Being Nekoma’s Emo Manager

Now for a mini history lesson, the Emo I’m going to be referring to today was popular from the late 90s to late 2000s and into the 2010s

This means heavy black eyeliner, hair that defied gravity, neckties being used as anything but neckties

Black with hints of accent colors such as, but not limited too, pinks, orange, white, etc.

The days when TRL and MTV were the way to “stream” new music and hot topic was the source of all band t-shirts

Now that I’ve covered a small history lesson, let’s strap in shall we!

So get your check board belts and fingerless gloves ready kids!

Because it’s time to get EMOtional 😂

N E Ways- let’s just say, you classified yourself as an “Emo kid”

It wasn’t super unheard of to be different fashionably in school but you, well you were definitely a sight

Your hair was teased to the rafters, bows of every color along with skulls littered your hair

Your eye liner was the blackest black, and you skin looked like you hadn’t seen sun in decades 😅

You wore fishnet tights with vans or perhaps another skateboarding shoe

You looked pretty intimidating to most people who didn’t know you

I mean, your style doesn’t exactly scream approachable

However, the people who did know you, knew that your style of “dark and brooding” didn’t measure up AT ALL to your personality

You were a complete sunshine ☀️

A literal sweetheart and absolute Angel!

Unfortunately a lot of kids didn’t get to know you ☹️

But luckily, there was one guy who didn’t care about looks

He really didn’t care about much actually 👀

And that happened to be our favorite setter Kenma!

Because Kenma honestly does not care about looks or superficial things like that

Actually, when you first got teamed up with Kenma to work on a project, a lot of kids thought it was a strange combo

But somehow, you two managed to make it work and in fact, you got the best grade in the class

After that, you and Kenma became partners for every project

There was just something he enjoyed about you

Probably your weird similarity to Hinata honestly 😏

Soon you and Kenma started hanging out after school

You both loved video games as well as had similar styles in music

Look at me and tell me Kenma wouldn’t be into Emo rock 👁️👄👁️

Anyways, soon Kuroo joins and he’s confused about your friendship with Kenma

Like you and Kenma are complete opposites but you get along super well

Eventually Kuroo starts taking a liking to you as well

Kuroo has natural Emo hair so it’s fate 💅

Kuroo soon figures out why Kenma enjoys your company as you are a literal dark ball of sunshine

Eventually you start accompanying out kitty cats to practice in order to hang out with Kuroo and Kenma

Upon entering the gym, everyone stares at you

You low key kinda scare the first years, Inuoka and Shibayama

Yaku and Kai are super interested as in why you are there

Yamamoto is just dead because there’s a girl in the gym 🙄

And Lev, well Lev can’t keep his mouth shut

“Hey you’re that weird chick that wears black and has crazy hair. I’ve heard a lot about you!” Lev screams

“LEV SHUT UP!” Kuroo yells as Yaku kicks him

You just giggle, a sound nobody was expecting, as you say, “I’m Yn! I guess I kind of do get a little bit of a reputation but I promise, I’m not evil or something!”

“She’s actually kind of cute in a different way,” Kai says as Fukunaga and Yaku nodd in agreement.

Soon, you are coming to every practice and helping where you can

Setting up chairs, filling water balls, handing out towels

The boys quickly adore you and soon you just naturally become apart of the team

Kuroo officially asks you the teams manager which you gladly accept

It’s hard finding a club with your specific tastes and since you could still express your style and personality, volleyball club seemed perfect!

You enjoyed playing music, listening to music and writing which were all supported by Nekoma

Our progressive Kings 👑

Honestly they were so supportive of their Emo scene queen!

They loved when you added little touches of red to your outfits and even made a hair bow that specifically said “Nekoma” on it 🥹

Of course, they were still boys so they all found you super cute and adorable

Yamamoto was your personal body guard for everything

It didn’t matter what, he always walked you to every class and if anyone made any comments about you, he would challenge them to a “rumble”

Language you later learned, was picked up from Karasuno 🙄

You had heard about Karasuno and you were honestly so excited to meet them!

