#klaus mikaelson x fiancée reader

Note
Heyyy! So I was wondering if it was possible for you to write something where klaus forces the reader to marry him and they have a daughter hope(she can be a baby or a kid) and the reader can kind of tolerate klaus for the sake of her daughter but actually hates him and over time she falls in love with elijah's nobility and confesses to him at a party or something and klaus overhears ending is up to you<3
Tumblr media
Loved by them two
Pairing: Klaus Mikaelson x reader, Elijah Mikaelson x reader, Summary: After your parents (pack leaders) arranged your marriage to Klaus (with whom you accidentally had a one-night stand earlier), you tied your fate irrevocably to the Mikaelsons. Problem? 1. You hate your husband for tricking you into this marriage. 2. His noble brother is too alluring. 3. You find out the hard way that hate, love, and lust are a very explosive mixture. Especially when you add the two Mikaelsons to it. Warning(s): argument, fight, blood, love triangle, smut, the first time I wrote something bordering on smut, angst, fluff, the reader kisses Elijah and then goes to bed with Klaus; generally, the reader doesn't know what to do; but she has two hot brothers on her call; three in total because Kol is her best friend; I really like this one after all Nonsense from me: I combined these two requests because they seem to go together. Also sorry if I didn't include enough Elijah x reader (despite my huge crush for all the Mikaelsons, Klaus will always get somehow a girl 😅). I also took a gif from here, because... well it's good. Word count: 8,3k (it's pretty long, I admit, but I don't regret any minute of writing it.)

You hated Klaus Mikaelson with all your heart. Your abhorrent, psychotic husband. A man who somehow was the father (even though you've tried to disprove it many times) of your precious, sweet little daughter Hope.
If the devil could take human form, no doubt it would be your husband.
You met him by accident. You and your friends went out into the city to have fun. You met a hot, handsome blond guy in a bar, went to bed with him, and left his house the next day without a word, expecting never to see him again. You wouldn't think that when you get back to your pack of wolves, your parents - the alphas of the pack - will tell you that you're getting married in a month. And not just anyone. Klaus Mikaelson was going to be your husband. A 1,000-year-old werewolf and vampire hybrid.
You will remember for the rest of your life what they told you when they were destroying your chance for happiness.
"The pack must be strong. This marriage and your assumption of power will guarantee us a secure position in New Orleans. No witches, vampires, or other werewolves will stand in our way. This alliance with the originals will guarantee us power beyond our ancestors' imagination. The crescent wolf and other packs will succumb to our strength. It is your duty to do this for your people."
Of course, you objected to the idea as soon as they told you. But you weren't a leader yet, so your opinion didn't matter much. Especially when your first meeting with your fiancé was only a few minutes away. At least the first official meeting.
You thought the guy must look like a walking fossil. You were surprised when you met that hottie from last night.
And from then on, your whole life became hell.
You tried everything to back out of that engagement. Really everything. Even a fake pregnancy with another, which turned out not to be so fake after all. And unfortunately for you, the father of your child was HE. The curse of your existence.
So he sped up the wedding, and you became the wife of the most dangerous vampire in the world. Cool! At least you got lots of presents and access to his bank accounts all over the world. The pros of being an incubator for a miracle baby.
Then you met your guardian angel. Elijah Mikaelson - the older brother of your awful husband. Your only consolation (other than Hope) in this terrible situation. Your friend, soul mate, and the man of your dreams.
Fate liked to make fun of you, it forced you to marry the wrong brother.
Elijah was everything any woman could ask for. A tactful gentleman, respecting and supporting female feminism, always keeping his word, a walking ideal. The complete opposite of your cruel husband.
You were completely in love with him. So much so that when he held your beautiful one-year-old daughter in his arms, you imagined that he was her father. Your fantasy was almost always spoiled by your husband stepping on the three of you and taking the baby out of his hands.
You had no idea why Klaus had even chosen to make your life a nightmare. There were other ways he could have taken control of the city; he didn't have to become the leader of your pack and marry you.
But he always did and took what he wanted. You found out after being stuck in this happy swamp of being married to Klaus for a year. So you took great satisfaction in denying him the one thing he could never have and so desired - your love and affection.
It was another big mystery for you when it came to Klaus and his complicated personality. Yes, you had a child together, and you were stuck with him, but before that, you didn't know each other. So why did the mighty hybrid decide to find a mate and lead his own pack with them? And why was he strangely obsessed with creating a happy, loving family with you and Hope?
Worse, he turned out to be a good alpha to your pack and an even better father. You couldn't say a bad thing. You two ruled the werewolves, enhanced by your fusion, as equals. And Hope loved it when he sang her lullabies and tucked her in to sleep. Ironically, she calmed down better in the murderous original's arms than in yours.
Even your own child was against you.
Fortunately, in this cold, dark Mikaelson mansion, there was one soul who stood by your side no matter what. The only one you could trust implicitly without fear of ending up with a stake in your back.
Elijah was a gift from heaven to you.
During your pregnancy with Hope, he helped you in every possible way. He was always there for you, whether it was holding your hair as you returned all the breakfast he had prepared for you earlier or reading aloud to you as he massaged your aching ankles.
And when did you become a hybrid? He was the one who taught you self-control for the most part (while Klaus was busy doing something else and couldn't see the two of you, of course).
There was only one problem. Your terribly possessive husband.
As soon as Klaus came into your sight, Elijah had to move two meters away from you, or all hell would break loose.
And you're not exaggerating at all.
One day, when you were watching a movie and lying on the couch, leaning against each other and covered with one blanket, you didn't notice the hybrid enter the living room. You didn't even blink when your companion was dragged from his place and thrown to the other end of the house. A second later, a very angry and jealous vampire took his place, hugging you much closer than his brother and placing his hands on your growing belly.
You didn't react to his show of strength then.
Elijah and Rebekah taught you long ago to choose your battles with Niklaus. It wasn't worth arguing with him about everything he'd done. Especially since you were pregnant at that time - you didn't always have the strength to get into fights with him.
But now as a hybrid, queen of your pack and whole New Orleans? Oh no, you wouldn't let that man fucking rule you.
You tried to make his life hell. You defied him every step of the way, overthrowing his dark plans and bringing your own to life. Of course, you did it all with a sweet, stupid smile, occasionally showing him small acts of tenderness, such as hugging or kissing on the cheek or forehead (on exceptional, life-threatening occasions, you even sacrificed and kissed him), to lull his vigilance.
But Klaus wasn't stupid. He knew exactly what you were doing and was happy to let you change a couple of his plans if it meant a kiss from you.
And you thought it was what made him fall for you.
You were stubborn, always getting your way, going over the dead to achieve your goal if it was to protect your loved ones.
And Klaus loved it. You don't know if it was his weird fetish - the guy always got what he wanted and no one dared stand up to him, so he felt for the girl who didn't want to succumb to him. You were probably one of the few survivors of the rebellion against him. And the one who could do literally anything without any fear of the hybrid hurting you.
You get used to this life. Secret meetings with Elijah in the library, discussions in the living room while Hope played with her toys on the carpet and watched cartoons on TV, occasional shopping and girls' nights with Bekah and Freya, and even to Kol's pranks and tricks.
Even your relationship with Klaus has been better lately. You tried so openly not to show your hostility towards the hybrid. After all, he was your daughter's father and Hope deserved at least a semblance of normalcy - parents who don't want to kill each other every 5 minutes.
But tonight, everything was about to change.
~•♤♤♤•~
"So you want me to go with you to some weird party organized by your current archenemy Tristan, and Klaus gave you his permission to take me out of the house?" you asked the original who made the pancakes for you as you discussed another plan to outsmart the de Martel siblings while cradling Hope in your arms.
"I wouldn't call him an archenemy... just a minor inconvenience."
"Is that why you and Klaus tremble with anger every time I say his name?"
"No, it's because a beautiful lips as yours shouldn't be tainted by such a terrible name."
"So whose name should I keep saying, Elijah?" you asked with a teasing smirk, licking your lips.
The original leaned slightly towards you. The tension in the room was palpable between the two of you. You looked down from his captivating, mesmerizing eyes to those alluring lips you've dreamed of kissing ever since he turned out to be more than your asshole husband's brother to you. You were only a few centimeters apart... so little...
Hope's squirming in your arms reminded you of the baby's presence. And that you were standing so close to your husband's brother in broad daylight and in a place where anyone could easily walk in and see you two. Against your darkest, most hidden desire, you have moved away from the noble original. Elijah cleared his throat, going back to continuing your breakfast.
"I'll be ready at 8 p.m."
"The party starts at 7."
"So? Don't you think being fashionably late will be the perfect combination for the act of surprise when they see me hanging on your arm? We'll get their attention, so Klaus and Kol will do what they do the best."
"You know ladies don't usually talk about such… bloody things while holding babies in their arms?"
"Ladies, Elijah, but my wife is everything but that." the hybrid came out of nowhere with that arrogant smirk on his lips. "Hello, my queen. My little princess." Klaus smiled fondly and took Hope from you, making funny faces at the baby. The traitor started to giggle. You rolled your eyes but also smiled slightly upon hearing your daughter's cute laugh.
"Dada!" she screamed, grabbing his nose with her hands.
Yeah, this little traitor could already talk. No, the first word she said wasn't dad; it was mom. The problem is that her happy "dada" came out of her mouth too often compared to mama. Klaus was too pleased with this fact than you would have liked.
"Well, maybe if my loving husband was an exemplary gentleman, I could act like a lady."
"I love you too, sweetheart."
"How is Aurora? Did she let you out of her arms so quickly?" you asked sarcastically, trying to throw him off balance. You weren't in the mood to put up with that annoying asshole today.
"Did I just hear jealousy in your voice, love?"
"Haha, you wish. You have my full blessing to spend time with whoever wants you."
"Niklaus. I believe we were supposed to have a meeting before we put this grand plan into action. Will you forgive us, Y/N?" Elijah interrupted you before you two broke the incredible peace between you that had lasted for 4 months and started to jump at each other's throats.
"Just take him wherever you want."
"Brother, shall we?"
Klaus muttered something under his breath. He handed our daughter over to me and planted a quick, wet kiss on my neck before stepping out of my personal space. I growled at him, showing my golden eyes. The man merely laughed, waving to the little one before leaving the kitchen.
"Enjoy your meal, Y/N."
"You can try to lose him on the way back!" you screamed after the retreating man in the suit.
"WON'T HAPPEN, LOVE!" your husband shouted back, ruining (as usual) all your dreams.
"It's always worth giving a shot." you murmured, knowing full well that he would be able to hear you. You smiled victoriously, hearing his irritable, grumpy voice as he snapped back at one of his vampire errands.
~•♤♤♤•~
"You look amazing, Y/N." Elijah greeted you with a delighted smile as he watched you descend the stairs in a long, tight black dress with gold embellishments at the waist and the ends of the sleeves.
With your little tiara in your hair and a gold snake necklace entwined around your neck, you felt like a fucking queen.
You're not going to lie—you went all out with your preparations, and Rebekah made sure she did your makeup for your first big, official outing since Hope was born.
It wasn't until you came downstairs that you noticed that Elijah wasn't the only person sitting in the candlelit room. Klaus was sitting right next to him, looking at you with the same fascination and admiration as his brother. You felt a little uncomfortable being watched by two originals with heart-shaped eyes.
Tumblr media
"Maybe I should choose a dress with a higher neckline after all?" you wondered as you watched them almost drool over your looks. They were both 1,000 years old but acted like horny teenagers.
"So I guess I'm dressed well enough to be a distraction for tonight?" you asked, bringing their attention back to your face. They both decided to act nonchalant, as if they hadn't been staring at your ass a few seconds ago.
"Maybe even to well, love." Klaus' heavy, watchful gaze didn't let you down an inch. You felt an involuntary shiver run through you with each step you took closer to the originals.
"My brother may be right. No one will be able to take their eyes off you."
"Thank you, Elijah."
Klaus cleared his throat as he got up from his chair and faced you. He took your hand gently, and after softly caressing the wedding band and engagement ring from him, he shifted his attention to your wrist, suddenly stopping his movements.
You looked up at his eyes, catching his gaze. You felt enchanted by these calm, blue eyes, their beauty mostly made you went to bed with him a year ago. You felt like any little move could break that strange spell between you two.
At one point, you felt cold metal settling on your wrist. You turned your gaze to the charming bracelet that, surprisingly, matched your outfit.
"It's for protection. In case you need help and no one can find you."
"So you've always known where I am? What is this, some kind of dog collar with a tracker?"
"No. Freya enchanted it for me. It's supposed to sense when you're in danger and let me know." he rolled up his sleeve, showing you a new bracelet on his wrist. "I have a similar one."
"Oh." you groaned in shock, completely not expecting something like this from him.
"Exactly. Oh. I guess I'm not the bad guy all the time."
"I didn't mean..."
"Of course you didn't. Have fun with my brother, love."
For the first time since you've known Klaus, you felt sorry for him. Due to the growing guilt you were feeling, you kept an eye on his receding shape until he passed through the door. You sighed, turning to face Elijah, who had already approached you from behind in a moment of your inattention.
"Don't worry. He'll get over it. Niklaus can't blame you for being careful with him." he tried to comfort you, but deep down you knew it was your fault this time.
And you weren't going to act like your husband, so you decided to apologize to him at the next opportunity. Unlike some, you were able to admit when you were wrong. However, Elijah didn't need to know about your plan.
"Maybe you are right. Let's go to this party."
~•♤♤♤•~
You were talking to Elijah at the bar while sipping your drink. You entered as planned—late, attracting the attention of most people. Rumors quickly spread throughout the supernatural community. Your favorite was that during that year of your "absence," you divorced Klaus and married his brother, now parading proudly with him around the salons. Elijah seemed to like it too.
You were enjoying the party until one of the de Martel siblings showed up. Tristan.
"Famous Y/N Y/L/N Mikaelson. It's a pleasure to finally meet you."
"And you sir are…?"
"Tristan de Martel. You must have heard about me from dear Elijah."
"To be honest, not so much. I only know that you're the one who invited us, for which I want to thank you." you played a stupid, naive girl with joy while watching the frown on his forehead. To remember: He does not like to be diminished or underestimated in any way. Mr. big ego.
"So perhaps you would do me the honor and dance with me? We could get to know each other better."
"Actually, this lady promised me her first dance. If you'll excuse us, Tristan."
"Of course. Enjoy yourselves."
Elijah grabbed your hand and led you to the dance floor. He pulled you closer to him, rocking you to the beat of the song. The original wanted to cause even more rumors... you wonder if Klaus agreed to his actions.
"He's a slippery guy. Now I know why you wanted me to stay away from him and his sister."
"You just spoke to him, how do you know..."
"Well, starting with the extravagant look of the room, the fact that his suit and watch literally scream I'm rich, and ending with the fact that he carries himself as if he were the master of this world, I've noticed other manic behaviors as well. Besides, it's obvious at first glance that he's desperately trying to imitate you. I don't like him."
"Should I assume that you don't like me as well?"
"No! No. I like you. More than you know. I don't know how I would have dealt with vampirism and all of this without you. Thank you for being there for me. Always." you murmured, resting your head on his shoulder, inhaling the scent of his cologne.
"And forever." he said, placing a tender kiss on top of your head. "You're more to me than I could ever admit."
"Do we have to? Pretend and hide the truth?" during your conversation, you didn't even notice when he led you to a more desolate place. Nobody was looking at you. There was only him and you.
"Niklaus..."
"Have you ever, in your entire, very long life, done something just for yourself, without thinking about your brother or sibling? Have you ever acted selfishly?"
"I can't be selfish with you." he said, resting his forehead against yours. You were so close to each other, so close to getting what you both wanted.
"Why?"
"It will destroy us all."
"Then let the world burn... just for a moment."
Elijah, after a moment's hesitation, leaned closer to you, embracing your slightly trembling figure with anticipation even tighter. He cupped your right cheek with his hand and finally brought your lips together in the long-awaited kiss.
Your first kiss with the original was… completely different from what you imagined. His soft lips didn't match up with yours as well as they did with…
You froze in complete shock as you realized your subconscious was comparing Elijah to Klaus. And surprisingly, it was more sympathetic to your hated husband, from whom you wanted so much to be free. In spite of this strange feeling of guilt that you somehow betrayed Klaus, you returned the kiss with more passion than before, trying to feel that wonderful tingling and buzzing in your head.
But it never came.
Something was missing in this perfect, fabulous setting for the first kiss with the love of your life. And you had no idea what was wrong.
Maybe first kisses with someone new were so… awkward?
Your treacherous mind reminded you that there was NEVER such an awkwardness between you and Klaus. Only pure passion and desire.
What the fuck happened to you? Why didn't you feel anything special when all your wet dreams were coming true?
You moved away first under the pretense of taking a breath. Staring into Elijah's eyes, you could feel the same attraction that accompanied you every time you stole those furtive glances from each other.
"I love you, Y/N. I've loved you since the first day you gave me a lecture on how Pride and Prejudice is Jane Austen's best book; how cliché it wasn't." you hit him on the shoulder, making him giggle. "And if the circumstances were completely different, if it were someone completely different, I wouldn't hesitate to be selfish just this once and take something from my brother. But I will not allow any harm to come to you or Hope through my actions."
Before you could say anything, you two heard a howl.
Klaus and Kol.
Elijah nodded at you. You disentangled yourself from his arms and ran upstairs to fulfill your role in the Mikaelsons' plan. You just hoped the guys would distract them long enough for you to find what you were looking for.
You searched their house, wondering how Elijah's confession would affect your relationship now.
But little do you know that you weren't the only one who heard it.
~•♤♤♤•~
It was a really fucked up night.
The peaceful surveillance of the de Martel house turned into a bloody battle between the originals and the first vampires they turned. Klaus' therapist, Cami, barely escaped a jealous attack by Klaus' ex-Aurora. You wonder how Klaus managed to reach Cami in time and why the red-haired psycho didn't target you and your child. Klaus must have put on quite a show for her.
In all the chaos, you didn't get a second chance for a moment alone with Elijah. The subject of your feelings still remained the elephant in the room. And frankly, you've had enough of it all. All you wanted now was a warm bath and playing with Hope. No more family drama.
Without Klaus, everything would have gone to hell. And as much as you hated that he forgot to include you in his plans for today, you couldn't help but be grateful to him for helping you protect your pack from vampires today. He didn't have to. He could watch the de Martel vampires kill your people and attack them when they get tired of fighting werewolves. Another demonstration of him being more than a villain to you.
It amazed you how one minute he was an irritating, ignorant, disrespectful asshole and the next your savior, protector, and equal partner in crime you could rely on.
You guess that's what your husband was like. Full of contradictions and surprises. Your private pet of nature.
