that give you parents, a fan, and a house are really neat. You get some cool stuff from them. I only did the parents but damn I'm glad I did. So consider these.

You can make your spacesuit and helmet automatically disappear if you're in breathable atmosphere/in a settlement. This way you don't have to worry about taking them off and on and potentially leaving your ship without them. And you don't look like a dork in town. The option is in the inventory page for each of them.

You can boost/sprint when floating. This is important in the Certain Plot Relevant Places.

There is a part of New Atlantis called The Well with a bunch of people and shops and you get to it from an unmarked elevator behind Jemison Merchantile in the Spaceport (or the unmarked elevator in the MAST transit station.) I played 30 hours before I found this out.

Read the skills closely, including the locked ones. Multiple times I put points in the wrong thing, thinking it would let me do things, when that was actually a different skill elsewhere.

Don't avoid the UC Vanguard questline. A lot of people I think are avoiding it because it's joining the military on a side that is a little sketchy/sus, but there's a lot of reasons to do this EARLY.

There's a museum you go through that gives you the entire lore background and recent history of the world

There's a flight simulator "test" you can take as much as you want to practice the space combat.

The storyline is REALLY REALLY good. (um, warning for horror elements) There are two different quest lines it opens and one also opens access to joining the Crimson Fleet faction.

7. When you upgrade your pilot skill it unlocks using thrusters in space flight. These let you maneuver without moving forward, so you are way more agile in combat. Use RB with a controller, IDK what the keyboard thingy is. But they're actually great. You hold down the button and then move sideways or up and down. Makes moving to new targets much better.

8. Weapons have different levels. Base which just has the name and then Calibrated, Refined, and Advanced. So pay attention and pick up the higher level ones. If you get a good advanced gun early you can use it and upgrade it for EVER. There's also rarity levels, which is the colored things. But that's about bonus effects. So you might get a really shitty gun with a Legendary bonus effect and it's still trash. If you get a high level weapon with a good bonus effect TREASURE IT.

9. Certain quests give you really good items, including SHIPS. IMO the best ship to get is the one from the Freestar Rangers.

10. Once you get a house you can build in it just like in an outpost. Also you can drop things from your inventory into an outpost or a house and then in build mode move that item around onto shelves, etc.

11. There is Universal time and Planet time. So if you wait or sleep, depending on where you are that may count as more time passing than what you chose. All shops refresh their money and inventory in 48 hours UT, but on Jemison, for example, that's only 24 hours of planet time.

12. Ship building can be intense and intimidating but it's really really worth it. You can always cancel out and undo what you did, so experiment. And when in doubt, add more engines, lol. (But really you want to add cargo space ASAP and then you need more engines, and then you end up wanting whole new ships.) Different ports have different makers of parts, and the best items are in the home port for each brand.

13. Unlocking the Ship Targeting skill is a game changer for space combat. It lets you lock on and then slows down time while you pummel the enemy's ship systems. If you take our their engines, and they are alone you can then dock with them and fight them and take their ship. Space piracy FTW.

14. If you get contraband avoid cities. Go to the Wolf System to The Den to sell it. This is very lucrative. At the slight price of your personal integrity.

15. As a general rule if something is sucking, you need to find the skill for it and invest points in it. This is true for piloting, scanning, boost packs, etc. They really made the skill trees count and be necessary in this game. Also surveying planets is really good XP actually. To help you get those points.

16. Speaking of surveying, if you are trying to complete a planet you need to visit all the biomes. If you click on the planet it will tell you the percent complete of that biome before landing. If you have one lone fauna left that fucker is probably in the ocean so look for COAST.

17. When placing outposts make sure there's not a lot of annoying mountains in it, and also you really want to prioritize sites with He-3 because you need it to really do anything. (Helium, iron, aluminum are the most important to build with.) And you have a limited number of outposts without taking a high level skill to get more.

I have quite literally been scribbling notes on a scrap of paper like a madman while rewatching TGOA part 3 as many times as possible, just jotting down all the mindboggling information we've been given, and some less direct stuff that I could be reading too much into but is fun and neat even if it doesn't amount to anything crazy and galaxy-brained, lol.

The Ghosts of Antikythera ⚓️

Names, Names, Names!!!

Hey, might as well start with all the new names we've gotten!

The captain of the Antikythera — the ghost ship from 'someplace else' — is Addison Arvad.

Kal (my beloved/beloathed ❤ ) is Kalfu

The Traveler we met in TBS is Sia 💖💖

Ahlaam is another Traveler. I adore her already, and not just because she saved Rose.

