//okay so. i think if someone wants to start watching jojo and they want to start at a certain part, they can. i also do not give a hoot about part skipping. the other parts aren’t going to magically grow legs and walk away because you didn’t see them first. are there bits and pieces from other parts that would make some sense with previous context? yes. do you need to it to fully understand the part you’re reading and or watching? no. will you still get that context if you watch a previous part afterwards? yes.

parts in jojo are literally just their own story with a few mentions of stuff from other parts. HOWEVER if someone is hearing or reading something mentioned in a previous part, I’d like to assume they’re smart enough to know “oh okay such and such happened in a different part!” because people are not fricking stupid to not understand that

tl;dr: people should experience jojo the way they want to and also jojo being touted as series with a complicated story where you NEED to see everything in order to Fully Understand Everything™️ is a kind of a lie

I have a couple more shows on my watchlist and once that's done i think i'll be taking a (probably brief) break from asian dramas to focus on some of the other dozen watchlists i have (anime maybe? i might skip jojo and try daiya no ace again- we'll see though)

I'm hitting the 300 dramas mark soon (that's 300 completed mind you, not counting movies, and not counting things i've dropped) so i'll probably write something later in the year too reflecting on both the shows that've come out this year and the ones i've watched

For now i thought i'd jot down a couple notes about the currently airing shows i'm keeping up with since i haven't had time to do that in a while. I'll be doing this in the order I watch them in.

Middleman's Love- ngl I'm solely watching this for King and Uea. I know some of you like this show but the main couple just don't work for me and the side couple are only mildly more interesting. I'll keep watching it to the end but it's a skim watch.

Twins- A great example of how silly is fine when it's enjoyable. I fucking adore this show right now. This has volleyball in it and I'm a haikyuu!! fan before i'm a person so of course i was going to watch this show no matter how dumb it is but it's great. I'm having a blast. I like the family dynamics, I like Sprite, I like how they're committing to the 'slow' part of 'slow burn', I like all the stupid hijinks, I like that I can watch this show and be like "oh he's a Setter, like Kageyama!", I just like it. Poor First though, doing all this work of unlearning his hatred for Zee for no damn good reason.

My Dear Gangster Oppa- This one used to be first on my list but after the dumb breakup last week, it's dropped down. I hate the noble idiocy trope as @lurkingshan calls it. It's stupid, it's annoying and I don't think this week's episode made up for it. Shame really, I was quite enjoying this show at first. The chemistry's good and cliches are fine when they're enjoyable. If it wasn't ending next week, I would drop it.

Last Twilight- Saving the best for last because a) it's a heavier show with more to think about than any of the above and b) youtube's interface annoys me.Tbh I only started watching this in the hopes that it might rewrite my current reflex of wincing everytime I see Jimmy's face in a gifset but it's such an excellent show. Aof's directing and storytelling is excellent as usual and he really does deserve credit for how handles his actors. Watching JimmySea in this and then vv is like whiplash.

ps. Pit Babe- i'm not invested in keeping up with this show and my desire to do so depends on factors such as the amount of free time I have and how reluctant I am to use youtube to watch Last Twilight. It seems to have inklings of an interesting plot + obviously it's fandom history cuz of the a/b/o but the way they only half lean into the omegaverse aspects of it without explaining anything makes me wonder what people who aren't familiar with the concept of omegaverse think about this show and how they understand it. Like it has to be confusing without context, right? Mostly, i'm just watching for Nut Supanut and Nut Supanut only though it remains to be seen whether my affection for him will eventually be worn down by how annoying his character is. I swear, if it were played by anyone else or if I cared about the main characters to any extent, I'd find Way insufferable. But so far, i'm supporting all his wrongs. Especially when he looks so damn pretty doing it.

I hate it when Speedwagon is dismissed as a "useless" character, he's a badass in his own right but he just didn't expect the sudden supernatural stuff. dude got caught in a genre shift and was wrong genre savvy 😭

Fair warning: This is gonna be long. Ngl, whenever I see anyone claiming that Speedwagon "is useless" the only thing that tells me is that these people only skimmed through parts 1 and 2 and are just using the FuNNi MeEmz as reference and are most likely just parroting what they picked up from that.

It's honestly sickening how a big chunk of the jojo fandom still discredits Speedwagon and everything he does from the start, also ignoring a large part of his character/personality in the process (turning him into a "soft uwu pure and innocent blushy scaredy crying boi uwuwuwuw" when in reality he's a ruthless crime lord from the worst and darkest pits of London who the first thing we see him do in canon is try to kill Jonathan), and then reduces him to a "hehe funny meme" without even realizing he's been a key character from the start and who is also one of the most important characters in ALL of the JJBA universe from part 1 to, at the very least, part 6.

But really, just to list some of the many things people seem to love to "forget" Speedwagon did:

He saved Jonathan's life plenty of times throughout all PB. Just to mention a few: -Like when he stops the dozens of deadly criminals who were already in line to kick his ass in Ogre Street (Jonathan was NOT a hamon user yet, so he would have gotten killed shortly after had it not been for Speedwagon ordering his men to leave him alone) -When he unveils Dio's plans and stops Jonathan from getting closer to Dio who was ready to stab him and kill him on the spot. -When he shoots Dio in the face, stopping him once more from killing a frightened and literally petrified Jonathan. -After this whole fight is over, it was Speedwagon who -despite his broken arm, broken ribs and punctured lung- carried a unconscious and heavily injured Jonathan to a hospital (otherwise, he would have died then and there from his many untreated injuries and bleeding wounds if the fire didn't get him first). -The whole "abs scene" where he thaws Zeppeli's arm. People misread the fuck out of the relationship between Zepp and Speedwagon and the hostility there always was between them (I blame the translations for this, as they usually tone things down A LOT and sometimes completely get rid of their mutual mocking and trashtalking) and, as a result, people also misread the fuck out of this scene as well, without realizing that Speedwagon wasn't doing this as an "uwu gay romance moment" with him or to save Zeppeli in particular, but that he was doing this and putting all the trashtalking aside for a moment just to save Jonathan who was about to get squashed like a mosquito by Tarkus and Bruford. Speedwagon was fully aware that he couldn't do anything to save him due to his lack of hamon, but he KNEW that Zeppeli could and was literally the only one who could do it, and so Speedwagon did what he could to save Jonathan's life, even if that meant stepping in for the guy who has been treating him poorly and mocking him for his criminal backgrounds ever since they met (I've mentioned this before but, yeah, this is an inherent trait of Speedwagon when someone he loves is in danger, as we see him do this whole 'side with your rival/enemy for the greater good' again later on in BT as well). -During the aftermath of Jonathan's battle against Dio in Windknight's Lot. Speedwagon, along with Poco, is the first to rush to Jonathan's side when he passes out and falls to the ground. Speedwagon immediately pulls him to his lap, making sure he's okay and that he isn't seriously injured and protecting him, keeping him safe from the remaining zombies that were still left in the chamber and, possibly, the rest of Dio's castle and that Straizo and Tonpetty -being the remaining standing hamon users- were getting rid of.

Speedwagon also guided Jonathan to Wang Chen's shop and helped Jona get the antidote he needed to save George. According to what we're told about Wang Chen, he was scummy enough that he most likely wouldn't have given the antidote away easily to Jonathan, meaning that Speedwagon forced him to do it.

That said, Speedwagon also helped Jonathan capture Wang Chen so he could testify against Dio before the authorities (we literally see him holding Wang Chen like trash in the manga lol).

Spw also unveiled Dio's evil nature as well as his real plans and intentions, saving Jonathan's life in the process, as mentioned some points above.

Speedwagon was also Jonathan's confidant from the beginning and viceversa, and this shows up in the way they treat each other as well as the way they address each other (some of which sometimes gets lost in the translations but that I more or less explained in a separate post), as well as in some of the things Jonathan says in some of his inner monologues, and it's also implied in a lot of Speedwagon's and Jonathan's lines and actions. There is even further proof of this in Battle Tendency, as we are told at one point that there were things that Speedwagon and Jonathan knew and shared between them but never with anyone else, not even with Erina.

Speedwagon also gathered and confirmed the information on Dio's whereabouts that the hamon gang needed, saving the whole group some precious time and, as a result, saving innocent lives.