You sighed in relief as you finally walked to your home. You took another step towards the mansion when you saw Klaus and Elijah getting out of the car and heading for the entrance.
You were about to join the originals, but you stopped dead at the sound of Klaus' pretentious voice.
"So we're just going to pretend you didn't kiss my wife and confess your feelings to her, or maybe you have an explanation?" you hid, eavesdropping on their conversation. "Don't think that after all that's happened, I've forgotten that you went a little too far in distracting the de Martels. You may get Aurora away from her that way, but it was superfluous, and I know you enjoyed every bloody second too much for me to just walk away from this."
"I don't have to explain myself to you. If she wants me, it's none of your business, Niklaus. You only married her because you made up a plan - Y/N has never wanted to be your wife and you have never cared about her." Klaus stopped, watching his brother blankly. He looked like something had broken inside him.
Tumblr media
The hybrid suddenly lunged at the other man with his fists.
They started punching each other and throwing things at each other within reach. At one point, they both pushed off each other, landing on opposite walls. (Creating another dent to patch.)
"SHE IS MY WIFE! My mate! My queen! MOTHER OF MY CHILD! You have no right to her, brother! So I'm warning you… If I ever hear the littlest rumours about her having the smallest crush on you, I'll put you back in that bloody coffin, and I will release you after our eighth child comes into this world. She will be so madly in love with me that she won't even spare you a second glance when you meet again."
"I didn't know you loved plans that take over a thousand years to complete, brother. I never thought you could be so patient."
Klaus growled, throwing himself at his brother with a scream. From your hiding place, you could hear the sounds of a fight and shattered furniture.
You decided to wait a little longer before stepping in and heroically separating the two combatants. You didn't want it to seem like you overheard their argument.
Only when there was a sudden outburst followed by a suspicious silence did you decide to run into the house. You wouldn't expect them to demolish the entire living room in minutes, and Klaus would be bleeding out dangerously while trying to patch up the wound and drive the dagger into his brother's heart.
The men didn't notice you as they tried to disable each other. You weren't going to come between them or stand on either side until Elijah, out of nowhere, pulled out Pappa Tunde's blade.
Your body reacted faster than your brain. You instinctively threw yourself between them, shielding Klaus from the blade.
They both froze when they saw you.
Time seemed to stop as both shocked and incredulous looks from the originals fell on you. To be honest, even you were surprised which side you were on. You blamed your stupid tendency to act instead of think in difficult situations. But you weren't going to show them that you were insecure about your actions. Not when they were both holding weapons harmful to the other one.
"Put it down." you said, looking straight at Elijah. "You too." you added, glancing over your shoulder at your husband, who was staring at you with a strange, unidentifiable look. Amazingly, he dropped the dagger to the ground first. Soon after, Elijah did the same. You quickly bent down to grab both weapons, putting them in your pockets. "Good. Are you calm now?" they nodded silently, waiting for your next move. "Great. So, WHAT THE BLOODY HELL YOU TWO WERE DOING?!"
Elijah took a breath, probably intending to give you some clever answer, but stopped as soon as you felt an unexpected weight fall down your back. You caught Klaus just in time before he slid to the floor. Holding him up, you noticed a wound on his right side. You reached out to touch his wound, but the hybrid's strong grip on your wrist stopped your hand.
"Don't. You'll get burned. Verbena and the wolfbane. Grenade."
"What the hell?! Elijah how could you throw a grenade at him?! Do you throw one back?!" you asked the man in your arms.
"I wanted. You stopped me."
"God, from now on, you're both grounded from being with Hope. Hell knows if that rage won't attack you in front of her! Come Klaus. I'll help you clean it up. Elijah, you can clean up here before Rebekah or Freya come." you said, casting a disappointed look at Elijah's outfit before helping the hybrid up the stairs.
"I would never..." Klaus tried to explain himself as you dragged him to his bedroom.
"Just shut up and sit down." you growled at him, pushing him onto the bed. You took the first aid kit from the bathroom and went back to him to disinfect his wound. "It'll hurt."
"Will you kiss it later? To ease the pain and speed up the healing process, of course."
"Don't try your luck any more today." you warned, rolling your eyes at his mischievous smirk.
He snorted, offended. He looked like a child who had been grounded for snacking on sweets. You sighed, trying not to laugh at his scowl. Unwittingly, you began to wonder what Hope would look like when she went through her rebellious period. Probably like her father when he did something wrong and got caught doing it. Well, at least you'll have some practice before she grows up.
"Do you love my brother?" he burst out suddenly while you were cleaning his wound made by verbena and wolfsbane. Why they had pomegranates from these plants shouldn't shock you as much as it did.
"What?" you asked, shoving a water-soaked cotton ball into his wound, which made him groan in pain. You gave him an apologetic look as you continued working on his side.
"Don't act stupid, it's not like you at all. Do you love my brother?"
"Of course I do, he's my friend and Hope's uncle." you replied unfazed, continuing your work.
"Let me rephrase that. Are you IN LOVE with my nobel brother?"
You tried to pretend that his question had no effect on you. You put down the cotton balls and tried to avoid his gaze to give some answer, but Klaus grabbed your chin, forcing you to look into his eyes. Fuck. You couldn't lie now. He always knew when you were lying, and now that you were exposed to his watchful gaze, you only knew one way out of this fucked-up situation.
So you pulled him closer to you, kissing him passionately.
He moaned, surprised by the feeling of your soft, enticing lips on his own. He wasted no more time. He put you on his lap, wrapping an arm around your waist to pull you as close to him as possible.
The feeling of his warm skin against your clothed body reluctantly brought back memories of the night it all began.
Intoxicated by the feeling of his captivating lips on yours again (after so long), you didn't even notice when he threw you onto the bed, only momentarily breaking your kiss to let your hair down. He melted back into your mouth, hovering over you. The hybrid tangled his hand in your hair, tilting your head so he had better access to your equally eager mouth and tongue.
He moved to your neck, leaving wet kisses and gentle bites and rubbing every inch of your skin, effectively ruining any thought process in your head.
It was just you and him.
And after a very long time, you felt extraordinary pleasure and much-needed relief from the tension that your body had gone through today.
"Nik!" you moaned when he started sucking on the most sensitive spot on your neck, which he knew damn well existed and used every time to tease you.
But this time you moaned for him like a whore, too overwhelmed by the sensations his skilled hands and lips were giving you.
And this time, Klaus didn't hold back. His amber irises and possessive growl were the only warnings he gave you before he ripped your dress in half, revealing your dressed-in-lace-underwear body to him.
His wolf howled inside him.
He pressed his lips to yours greedily, caressing every inch of your newly exposed skin. You growled into his mouth as he bit your lip harder and dug your nails into his back. He reciprocated by squeezing your thigh tightly as he wrapped your leg around his waist, rubbing your most sensitive parts against each other. You both moaned in unison, pulling your lips apart for a moment. You decided to repay him and slid your fangs out to dig into his neck, drinking his sweet blood greedily. You've been dreaming about it since you became a hybrid. Only in your darkest, wildest dreams, after which you were ashamed to look into the eyes of the hated hybrid who probably drove you to Stockholm syndrome because you wanted him more every day—the man who was the cause of your misery.
It was impossible for you to love him. To love the man who tricked you into this marriage; who lied and killed and tortured so many people; who made you fall head over heels for him. Maybe that's why you fell in love with Elijah? He was his complete opposite. He was self-possessed, calm, reasonable, and kept his word.
But there you were, rubbing against him and moaning as his blood ran down your throat. Wanting him more than his brother—the man of every woman's dreams.
Maybe you were as fucked up as your husband.
Moments later, he copied your idea and dug himself into your neck. The moan coming from him sent shivers through your body all the way THERE. How could a man make you so desperate for him with just some kisses and the slightest touch?
You'd probably go all out and lose yourselves in each other's touch for the rest of the night (and possibly part of the morning) if Hope's cries hadn't come from the baby monitor on his nightstand. You broke apart, breathing heavily. Klaus licked off the rest of the blood dripping from your wound until it closed. He rested his head against your chest, inhaling your scent.
You unknowingly ran your hand through his curly hair, also closing your eyes and getting lost in this special, unique moment of tenderness between you two.
"I love you, Y/N." his soft whisper, combined with the gentle movement of his lips against the skin of your breasts, sent shivers down your spine. The realization of his confession left you completely still, holding his arms in a gentle embrace. "I know you don't feel the same way about me, but I promise you that one day you will. I will be worthy of your affection, my brave, wise, beautiful, merciful queen." he said, placing one last longing kiss on your lips before climbing off of you. He got dressed and left the room to soothe the crying Hope.
You closed your eyes, taking shaky breaths. You covered your mouth with your hand to drown out your silent sobs as you heard the familiar lullaby that Nik usually sings to Hope.
Klaus has really changed for the better since the first time you two met. And any other woman in your situation would surely fall in love with him in a heartbeat. But you've already given your heart to someone you'll never have. Or so you thought.
You felt an inexplicable attraction to Elijah, but with Klaus... everything just felt right - even though the hybrid drove you crazy and was the complete opposite of your dream prince on a white horse, in which Elijah fit perfectly. So maybe your Mr. Right wasn't someone you'd imagined in your head a long time ago…
And now, crying silently on your husband's bed, you realize what you should have done ages ago. But before you did the right thing, you could afford to pay a little attention to your troubled, lost heart.
So you cried until you got tired enough that all you did before falling asleep in Klaus' bedroom was to cover up any traces of your tears. You promised yourself a long time ago that no matter what, you would be the only witness to your tragedies. You'd rather be seen as a cold bitch than a weak, lost girl thrown into the fights the originals always fought.
Because in the end, it was only you (and Hope) against the whole world. Just like always.
~•♤♤♤•~
"I need you to do me a favor, Kol." you said as you walked into his room without knocking. The original was on the bed, flipping through something on his phone. He lazily shifted his gaze to you. You groaned internally. Bored Kol is a Kol who is very hard to work with. But—shame to admit it—he was your last and only resort.
"Hello to you too, Y/N. Thank you for knocking before storming into someone's room. How am I? I'm very glad you're asking; I'm fine. That's a very beautiful day, don't you think? Yes, indeed. Did marriage with my brother completely make you lose any manners and tact?" he teased as he drank the blood from the bag.
"I want you to compel me." he spat out his drink, choking and staining another carpet. "Rebekah will be mad at him." you thought as you watched how the original was coughing.
"What?!" he shouted, finally coming to himself. "Why?!" he asked, reaching for his half-full bag again.
"I want you to compel me to love Klaus." he spat out his drunken blood again, suffocating. He tossed the bag on the nightstand, deciding not to reach for it again in the face of new revelations. He probably thought you were completely out of your mind.
"What the bloody hell?! But I thought you and Lijah…" he began, confused, jumping out of bed to face you.
"We never gonna happen, Kol. I realized it very clearly yesterday. And I don't want to feel these stupid things around Elijah any more. He will never be mine, and I will never be his. I have Hope. I had to think about her future and happiness. And she deserves… everything. So if I can give her a happy, normal, loving family, I will do it. Even if it means falling for Klaus by your compel."
"Are you sure, darling? Do you even know what you're asking me for? Do you really want me to erase your memories of you and Elijah?"
"No. I don't want to forget. I want to remember all those stupid moments that led me to this fucking rollercoaster of emotions. I need you to convince me that... it was always meant to be Klaus. That my love for Elijah is just a fleeting fascination, and that Klaus is my fucking soulmate and partner, someone who will treat me as an equal and put me and our daughter above everything else. And that seeing him so close with Aurora and Camille made me realize that I only want to be with him."
"You know that these things aren't far from the truth, do you? My brothers love you. Both equally strong. Are you sure that…"
"Yes. I made my decision. I'm just asking you to help me sort out my emotions properly. I can't be the girl who sails between two brothers. I will not let Hope grow up in this mess my feelings have caused. My fate was sealed the day I met Klaus. Now it's time for me to finally accept it."
"I'll help you, darling. On one condition. I'm not going to keep you under my compel forever. I'll take it off someday. Are you then ready to face the consequences of your actions? Organize your feelings on your own? What if you really fall in love with Nik? What if you somehow fall in love with both of them? If Elijah finds someone else? Do you even think about what it will mean to you? You'll be living a lie, Y/N. Are you ready for it?"
"I'll do everything to give Hope the family she deserves. Besides, I'm Y/N Y/L/N-Mikaelson. I always know what to do. And for now, this is the perfect solution. I think I could be happy with Klaus after all. And after everything that happened recently... I just want to finally be happy, Kol. Without all the extra problems that being a Mikalson brings anyway."
"I only hope you're not going to regret this... Look at me, darling. Today you will feel something more than hostility or a little friendliness toward my brother Klaus. After seeing him, being a hero for your pack, and rescuing that human Camille from getting killed, you realized that you'd always had some feelings for him, but before today they were weaker than what you feel for Elijah. You realized that Klaus could be the man of your dreams, someone you want to spend the rest of your life with. You will never forget what you experienced with Elijah, but now you see him more like a brother and an uncle to your child than a life partner. You like Klaus; he's the only man you could be romantically interested in until Hope comes of age. After this time, my compulsion will cease to work. You will forget that I compel you. I told you to get that stupid idea out of your head and told you not to ask anyone else for such a favor. You will follow my command." you snapped out of your stupor, blinking as you tried to remember what the hell had just happened.
"Well, at least promise me you won't tell Klaus, Elijah, or anyone else."
"I hate to say it, but you have my word. Everything will stay between us."
"Good." you nodded your head and left his room. Kol's concerned gaze led you all the way to the door.
At least he circumvented your request and didn't force you to love Klaus directly, he just dulled your infatuation with Elijah. If you started to feel anything for his hybrid brother, it would be real. He only hoped that when Davina, Rebekah, or Nik found out, they wouldn't castrate him for it.
~•♤♤♤•~
You were pissed off. Incredible furious with your stupid husband and his older brother.
These two morons went with Kol on a solo quest against Lucien and Tristan, locking you (Freya, Davina, Rebekah and you) in the house.
You don't need to tell anyone that they came back with nothing and narrowly escaped death. As soon as the boundary spell was lifted by your witches, you ran out of the house with Hope and went straight to your pack. You left your daughter with your cousin Lily and her witch girlfriend while you went to get wood. You must have landed your rage on something. Trees were better than innocent people or your very guilty and stupid husband, whose face you didn't want to see right now because you knew you'd use it as a dartboard.
However, you forgot that your husband had no self-preservation instinct.
"What the fuck are you doing here?" you growled as you sensed his presence, continuing to chop wood. He really was asking to die today.
"You took our daughter and left the house, you think I won't follow you? Besides, we need to talk, love."
"Well, it's too fucking late now. Fuck off before I shove a branch up your ass."
"Where does such an aggression of yours come from, love?"
"You dare to fucking ask me?! After what you did?! You could all die or get caught! I know you don't care what happens to me, but have you thought about Hope? Your fucking daughter! What would happen if they came for us, for her, when we were closed in the cage, you made?! Tell me, honey, was it your brilliant idea? Or maybe Kol's?"
"It's fascinating that you have such faith in my noble elder brother that you don't even entertain the slightest possibility that it was his plan."
"Elijah wouldn't do something so stupid. He's better than you. Do you even know how it could..."
"Of course our dear Elijah would be a better husband for you!" his brain apparently focused only on that damn part, not the one where you scolded him for being so careless because you were worried about him.
"Don't you dare fucking bring him into this! He was the only goddamn person who cared about my fate after my transformation! He cares enough about me to let me know about his plans, Klaus!"
"I saw perfectly well how he cares for you - by shoving his tongue down your throat!"
"Maybe if you weren't acting like a fucking, arrogant, condescending dick who knows everything best, you'd be in his place!"
"Well, I went further with you than he did last night. You didn't even moan against his mouth as you did against mine. I guess being a dick pays off after all." he replied with a feisty, smug smile.
"You! Fucking! Disgusting! Pervent!" you growled, punching him in the chest each time, causing him to back away from you until you pinned him to a tree. "I fucking hate you. Every time I see the shadow of a man worth loving in you, you always screw it up! I hate you and despise both you and myself that despite all the damn things you've done against me, somehow I still fucking want to see in you someone worth my love!" you screamed, taking out your anger on him with every blow you landed on him.
It shocked you that he didn't do anything to stop you. He just took your punches, standing still in complete silence, until you got tired.
"Better?" he whispered, staring at your panting, disheveled figure as you both tried to calm down.
"A little."
"You tremble." he noticed, carefully touching your cold shoulder. "Let's go back to the camp. We need to warm you up." he said as he took off his leather jacket and tossed it over your shoulders. He grabbed your hand and started leading you through the dark forest.
You don't even remember when you got this far in your anger. It took you a good half silient hour of walking to get back to the sleeping pack.
You sat by the still-burning fire. Klaus added a few logs of wood to make sure it wouldn't go out. He then sat next to you and unrolled the blanket, draping it over your back, creating a warm cocoon around the two of you.
You sighed, leaning your head against his shoulder and staring into the fire. You blissfully absorbed the silence between the two of you, losing yourself in Klaus' warmth and scent.
"I'm sorry." he broke the long silence between you. "I should have let you know about my plans or not locked you in the house. You're right. You deserve someone better, love." he said, his voice slightly trembling as he spoke the last words.
"I could love you, you know?" you felt his piercing, surprised look as you played with one of the sticks, staring stubbornly at the fire to avoid his gaze. "A long time ago. If you hadn't acted like a condescending asshole and tried your best to lock me up in that damn house with Hope. If you'd let me in, help me get past that evil, cruel hybrid facade and see the real you, you would have what you so secretly desire."
"And what is that?"
"Unconditional love from someone who isn't forced to give it to you. Unlimited trust and devotion-something you have not experienced in your very long life. You know one day you'll get it from our daughter, but it won't be the same. She will love you because you are her father, her love is conditioned by the bond you have shared since she was born. That's why you want me to love you so much. You want someone who cares about you for no reason."
"And could you? Love me just because you want to? After everything I have done?" he asked, pulling you away from him, not too far away, just enough to look you in the eye.
"You were never quite the villain in my story. I have to admit, I've hated you since I met you... but over time, I've seen that you've made me more than I could have imagined, someone much more powerful, someone whose opinion really matters. You always helped me, even when I thought it was some kind of sabotage against me and when I disagreed with your plan, like when you decided to stop Dalhia alone or play partners in crime with your bloodthirsty father. You take care of my pack like it's your own, and you're such a good father to Hope that sometimes I envy her. Maybe our beginnings weren't the best, and maybe along the way we'll start arguing and fighting like bitter enemies again, but I couldn't imagine anyone else to do it with."
"Even after I forced you into this marriage?"
"Well, if it weren't for you, my parents would've arranged one with a possibly stupid, self-centered werewolf anyway, so I didn't get the worst of it."