Dakkar is... somebody. As expected, I've been going crazy in my dms with @man-down-in-hatchet-town, and she believes Dakkar is probably inspired by/based on Captain Nemo? 👀

King(?!) Itzal is... probably bad news! Kal's the one who calls him a King and he is obviously pretty loyal and devoted to him, and wants to impress him (aww), so methinks Itzal is maybe not so good???? (I am also a proud supporter of Brooke's Dylan Saunders as Itzal campaign, lol)

The Blazing World is home. It's where the Travelers and the Antikythera's Searchers (rip) are from, it was destroyed once—but is being rebuilt?—and Kalfu and Itzal seem to want it gone for good.

Lincoln Island is the mysterious island our heroes on the Ellen Austin are approaching at the end of the episode, the place Ahlaam sent Rose and the Antikythera to via orrery.

Quick *Approximate* Timeline

Eh, what can I say? We got numbers and I decided to do a tiny bit of math about it.

1874 — the Antikythera & the Ellen Austin

🎶 When are we? 🎶 Well, Morgan Reese informs our time-traveling heroes that, uh yeah lol, last he checked the year was 1874. What a funny question from a bunch of rapscallions!

Captain Arvad's logs from the Antikythera start in January 1874, so we know the Searchers were out and about in this same year. Their disappearances were recent and the ship hasn't been empty for all that long, I don't think.

1865 — may this monument stand forever

On this site in 1835, Sir John Herschel and Anna Hanover launched the first brick satellite, the Sagitta, in what was known as Township Number Nine. Erected to commemorate their bravery, to thank them for their gift to all mankind, may this monument stand forever.

Dedicated August, 1865.

1864 — the dark angel appears

A desperate AJ makes his ill-fated deal with Kal in exchange for his crew's safety during the Battle of Mobile Bay.

Damn the torpedoes.

1835 — the beginning of our adventure

🎶 IT IS EIGHTEEN THIRTY-FIVE 🎶 and the Great Moon Hoax and The Brick Satellite both happen in this year. Things were so simple back then!

1829 — the Blazing World is destroyed

In 1874, we are told (first by Arvad's journal, and then by Sia) that their home, that the Blazing World was destroyed 45 years ago. If my math is right and they're not hippity-hopping too much in time (they have time travel capabilities so idk for sure) that would put the destruction of the Blazing World in 1829.

If the world being destroyed is also the Event that Kal alludes to in Gunpowder and Rum, pt. 3 ("Your powers are returning and you still don't remember what happened? 😒") AND it's the one that left Margaret without her memories and powers, then... could Margaret have been feeling lost, alone, and disconnected with her phantom pain in New York for 6 whole years before the Stratfords wrote the hoax that would bring the quartet together??? 🥺

And while we're on the subject of time passing!

If Sia and Kalfu and everyone besides the quartet has gotten to 1874 the long way 'round... (which I think is the case if Kal snarked at Sia for hiding Margaret in the future—if he has a sense of the future in relation to the world and time, I'd say this also implies he & the others have a pretty consistent present?) ...have they aged? Or does their magic also lengthen their lives? I imagine it would be mentioned if Sia was visibly older, and since Samuel described Kal as looking ~40 years old, then how could he be younger than the war he's been in? lol. But idk, this is just food for thought!

Kal Loves His Lore Dumps, Doesn't he? This one's mostly about Margaret <3

"You've proven quite elusive over the years... We've searched across the seven seas... I suppose it's only fitting that I find you here by chance, looking for an orrery! I'd have settled for the ship, what's its name? An-ti-ky-ther-a. But you will be quite the prize. It's you that will seal our victory! A ship from the Blazing World would have been quite the quarry. But you? That could end things once and for all!"

"The ship, the orrery, they don't matter now. Not when I can dispatch the two biggest traitors in history with just one blow!"

Seems like our girl is pretty special~ 🥰

I mean, of course she is, she's our Margaret, but if Kal is willing to let the Antikythera go to get her instead, and he's so convinced that taking her out will win the war... our girl is Pretty Special™ right? Maybe she's a princess or something, or maybe her Radiance is just that heckin' strong. idk, but I'm excited to find out either way.

I'm also wondering if there's a connection between Margaret and the orrery/orreries... If Kal thought it was fitting to find her when he was after the orrery, does that mean something more? Could Margaret have created the orreries and/or the magic behind them? 👀

...actually maybe this isn't such a good and fun thing. 😅😟 Things don't usually go very well for special and important characters—what is the saying, tragedies love heroes? I mean, Margaret has lost her powers and memories once already, as well as her home and whatever family she may have had before. I know all our pulp blorbos have been in dire straights a few times now, but I don't want them to get MORE DIRE than this!

Kalfu, Sia, & Margaret's history

Kal: High marks for cloaking the fleet, but seriously—

Kal: Come on, it's a Traveler reunion.

...

Kal: Just a drink between three friends.

