TIG Blog Announcement

Hey, TIG fandom. I have a massive undertaking that's going to span throughout The Grandest Game series. If you noticed today's post called the "TGG To-Do List", that's going to be a new segment on the blog. Also, I'm going to start another called "TGG Mysteries" which will address the major mysteries we know of going into The Grandest Game. I may also start a third called TGG Theories but we'll get to that later. Anyways, TGG To-Do List and TGG Mysteries will be two new additions on my blog headings for you to check out.

I will also be incorporating a series of new hashtags: #tggtodolist, as you likely already saw, #tggmysteries, and #tggtheories.

Now, what is going on with this? Well, under TGG To-Do List and TGG Mysteries, you'll find all entries related to the tags and there will likely be several parts. However, I don't want to just do this myself. I've already been talking to several people about clues on the covers and in the past books. @hathorneheiress and @carmenpowerpuffgirl, you are my inspo for this so kudos to you before I continue.

As a community, there are many minds with different thought processes and ideas. Like in the last few days we've been guessing and spinning theories left, right, and through the roof which is why I believe we can all make contributions to this. So here's what I want you to do. If you have ideas to add to the to-do list or have theories pertaining to the mysteries, send an ask or put one of the hashtags listed on here and tag me so I can put a link to your entry.

I want to see to see this list grow. I know for sure that many of you are hungry for content but the truth is we already have much of it here and who knows how many new things we can put together from the old clues. Remember what Jameson told Avery in The Final Gambit?

I don't know what mark we're at. I don't know how far we have to go. I don't know if we're that much closer. Maybe this is our Saturday morning where we get to show we're extraordinary but we know that already so let's do just that. We've been taught how to think like Hawthornes; are you ready to prove that? This is your chance.

I did know about that! Though with Inscryption being both a cover-up and a fairly isolated project, I'd imagine it would be more of an office rumor rather than an actual NPC designation. On account of the liability, it's more or less just an office in-joke; people don't actually get reassigned there...

Ok I have a little baby theory about the launch - my initial thought was scripted content, specifically expanding the puppet history universe and possibly rebooting/finishing the hot data. The TV really stands out in my mind. Obviously it could just be a nod to the mission statement - "television caliber content" - but the professor showing up in MF? Morris Ashley having a fear of HORSES?? Not to stretch even further but THE HORSE CLIP IN THE BENDER EP HAVING THE SAME COLOURING/MARKINGS AS DOROTHY RUTH AND STANLEY MELVIN? These are most likely just the ramblings of a deranged unemployed youth, but it all keeps bouncing around in my brain. I have thought for a long time that PH could be expanded past the game show format; Shane has the ideas and passion to make scripted storytelling a big part of the show already. And Steven said that puppet history is synonymous with watcher .. idk. But I want it.

Realistically I know that I'm most likely way off base and it doesn't make the most sense for the company to make those choices. But it's my little baby theory and I will cuddle it until the 19th

I do love the possible parallel between Morris Ashley and the Professor- they are both Professors soooo...

Significance of date? Hmm, I am unsure on this one if there is a significance. It may have just been the day that fit well with planning. Ya know with prepping for the announcement and when it would pick up the most traction which makes sense with putting it at the end of Mystery Files. That show does numbers for Watcher!

Maybe I will look into it, but truly I think it was just the right time with planning that led to the date.

Studying with OIKAWA on the night before your weekly quiz is nothing new.

There’s nothing new about this whole setting, aside from the fact that it was a day dedicated to Cupid. And you just happened to be in close, personal, quarters with your long time crush.

The table in his room stood between you, notes and books spread along the top. A wrapper here and there from one of the countless chocolates he received that day.

Oikawa reaches into his bag of goodies and pulls out another candy. Long fingers work to unravel the plastic wrapped around the bonbon before they pop it into his awaiting mouth.

Haikyuu!! Rarepair Tournament

This has been something I've been wanting to do since November and with Tumblr introducing polls and all of the other tournaments going around, I decided to finally do it.