"Good to know I'm not the worst option."
"At least you're hot and handsome." you replied, nudging him with your arm. He did the same, making you both laugh.
You stared into his eyes as the firelight reflected in his beautiful irises, emphasizing sparks of amusement and... tenderness.
"I want to be the man who deserves your love."
"Can you let me in then?"
He did not answer. Instead, he pressed his lips to yours. If it had been any other man, you would have insisted on answering this important question. But you knew Klaus too well to know that this passionate, sultry, tender kiss is a silent promise he makes to you. A promise he intends to keep.
Klaus wasn't the perfect man of your dreams, and he often made hasty, sudden decisions without considering the opinions of others. But deep down, you knew there was no other man in the world who made you feel the way you did with Nik. Even Elijah couldn't make you feel half the way you did with his brother. His kiss, his touch, his smile, and his scent made you feel insane. And that (desire, passion, tenderness, warmth, and thristing for his little affection) was the type of love you want to lose yourself in.
Maybe it was Klaus who was supposed to be your Mr. Right after all.

I'll Always Find You
Tumblr media
Request from @loxbbg Klaus Mikaelson x original reader where they were engaged but once klauses father began hunting them they split up. They promised they would find each other and end up in New Orleans and continue their relationship centuries later.
Cemeteries apart didn't stop my determination and sadness to get back to the only man I ever loved in my mortal and now immortal lifetime. Klaus Mikaelson, the original hybrid they call him at least in this century. The years before he was called one of the Originals that brought blood everywhere they roamed. I was among one of those rumors with his siblings until their prescence disappeared from the Earth. I could only assume that Michael his father had found them finally. That's why I am not by my fiancés side. I was terrified he would kill me like his children. Strolling down the busy streets of New Orleans I vamped inside a building shoving a human girl with blonde hair and green eyes. Popping my fangs out I almost bite into her neck until I am pressed harshly against another wall by someone holding a tight grip on my throat. "You seek to have a death wish by trying to kill her - Y/n it's really you?"
Blinking the tears from my eyes I gulped seeing the man that is holding me by the throat is Klaus himself. "Klaus...I finally found you.." His blue eyes locked onto mine slowly releasing his grip from my throat lowering me onto the ground so I'm standing on my own two feet again. Dropping my arms at my sides he slowly tilts my chin up to his tears welling in his eyes where I started crying too. "I thought about you everyday my love. There was even days that I thought you had died. But now I am relieved that you aren't." Leaning up on my toes I fling my arms around his neck kissing him without another moment to waste. He wrapped his arms around my waist lifting me up deepening the kiss where I felt almost of breath even though we didn't need air as vampires. "I was just thinking about you this morning. What it would be like if we could finally be together for real Klaus. Where you're father was a threat anymore...because I am hopelessly in love with you still Klaus Mikaelson."
"Mikael is dead Y/n. He can't hunt you anymore. I killed him recently once and for all. So I can now marry you and call you mine for eternity." Klaus vowed before I smiled wrapping him in a warm hug. He wrapped his arms around my waist kissing my forehead with the biggest grin I have ever seen. "I love you, Klaus Mikaelson always and forever. We promised we would find each other in the end and now I have." Breaking the hug I noticed the blonde human girl standing in the corner until Klaus waved her over resting a hand on my shoulder. "I'm sorry my fiancée Y/n gave you a scare Camille." She slowly walked up acting very brave for any human I had seen in my lifetime. "It's okay. It's honestly not the craziest thing I've dealt with since meeting him." Giving her a smile I lay my head on Klaus's chest with him draping an arm over my shoulder finally feeling at ease for centuries apart.
Comments really appreciated 😊

Title: His new babe
Pairing: Past!Haylijah, Elijah Mikaelson x O'Connell!Rocker!Reader
Warnings: Fluff, Angst, a bit smutty, Jealous!Hayley, Camille and Klaus playing cupid
A/N: I adore Halestorm so I kinda base Reader off the lead singer, song here will do a part two
Klaus smiled seeing his fiancée get giggy as it was the first time since they started planning the wedding that Camille was excited about something as wouldn't stop telling him about her older rockstar sister. But really got Klaus's attention was that Camille suggested that they set her sister up with Elijah since his nasty break up with Hayley and agreed with his future wife.
You laughed when Camille pulled you into a crushing hug when she came to pick you up from the airport with your future brother-in-law. You were surely different than Klaus imagined as you were dressed in tight skinny jeans and corset under a leather jacket with ankle boots, your hair a light brown hair in loose curls.
"Cami! Look at you, just gorgeous." You say dark green eyes twinkling as Camille smiled brightly holding your hands looking you over before having you meet Klaus. You were happy for your baby sister watching her with Klaus as you three headed for the Mikaelson home and you were happy to be somewhere without photographers following you every where.
"So how was your tour?"
"Amazing but Cam you should have let me fly you out to England." You say following your sister into the Abattoir getting the attention of the others and watched as a sixteen year old Hope grip Elijah's arm tightly squealing when she saw you.
"Hope?"
"It's Y/N! 'Lijah she is like the best rock singer ever. I didn't know Cammi knew her." Hope said quietly squeezing Elijah's arm as he looked at you finding you just beautiful and was surprised that he was attracted to you. Camille took you into the den to meet the family.
"Everyone meet sister." Camille says smiling as you met everyone and made Hope very happy when you signed your newest album and chuckled as Hope hugged you. You looked at Elijah finding him just gorgeous making you want to sink your teeth into him but learned from Camille of his nasty break up and you weren't going to try anything with Elijah.
"Wasn't aware you had a sister Camille."
"Well I don't like bragging about my single rockstar sister, Elijah."
A week into your stay, Elijah found hisself slowly falling for you but wanted to ask Camille first if it was alright for him to date you to which Camille was more than happy to give Elijah the okay. Elijah headed for the kitchen that morning swallowing when he saw you dressed in an open oversized flannel letting him see the lacy bra and panties sitting on the counter eating a bowl of cereal.
"Morning there handsome." You say as Elijah was trying not to stare moving to get some coffee. You licked your lips finding Elijah delicious dressed in his suit but without his suit jacket.
"Goodmorning, sleep well?"
"I did. Would have slept better if you were in me bed, that handsome face of yours between my thighs." You teased hearing Elijah choke on his coffee before looking at you seeing the smirk on your face. It was no secret to those around you that you and Elijah that you two clearly liked each other with the playful flirting two did.
"Is that so?" Elijah tells you moving between your legs making your smirk bigger putting your empty bowl to the side. Your hands came up moving up Elijah's chest looking up at him as he trapped you on the counter.
"Very much so." You say leaning up brushing your lips against his before squeaking when Elijah kissed you. Elijah took control easily pulling a soft moan from you as you wrapping your arms around his neck. You got a groan against your mouth when you bit his lip deeping the kiss as his hands found your hips pulling you close feeling you wrap your legs around his waist.
"Come to my show tonight?" You asked softly kissing a spot under Elijah's ear making him shiver as he moved his hands along your thighs enjoying the feeling of your soft thighs. Elijah was falling more and more for you as his feelings for you were stronger than when he had feelings for Hayley which wad off putting to the vampire because you weren't his kind of woman yet here he was deeply attracted to you.
"Yes, though this would be my first time going to such a show."
"Then I'll make it worth your wild."
Hayley joined the family with Declan who was excited to see his older cousin while Hope seemed overly excited with Klaus sticking close to his daughter as the show you made sure to give them the best seats. The lights cut off as the spot lights cut on and the crowd began cheering as you showed up on stage with guitar in hand and Elijah couldn't look away as you dressed in the flannel from that morning over corset and skinny jeans with heels.
"How is everyone tonight?!" You yelled into the mic making the crowd cheer as Hope and Camille cheered the loudest and Hayley saw how Elijah couldn't stop staring at you along with Klaus who smirked.
"So I am going to start off the show with a song for a special someone. He stole my heart and y'all know how I like my men." You joked as the crowd cheered and Elijah felt his cheeks warm as Camille and Klaus smirked. You played the first few notes making the women in the crowd cheer.
"You don't know that I know, you watch me every night. And I just can't resist the urge to stand here in the light, your greedy eyes upon me and then I come undone and I could close the curtains.... but this too much fun." You sang winking up at Elijah who felt his heart stop, blush coloring his cheeks.
"Your sister is going for it, love."
"Good." Camille whispered back to Klaus as Hayley frowned looking to Elijah who was engrossed with your music.
"I get off on you, getting off on me. I give you what but nothing is for free. It's a give and take, kinda love we make. When the line is crossed, I get off... I get off." You sang as you played fully aware that Elijah hadn't took his eyes off you.
"So much left unspoken between the two of us. It's so much more exciting to look when you can touch, you could say I am different and maybe I'm a freak but I know how to twist ya to bring you to your knees."
"I get off on you getting on me, I give you what you want but nothing is for free. It's a give and take kinda love we make when the line is crossed, I get off....I get off." Hearing you sing, Elijah could see why you were a big rockstar so knowing you shared the same attraction as him was little intimating.
"What you don't know what you can't see, is what I do for you I do for me....I get off on you getting off on me. I give you what you want, yeah." You had the crowd singing along and Elijah in awe as he was really enjoying hisself.
"I get off on you getting off on me. I give you what you want but nothing is for free, it's a give and take kinda love we make. When the line is crossed, I get off....I get off."
"Yea, I get off. Yea, I get off...I get off." You sang ending the song as Elijah swallowed seeing your chest heave as the crowd screamed and cheered. Declan moved next to Camille as you started up another song as Declan had questions about you and since Camille knew you better she could answer them.
"Is Y/N seeing someone?"
"Kinda I think. Maybe testing the waters?" Camille answered looking at Elijah who was clearly very much enamored by you. Camille snapped her head to the stage hearing you clear your thoat.
"I want you all to cheer loudly for my baby sis, cause she is getting married." You say as the crowd cheered loudly making Camille flush as you raised your glass to Camille.
"Now let's get loud and kick up the show!"
Elijah truly enjoyed your performance as it was exciting to hear you dedicated a few more songs to him about your feelings for him. Elijah now wanted you even more and looked over seeing Hope cheering loudly as your show came to an end. You looked seeing Elijah winking at him again smirking when Elijah looked away flustered and Declan noticed looking at Elijah.
"Is it okay that Y/N is going after Hayley's ex?"
"Yeah why? Hayley said she doesn't have feelings for Elijah anymore and Elijah wants to start dating again." Camille answered Declan watching Hope drag Elijah backstage excited to meet the band. Declan frowned a bit thinking you should be with someone that wasn't his girlfriend's ex. You grinned seeing Hope bounced excited letting her meet the band with Klaus watching closely and you moved next to Elijah who smiled down at you.
"See me in my bedroom at home?"
"Yes. I must say you were gorgeous up there." Elijah said making you flush as he gently took your hand kissing it with Camille watching squealing really hoping that you and Elijah would get together.
"Elijah." You breathed feeling Elijah kiss along your back and your tattoo on your lower back, you were marked and bruised in the best ways mostly on your thighs as you found Elijah really really adored your thighs as he spent time marking your thighs. Elijah moved his hands along your sides groaning when you pushed back against him and he moved to your neck marking it also.
"Need something of me, my darling?" Elijah asked pulling back a moment letting you roll onto your back and Elijah leaned down kissing the fleur de lis drop tattooed under your breast as it one of Elijah's favorite things was to find where are your tattoos were.
"Touch me, I want to feel you." You tell Elijah gasping when he pressed closer as you wrapped your arms around his neck. Elijah swooped in kissing you deeply growling when you pulled his hair.
"Does my baby want it rough?" Elijah purred lowly lifting your legs as you smirked leaning up to his ear.
"Give it to me then big guy."
Hayley was upset seeing you in Elijah's lap kissing his face as he smiled nuzzling your neck placing kisses on your neck. Elijah wasn't in his usual suit while you were dressed in Elijah's shirt and Elijah rubbing your thigh whispering in your ear making you giggle.
"Aren't they cute?" Camille gushed seeing Elijah nuzzle his nose against yours until you pressed your face in his neck.
"I guess. Are you really okay with Elijah dating your sister?"
"Yes, both deserves to be happy. Elijah is taking her as a date to the wedding." Camille said annoyed before leaving a jealous Hayley behind. You kissed Elijah again as he melted against you as you both just spent the afternoon wrapped up in your own little bubble.

Title: 'The noble stag's daughter; The First Time she called her mom'
Pairing: Elijah Mikaelson x Gia, Elijah x Daughter!Reader
Warnings: Fluff, Elijah being protective of Y/N and Gia, Angst
Masterlist of this series
Y/N cling to Gia as a coven of witches took them to some kind of alter and there stood Ann with a dark smirk on her face. Gia knew who the witch was as Elijah had told his fiancé about Y/N's birth mother as Ann spotted the engagement ring on the young vampire's hand and how her daughter cling to the woman.
"So you are Elijah's new play thing." Ann said standing up eyes dark as Gia held Y/N closer as the little girl to hide herself in Gia's arms.
"Elijah killed you."
"Celeste isn't the only witch to body jump." Ann says smirking as Gia watched her carefully as Y/N shook in her arms. Ann told the witches to place the two in a room until she ready everything and Gia knew she had to get Y/N out of here not caring if she ended up dying as long as Y/N was out of danger.
"Don't worry. I'll get you out of here."
Elijah paced anger flooded him as Freya worked to find Gia and Y/N as the rest of the family was equally angry. Y/N was with Gia and the girls dress shopping for a wedding dress and bridesmaids dresses when they were ambushed by witches.
"Elijah, please calm down."
"Don't Rebekah. My girls had been taken by a coven of witches for god knows reason." Elijah growled as both Mikael and Klaus stood by ready to hold Elijah back if need be. Rebekah held no hurt understanding how Elijah felt when said she knew where they were.
Gia ran bleeding carrying Y/N as she managed to get them out, Y/N let out a yelp as they fell when a stake hit the back of Gia's leg. Y/N stood up hating how shallow the vampire's breathing was as she was crying trying to get her up.
"Hey sunshine, I need you to run."
"No mama! I won't leave you." Y/N said gripping Gia's hand making the woman tear up not knowing that Y/N saw her as a mother. Gia reached up cupping the girl's cheek wiping the tears away, the vampire took off her engagement ring giving it to Y/N as the girl blinked.
"Mama needs you to, please I don't want Elijah to lose you too sunshine. I need you to live for me."
"Okay mama but daddy will save you."
"I know." Gia said not really believing her but if it got the girl to run then the vampire would lie. Y/n got up again and began running tuning out the screams behind her, the young witch was panting tired and ached when she ran into her grandfather.
"Papa!"
"Little one, where is Gia?" Mikael asked getting down to her eye level frowning seeing her dress torn and muddy messy hair. The others had came running over as Elijah joined Mikael.
"The coven got mama after she got us free." Y/N said giving Elijah the ring as the family noted the young witch called Gia mama. Elijah stood as a dark look came over his face which Rebekah was quick to grab Y/N so she wouldn't see her father like this.
"Elijah?" Klaus questioned watching his brother carefully as it was every clear Elijah had opened the red door.
"Rebekah, Freya take Y/N home. I am going to get Gia." Elijah said leaving as Rebekah looked to Klaus who nodded then followed after Elijah with Kol and Mikael following too.
Elijah had tore though the coven without a second thought and no guilt as all he was focused on was getting Gia back. A witch fell her thoat had been tore out before growling lowly seeing Ann standing behind Gia with a dagger to the female vampire's thoat.
"Hello again my dear Elijah." Ann said looking over Elijah seeing him missing both his suit jacket and tie cover in blood eyes dark. This made Ann shiver as she never once had seen Elijah like this not even when he killed her the first time. Gia felt her breathing hitch seeing Elijah in such a primal state, the beast behind the red door and it was angry.
"Ann, it would be best if you let her go because you will not like what comes next."
"Give me my...." Ann didn't finished her threat as Elijah had quickly grabbed her thoat and Gia was freed from her grip.
"Ann, you have come after my family for the last time." Elijah said lowly tearing out her thoat with her fangs draining her letting the witch's body fall.
Elijah moved to Gia's side gently picking her up and raised his wrist to her mouth, Gia was surprised knowing how Elijah felt about blood sharing and how intimate it was for Elijah as she bit into his wrist drinking from him.
"Let's get you home. Our little one is worried about you." Elijah said pressing a kiss against Gia's temple not letting her go making the female sigh laying her head on his shoulder.
Mikael was a bit impressed with how well Elijah cleared out the coven when he, Kol and Klaus looked for Elijah. They saw Elijah walking up carrying a passed out Gia.
"Burn Ann's body will you, Niklaus."
"I will 'Lijah."
Elijah got home and cleaned up both him and Gia before getting into bed which Elijah wasn't surprised to hear little feet headed for his room. Y/N climbed into the bed happy to see Gia and snuggled into her arms as Elijah leaned over kissing his daughter's head.
"Shhh little one, mama is just resting no more tears." Elijah whispered wiping Y/N's tears from her cheek as the girl cuddled closer to the vampire. Gia woke a few hours later feeling Y/N curled up against her and Elijah's fingers running though her hair making her look seeing him reading.
"Hey."
"Hello my sweet. Feeling better?" Elijah asked smiling at Gia as the female vampire pulled the young witch closer taking comfort in the fact she saved Y/N while Elijah soothe her worry as he gently moved his fingers though her hair still.
"Yes....she called me mama."
"I am aware. Does it scare you?"
"No...I'm glad. It's nice to know she loves me just as much." Gia tells Elijah hearing him chuckle and press kisses on her skin after set his books aside then warp his arms around both Gia and Y/N.
"Mama? Daddy?" Both vampires look seeing a every sleepy witch when she woke up rubbing her eye. Gia smiled moving her hair from her small round face find the half asleep ten year old adorable.
"Hey sunshine." Gia whispered laughing when Y/N brighten up hugging Gia tightly as she hugged the witch back while Elijah smiled watching them both his heart fluttering at the display of affection.
"Let's get some sleep."
"Okay daddy. Night night mama, I love you." Y/N said almost shyly as both Elijah and Gia felt their hearts burst with adoration for the girl squeal with joy when both showered her with affection. Y/N was sandwiched between Elijah and Gia as they relaxed and she was falling asleep with them just cuddling the little witch.
"Love you Elijah."
"And I you, Gia."

The giggles of his sisters echoed through the halls and into the entry way as Elijah opened the front door and stepped into his family home. Hope’s laughter and the laughter of his brothers and their wives joining shortly after. Rebekah was telling stories again, of all the mishaps, mistakes and schemes from over the centuries. It made him smile. Today was a good day.