Sia: Oh, you were once a man that I trusted. Tell me, where has he been?

...

Sia: Itzal poisoned your mind!

Kal: Itzal opened my mind!

...

Sia and Margaret: *powering up*

Sia: Hey, Kalfu!

Kal: Huh? Ugh, not again.

Kal: *team rocket fog's blasting off again*

I think it's pretty safe to say that, once upon a time, these three were once close. Maybe they were friends and peers, or maybe Kalfu was once Sia and/or Margaret's mentor with that "high marks" comment. Whatever the case, they used to be allies who trusted each other.

I think it's also safe to say all three of them are/were Travelers. Obviously Sia is, and Margaret probably is/was one as well, since she and Sia have a badass combined attack (that I'm betting they used against Kalfu ~45 years prior). As for Kal... I don't know how the radiance and the fog fit together exactly, whether they've always been separate or the fog is a dark bastardization of the radiance, but it seems like he is on equal footing with Sia as far as magic powers go, and he can teleport like they do—AJ witnessed this at the Battle of Mobile Bay, and Samuel did (kinda) on the deck of the Ellen Austin. I don't know if that's the only qualification for being a Traveler, but it's worth mentioning.

It seems like Itzal was a pretty big factor in this trio splitting up—for whatever reason, Kal turned his back on Sia and Margaret to follow him, or perhaps Sia and Margaret left Kal behind when he wouldn't leave with them. I don't know, but I want to—I have questions!!!

Sia and Itzal — Future sight?

Kal (to Sia): You know, for someone with precognitive abilities, you sure like to cut things close. 😒

...

Kal: How I wish King Itzal was here to witness this. Or did he already know? Eh.

There's not much to say about this, really, I just think it's interesting.

But it does make me wonder if Sia *knew* that sending Margaret and the others to Hanover in 1874 would lead Margaret to the Antikythera and help her regain her memories, even if Sia couldn't see much more than that. Like, if she knew that Kal would be there, I don't think she would have put Margaret at risk like that when she was still vulnerable. Unless she was betting on Margaret figuring things out before Kal could make his move... gah, who knows! (Matt. Matt knows.) We do know that Sia can't see everything, though—she knows that the crew of the Antikythera are gone but has to ask Kal what he did with them.

Also, obligatory "yikes 😬" at the idea of having an enemy (King Itzal) who could possibly see your attacks/plans before you make them. That can't make this war any easier!

Fogging the vortices, you say?

Kal: We've been fogging the vortices for decades. There was bound to be an Antikythera sooner or later.

Vortices.... plural for vortex, yeah?

"A mass of whirling fluid or air, especially a whirlpool or whirlwind."

Is one of these vortices located here in the Sargasso Sea? Is that why Rose already knows plenty of ghost stories about these waters, why this is a strange place that'll one day be dubbed the Bermuda Triangle? Where are the other vortices??? How many are there??? What are they, exactly???

Okay, but what about the gates?

Kal: A war for a world of power and might

Sia: A war for a world of courage and light

Kal: Fought over decades

Sia: Over ascension

Kal/Sia: No chance of surrender, no chance of redemption

I'm just throwing darts here, but I feel like 'ascension' has to do with the gates that have been alluded to a few times now?

First, in TBS, Sia told Margaret that she couldn't take her to the gate until her memories were back. Then in part 2 of TGOA, Kal said something about the Antikythera's orrery leading him to the first gate.

I don't think these gates are the same thing as the vortices—if the bad guys have already been 'fogging' them, then Kal wouldn't need an orrery to find them.

The gates probably lead to the Blazing World, right? Kal and Itzal want to destroy the Blazing World for good, which is why Kal was trying to get the orrery, to get to the gate, to ascend to the Blazing World and turn it to dust once and for all.

Travelers and Symbols/Elements/Associations

To finish up, here's one of the things I've noticed more recently. We have four magical characters now who seem to be at similar levels of power and might all be/have been Travelers, and maybe it's just a fun bit of flavor rather than anything Extremely Vital to the plot, but they each seem to have their own kind of... niche?

Lemme run through 'em real quick.

Kalfu—

● Want a drink?

● Gunpowder and rum, too strong for some! 🎶

● And poison... is kinda my thing.

● Non-lethal fog, my latest brew

Kal's easy to figure out—he's been pretty clear with his gunpowder and rum (delicious!) and once he revealed it he's been very cheeky and upfront about his use of/preference for poison too. He also stands out as the only person wielding fog, but I'm sure that'll change as we delve further into the dark and into this war we're learning about.

Sia—

● "Was that sunlight shining in the sphere?"

