#incident 84'
Text
SDJ IS AN ADULT VN MINORS DNI. PUT YOUR AGE IN BIO OR YOU'LL BE BLOCKED
The tape "Incident 84" probably is a original copy of the show and contains the last episode of the original Sunny Day Jack, aka the one where Jack died/killed (was shot?) while filming. Everything directs that after said incident the producers tried to bury all clues related to it to protect themselves.
(In Jambeebot's drawings there was one with two formers actors of the show in what it seemed an interview or talking with someone who was asking them about the incident and the woman said they didn't let them hold a funeral for Joseph/Jacktor. AND in this drawing his grave seemed improvised God knows where by someone who knew him, no grave per se just a which further proves he didn't get a proper funeral and only the people who worked in the show knew he died at the age 25 under turbulent circumstances.)
Tumblr media
So that tape was the only existing one that proved his death/murder, the person who kept it died and somebody donate their things or they get rid of it themselves and that's why Jack was trapped in there.
After all, it contained his death, but also the last moments of his life and who killed him or why he died. The first element his soul could cling to this realm, well, before you.

I fucking love Sunnyday Jack. I wasn’t as interested in him as it seemed I was but after being able to actually experience the demo of the game, I can say that I’m at least knowledgeable about it and can write proper stuff for him.
I am also in love with Nick. Holy shit I love this guy. Can’t wait for the actual game so I can have him as a love interest (after I do Jacks route of course hehe)
I mean look at this guy—he’s such a pretty boy, I love this damn game

one thing that doesn’t stop amusing me is how edgar and mikey call sly ‘august’ even though he asks them to call him sly. the funniest is when sly tells edman that ‘sly’ is fine twice in that one conversation and edman just. doesn’t.
the notable exception being mustardseed calling him sly.

"Research on a police diversion program implemented in 2014 shows a striking 91% reduction in in-school arrests over less than 10 years.
Across the United States, arrest rates for young people under age 18 have been declining for decades. However, the proportion of youth arrests associated with school incidents has increased.
According to the U.S. Department of Education, K–12 schools referred nearly 230,000 students to law enforcement during the school year that began in 2017. These referrals and the 54,321 reported school-based arrests that same year were mostly for minor misbehavior like marijuana possession, as opposed to more serious offenses like bringing a gun to school.
School-based arrests are one part of the school-to-prison pipeline, through which students—especially Black and Latine students and those with disabilities—are pushed out of their schools and into the legal system.
Getting caught up in the legal system has been linked to negative health, social, and academic outcomes, as well as increased risk for future arrest.
Given these negative consequences, public agencies in states like Connecticut, New York, and Pennsylvania have looked for ways to arrest fewer young people in schools. Philadelphia, in particular, has pioneered a successful effort to divert youth from the legal system.
Philadelphia Police School Diversion Program
In Philadelphia, police department leaders recognized that the city’s school district was its largest source of referrals for youth arrests. To address this issue, then–Deputy Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel developed and implemented a school-based, pre-arrest diversion initiative in partnership with the school district and the city’s department of human services. The program is called the Philadelphia Police School Diversion Program, and it officially launched in May 2014.
Mayor-elect Cherelle Parker named Bethel as her new police commissioner on Nov. 22, 2023.
Since the diversion program began, when police are called to schools in the city for offenses like marijuana possession or disorderly conduct, they cannot arrest the student involved if that student has no pending court case or history of adjudication. In juvenile court, an adjudication is similar to a conviction in criminal court.
Instead of being arrested, the diverted student remains in school, and school personnel decide how to respond to their behavior. For example, they might speak with the student, schedule a meeting with a parent, or suspend the student.
A social worker from the city also contacts the student’s family to arrange a home visit, where they assess youth and family needs. Then, the social worker makes referrals to no-cost community-based services. The student and their family choose whether to attend.
Our team—the Juvenile Justice Research and Reform Lab at Drexel University—evaluated the effectiveness of the diversion program as independent researchers not affiliated with the police department or school district. We published four research articles describing various ways the diversion program affected students, schools, and costs to the city.
Tumblr media
Arrests Dropped
In our evaluation of the diversion program’s first five years, we reported that the annual number of school-based arrests in Philadelphia decreased by 84%: from nearly 1,600 in the school year beginning in 2013 to just 251 arrests in the school year beginning in 2018.
Since then, school district data indicates the annual number of school-based arrests in Philadelphia has continued to decline—dropping to just 147 arrests in the school year that began in 2022. That’s a 91% reduction from the year before the program started.
We also investigated the number of serious behavioral incidents recorded in the school district in the program’s first five years. Those fell as well, suggesting that the diversion program effectively reduced school-based arrests without compromising school safety.
Additionally, data showed that city social workers successfully contacted the families of 74% of students diverted through the program during its first five years. Nearly 90% of these families accepted at least one referral to community-based programming, which includes services like academic support, job skill development, and behavioral health counseling...
Long-Term Outcomes
To evaluate a longer follow-up period, we compared the 427 students diverted in the program’s first year to the group of 531 students arrested before the program began. Results showed arrested students were significantly more likely to be arrested again in the following five years...
Finally, a cost-benefit analysis revealed that the program saves taxpayers millions of dollars.
Based on its success in Philadelphia, several other cities and counties across Pennsylvania have begun replicating the Police School Diversion Program. These efforts could further contribute to a nationwide movement to safely keep kids in their communities and out of the legal system."

