One of my favorite underrated elements of Laios characterization is when he has a complex situation to navigate he does young joseph joestar level schemes. Most of the time the chapter's critter can be handled by knowing about it's biology,(if Laios isn't incapacitated or otherwise) but if it's more dire or against a person (or abstract concept), whew. Bro's out here doing flippy-dippies and predicting his opponent's mind games bc dude doesn't give a fuck except for his family, friends, and monsters.
Similar mindset to Joseph, the dude who pulls out a tommy gun to an impromptu vampire fight in 1940's NYC. Bro only cares about his loved ones and getting the upper hand in fights. It's a big part in why Part 2 is fun and compelling in spite of some of that part's faults.
I just point this out because not only does it add a fun character thing to Laios, it also helps add variety to the story. Another color to the author's palette.
Meet Magnolia Lopez a human being that is half PillarMan too. Her mother Melody was the music pillar and her father Javier was a gardener who found Melody in his shed. The two soon died afterwards trying to protect each other leaving Magnolia as a orphan who soon became a maid for the German army in Mexico studying the Pillarman known as Santana.
She was not aware of her pillar form out of anxiety when witnessing Santana attacking the soldiers and she had a reaction that was similar to the hulk and practically attacked the soldiers pointing guns at her. But Santana managed to calm her down before going to fight Joesph, she soon joins speedwagon and Joseph on their voyage to find Caesar. In the end of part 2 she ends up dating Santana. Her pillar form is quite taller than Santana, she’s about 7’0 feet tall.
in part 4 Jotaro explicitly mentions having to deal with Joseph's finances and will. like the dude can't even escape the mundane Joestar bs let alone the supernatural Joestar bs. his attitude makes sense.
Joesph would definitely be the type of person to say,“Shut ya ass up and get your ma’am mia lookin ass away from me!” to Caesar and would proceed to get his ass beat.