● We're here to light the fuse

● Lay another hand on her and you'll go down in flames

● I will always be that feeling burning under your skin

hehe okay, Sia is the reason this whole section of my post exists lol. I noticed the references to fire in enough of her lines/lyrics in part 3 that I thought it couldn't be a coincidence, and then I looked at the others. I just think it's neat!

Maybe these lines are just nods to the fact that light can burn as well as illuminate—Kalfu would probably know, hah—but it is fun to think that maybe we could see our first and dearest Traveler friend whip out some cool fire magic later on—when she's not duking it out with somebody on a wooden boat, lol.

I'd love that for her, tbh.

...especially because alcohol is flammable. :)

Ahlaam—

Narrator: In a blinding flash, a woman materialized, and with a single motion, she pushed the water of the room with her mind

Okay, I fully admit this is mostly just a reason for me to make another waterbending joke. Ahlaam's appearance in this episode wasn't really long enough to give us much information about her, but I mean we also haven't seen anyone else do anything with water until she came along, so... if we see her do more stuff like this and she has more associations with water in episode 4 onwards, I will feel pretty smart. 😌

Margaret—

● the moon

● the sea

● astronomy

we might not know much about Margaret's magic beyond how brightly it glows—which isn't unique to her—and what she's been able to do with it, be we do know that she has a connection with the moon, of course.

I think we could also argue that she has a pull to the sea—mostly because of the view from her window and the rooftop, overlooking the water. Learning about the Searchers and the fact that Kal was looking for Margaret on the sea supports this connection, but again, that doesn't really single her out from the others.

Margaret does have an appreciation for astronomy, but even that might not be super unique, if her people have orreries on every ship and they all look up to the sky. However... my brain is still chewing on a possible connection between Margaret and the orrery, because of what Kal said. It would be pretty rad if she was the one who designed and crafted them, figured out that magic. So idk, that could be something.

If her memories are returning, maybe we'll see her really start to shine amongst her fellow Travelers as she recalls more about herself and brings together the person that resides in her memories and the person that losing her memories made her into.

phew, okay! this is a long post and I am now very sleepy, lol. I'm sure I missed a few things—I didn't take any *literal* notes during parts 1 & 2 and it'll be a few days before I get the album and lose my mind again—but maybe there's a few things I managed to catch that y'all will enjoy.

Beth -> I love my wife's gentle, softspoken nature. I hope Bethy can feel confident enough to tell me about almost anything because talking with her in the chat is always a blessing to me and i really want her to know that. It was never awkward when I'm with her even when she doesn't speak or not. I love her fav ships they're always so sweet/ih/not sure if it should be pun intended JDBDBDB🥰

Klai -> My henchwoman is incredible, idk but I feel like she has a lot of patience too when interacting with me--- always so understanding with everyone and would try her best to make everyone feel better despite of her own struggles. She's very generous, yes, and how she likes keeping up silly ramblings with me about worlds is what I mostly adore about her. Even solsticea has a special spot in my heart 🥺

Joe -> I love joey/p. They feed me art, they're my supportive dogboy/ih, and I'm glad they existed or else communion and doomed yaoi wouldn't have been in my dictionary DJHDDHDB in other words, I love their humor and friendliness makes me wanna keep them like a pocket friend/ih

Yami -> I love her vibes, I love her art, I love her art streams, I love when I talk to her, and I love her bc she's my angelfish/p🥰 She helps me walk away from dangers that try to reach me sometimes, is fun when she brings me to McDonalds while at it sniffles;;; thanks to her I'm very absorbed to ToD sometimes and still do that, how long was it since HDDBFBFB

Tae -> some of Shrimpy's humor stuck into me/ih and I love hearing her talk. Her voice is very calming to me that it makes me feel quite safe, it really sounds very friendly....;;; Her voice is also iconic i would wish to watch it in a lot of kinds of anime genres no matter if is piece of life or horror, it's incredible the way she narrates or voice acts dialogues in games on stream dhfbfbffb

Sleepy -> I like her art pieces. I want to draw as fast as her but I'd rather polish quality over time in my case since art styles really vary JDBFFBB- I like the moments when she’s glad to try and help people, and try to stay cheerful sometimes despite of the pressure she has to experience at times. I hope in the future these can flourish well and that she gets to achieve her goals somehow no matter how bumpy the road can be for her.