He also provided Jonathan with the experience and heart/emotional support that he needed from the very first moment he joins him and until the very end, and this is implied even in BT, and it has also been confirmed in some of his bios.

He fought AND killed zombies along with Jonathan and Zeppeli despite Spw not having any supernatural powers, using his brute force and a sledgehammer only, further proving that he's pretty good at combat and at using different kinds of weapons (guns, knives, and now sledgehammers, too)

As stated earlier, he also thawed Zepp's frozen arm and "unlocked" the man's hamon so Will could save Jonathan, who was about to get ruthlessly killed by Tarkus and Bruford

He also took care of an injured Poco during the fight in Tarkus' chamber while also ensuring that the kid didn't recklessly step into the battleground again and possibly hindering things

Picking back one of the points mentioned earlier: He took care of a heavily injured (sometimes unconscious, too) Jonathan plenty of times, making sure Jonathan was as safe as possible at all times every time this happened.

Adding to the emotional support point: It was heavily implied that Jonathan and Speedwagon spent a lot of time together before, during AND after the whole (mis)adventure against Dio, meaning that they did a lot of healing and mourning together, especially once everything was over.

And it's also important to add to all this that he never lost his "badass" side, since he kept on fighting fiercely from start to end. He was also foul-mouthed and brash all the time (even if translations often portray him all "posh" and proper for literally no reason??), snapping and biting back every time Zeppeli tried to give him shit and mock him, and so on.

In other words: he remained as fierce and badass as he always was from the beginning, channeling that energy into helping Jonathan and succeeding at it despite his limitations as a regular human with no supernatural powers and proving to be self-sufficient most of the time (and with Jonathan taking care of him every time Speedwagon happened to need some help or someone to heal him).

And all this is covering part 1 only. Part 2 and those 50 years in between parts have their own points as well and, sadly, people too misread that and reduce it all to "all he did to help was toss money endlessly at the Joestars lol" without realizing that he literally raised George and Joseph, for starters. Whether you ship Jonawagon or not, it is an undeniable fact that Speedwagon was literally their 2nd dad, and this is shown in how both kids loved him and saw him as blood-related family, with Joseph even referring to him as "Grandpa Speedwagon" (something that the translations took away and changed to "Uncle Speedwagon" for some reason?? i don't want to say "straightwashing" but it's a possibility) and literally risking his life just to investigate what happened in reality to Speedwagon (who everyone believed was dead at the time) and retrieve his body, shedding tears of genuine joy when he learned that Speedwagon was alive, and doing all this without even waiting a second more for the Foundation. Joseph even says it at some point: Erina and Speebs are his only family. He's a key character in Joseph's life and development, and very likely the source where Joseph learned how to be the loving dad he was to Holy later on, and a loving grandpa to Jotaro as well. Same for George II, even though we don't get to see much about him or his life.

Speedwagon also always looked after those kids (and here we can count Lisa Lisa, Holy too as Speedwagon also got to meet her), as well as after Erina, always providing them with everything they may have needed at any point, especially after the Foundation was created and help could be provided in many many different ways. And this can be attested in part 3, with the Foundation sending special doctors and all the best they had to take care of Holy when she was apparently ill, making sure she would survive, or when they replace Joseph's prosthetic hand, showing that this has always been a thing, even if that sometimes means crossing countries just to aid any of them.

Speedwagon also moved all his influences and used his power (including those nexus he always kept with the crime world) to hide Lisa Lisa from the law and make sure she lived a peaceful life without fearing getting caught by authorities after she'd avenged George's death.

And, of course, there's the massive efforts done by his Foundation to investigate supernatural phenomena and keep the world safe from it, creating special teams and providing weapons and equipment designed specifically for this goal. Also, there's the massive improvements they did in regards to healthcare, technology, as well as the conservation of wildlife around the world, making this planet a better place for everyone.

So yeah. To wrap this up:

Screw that shitty take that he's "useless" or that he "only threw money at the Joestars". Same with the "pure innocent soft blushy scaredy crying boi uwuwuw".

Me realizing that the fucking "To be continued" is from JoJo's. It was my favorite meme on vine but I had no idea where it was from until I watched JoJo's.

I think about Tequila Joseph every day and I thank the video games (I know one of the games has it anyway) for letting there be a Caesar, Jotaro, and Lisa Lisa reaction.

I loved Stone Ocean's ending, ngl. It was just beautifully bittersweet (I wish Emporio a happy "get therapy"). Also I cried when I heard Roundabout begin playing and then seeing the previous JoJo's.

3 favorite headcanons:

Not really a headcanon, but Everyone Lives/Nobody Dies is a tag I look for anytime I'm going through Ao3 for this fucking fandom.

Kakyoin playing video games with Josuke is a headcanon that I die with. Kakyoin would be such a good uncle-nephew (the family tree of JoJo's is wild, thanks Joseph) to Josuke.

I wish there was more invisible baby stand stuff cause I just know that Jolyne would've been a kickass older sister/cousin to that child when they grew up. She's a delinquent like her great grandfather and great uncle, but she'd be an amazing older sibling figure to baby stand.

3 least favorite things about it:

Trying to read the manga (reading all manga is difficult for me, ngl). There's moments that I've enjoyed very much, but when you only have shades of gray, black, and white, I very much have no idea what the fuck is going on in any fight scene

Koichi/Yukako. I mean, the girl kidnapped him, tortured him, was full on yandere but then they ended up in an actual relationship later?? I get that people change, but she kidnapped and tortured him just to make him get good grades

The amount of therapy every tiny child character (hell, every character really) in the show needs. Kids and animals just can NOT be happy in JoJo's, huh? Well, besides that one animal Kars saved (but he also killed a cute squirrel for no fucking reason so the universe regained balance I guess)

Some Updates on school & stuff I’m working on:

1. Going grayscale

This isn’t talking about regular doodles or full art pieces btw, it’s just referring to my comics, especially Hazy River RGB. It hit me that I’ve started liking grayscale and experimenting with values more, not to mention the comics in grayscale was the original idea or one of the earlier ideas I had and I want to bring it back. I’d also be starting school soon and it would save me some time (tho I do plan to include color in scenes where something is the main focus.

2. Jojo comics?

It’s the last day of my holidays which means my jojo school pasttime comic Jojo’s Bite-Sized Adventure is gonna be back. Idk if I’ll post it here, probably, or make another blog about it, idk lol. Hell I even have a Kars AU where I rewrite the final fight because God Dammit why does he have to win only to pull a Team Rocket, imo that ending for Kars kinda sucked and the Ultimate Life form stuff wasn’t really it for me.

3. More jojo stuff in general, I love Battle Tendency and Kars

I love Kars he’s so handsome and pretty and I like how much of a wild card he WAS. Damn an Aztec god prodigy is now my comfort character lmao. I’ve been getting into Jojo content thanks to my friend and man it’s Exactly the show I wanted. (Except for the basic anime fan service moments cause I don’t like those in general). The fandom content is also pretty good ngl. Wonder if I should share some of my Good Guy Kars AU, it’s still relatively new.

