thought I’d talk about my interpretation of unpleasant because yes (also I might make an ask blog about it)

Ok so lord timeee!! Content warning for some really sensitive topics (genocide, murder, prostitution, implied abuse, etc.) so watch out.

so unpleasant gradient (aka gradie) was born because his mother was a prostitute (so was his dad but much less so) and his fathers parents found out so they made him marry her, obviously that does shit and eventually when he turned 7 his father left and he was left along and u can kindddaaa imagine what happeneds when ur left with this type of mom whis also an alcoholic and smoker…yeahhh, so he gets two sibs (one if them is older the other is younger, same mom) pleasant gradient (older, named penny) and monotomous graident (younger, named mono) who took care of him when his mother escaped without him at 11 years old including a third sibling who used to take care of him when he was a toddler but ran away from home due to his mom (they were mutated gradient). (gradie has a shit ton, you can imagine why lmao) but he only sees it once and never again, so the three brothers have to survive the famine and genocide going around (it started before gradie was even born) but obviously u can imagine what happens in this typa scenerio (gradie had to almost say bye bye to half of his body bc of a bomb at 12 and watch penny die and mono run away then escape at 15 (the scars dwindled over time dw but it’s still there )) and then there is an opurtunity to escape the country with a bus, but theres only one bus ticket, so a random woman gives it to gradie and sends him off bc she knows he has the most potential and promises to find him (its been 45 years he still hasnt seen them) here’s art of what he looked like back then:

so after he escaped he rebuild his life in the land equivalent of AMERICUH and he attends this high school and he falls in love with builderman but decides not to confess and they both decide to graduate together and try getting it big, builderman did it by building the robloxia community and gradie byt writing his experiences with genocide and hiking high feets no one reached, like he won some guinness world record and some new york times bestseller thing- my guy was packed!!!…..until he got hit by a truck and couldnt do anything anymore (sad 💔) ON TOP OF THAT builderman married jane doe and had thier kid (infected) and graide would by to babysit infected since he was a wee little baby.

so kasper got infected at his 12th birthday. But the infected turns him into a vicious furry or whatever (werewolf if you want) and the first time that happened, he fucking ate his parents and gradie literally just came by to give them lasagna and infecteds present, so now his parents are dead, and graide decides to adopt infected (who hates it lol) and they just raise infected while tryna deal with his furry issue (his furry issue caused him to eat his own cat and some residents) and graide is just like tryna fucking hold himself together bc if the kid u had to babysit thats from ur one sided gay lover who married a fugly woman decides to kill yo one sided gay lover and u had to adopt him I wouldve eaten my organs)

ll 500 words ll ft. Levi comforting you after you show up filthy and bloody on the steps of the HOL ll angst/comfort ll x reader ll Asmo's version ll Belphie's version ll

Your first mess-up was awkward. None of the brothers had expected you to ever snap. But you did, and it was only natural. Living with literal demons only made the clock tick closer to your eventual sins.

It wasn't like you hadn't 'sinned' before, according to the vague moral lines that were set by human societies. You've sneaked items past check-outs, looked upon others with hatred, and lied to those with power. None of that makes you less human.

What you did however, was demon-worthy. You returned to the House of Lamentation with shame and the remaining anger, now mostly pointed at yourself. You didn't mean to break. You didn't mean to break anything. You didn't want to harm them.

Red-faced, with blood still dripping from your fingers, clothing drenched with however many liquids, you stood in front of them. There was no sound other than the drips, slowly creating a puddle on the ground. As the puddle grew, he was the first one to move.

Levi slowly but silently walked up to you. He was never one to speak first. He took your hand, soft and tender. A reminder that nothing has changed. You held back a sob and tried to stop the wetting of your eyes. He leaned closer to you and let out a quiet whisper: "You're okay.". Slowly, he turned to face his brothers, still grasping your hand. Without saying another word, he took you to his room. You followed him, only your occasional sniffing breaking the dead air.

Upon entering his room, he hurried to empty his bathtub. Pillows and blankets were flying everywhere, but he somehow managed to never let go of your hand. Having cleared the entire tub of that what made it comfortable, he turned to you again. You stopped avoiding his eyes once you noticed his disparity. They finally met, and a slight ease began to wash over the both of you. "You should get undressed." You could hear how much he cared in those words alone. No need for an explanation, no fear. He cared for your safety, but also trusts you to take your time. "You can put your clothes in this basket. We'll get them clean.". A small smile, filled with hope.