Here is my contribution to the Harringrove Relay Race ✨🤍
poured gold 1.7k words | unbeta'd | hurt/comfort @harringrove-relay-race
When he was two years old, Steve clumsily ran down the hall in his home and hit his head on the sharp corner of a little table that sat in the hallway, splitting his skin open as the vase atop came crashing down as he did. The blood ran down his cherub-cheeked face as his mother screamed in horror, his father picking him up in a panic as the three of them rushed out to the car.
While his forehead had been put back together with a few carefully placed stitches, the vase that had crashed to the floor, just after he had, was left in pieces while they had rushed him to the hospital. Once they’d returned back home, the mess had been cleaned and Steve had forgotten all about it – he couldn’t even remember the incident at all, really, with having been so young.
When he turned six, he’d heard his mother exclaim in excitement as the mailman delivered a package to their front door. From atop the steps, peering down silently, he’d watched her unbox the same vase that had been broken all those years before – but now, the cracks had been filled with gold and it was whole once again.
He didn’t understand, at first. Why not throw the vase away in the first place? What good was a broken vase with its flaws now highlighted?
He’d gone downstairs with those questions, scrunching his little face as he listened to his mother patiently explain that she’d sent the vase back to their friends in Japan, who had originally gifted it to their family. It had been returned to her like this, repaired with gold, and she’d explained how the gold made the vase stronger and the flaws were now beautiful.
“Broken things can be beautiful if you take care of them.”
That had resonated with him, even at such a young age. It just made sense. Imperfections and flaws happened, but that doesn’t mean everything’s ruined. He can fuck up and make amends. He can break and heal stronger than before.
It gave him hope – for himself, for everyone, for everything. He had the symbol of it sitting in his hallway at home.
And ever since that conversation, whenever he didn’t do well on a test or had a fight with a friend, or his parents fought, Steve often found himself in the hallway, slowly and carefully tracing his fingertips over the cracks of gold and reminding himself that everything would be okay as long as he took care of it.
He’d been careful with the vase from that day on, admiring it now and then and remembering its reminder, until he relied on it less and less.
Until one night, Halloween night in ‘84, when his heart had felt like that broken vase and his tears were hotter than the blood that had run down his cheeks at the age of two.
Bullshit.
Rushing out of Tina’s house, Steve pinches the bridge of his nose as he stumbles to his car, feeling like his heart has shattered into pieces and he’s left cradling them in his palms as he tries not to sob in his car, drunk and lonely and feeling goddamn stupid in his Halloween costume as he makes it inside his empty house. His parents are gone at some other party, thankfully.
He rips the sunglasses out of his jacket pocket and throws them against the wall in a fit of rage, just to make something else hurt even if it’s useless, with tears burning white-hot in his eyes as his gaze lands on the vase in the hallway.
The gold mocks him and his broken heart.
He goes over, picks it up, and for a second he wants to break it again – on purpose. He wants to prove the gold wrong, prove that flaws are flaws and broken things could be made uglier so easily.
But, with the weight of it resting in his palm, he knows he can’t.
Instead, he sniffles and holds the vase steady as he gently sways, trails his tearfilled gaze over the golden cracks in the warm light of the hallway as he breathes out a quiet sigh.
He wouldn’t hurt his mother by destroying it again. He couldn’t.
Setting the vase back down, he goes up to his room to mourn quietly. The loss of love burns and aches sharply in his chest, it quickly attempts to make him bitter and hopeless until he’s sick of it, until it consumes him – but, that’s when he tries to remember the good, the gold of what used to make him smile, what used to make her happy. How they had been happy, once, for a brief, hopeful period of time. He fills those golden thoughts in the cracks of his heart, repairs it to be stronger, like the vase.
It’s a bittersweet process. Because he knows that she doesn’t love him and he wants to pretend that she does, wants to ask her if she really believes in what she said, but he doesn’t want to know the truth. He doesn’t want to know that their feelings and relationship were bullshit.
Maybe to her they were, and maybe she’ll think that he’s bullshit, but Steve knows he tried. He used to make her smile and laugh and her kisses were soft, they had softened him. And he’ll always be thankful for that, even as he fights off that urge to be bitter and petty.
Because it’s not easy to find the silver lining in pain, especially when he can’t escape it.
Especially when days have passed and it’s not his heart cracking open and bleeding, but his face, suffering for the first time from Billy Hargrove.
Billy, whose heart has been cracked open for a long time and forced back into place, with nothing holding its jagged edges together, desperately trying to look like he’s not falling apart – even though Steve can see it from a mile away.
It’s in his eyes. The blue is so dark, so expressive, even when he tries not to be.
Weeks after Steve’s face has healed and they’ve moved on, with a lingering tension between them whenever they meet in the hallway or whenever Steve catches the blond staring at him in class, they meet at the quarry after the sun has set.
It’s not planned, this sudden and secret meeting, but Steve still looks at the other boy in the moonlight and mutters a soft ‘hey’ from the hood of his car once Billy gets out of his.
Billy looks at him, for a moment. Walks silently over to Steve and fits himself in between those spread legs, sizes him up. He has a shiner under his left eye. It’s fresh. Steve wants to ask where he got it, but that tension that’s followed them all these weeks has reached its peak and Billy grabs the front of his shirt, pulls him so close that the tip of their noses brush.
And quietly, in the cool air, his words in a puff of frozen breath, Billy mutters, “You tell anyone about this and I’ll break your face again,” and kisses him.
Steve, numb from the cold and emboldened by the beer he’d been drinking, kisses back. Billy’s lips are warm and he tastes like a menthol cigarette, grabs at Steve in the way he’s been craving and needing as they makeout on the hood of his car, until he’s pulling them off and pushing them into the back seat of the Beemer.
There’s no apologizing, but that’s fine. Steve doesn’t mind. He doesn’t want Billy to apologize and he doesn’t want to apologize, either. What their minds can’t say, their bodies do, in the slow and sweet moments they manage to get together after that night.
They don’t date, according to Billy. He doesn't say it out loud, but he doesn’t want anyone to get close and Steve can see and understand it in the way Billy refuses kisses and doesn’t want to be held outside of sex.
But, he sees the unshed tears in those stormy eyes one January night and knows how desperately Billy is trying to not give in to the softness Steve offers him. He can feel how hard Billy grips onto him in his sleep. He feels how soft Billy eventually kisses him on a warm March night, just before the blond’s birthday, the warmth of his lips welcoming him in silently – a wordless agreement to see and be seen. An unspoken promise, maybe.
It’s a slow process – to love Billy. But, Steve is patient. Because whenever Billy lets him see those chips and cracks in his heart, that’s when Steve pours his gold into them, mending those breaks with his love. Because Billy is broken and they both understand that, but that doesn’t mean he’s a lost cause. Steve’s got a lot of love to give, even after the pain he’s felt. He’s hopeless.
But, Steve watches how his boyfriend’s smile begins to reach his eyes by the time June comes around and Billy’s sleeping over more, now that they’ve graduated. They grow closer as they plan their great escape to Chicago, whispering secrets at midnight and laughing and crying together as the days pass. Steve notices how the blond leans into his touch, seeking it out and, eventually, initiating it. And it’s beautiful that he cries openly and lets Steve hold him and sits with his emotions with him, for as long as Billy needs, while Billy does the same for him.
And one night, when his boyfriend is feeling low and vulnerable and hopeless, Billy hiccups from his spilled tears and asks Steve why he bothers and how he has the energy to care about him.
As if it’s a hard thing to do.
Laying together in his bed, Steve combs his fingers through Billy’s hair and tells him about the vase downstairs in the hall. How he’d broken it and it’d become stronger from that. He repeats his mother’s words about how a broken thing can be made stronger with the right care – he tells him that it’s kintsugi.
And Billy, sobbing, gives him a saltwater kiss full of gratitude and understanding.

Random question.
Ok i finally did a deep lore dive into why Horror is the way he is, and given he has the red eye due to His Undyne taking his old magic eye, and forcing him to steal the eye of a guard...
What do you think would happen, if someone tried to give Horror back a magic eye? would it just over lap the red one that has more or less settled into his body, would he be slightly more crazy due to power that he had lost habit of controlling. Would he just come off as a Crazy Classic Sans?
What is your take?
I have a deep theory that is brought out more by the authors note on page 84 on their deviantart post of the comic. There's a mention that the only way to get to the core's core is to dismantle it. In other words, there's a machine called the core, and then a core to that machine. The core's core. I think Sans eye fused with the core's core and I don't think Sans was truly able to destroy the machine once that happened, at least the core's core pare. I also don't think he tried to destroy the machine out of revenge only, just as eating fallen humans is more than revenge towards Undyne/Humans. He was going to tell Undyne something about the core before the incident, but she wasn't listening. (Probably something about combining all monster magic to power the core just like combining all monster souls will create the equivalent power of 1 human soul) I think his eye fusing with the core's core was not a good thing.
Why is it keeping him alive? That's what the guard said afterwards. Why does the guard start screaming about destroying the eye once it's put into the machine? What is the eye doing? If the eye was keeping him alive, why didn't he die when the machine was destroyed? So is the eye still active? Why was the eye so creepy at the end?
I do think that he'd exchange his eye if he could, but it's his' original eye's connection to the core that's the issue. He'd just pull the red eye out if he got ahold of his old eye (Or maybe someone else's...) I think the second eye he puts in his skull is just a replacement for him, and his change from Sans to Horror Sans was more than just his head getting cracked open and his eye stolen. And uh, I'm hoping more of this is elaborated on before I get far enough in my comic that he shows up, because right now I'm using that theory in my future plan...