Lupi -> Lupita is supportive and wouldn't hurt me in any form;; despite that I don't see her as often as the others, I feel safe around her like I've never seeing her judge me before or is probably because I don't remember sobs;;; but yeah, she brings good vibes when we're hanging out heheheheh

Al -> I love Al/p for listening to me about Hana's reversed harem stuff and trying to learn dyanthus lore from me back at the lore wide discord server/ih. I love the times we gush over fnaf together too <3/ih and also freaking like how for some reason I imagine you as a squishy entity idk why/lh

Emma -> I love Emma and Tatya and Bartholomew and Georgie and everytime we interact really I love you/p, she has such great charisma and attitude it boosts my confidence and self-esteem a bit sometimes djnnddn saranghae pookie 🫶🌸

Fifi -> Fifita, my precious rat friend and portable incinerator room/hj, I thank her for letting me love and ship her blorbos and draw them JDDBBD her art makes me smile a lot even when she draws her scrunkles, Dreams of delirium is chef's kiss;;;

Anwyll -> Anwy is a new friend I just met, and I'm already holding hands gently with him/p. I love how we have this mutual agreement about pretty blonde boys BDDBFBFBFB--- I love their blorbos too, especially Nevi(hes so pretty i like making Lau rizz him a bit/ih) and Edvin (I love farmers, I think they're so neat as heck)

Mango -> He has a nice sense of humor, I'll take that---/ih I love his art, the way he drew my goofy son once, and how he named almost everyone in dinosaur parody(I'm still sobbing from that JDBDBDB;;) and he's nice to talk with when he's not sus and... confusing, I don't understand what he says sometimes but its best to not know 🤔😊/lh

Kory -> I nearly lost my friend, Korita. It could have been one of my greatest regrets 😔 but anyway, I love her blorbos, but what I mostly love is her been spoody as usual and just taking every problem like a tough one(she's trying her best okay/lh). A nice spooder. 🥺/pos

Mandika -> I get excited when talking to Mandita, it's either neat or concerning/pos. But nonetheless I like receiving these rare art requests from her, it's my excuse to laugh and cry internally at the same time as I enjoy seeing her giggles and go silly JDDBBFFB

Thanks for the ask!!! It's not a lot, no worries! The Danganronpa ship I like is called IshiMondo, with Kiyotaka (Taka) Ishimaru and Mondo Owada (or Oowada, depending on localization) as the characters. ^-^

I'll put my response in a read more, since it's obviously an hour long, given my deep and passionate love of rambling. :-)

8. What is their first date like?

Funny enough, I wrote a story about their first date in the universe of my main story for the pair, The Problem with Perfection. However, considering that I changed both characters over the span of my fic to sort of deconstruct their personality traits and coping mechanisms, I'm not quite sure if that's how their first date would go when you look at them according to canon. Based on canon, my belief is that their "first date" wasn't actually a "date," per se. Given their obliviousness, and comments from (I believe??) a writer of Danganronpa, I'd think they'd go on hundreds of "dates" before realizing that they're dating, at which point they'd already have been living together for years with multiple pets and literally all of their friends believing they're in the strongest long-term relationship of all of them. Perhaps they'd even have an adopted child or two by that point, who knows. 😅😅😅

15. What's their song?

Oooh, this is a tough one... see, there are tons of songs that remind me of IshiMondo, to the point where I made an entire YouTube playlist for TPWP dedicated to the pair (which you can find here, if you're interested). But a single song that is "their" song? Well. In the context of TPWP, I'd say it would either be I See the Light, from Disney's Tangled, or So Close, from Disney's Enchanted. Both songs are used at emotional cruxes of the fic, since I adore both songs and I was like "f*** it, I'm the writer, what I say goes," ha. In that universe, I'd say that they both would see both songs as "their song," given that both were kinda instrumental in them getting together in the fic. Now, as for in canon... that gets trickier. I'm not really sure what song they would consider "their" song, especially given that my taste in music does not seem to align with music either would like. Taka, for one, does not strike me as someone who likes music that isn't either political/patriotic (to Japan, not America, ha) in some way, or that is educational. And Mondo would profess to like tough, biker guy music, while secretly liking, like... pop or something. So, for the sake of my sanity, I'll just go with the ones I said for TPWP.

17. Favorite activity to do together or way to spend time together?

Oh, this is easy. For Taka, it would be to "quietly" study together while either in one of their respective rooms, or else in the library. For Mondo it would be to ride around on his motorcycle. No real destination in mind, just riding while pressed close together. Collectively, it would be taking baths in a local bathhouse together, doing their "manly bonding" while butt naked, since both of them seem to think this is a perfectly normal thing to do. Which, I believe, it is in Japan, so no shame there.

19. Where would they travel or go on vacation/honeymoon?

Hm, this is tricky, again. Somewhere local, I would think. Taka is a very practical, hardworking man, who comes from an impoverished background. He wouldn't understand the point of going on an elaborate vacation, even for his honeymoon. Mondo might want to, but ultimately he'd defer to Taka, and they might do a tour of Japan, going to historical areas that are rich with history and whatnot. I'd go more into detail, but I'm honestly getting really tired, so I won't ramble too much more, ha.

