And Inej is this kind, helpful girl that spends her free time tutoring younger students in the park. And one day she'd pick up her phone and say she has to go, cause her boyfriend is here and everyone is so excited to see that human sunshine she always talks about, the love of her life, the seemingly perfect little fellow that must be the softest, nicest, most caring person in the world, right? Wrong. Kaz stands leaning against a wall with a murderous look on his face when other students see him. The most terrifying part is that he smiles when Inej approached him and no one believes the poor guys that Kaz Brekker actually smiled once.

Yeah, Kaz saved Inej in the harbor.

Yeah, he carried her to the schooner and they got her healed.

Yeah, she ended up making it.

But what if she didn’t?

What if her last words were “say you’re sorry.”

I mean, you can already bet Kaz was losing it over the thought of having another Jordie in his arms, the water already rising in his lungs. But Inej gone? He probably hated to believe it. This man was so scared he was literally running without a cane.

BUT IF HER LAST WORDS ASKED HIM TO APOLOGIZE???

Cuz I would’ve lost it.

Apologize for what? Why?

Just imagine him thinking she wanted him to apologize for not coming sooner, for not saving her faster. Just imagine the regret and guilt that would’ve festered inside him, pleading with him to give up.

This man would’ve been so broken people would not have been able to walk past him without fear for their life. He would’ve taken a whole new meaning for Dirtyhands; I bet he’d simply kill every member of all the other gangs for the fun of it, no remorse or pity for anyone or anything.

He wouldn’t care. He’d do it for the Wraith. Only he wouldn’t have a saint to believe in anymore.

He’s manoeuvring her again, steering her away from her line of inquiry. She knows he’s doing it, and he knows that she knows. She’s prepared to let it go, for now.

She lifts her chin pointedly, though, and waits. If she can’t get an answer to one question, she’ll get an answer to another.

A take on modern wesper

(let me know if I should continue)

When I think about modern wesper I think about two dedicated hardworking individuals. Who at the end of a working day come home from their jobs, maybe Jesper is a fashon designer working on his next big collection Wylan is most likely a chemist or one of those high school comfort teachers (if ykyk).

At the end of the day, however, they've left work and come home to their pets.

Jesper's curled up in an arm chair, coffee mug in hand as he flicks through his portfolio. Looking up to greet Wylan with a gentle smile and a tilt of his head as he other dips his head to kiss his cheek.

He jerks his thumb towards the coffee table where there's a cup of tea for his partner, a biscuit next to it. Mirroring his own set up moments prior.

They talk about their day, Wylan cooks because it's his turn and Jesper cleans. they eat together, watch their evening show and then head to bed. Then Jesper curls around Wylan, fingers tilting his chin and grinning as their lips meet. They shift closer, switch their lamps off and relax into each embrace, ready to do it all again.

The week goes on and then they are at the end. Their plans are usually the same, dinner at one of the crows house’s Kaz and Inej'z turn this week. Jes has seen Inej throughout the week, he's selected her as a muse for this latest collection and they all couldn't be prouder of how it's come out so far. Nina does all the numbers and she thinks that its's something fresh and different for the industry.

They discuss this, laugh and just simply enjoy each others company. They all leave with smiles on their faces, feeling content and ready to do it all again.