Levi had to let go of your hand while he turned on the water and the both of you undressed. He slipped in the tub before you, allowing you to sit in between his legs. There was no need for conversation. You sat there, only focused on his hands calmingly massaging the filth out of your hair. The water slowly turned darker as he made his way down to scrub your entire body, but neither of you mind. It could've been worse. You could've been gone entirely. You could've left him, all alone. Never to touch again. Never to talk again. He'd never get to laugh or hug or get trough awkward silence with you. He would've never been grateful for all the little moments with you. Moments like now, purely with each other. There was only here and now. Nothing in the past matters. There's comfort in knowing there still is a future with you.

on one hand, nobody is entitled to ai generated art because their disability prevents them from making it, because As It Stands Now, ai models are built off stolen artwork. there is not a SINGLE (publicly available at least) ai model trained off art that was willingly given to the model by the artist, and using the current models only helps exasperate this problem

on the other hand going "well i/this famous artist was disabled and THEY figured out how to make art, so its condescending to say that some disabled people CANT make art, and if ur disabled just figure it out :)" is the kind of rhetoric that time and time again hurts disabled people wrt the "well if THEY can do it, so can YOU" false dichotomy and really should not be used to make your point

& i say this as a disabled artist who absolutely does not like ai art, ESPECIALLY used in a commercial sphere. on paper it would be a fun Fucking Around Machine (esp if there was a bot trained on consentually aquired art) but capitalism requires every last scrap of revenue be squeezed out of anything like blood from a stone so we cant just have a fun thing to have a fun thing and we have shit things like it being a threat to peoples' liveliehoods and training it to mimic dead artists. and we cant really have the fun part without feeding into the bad part. what im saying is its a shame also maybe bootstrap theory is not good

#i will say i know of TWO really cool applications of ai generated stuff #1) before fhe whole ai thing took off an indie artist got an ai thing to generate some song lyrics #they then took the lyrics and played around w em #and made music around it and used a vocaloid to sing it #2) dude trained an ai model on his own art (makeup for ball jointed dolls) and got it to generate some faces #then painted his interpertation of its interpertation of his work #commentating on how the machine interperted parts of his dtyle #they both work imo bcos theres a very human aspect to it still #wrt the making of the whole resr of the song and the making of all the faces given to the model #and the painting of the genersted one #anyway this is what i thinj on the matter #ai art sucks dont use it. ive been tempted but i havent #but also that argument you hate suddenly doesnt become valid when yr the one weilding it

Hello, can I ask why do you think there are so many BL ships from BNHA and JJK? Do you also have fav ships from those two series?

I don't mean any negative things to any fan fics writers or fan art artist (thanks so much every one for sharing your hard works in the fandom).

But like, I'm a fan of both series for years now, and I saw them mostly as just platonic (bakudeku, tododeku, kiribaku, satosugu, itafushi, etc). Now, I'm not anti mlm or wlw because I love BL and GL media (manga, manhwa, books, tv series, etc), but I'm kinda hard to enter into shipping. Do you think I'm weird? Or maybe I'm slow in understanding the romantic subtext in those scenes from both series?

My take on it I guess is that people just love shipping characters together. Fandoms low-key thrive on shipping most of the time and especially when it comes to rareships. In my opinion any legal ship can work depending on how someone writes the story so there's that.

Iam not a huge shipper myself and if I do ship stuff I tend to be a multishipper prefering to enjoy multiple amount of contents that people make. MHA has horribly written ships point blank. Sure togaocha could of worked but it doesn't the same with BKDK. Any ships in MHA that were introduced as possibilities also lack any sort of development. This obviously doesn't stop people from shipping and developing their own ships (as they rightfully should) but canon wise there isn't much going for MHA

When it comes to Jujutsu kaisen akutami already acknowledged that he isn't that good at writing romance so he chooses not to excpet of already established ships like hakari x kirarka or tragic ships like mechamiwa. Even when it comes to that people do view stgs and itafushi as heavily romantically coded and I can see where theyre coming from as there is some heavy romantic subtexts.