Bowuigi:

1. How do they sleep? Ie, positions, who spoons who, who steals all the covers, etc.)?

Honestly man, I have no idea, ha. 😅😅😅 They'd have to sleep very, very carefully given the size difference. I like to think of them sleeping in kind of like a pile. Bowser curled protectively around Luigi like a dragon, while Luigi sleeps lying mostly on top of Bowser. ^-^

6. What do they playfully tease each other about?

Luigi playfully teases Bowser about how grandiose he always is, especially in relation to how he used to chase after Peach. There are other things he'd tease Bowser about, but as I said earlier I'm getting really tired and nothing is coming to mind, sorry! Bowser would playfully tease Luigi about how nervous he always is about everything. Sometimes it would go a bit passed "playful" into "kinda mean," but Bowser would always stop before it got too far and would do his best to apologize while not apologizing. Things like "anonymously" giving Luigi gifts, or doing small gestures that he ordinarily wouldn't do for anyone but that show Luigi how much he cares.

15. What's their song?

Ahhhh another hard one! Especially because I interpret this question as meaning "the song they believe represents them, or that is the song they associate with their relationship," as it usually means when couples talk about "their song." But I honestly don't know what song either of them would consider "their song," since again my taste of music doesn't seem like it would fit either of them. Bowser would likely like hard rock/metal, while Luigi would like more folksy, down to earth music. Likely Italian, ha. A song I associate with them would be Beautiful Things Can Come From The Dark, by Azure Ray. But that's just a song I associate with most "enemy to lovers" relationships, honestly. Same with The Reason, by Hoobastank. Another one that I associate with them is They Don't Know, by Tracy Ullman (Note: I know she's not the original singer, but her version is the one my dad would play when I was a kid, so it's the only one I know. Though after listening to the original by Kirsty MacColl I think Luigi would appreciate this one better, honestly).

20. How is their home decorated?

Well, I imagine they'd live in Bowser's castle given that he's a king, so there would be the usual things in Bowser's castle, such as dark stone walls and flowing lava. Luigi would definitely make changes, though, to make it more homey. He'd add flowers, bright wallpaper, brighter lights, things like that to make the decor less dreary, but still respecting Bowser's desire to be somewhat intimidating. It would be a good blend of their personalities I think.

Anyway, that took way longer than intended. 😭😭😭 I've been writing this pretty much since I got the ask about an hour ago, oof. I hope this was informative though! I'd proof read, but it's nearly midnight and I have to be up at 6:30 for one of my last days at my internship. Only four more to go!!!!!! Thanks God!!!!!!!!!!! While this internship isn't the worst, and my supervisor is nice, he's kinda incompetent and isn't really teaching me much. They're pretty much using me as slave labor and are taking my creations (I've created 2 classroom lessons for various elementary classes. I'm interning as an elementary school counselor) without permission to use for future lessons, as well as getting me to do lunch duty and sometimes cover classes despite the fact I've never worked as a substitute and have no idea what I'm doing in those cases???? But it's like, whatever. As long as I finish the hours and get my credential, I'll be happy.

hi i’m sorry to bother you but um. idk the posts you’ve been making are coming across pretty lesbiphobic given the context,,,? i don’t understand why it’s such a big deal.

Let's see, I believe my latest post was me sharing the full text of a novel translation that was getting misquoted in order to bully people disagreeing with a popular interpretation. Sharing facts rather than bully-fuel hearsay is the reason for the latest posts, nothing more nothing less.

The existence of women who like multiple genders (whether they're fictional or not) is a fact, our bi and pan sisters deserve rep and respect too~ Sushang's neat.

To be completely honest? Acting like a bi Sushang would be "worse" than being a lesbian in a game full of lesbians sounds like cryptoterf shit so I've been pretty suspicious of that rabble so far. That doesn't fly with me.

Regarding Kiana, I fully interpret her as a lesbian, however the word "lesbian" isn't used by her in the canon text of hi3. A rose by any other name would smell just a sweet, doesn't make her any less gay. She doesn't say "I'm a lesbian" but she says "I'm in love with Mei", y'all, the original post that sparked the controversy wasn't saying that Kiana wasn't a lesbian, it was saying that not everyone ships Kiamei and some folks prefer to see them as broken up or close friends instead, and then people got really intense on twitter. Seems like there was a weird misunderstanding about what what was being talked about.

In a vaccum though, I agree that's not a big deal! My DMs are open, and I'm not one to yell. If you have a legitimate grievance, I'll hear you out, but you can't just say words and not back them up. This is a very serious accusation you're leveling at me and I don't think I've done anything that warrants it. Did the above come off as me hating lesbians? Nah nah, no way, that's my own crew, though my girlfriend's bi so it annoys me when people shit on bi headcanons.

Oh man, oh man, where do I begin?