After everything that had happened over the centuries, particularly the past several decades, it seemed like a dream come true to finally feel like a family again. To feel the same humble happiness that they felt when they were all still human. Like touching the stars with their bare hands. So he savored the memories and the joy and the rest that it brought to himself and those he cared so dearly for.
Walking into the parlor he was greeted by the warm welcomes of his family.
“Brother!” Klaus, all but beamed, “Welcome home!” A chorus of welcome home and welcome back echoed behind him.
Elijah grinned, wholeheartedly approving of the laid back posture of his younger brother, his arm slung over the back of the couch behind the witch that Klaus had fallen in love with. It was a stark contrast to the rage and paranoia that plagued him for so many years. “Its good to be home!”
“How was your meeting with the contractor brother?” Finn queried, far more subdued than the others. Even though they had all forgiven him, and profusely apologized for 1000 years of pain, Finn still didn’t feel like he quite belonged with the rest of his family. A fact Elijah had been eager to fix once the realization had set in of exactly how shitty their treatment of him was. Courtesy of Camille, of course. However 900 years in a coffin is not forgotten overnight, so it was still a work in progress. So it further proved to warm Elijah’s heart when his eyes laid upon Finn and found him squished between Freya and Kol’s firecracker of a fiancé, instead of locked in his room.
Elijah smiled at Finn and placed his suit jacket over the back of an unoccupied chair, “It was good. We got all of the final details and planning done and now its we are just waiting for the town to give us a building permit”
“that’s good” Finn replied with a nod.
For context, Y/n was pregnant with Elijah’s child, a miracle given in the form of a spell cast as a wedding gift and created by Kol and Klaus’ wife. Y/n had all but declared that she wanted their children to have as normal lives as physically possible and while the Mikaelsons were hesitant to go along with this plan, it was agreed that perhaps living in a mansion with 4 witches, 6 vampires, and 3 hybrids was not a normal childhood. So it was agreed that they would own a separate family home to raise their children in while still visiting as often as physically possible.
As Elijah looked around and took in the the scene around him he noticed that y/n was not among his siblings and so begged the question as to where was his darling wife?
“If I may ask, where is y/n?”
It was Kol’s fiancé that pipped up. “She came rushing in with a bag, declared that she was going to enjoy her new socks and then she was taking a nap, You know how my twin is Elijah, she gets excited over the simplest things, and then she ran upstairs without another word. Imagine she is asleep by now. Probably has been for a while. ”
Elijah smiled and Keelin looked at her curiously, ”Socks?”
Elijah cleared her confusion “Yes Keelin. Socks. Its seems that my darling wife has developed an affinity for collecting and wearing the most colorful knee-high socks she can find”
“It is rather amusing to watch auntie y/ns excitement.” Hope testified from where she had tucked herself under her father’s other arm. “She rambled on about a pair she had found with neon green strips, all while eating a plate of bacon in the kitchen the other day”
Everyone laughed at the image, and Elijah just shook his head with mirth in his eyes, ”yes well, if you don’t mind I am going to join my wife and unborn child in bed. Goodnight to you all” and a chorus of goodnights followed him down the hall.
As Elijah climbed the stairs he couldn’t help but be reminded of how grateful of all of the things that life has granted him over the years. He had a beautiful wife that loved him and siblings that adored him and soon he would have children of his own.
As Elijah approached the door to his bedroom he couldn’t help but notice something was wrong. Stopping to listen he could hear sniffling and shaky breathes just beyond the door way.
“y/n?” he took the handle and pushed the door open.
There sitting in an armchair in the corner of their room was y/n. She was wearing one of Elijah’s Cambridge sweatshirts and a pair of his boxers. The sweatshirt was cream in color and it matched cream colored socks she held in her hand. While Elijah would normally fawn over how adorable she looked round with his child and dressed in his clothes he was more focused on the tears stains that and puffy red eyes that decorated the face of the love of his life.
Elijah was quick to kneel in front of her and cup her face in his hand “Y/n? Baby what’s wrong? Are you alright?” He placed his other hand on her belly and searched for some kind of injury to suggest that she was hurt.
She looked at him with a watery smile, kissed his hand and said “I found a pair of socks that would match my favorite one of your sweatshirts and I got so excited to wear them.”
She held up the socks and gestured to her feet. “But I cant reach, so I cant put them on. And it made me so sad that I cried.”
Elijah’s face relaxed and he gave a sigh of relief, realizing it was something simple that he could easily fix. So he gently took the socks from her hands and unfolded them so he could put them on her. He rolled them up and then pulled them all the way up her legs to just below her knees and then gave a kiss to her nose. “there “ he whispered. “all better.”
“thank you ‘lijah.” She mumbled and then yawned.
“Oh. I think its bedtime.” He stated playfully.
“Im pregnant not two.” She grumbled with another yawn.
Elijah looked at her with nothing but adoration and said “baby you just cried over a pair of socks.” In response she pouted and Elijah couldn’t help but smile.
“Alrighty. Bedtime!” He said scooping her up bridal-style.
“you can’t be serious!” y/n scoffed.
“Dead serious!”
“Eli!” she whined, “don’t make puns when im annoyed at you! Then I can’t enjoy them!”
Elijah only laughed, and then slowly spun her around in a circle. “wheeeeeee!” he said before gently tossing her on the bed.
y/n looked up at her husband in exasperation as she watched him use vampire speed to strip to his underwear and climb onto the bed like a leopard on the prowl.
“I love you.” he purred pressing a kiss to her swollen belly, eyes playfully looking up at her.
She raised an eyebrow, “Me? Or your children?”.
“Both” he replied, gently coercing her backwards onto the bed as he crawled farther up her body his hands rubbing circles into the sides of her stomach. y/n rolled her eyes and chuckled her amusement as he enveloped her in another kiss.
Sighing happily y/n ran her hands through Elijah’s hair, as he eagerly deepened the kiss. However Elijah had to stop this blissful moment rather short.
He furrowed his brow and pulled back slightly so he could see his wife’s eyes, “Children?” he questioned. “plural?”
Now it was y/n’s turn to grin playfully.
“I went to the doctors today.” She said eyes twinkling with mischief. “And i learned something rather interesting.”
Elijah narrowed his eyes, recognizing that she was toying with him. “did you now?”
“I did” she purred rubbing her hands down his neck and shoulders. “Apparently twins are not always magical miracle coincidences. More often than not they are genetic.” and as her smile grew bigger so did Elijah’s. “And considering that I am half of a set, I’d say the trait has passed on.”
Elijah’s grinn was getting bigger by the second. “you mean to tell me. That not only am I getting one daughter.” he leaned in closer until their noses were touching. “I’m getting two?”
“yes” she whispered seductively and elijah expressed his joy by kissing her again.
“And do you wanna know what else I learned?” y/n said slyly as he trailed his kisses down her throat. He grunted quietly for her to continue and y/n leaned up and murmured in his ear, “Both of your ‘daughters’ are sons”
Elijah groaned and pulled back up to her face, “damn. I was really hoping was really hoping for a mini you.” he admitted swallowing y/ns laughter in another kiss.
Y/n pulled him to lay beside her as they both got under the duvet and settled comfortably for bed. y/n lay on her side facing Elijah and he buried his face in her hair his hands finding their way to her rounded abdomen, joyful and excited to meet his children in the nearby future.
“Eli?” she said softly. “will you sing to me?” she asked looking up at him.
“Of course, My love” and so Elijah sang the same nordic lullaby his mother taught him all those years ago and they both drifted off to sleep.

Get Me to the Church On Time

Enzo St. John x Mikaelson! Reader
Words: 3037
Part 3 of 4 (Part One, Part Two)
Summary: Preparations for the wedding are in full swing and it’s time to go dress shopping. With you out with the girls, Enzo is left to find the perfect suit with none other than your protective older brothers. Needless to say, tensions are high.
Note: Part Three!!! And I’m bringing in the Vampire Diaries crew for the wedding. More Damon/Enzo bromance on the way, along with some girl fun with Caroline and Bonnie. Like the others, this one jumps around a bit some more, but I hope it isn’t too confusing. I’m just bad at writing transitions. (Repost Notes: Ugh, going through these makes me so happy, you guys!
-
The sound of suitcases rolling on the sidewalk made your heart leap. You sat up from your spot on the couch, Enzo stirring slightly next to you. He made a sound of confusion as you smacked his arm.
“They’re here!” You exclaimed, sprinting outside. The blonde and the brunette were arguing over something but immediately stopped when they saw you.
“I told you this was the right place!” Caroline squealed, rushing towards you for a hug. Bonnie set her bag down and joined the group hug.
“I can’t believe this is all happening.” You sighed as the three of you pulled apart. “There’s not even a week left until the wedding and I haven’t even found the dress yet.” Caroline laced her arm through yours and Bonnie’s.
“Why do you think we’re here?” She beamed. They grabbed their bags and you led them into the compound where Freya invited Caroline in and Enzo stiffened uncomfortably.
“Bonnie… Caroline. How nice to see you.” He put on a tight smile and Bonnie rolled her eyes. He rubbed his hands together, signaling his discomfort. He didn’t exactly see eye-to-eye with your best friends. “Well, I’m sure Y/N can show you to your rooms.” He cast you a pleading look and you smirked.
“Right this way ladies.” You led them away, the two of them turning back at Enzo and giggling. You couldn’t help but laugh along. “You guys really hate him, don’t you?” You said as soon as the door to their room was closed.
“We don’t… hate him.” Bonnie clarified. “We just-hmm.” She tried to think of the right word. Caroline kicked her shin. “Ow! What was that for?”
“If you like Enzo, we like Enzo.” Caroline promised. Bonnie nodded in skeptical agreement. “Besides, he’s the reason we get to go dress shopping, on an unlimited budget, in New Orleans.” She took your face in her hands. “You are not allowed to worry about anything. We are here now and we shall tend to everything. Right Bonnie?”
“What are bridesmaids for?” She smiled, her skepticism breaking away.
“I completely agree.” Rebekah said from the doorway. Her arms were crossed and her face held a dangerously smug look. As the maid of honor she was going to have to interact with the other bridesmaids at some point. With a quick begging glance from you, her smug look spread into a sincere smile. “And in order to do that, I suggest that we set aside our differences for the coming days. From now until the reception ends, we are nothing more than the friends and family to my dear sister Y/N.” The two girls considered this and shrugged.
“I don’t see why not.” Caroline finally said and motioned for Rebekah to come further into the room, pulling a small planner out of her suitcase. “Today is dress shopping day. While we will be at the boutique at 2:00, the boys will be taking Enzo to get his suit. After that is all taken care of, Enzo and Y/N will get to have one final date night to themselves before becoming a married couple.” You looked down at your watch.
“Well it’s only noon, so we’ll just have to find something to keep us busy until the appointment.” You suggested showing the girls around town, but you could tell Bonnie was tired from the long trip here. “Perhaps Rebekah can catch me up on everything I’ve missed down here in the quarter.”
“How about I treat us all to lunch?” Rebekah offered. “Just us girls, of course.” She winked at your two best friends, who still seemed slightly uneased by her presence. You clasped your hands together mouthing the word “Please” over and over again. Bonnie grinned, only mildly reluctant.
“So long as you’re paying.”
The four of you headed down the stairs to find Enzo surrounded by your three brothers, all looking as intimidating and menacing as ever. When he saw you, Enzo smiled nervously.
“There’s my lovely fiancé!” He exclaimed, wrapping his arm around you and looking back at your brothers with a gaze that said ‘See, I’m safe now!’. “Klaus and I were just talking about you.”
“Oh really?” You inquired, shooting Nik and deadly glare. “I would love to stay and chat, but we’ve decided to go out to lunch before we head to the Bridal Boutique this afternoon.” Enzo went pale.
“Just the four of you?” He squeaked and Kol snickered.
“Well it’s bad luck for the groom to see the bride’s dress before the wedding.” You shrugged. “Besides, you have to go look at suits with my brothers.” His eyes were filled with a comical amount of fear. “Also…” You pulled him aside, though you knew everyone would be listening in. It was hard to have a private conversation in a room full of people with supernatural hearing. “Don’t you need to make a phone call?”
“I was… planning on it.” He nodded and you smacked the back of his head. “Ow! What in bloody hell was that for?”
“Call. Him.” You growled and he slumped his shoulders, groaning.
“Okay fine.” You started to walk away, but he kept his hand on your elbow. “And do you think it’s a good idea to leave me with them?” You turned to your brothers.
“Klaus will be on his best behavior, won’t you Nik.” You said, the threat of ripping him limb from limb should anything happen to Enzo in your voice. “Besides, Elijah will be there and he will keep the others in line.”
“I shall do my best.” Elijah chuckled, putting a hand on Enzo’s shoulder. He tried not to flinch.
“Great! Well we will be heading out then. I’ll see you later tonight.” You place a quick kiss on Enzo’s cheek before rushing off the girls.
The impending doom looming over him intensified as Klaus stepped forward.
“Well if they’re going out, I don’t see why we can’t get a bite to eat.” He stared menacingly at Enzo, who gulped. “Who’s hungry?”
-
You stood in front of the mirror, running your hands down the tulle skirt. It was a gorgeous dress, but it just wasn’t the dress. Luckily, when you came out of the dressing room, your entourage agreed with your doubts in a very vocal manner.
“No.” Rebekah shook her head, her eyes traveling up and down the length of fabric. “You look like a glorified Barbie.”
“Actually, I agree. Way too much sparkle.” Caroline quipped. Bonnie nodded. The attendant came in asking what everyone thought.
“My sister shall look nothing less than royalty.” Rebekah commanded. She pulled the woman towards her. “Find her the most elegant dress in the store, then come back and ask me.” She compelled and the woman sashayed off.
“And make sure it’s sexy!” Caroline called after her. The four of you giggled.
It was almost perfect, but a part of your heart was still aching. You knew exactly what was missing. You felt your shoulders fall and looking around, your eyes filled with tears.  Caroline immediately noticed and jumped off of the couch.
“You can’t cry yet! You haven’t even picked a dress!” She whined, putting her hands on your shoulders, trying to read what was wrong. You laughed and wiped the moisture from your cheeks.
“I just wish Elena could be here. With all of us.” You had always imagined all of your friends being there if you ever got married and now… it just seemed incomplete. Bonnie nodded in agreement and held up her glass of champagne.
“To Elena.” She toasted. “I’m sure she’s watching over this from whatever weird, supernatural coma world she’s in.” The rest of you held up your glasses with small, sad smiles and echoed.
“To Elena.”
-
Enzo stood uncomfortably as the tailor fitted the suit onto him. The rest of the room was completely silent, with the occasional question from the tailor that Enzo would answer quickly and quietly. Klaus sat, sharpening the leg of the wooden table next to him. Elijah was flipping through the newspaper and Kol just looked bored.
“Do stop that Niklaus,” Elijah sighed. “You’re being childish.”
“Someone has to be prepared for when this all blows over.” Klaus shrugged. Enzo clenched his fists but remained silent. “Now as to how I’ll kill him, I haven’t entirely decided.”
“I think you two should be a little more excited.” Kol stood up, circling around Enzo and pointing something out to the tailor. “We are to have a new brother! Someone else to add to the family drama. To torment for the rest of our never ending lives.” He grinned. Enzo couldn’t tell if Kol was mocking him, or attempting to be sincere. From what Y/N had told him about her twin, he figured it was a bit of both and the best he was going to get.
“I’m just taking the necessary precaution for when this riff raff breaks our sister’s heart.” He threw the stake at Enzo, who barely ducked in time.
“That is it!” Enzo shouted, his temper finally getting the better of him. “I have done nothing but love Y/N for as long as I have had the pleasure of knowing her. How dare you accuse me of not meeting your standards- which, by the way, are designed for every man who comes into your sister's lives to fail. Y/N loves me and I love her and I will not stand for anyone who suggests otherwise.” The sudden outburst made all three brothers stare at Enzo in surprise. Elijah put down his paper, seeing his younger brother draw closer to the young vampire.
Enzo’s eyes widened with fear as Klaus came towards him. This was it. This was the end. And he didn’t even get to finish the suit. The hybrid leaned in close, his voice deep and mischievous.
“Now there’s the spirit I’ve heard so much about.” Klaus smirked. Enzo lowered his brows in confusion. “No need to fuss, I’m still planning your gruesome death, but for now…” He clapped his hands together. “We have a wedding to prepare for.” He tossed Enzo’s cell phone to him. “And if I remember correctly you have a phone call to make. Tell Damon I said hello.” Klaus compelled the tailor to take a break and the three Mikaelsons left the room.
Enzo sighed and dialed the number.
“What now?” Damon answered.
“I have to ask you something…” Enzo ran his fingers through his hair. Why was this so hard? Damon was probably his only friend in the living world, so he didn’t really have any other options. “You see, Y/N and I are getting married-”
“Yeah, Caroline told me.” Damon interrupted. “Congrats on becoming part of the psycho original family.”
“Damon,” Enzo snapped, growing impatient. “I’m trying to ask you to be my best man.” The other line went silent.
“Wow…” Damon blew out a breath. “I mean… yeah. Sure. Why not? I love weddings.” Changing his tone, he poured himself a drink as usual and made a mental note to get a tux. “Where are you getting married again? Is it a destination wedding, because I would love to go to Hawaii-”
“It’s in New Orleans.” Enzo said and he could hear Damon nearly choke on his drink.
“No. No way. You’re on your own.” As he went to hang up, Enzo started to beg.
“Please Damon. I know that you don’t have a great reputation with Y/N’s family, but this is really important for me.” He pleaded. With still no answer, he let out a desperate sigh. “You’re the only friend I’ve got.” Damon was quiet for a long time, having an angry debate with himself before finally answering.
“I’ll be there.”
-
The night was glistening with stars, along with the multitude of candles Caroline had strung about the courtyard. She had transformed the space into the perfect place for one final romantic dinner before Enzo and you tied the knot. Bonnie, Rebekah, and Freya had spent the past two hours helping you get ready. Caroline had insisted on formal- and on picking out the dress. As much as you hated to admit, your friend had impeccable taste. The dress was the perfect mix of sexy and elegant, much like the dress you had chosen earlier that day.
Enzo stood patiently outside your door, offering his arm as you finally emerged. He tried to keep his jaw from dropping.
“You look stunning.” He smiled and suddenly all of the feelings you had first felt when the two of you started dating came rushing back. All of the nerves mixed with excitement. All of the short electric bursts shooting through your skin. Everything burned brighter and lit up your face in a way that made you glow. As he led you down the stairs, your eyes glittered in the lights. Enzo couldn’t imagine you looking more beautiful than you did in that moment.
He pulled out your chair for you before taking his seat across the table. A bottle of wine waited beside a basket of fresh bread from a nearby bakery.
At first you couldn’t think of anything to say. You just twisted your pasta around and around on your fork as Enzo poured the wine. He, too, seemed to feel the awkwardness between you and he chuckled softly to himself.