Anyway yeah, I’ll remake my Let’s Go to a Bar episode and delete the og off my twitter and webtoons (and put the message up on my webtoons) after this announcement. Otherwise I don’t wanna wake up early and sit in a classroom aaah 😭

JOSUKE!! I love Josuke so much!! I don’t think I have an ultimate favorite JoJo character tbh but he’s my favorite JoJo by far, he’s just such a good character?? So like this is dumb but I honestly wasn’t sure if I’d like DIU because of the fact in terms of story it isn’t as much of an epic as SDC, so I thought I’d be bored by it but God Was I WRONG

Listen, I love Jotaro, especially part four Jotaro, but I didn’t like him automatically when watching SDC because he just isn’t the type of character I automatically connect with tbh, I grew to love him over time but It Took Me Awhile ngl

Josuke tho?? I loved him the moment he was introduced and for me he was such a breath of fresh from Jotaro ngl. I just gelled with Josuke’s character a lot more; I love his kind heart (I love when Jotaro points out that the fact that one of Josuke’s stand’s main abilities is healing and how that’s a Gift in a world where everybody is trying to fight and get on top, I don’t remember the exact wording of that scene but I Loved It), I love the moments that he has where he’s kind of goofy and mischievous like in Shigechi’s Harvest or when he stole Joseph’s wallet, I like that he’s clearly a teen, like he’s not written as an adult which makes him feel more realistic to me. I don’t mean to project either but he also just reminds me of when I was a 16 year old. Just watching Josuke’s story I related to him a lot more than Jotaro (sorry I keep ragging on Jotaro, it’s just the jump from SDC to DIU was always really interesting to me) I also love how creative he is with his stand’s abilities!! Like when Crazy Diamond took apart that bike and put it back together, that was one of my favorite scenes in JoJo period. The moment Josuke became my favorite JoJo tho was when he was explaining to Koichi why his hair is styled as it is and just the realization that Josuke gets so mad at people for making fun of his hair because it’s meant to be a tribute to the stranger who saved his life, that shit H I T me. Like thinking at first it’s because Josuke is vain or insecure but it being revealed that No, it’s because you’re insulting his hero. And his hero being some random dude who saved his life when he was a kid, someone with no connection to Josuke, just a stranger that helped him and Tomoko from the kindness of his own heart when he himself was clearly in some sort of trouble. I loved that shit man. I like that he Is angry sometimes though!! That just because yes he is a healer and yes he does care about people and everything doesn’t mean he can’t be mad, I feel like characters like him are pigeonholed usually into just “I’m a nice person all the time and I have no other emotions”. I like that Josuke isn’t like that y’know? That he’s Allowed to be angry ig. It doesn’t mean he isn’t a kind person either, but also kid’s going through a lot and also he’s a teen, of course he can be Angry.

uhhhhh headcanons, tbh I haven’t really come up with that many for Josuke because I usually take time after consuming media to digest it but right after I finished DIU I went on to Vento Aureo, so I didn’t really think of much akskskdk but like gender wise I like to headcanon him as nonbinary and he uses he/they pronouns and sometimes she/her pronouns too!! Also I really like imaging that him and Tomoko are close, like growing up he’d help her with cooking and cleaning and just stuff like that and they have a really close bond :’)) I love Tomoko so much akskdk

I don’t really have certain songs that remind me of Josuke lyrically necessarily, but I associate him with a lot of disco, funk, and maybe a bit of glam too, for some reason I feel like he’d really like Prince :DD

Tbh I also have to mention that I love Josuke, but I love the characters of DIU in general. Josuke, Tomoko, Reimi, Okuyasu, Koichi, Rohan, Jotaro, Kira, Shinobu, Hayato, Tonio, all of them really (except for the Gross Ass people like that dude with the lock stand and that gross ass kid with the mannequin stand, they’re not important enough to me for me to go look up their names rn) I loved all of them and their connections with each other, Morioh is also one of my favorite settings (I love the cheery bright atmosphere contrasted with the dark shit going on in the background, I also loved that since it all took place in one town you got to *know* the town and it’s geography) Idk I just love DIU period, It just Makes Me Happy tbh😌😌😌

I HAD NO IDEA THAT THERE WAS A LEADUP CLOSING CARD TO THIS ONE I MADE A POST ABOUT HERE and AHHHH!!! They all look so cute 😭😭😭 I need more chibi Knuckle in my life and I think about this happening in canon. Like Ikalgo just comes back from almost dying and Killua’s like “hey we need you to complete our star of friendship” in the middle of them trying to find fight and kill the king lmao. Who’s idea was it to even do the star in the first place? It was probably Knuckle look how proud he is ♡

This was the last gif I saved of him. Cause like. Knuckle + puppy = depression b-gone the puppy is so excited to see him 😭💕 and the fact that it REFUSED TO LEAVE HIM and CLIMBED IN BED WITH HIM why can’t that be me big strong scary man holding tiny puppy and crying he’s so soft!! I also just love how he’s so expressive with his faces and animations cause it just shows so much character 💗 like when he’s surprised his eyes are drawn so wide and his mouth gets kinda pouty. And he’s animated with some really silly faces and that just adds so much depth to his character when he lets up his hard delinquent personality. UGH I love finding the little animated details in characters that show their personalities ❤️

🔥🐓Magicians Red: What’s something about your F/O that makes you feel all warm inside?

I just love how caring Knuckle is. He’s brash and aggressive and has a really short fuse but he cares about everyone and everything around him, even when he’s tsundere and says he doesn’t. Ever since the first time we meet him he picks up after a random dog saying to “keep our parks clean” and just him VOLUNTEERING to be on the extermination team to learn about the chimera ants and not just outright kill them. Then to him essentially mentoring these two kids for a month to prepare them for the NGL, which he didn’t have to do. Then helping find Kite for Gon, he could’ve easily said no and just focused on his mission, but he promised Gon he’d find Kite, and kept his word. THEN befriending Meleoron despite him having major doubts about Knuckle at first just cause of how aggressive he looked then changing his mind cause he figured out Knuckle was feeding and caring for the stray dogs he found abandoned. THEN risking and essentially thwarting the mission and almost his life for Shoot and Morel and THEN taking such gentle care of Komugi as a hostage when she went with the extermination team, since he was against it. Just. The level of care and compassion in this man’s character is beyond belief despite his aggression and intimidating nature as a fighter. Like he’ll break femurs for days but he’ll never break anyone’s heart ❤️ I like to think I’m a bit like that too, I’ve been told I’m extremely compassionate. I really want a partner like that. Truly. It’s so hard to find that kind of selfless compassion in reality so I’m so glad I can find it in Knuckle. Makes me soft even though he isn’t real 💕

🐉🍒Heirophant Green: How long has your relationship with your F/O been?

Oooh this is an interesting one to answer. Cause it honestly changes based on what scenario I do for Rae and Knuckle. They started having feelings for each other after they and the others all meet up at the NGL. Rae helped Knuckle with his little animal orphanage and they spent a lot of time bonding and getting to know each other from it. It’s clear to the other (mainly Rae lol) that they like each other by the end of the Chimera Ant Arc, but as much as they want to confess and just sink into each other , they both don’t want their personal feelings to get involved with their mission. They’re both very emotionally driven, and they knew that they would impulsively go out of their way to help each other at all cost, so as much as it pained them, and Rae made the final call that the two of them should not be paired up together for the final fight. Knuckle got upset at first, intensely arguing and trying to justify with Rae that they could work together, he’ll protect her and they’re strong and work as a single mind together. He was actually just really scared of losing her, he wanted to have her in his sight making sure she came out of this alive. He couldn’t bare to think of how He’d react if he had to hear a delivered message of what had happened to her, He’d rather just be with her and have her there in his arms and sight if it came down to their final moments. He was crying through his arguing when he brought it up. Rae was firm though, even though it hurt her so bad to see him like that, and softly told him that that was exactly why they couldn’t, while wiping his tears away. Rae just wanted to come out with it and just tell him how much he meant to her, how she saw him as more than just her very good friend, and honestly, Knuckle did too. The looks and closeness they shared in that moment did the talking for them. But they both knew that once it was out, they wouldn’t be as focused, so Rae just told him to stay alive, telling him that they had some unfinished things to talk about, and would when they saw each other again. they didn’t see each other for a while actually after the chimera ant stuff because Rae was badly injured and had to recover, but Knuckle accidentally confessed his feelings to her a month or so after a new chairman had been picked and others were celebrating her and Shoot’s full recovery. in some scenarios, they had only been dating for a few weeks or months, but in a lot of them they’re already in an established relationship, I’d say maybe a year or two after his confession. There are also some a few years down their road, i feel like they would take a break from being hunters for a little bit, just to enjoy some time and life for themselves. But I feel like Rae and Knuckle would wait quite a while to get married, though they would already act and go through life like a married couple. they loved the idea of marrying each other, but they knew their lives as Hunters may interfere with that. It’s not like they have eyes for someone else, or can’t see them in a relationship together down the road. They do. Just maybe putting the label of marriage on the back burner for now. so even though they are exclusive, and they are gonna spend the rest of their lives together, they feel like marriage puts a bunch of pressure on them to settle, Which neither of them want to do for a while. But they have their own vows and ways to celebrate and look back on how far they’ve come in their relationship. They agreed that when they’ve retired as Hunters, then the real thought of settling down and getting married would come up. But for now they’re just happy to be together going through their life adventure with the other by their side regardless of rings or labels. But who knows when and how the tides of life change for them, it always happens to in the most unexpected ways. They’ll take it on together, though ♡

💀💨 Justice: If someone ever wronged/hurt you, how would your F/O react?