I am a recent convert myself (and I'm going to page armand/lestat master @hekateinhell to add anything I missed) but they're one of those ships where once you look at it you can't stop seeing the potential everywhere. Their initial meeting is so cataclysmic. Armand is in the catacombs playing coven leader and torturing Nicki, Lestat is so young (literally and figuratively, since he's 22 and only been a vampire for weeks? Months, maybe?) and he just rolls in and blows up Armand's entire life and you'd think that's it, they're enemies forever. And yet not long after the two of them meet again and are able to take a good long look at each other and realize they're not so different, that in being made vampires they've been forced into a deeply difficult existence and under all the hurt they've dealt one another they love each other too.

It's funny to think that Lestat's code name for Armand in his letters to/from Eleni is 'our oldest friend' because as you go through the series they genuinely are each other's oldest friend. They deal each other so many blows in their youth but both of them keep coming back with the knowledge that one day they'll be able to spend time together and mend things and if that isn't a fated love I don't know what is.

They're both indulgent. They both appreciate the same kind of overwrought art and beautiful objects. They're not maker and fledgling and thus can be truly equals to one another, can share a kind of mental intimacy they can't with the ones they've made.

Lestat, I think, with all of his chaos and lust for life can bring Armand out his shell whenever he's going through a dark night of the soul. And when Lestat is in the thick of things, really going through it like in MtD, Armand somehow always shows up to be an anchor for him (and sometimes to call him on his shit).

Could they settle down and make some kind of long term happy home? Maybe not. But they can keep coming back into each other's lives and be what the other needs, taking comfort in the deep and intimate knowledge they have of each other? Absolutely.

idk I just think they're neat.

the way i view their relationship is quite different to i think how ppl that ship the two view it.

i love and adore R/onance (censored so it doesnt show up in anyone's search bc this post isnt about them) BUT imagine: Robin x Chrissy.

Not just because the ship name i'd pick for it is Chrobin and that sounds funny to me but ALSO imagining Chrissy and Eddie being besties like Robin and Steve and they're BOTH jealous of the others because they're misunderstanding the nature of their friendship xD

Also Chrissy helping him graduate because she NEEDS him to get out of high school and away from the Hellfire kids because all he does is complain about them talking about Steve which ends in long rants and Chrissy's just like

"I dont get paid enough for this"

but she's too nice to EVER point it out so of course she's just like "wow yeah they ARE so inconsiderate. yeah how dare they talk about Steve. yes his eyes are very pretty"

This meaning Eddie shows up to Chrissy's performances and Lucas's games which means he keeps running into Steve which continues the cycle.

Adding onto the fact this is where Chrissy meets Robin for the first time and has to put on her clown make up. Chrissy and Eddie taking turns talking about Steve and Eddie. like Chrissy "ok your fifteen minutes are up let me talk about her" Cunningham and Eddie "there's no way that was fifteen minutes you're bullshitting me" Munson and the whole time they're braiding each other's hair

Plus the moments when Chrissy feels unsafe at home so she crashes at Eddie's place. Whenever Wayne is there, he cooks up a fast meal for them. They all smoke pot together and watch cheesy b-rated horror flicks.

Also Dustin has swept one upperclass neglected/abused rich kid under his wing as a de facto parental figure, he will do it again

Chrissy doing a cheerleader flip or whatever, making direct eye contact with Robin (who is looking respectfully) and WINKING

Eddie being like "You know who almost misses her queue after being winked at by a girl?!"

Steve being like "You know who winks at a girl after showing off a flip?!"

And when all the supernatural stuff comes to light Chrissy is like. well shit, someone get me a purple palm tree delight. (jonathan still met argyle someone because i said so).

Chrissy and Robin end up accidentally going on a first date when Steve and Eddie set them up abandon them to babysit the kids who somehow got wind that they were going into town and followed. Chrissy and Robin hit it off because Robin was NOT expecting her to be so nice and Chrissy thinks everything she says is utterly hilarious charming which has Robin like "jesus h christ is this what game with the girls feels like is this what steve felt like -" and they each learn each other's favorite song

Which WILL result in a moment where Robin has to sing "like a songbird" because WHY ELSE IS SHE NAMED AFTER A BIRD IF NOT TO SING (joking. kinda.) and save Chrissy.

Submission I was debating but chose not to: John Constantine/Nick Necro/Zatanna Zatarra from DC. They're...mostly canon (all three in love, bound their souls together) but the break up leans a bit too much on the jealousy ("you stole Z from me") for me to really view it as full canon, because that first issue really doesn't have much, even if they add in a bunch later.