It wasn't every day that you had the motivation to clean, but today was one of those days. Taking advantage of the free time you had now that the semester was over, you managed to clean the pile of laundry that had built up in the corner of your room and change the sheets of your bed. Of course you couldn't do this in silence so you had your little radio blasting to drown out your thoughts.
♫ Only so many tears you can cry 'Til the heartache is over And now you can say your love Will never die ♫
Your voice filled the tiny dorm room while you folded your freshly washed laundry as one of your favourite songs played. You hummed the rest of the melody before it faded out.
♫ One love, feeds the fire One heart, burns desire I wonder who's crying now? Two hearts, born to run Who'll be the lonely one? I wonder who's crying now? ♫
Before the next song began, your cleaning frenzy was interrupted by a knock on the door. Sighing, you got up to find the student who lived down the hall from you, Alex.
"Here," Alex shoved a single letter in your direction, "They lumped your mail into mine again"
"Thank you" You said with a smile, but Alex was already heading back down the hall.
Sitting down on the bed, you scanned the letter to see who it was from. You rarely ever got letters from your parents, so it couldn't be them. The return address was to Steve's house, which puzzled you again. Why would Steve be sending you a letter? As you continued to scan the letter, your heart skipped a beat. Recognizing Eddie's handwriting on the envelope, you clued in that he was the original sender, Steve was just the one who had to send it out to you.
You ripped open the letter instantly. It had been months since you last spoke with Eddie, and for someone you were trying to get over, he was still a constant thought in your mind. Everyone around you said you'd get used to being without him, but you honestly never did. Every now and again, you caught yourself fantasizing about how things would be when you met again. What you would say. What you guys would do. You missed him a lot and even started to wonder if running away was the right thing to do, but you really did enjoy your classes, so it had to have been, right?
Taking a deep breath, you emptied out the contents of the envelope, revealing a handwritten letter.
For Y/N
It's been a while, hasn't it? I can't really remember a time where we didn't talk to each other… well, there was the graduation incident of '84, but that was not as long as this.
A smirk formed on your lips as you lightly chuckled remembering this time. Back then, a week felt like a long time, but now it's been over six months and you can't stop worrying about how Eddie was doing. Life wasn't the same without his contagious laughter and comforting presence. Making friends at college wasn't as easy as you expected. Many students already had their cliques, knowing each other from school and growing up in the town together. Being from out of state there were no predetermined cliques for you, leaving you as an outcast much like high school did. This made you miss Eddie even more.
You continued to read the letter.
I really hope that wherever you are, you're doing well. First off, I'm incredibly sorry for holding you back from doing the things you dreamed of and keeping you in bumfuck, Indiana for two more years when you could have been in college partying it up with your sorority sisters. I sure hope none of those sleazy frat boys have bothered you.
This earned a chuckle from you.
Anyways, I guess I don't say it enough, but I am eternally grateful for you, for everything you've done for me. For sitting through countless shitty band practices and being Corroded Coffin's #1 fan. We really miss your merch selling skills, nobody seems to sell as much as you did. Thank you for helping me with Hellfire Club, even though I know you weren't that interested in Dungeons and Dragons. Most importantly, thank you for your patience with me. There is no way I would have gotten through school without you. How the hell you managed to not completely lose your mind with me, I don't know. I commend you.
I don't know either, Ed you thought to yourself
I don't really know what else to say other than I really miss you, Y/N. A lot has happened since you left. Nothing I really want to talk about now, but I really wish you were here.
Whenever you're ready, though, you know where to find me.
Love Always,
Eddie
I miss you too. Your heart sank a bit, worried about what he meant by 'a lot' happening. You continued to get your chores done in silence, the words Eddie wrote ringing in your ears.
What had happened while I was gone? You thought to yourself, Should I go back?
With classes being over, you had time to go visit although you hadn't planned on going back any time soon. The feeling you had was conflicting so you decided to get some insight from Steve. You made your way to the payphones in the dorm's lobby. Fiddling with the change in your hand, you carefully placed the coins through the slot and dialed Steve's number, praying that he was home.
"Hello?" Steve's voice was on the other end.
You were relieved.
"Hey, Steve" Your fingers toyed with the cord of the phone nervously, "It's Y/N"
"Y/N!" He exclaimed, clearly happy to hear from you after a couple weeks without contact, "How did exams go?"
With all that was on your mind, you were impatient to small talk, "Fine, I need to ask you about something though."
"Woah, someone's grumpy, what's up?"
"Eddie," You mumbled, "How is he doing?"
"You got the letter, huh?"
"Mhm…"
"Well, since I moved out of town I don't really see him a lot, but I did see him a couple weeks ago at a gig," Steve huffed, "He was beyond drunk. I guess the rockstar life has really gotten to him."
Your heart stopped beating for a moment hearing what Steve had to say. Eddie was never really one to drink, he mainly just smoked.
"Ahh," You managed to choke out, thinking about what could have happened for him to be drinking that much.
The same thoughts ran through your mind over and over. Obviously, Eddie needed you, but what for. He has Janie. He wants to spend the rest of his life with her, isn't her presence be enough? After all, you're just his lovesick best friend who ran away from him when your feelings became too much to handle. If you were him, you would respect the distance needed and let them reach out when they're ready even if something had happened.
"I'm sorry for sending you the letter," Steve was apologetic, "I know you probably didn't want to think about him, but I took a chance that it might've been a positive thing."
"It's fine," You spoke quietly, "I never really stopped thinking about him anyways."
"So what are you going to do?" Steve began, "Are you gunna come back and visit him?"
There was a pause before you spoke up again, "I wasn't planning on it, my parents wanted to visit me instead."
"I get it," Steve chuckled, "There is definitely nothing fun to do over in Hawkins except drink and watch paint dry."
"Exactly..."
There was another pause.
"It's okay if you want to go back, y'know."
You nodded, trying to hold back tears, "Yeah… I know…" Your voice wavered, "I just don't think I'm ready right now."
"That's okay too," Steve reassured, "Take all the time you need, I'm sure he'll understand."
You and Steve said your good-byes, hanging up the phone. Heading back to your dorm room, you were tense as you held back your tears.
Once back in your dorm, you flopped onto your bed and buried yourself beneath the thin duvet. A tear streamed down your face. Then another. And another. You had wanted to go back since the day you left, but you kept strong for so long. It became easier as time went on, but he was still a thought on your mind every day. Knowing that Eddie isn't doing well now, though, tears you apart.
How bad could things really be?
Should I go back?
Am I ready?
You shook your head in an attempt to get all these thoughts out of your mind. You were frustrated, wishing Eddie never sent the letter in the first place. The more the thoughts raced, the more you realized you weren't ready to face him again. Your heart hurt, but now, going back was all you could think about.
He needs me, he clearly needs me.