“Why does it suddenly feel so much harder to talk?” He asked in a tone of amused frustration. You laughed, letting your shoulders relax as you took a sip of wine.
“I was thinking exactly the same thing.” You sighed, letting a genuine smile spread across your face. “It’s probably just the nerves for the wedding, but I can hardly breathe half the time, let alone hold a conversation.”
“It is daunting, isn’t it?” He mused, placing a hand on top of yours. “An eternity with me?”
“Frankly, I can’t think of anything better.” You smiled and raised your glass for your second toast that day. “Here’s to the next five days before the rest of our eternity.” He clinked his glass gently against yours, admiring the view before him. The candle light made a halo around your head and the flowers that Caroline had picked brought out the color of your eyes.
“You have truly outdone yourself.” Klaus told Caroline, who was standing next to him on the balcony above the couple.
“It’s their last dinner as a non-married couple.” She shrugged. “I figured a little romance was necessary.”  She eyed him suspiciously. “So you’re really okay with this?”
“Okay with what?” He asked innocently, though he knew exactly what she meant. She cocked an eyebrow.
“With your sister getting married.” She flipped her hair over her shoulder. “I mean, every time Rebekah has found a lover, he is either brutally murdered or he mysteriously vanishes.”
“I haven’t decided what I shall do with Lorenzo yet.” Klaus gave her a mischievous look and she rolled her eyes.
“He might be a handful, but Enzo is a pretty good guy. Especially when he’s with Y/N.” She thought for a second before adding. “He kind of reminds me of you.”
“Surely he doesn’t meet my grand stature.” Klaus brought her hand up to his lips. “If you would excuse me, dear Caroline, I believe I shall turn in for the night.” He saw the blush rush to her cheeks and smirked before walking away with a slight skip in his step.
As you watched your brother make his way to his room, you stood from the table and excused yourself for a moment, cutting Klaus off before he reached the door.
“Can I talk to you, Nik?” You asked and he tilted his head to the side with curiosity. You both went into the study, shutting the door behind you. Elijah had been relaxing in his favorite chair after his own romantic dinner with Hayley. He put down his book and looked at you in anticipation.
“Is something wrong?” He wondered and you shook your head.
“I have something I have been meaning to ask the two of you…” You paused, trying to think of how to phrase what you were about to say. It was one of the most important questions besides your proposal to Enzo itself. “You see… I would very much like it if- well you know Kol isn’t all that sentimental, and you both mean so much to me. You’re my brothers, for heaven’s sake! You have always been there for me no matter what trouble I found myself in.” You knew you were ranting again and took a deep breath, trying to get to the point. “I love you both so dearly and I was hoping that you would both give me away.”
At first neither brother said anything. They just stared at you as emotion filled their eyes and loving smiles appeared on their faces.
“It would be an honor.” Elijah beamed. Klaus shrugged.
“Well I suppose I have nothing else going on.” He teased. You pulled both of them into a hug, tears of joy filling your eyes. Elijah had always been there for you, but it was Klaus that you were so ecstatic about agreeing. It meant that- in his own, strange way- that he approved of you being married to Enzo. And that meant the world to you.
Elijah placed a light kiss on your forehead, Klaus doing the same, and the two pulled away.
“Now, I believe that you have a romantic dinner to get back to.” Elijah pointed out. “And we mustn't keep Lorenzo waiting.”
“Let him wait!” Klaus said draping his arm over your shoulder. “We take priority in this household.” Both you and Elijah chuckled and you kissed Klaus’ cheek.
“Elijah’s right, Nik. I should get back. Before he runs off with some trollop off the street.” You gave him a wink. Kol had told you about the suit fitting and you couldn’t help but tease Nik about it. You knew he was just being his usual over-protective self, but your fiancé had stood up to him. It made you love Enzo even more- something you didn’t even think was possible.

Nothing Will Ever Change (This Love of Mine)
Tumblr media
PAIRING: Marcel Gerard X Reader
WORD COUNT: 3,335
WARNINGS: None. Just fluffity fluff fluff fluff.
SUMMARY: Marcel returns from war to his estranged family, and his fiancée. When Klaus threatens her, Marcel realises it’s time to come clean about who he is.
A/N: Title taken from the song by Jimmy Jules. Also, I have a headcanon that Marcel is fluent in French, so translations in italics.
JANUARY, 1919
Whoever said money couldn’t buy status had clearly never met the Mikaelsons.
You didn’t know much about them other than what Marcel had told you: that they were farmers who were orphaned but managed to find some way up the social ladder by acquiring property all over the United States. It would be a heart-warming story if they weren’t so...arrogant.
Everyone could see it when they walked into a room - the way they always expected to be approached and never the other way around. Sure, some of them were always polite for the most part, but they all maintained an air of superiority, spoke to you in a way that reminded you that you’d never be them.
You weren’t fond of the Mikaelsons, and it seemed like the feeling was mutual. They’d reluctantly invited you to the party they were throwing in honour of Marcel’s return from the war. Elijah - being one of the few who tried to make you feel like a part of the family - asked on his family’s behalf which made it difficult to say no. Still, the party was for Marcel, and you’d been waiting four years to see him again, so you graciously accepted the invite.
The party was already in full swing by the time you arrived. You looked around, searching for any familiar faces, but found none other than the Mikaelsons. They were surrounded by people - the mayor being one of them - who were tripping over themselves to be gracious to the Mikaelsons and gain favour with them.
Not wanting to join the other guests in fawning all over the family, you stood alone at the bar, nursing a stiff drink. All you could think about was Marcel. Before long, you began to feel eyes burning a hole in the back of your head and turned to find Klaus Mikaelson staring at you. It wasn’t obvious all the time, but you got the feeling that he didn’t like you very much.
Ignoring his glare, you returned to your drink - impatiently waiting for Marcel’s return. But alas, Klaus couldn’t take the hint, and within seconds he was standing by your side.
A charming smile graced his lips as he greeted you, “Y/N. It’s a pleasure to have you here.”
“Is it?” you cocked a brow, “Because I think you only invited me because Elijah asked you to. Not that Marcel would’ve stayed longer than five minutes if he found out I wasn’t here. ”
He chuckled.
“I see you’re not in the mood to exchange pleasantries,” he said.
“What gave it away?”
His smile dropped and he leaned in closer, “Look, whatever I’ve done to upset you-”
“It’s not what you’ve done to me, it’s what you did to him,” you snapped, “Do you realise we wouldn’t even be having this party if it weren’t for you people?”
He avoided your eyes, his confident stance wavering.
“You drove him away.”
Klaus was silent for a moment as your words sunk in. It was clear by the guilty expression on his face that he knew you were right. You expected him to leave you alone after that, but instead, another Mikaelson approached - a smirk on her lips and a champagne glass in her hands.
“My, my, you could cut the tension with a knife.”
You rolled your eyes and turned back to the bar, “I’m not in the mood Rebekah.”
Klaus smiled as he looked at his sister, “Yes, she’s feeling a bit pissy this evening.”
You glared at him.
“Leave the girl alone, Nik,” Rebekah said, “She has enough on her mind.”
He shot a glance at you, a thoughtful look appearing on his face, but then he let out a quiet sigh and walked away.
A breath of relief escaped your lips once he was no longer in your presence. Rebekah stepped closer to you and tilted her head as she looked at you.
“So, what’s got you in such a mood?”
You let out another sigh. “I just need to see him, Rebekah,” you said, your voice sounding desperate, “It’s been so long and I just...I just need him here.”
She nodded and placed a hand on your back. “I understand, dear,” she smiled, “Come find me later, yeah?”
You cracked a smile and let out a sigh of relief when she walked away, thankful to be left alone. When you went to down the rest of your drink, the ring on your finger caught your eye and your thoughts immediately travelled back to Marcel.
Putting the glass down on the table, you twirled the ring on your finger, deep in thought. You never did manage to get it resized, there was never any time. Marcel had given it to you the night before he left. You’d been going out of your mind with worry since he decided to enlist, fearful of what could happen to him while he was gone. He called it a proposal, but it was obvious that it was more of a promise that he would come back to you.
And tonight he finally would.
You were reminiscing about the days before Marcel left when you felt arms circle your waist, and a face nuzzle into your neck. Heart hammering in your chest, you reached up slowly and touched the man’s cheek.
“Marcel?”
He hummed in response and placed a kiss on your shoulder. “It’s me, baby.”
A gasp escaped your lips as you closed your eyes and turned around, pulling his lips against yours in a fervent kiss. He grinned as you kissed him, a laugh even slipping out as you wrapped your arms around his neck, your hand resting at the nape of his neck.
You’d thought as soon as you saw Marcel you’d feel relaxed, but instead, your heart was beating out of your chest. Every inch of your body was lit aflame when he placed his hands on your hips and pulled you closer.
“God, I missed you,” he mumbled against your lips just as you broke apart.
He rose one of his hands to cup your cheek, his thumb wiping away a tear that had rolled down.
“Hey. No tears, okay?”
You wiped them away, unable to stop smiling. “It’s just so surreal,” you said, “I can’t believe you’re here. I feel like I can finally breathe again.”
“You think you missed me?” he scoffed, “I practically drove the guys in my unit crazy talking about you.”
He still had his arm around you, not wanting to let go. You let yours fall from his neck, one hand resting on his chest, “Four years.”
“Four years.”
You shook your head in wonder as you looked at him again. From his perfect, dazzling smile to those loving brown eyes. Even after everything he’d been through, he looked exactly the same.
“You don’t look like you’ve aged a day.”
Without missing a beat, he said, “I could say the same about you, pretty girl.”
You looked away, heat rising to your cheeks, “Sweet-talker.”
He laughed again, surprised that he could still fluster you even after so long together. Glancing down, he noticed the sparkling ring around your finger.
“You’re still wearing it,” he said and raised a brow, “I take it I haven’t been replaced yet?”
“As if anyone could ever replace you, Marcel Gerard.”
He held your loving gaze for a moment before shaking his head in incredulity and leaning down to kiss you again. It was softer and much more tender this time.
He rested his forehead against yours, breathing heavily. “Let’s get outta here,” he whispered, looking down at you with lustful eyes.
“Yeah?”
“Yeah,” he said, laughing as he pressed quick kisses from your cheek down to your jaw and neck. He took your hand, leading you towards the exit, when Klaus suddenly appeared in front of you.
“Marcel,” he said, his hands clasped together behind his back, “I didn’t see you come in.”
Marcel let out a heavy sigh, but the grin on his lips never faltered. “Klaus. Nice to see you.”
Klaus looked taken aback by the response. “On your way out?” he asked, clearly offended, “Didn’t think to pop over to your family and say hello?”
Marcel rolled his eyes. “I just wanted some private time with my girl, Klaus, it’s really not a big deal.”
You noticed the sudden change in Klaus’ expression. In a second, his polite smile and mischievous eyes morphed into a look you could only describe as evil. You’d heard rumours about the Mikaelsons. About Klaus. Rumours you didn’t believe. But if there were monsters in New Orleans - you had definitely just seen one.
But then like a storm cloud passing, his polite smile was back. “Well, perhaps you and I could have a drink upstairs before you leave, Marcel.”
“Klaus, I really just want to-”
“Or...we could take Y/N out for a drink.”
You felt Marcel’s body stiffen under your touch at those words. His jaw clenched as he gripped your hand tighter, taking a more protective stance in front of you.
Eventually, he sighed deeply and shook his head, turning to you. “Attends ici, ma chérie,” he whispered as he pressed a kiss to your cheek, “I’ll be right back.” (Wait here, sweetheart)
Klaus’s smile widened, clearly satisfied by Marcel’s decision. The two disappeared up the stairs and into the Mikaelson family room.
                            __________________________
“So, Marcellus,” Klaus began as he poured himself a drink, “We throw you this party to welcome you home, even invite your little girlfriend to make you happy, and yet you can’t even grace us with your presence.”
“You visited me while I was gone, it’s not like you haven’t seen me in years,” Marcel said, “And she’s not my girlfriend, she’s my fiancée. And I haven’t seen her in four years.”
“So, you’d rather spend your first evening back with her than you would your own family?”
Marcel didn’t respond, but his silence spoke volumes.
“I see,” Klaus nodded and downed his drink, “Perhaps if the girl is taken out of the equation you’ll remember exactly where your loyalties should lie.”
Marcel sped in front of the door, blocking it as Klaus stormed towards him.
“You are not touching her, Klaus!” he yelled as he shoved Klaus back, “You’re gonna kill her because I wanna spend time with her? What the hell is wrong with you?”
“I assure you, Marcellus, my reasonings for getting rid of that girl are just.”
“Like they were when you daggered Rebekah for five decades?”
“You haven’t been the same since she entered your life,” Klaus said, “She has been tearing you away from your family.”
“She is my family.”
Klaus’ face hardened. “Is that so?”
“Damn straight.”
He stepped closer to Klaus and began speaking in a scarily low voice. “I let go of Rebekah for you, Klaus, but I am telling you right now,” he said, eyes burning with anger, “I would see this city burn before I do the same with Y/N.”
Klaus was silent for a moment as he mulled over Marcel’s words. It seemed he had lost the fight, until a thought occurred to him.
“And what if she lets you go?” he said, the hint of a smile on his lips and a glint in his eye, “I wonder what she’ll think when she finds out just what kind of monster you are.”
Marcel’s jaw clenched, “You wouldn’t.”
“Oh, I would,” he smirked, “I do believe that lasting relationships must be built on honesty and trust. I’d consider me telling her the truth a favour.”
Marcel balled his fists, looking away from Klaus to control his anger. He knew there was no winning a fight with an Original - even if he was burning with rage.
Klaus chuckled to himself and walked over to the door. “Don’t worry, I’ll allow you this one night with her,” he said as he walked out, “Welcome home, Marcellus.”
                            __________________________
Marcel was silent as you watched him put his hat down on your coffee table. He hadn’t been himself since you left the party. You twirled the set of keys in your hand, unsure of how to proceed.
“You haven’t said a word since we left the mansion.”
He didn’t respond.
You let out a heavy sigh as you walked towards him slowly. “You know, I talked to a couple other ladies whose men came back from the war too,” you began, “They said that they weren’t the same. The things they saw over there...it changed them.”
You waited with baited breath for a response, almost afraid of what he might say. He hadn’t seemed different when you were at the party, but the quiet was making you think his mind was elsewhere.
“I’ve seen worse than I did when I was over there,” he said, his back to you, “That’s not it.”
“Then tell me what’s on your mind.”
For a second, you thought he wasn’t going to elaborate, and you felt your heart sink. Then he turned around slowly, a thoughtful look on his face as he spoke.
“You and I have been together for six years,” he said, almost like he couldn’t believe it, “And yet, there’s still stuff about me - my past - that you don’t know about.”
A nervous smile emerged on your lips as you moved closer to him. “What are you talking about? You’ve told me about your past.”
“Not about my parents. Not about the way I grew up.”
“You told me all that,” you argued, “You told me you never knew your parents. That Klaus’ family adopted you when you were young and you grew up with them as your siblings.”
He shook his head slowly, wiping his mouth with his hand in frustration and placing a hand on his hip. It was clear that he was wrestling with something in him - it was tearing him apart.
“Marcel,” you said as you took his hand, “Tu peux me dire ñ'importe quoi.” (You can tell me anything.)
He looked down at your hands, his eyes staying on them for a long time before he finally spoke. “I wasn’t honest with you about that,” his voice wavered and he paused to take a breath, “Klaus’ family didn’t adopt me...Klaus did.”
You froze for a minute, trying to understand what he just said because it made no sense.
“That’s impossible,” you said, “He would’ve been a boy himself.”
“I was born in 1810 on a plantation here in Louisiana,” he explained, “My mother was a slave, and my father, the Governor...he was her — our master.”
“What? If you were born in 1810 that would make you like—”
“A hundred and nine.”
Your eyes widened in shock as you snatched your hands away from his and stepped back, “Mon Dieu...” (My God...)
He reached out for you, but you took another step back, turning away from him to compose yourself. The stories you’d heard as a child, the ones every child in New Orleans has heard...they were all true.
“Demon of the night,” you whispered, “You’re one of them.”
“Yes.”
“And the Mikaelsons?”
“They’re all like me.”
You took in a deep breath and turned to look at him, arms folded as you eyed him nervously. He was standing a few feet away from you, clearly giving you space to digest everything. It wasn’t working however, because you had a million burning questions and no clue how to feel.
“The things they say about you, your kind...are they all true?” you asked.
“Some of it, yes. But not all of it.”
“So, the blood drinking and the mind control-”
“That’s all true.”
You sucked in a sharp breath once more and looked to the ground. All of this was difficult to hear. But it hurt more to know that he wasn’t honest with you.
“There’s a lot that I want to know,” you began as you lifted your gaze to meet his, “But I only have three big questions.”
He stepped towards you, surprised when you didn’t move back, and took your hand in his. “Anything you wanna know, just ask and I promise I’ll tell you everything.”
You nodded, mustering up a small smile before looking down again. “Have you killed people?”
“That’s a difficult question.”
“How is that a difficult question?”
“I’ve been a vampire for eighty-four years, Y/N,” he said, “During that time, I’ve fought in two wars. Yes, I’ve killed people, but never innocents. Not even when the hunger was unbearable.”
Again, you nodded slowly. You couldn’t deny the relief you felt after hearing that.
“Does Klaus? Kill innocents?” you asked, deciding on a follow-up question.
“He’s lived a lot longer than I have,” Marcel sighed, “I don’t think you get to be a vampire for almost a thousand years without getting some blood on your hands.”
“Wow,” you whispered. You’d always known there was something about that family, but you never would’ve guessed this. Suddenly you could understand the arrogance — you too would feel superior to everyone if you’d lived a thousand years of strength, speed, and the ability to get whatever your heart desired.
Marcel cocked his head at you, “You’ve been quiet for a minute. You wanna ask the rest of your questions?”
You blinked back into reality. “Yeah, uh...” you looked up at him, hesitant to ask him the next question, “This isn’t easy to say, Marcel, but I have to ask.”
“Go ahead.”
You bit your lower lip nervously, “Have you ever drank from me? Or used your compulsion on me?”
“Wow, um...” Marcel stepped back, your hand falling from his. He was taken aback. “No, I’ve...I’d never do that to you.”
“Marcel, I’m sorry, but I had to ask if-”
“I get it.”
“-we were ever gonna be comfortable with each other again.”
“Yeah, it’s okay. I understand. It’s fine.” He spoke the words quickly, hoping to sound like he didn’t care, but it was clear by the way he dropped his shoulders and avoided your eyes just how much the question had hurt him.