RULES:

Submissions must have less than 500 fics on AO3. I will double check all of these when I'm making my list. If your ship has over 500, try searching it with "otp:true" to see if that changes anything. (This is the filter I'll be using when I check tags)

This probably goes without saying but I want to be clear: I will not accept any incestuous or adult/minor pairings.

Campaigning is encouraged but please be kind and respectful! At the end of the day, it's just a tumblr poll.

Right now, I'm planning on including most of the submissions I get but this may change if I get more than I expected. This also may change if characters repeat a lot (like, if say, I get a lot of Oikawa ships). I'm undecided on how I'll narrow them down in those cases but I'll think of something.

Submit your rarepair here. You can submit as many as you want, just please don't send the same pairing more than once.

I don't have a set end date for when I'll stop accepting submissions (it's entirely dependent on how many submissions I get) but I'll give a heads up the day before.

hello, what is the 'games untold'??

Hi, so JLB dropped a clue regarding the last card which is the surprise for Wednesday. She said some people kind of guessed it and that if we looked online, we might find another clue. People found a book called Duel Amongst with an anagram version of JLB’s name. It was labelled TIG 5. There was also another number code that translated to “Love is power”. Then, I found people putting the summary of the book in the Insta comments which was more than the initial stuff most people found. I saw people looking at Penguin Books UK and so when I went on the website, I found the summary and a little later after that, the new cover. It seems that it will be a collection of short stories with our fave couples and the brothers as well. There are several. Hope that explains it well enough.

okay so i’ve been talking about this fic ever since i made my tumblr account... you might also know it as my favourite kuroo fic ever or maybe just favourite fic ever because it’s That good... written by one of my favourite fic writers ever... and i would have rec’d it sooner if not for the fact that the author took the fic down to rewrite it and the day i clicked on my bookmark of the fic and found out that the fic was privated was the absolute Worst day of my life BUT we are all good now and today is the best day of my life in fact because!!! she reuploaded it!!! and this fic is good luck, have fun by ao3 user wanderwithme <333 i love her and her fics so much i even have a hashtag for it (see below LOL)

i adore this fic for soooo many reasons but to keep it short (and to avoid spoilers), here are three main things i love about this fic under the cut!!!!

1. it has kuroo in it. duh. okay but this kuroo is truly unlike any other kuroo i’ve read!!! he is... very normal. and i mean that in a good way; normal as in he isn’t a person who’s crazily outstanding or extraordinary. but he’s still great, he’s a good friend to kenma (very good friend in fact), a good boyfriend to reader, a good captain to the nekoma team. he simply does his best to quietly elevate everyone else around him. he’s sweet, respectful, kind, and so so smiley in this, he gives me the craziest butterflies. what i like about this kuroo is that he seems very attainable and almost boy-next-door. this kuroo makes me feel safe; and i can guarantee you that you’ve never read a kuroo like this (or at least i haven’t)

2. the writing style. this goes for all of her fics!!! it’s the total opposite of mine which is why i think i like it so much -- it’s punchy, succinct, straight to the point but still filled with so, so much detail. the worldbuilding is subtle but still so good, and overall her fics are easy to read but still pack a punch. i read her jjk stuff too (and i think she writes more for jjk now!!!) tho i still don’t know anything about the anime despite watching it twice <3 i haven’t even met the lawyer dude but i’m obsessed with her new series with him which i am linking here (when you look at me like that, my darling, what did you expect?) if you wanna check it out : ) there are manga spoilers though so please tread carefully

3. the love between kuroo and reader -- it’s very simple and realistic!!! despite the misunderstandings (and god do i LOVE some good misunderstandings <333) you can really tell the pair of them trust and care for each other deeply. it’s very much show-not-tell in this fic and that’s why i love it. their love is a little playful, really sweet, really comfortable, and i love how it isn’t always like that -- reader falls slowly, then all at once, and it’s just so realistic and relatable. this isn’t something i can describe well, you have to read it to find out!

anyways i’ve blabbed on enough but that’s really just how much i love this fic so!!!! go read it!!!! smash the kudos button!!!!! leave the wonderful author a comment as well!!!! T^T