Oh GOD. If Knuckle figured out someone hurt Rae, or made her deeply upset he would make sure they woke with stitches and maybe something missing at the very LEAST. Knuckle is very protective of anything or one who is important to him, and Rae is at the top of list for sure. If he was willing to throw away an important mission for the sake of his teammate’s life, he wouldn’t even bat an eye if he had to watch the universe crumble for Rae’s own. She was just too important to him. He’d let his emotions defensively get the better of him, and it would take a LOT of counseling from his mentors and peers to reason with him if it got to that point, if at all. It didn’t take much for him to reach that point honestly, even if he simply saw someone make Rae cry, there was a potential that they could leave with a few broken bones….if they could even walk. Rae would take his face red from anger in her hands, and talk to him, reassure him that she was alright and that he sure showed them, just to get him to calm down. He always calms down faster when she’s with him, letting him come to his senses. He would, quelling his anger and focusing more on comforting her, which calmed him down even more. In more extreme cases, like how Rae was severely injured after the chimera ant stuff, he would have to be physically held back and subdued by Morel to keep him from seeking his vengeance on whoever hurt his love. He would fight all sense of reason, screaming and cursing just feeling the need to destroy something. If he truly does go rage mode there’s nothing stopping him. But he hadn’t gotten to that point in a long time thanks to Morel hammering some sense into him, telling him how Rae would feel if he went off and did something like that, would hurting something heal her truly, remember the times when he did go rage mode and how miserable he felt afterwards, just let time and doctors heal her. He eventually just broke down in his Master’s arms, crying to him about how much he wanted to see Rae get better, how much it hurt him to see her go though pain like that even though she’s so strong. How he just didn’t want anyone to take away the light she brought into his life. Morel would just hold him as he spilled his tears and emotions, seeing how he’s never acted like that when it came to someone else. He really did love her. and Morel being the incredible teacher and father figure to him would just let him cry it out, giving him words of reassurance that she’ll be alright.

Abbacchio isn’t a morning person. Never has been. He prefers the comfort that comes with a blanket of darkness to the bright hours of the early morning. There’s less eyes. Less people. Less performance. Unfortunately, he’s gone and fallen in love with a man that believes that the day begins before the sun has even broken the horizon. It’s leftover from Bruno’s days helping his father with the boat, and, later, his days running Polpo’s errands. Chasing people down for money and answers. What comfort Abbacchio can find in the night, Bruno can find just fine in the light hours of the morning.

Fortunately for both of them, Abbacchio is more than capable of running on a schedule, of waking up at the same time everyday and forcing his mind and body into cooperation. He did it for years for school and then the academy. It’s nothing he isn’t used to, and he’s happiest when Bruno is happy, no matter what that entails, which is how he finds himself waking up to Bruno’s second alarm before the man can snooze it again.

The thing about Bruno’s new medication—a pill large in size and equally ridiculous in the length of its name—is that it makes it damn near impossible for him to get going in the morning the way he used to. Before, Bruno practically operated on his own internal clock. Waking up before his alarm had even gone off and fetching them both their first cup of caffeine; it used to be the thing that made greeting the day a bit more tolerable.

Now, Bruno snoozes. Alarm after alarm, until they run out. He’s tried music, absurd volumes, and even relocating the damned clock halfway across the room. None of it helps, so Leone compensates. He wakes up around the second or third alarm, turns the rest off, and kisses Bruno’s cheek before he rolls out of bed.

Sometimes there’s a quiet plea, “five more minutes”, that endears Abbacchio so completely that his mood settles, not nearly as bitchy as he could be upon reaching the kitchen and finding someone else already there.

“Why are you awake?” Okay, so. Still bitchy. But he doesn’t sneer his words quite as bad.

Narancia, for his part, looks completely startled by the prospect of someone else existing at such an ungodly hour, but he manages to avoid outright screaming. That’s a plus. Abbacchio isn’t sure his head could take it this early. “What are you doing?”

“I asked first.”

Narancia narrows his eyes, but he caves within seconds. “I got a test in like two hours, and Fugo’s gonna kill me if I don’t pass.”

Abbacchio snorts at the idea, “Yeah, he will.”

“Not helping!”

“Never said I planned to,” Abbacchio points out as he starts rummaging through the cabinets for two mugs. He sets them on the counter and gets to work brewing their coffee. Decaf these days, for Bruno’s sake. Abbacchio could keep drinking his usual, but he takes solace in the bitter taste of his coffee instead. It seems kinder that way, especially when he knows how much Bruno’s been struggling without caffeine.

“Why are you awake?”

“I’m always awake this early,” next is breakfast, which is easier said than done. It’s rare that Abbacchio wakes up with a stomach for anything. Too many years of skipping breakfast in favor of a bottle did a number on him, but it’s not optional anymore. Neither one of them will be able to keep their meds down without something to eat, so he picks through the refrigerator until he comes up with fruit and yogurt as his best solution.

“Really?” Narancia asks, wrinkling his nose, “Why?”

“Ask Bruno,” Abbacchio says, dismissive. He’s really not in the mood to talk to people that aren’t currently snoozing in his bed.

“You’re not much fun in the morning.”

“Am I ever?”

“Touché.”

Abbacchio snorts. He should be offended, but he knows the kid is being a smartass. It’s his own fault for setting himself up. “Why don’t you go bother Fugo? I’m sure he’ll be happy to help you study.”

“Have you ever tried waking Fugo up?”

“No, can’t say that I have.” That’s always been Bruno’s job, assuming that Fugo hadn’t already woken up on his own.

“It’s too early to get stabbed.”

“Touché.”

They go back and forth for a while longer. At least until Abbacchio’s patience runs out, and he’s finished putting breakfast together. He dismisses himself with little warning and doesn’t feel the least bit guilty when the kid looks a little startled by the abruptness of his departure. He has things to get done for the day, and those things don’t necessarily include being part of Narancia’s obvious effort to procrastinate.

“Bruno,” Abbacchio calls when he steps back into their room after Moody opens the door for him. “Your five minutes are up.”

“Five more?” Bruno asks, voice muffled. His head is barely visible with only a tuft of hair sticking out from a pile of blankets. It’s cute, and Abbacchio is a complete sucker for giving in.

“Last one, tesoro,” Abbacchio warns as he sets Bruno’s cup and food down on the bedside table.

There’s a muffled reply that might be a quiet thanks, though it’s almost impossible to tell with the way Bruno pulls the blankets even tighter around himself.

Abbacchio rummages through the drawer of his nightstand until he finds what he’s looking for before taking up a spot at the end of the bed with his food and drink in hand. He sips at the decaf slowly, wrinkling his nose at the first taste. God, he misses caffeine. As expected, he doesn’t feel much better about his first bite of homemade parfait (and he can almost hear Polnareff’s protest at his calling it that). The rest goes down about the same, but the motion is mechanical at that point. One bite after the other with the occasional sip from his mug to wash it all down until everything is gone.

Abbacchio sets the dishes on the floor and reaches for the pill organizer sitting on the bed beside him. He absently runs his fingers over the lid, where small bones have been set in resin. He can still remember the first time he saw it. The black shine had caught his eye first, but, on closer examination, the thing that had convinced him to buy the organizer had been the mouse bones, delicately placed and striking against the background.

What he hadn’t realized then is that the little organizer would a significant adjustment to his daily routine. Having a week’s worth of medication in one place, already sectioned in dosed amounts, had significantly increased his medication compliance. Oddly enough, it’s had a rather hefty impact on his overall mental health. Now, when anti-inflammatories and bronchodilators and steroids are part of his daily regiment as much as his SSRI’s, it’s even more vital for him to consistently get his meds in. Otherwise, the consequences tend to be pneumonia and an unwanted hospital trip with a round of antibiotics and even stronger steroids. And that’s to say nothing of what happens when he’s running low on serotonin.

He’s caught up in his own thoughts when Bruno hooks his chin over his shoulder and peers down at the little organizer.