Kenma had told you about Karasuno’s tiny middle blocker

On the way to training camp, our sweet boys let you play the music

Honestly Coach Nekomata was way into it 😂

He was such a hip coach and he knew you kids were into some weird stuff

Please he was too 🤚🏻

Anyways, he’s just happy you bring so much joy to the team

And honestly you match Nekoma’s cat-like mysterious vibes

So when you showed up, the other teams just kind of stared at you

Obviously you kinda stood out like a sore thumb Yn, sorry to say

But don’t worry, Yamamoto is on the case 🫡

“WHAT ARE YOU STARING AT? HAVENT UOU EVEN SEEN A GORGEOUS GIRL BEFORE?!?” He screams

Yaku 👉🏻 YAMAMOTO STOP BEING AN IDIOT

You just roll your eyes and smile, bowing to the teams and greeting them

Almost instantly, they melted 🥰

Because like how are you both adorable and scary???

“Come on Yn, let’s go,” Kenma says as you wave and walk away

Eventually you get introduced to all the teams, including Karasuno

You end up making eye contact with Hinata several times as he observes you

Finally, he makes his move

“Hi there! I really like your style! I see your friends with Kenma and the pretty girl manager for Nekoma! I’m Shoyo Hinata and I’m a middle blocker!” He shouts

You smile back and greet him, “Kenma had told me so much about you! It’s so great time finally meet you!”

Kuroo and Daichi watch you both and shake their heads

“Boy short stuff really can make friends with anyone can’t he?”

“You new manager looks super sweet and outgoing, albeit a little interesting,” Daichi says as Kuroo nods

Soon you and Hinata, and by consequence Bokuto, become besties

Honestly you really enjoy hanging out with Akaashi but we won’t tell Bokuto that 😶

You share your knowledge as well as your unique style of cheering with the boys

You wrote cute little cheers and even inspirational poetry to share with the boys

Bokuto and Hinata loved your fancy words : D

And even when Bokuto went into his own Emo modes, the teams knew exactly who to call!

“YN HALPPPP!” Akaashi would silently communicate to you with his eyes

I feel like almost all of the Nekoma boys (especially Lev and Kenma) would get these for their s/o:

Like, Lev would probably be like "what's cuter than kitty couple rings?"

But Kuroo might not go for it since he likes dogs better, maybe get them and joke about it cuz of "NEKOma"

Yaku would be a tsundere about it saying "I thought you might like it and think it's cute"

idk how much thought furudate put into the whole assigning animals to teams thing but it was a super excellent decision. like the character designs being influenced by that, Kageyama looks like a crow, fukunaga looks like a Scottish fold, all the fukurodani owls etc etc but also their general vibe and mannerisms as a team? like the karasuno crows being very intimidating as a team once they find their groove and being quite intelligent and having a sort of surprising emotional intelligence about each of them, and being VERY good at using the scraps of resources left to them to become very powerful. nekoma being incredibly smart as well, taking any misstep of the opponent as an opportunity to pounce, and having a sort of "pecking order" amongst themselves but still being a whole functional and caring (if not very directly and openly so) colony of sorts. fukurodani being a bit confusing and hard to read, both scary and hilarious and [insert word that combines gorgeous and intimidating and inspiring all in one]. the grandness of shiratorizawa eagles/swans, the sly hunger of the inarizaki foxes ... it's really a really cool way to represent the teams and their play styles and dynamics. it is also very cute! Kenma kitty is my favorite thing ever. also weasel Sakusa

oh my god YEAH. i think some significant amount of thought must have gone into it, because the animals just match so well, both in the teams and with their relationships to the other teams. like weasels dislike both cats and crows (and god it's just so fucking funny to me to have your mascot literally be a weasel), the black vs white imagery of karasuno/shiratorizawa, etc.

then this whole idea of how humans find ways to fly, and then the mascot being birds for karasuno and fukurodani, and nekoma's being the incredibly agile cat, which "flies" in its jumps..... idk man but it's so good.

also i just go insane every time they make it look like hinata has wings when he jumps. like. holy shit. i see hinata with crow wings and i gotta pause and take deep breaths.

Synopsis: it's kenma's birthday so you host a birthday stream for his fans.

a/n: hey guys! I was planning on doing a request and a prompt request but since it's the baby's birthday. We'll prioritize that first. Requests are open so please don't be shy to request anything. Let's go!

 Kenma was a private person. He never really liked big parties or celebrations. He's happy with being at home with his player 2, sleeping in, or just playing a game. So when his birthday came around, you wanted to celebrate.

 Kenma was still fast asleep, his arms were wrapped around you. His breath fanning your cheeks, incoherent mumbles, filled with love and affection slip out of his mouth a few times as he adjusts in his slumber. You move his arms off and replaced yourself with your pillow because you were sure that if the pudding-haired boy didn't smell your shampoo, he would get out of bed just to look for you and sleepily usher you back in bed.