You walked towards him, this time being the one to take his hands, “Je suis désolé.” (I’m sorry)
“C'est pas grave.” He placed a hand against your cheek and smiled softly. You leaned into it, closing your eyes as you sighed deeply. Even after all you’d learned, he still felt like home. (It’s alright)
“Final question,” you said as you stood up straight and looked at him earnestly, “Why didn’t you tell me?”
“What?”
“Why didn’t you tell me you were a vampire?” you repeated, “J'aime tout de toi, tu le sais. You’re my family, so why didn’t you trust me?” (I love everything about you, you know that.)
“I trust you, I just—” He paused to collect his thoughts. “At first, I was being selfish. You liked me as I was, and as a bonus, had a wit sharp enough to leave even Klaus speechless,” he chuckled as you rolled your eyes while fighting off a smile, “But soon enough it became about protecting you from all of that death and darkness.”
“Tu aurais du me le dire.” (You should’ve told me)
Marcel frowned and pulled you close, “Je t'aime et je ne voulais pas te perdre.” (I love you, and I didn’t wanna lose you.)
“Mon coeur,” you smiled as you placed a hand against his cheek, “There is nothing about you that could make me love you less.”
The way he looked at you when you said that — perfect and loving as ever — tugged at your heart strings. He didn’t say a word. He simply wrapped his arms around you and leaned down to kiss you. Your heart racing as he did so let him know that the truth hadn’t changed anything between you.
You pulled away and rested your forehead against his, “Dieu, je t'aime tellement.” (God, I love you so much)
“Tu es mon coeur, mon amour, ma vie,” he whispered against your lips, “Je t’aime.”

Never, Ever (Part Two)
Pairing: Stefan Salvatore x Klaus Mikaelson x Reader
Desc.: After your interrupted wedding, you try to get to know Klaus again and re-examine your relationship with Stefan.

“I told him! I told him not to ruin the wedding!” Caroline was yelling to Bonnie, who had her hands on her temples and her eyes closed.
You, Caroline, Bonnie, and Elena were having an emergency sleepover the night after the wedding. You were supposed to be in Italy with Stefan, but your honeymoon was, obviously, put on hold.
“I just don’t understand how this happened,” Bonnie muttered. “Run me through it again.”
“We knew Nik in the twenties,” you said, your arms curled around your knees. Your eyes were still sore from crying. “I fell for him. Stefan and I knew each other then, but... but we didn’t have feelings for each other. I had eyes for Nik only— wait, should I call him Nik or Klaus? Niklaus?”
“That is so not what you need to be worried about,” Elena said. “What are you gonna do?”
You shrugged. “I don’t know. I’m so confused, I mean... I love them both.”
Elena took a sip of champagne she’d salvaged from the reception. “Been there.”
You pressed your hands to your eyes and sighed. “I mean, I’m not even sure which I loved first. I fell for Nik in the twenties— he compelled it away. I fell for Stefan— Nik compelled it all back. I just...”
Caroline wrapped an arm around you. “It’s okay. Just breathe.”
Then, the door flew open.
“Guess who has a solution?” Damon asked, striding inside.
You looked up. “Damon, honey, I’m not in the mood-“
“I’m serious!” he replied. “I have a great idea. The bachelorette.”
“Huh?” you asked, tilting your head.
“The bachelorette!” Damon repeated, excitement in his eyes. “You’ll go on dates with evil, evil Klaus and my sweet baby brother and then you’ll make a decision!”
Caroline considered it. “That... isn’t the worst plan you’ve come up with.”
“Thank you.”
“It’s worth a try,” Elena offered to you. “But only if that’s what you want.”
You looked over at Bonnie, who shrugged. You sighed deeply, and looked back to Damon. “So, how would this work?”
Damon’s plan was simple, and it lasted a week. You and Stefan would have a date on Monday, and then you and Klaus would have one Tuesday. Until Sunday, when you made your decision, neither man was allowed to contact you.
The plan made you nervous. The dates made you nervous. The deadline made you nervous. But worst of all, Stefan and Klaus made you nervous. How would you face Stefan after walking away from your wedding? And how would you face Klaus after a century of abandonment?
“And why don’t I get to go first?” Klaus asked, lounging in Damon’s chair in the living room of the Boarding House after Damon finished telling him the idea.
Stefan rolled his eyes. “That’s your concern?”
“Calm down,” Klaus said, glaring at Stefan. “You don’t want to mess with me.”
“Actually, I think I do,” Stefan said, glaring right back. “In case you forgot, you ruined my wedding and tried to steal my fiancée.”
Klaus pursed his lips smugly. “Is she really your fiancée any more, mate?”
Stefan stood up, Klaus standing up after him. You ran between them, looking Stefan in the eyes.
“Stefan, baby, please,” you whispered, tears in your eyes. “Don’t let him get to you, okay? And as for you,” you whipped around to look at Klaus. “Stop teasing my fiancé.”
Klaus attempted to look smug, but his eyes betrayed him. Even if nobody else did, you could see the hurt in them. “Alright, love.”
You sighed. You didn’t want to admit that it felt so good for him to look at you like that, for him to call you love. “Good. That’s another rule I’m establishing. No fighting.”
“Added to the list,” Damon said dutifully, grinning like the cat who ate the canary. He was enjoying this all too well.
Stefan smiled down at you, and you felt your heart flutter like it always did when he smiled. It was comforting. Even if a lot of things had changed, the way you felt about Stefan didn’t.
That also made everything infinitely harder.
-
That Monday was your date with Stefan. You were getting ready in one of his favorite outfits on you, a cute denim skirt and a pretty white blouse he adored. You let your hair flow in loose curls and did your makeup just a little fancier than usual.
You went down the stairs to your date.
Stefan was making dinner in the kitchen. It was one of your favorite things to see him do. He was a great cook, and you thought it was so romantic when he did it for you.
He’d set the table with candles and a buffet— steak, lasagna, pasta, and anything else you could have wanted.
Stefan turned to see you, and then looked embarrassed. “I wasn’t sure what you were in the mood for.”
You smiled and walked into his arms, embracing him. “Stefan, this is so sweet...”
He laughed softly. “I just wanted it to be perfect. It’s honestly been a while since we’ve been on a date.”
You kissed him. “And hopefully there will be plenty more to come.”
The two of you sat down to eat, and then he sighed.
“I hate that I’m nervous,” he muttered, mostly to himself.
“I hate it, too,” you said, holding his hand over the table. “But don’t worry. We’re gonna put all this behind us by this weekend.”
Stefan seemed relieved, but you weren’t. In all honesty, every second you grew more unsure.
The date with Stefan was nice. It was perfect. It reminded you of everything you loved about Stefan— romantic, considerate, kind...
Everything you loved about him was, coincidentally, everything that made this so hard.
-
By Tuesday, you were sick. You couldn’t eat or sleep, only agonize about what was to come.
Klaus was back. Back for you. But then again, he had abandoned you a very, very long time ago.
Klaus texted you, informing you to put on your best dress.
“Well, obviously, this is your best one,” Elena said, pulling a sleek black floor-length gown out of your closet. “I’m jealous, by the way.”
You tried to laugh, but it felt foreign in your throat. “Don’t envy me right now.”
Elena smiled softly, placing a hand on your shoulder. “(Y/N), it’ll be fine. By the end of tonight, you’ll probably know.”
“I’m scared to know,” you blurted out, panic on the edge of your voice. “What if it isn’t Stefan?”
Elena sighed. “I asked myself the exact same question once. And you know what?”
“What?”
“It’s something only you can decide,” Elena said, nodding. “And you have to admit your feelings to yourself, or your decision won’t be true.”
You nodded. “You’re good at this.”
“I’ve been through the ringer,” she said, laughing. “I have advice on pretty much everything by now.”
You got into the dress, and you had to admit it looked great. You’d probably picked it up during the twenties, you thought sourly.
After Klaus had left you, you supposed.
Elena did your hair and makeup for quite some time. Almost abruptly, she stopped.
“Stunning,” she said with a smile. Then, she handed you a mirror. “Look!”
You took the mirror in your hands and looked into it.
Oh.
You couldn’t deny it, you looked amazing. Your eyeliner was perfectly winged, and your lips were painted lush red.
Elena, about to leave you, gave you one last reassuring smile. “Whatever your choice is, you’ll be happy in the end. Remember that.”
She shut the door behind you, and you put on your heels. You figured you’d be almost as tall as Klaus in them.
You exited your room and descended down the stairs, but paused on the staircase as you heard voices.
“Don’t do anything to hurt her.” The voice was Stefan’s, and it was low and tight, scolding. “I’ll kill you myself.”
“Worried, mate?” The second voice was Klaus.
“No, because I know she’ll choose me. When it’s all said and done, I was the one who was there for her, not you.”
Klaus nearly growled. “You can’t begin to understand the relationship between she and I, so bite your tongue, Salvatore.”
“I understand enough to know that you abandoned her for a hundred years.”
“If I never would’ve left, we’d have been happy.”
“But you did leave,” Stefan replied dryly. “I didn’t.”
Tears pricked your eyes. You were putting both of them through so much pain. You couldn’t stand it. Not only that, the pain of the past was all coming back. Klaus left you. Who says he wouldn’t do it again?
You took a deep breath and went down the rest of the stairs, faking a smile. “Hello.”
Klaus turned to you, stunned at the sound of your voice. Then, a small smile grew on his face. “(Y/N). Are you ready to go?”
You nodded, not trusting your voice to betray your feelings. You felt guilty as you noticed how nice Klaus looked in his suit and tie. It reminded you of all those years ago.
You took Klaus’s arm and went out the door, leaving Stefan standing alone in the Boarding House.
He listened as the car engine fired up and drove away.
“The way he looked at her...” Stefan muttered to himself, his heart lurching like a restart.
“What about it?” Damon asked him, downing bourbon. Stefan could tell that he was worried too, even if he tried not to look it.
“With all the adoration in the world,” Stefan said quietly, starting up the stairs.
That was when he knew, even if you chose him, he didn’t have a chance. He never would, because no matter what happened tonight, Klaus would never leave you again.
Never, ever.
-
Klaus held your hand in the car. You didn’t want to, but you didn’t stop it either.
“Stop the car,” you whispered suddenly.
Immediately, Klaus stopped the car and pulled over to the side of the road. He turned in his seat to look at you. “What’s wrong, love?”
The question that had been on your tongue for days finally came out. “Why did you leave me?”
“What?”
“All those years ago, Klaus,” you said, meeting his eyes. “Why’d you leave me all alone?”
Klaus sighed, pulling his hand back into his lap. He looked down, ashamed. “I wanted to protect you from Mikael.”
“Back then, I’d have spent a lifetime running from Mikael if it meant being with you. But you left me, and now you interrupt my wedding-“
“I’m not sorry,” Klaus said tightly, looking back up to meet your eyes with fierce determination.
You furrowed your eyebrows. “How could you not be sorry? You abandoned me.”
“Because that’s what was best for you,” he growled. “It was what kept you safe and alive. I never would’ve forgiven myself if...”
“If what?”
“If something happened to you,” Klaus muttered.
Tears spilled from your eyes. “I’d have died that night if it meant dying beside you!”
“Don’t you say that,” Klaus said, his own eyes shining with tears. “Don’t you ever say that.”
“I’ll say what I want!” you replied, crossing your arms. “I have a right to be honest with how I feel. I gained that right when you left me.”
“I took the pain of it away, what else could I have done?” he pleaded.
“You stole my memories!” you said, grabbing his suit jacket. “You stole a century of me being with you! And the worst part is, it didn’t help at all! A part of me, the part of me that was compelled away, the part of me that loved you, has spent a hundred agonizing years missing you! And you compelled all that pain back!”
Klaus froze. “What?”
Tears were pouring from your eyes now. “I’m feeling it all. Even if I couldn’t remember, there was always a part of me that loved you and missed you... and when you compelled that part back...”
His eyes widened. “(Y/N), love, I didn’t mean to... oh, God, I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.”
You cried, throwing yourself into his arms. “It hurts, Nik. It hurts so much.”
“I’m so sorry, if I’d have known...” Klaus was whispering into your ear. “I’m sorry...”
You cried for a while before finally regaining composure.
“You should have let me choose my fate,” you said, pulling away from him. “But I know why you did it.”
He cradled your face in his hands, and you felt the safest you’d ever felt. “Every day since I left you has been agony. I never stopped loving you for a second.”
He glanced at the clock, and grinned. “Well, we’ve missed dinner. But I suppose it’s for the best.”
“Not much of a date, huh?” You sniffled, wiping away some of the makeup running down your face. “God, I must look-“
“Beautiful as ever,” Klaus interrupted. “And don’t worry, I think I’ve got a solution.”
He pressed play on his car radio, and soft music started to play. With a fluttering heart, you recognized it— the last song the two of you danced to.
“How about a dance?” Klaus asked, speeding to your door and opening it. He offered a hand.
You laughed, taking it.
As the song played, you danced slowly and caught up on everything for the past hundred years.
“I love you,” he whispered, closing his eyes. “I’ve been dying to say it, every day for the last century. I’ll tell you I love you every day. I didn’t tell you enough back then.”
“I love you, too,” you whispered, the words tumbling from your lips before you could think. But it was the truth.
You looked up at him, into those blue eyes you were feeling a century-long yearning for. And, hesitantly, you kissed him, long and slow. It was like they had never stopped being made for each other.
No matter how much you loved Stefan, it could not compare to how you felt for Klaus.
“I’ve made my choice,” you whispered against his lips.
“Are you sure?” he whispered back.
“Yes,” you replied, staring up into his eyes.
And there was no going back.
Never, ever.

Worth It- Pt. 2
Read Part 1
Summary: The reader has a brief encounter with Sean.
Characters: Marcel x black!reader, OMC x black!reader, Klaus x black!reader????
A/N: This part was really fun to write. I hope y’all enjoy it as much as I did to write it. Also, your girl is feeling a bit confident writing for Klaus so more fics with him might be coming soon. Happy holidays!
Tumblr media
“Listen just tell momma and daddy that they either need the get with the program or get left. Because a man as fine as Marcel Gerard is mmph!” Your sister, Bianca emphasized with a chef’s kiss. She was probably the only one in your family, who approved of your relationship with Marcel. Bianca always said love is love and anyone who tries to stop it is just bitter.
“But I do say, you should get a little taste of Sean. Marcel is a refined gentleman, but Sean is hoodnificent! Let him crack that back at least once.”
You stopped gathering the herbs around your shop, to pinch Bianca’s arm for suggesting something so outrageous. “Girl, are you crazy? Marcel will have the boy’s head on a stick, and I don’t even know what he looks like.”
“FIONNNE!” Bianca commented.
Both of you were too busy arguing with each other to hear the door chimes, but the voice that spoke got your attention. “Indeed, Marcellus would have the boy’s head on a stick. I taught him well.”
“Klaus, what are you doing here?”
He lingered around the shop, touching little trinkets, trying his best to intimidate you. “Imagine my surprise when I walk downstairs to see Diego and Thierry knocked out and you missing.” Now he was dangerously close, whispering into your ear, wrapping one your curls around his finger. “I do believe Marcel instructed you that you couldn’t leave the house without supervision.”
“Girl, add him to the list too. I bet he does all types of nasty things in the bed.” Bianca whispered into your other ear.
Klaus maneuvered his head around you to look at Bianca. He was giving her that famous smirk of his. “Would you like to find out?”
You moved in front of your sister to block her view of Klaus, because she would definitely take him up on his offer. “Nuh uh. None of that, you hear me?” You pointed at the two. “Anyway, the reason I ditched the bodyguards is that I have a business to run. A business that is frequented by witches. Witches hate vampires. So, don’t you think two vampire bodyguards, especially two that are Marcel’s best friends are bad for business?”
“Ok, then I’ll stay. I don’t need to suffer through Marcel’s groaning about how you were left unsupervised.”
“Oh no, you’re not! The witches hate you even more!” Your protest went unanswered as Bianca asked about his baby and he proceeded to show her pictures. Both ignored you, so you just went about your business as usual.
Customers would walk in and do a double take once they saw Klaus. Some would try to leave, but Klaus told them to ignore him and some would get over it and listen to him, but with others Klaus had to calmly threaten to remove their head from their shoulders for them to continue to shop. You didn’t know if you should be mad or grateful, but at the end of the day you were still making money.
It was getting close to closing time when a last-minute customer walked in. You were busy stocking the shelves, so you didn’t have a chance to see who it was. “Welcome, we’re about to close in ten minutes, but I can help you with whatever you need.”
You felt a tap on your thigh, and you looked down to see probably one of the most beautiful chocolate men you’ve ever seen. “I need you to get down, cher before you hurt yourself,” said the stranger. Before you could reprimand him for touching you, he put his hands on your hips and pulled you from the shelf.
“Who the hell do you think you are putting your hands on me?” Klaus watched the scene closely but didn’t intervene. He knew you could hold your own and would only get involved if necessary.
“I’m your fiancé,” he smiled, revealing a bottom row of a gold grill. Bianca was right Sean is hoodnificent. His attire was all black accented by gold jewelry. He had on a turtleneck and a gold chain and the Lord knows you’re a sucker for that combo.
Tumblr media
(Sean’s face claim)
You just noticed he had two other witches with him when Marcel, Thierry, and Diego burst through the doors. Sean lifted your hand to his lips, “Until we meet again, chérie.” With a blink of an eye him and the other witches disappear.
“Search the whole damn Quarter! I want him found!” Marcel ordered Diego and Thierry. When his eyes met yours, you knew you were in deep shit. He was at the level of pissed off that he didn’t even acknowledge Bianca or Klaus. He just grabbed your hand, shoved you into the car, and drove to the Mikaelson’s.
“Are you going to talk to me or continue to give me the silent treatment?” You were back at the manor, sitting at the dining table watching Marcel pace back and forth. He hadn’t said a word to you since you were in the car.
Nodding to yourself, you got up to leave. “Ok, the silent treatment. Let me take my black ass home then.”
Marcel moved in front of you and back you into your seat. “You’re not going anywhere.”
“Oh, ladies and gentlemen he talks!”
“Stop fucking trying me, Y/N.” Marcel warned you.
“Stop treating me like a fucking child then, Marcel!” Granted, you didn’t listen to his instructions, but you really tried. You lasted 3 days before you started getting antsy and tired of constantly being followed. Today was the sixth day when you made your escape and you felt that you could finally breath. “I can’t do it Marcel. I’m not meant to be locked up like some criminal.”
“You think that’s what I’m doing? All I’m trying do is save our relationship!”
“Like you do with New Orleans? Trying to stifle me and make me follow your rules? You know why my parents hate the idea of me dating you? Its because you ran the wolves out the quarter and forbade any witch from doing magic! You can’t control people like that. Its not right!”
“And your parents making you marry someone against your will is not the same?” He asked, getting closer to you.