“I never did ask you if those are real,” Bruno muses quietly.

“I thought you were taking five more.”

“‘m awake,” Bruno answers, clearly half-asleep.

Abbacchio huffs a soft, amused laugh. He turns his head to press a kiss to the side of Bruno’s nose. “Sure you are, amore.”

“I am.”

“M’hm,” Abbacchio smiles, reflecting the expression on Bruno’s face, though his is notably less sleep-depressed. Bruno looks a lot like a light gust of wind might knock him out, and it’s so damn endearing that Abbacchio can barely handle it. Instead, he looks back down at the pill organizer and answers Bruno’s earlier question, “They are. Real, I mean.”

“They’re lovely,” Bruno says, and he means it. Odd as some might find Abbacchio’s taste, Bruno has always found beauty in it. “Perhaps I should get one.”

“Might be a good idea.” It would be easier to see if Bruno ever missed a dose, and it would certainly be easier to avoid that disaster all together. “There are other options. You could go with something—oceanic, maybe?”

Bruno hums at the thought. “I think I’d like that.”

“I’ll keep an eye out,” by which Abbacchio means that he’ll actively go looking for one. Anything to make Bruno’s life a touch easier.

“Oh, you brought breakfast,” Bruno says, moving away from Abbacchio to peer curiously at the morning’s offerings. “You’re entirely too kind.”

Abbacchio huffs a laugh at that, “For all that you’ve done for us? Hardly.” He pops open the side hatch of his organizer and dumps the day’s pills into his hand. Abbacchio pulls a face at the number of them and looks down at his mug. Right, he had meant to save a sip.

“Here,” Bruno offers his own with a smile. “We’ll get more in a bit.”

“If you’re sure...” Abbacchio could always go get his own, but he has a feeling that doing so will result in more small talk, and he’s not quite up for that yet.

“I am,” Bruno reassures him before taking up the bowl of yogurt and fruit in absence of his coffee. “Just leave enough for me to take mine.”

stone ocean man. im sure i’d do a better job at unwrapping it if i gave myself some time and a revisit even but for now here’s the juice i got out of it (long post warning ooh)

part3 parallels. that shit hit hard whenever it happened and especially at the end. and like, even jolyne and pucci are a kind of a parallel to jotaro and dio, but they have such a different energy. i already made a post before about part3 being sad and part6 being angry and i think i still stand by it - but also it almost feels like that, whereas jotaro was driven by desperation to save his mother and dio was an asshole for the sake of it, in the case of part6 it was pucci who was driven by desperation, and jolyne was his personal bastard (although she had legitimate reasons for being an angry pain in his ass lol)

i don’t necessarily like the apparent weight of fate in the jojoverse (i mean in a meta sense all events in fiction are fate...), but the way part6 handled it felt good. like hell yeah give me people who actively decide to defy the idea of fate by punching it in the throat, and an antagonist who craves that lack of control more than anything and has their thinking warped by that obsession. it’s a good contrast, and i think by jojo standards anyway it was handled very well

there’s issues with this part. there’s fucked up shit in this part. a lot of that revolves around weather and pucci and i don’t know if im the right person to talk about it a lot of it?? i know for certain that that is Not how genetics work though. and there’s The Everything that happened in the prison, and like prison systems tend to be fucked up, but idk feels weird when you’re reading this media and you almost can’t really tell how much of that shit is exaggerated because it’s jojo. again, idk if im the person to talk about this shit, i don’t know if i have all the facts and shit for it. but like yeah i did have to take a step back every now and then while reading, there’s a lot of upsetting things here and im certain the handling of the topics could’ve been more delicate

dio’s diary. i desperately wanna share my musings but with the part3 ties im hesitant to since his world is still ongoing. but it’s very good, the pasta it offers

and like part6 dio is interesting, too. i know it’s a bit of a retconned take and all, but the glimpses of like humanity in him were fun to see. makes me want to think that he was just going apeshit in part3 waiting for jotaro to get to cairo and just really really hated the tarot stand users/the 9 gods lol and im ngl that’s a very entertaining take. and like as a side-note i especially love how eyes of heaven took advantage of the dio elements part6 introduced, i couldn’t stop thinking about that

white snake my belovhated. the disc ability is so fun to consider, the way it kept like expanding and becoming more precise over the course of the story was like, ok a bit silly but it opens up fun possibilities? like precise memory manipulating and shit. could pucci have given people new memories, if he had kept going? that and, if you combine the stand ejection shit with the arrow, do you get infinite stands? probably not but that Would be hilarious come on

also the one stand per person rule? it’s funny to me how the discs get that overwritten when it’s convenient for Plot and also it’s infuriating because askjdhasj rules and also it opens up interesting possibilities that i’d love to explore later ah

i had been curious about the specifics of how c-moon was like made and i think the explanation given was all right, and kind of interesting and offers me pasta also. it was a cool stand and already pretty op on its own. idk how i feel about made in heaven just yet, it’s like... there’s so much to it and i have small brain disease but i like the way it contrasts the world in terms of abilities. also the design fucking SLAPS and it’s a shame we don’t see it more

i love the stone ocean gang so much and so dearly. jolyne is definitely my favorite jojo out of the parts i’ve seen/read so far, she is so so good. her relationship with jotaro is also done pretty well i think? idk, i know she must’ve like thought over her feelings of him off-screen and we don’t get to see that which fucks with the pacing a bit, but all things considered it wasn’t too bad. i love the kujos dearly and im going to think about them a lot. emporio deserves the world obviously

idk if it’s too early to call stone ocean my favorite part but it might just be that. there’s a lot to love, the gang is iconic on the startdust crusaders level imho, the ending hits different. i can see why people wouldn’t like it as much as the rest but it really just hit the right tones with me, like i’ve never felt that genuinely sad while watching jojo let alone laughed as fucking hard as i did at some of the shit that happened

Hey so I guess this is my first post, it's gonna be JoJo's bizarre adventure~ mainly because I don't have anyone to rant to about this that I haven't already.

So in honor of Stone Ocean being released, here is my rant about Stardust Crusaders

⚠️Jojospoilers ahead and no part is safe⚠️

Okay so Polnareff right? Charming character, comedic relief, flirty french bastard right?? WRONG!!! When I tell you I will NEVER get over this I mean it!

Let me put this into perspective, Polnareff had a sister, he loved her to death and would travel the ends of the earth for her. She was R-worded then killed, he was destroyed. He held so much guilt in his consciousness, then, he met Dio, a man who claimed he could help Pol take revenge for his sister.

Polnareff is now a brainwashed slave for Dio- but wait!!! He was saved by Jotaro and gang and is now joining them on a trip to Egypt where he knows he'll find his sister's killer. Many bathroom incidents and one run-in with a cowboy prick later, his best friend is shot and killed. Polnareff now holds insane amounts of guilt for his sister and his friend which he was arguing with right before his death.

A few fights later, Polnareff is told that they are going to find Avdol's father and tell him the news, Polnareff is not well mentally and now he has to face his late friend's father about his death which HE BLAMES HIMSELF FOR!!!! It's not looking good.

Our boy is then thrown into a whole new situation when he finds a genie who can solve all of his problems, he wishes to bring his friend and sister back!

They try to eat him alive.... Polnareff is now on the verge of bleeding out as his fake sister and Avdol are ripping into him, all the while, he has accepted his fate and death as he feels he should be held responsible for the two passing.

Avdol now appears and saves him!!?? Nice!!! Polnareff is now rejuvenated and read to tell the gang the good news!!! But wait there's more!!

Jotaro and crew lied to Polnareff about Avdol being dead and when he started crying, a very reasonable reaction I may add, they more or less laugh at him and say he's stupid for doing so.

I can't with this- he then got to watch three of his closets friends die along with Jotaro and Joseph being on the verge of death themselves and he gets to go back to France with all of this emotional trauma..

Next he got to go to Italy and do research on the stand arrows where he got to loose his legs and almost die. He then goes on to ACTUALLY die and possess a turtle stand and watch as the rest of buccigang fall apart then rejoin with only one original member remaining with the others dead and Fugo off somewhere else (I also don't blame Fugo for leaving the gang ngl).