Sunny Day Jack x Reader:
I Never Forgot
What if you were one of the few people who remembered vividly about Sunny Day Jack... even after the whole show seemed to have been forgotten?
☀️Rating: Fluffy
🌈 Part 2 | 🌈 Part 3
❤💛💙❤💛💙❤💛💙❤💛💙❤💛💙❤
As a child growing up, you watched The SunnyTime Crew Show. You were 3 or 4 years old then, and you would watch every episode whenever they came out. Sure, there were plenty of interesting characters, but one that stood out to you was Sunny Day Jack. The blue haired clown was your favorite, the best friend you always wanted, and you wanted to meet him in person. At the time, money was tight, so that was one crushed childhood dream. The other was when there were no more episodes of The SunnyTime Crew Show being released. You had asked but no answers were given. You cried that one night (a few days after the incident); you felt like you had lost a best friend, and all the drawings and paintings you did hurt your little heart that you put them away in a box of memories. Jack was gone, but not forgotten...
❤💛💙❤💛💙❤💛💙❤💛💙❤💛💙
❤💛💙PRESENT DAY ❤💛💙
You're now at a threft shop, looking for clothes that wouldn't remind you of your ex, Ian. As you picked up some random stuff that fell over, you didn't notice a VCR tape that fell in your basket. As you were checking out, you were about to object to buying it, but decided that it wasn't worth 25 cents over. What could've been on the tape?On it was written '84- Incident'. Bells went off in your head seeing the year... A memory or something was trying to resurface... Borrowing a VCR player, you popped in the tape.
The static on the TV continued for a moment until you heard... a voice... saying,"Hello?" Bells went off in your head again as you stared at the static screen. That voice... it sounded familiar. Just then a shape formed through the jagged lines of the TV screen. It looked... human... And it was coming closer.
"Who... are you?" The voice said. Your heart started to beat faster. You felt like you were in a horror movie. You wanted to back up and run away, but you were frozen with fear. Your chest tightened as your flight or fight response kicked in. "You seem nice... Do you want to be my friend?"
The figure then... came through the screen as if it was climbing through a window. You wanted to scream but it was stuck in your throat. You choked on it. The figure then stood... they were tall. The scream then finally made its way out of your lungs as you bumped into the coffee table.
"Oh, gosh. Are you okay? I didn't mean to scare you, Sunspot." the figure said in a concerned tone.
Sunspot? You remembered... him always calling you Sunspot... As your eyes adjusted to the dimness of your living room, you could see that he (you assumed) had... blue hair? You also caught glimpses of his primary colored clothes... A memory was triggered. Everything was put together like a puzzle. No... this couldn't be?
"Jack... Sunny Day Jack?"
"You... know me?" He looked surprised.
"Yeah... I used to watch your show all the time as a kid. But... how... why...?" You had so many questions that you wanted answered. You were a ball of wound up emotions right now. You didn't know what to feel right now.
Jack cleared his throat, trying to change the subject to something simpler. "I'm sorry for bring rude, but I didn't get your name..." he said with a small chuckle and a smile.
"It's... y/n."
"Y/n. That's a nice name. Do you want to be my new best friend, Sunspot?"
He reached his hand out toward you for a handshake. At this moment, you strangely felt like a kid again. You were meeting Sunny Day Jack... in person (or the closest thing, at least). His cheery voice drew you in, like it did those many years ago. You took his hand in a firm handshake. "Sure." That was the last thing you remember before blacking out.

Signalis, Authority, and History
There's a level of nuance to how Signalis presents the violence of the authority of the nation that doesn't call attention to itself but which I really appreciate. Which is basically just, all the officers and cops and spies who make life hell for people like the Gestalt mine workers, Ariane, and the Itou family--we get little glimpses into who they are in Adler and Kolibri's diaries and despite the propaganda and the authoritative tone they take in official communications, for the most part they don't seem to actually be particularly invested in the hard line of national ideology. They uphold it though, viciously, both because things were worse under imperial rule (we don't get hard details on what it was like but it's mentioned in passing enough that I believe it) and because they're scared that if they don't they will be decommissioned and easily replaced. They are literally stamped out of a production line after all. There's a subtext of well, if I don't do it my replacement will anyway and I'm not trying to die so what's the point of rocking the boat?
I think Kolibri stands out to me most clearly on this because in communications from the block warden regarding Ariane there is emphasis put on how it is unacceptable and suspicious that she should be so interested and invested in art and literature that does not serve the purpose of furthering the goals of the nation. But we know that Kolibris themselves are bookworms, Adlers are fiends for stimulating experiences, and both get miserable FAST when deprived of art and puzzles and entertainment and hobbies. Y'know, just like anyone. Far be it from being a paragon of The Nation only interested in productive labor, we are reminded that the block warden, too, hates this shitty town and wants to transfer but is denied. They're hypocrites, but not monsters, nor brainwashed puppets of the state.
The monstrousness at play is not contained within any particular subset of evil individuals, or even an inherent universal force of evil contained in the broad notion of The Nation. There is no cosmic evil force that makes them all do these things to each other. The monstrousness is within the social systems, the mechanisms of how authority perpetuates on a structural procedural level, held in place by fear and tangible threats of violence, each link in the chain restraining the next through those threats out of fear that if they don't, then they'll be next. Regardless how many, if any, of those people in this chain are true dogmatic hardliners, they must act as such because failing to do so opens them up to danger.
Here then I think of the quote that is so prominent, "Great holes secretly are digged where earth’s pores ought to suffice, and things have learnt to walk that ought to crawl", from Lovecraft's The Festival. This is not just a chilling abstract visual that conveniently evokes a mineshaft-- in Lovecraft's story, this line refers to worms which ate the decomposing bodies of wizards whose wretched souls had remained after death, complete with the terrible powers they gained through contracts with demons. Those worms inherited both their power, and also the evil. The Nation, despite having overthrown the Empire, is built on imperial technology, in particular Replikas and bioresonance. So too, then, we can imply that The Nation inherited with those things some of the monstrousness of The Empire as well. There is no end of history, nor clean break with the past, no matter how violently it may seem to be rejected. That which remains from the past--and something inevitably always does--creates the present.
This is a game that is not shy about evoking East Germany. And I think all of this provides a sophisticated picture of repressive authority that we rarely see in fiction of the English speaking world, especially in games. The year the S23 incident takes place is notably 84, but, frankly, I find this to be more compelling and illustrative than 1984 (and I'm a librarian and have taught English classes so I get to say that). Orwell, let's be honest, presents a fairly one dimensional picture of authority, where people seize power and wield it against others out of seeming mustache twirling evil or malice.
Here though we get a more humanistic view. Authority did not come from nowhere and is not wielded arbitrarily out of gleeful cruelty or mindless brainwashed allegiance. People aren't "just following orders". Individuals have rich inner lives. They make decisions, and those decisions are based in the context they're in. Even the decision to carry repressive tools of the past into the present is a decision that was made strategically with the big picture in mind. Nobody woke up and decided to be evil that day. Everyone operates on self interest, and, we must assume, an earnest desire for things to get better. Even the [spoiler] program which served as an inspirational demonstration of The Nation's power, you can imagine the chain of officers and bureaucrats who genuinely wanted the people of the nation to believe in the future, to confidently trust that everyone was working together towards something great and beautiful. And, through a long chain of those people who couldn't say "No" without being decommissioned, we ended up with something unbelievably cruel.
We get to know Adler and Kolibri and the other officers not to say well they're human too, maybe it wasn't so bad that they condemned all those people to agonizing suffering, but to remember that if we keep looking for true monsters we will not find them. There are no monsters and there are no demons. There are only people making decisions. A better world is possible. A better world, where Adler is just a paper pusher who does puzzles after work instead of signing papers to authorize torture, where Kolibris are librarians instead of spies and cops, where EULEs can gossip and play piano and ARARs can do maintenance on facilities that don't contain torture rooms, is one that would not have led to the Ariane and Elster's tragic cycle and ultimate end.
Authority and its attendant cruelty is not contained, radiating forth from The Great Revolutionary and Her Daughter, it is within the social systems of control. When those two women die, that cruelty will continue so long as those social systems continue. Like Lovecraft's worms, no matter how long dead the evil of the past is, so long as it continues to be fed upon, that evil will not only remain, but evolve into something new in the present. A better world can't be achieved through the death of the old world alone, even if violent overthrow is warranted. There is no end of history. There is no clean break from the past.
"Men make their own history, but they do not make it as they please; they do not make it under self-selected circumstances, but under circumstances existing already, given and transmitted from the past. The tradition of all dead generations weighs like a nightmare on the brains of the living."
Karl Marx, The Eighteenth Brumaire of Louis Bonaparte

