I'm sure Kimi Antonelli is a great kid (and he is just that still, a CHILD). We can all see he's talented, but can we stop pretending that the idea of him going from F4 to F2 to Mercedes is in any way sensible, AND can we stop retconning Max's career to try and make it comparative?

Max skipped F2, which is probably the more formative stepping stone into F1, but he still went to a 'customer team' with lower expectations for a season and and a half before they put him in any kind of competitive car. Not to mention, Max was a MESSY driver for a long time, even when he was in Red Bull. That car has been competitive every season he's driven it, but it was only 2021, his 7th season in F1, that he truly matured enough as as driver to do anything with it.

I'm sure Mercedes want to jump in to the 'generational talent' narrative, but rushing a child through the system rather than letting him breathe and grow naturally feels as wildly irresponsible as the teams that suffocate and bottleneck their junior drivers because they don't have the seats to progress them.