Now who knows how much time Polnareff has left but we all know that when part 6 ended it didn't matter but our boy lived a lifetime of suffering he didn't deserve :(

Do I think Araki did a bad job?? Absolutely not, I love series like this that really gets you to feel things! Anger and frustration is a good thing in some cases, sometimes it's just done so poorly but in this one it was executed very well imho.

In conclusion, JUSTICE FOR POLNAREFF GODDAMNIT!!!!!

Ngl I’m super excited to flesh out my take on Sarah’s personality here!

Sarah had thought she’d seen it all. A 15-year-old who could pull weapons out of nowhere, a 13-year-old who could see the future, even her own twin revealing out of nowhere that no, her own powers hadn’t been misfiring, he did have powers too and could talk to animals and had never told her.

All three of the kids in their family had powers, which made them illegal, which meant they were on the run with a handful of other kids with powers, whom they’d met through a boy Davey met in jail.

Strangely, that situation had worked out okay, as it turned out Jack Kelly was pretty good at keeping a gang of a couple dozen kids safe, and he didn’t have a problem with adding the Jacobs siblings to the mix.

Davey was probably the least-powerful of them, as he could communicate with animals of all kinds, but that didn’t mean they had to do what he said. Les was the most powerful, able to convince anyone to do anything, and Sarah was squarely in the middle despite technically being the oldest.

Her power was that she could see auras. Read them to know what kind of person she was dealing with, who they cared about, and what their powers were if they had any. Occasionally, she could drain power from an aura to put a person to sleep or even kill them, though a general rule of their gang was that they didn’t kill unless absolutely necessary.

Given the information she learned from auras, Sarah could literally see the tension between certain pairs in the group. She could see when they fell in love and instantly tell what power-levels they were dealing with when they met up with other gangs of powered kids. She’d pretty much seen it all.

Sarah had, however, never seen an aura like the one surrounding a girl she didn’t recognize, who was accompanying Spot and Hotshot on a meeting from Brooklyn.

Bright magenta, a glow of power that flickered and rippled in a sphere around her. Not quite as bright as Spot and Hotshot, but powerful nonetheless.

The girl herself was maybe a year or two older than Sarah, with red curls and brown eyes, a hard gleam in there like most Brooklyn kids. Unlike Manhattan, that gang didn’t have qualms about killing if they had to.

The way her aura moved suggested that she wasn’t especially attached to either of her friends yet. Probably a new kid. And the contained energy of it, the way it didn’t quite disperse into the air like, say... a pyro’s, was similar to Jack’s, like it needed to be consciously manifested by an action like drawing or something.

To say that Sarah was curious was an understatement.

Analytically minded in a way that made her good in fights, she liked knowing all possible variables. And she had no idea what power set they were dealing with, with this girl, so naturally she wanted to find out.

But while Jack was talking to Spot about something the Brooklyn and Manhattan gangs could potentially work together on and Hotshot was hanging out with one of the Guzman twins, Specs was already making friends with the new girl. They seemed to be getting along pretty well.

Sarah was going to go over to join the conversation, but... she wasn’t the most diplomatic in the group.

She was on good terms with Spot, but not great at making friends. And that girl was almost definitely a new kid, so it was probably better for relations between gangs for her not to try too hard to figure her powers out and scare her away.

She didn’t even find out her name until after Brooklyn left, when she asked Specs.

“Her name’s Katherine,” he responded, “Katherine Plumber. Nice enough, I guess, for a Brooklyn kid. She’s 18. A bit of a late bloomer, I guess. Apparently Spot considers her some kinda secret weapon.”

Brooklyn was a powerful gang, so if Katherine Plumber was considered special by their standards, that meant she had to be a serious powerhouse.

But, Specs didn’t know what her powers were. Which was rare because Specs was widely considered so trustworthy that he knew pretty much everything about everyone.

It wasn’t unheard of for one gang to turn on another, so Sarah figured it was safest to find out, which was definitely the only reason why she offered to come the next time Jack went over to Brooklyn to talk to Spot.

Screw Jojo and Albert’s laughter. She was only scoping out a potential threat. Power sets she’d never seen before needed to be planned for.

Specs wasn’t there this time, so Sarah got the chance to talk to the new girl alone.

Katherine Plumber was... really funny. And sarcastic. And she’d discovered her powers later than most and therefore was new to this world, but she was figuring it out quickly. She was smart. A fast learner.

Her aura was even more fascinating up close. The energy had an unexpected chill to it, kind of like mint—definitely similar to Jack’s—and Sarah was very curious because it clearly wasn’t the same power set. Jack’s power of bringing drawings to life was so unique that no one had ever heard of anyone else with the same one.

But Katherine wouldn’t demonstrate hers, although she accepted Sarah’s invitation to go on a scouting mission the next week.

And though staking out an office building was dull and boring, she still wouldn’t demonstrate her powers. Fascinating and frustrating.

It was amazing, how she always found a reason not to show Sarah what she could do. There was always a counter argument, always an excuse. And Sarah had just as many ways to ask for demonstrations, so they were constantly intellectually challenging each other. And they were spending a lot of time together, just because Sarah kept offering and Katherine kept accepting.

“You’s got a crush on her!” Albert teased as he and the others cackled after she explained how she had plans with Katherine again this weekend.

“I do not,” Sarah retorted, “I’m being practical for Manhattan’s future!”

No matter how Albert and Jojo and Les and even Davey laughed, it was only to find out how big of a threat she was in case Brooklyn ever became a rival.

2 missions became 3, became 6, became 10, until Sarah could count 27 excuses she’d made up to see Katherine in 2 months and she still didn’t know what her powers were.

Until Manhattan’s hideout got raided while Katherine happened to be over visiting, and as everyone else scrambled to their defense positions to let the less-powerful and younger members of the gang escape, Sarah saw her whip out that little notebook and pen she always kept in her jacket pocket.

Like over a bog, we need some fog

The thick mist rolled in out of nowhere, and all of Manhattan escaped, following Katherine to Brooklyn’s latest hideout. Spot was willing to let them stay until they found a new place of their own. After all, they were on the same side.

Only after she’d helped Jack conjure replacement bedding and supplies for the stuff they hadn’t had time to save did Katherine sit down with Sarah off to the side and explain exactly what she could do.

“I have to write it in verse for it to happen,” she explained, “Rhymes. That’s why I didn’t notice I could do anything until I was 17.”

She explained that she’d pretended she didn’t have a power at all for almost a year, until her 2 closest friends found out and told her it was too dangerous and she had to run away before her parents found out, because they would inevitably find out if she stayed.

Remembering how her parents had told her and Davey to take Les and run for their own safety when she was 16, Sarah was inclined to agree. Powers had a tendency to come to light eventually, no matter how you tried to hide them.

Katherine was a real powerhouse. She was like Jack—Sarah was right—just slightly to the left. A creator. She had endless potential, and power like hers was bound to show through.

However, some powers were good for hiding, and Kenny and Blink had a place for Manhattan to move into within a week.

Sarah was surprised about how she... wasn’t excited about that, and she told Race as much, figuring he would understand. It was common knowledge, at least among the older kids in Manhattan, that he was closer with Brooklyn than any of them.

Plus, Sarah could see it. She could see the way his aura moved around a certain Brooklyn boy, trailing towards him and tangling pale blue with dark red, like all they wanted was to hold each other close.

It didn’t make her jealous at all, being able to see who was in love with who and that it was requited. It didn’t matter that powered people rarely lived past 21 and Sarah was 16 and unlike many of her friends, she hadn’t found anyone yet. She was happy for him that Race had that.

“I’d like to stay, yeah,” he admitted, “Brooklyn’s... part of my heart’s always gonna be here. But Manhattan’s my home. My family. ‘Sides, Jack and Crutchie needs my help runnin’ things.”

In the end, that conversation was completely unhelpful, because Race’s main reason for leaving was that he was one of the gang’s seconds. Sarah wasn’t a second. She wasn’t staying out of responsibility.

The only responsibility she really had was to Davey and Les, and... did they really need her?

“You wanna stay, don’t you?” Davey guessed randomly the day before Manhattan moved out of Brooklyn’s hideout, “Stay in Brooklyn.”

“With Katherine,” Les added.

This time, neither of them was teasing.