Sneering your face, you replied, “Well, if you weren’t such a power-hungry asshole, they wouldn’t be making me.”
Marcel rolled his tongue around his mouth. “That’s how you really feel, huh? After knowing why, I forbade the witches from using magic?”
You cupped his cheeks, showing the first sign of affection since the incident at your shop. “I get why. You did it to save Davina but know she’s safe and you’re still trying to control everyone. New Orleans does not solely belong to just the vampires, or just the wolves, or just the witches. It belongs to everyone. But everyone is too damn selfish to see that. But hey, do what you gotta do. I’m gonna go to bed if that’s alright with you.”
Before you walked off, Marcel gave you a soft peck to your lips and murmured good night against your lips. No matter how pissed off he was at you, he couldn’t go without telling or showing you that he loved you.
“Now that’s the Queen of the Quarter,” Marcel heard Vincent say. Him and Klaus were standing next to each other, smirking at Marcel.
“How long have you two been listening?”
“Long enough to know that you better smarten up or you’ll lose the lovely Y/N to that witch or to someone more dashing.” Klaus informed him.
He ran up to Klaus and punched him in his jaw. “I’m not in the mood, Klaus.” Klaus got up and chuckle at him, not even mad that Marcel punched him.
“I can’t help it if your girlfriend is so charming.” Klaus teased some more.
Vincent shook his head and got in between the two vamps, before a real fight broke out. “Can you not antagonize him, man? Dude’s already on edge.”
Klaus sidestepped Vincent to get to Marcel. “Nope. Not until he tells us the real reason, he’s so mad.” Klaus circled Marcel, trying to gauge his reaction.
“He’s pissed because Y/N left, plain and simple.”
Raising a finger and ticking his head no, Klaus replied, “No, that’s not it. We all expected Y/N to break out. A woman like that, you can’t keep caged in.” Klaus stopped circling Marcel and stood in front of him, staring him down with a condescending smirk. “I wager the King of the Quarter was upset of the sight he saw tonight. It was but for a fleeting moment, but there, nonetheless. Y/N was intrigued by her witchy suitor. Before he thought of the witch as an annoyance, but tonight proved he might be more competition than he hoped for. Am I right?”
His nostrils flared as Marcel listened to Klaus correctly pinpoint his anger. When Marcel saw Sean’s hands on you and you not being immediately turned off made him worry. Sean was obviously closer to you in age and you both had similar upbringings. But the thing that worried Marcel the most was the one thing Sean could give you that he couldn’t, a baby.
“If I’m not back by the time Y/N wakes up, tell her I’m out doing business.” Marcel informed Klaus. He had to find and kill Sean before he could steal you away from him.

💘💘💘
Several months later, Elijah met up with his friend for lunch. It was Thursday.
"So you moved back to your apartment in the city. What are you going to do about the house?"- Marcel asked.
"We agreed to put it on the market."- Elijah replied.
"Seriously- one moment you are redecorating a house and then you break up. It's over that blog-girl right?!"
"Blog girl?!"- Elijah repeated chuckling a bit.
"Y/N. I've seen you reading it when you were in the meetings. Klaus told me that you were meeting someone. It's not like you to have an affair- or?"
Flashback
Elijah walked into the house one thursday evening when he returned from the city. Hayley was writing something on her tablet.
"Ah, you are back. Want a glass of wine?"- the woman said standing up from the armchair.
"No, thank you."- Elijah said seriously.
"What is it? Something happened? "
"What are we doing here, Hayley?Playing house"- Elijah then said.
"What?"- she said confused as to where he was going with his conversation.
"Yeah, well- I can't go on pretending that this relationship is real. Not anymore."- Elijah said.
"No - not it's not. You are right."- Hayley said.
"No."- Elijah said.
And they both knew that his heart was somewhere else.
"I know- Hayley said- "because-  you have been different for a while- there is someone else, isn't there?"
Elijah sighed a little and gulping, he admitted-"Yes. I - I met somebody- but it's nothing like you think it is. "- Elijah said.
"No-" - Hayley sighed as well-"it's- much worse"
"Worse?"- he didn't quite understand what she meant by it.
The brunette looked at him calmly.
"It's love, right?!"- Hayley uttered.
Elijah swallowed hard and then nodded.
"Cuz I know - I - also met this guy"
Now at the restaurant
"It wasn't an affair."- Elijah said to Marcel- "we- we would just meet before the train- and talked- that's all."
"Don't tell me you haven't even kissed her?!"- Marcel joked a bit now.
"No. I didn't even kiss her."- Elijah said with regret in his voice.
"So, it's the old-fashioned kind of a thing? You fell in love with a woman - and for some crazy loyalty to a relationship that was more like a habit than anything resembeling love- you let it go. You and Hayley were so incompatible, that we all wondered what you were doing with her all these years. And then she went off with Jackson"
"Yes,  I got the wedding invitation the other day. They are getting married. Hayley is pregnant."- Elijah said.
"Right. Well, that proves it. But - now - what are you going to do about your blog-girl then?"- Marcel asked.
"She is in New Orleans at the moment. We e-mail eachother."- Elijah said.
"You e-mail?! Elijah, WTF- You should take the first plane to NOLA! I don't get you at times., seriously"- Marcel said.
"I go over there- and what? Anyway - didn't you see the blog. She has met someone as she was travelling"
"I serioulsy can't believe you?! You will let this girl go because she met someone. You design amazing buildings, houses-  but when it comes to women- you are hopeless."
"Can we just leave it."- Elijah now looked at his watch and then got up-
"See you later. I got to meet a client"
They left the conversation about Y/N at that, as Marcel had to leave.
Elijah finished his lunch, going back to Y/N's blog, and read the latest she had written.
*****
A few days later
In New Orleans, Y/N had met up with her best friend Caroline, who jetted over to the city for a short holiday.
"What do you want to do first?"- Y/N asked her friend.
"Let's have brunch. I want to hear about the latest-  all about Mason. and where do you plan to go next?"
"First- about Mason- it was just a thing and that's it. There is nothing there."
"Wait- don't tell me you are still hanging on- Elijah?!"- Caroline looked at her friend's sad face.
"Yes. I think about him everyday- last thought before I fall asleep and  first thought when I awake-  I love him-  and you know what is crazy- we discuss my blog over e-mails-  and -  I don't know why I am letting this go on."
"Because you fell in love with him and that's that-  why don't you just tell him how you feel-  write to him."
"Caroline, you are just so-  I can’t"- Y/N said
"I know. The romantic you! Too old-fashioned. It is the 21st century, you know. Y/N, you have to act. Someone will snatch him before you know it and - you miss on a great thing."
“Act - what did you say? Why would someone snatch him? Isn’t he- ?”
“No. I overheard Camille talking about Elijah -”
Y/N now cut Caroline in the middle of the sentence-
“Camille knows Elijah?”
“No. She knows his ex-fiancé. Well, she was there in the bar with her husband to be- and it was not Elijah”- Caroline now said.
“You lost me now”- Y/N shook her head, looking at her friend wide-eyed.
___
A few months later
Y/N/ wrote in her blog-
"Maybe I will believe that there is this fairy or angel that walks among us and waves with the magic wand. Maybe it is the universe- or maybe it is  Cupid - or maybe it is just one of those things that are meant to be. Two people were supposed to meet  and have their always and forever. The story started some time ago-  and it is still going. And everything feels so different and new."
Y/N stopped there for a second flashing back as she looked at a photo
Flashback
A few days after Elijah met  Marcel for lunch
Y/N walked into the Cafe at the New Orleans Airport. She stood still as she saw a very familiar face sitting at a table.
She walked to the man.
"Elijah"- she said.
"Y/N"- the man said standing up.
"How- are you here?! Why-  "- she uttered faintly.
"I - well- this is - ok- now that - "- Elijah got all flushed for some reason, but then waited no longer to say this-
"There is something I didn't tell you-  a year ago-  and then you left-"- he now sighed a little, stepping forward.
"Tell me- what?"- Y/N said with thousand butterflies raising up in her stomach.
"I love you"- Elijah said dearly.
Y/N looked at the man in completely astonished, though it was utterly silly to react like that.
"I love you! I do!"- he repeated.
Y/N now smiled, tearing up now.
“Oh- I love you, too.”
Both now floating away in each other’s arms, into the most zealous, loving kiss.
The people around them watching the scene would say that it was like something out of the movies.
💌Y/N now continued writing-
"But as you, who are reading this, now know that there is this one more person on the photographs and you always read his generous contribution about things. So I hope you will enjoy it- Ah, I didn't introduce him. It's my husband- Elijah Mikaelson."

Hi!
If you feeling like it, could you do a one shot in which Klaus and Reader have been together for a long time and love each other but when they move to Mystic falls Reader can see and feel Klaus distancing himself and crushing over Caroline?
Like he would start spending more time trying to get her attention and watching her, while putting his missions and schemes over Reader. She sees that his sketches are less about her and more about Caroline and she feels alone, heartbroken and ignored. Then she hears Klaus tell Caroline the same confession that he told her when they got together ("He is your first love, but I intend to be your last") and she runs away to collect her things from their shared room.
But what she doesn't know is that it was all a plan to make Caroline fall in love with him and tell him the plan of the Salvatore. At the end Klaus finds put about her missing and search for her but she is scared that now that he doesn't love her anymore he will hurt her to keep her mouth shut about the secrets that she knew so she goes on the run.
The ending is up to you ofc. Thank you!!
I'm not the only one
Pairing: Klaus Mikaelson x reader Summary: You and Klaus have been together for ages. You swore to each other Always and Forever. You could always rely on him, and the original hybrid trusted you with his plans. But how long can you turn a blind eye to his sudden interest in a certain Caroline Forbes? And after hearing him say the same words to her that practically started your relationship, you realize that maybe after all, you're not the only one for him. Warning(s): angst - because I'm having a terrible week and I needed to get rid of these negative feelings, Klaus cheating (kiss), broken reader, little comfort at the end because I don't like sad endings. Nonsense from me: I hope you like it! World count: 6,2k
Tumblr media
You and me, we made a vow For better or for worse
You and Klaus have been together for a very long time. You stood by him as you built the might of New Orleans together—a safe home, a haven—until Mikael showed up and sent everything to hell. Despite this defeat, you were still with your beloved, escaping with him from his cruel father and trying to defeat Mikael once and for all. His siblings were like family to you (even though you never formalized your relationship). You've been Klaus' fiancée—kind of part of the family—but he could still get rid of you if he wanted at any time.
But you tried not to worry too much about it, knowing full well that Klaus didn't want to expose you to the wrath of his enemies and the special attention of his father if he married you. After all, you were still an ordinary vampire. A simple heart rip, a werewolf bite, or a wooden stake through your heart could kill you very easily and quickly.
You didn't need to make it official. His love and devotion were enough for you.
But since your arrival in Mystic Falls and (finally) breaking his curse, your relationship has started to sour.
Things between you two changed when certain Caroline Forbes showed up on the picture...
I can't believe you let me down But the proof is in the way it hurts For months on end I've had my doubts
One day Klaus' full devotion and love for you shone bright and uninterrupted from him, and the next day he completely ignored you, spending the entire fucking prom with that blonde bitch. The merciful, compassionate look from Esther and the Mystic Falls gang was the worst feeling you've felt in 300 years.
But you tried to justify his behavior when it turned out that his mother really wanted to kill them all. You thought he had distanced himself from you and turned his attention to this young vampire to protect you from Esther.
However, a few months later, when he completely lost interest in you, he stopped texting you during the day, and you fell asleep before he came home and got up when the bed was cold on his side (sometimes you even doubted he was coming home at all), and worst of all, his sketches were all about sweet Caroline—you began to have serious suspicions that he was doing all of this for "your own good".
Sarcasm completely intentional.
Of course, Elijah tried to explain away his brother's attitude, but you knew better. If Nik really cared about you, he'd be communicating with you about more than just the magic cure for vampirism that he had to get for Elena.
Even that fucking doppelgänger and her bodyguards talked to him more than you, his (probably now in name only) fiancée.
Denying every tear I wish this would be over now But I know that I still need you here
You sighed, folded your napkin, wiped your tears, and got up from the table. You blew out the red candles that had practically burned out and left the dining room, leaving the 300-year "engagement" dinner with Klaus on the table.
You went to the kitchen and took out of the fridge a bottle of wine specially chilled and stored for this occasion, from the exact year you met. You slowly walked up the stairs. The sound of your high heels hitting the marble steps echoed through the empty mansion, mocking your loneliness.
As you walked down the hall towards your room, you noticed that the light was on in one of the bedrooms. Without thinking, you entered the room of your favorite original and leaned against the door frame, watching with amusement his attempts to use the phone.
"Fuck. Stupid mortal device." at one point, the man turned on the flashlight, blinding himself. "WHAT THE BLOODY HELL?!" I burst out laughing as Kol fell off his bed. He looked around the room in surprise, blushing with embarrassment when he saw that I had witnessed this compromising event.
"Kol Mikaelson. The terror of the living and the dead, the deadliest and most dangerous of the original vampires, was defeated by the flashlight on his phone. Rebekah won't believe me when I tell her."
"Very funny. Shouldn't you be fucking my brother today on your anniversary instead of standing here and torturing me?" he muttered, getting up off the floor and brushing off the invisible dust.
"Apparently he has other priorities. Should I be worried you wanted to eavesdrop on us?"
"Don't flatter my brother. We both know I can hear better sounds from you if you'll let me. Besides, I'm not a weirdo. I was about to curl up the moment I heard the first sound of danger."
"Every day, I consider your offer more and more. And I seriously doubt Klaus will hold a grudge against you after that."
"Wait a minute. 200 years ago, you said you'd rather be celibate than sleep with me, and Nik threatened to castrate me with a rusty shovel. Is it that bad between you two?"
"Come on. It's great! That's why, on one of our most important anniversaries, I'm standing in his brother's room." you groaned, trying to hold back the tears welling up in your eyes.
You were so weak and naive, still only wanting the company of a man who hadn't said a single word to you in months that wasn't related to his plans.
"Okay, I understand... wait. What's this? Can I see tears? All right, that's enough of this. Get your ass up and let's go drink and dance. Now that you've dressed up, we'll make good use of your short, sexy dress. I heard those pups from the Mystic Falls gang are having a party at the Salvatore's house. Let's make a mess, darling!" he tried to comfort me by pulling me into a tight hug and evoking any sort of giggle.
"That's why you're my favorite. But don't even think you'll get a sip of this wine." I said with a half smile, trying to somehow appreciate his attempt to cheer me up.
"Don't blame me. I had to try, darling. Now go fix that mesmerizing makeup, and I'll see you downstairs."
You say I'm crazy Cause you don't think I know what you've done But when you call me baby I know I'm not the only one
Salvatores may have been a pain in the ass, but they knew how to throw a party. It was child's play for Kol and you to get inside and empty their liquor cellar. You laughed and joked until another couple showed up at our hideout.
You sat hidden among the barrels so that you had a view of the stairs leading up. At their feet stood probably your least favorite couple...
"Why did you just let Tyler come to the party? You're not going to tell me there's a heart in that empty space near your lungs?"
"Calm down, love. It's your birthday. You shouldn't be nervous."
"I get nervous every time I see you. Now. Tell me, what am I supposed to do to repay you for bringing my boyfriend here and letting him stay at my party? Because I don't believe you did all this out of the kindness of your heart and you don't want anything in return." she said suspiciously, crossing her arms over her chest.
"I want nothing, love. Consider it a birthday present." he replied nonchalantly, shoving his hands into the pockets of his suit pants. He didn't even wear those smart suits on your birthday; he hated them. You don't know if it was because he felt like a second Elijah in them or because he was used to his henley. Apparently, SHE was worth sacrificing a bit of his comfort.
"You already gave one to me. Actually, a lot. What's all this Klaus for? Why do you try so hard for me and make sure I have a wonderful day, only to bring my boyfriend back at the end of it?"
"He's your first love. I intend to be your last. However long it takes. Until then, let me spoil yourself. Seduce in all the ways you ever dream of." you felt as if the whole world stopped for a moment around you as you heard the same enchanting words coming out of his mouth to her that he had used to convince you to run away with him 300 years ago.
"Seriously? This goes against all the rules of flirting, without even mentioning that you already have a girlfriend."
"Y/N? She's only my minion. A person from dirty work. She imagines something more about us, and that's it. I never loved her. Not the way I care about you, Caroline." sure, go ahead. Go all out. Kiss and fuck against this wall. Anyway, your heart is already dead.
"Klaus I..." the blonde shook her head, staring in shock at the hybrid with a small disbelieving smile. Klaus walked over to her, taking her hands in his. Their mouths were centimeters away from joining in a kiss right in front of your eyes.
"Care! Where are you?! It's time for cake!" the screams of her friends saved you from watching the love of your life kiss someone else, adore someone else, and give his heart, his lips, his eyes, and his touch to someone else.
You could only watch silently as Klaus offered her his arm and helped her up the stairs. Always a gentleman… at least when he wanted something or expected something in return.
There was dead silence in the room. You could feel Kol's sympathetic gaze burning a hole in the left side of your head.
"Y/N, he didn't mean..."
"It's okay, Kol. I've got ears, a brain, and pretty good eyes. I know what I saw and heard. I think that's enough fun for today. Thanks for trying to make me feel better." you cut him off, seeing panic instead of surprise in his eyes. So his siblings knew everything... that's probably why Rebekah left without saying a word.
"No! Y/N, wait! You don't..." before he could say anything else, I ran out of there at vampire speed.
"Shit. Klaus is going to kill me." a man said to himself after she disappeared.
You've been so unavailable Now sadly I know why Your heart is unobtainable Even though Lord knows you kept mine
Honestly, you should have known it would end like this. From the beginning of your relationship, a swarm of girls followed him wherever he went. But then he only saw you.
"I don't like it here." I snorted, eyeing the werewolf bitch who had been fawning over Nik since the party started.
"Here or her, love? It may seem that one letter means nothing, but as you hear, it changes the whole meaning of your statement." the original snorted, throwing his arm around my shoulders and pulling me into his possessive grip.
"None of them. Did we really have to throw this ball?" I complained, catching the lady werewolf leader's eye and kissing Mikaelson greedily to "mark my territory in front of that bitch." I pulled away from him as a smug smirk began to form on his lips, interfering with my ministry. "Why are you smiling like that? What's so funny?"
"For the first time, I see jealousy on your beautiful face. I have to admit it's a nice change."
"Please, as if half the women in the world aren't already trying to take you away from me. One puny wolf cub poses no threat to me, much less arouses my jealousy."
"Of course. So kiss me again. Just in case she somehow didn't get the message."
I snorted, pulling him to me by his necklace, and biting his lips to the blood. I licked my mouth as I climbed onto his lap and straddled him. I ran my hand through his hair and started leaving small kisses along the column of his throat.