2023 24H of Le Mans - All you need to know
Tumblr media
It's almost time for Le Mans! Tomorrow it's test days and next week we're racing!
This year we see the 91st running of the oldest active endurance race in the world. Its inaugural race was in 1923 which means this year its it’s 100th anniversary, this means it’s the Centenary Edition. the 24 Hours of Le Mans is recognised as the most prestigious and gruelling test for innovations and improvements in motorsport technology.
It’s not only a special edition because of the 100th anniversary, but also because we’re seeing the most cars in the top class in a while. 16 cars will take the start, representing the biggest manufacturers in the world; Ferrari, Porsche, Toyota, Cadillac, Peugeot & Glickenhaus.
Because it’s the Centenary edition, we have a special trophy for the overall winner as well. The 24 Hours of Le Mans, has sealed a partnership with the Monnaie de Paris. The oldest institution in France has thus created a unique Trophy, which will be awarded to the winner of the 2023 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Before the race it has travelled the world to places such as Goodwood, The International Concours of Elegance St.Moritz, Bahrain and more.

History
You might know Le Mans for the running starts. A type that has been used for many types of racing. When the start flag dropped drivers had to run across the track to their cars, climb in, start the car and drive away.
Those kinds of starts were obviously rather unsafe. Drivers would rush to fasten their seat belts to get as fast of a start as possible. This was the reason why it was banned in English racing from 1962.
In 1969 Jacky Ickx decided to walk to his car instead of run, and then took the time to fasten his seat belt. This meant he effectively started last but he still ended up winning the race. In this same race, a driver named John Woolfe died on the first lap after he hadn’t secured his seat belt properly.
This meant it was abolished the following year. Nowadays this type of standing start is only used in Endurance Motorcycle racing. Nowadays at Le Mans, a rolling start is used where cars line up alongside each other at a slow pace and start to race once the green flag is dropped.
The 24H of Le Mans has a rich history, but not a very pretty one in some parts. Back in 1955 one of the biggest tragedies in motorsports occurred. On the straight around the pit wall a huge collision occurred. Usually referred to as the 1955 Le Mans disaster, 84 people died and over 120 were injured. For many countries this meant an immediate ban on motorsport, though a lot of those bans were lifted within a year.
One country, that did not lift the ban, is Switzerland. In 2009 a proposal to lift the ban was defeated by the Swiss Parliament but in 2015 the ban was relaxed for electric vehicles only. Which meant Formula E could race on the streets of Switzerland, even though the ban was technically still there. Now in 2022, at the end of May the ban was finally lifted and motorsport is allowed again in Switzerland.
Please proceed with caution, the Wikipedia page includes one uncensored picture of the incident. The BBC documentary includes footage and pictures and the Reddit post does not include any pictures or videos but does link to the them.

The Track
The track that is currently used is 13.6 kilometers long. It combines the permanent Ford Chicanes, pit straight, under the Dunlop bridge and through to tetre rouge as well as normal everyday roads of the Mulsanne straight through to Indianapolis and Arnage.
The track used to have a 6km long straight where Group C prototypes could reach up to 400km/h. This was changed in 1990 as the FIA required the track to have a straight no longer than 2km to be sanctioned. This is why nowadays two chicanes can be found on the Mulsanne straight. The fastest lap ever on the track was driven by Kamui Kobayashi with a 3:14.791 in 2017.
Tumblr media
If you have the time, try to get familiar with the corner names as that’s often how commentators will refer to them.
Tumblr media
T1, T2 etc stands for turns 1, 2 etc.
MP1, MP2 etc stands for the Marshall posts. This is important as yellows are often located by race control under the marshall posts.
Points
The race is part of the World Endurance Championship and this means there are also points to score for that championship. The winner of the race will receive 50 points, meaning this race means a lot in the championship.

Women at Le Mans
All credit for the info in here goes to Twitter user @smokingpuppy841 he created these two threads: Women at Le Mans & Why Women Were Banned at Le Mans
This year Lilou Wadoux is one of the women to compete at the 24H of Le Mans. in 2021 year she turned heads when she managed to completely destroy the field in one of the support series at Le Mans. In the French Porsche Sprint Challenge, she beat the field in qualifying by several seconds and then went on to win the race by a huge margin. Within just five years she went from racing in a Peugeot 206 to racing in a World Championship.
Last year she raced in LMP2 but for this year she switched to GTE as she has become a Ferrari Factory driver. This season she already took a win and hopes to do so again at Le Mans.
In 1930 Marguerite Mareuse and Odette Siko become the first women to compete at Le Mans, they finished 7th overall and second in their class.
Tumblr media
Odette Siko also finished 4th overall in 1932 and took the win in her class which makes her the best finishing woman at Le Mans. In 1935 a record of 10 women competed at Le Mans, Anne-Cécile Rose-Itier was the best placed of them when she finished 18th overall and third in class.
Unfortunately in 1957 women were prohibited from participating. In 1956 Annie Bousquet, who was known as a spectacular but risky driver, tragically lost her life in the 12 Hours of Reims. As well as driving, Bousquet was also responsible for the preparation work, which involved picking up the car the day before and driving it 500km through the night to the race.
She started the race, but unfortunately, tragedy unfolded when her car would roll on lap 17 after it lost a wheel. She broke her neck and passed away immediately. Following the 1955 disaster which nearly ended motorsport, the ACO were very nervous about another accident. These nerves were only heightened by another tragedy at the 1957 Mille Miglia which saw the Italian government intervene to prevent a repeat.
These worries, combined with Bousquet’s reputation as a risky driver, meant they banned women from the event. A woman hadn’t even competed at Le Mans since 1951, which madethe ban, kind of pointless. The ban was eventually lifted in 1971 and this yearwe will see 5 women at the start again. Rahel Frey, Sarah Bovy and Michelle Gatting share a car in the GTE Am class while Lilou Wadoux also drivers in the same class. Doriane Pin drives in the LMP2 class.
All the women competing at Le Mans this year have already taken a podium in the regular season. While Lilou Wadoux even took two with a 2nd and 1st place. Expectations are high as all these women have the pace to win their respective classes.
Qualifying
Just like last year we will see the Hyperpole format. This sees a one hour session on Wednesday evening where all cars of all classes are allowed on track to set a time. The top 8 cars of all classes (Hypercar, LMP2, GTE AM) at the end of the session move on to the Hyperpole session on Thursday evening. This sets the top of the grid for each class. The remaining order is already decided by the one hour session on Wednesday. During the one hour qualifying session every team is allowed to nominate two drivers that can set a lap time.
Refuelling is forbidden during the Hyperpole.
For the LMGTE Am category, only a Bronze driver can participate in the Hyperpole.
Any car causing a red will have all or some laps deleted
Any car causing a red will not be allowed to rejoin the qualifying session