Overall, Iam not much of a romantic shipper myself I just love platonic bonds and ships. For some reason I find that platonic ships and bonds are just better written and can connect with the audience a whole lot more easily and better compared to romance. Iam not much of a romance fan so I don't consume much of that side of media. Iam not sure if it's only me but stories centering around one ship get really boring for me whereas other stories that go out to critique stuff or explore ideas are more enjoyable.

Also no I really don't think you're weird I do somewhat relate to you tho.

I don't think MHA has any romantic subtexts however I definitely do see the Jujutsu kaisen romantic subtexts.

Writers usually give readers freedom to decide how they view things. Iam not much of a romance type of reader so I just like viewing a lot of things as platonic just because I think platonic relationships are overall stronger and better then romance ones

“Hey you still into bird watching?” - A thread on Betty Grof bird symbolism - crossposted on twitter!!!

I think about which birds Betty’s magic birds are and a couple come to mind. I’d personally like to think they’d change form to the following:

1.) Canaries- for a multitude of reason 1.) being that they’re some of the most similar in terms of size and shape minus the beak, but i did want to bring up the phrase “canary in a coal mine"

1a.) “⁃A canary in a coal mine is an advanced warning of some danger. The metaphor originates from the times when miners used to carry caged canaries while at work; if there was any methane or carbon monoxide in the mine, the canary would die before the levels of the gas reached those hazardous to humans.” In terms of interpretation i think thats rather clear about Betty’s fate in terms of being digested with GOLB though its a reach, something something caged within GOLB something something dying with him and becoming rebirthed

1b.) - Extra info. Canaries are song birds and individualists in nature EXCEPT when mating- possibly playing on Betty’s recluse nature with the exception of magic man and Simon/IK.

2.) Nightingales- ANOTHER bird that looks very similar to those animated, this time the beak and tail-feathers match quite well. Matching the color scheme (in terms of their bellies being brighter!) and are overall very similar in nature!

2a.) Their symbolism- nightingales have been associated with a variety of themes, including "creativity, the muse, nature's purity, and, in Western spiritual tradition, virtue and goodness." the nightingale is deemed to be ”a prime example of poetic invention occurring naturally” Though not intrinsically related to Betty herself, it could be a representation of her usage of magic and how she’s becoming less and less human, and more in tune with the nature of Ooo around her. Though birds are also associated with magic man…

2b.) “A nightingale sang in Berkeley Square” - who doesn’t love some music symbolism coupled with bird symbolism! The song itself is about the power of love, and how the “whole damned world seemed upside down” - could easily be a representation of Betty’s love for Simon :)

2c.) In more literal interpretations of the nightingale, its seen as a sign of coming striping, it’s song ushering new leaves after the winter. It’s referenced in Homer’s odyssey when a nightingale sings in the woods, spring has just begun (Odyssey 19.519). Spring is often seen as a time of change, "Every one thousand years, the Catalyst Comet mysteriously reincarnates itself and collides with Earth, bringing with it an Agent of Change." It could be interpreted as such, that her nightingales were the first signs of HER change. Though it’s a reach considering the airing date of the episode, unless it was foreshadowed like crazy. Which is totally fucking possible. Also! This next one is just for fun.

3.) Toucans - Though not at all similar in shape or size, toucans have a very interesting meaning, as well as a quote directly from Ice King himself. Also they are quite cute…

3a.) This clip [season 9, episode 3 “Bespoken For” part 2 of 8 of the elements specials], the SAME episode as “Betty's birds”- as Ice King is going “bird watching” he refers to Betty as a Toucan- as seen in the clip below.

It’s a one off line, because on ice kings bird list, a Toucan is one of the things he needs to check off. Not to mention his later reference to Betty as an exotic bird to life giving magus!

3b.) Though the Toucan has interesting symbolism, Toucans are regarded as a bird with a sacred eye, they’re seen as conduits between the worlds of the living and the dead. Which could again play into her role as GOLBETTY, because of GOLBETTY’s omnipotent nature. It could easily be implied that she’s a conduit, but less of matters of the living of the dead and more so in regards to the antiverse and the multiverse.