It's entirely a retcon/backstory pairing, although what we see in that issue is very fun, with the three of them being a badass coven of black magic users together, fighting crime and being punk af, but most of Nick's canon appearances are post breakup (he went crazy and they sent him to hell) where he's a supervillain, and spends his time avoiding the plot to try and torture them to becoming evil with him, because he's handling the breakup Very Well. That's the other reason I shied away from it, because like, even compared to the Blumentrio from Critical Role, they're dark af, and I feel this leans fluffy (which, I do also like fluffy ships, we deserve happy poly love)

New 52's Constantine is not my favorite, and I don't like how it left Zatanna stuck as his love interest, but damn do I still like the idea of these three. John Constantine has never had a relationship that ended well in his life, only fitting 1/3 of his soul is now in hell. At least he got to steal his boyfriend's coat.

idk if tragedy itself would be enough for me to not choose a throuple but the jealousy thing thats make me upset :/ but now that its happened and one of them turned evil i think it would be neat if they somehow helped nick (was that his name?) dtop being a villain and then we could have a poly friends to enemies to lovers which is a beautiful trope imo and this time nobody would be jealous

OKAY SO! end of season 3 right, all is well, then some alien dinosaur shows up (he's a tricerton. im not spelling it right but idc) and he beats up the mutanimals (ninja turtles friends) and so raph goes after him, tames him ig??? and then dino dude is all "there are KRAANG ON YOUR PLANET" and the turtles are like "lol we got rid of them like 15 episodes ago keep up" but decide the humor dino man anyways EVEN THOUGH HE BEAT THE CRAP OUTTA THEIR FRIENDS??? LIKE OKAY UH SURE ANYWAYS WE'RE GONNA GLOSS OVER THAT- hey btw where did u say the kraang were again??? not that we're worried but yk just in case.....okay yeah can u take us there okay yeah cool thanks

so dino man takes them to where the kraang are hiding out (i think t was the technodrome?? idk its been like a week since i finished s3 but im pretty sure they were in the technodrome. ANYWAYS) dino man takes them there, they beat up some kraang, if u listen closely you'll hear me yelling over leo's fighting style. i just think he's neat, and then they find out that the kraang are doing smth or another at the statue of liberty, so THEN dino dude is like "WE GOTTA DESTROY THE BEACON." so the turtles are like ok CHILL we're doing that rn, cue more fighting with the kraang (WHO ARE ALL TERRIFIED BY DINO DUDE BTW. BC HIS SPECIES IS LIKE THE SWORN ENEMY OF THE KRAANG. THEY ARE NOT BESTIES)

then plot twist, after the kraang retreat, the dino dude is like "i also have to destroy your planet now bc u humans suck ass and also there are kraang everywhere lol there's nothing u can do to stop this" and the turtles (raph specifically, THAT WAS HIS DINO PAL MAN) are like hey wait lets talk this over we JUST saved this fucking planet wdym you're gonna blow us up and then dino dude is like oh im not blowing u up we're just gonna activate a black hole and get rid of this whole galaxy.

the turtles do not like this

so raph is EPIC and destroys the beacon (but not before it signals the rest of the dino army but they don't know that until the next episode rip) oh and also dino dude falls off the statue of liberty and dies

next ep!! the kraang have reassembled and are loading up the technodrome, the turtles gear up to take them down again, then the rest of the dino dude army shows up, shit goes south real quick, mikey gets captured and the others almost get vaporized and leo gets to fly a spaceship again, they rescue mikey piss of the dino general dude meet this AWESOME KRAANG GUY WHO I LOVE his name is agent bishop and i love him, and then they gather all their friends for an epic season finale boss fight to stop the dino dudes from black hole-ing the planet (they get shredder involved too. it's awful. i hate him)

so they're all fighting and stuff, trying to stop the dino army for setting up the black hole thing, AND THEY ALMOST WIN. BUT LIKE I SAID. THEY ENLISTED THE FUCKING SHREDDER. AKA "I HAVE NEVER LET ANYTHING GO EVER. I STUBBED MY TOE ONCE AND NOW I HAVE A PERSONAL BEEF WITH FUNITURE." so shredder does what shredder does best and LITERALLY stabs splinter in the back while he was going to shut off the black hole portal thing. like the bitch he is. and the turtles are like "WHAT THE FUCK." and then the portal is activated and the earth is sucked into a black hole and the turtles are just SITTING THERE holding their dead dad as the world is ending but at the last second a SHIP shows up and this robot (FUGITOID. I LOVE HIM. i know he does something in this season that pisses the turtles off but i forgot what it is) shows up and is like "COME IF YOU WANT TO SURVIVE"

and so they do and fugitoid zooms them away to the relative safety of space and does some time rewind thing that sets them 6 months in the past so that they can now find the black hole portal parts which are scattered across the galaxies before the dino army does and stop them from destroying the earth again and THAT. THAT MY LOVE. is why they are in space.