Regulations
Balance Of Performance
As both the Hypercar class and the GTE AM class have several manufacturers running in the class, there’s a balance of performance in place. BoP” was introduced by the FIA with the aim of achieving a level playing field for the different vehicle concepts.
After an initial grading by the FIA, the performance data of the vehicles are acquired during the races via telemetry in order to adjust the balance of performance. This data input is automatically analysed and incorporated into the “BoP”. The most frequently used means of adjusting the performance level is through adding or subtracting weight as well as increasing or limiting the engine output through a restrictor or boost.
Here’s a short video on BoP
Tyre Allocation
Down below you can see the tyre allocation for dry weather tyres. GTE Pro is crossed out as that class does not exist anymore. Wet weather tyres aren’t limited. This is tyres, not sets. This makes it 14 sets for LMP2 & Hypercar during the race for example. Meaning the tyres will definitely need to be double stinted at times.
Tumblr media
Drive Time
The maximum driving time for each driver is limited to 4h for any period of 6h. Every driver has to drive a minimum of 6H across the whole race or the team will be penalised. Every driver is only allowed to drive a maximum of 14H across the whole race.
What's a stint?
A stint is the time the car spends on the track between pit stops. So when tyred are “double stinted” at Le Mans, it means the driver didn't change their tyres during the last stop and only refuelled. Also allowed, is only changing two tyres on the car.
Safety Car Rules
The safety car rules for this year's race have been completely revised. These changes have been made in hope of having less influence on the race. As previously being caught by the wrong safety car could loose the teams a lot of time.
However, these new rules could be a disadvantage for the class leader as it does bring cars closer together. Some critisicse these new rules as they will “manufacture battles at the front.”
When the order is given to deploy the Safety Cars, all marshal posts will display waved yellow flags, and “SC” boards. Pit exit will be closed, and the pit exit light turned red, while the pit entry will remain open.
There will be 3 safety cars, starting from their respective positions, (as can be seen on the track map below). They will join the track regardless of where the overall leader is. All the competing cars must then form up in line behind the Safety Cars no more than five car lengths apart.
Tumblr media
Pit exit green light will be turned on after the last car in line behind a Safety Cars has passed Safety Car Line 2, to allow all cars at pit exit to rejoin the track at an appropriate speed until they reach the queue behind that Safety Car.
When the Race Director deems it is safe to proceed with the merging process, the race control message ‘Incident clear – Prepare for Merging’ will pop up. This is followed by the Pit entry being closed Then safety Car B and Safety Car C will proceed to turn on their green lights, then cars which were positioned behind Safety Car B and Safety Car C will overtake their respective Safety Car and will continue as quickly as possible without compromising safety and without overtaking between themselves until they reach the line behind Safety Car A.
Once this is done, a pass around will be started. Any car that has their class leader behind them in the safety car queue will be allowed to pass the safety car.
After this the drop back procedure starts, first in line are the LMP2s. Race control will notify “Drop Back LMP2”, then all LMP2 cars will pull to the right-hand side of the track, then the rest of the cars, will overtake them to take position behind the Safety Car. Then the LMP2 cars will join the line again.
Once this is done, race control will notify “Drop Back LMGTE”. LMGTE cars will drop to the right side just like the LMP2s did. The rest of the cars will overtake them to take position behind the SC.
Once this is done it means that all Hypercars are together at the front, followed by all LMP2s and then the GTEs.
This wave around procedure won't be used in the last 60 minutes of the race.
Red Flag Rules:
During red flags it is not allowed to work on the car, only if allowed by the race director for safety reasons teams are allowed to change the tyres.
Slowzones:
To not immediately neutralize the complete field in case of an accident or debris. There's slowzones in place. The track is divided into 9 zones, when a slowzone is active cars will have to adjust their speed to 80 kph.
It is possible to have several slowzones going on at the same time. For example when an accident happens on the border of a slowzone, it is likely both zones will be deployed.
Penalties:
Speeding in the pitlane during Practice or Warm Up results in a fine of 100 euros for each kph over the limit. Besides that the driver's lap times leading up to the infringement are deleted. During the race the 1st infringement will result in either a drive through (between 60 and 70kph) or a 5 sec stop & go penalty (70kph+). The 2nd infringement will result into another drive through (between 60 and 70kph) or a 10 sec stop & go penalty (70kph+). The third infringement will result into a dsq in both cases.
It is prohibited to spin the wheels when a car leaves its pit, this will result into a stop & go. Aside from that refuelling may only be done when the car is completely on the ground which means tyres can't be changed during refuelling.

Media Guide to WEC
Might seem like a weird one to link but it’s really interesting to read. It goes into further depth about classes, and talks about previous winners etc
Entry List
R/WEC Scratchpad - This is the landingspage, you'll be able to find the scratchpad for practice & qually and for the race here
By this you’re able to catch up on any missed action, penalties and retirements. Obviously it’s difficult following a 24H race in its whole so this is a great way to catch up.
The Classes
The WEC grid consists of three different classes during the complete season, those are Hypercar, LMP2 & GTE. However for Le Mans two subclasses join the race. Neither of those score points for the championship (LMP2 Pro/Am & Innovative Car/Garage 56)
Each class has its own driver requirements, meaning both Amateur drivers and Pro drivers will be on track together.
Hypercar
Tumblr media
Red number board with “Hypercar” next to it.
The current top class in endurance sportscar racing is “Hypercar”. This combines cars built to the LMH (Le Mans Hypercar) and LMDh (Le Mans Daytona h) specifications.
The ultimate aim of the ACO, FIA and IMSA is for these two types of car to compete against each other in the FIA WEC and in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and, therefore, to race in both the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Rolex 24 at Daytona.
LMH (Toyota, Ferrari, Peugeot, Glickenhaus & Vanwall)
These regulations leave scope for a wide variety of architectures and allow a front-axle hybrid system to be fitted. They are designed to a strict set of requirements dictating maximum power, drag coefficient, and weight.
LMDh (Porsche & Cadillac)
In LMDh, the backbone of the car – i.e. the whole car minus the internal combustion engine, the body and the hybrid system – will be supplied by one of four chassis manufacturers: Dallara, Multimatic, Ligier or Oreca.
The driver line ups in this class consist of only pro drivers, with all drivers rated platinum or gold. Technically, lower rated drivers are allowed in the class, but that’s not likely to happen.
LMP2
Tumblr media
Blue number board with “P2” next to it.
The LMP2 class features a spec drivetrain and gearbox, using a Gibson V8 producing 400kW, and a selection of three chassis to choose from, of which the Oreca 07 has been the chassis of choice. So much, that every single LMP2 car on this year’s entry list is an Oreca
Driver’s line-ups have to consist of at least one Bronze or Silver driver. When one of the drivers is bronze rated a car is automatically scored in LMP2’s sub class “LMP2 Pro/Am”
A Pro/Am car is easily recognised by the “Pro/Am” sign under the car number
Tumblr media
GTE AM
Tumblr media
Orange number board with “AM” next to it.
This is the last year we’ll see the GTEs at Le Mans as next year the GT clash switches to GT3 cars.
Although there is no Pro category, the driver quality in GTE-Am is still incredibly high. The grid features factory drivers, young stars, experienced champions, and every level of experience in between. Each car features one Bronze and one additional Bronze or Silver rated driver.
Innovative Car/Garage 56
Tumblr media
Black number board with “IC” below it.
Garage 56, is reserved for innovative cars. In recent years we’ve also seen a modified LMP2 car that allowed paraplegic drivers to race. The car was modified and fitted with a braking, clutch and throttle system controlled by a hand-controlled steering wheel.
Tumblr media
The Garage 56 entry runs outside the official classification, and will start last no matter where they qualify. This year it will host a Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 entered by the Hendrick Motorsports team for its maiden appearance at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
This is a heavily modified version of the Next Gen NASCAR that competed in the 2022 Cup Series. The car will be symbolically numbered #24 and driven by Jenson Button, former Formula One World Champion, Mike Rockenfeller, winner of the 2010 Le Mans 24 Hours, and Jimmie Johnson, a seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion.
Spotters guide
I used to make my own ones but there’s no use in making one myself when @GrosiakMateusz already makes perfect ones. You can find it on spotters.guide. The planned release date is June 6th.
Where to Watch?
Official stream OUTSIDE US ONLY - The Le Mans package gives you access to all WEC sessions (Practice, Qualifying, Warm Up and the Race) with a choice of on boards. It’s a rip-off quite honestly, it costs 13 euros and the platform is prone to crashing. If you’re buying I’d recommend just buying for the rest of the season, usually WEC will put up a discount code - PAID
Multiviewer F1 (Source) - The developer of this app says their goal is to get it ready before Le Mans. It will be integrated with FIAWEC.TV - PAID (Need FIAWEC.TV subscription)
Robin Frijns server, I will be streaming the WEC Coverage, all sessions from qualifying on Wednesday evening - FREE
Eurosport will likely be broadcasting the event in a variety of locales throughout Europe. This will be updated when confirmed - FREE WITH ADS OR PAID DEPENDING ON WHERE YOU WATCH IT
Radio Le Mans will be streaming live radio for every session (Including the test days) - FREE
For American audiences, unfortunately the Official stream is geoblocked for your area. American and English-speaking Canadian audiences can access coverage through Motortrend On Demand. Motortrend should have a free trial so you can try that if needed. - PAID (BUT FREE TRIAL)
Complete Broadcast distribution list
Live Timing
This is Official Livetiming it’s okay, but I recommend using the Timing71 Beta extension
As said the creator of Multiviewer F1 is trying to integrate WEC into the app as well, this would also likely include live timing. If there’s an update on that, i’ll post it.
I hope this is all, but for any questions, my askbox is always open!

