A lonely ride

Sometimes, when I do feel like something is going on in my head, I usually take a ride - somewhere. I just follow the road till it's dark, so I can no longer shoot. I carry two cameras. One with BW one with colour film. My two best friends. My passengers, one is hanging on the seat, another in between my legs or on my neck. You never know what you can encounter. Maybe I am just lonely. Looking for a passenger or lost soul to spent the rest of my days with, like in the movies. Sounds too good, yes, but who's not looking, will never find. Who's not on the road, will be stuck. I play the best shit in The Shitbox. We dance. We talk. We cry. We support each other. What I need to learn, probably better. Just think with me. It is true for some, definitely for me. Be The Far Rider. As The Still Corners sing in a song. Yes, it is little depressing, maybe. But still, I haven't kissed the trees so it is lovely then. Definitely.

It feels like I’m constantly walking on a tiny thread that divides the world of the subconscious, of dreams and emotions from the “real” world.

how do you stay afloat?

how can you manage not to get buried under the weight of realtity

how, on the other hand, do you not get lost in the stormy waves of emotions?

I’ve always tried to find ways to hide myself in the waves,

and a lot of times I would be drowned by them

and when I get out of the water I often realize I am not able to breathe properly out there

but now I am here, walking on the thread

it’s hard,it’s painful, it’s a constant battle between myself and the world that surrounds me but I know I just have to keep walking.

When the kids go back to school I can….. when the kids are that bit older we can …… When the kids leave home We will…… What if……. The kids make those experiences all the better? Did it with the kids anyway? What’s the worst that could happen? What if you don’t do those things that you are waiting for and then something happens and you… can’t then take that trip, can’t follow your dream, can’t do the thing you wanted to get done? I’ve heard lots of statements in the past like.. “it’s not really a holiday when you have kids,” “how did you manage with four in a motorhome,” “I could never take my kids on a plane” “It’s not like they will remember anyway so what’s the point” The point is, what is the worst that could happen? What is the best that could happen? I used to sit thinking so much about how others would go away with their single baby, how great it was they just slip into their plans. I’d blame the fact I had twins on waiting around to do the things. But truth told even when I was in full overwhelm we still took our kids away. Our first twins were on a plane at a week before they were one. If you head to the blog you can see the adventures we’ve taken with our kids. Yes there have been hiccups, yes there ave been disasters. But that’s where you learn, you grow, you plan better next time. I tell you what non of the trips we’ve had would I sit here now and say I regret. I still think about that one doctor at the psych ward who was like "you're with it. I'm going to be real with you" and then proceeded to tell me that my borderline wasn't a death sentence, I could survive and thrive with bpd. It wasn't a bad thing to be borderline, it's simply a label to explain a set of symptoms I deal with and need to learn to manage and work around. Anyway I wish I could write him letters of thanks because I think he really did impact me. I think he specialized in borderlines and he was so kind to me.