 You sneak out of your shared bedroom, making sure not to trip on wires around the room and going into the kitchen. You silently took out one of kenma's many cameras and set it up in the kitchen. You set up your ingredients and turn on the camera to start the stream.

 You smiled, waving at the camera, leaning in to whisper to the lens, making sure it isn't that loud as to not wake up the sleeping streamer. "hey everyone, if you guys didn't know, it's kodzuken's birthday. I wanted to do something special and I wanted to bring you guys along." you smiled. It was the smile you usually wore when talking to your boyfriend's fans. Even though this wasn't the usual smile you used in private, the fans could see the real happiness, glistening in your eyes. It didn't take much for the fans to jump in on the plan after seeing your eyes shine with so much love for their favorite streamer.

 "Okay, our apple pie is done!" you whisper-yelled at the camera. You wiped the sweat off your forehead as you opened your phone to check comments and answer questions. "someone asked… 'what time does he usually wake up?'. He wakes up late noon when he sleeps late so we still have a lot of time." you said, smiling at the camera once again. Fans flooded with questions about their relationship, after answering a few, kuroo's number popped up while your phone buzzed. You answered the call, your grin growing in mischief the longer you're on a call with the raven-haired boy.

 Fans suggested the placement of decorations as you set everything in the dining room. You hear the front door open with a spare key. You looked over to see kuroo with lev, yaku, and fukunaga, mischievous smiles on their faces as they said their hush hellos to you and the camera, helping you set up the food and final touches, adding their charm to the room. It feels homier now that everyone was there.

 When you heard the muffled, sleepy groans that slipped out of kenma's mouth when he stretched, you immediately shushed the boys up, getting into position. The fans were waiting for him to come out of the room, feeling the tension through their screens.

 Kenma groggily calls out to you, trying to get you back in the bedroom with his cute little whines. You suppressed a giggle, taking out your phone to read the live feed and film his reaction for your Instagram story.

 He opened the door, rubbing his eyes to adjust to the light in the room. Everyone, including you, screamed out a big "happy birthday!". His face of confusion became a look of happiness. He grinned. This grin wasn't the usual one fans saw every day when he gets a load of kills or when he finds diamonds in Minecraft. It was a smile full of endearment, full of fondness. You walked over to him with the same grin, wrapping your arms around his neck, whispering a small good morning into his ear. You pull away and you looked at the camera and made a peace sign. Kenma looked at the camera and smiled at them before kissing your cheek, making his fans go wild.

 The fans watched as everyone celebrated by eating the apple pie and talking about life and gaming. The boys started handing their presents, fukunaga hands kenma a new comedy game, kuroo handed him a new controller and yaku, new headphones. You handed your gift last, letting him open the box which seems to have small holes on the box. The fans already saw what was in the box but they were still excited nonetheless.

 He opens the box to see a small kitten with black fur and green glowing eyes. He lifted him and smiled. Kenma's eyes were filled with wonder as he looked at you then the camera and back to the kitty. He shows the cat to the camera, grinning widely at them. He pulls you closer and kisses your cheek once again. Letting you and the others pet the black cat.

 Long story short, when the long stream and the party was done, there were a lot of new tagged screenshots on twitter.

His boyfriend whined, rubbing his forehead.

(y/n) said nothing, only responding with a stern face.

Shōhei continued to whine and pout, giving his caring boyfriend pleading kitty eyes.

Eventually, (y/n) gave in with a sigh and, “I spoil you too much.”

The quiet boy grinned, pressing a kiss on (y/n)’s lips as a thanks.

(y/n) sat up against the headboard of his head, bringing Shōhei to sit up on his lap. He kissed Shōhei, the other opened his mouth for a French kiss.

Shōhei sucked (y/n)’s tongue as it explored his wet mouth. He wrapped his arms around his boyfriend’s neck, deepening the kiss.

He pulled away, moving his head to the side, silently telling his boyfriend to kiss ravish his neck.

He shifted in the other’s lap restlessly while waiting for the first kiss.

“Calm down.” (y/n) laughed. He put his hands on his boyfriend’s hips to stop his shifting while placing a tender kiss on Shōhei’s neck.

His boyfriend moaned at the first kiss and keeled at the rest.

(y/n) obliged, nipping at the sweet spot before biting it and creating a hickey.

Shōhei, topless, pulled (y/n)’s head towards his nipples.