bully positive zone
Tumblr media
pretty sure op turned off reblogs literally as i was researching & typing this so, making my own post:
some facts about pit bulls / similar bully breeds!
pit bulls account for about 1/3 of studied dog bites
they are also very common dogs and much more likely to be abused and neglected than other dog breeds
84% of violent incidents involve a dog that was abused or neglected
94% of violent incidents involve a dog that was an intact male, which experience significantly more aggression than neutered males
the breed standard temperament is confident, excited, eager to please, and extremely friendly toward humans, and the only ''typical'' aggression is against other dogs (which can be avoided with proper socialization). it is not normal for pit bulls to be aggressive toward humans
they are much less likely to be adopted, spending an average of 3x as long in shelters as other dog breeds, and are much more likely to be euthanized than other dog breeds. they are considered undesirable due to public stigma
(sources: 1, 2, 3, 4)
in this house we love bully breeds and hate stigma <3

Joesph paced back and forth in his room, running his hands through his brown and grey hair. When was the last time he slept or ate for that matter? He couldn't recall the days have been a blur since he found that stupid VHS tape.
Thrifting had become something Joesph found comfort in. When he felt he had enough, he went to the checkout already thinking about where to put everything. However, at the bottom of the basket was a single VHS tape. Which was odd cause he doesn't remember picking one up.
Picking it up, he flipped it over to be with "84 INCIDENT," crudely scribbled in red pen on the front. Joesph could feel a cold shiver run through his entire body. That year...he HATED that year.
"Are you gonna buy that, sir?"
startled Joesph's eyes met the bored cashier's "oh....um..." His arm moved automatically, putting the VHS tape on the counter.
Taking that as yes, the cashier sighs, scanning the item and putting it in the bag, followed by the receipt. "Have a good day"
With a quick nod, Joesph snatched the bag and quickly made his way to his car, then home not looking at the inside of the bag once. Not even when he got home, opting to leave it on the couch as he tried to distract himself.
However, no matter how much he tried, he couldn't sleep. He would toss and turn with thoughts of that VHS tape swarming his thoughts.
So finally, after hours of trying to sleep, he finally got up and made his way to the living room. He stood in front of the couch, staring at the bag, holding the thing, causing so much anxiety for him.
With slow and shaky movements, he finally opened the bag. However, as soon as his hand touched the cold plastic of the VHS tape, he yanked it out of the bag as if it would catch fire at any moment.
'How bad could it be? It's just a video tape....' Joesph sighed as his head went back 'famous last words.'
With hesitant steps, he made his way to his TV before crouching down and putting the VHS into his old player. 'Maybe if I'm lucky, it's broke....or won't work'.
After it was in, he went back to his couch, grabbing the remote from the coffee table. With shaky hands, he pressed play, his eyes glued to his screen.
At first, it was static, but the longer he looked, the better he could make something out. A field? a Bakery? and.... as he sees the picture the more his heart begins to race. He knew that set from anywhere.
Not long after, he faintly makes out a voice. One that he hadn't heard in years l since their passing. "Oh, starlight.....it's been so long. I've missed you." Then everything went dark.
.
When Joesph woke the next morning, he was still on the couch with the smell of something sweet filling the air. He didn't remember trying to bake anything or order anything for that matter.
With sleep still in his system, he groggly got off the couch and stretched a bit before hearing a satisfying pop. 'What was I doing last night? and why was I on the couch?'
He yawned as he trudged his way to the kitchen, half determined to find out where the smell was coming from. When he round the corner, he wakes up quickly.
There bent down to take out some freshly made muffins was the one person he knew he would never see again.
You.
The love of his life who died in his arms on set after stepping in front of him at the wrong time.
The reason why he HATED that year. and why he quit acting. Why he stays up late a night plaqued by nightmares of that day. Why he hated himself and Jean every day.
You stood up, turning to him with the same bright smile you had all those years ago. "Good morning, love! I made you some breakfast."
This....
This had to be some sick joke or nightmare.
It had to be.