“I’m thinking about it,” Sarah admitted, “I’m not sure if I should.”

To her surprise, Davey shook his head quickly, “No, Sarah. If you wanna stay I think you should stay. Especially if the only thing you’d be coming with Manhattan for’d be me and Les.”

“Yeah, we’ll be fine without ya.”

“Thanks, Les.”

“I mean we’s got Jack, and Crutchie, and all the rest of Manhattan. You don’t have to worry ‘bout us, Sar. You wanna stay with Kat, so you should.”

Sarah was conflicted until the day they actually left, and though her bag was packed, same as the rest of them, she stood at the doorway of the hideout watching her friends leave in small groups to sneak to Manhattan’s new home for an unreasonable amount of time.

Fuck it. She knew where they were going. She could visit. Her brothers got more powerful every day, same as her. She and Les had survived just the two of them for a while before Davey broke out of jail and brought Jack and the gang into their lives. The boys had each other and Jack and the gang. They would be fine without her.

So Sarah stayed, and she was pretty sure Spot and the others knew why. If she didn’t know any better, she could swear the king of Brooklyn was a little jealous that she was free to. It was nice to get to know him better. They’d always gotten along well, but building a real friendship meant they found out how kickass of a pair they could really be.

She wasn’t sure if Katherine knew why she’d stayed. Her aura gave away nothing but surprise.

The only aura Sarah had trouble seeing was her own.

It was a periwinkle color when she cared to stretch her powers to see it, it had barely any glow, and it moved like a kind of fog, spreading out and weaving through others’ energies, a little bit of it always lingering around the people most important to her even more than others’ auras ever did.

Katherine’s aura was so bright that it was even harder than normal to perceive her own.

But no matter how she denied it to her friends and brothers... she could still see traces of periwinkle flickering around and tangling with the magenta.

“So, you decided to stay,” she noted, and Sarah gave up on trying to see what she was feeling about that, because Katherine’s aura had the contained energy of a creator. Like Jack, it was hard to read her because her aura hardly moved at all.

“I did,” Sarah responded, trying to gauge her reaction the old fashioned way; through her face.

Unfortunately, the difference between the two creators was that Jack wore his heart on his sleeve and his emotions in his eyes, and Katherine, of course, was making things difficult. As usual.

“You’re not going to ask me why?” she asked after a couple seconds of silence.

“It’s because we make such a good team, isn’t it?”

“No, it’s because we all know Spot and I would be the ultimate power friendship.”

Katherine laughed, “I can tell you’re kidding, but you’re not wrong.”

Sarah was strongly considering making some clever remark again, but after thinking about it in the loaded silence for a couple seconds...

“What would you say if it was something like that? Us being a good team.”

She definitely wasn’t holding her breath while she waited for her response.

“I’d say we are pretty kickass together,” Katherine answered, “Maybe even more than you and Spot.”

Sarah was obvious about it intentionally when she gave her a once-over, and she saw Katherine smirk mischievously.

“Definitely more than me and Spot.”

“I think I’m gonna like you sticking around.”

Sarah wasn’t sure who moved first, but they both lunged for each other within the space of a couple seconds, hands tangling in hair and lips meeting as a few months worth of tension released with one kiss.

Albert, Jojo, Davey and Les were going to be so annoying when they found out they were right.

Still, Sarah grinned as they pulled apart, “I think I’m gonna like me sticking around, too.”

ahh inspiration 😌 ngl my brain is empty most of the time. its rly hard for me to come up with ideas for things 😡 like, for the plot of forget me not, i spent a solid.... three? four? years trying to come up with it 😭😭😭 i usually just wing one shots and hope they come out good LMAO sometimes i take inspiration from like, tv shows or movies, or even from random ass conversations i have with friends LOL 😼😼 AUs are also just fun to write yk? like what if i put bakugou in the marvel universe, what would that be like? or aot? or fucking jojos? stuff like that i sometimes think abt. also prompts hv saved my entire writing career BSSJSJD but yeah, thank u for ur kind words too omg 🥺💞💞🥰 im just a sad college student most of the time HSJDJSK

E. Have you ever written a crossover?

Yup!  I’ve written a handful of them actually, from my first and only bashing fic Vampire vs Shinobi (Twilight and Naruto - I have always hated Twilight) which ngl is only still up on my accounts because it’s something I’ve written and if I prune fics to only be the ones I’m currently proud of... many fics would not stay up very long.  My second-biggest fic, both in terms of wordcount and popularity, it also a crossover.  The Combat School was my twist on the super common 2012 trope “the exorcists from the manga D.Gray-Man take part in the Triwizard Tournament”, and was my first 100k word fic and I think still ranks highly if you look at Harry Potter/DGM crossovers on FFN by reviews/favourites/followers.  I think at one point it was as high as 4th but I doubt it’s that high any more.  Slightly sneaky is my TAG/Fight Rising crossover Stolen Shadows, because strictly speaking you could just call it a dragon!AU for TAG, but they’re based on the fandragons I’ve got for the Tracy boys+Thunderbirds on the site and FR does have its own category on AO3 and FFN.

I think those are my only published ones, but I do enjoy prodding at ‘what if these two ‘verses collided’ in my head so there are a few others floating around that’ll probably never be actually written, but they’re fun to play with.

L. What is your favourite fic idea that you don’t think you’ll ever write?

Oh boy, this one’s tough.  I usually try to write everything I think is worth anything, but some of them are just huge, so whether or not they’ll happen is another matter entirely.  Because I’m really bored I’ll talk about all the current ‘huge and too ambitious to probably ever finish’ ideas.  If they do end up one day happening, ah well, you heard them here first :P

Love Makes Fools (One Piece) - A retelling of the Wano Arc (most likely to be scrapped because the daydreaming I call planning happened long before the arc started so none of it is anything like how Oda’s actually shown) that’s actually a shipping fic, unusually for me.  Shachi saves Kid’s life and Kid falls in love with him, leaving Shachi to handle the Kid Pirates while the StrawHeart alliance are off doing their usual crazy shenanigans and winding Kaido up.

Fight Against the Tide (Boku no Hero Academia) - A retelling of the entire manga except it’s not Izuku that’s Quirkless, but Bakugo, and unlike Izuku, Bakugo is determined to make it on his own and turns down the offer of One for All (but still manipulates All Might into training him).  Lots of Bakugo and Mei chaos as she gives him the support gear he needs to keep up without a Quirk.

If They Never Were (One Piece) - A retelling of the entirety of One Piece (ahahah) except if Luffy never met Shanks and therefore a) never wanted to be a pirate and b) never ate the Gomu Gomu no Mi.  Follows Luffy’s adventures in the Marines, and explores what would have happened to the rest of the Straw Hats if they never met Luffy - or at least, never met pirate!Luffy.  I actually have a cast of OCs ready to go for this but this project is so ludicrously big I doubt it’ll ever be finished.

TAGxPJO thing - The Greek Gods foresaw the creation of IR and agreed with it, but there was one problem: the Tracy family are all suited to the sky, but most of the Earth is covered in water.  Cue Gordon Tracy, son of Lucille Tracy and... Poseidon!  The Tracys all know about demigods and gods and stuff but still consider Gordon their full brother, and to keep the monsters away from the powerful young demigod they ended up on the island where Poseidon could protect them (and a promise from Zeus that he won’t blast Thunderbirds out of the sky for having a son of Poseidon in them).  Chiron’s going crazy knowing there’s a demigod out there somewhere that he can’t find and train.

TAGxDCMK thing - Okay, so this one is probably my absolute favourite.  Scott sees something on a rescue that the Black Org didn’t want him to, so he got APTX’d, and TB1 got stolen.  Conan and Haibara take him in and hide him from the world (including his own family) and he joins the fight to take down the BO.  Meanwhile, the Tracys are going crazy looking for Scott.  In this AU no-one knows who IR really are, so Conan and co. don’t know Scott’s real name.  However, the Tracys are still a rich family so they’ve rubbed shoulders with the Kudos before and Scott’s met Shinichi as a kid and realises who he is.  At some point they end up going to Tracy Island?  idk, not sure where it would go after that.  And KID is involved because you can’t not involve KID.