MCD Little Details and Plot Points I Forgot pt. 2
Season one, around episode 84 to 94?
(basically my thoughts and notes about the series)
• Garroth says that he’s feels as though Laurance is like his brother and he was never able to experience this type of relationship with his own brothers (although he only mentions Zane so it makes me wonder if Jess hadn’t made Vylad his brother yet, or if talking about Vylad is too painful for Garroth.)
• Also, in my headcanon I feel like Garroth is developing feelings for Laurance and he tries to rationalize it as brotherhood. I feel like the monarchy that O’Kasis basically is, most likely prioritizes continuing the bloodline. Maybe this just started as a way of continuing Esmund’s legacy/power but as O’kasis became more powerful and corrupt it became more about creating dynasty that wouldn’t end. So gay relationships are probably frowned upon and personally I feel like at this point Garroth hadn’t considered being in relationship with a man and wasn’t fully aware it was an option. For me, I headcanon him as bisexual so possibly Garroth knew he was attracted to women and never thought more about his sexuality choosing to ignore any other feelings he had for anyone other than women.
• Anyway, Garroth then states that he hates seeing Laurance in pain from the Hayden’s death and feels like it might be worse than when he’s a shadow knight. Aphmau, of course, disagrees with this.
• Laurance struggling with his emotions while he thinks Hayden is dead shows the mental turmoil he’s experiencing as he balances his emotions as shadow knight.
• Aphmau inspects the crime scene so Laurance doesn’t have to see it. :((
• Laurance accidentally calls Aph “love” when he was exhausted. :((
• Laurance is able to sense when Aph is in danger? It happens twice the first time when they save Candenza and then when Aph is attacked by Aaron. It seems he just knows something is wrong and then just shows up.
Which is interesting considering that he and Aph seem to just have a connection since he became a shadow knight. Honestly, Laurance might’ve had some sort of untapped magicks before he was turned. Like when Laurance was stuck in the nether his image or consciousness was projected into the overworld and caused Levin to levitate/walk. That seems to be abnormal for when someone becomes a shadow knight. Maybe through coping with his transformation Laurance unknowingly manifested a bond/connection to Aphmau with whatever magical capacity he had.
Or, the bond was created simply because Aph is the person who Laurance must kill in order to become a fully fledged shadow knight. So Laurance then has a heightened sense of Aphmau’s status and location. Which, ironically, serves Laurance in being a better protector of Aph.
Ooor, even simpler, Laurance just has heightened senses in general and he’s always making sure Aph is alright using them and the Levin incident earlier in the season is irrelevant.
• Aphmau and Laurance have that hug moment in the woods outside of Phoenix Drop where he asks to always be by Aphmau’s side and earlier asks to keep Cadenza’s gift a secret.
• Aphmau chooses to keep both of these things a secret from Garroth, which he probably realizes he’s not being told everything that happened on the trip. Then Laurance wears a helmet for a couple days out of embarrassment. So, Garroth most likely thinks more happened between them than actually did. His jealousy probably started to grow more from this trip and he started feeling like he was being left out.
• Laurance asks Cadenza to watch over Garroth when they think he’s sick. :((((
• Laurance immediately steps up as head guard when everyone thinks Garroth is sick and makes sure everything is okay.
• Dante eats breakfast with Zoey and the kids and that’s the first time he’s been in her house. (I’m surprised how short of a time Dante has been in the series by the time we reach the end of season one, like as a kid I remember it being so much longer than it actually was.)
• Aaron second act as a character in the series is to threaten Aphmau and the village. (I’m so sorry to the Aaron stans out there but I can’t stand his ass and I can see the vision Jess was trying to go for but his character development was just everyone outside of him acting out of character).
Like I love a good “enemies to lovers” trope but Aaron pointing a sword to Aphmau’s throat wasn’t that. When something like that usually happens it’s like omg they have so much tension and they cross swords a couple times then they have dramatic banter that lets you feel that they’re is something more to their relationship than “enemies.”
Instead, we have Aaron knocking Aphmau over then pointing a sword to her throat. Then he threatens to kill her because he assumes without knowing her that she’s a selfish lord and only lets her live because she also hates Zane. But, he forces Aphmau to not tell anyone he’s there or else she’ll be putting her entire village in danger. HE IS QUITE LITERALLY CAMPED A SHORT WALK FROM APHMAU’S HOUSE WHERE SHE AND HER CHILDREN SLEEP EVERY NIGHT. That’s awful, man. Jess acts this out by constantly touching her throat so it’s kind of reasonable to assume that if they weren’t blocks the sword was probably directly pressed to Aphmau’s neck. Like I know, Aaron really isn’t that bad and he wasn’t talking about HIM hurting the village. He was actually talking about other people who after the pendent and this would put the village in danger. But, as the viewer and someone who’s seen the series before I have that knowledge as an outsider. While Aphmau in that scene only has the knowledge that if she’s says something wrong or lets other people know he’s here it will put everyone in danger.
Like Laurance comes up to Aph immediately after it happens because he felt she was in danger. He says she looks pale, distressed, and asks her if she’s been crying!!! Aphmau was terrified for her safety. That’s not a good beginning to a romance in my book! If the scene was framed differently where Aph had some autonomy in that scene like maybe she defends herself from Aaron then they begrudgingly come to agreement that he can stay that would be different. But instead he demands that Aph doesn’t tells anyone or else she’s in danger along with her loved ones. Anyway, I dislike this scene and Jess probably would have retconned it if she got to that point in Rebirth.
• Moving on! Laurance checks her temperature and makes sure she’s okay. He even tells her that he can carry her home if she’s too tired. Then he even takes the wood that she gathered and finishes the task for her so she can go home to her boys!
• Then, Malachi immediately blows up and Zoey cries because she feels like she’s a bad mom (even though she’s quite literally raising Aph’s kids for her but Zoey’s got trauma so I get it.) Aphmau reminds her that’s she apart of the family and isn’t upset with her. I love them so much!

Sunny day Jack's ending predictions
The Happy Ending
Now, the happy ending is not the good ending. Jack and Mc will continue living as they do at the beginning of the game. They'll be happy, but never truly content, since their relationship is so manipulated by Jack.
2. Bad ending
Jack drags MC into the tape with him and they'll be together forever in limbo.
3.True End
Basically, the corpse bride ending. Jack realizes that if he truly loves MC he has to let them go. He finally is able to move on and part from this world. It's a bittersweet affair.
Edit:
4. Don't forget about me
So, MC's buddy/love interest Shaun is a film director, right? I think one of the storylines will be that he and MC investigate what happened to Jack and incident 84. Once they discover what happens, Shaun makes a documentary about it. Jack's wish is to not be forgotten. His death being covered up, and all of the information about him being erased might be what has turned him into a ghost. So MC and Shaun bringing the truth to light for everyone to see might set Jack free similar to Ending 3. (The difference is that in ending 3 Jack is content if it's only MC who keeps his memory in their heart)

Found Family Tournament Round 1 Part 17 Group 84
Propaganda and further pictures under the cut
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Seven Birds: Taako, Magnus, Merle, Lup, Lucretia, Davenport, Barry
Boys from the Dwarf: Arnold Rimmer, David Lister, Kryten and The Cat
Submissions are still open!
Seven Birds:
they literally spent a hundred years becoming a family and lucretia tried her best to protect the but they could only save the world after all of them had been reunited and they LOVE each other they deserve to win this whole thing
Boys from the Dwarf:
Listen. These guys actually canonically have nobody else, the entire rest of the crew of this spaceship died in a nuclear incident which TECHNICALLY was Rimmer's fault. Forced family. Lister is the last human alive, Rimmer is technically a ghost kept alive by technology, Kryten is a robot and Cat is a cat. They live on this massive spaceship yet still choose to spend all their time together, it has been like 30 years at this point. I cannot stress to you how they had the option to leave and go elsewhere in this ship the size of a city at any given time yet chose to stick together after 30 years. Every opportunity any of them has had to get off this godforsaken ship, they have turned down. They would do anything for eachother but also would leave eachother on a random planet without hesitation (and actually have done). They are best buddies, they even have a handsign/handshake.
They’re an unlikely crew but ultimately they’re all each other has. Dave wakes up from stasis as the last human alive and to keep him sane the ship’s computer brought his dead bunk mate back as a hologram. They don’t usually get along but after being all each other has they ultimately need each other and do care about each other. They’re just hard assess about it. Also on board is a humanoid being called The Cat, who is from a species that evolved from a cat that was smuggled on board the ship before the accident that killed the crew. He’s usually self-centred but even after finding his own species again he ultimately decides his home is with the boys from the dwarf. And then there’s Kryten, a service mechanoid with an over-active guilt chip that they rescued from a crashed ship along the way. They’re dysfunctional and complete opposites to each other in many ways, but they are always together in every parallel universe they come across. And even when they do separate to try to do their own thing, ultimately they always come back to each other. They’ll act like they all dislike each other at times, but ultimately if trouble threatens one of them then the rest will band together. Also their dynamic together is just extremely funny.