O. Is there any fandom you’ve been into that you haven’t written fic for? Why not?

Many, usually because I’m just not inspired enough to actually write anything for them.  If they’ve got a really complex canon, or something I just can’t get my head into, I tend to not write, either.  Same with if there’s a character I can connect to enough.  Examples include Homestuck, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventures (although I do have a vague wip for a Steel Ball Run fic, actually) and Miraculous Ladybug, but I’m sure there’s more if I think harder.

Oh hell, why don’t we do both so I can cringe and cry and what I used to be like vs what I’m like now.  Going with posted only (wips are a whole other kettle of fish).

First ever posted fic, from September 2009: Unwanted (Naruto).  The opening:

There was not a sound to be heard. For once, there was no breeze caressing the emerald leaves in the forest surrounding Konoha. Not a single bird sang; nothing stirred. The bright blue sky didn't contain one cloud - the sunshine was unbroken.

A raven haired teenager stood in the heart of the wood, gazing emotionlessly at the Village Hidden in the Leaves with cold, black eyes.

"It's changed," he murmured quietly. There was a rustle behind him and his three companions appeared.

"So there's your hometown, Sasuke," the silver haired shinobi said, violet eyes inspecting the village. "It's pretty busy." He was right - they could just about make out the general hubbub of village life. The dark haired adolescent said nothing.

"What's wrong, Sasuke-kun?" the only kunoichi in the team asked, putting one hand on Sasuke's chest where his shirt was open, and the other embracing him. He shrugged her off coldly.

"Quit flirting with Sasuke you cow, Karin," the silver haired ninja told the red head.

"I'm not a cow, Suigetsu you...you..." she spluttered, unable to think of a bad enough insult.

"Shut up you two," the final member of the team said quietly, his fiery eyes glinting in the sunlight. Karin and Suigetsu quickly stopped bickering. With much trepidation, Sasuke started to walk towards the gate. He hadn't eaten for days - starving himself, pushing himself further. His vision blurred slightly, but he carried on walking. It wasn't long, however, before everything went black and he fainted.

Most recent fic, from July 2020: Grounded (Thunderbirds).  The ending:

"Scott?" Virgil sounded worried, and he opened his eyes – when he had closed them? – to look up at his worried brother. Alan and Gordon hovered nearby, and he looked at them all in turn, even John's silent hologram – his ginger brother hadn't been there when the test had started, hadn't been expected after he pointed out their holotech's range didn't reach that far. "Are you okay?"

Was he okay? He had a broken rib, was recovering from a near-fatal spider bite and its side effects of dehydration, bradycardia and hypotension, and the man who had almost killed his brothers multiple times was standing the other end of the same balcony.

But they were one step, one significant step closer to Dad.

"Yeah," he said, staring out past them, at the platform cradling the most important engine International Rescue had ever created. For the first time since that horrid trash mine day five weeks earlier, he could honestly say, "I'm okay."

I’ll leave you guys to be the judge on whether or not I’ve improved at all.  I’d like to think I have.

argh i have a soft spot for all of them dont i 😭

i proper love kova, think he’s so so adorable and just want him to adopt me, he seems like such a decent lad and like he just goes to training and then home to his wife, arghh love him. but i love mase, tbink he’s worked so hard this season despite what everyone’s said and really showed he’s willing to work and play for that jersey and badge, i’m so excited for him. but then, i’ll be honest, this one will be unpopular but i proper love willian too, i know i said i hate his hair 😭 but i truly do want him to stay cos despite everything he’s been there for years now and i do love him. argh but then oli man, what a man. to sign a new deal when he wanted out in january and then basically become our saving grace (other than puli) and i honestly proper love him and hope he does have a place in this team next season too cos he deserves it, he seems like such a kind hearted man as well. ARGH but then jojo, i curse him out all the time but i do love him, every time i think about his “chin up” gesture to the young players, i almost shed a tear. but ruben, argh, im so happy for him😢😢 sure hes nkt hit the ground running since his injury but he’s tried despite everything, he jusy needs time to get back into it and we need to give him it cos he’s so willing. but puli, ah my captain america, i was a bit skeptical when he first came ngl but he’s really just become a left footed hazard for us innit😭 hes had an injury and all, been benched quite a lot but now has really come and jusy saves us time and time again. zouma, i proper love him, seems like such a genuine lad as well. FIKAYO, mate i proper proper love fikayo (fikayo if u see this, want to date? xx) and i feel so bad for him at times but i truly hope we don’t swap him or sell him this window cos i do think he could do great things for us. AH KANTE, my sweet little bean, i proper love him, reckon he’s the cutest man in the world, i just wish he wasn’t injured so much😢 hope he never leaves, hes sort of like hazard2.0 in the sense that i’ll never be over it if he does leave😢 AZPI SKSK, i give him so much shit at times but he’s truly so so sweet and he proper loves this club, he’s not gotten enough credit this season i reckon. james, you know, i won’t take adris man but i think he’s such a sweetheart, seems like a proper decent lad and yeah he’s not been amazing after the restart but he’s had a great season with us despite it all. i’ve given ross more shit than anyone probably (except kepa) but he’s truly helped us quite a bit this season especially when he’s been used as a power sub, i almost want him to stay purely for that reason, how many players are willing to achuallt be power subs and not regular starters? billy, little billy😢 i’m so sad about his injury and operation but im hoping he’ll be just as good if not better next season, truly shows everhone what he’s made of. PEDRO, rhe little weasel, just think he’s so funny and cute and sigh, adopt me too let’s be honest. michy, i really do have a soft spot for michy and i’m sad it’s gone the way it’s gone but he’s just not good enough, however i truly think he’s so sweet and just a little bean. tammy, i know i’ve given him a bit of stock but he’s actually done so well for us considering everything, i really hope he signs a new contract and stops fidkedjfkf stalling. caba, think he’s just such a dad HAHAH, i do love him anyways i’ll stop now i just love the whole team

Senku is much more of a trickster hero than an action hero. That’s been pretty obvious all the way through, but here it’s at its most obvious.

The “acquisition message” basically said “We didn’t (just) need one cell phone, (so) it was useless!” Notably, it uses the counter for large items (like computers) for the phone.

Having finished the Byakuya reboot now, I wanna cry every time I hear about the guy…

I like Shamil out of the guys from the Soyuz the most. He’s a cross between Tsukasa and Senku. Stoic yet skeptical, a voice of reason for Byakuya’s sillier outbursts.

Byakuya’s humour here is betraying the emotional capacity of the scene…it’s gone from “100% tear-inducing” to “confusing”.

Sometims you forget this dork *points at Azz* is more powerful than Iruma and Clara…

The reason why I like calling Kalego “Eggie-sensei” is because he doesn’t like it! 

I love how the narrator is even aware it’s been mentioned several times Iruma can’t decline requests.

Oh, it would be hilarious if this character Iruma just bumped into and he (Iruma) would be in a Battler together…but I’ve read spoilers, so I know what Iruma will join…

Stars Align 12 (FINAL)

I heard this show dropped the ball and that Nao’s mother got a rant, but otherwise I don’t quite know what happens here…so let’s finish what we started. Update: Nao’s mother’s rant was in a previous episode.

Oh hey! It’s that running thing Nao and Taiyo were doing…I think. (I don’t think I’ve grasped everyone’s names, even over 12 eps, so I had to check Taiyo’s name up.)

Oh, these gremlins…*sighs happily but also exasperatedly* No wonder this show took out a top 10 position for my 2019 list.

I’m worried now…there’s always a last minute thing to ruin an episode on this show.

I always thought Ryoma’s hair was pretty nice…(small LOL). That’s just my bias for bishonen showing though.

I’m…scared now…Maki’s dad must’ve come back and the red in the sky really sold that moment…

Maki…no!!!!!!!! Aw, f***, that’s the final seconds…geesh, way to end the series. If this were a 2 cour, I’d definitely watch the next one, but since I heard through ANN that this is all we have so far, really, the only thing I can do for a passion project is hope another cour gets funded and (maybe) purchase what I can to help out. This is…the best conclusion of the fall season in that Seiya defeated the Demon King and the story wrapped up properly, but the worst in that Seiya died. No one died in Stars Align, even if they failed a tonne! So…I dunno. I guess it should be happy it ended optimistically…anyways, enough of my moping. See you next time.