"We're in public, love." he purred, wrapping one hand around my neck and pressing down gently. I growled, biting into his skin and taking a few gulps of his blood.
"And when exactly did it ever bother you?" I whispered, continuing to mark his skin. I smiled mischievously as I saw shivers run through his body.
The moment I felt his own fangs glide against my neck, I moved away from him at arm's length. I smiled victoriously at his annoyed look.
"What happened with being in public thing, love?"
"Who could resist such tempting beauty and strength? Definitely not me." he growled with a smirk, grabbing me bride-style and moving us with vampire speed to his room, specifically his bed.
"Elijah will be furious with us if we disappear again. Your werewolf friend is unlikely to be pleased with the lack of your wonderful presence either." I moaned as he started tearing off my dress.
"It's a good thing I don't care about any of them now. I'm yours. Only yours, my queen. And you're mine. And I will be proving it to you for always and forever."
You should know that one day you will fall from his pedestal.
You say I'm crazy Cause you don't think I know what you've done But when you call me baby I know I'm not the only one
I felt sad, to say the least. And a bit lonely.
For a month, Nik had become... colder, more distant. It started with us no longer having dinner together. Stupid observation, I know, but I couldn't help but miss his presence. He disappeared somewhere, fighting with the Salvatore brothers for Elena's blood. I understood his need to create a hyrbyds—someone like himself, his own pack that wouldn't leave him—but that didn't mean he had to do it alone. I could help him. I always helped him. However, my role began to be limited to guarding his hybrids and his sister.
Then he stopped writing to me. He could go all day without speaking to me, which was starting to worry me, so like any normal person, I decided to talk to my partner about my concerns. I just forgot that there is no such thing as normal between me and Niklaus.
"Love, don't you know how many things I have on my mind? If I had to write to you every second of every day, I would never have achieved what I have. Don't be a child who demands constant attention, you know that I love only you. There is no other woman whose arms I would rather return to every night."
I felt stupid. Like an oversensitive madwoman who needs to be in contact with her beloved 24 hours a day. But over time, he even stopped coming back to our bed, and if he did, it was so late that I had already fallen asleep. Sometimes the smell of his perfume left on his pillow was the only contact I had with him during the day.
So I made him a real jealousy scene. But that only made me feel worse than before.
"Y/N. My light and life, you know how much I care about you. If it were up to me, I would never leave our room or your delightful presence. But you can't reproach me or make unreasonable scenes of jealousy when all I'm doing is keeping our family safe. I thought you could go a few hours without my wonderful presence? Besides, do you think that when I'm away from you, I don't spend a second thinking about you? You are with me, in my mind and memory, always and everywhere, but I cannot let myself be distracted and forget about my main goals to succumb to your captivating beauty. I'd be lost in you forever, forgetting what I have to do."
He could make me feel real remorse, but subconsciously I felt that something was wrong with all of this and that he wasn't telling me the whole truth.
He adopted a different tactic. He gave me some of his responsibilities, which kept me busy for half the day. Not that I missed him any less.
My suspicions only increased after I discovered a large number of sketches by another woman, the same woman he'd invited to his mother's damn ball, in his art room. However, I decided not to do anything about it and wait for the situation to develop.
I was tired of hearing that I was crazy.
I have loved you for many years Maybe I am just not enough You've made me realise my deepest fear By lying and tearing us up
Maybe you've been crazy and still madly in love with a man who's clearly been using your love and sincere, blind devotion all this time, but that doesn't mean you'll watch him slowly give himself to another just to stay with him just a little longer. You still had some dignity.
Besides, you had to leave. You saw what Klaus did to people he no longer needed. If he was capable of disposing, compelling, and torturing his minions, what will he do with you, the woman who knows all his family's darkest secrets, when he no longer needs you?
You had to run as fast and as far as possible.
If you're lucky enough, you'll cross the US border before he realizes you're gone. Maybe you'd even join Katherine? She was always sending silly postcards and postcards from pretty places to encourage you to run away from the hybrid. Now seemed like the right time to join her on the journey of a lifetime.
Despite your rational, cool approach to the situation, you couldn't stop your stupid tears from spilling out of your eyes as you packed all the necessities into your suitcase.
It took you an hour to recover from seeing a 19th-century photo of you and the Mikaelson family. You did it in New Orleans, right after you took over the city completely. Marcel stood with a big smile, embracing an equally cheerful Rebekah from behind. Elijah was holding Kol by the shirt so he wouldn't accidentally pounce on the human-photographer, and you and Klaus stood side by side, staring at each other with so much love in their eyes. Your big diamond glistened on your finger under the light of the lamps.
When did it all go to hell?
You stuffed the photo frame into your suitcase and slammed it shut with a bang.
Before you went downstairs, you stopped by his art room for a moment. With a sigh, you took one last look at all the old portraits he had painted, and after finding a piece of paper, you left a message on his latest sketchbook dedicated to HER.
It was a fun few centuries together, Klaus. But I knew I would never be the only one for you. Love and hate, Y/N P.S. You can give her that.
The ring you've worn for 300 years laughed at you, glowing in the glow of the street lamps as you left him on the note.
Without thinking twice, you ran out of the house and loaded your bags into your car. You cast one last longing glance at the house before getting into your car.
You angrily wiped away the tears that kept you from seeing the road ahead.
You knew only one quick and effective way to get rid of your unwanted, desperate emotions, but would you be able to do it? Stop feeling anything?
On the other hand, what was stopping you from doing it? You had nothing and no one in this world anyway.
You say I'm crazy Cause you don't think I know what you've done But when you call me baby I know I'm not the only one
"Is he cheating on me?" Rebekah spat out the wine she was drinking in shock and started coughing. After she had relatively recovered, she started staring at me like I was crazy.
"What?"
"Your brother. Is he cheating on me?" I repeated, sipping my own wine and staring blankly at the fireplace.
"Nik?"
"No, Elijah." I snorted, tucking my legs under me.
"Are you crazy? If one thing is certain about my brother, it's that he loves you madly. What in the bloody hell made you think otherwise?"
"Let's see… he avoids me, spends his days with God knows where and with whom, and hired me as a personal babysitter for his hyrbyds and a searcher for new werewolf packs, of course, from a distance, because even though he treats this damn house like a hotel, he makes me stay in it like a ghost in a fucking crypt! I'm sick of this, Bekah. I know he's hiding something from me. Okay, he may have secrets and plans of his own that he doesn't want to tell anyone; he has done it before. But this time, he's crossing the fucking line." in my frantic speech, I didn't notice that I was swinging my glass from side to side, spilling its contents onto the couch. I sighed, not really caring. It's not like Klaus would notice. He would have to stay here for more than an hour first.
I staggered to the bar to pour myself another glass, but Bekah's gentle grip on mine stopped me.
"Maybe we've had enough of this wine, eh?" she asked thoughtfully, taking the glass from me and placing it on the bar. Seeing tears welling up in my eyes, she pulled me close to her and started stroking my hair reassuringly.
"What have I done wrong, Bekah? Why doesn't he love me anymore?" I asked, sobbing, letting myself let out all of the stress and helplessness I'd felt for months.
"Shh… it's okay, darling. Everything will come back to normal, trust me. Just be a little more patient."
"Rebekah! Y/N! There is a way to make Elena human again. We can have our hybrids back! Of course, we will have to modify our plans a bit. We can't have a repeat of what happened last time. Caroline told me… What happened, love? Are you crying?"
Klaus suddenly came back and walked over to where the two of us were cuddling. He looked at me clearly distressed, but he didn't seem to notice that my sobs only increased after hearing HER name fall out of his lips.
"It's nothing, Nik. We got a little drunk, and now we're more sensitive, aren't we?" Rebekah thought on the spur of the moment, stepping away from me. I just nodded my head, falling into the hybrid's open arms.
Ironically, the man who had driven me to this state was the only one who could comfort me in any way.
"I got you, love. Let's take you to our bedroom."
He took me in his arms, slowly carrying me upstairs. Along the way, I couldn't help but wonder if I was the only one he called "love"?
I know I'm not the only one I know I'm not the only one I know I'm not the only one
Third-person's POV
"KOL! How could you take her there?!" the hybrid screamed, throwing another bottle of scotch he found in sight at his brother.
Klaus found a note left by Y/N. So was their empty bedroom, stripped of her belongings. The lingering scent of her perfume was the only trace that she had once lived here.
And he was furious with his brother. The dagger and white oak powder were safely tucked away in his pocket, and he was just waiting for the right moment to punish his brother. He took you right into the middle of his plan to seduce Caroline to get the information he needed. Kol sat her in the goddamn, fucking front row so she could watch him fawning over another woman while Klaus was only thinking of getting this whole Mytsic Falls fiasco over as soon as possible and holed up somewhere with his love for a well-deserved holiday.
Now he couldn't.
She disappeared.
And he had an insatiable lust for murder. His brother will be in that bloody coffin, where he belongs, by tomorrow.
"I wasn't the one of us who came up with the brilliant plan of chasing some blonde while your girlfriend was pining for you, you criminal genius!!" Kol shouted back and threw one of his brother's paintings at him.
If he was going to die today, at least he would defend himself to the last breath. In fact, he knew the worst thing his brother would do was put him in that fucking coffin. Unless he can survive long enough until Elijah returns.
"You know perfectly well that I did it to protect her! She is an ordinary vampire; any stick can kill her! Thanks to my false interest in Caroline, I killed two birds with one stone. I kept Y/N safe and could extract the information I needed. But she wasn't supposed to know anything until we left together! AND BECAUSE OF YOU, SHE'S NOT HERE!" he growled, attacking his brother. He lunged at the younger vampire, pinning him to the ground and trying to pierce his heart with his dagger. Kol, however, tried to defend himself and did his best to keep the blade away from his chest.
"NO! Nik, wait! I can help you find her; we'll take her back to you; just don't do this to me! I can't come back to this coffin, please, brother!"
"You've done enough."
"NIKLAUS!" Kol breathed a sigh of relief as Elijah pushed their brother off him and snatched the dagger from his hand. "You have to calm down."
"Don't tell me what to do, and don't you dare take sides with this traitor! He brought Y/N there on purpose to destroy our relationship! You've always flirted with her, but if you think that's how you'll finally have her, you're sorely mistaken, brother." he spat out the last word with such revulsion that Kol flinched, beginning to feel a real fear of Klaus. "I'm going to burn this damn world to get to her and disprove all the lies you told her about my action."
"I never wanted her for me, she's like a sister to me." he choked out, trying to reason with the maddened hybrid. He had never seen him like this before. He must have really cared about Y/N if he was willing to tear the world apart just to find her.
"It is because of you and your actions that Y/N escaped, and now you must face the truth and accept the consequences of your actions, Niklaus. You can't blame Kol for that. Besides, I don't think Y/N approves of you daggering us again."
"So what am I supposed to do now? She ran away from me!"
"Calm down first and hide that ridiculous stake you're hiding behind your back; none of us is your enemy. We will find her. You have my word."
The hybrid growled something under its breath in agreement and left the room, presumably to hide the originals' doomsday weapons once again. Kol stood next to Elijah, staring at their brother's retreating figure.
"How the hell did he get it?"
"I don't know, but be glad I came on time. When it comes to Y/N, he's capable of doing a lot of things." he muttered, following the footsteps of the hybrid.
"Yes, but he wouldn't kill me, would he? Elijah?! Would he?!" panicked, he ran after his older brother, deciding that until they found Y/N he would stick to his suit jacket like his life depended on it. Which was actually true.
And I know, and I know, and I know, And I know, and I know, and I know, know I know I'm not the only one
Second-person's POV
You've been hiding with Katherine in her family home in Bulgaria for a month now. You honestly doubted it was safe to live in a place so important to her, with Klaus' minions and debtors looking for you all over the world, but you didn't question her methods. After all, she had been running from him for 500 years. She was more skilled than you.
In addition to visiting her hometown, going to various human events, and sunbathing in her garden, you spent your days reflecting on your relationship with Nik. The original left you at least 20 voicemails every day. You didn't complain about the lack of contact between the two of you. Sometimes you listened to part of them, sometimes they ended up in the trash, and sometimes Katherine took your phone so you wouldn't even think about picking up the call from your ex-lover.
But they all said the same thing: "I'll find you."
The vampire tried everything in her power to make you forget about him. However, dating, flirting, and sex escapades with people as drunk as you have not yielded any results. Besides, it ended when the news reported that one of these unfortunates had died with his head detached from the rest of his body. You two still have no idea how Klaus found out (because it was clearly his job), but you didn't want innocent people on your conscience, so Katherine stopped looking for new guys for you.
However, this particular incident was not repeated. None of your one-night stands have lost a life except this one. You guessed that Klaus, in his frustration (he must have had a really bloody day or something), sent you this kind of warning. Or maybe Caroline just successfully occupied him with something else, so he stopped threatening you.
You shuddered.
You couldn't think about him being with her like you two used to be. Not yet. Not when Katherine just turned your switch back on.
So instead, you went back to tending your garden. Even before you met Klaus, you had a weakness for growing flowers, exotic shrubs, and plants. Now you have more than enough time and space to get back into your hobby. And Katherine approved of everything you did, as long as it wasn't about Klaus. You could have sworn you'd seen her water some of your plants herself. And you could confidently say that you both love this place.
Your phone buzzed again today. Klaus. This time, instead of a voicemail, he sent you a text.
"Him again? Why don't we just burn this phone, dance around the fire, sing about how much we hate him, and buy you a new phone? Maybe with some handsome, charming man or woman bundled?"
"What if he finally gets tired of chasing after me and leaves me alone? How will I know if I change my number?"
"Very funny. Do you think Caroline will make him a saint?" I froze at those words, pausing before cutting a dead twig. "Fuck. I'm sorry, I didn't want to…"
"No, everything's fine. You're right. I should be able to function normally now and stop tensing up every time I hear one of their names."
"Well, after being with this maniac for 300 years, I believe you may still be experiencing harmful side effects."
"Hold." you threw her your phone. "Do what you want with it. I'm going to change clothes, and we'll have fun in the city. If I remember correctly, there's supposed to be some kind of mask festival there, right? So it's perfect for us."
"And that's the attitude I want to see!"
You smiled as you walked away from her, laughing, towards the house. Who knows? Maybe today you'll find the only one for you.
~•♤♤♤•~
"Hurry up! I want cotton candy!" you tried to shout over the crowd of people around you and grabbed the reluctant brunette by the hand, dragging her with you.
"You're acting like a child, but you're happy, so I'll forgive you this time."
"Come on. Just admit you like it."
"Yes, my dream was to go to the ferris wheel, ride bumper cars, and eat cotton candy with a 300-year-old vampire wearing a mask that prevented me from breathing or eating a normal human meal."
"See, I told you you'd like it." the brunette rolled her eyes, pulled your arm into a half-hug, and smirked mischievously. Oh no. Yoy knew that look.
"The hot brunette on the 4th has been staring at you ever since you got in that stupid line. Go and have fun, or I'll eat all your cotton candy."
"But Kath..."
"Don't "Kath" me! Get your ass over to him or I'll push you myself!"
"Terrorist." you snorted, taking her arm off you and walking over to the man who was staring at me.
If you were human, you wouldn't have approached him. He was at least... strange. He was standing in the shadows, leaning against one of the least frequented stalls. His mask covered his entire face, unlike the others; even part of his hair was hidden from people's eyes. Besides, Katherine must have gone blind in her old age. His hair wasn't brown; it was blonde. Dark blonde...
You shuddered. It couldn't be Niklaus. You must have been paranoid. If he had found us, he would have hit you without thinking. He wouldn't be lurking in the shadows for you; he'd get rid of the problem right away. You weren't naive; you knew too much for him to let you live.
But you couldn't shake the feeling of something familiar as you looked at the stranger.
"Hi, I'm Y/N. You have a very nice disguise." you smiled and extend your hand in greeting.
The stranger took your hand and put it to the golden metal mouth carved into his mask. Without knowing why, you shivered with excitement. You felt so weird. Like you've done something like this before.
And then that single, most important memory in your whole life reminded you why you should run away from a stranger as fast as you can.
You've already met him. At a masquerade ball, at your cousin's estate, the ones fucking 300 years ago wore the same fucking mask.
It was Klaus.
You were about to yank your hand out of his grip, but he pulled you closer, turning your back to his strong chest. He took three steps back, completely drowning both of you in the dark. He dropped his mask, pressed his hand over your mouth, preventing you from uttering a scream, and rested his chin against your shoulder, breathing deeply as he buried his nose in your hair.
Katherine will never find your dead body.
Your heart beats faster with each silent second.
"Hello, love. I think I finally caught you." under other circumstances, you would quiver with excitement as he whispered those words lewdly in your ear. Now that his love was located elsewhere, you were afraid of what he might come up with for you.
You trembled in his arms, waiting for his next step.
Instead of some sudden, no doubt painful move on his part that you were expecting, the original took off his coat and put it on you, making sure all the buttons were buttoned up.
You couldn't do anything but watch him in shock. You're sure if you weren't so tense and stressed, your jaw would have dropped to the floor instead of clenching nervously in anticipation.
"Let's take you home, love. We all missed you." he grabbed your hand, trying to lead you out of the festival.
"Won't you kill me?" the hybrid froze, slowly turning to face you. He cupped your cheek gently with his hand and looked at you with pure love and adoration in his eyes that more or less masked the sadness behind them.
What the fuck?
"The only person I want to kill right now is my little brother. You, love, are all that matters to me."
He cupped your lips in a passionate, longing kiss, entwining his hands in your hair. You moaned, giving in to the pleasant feeling of being close to his body. At one point, fireworks exploded around you, causing you to shudder slightly in surprise. However, Nik continued kissing you as if his life depended on it, with a small, happy smirk.
Wait a minute…
Realization has passed through your mind.
He didn't want to kill you.
He was looking for you because he missed you.
He loved you.
So he and that blonde monkey…
You pulled away from him, slapping him across the cheek. He sighed, rubbing the slightly sore spot.
"I admit, I deserved it…"
"What the hell were you doing with Caroline?! You think you can play with her behind my back and come for me after a month like nothing ever happened?! You're in so much fucking trouble… why the hell are you smiling?!" you shouted as you saw a satisfied, blissful, even grateful smile form on his face.
He must have gone completely insane this month without you.
"You have no idea…" he paused, reaching for you to pull out a small velvet box from the pocket of his coat and open it to reveal your ring. "How much I missed you."
"Don't even think that after all this, I'm just jumping into your arms. You must have been up to some stupid plan of yours, AGAIN, that involved that bitch and instead of telling me anything, AGAIN, you decided to do everything yourself and got so involved that you forgot about everything else, AGAIN?"
"Maybe?" he glanced at you, embarrassed, fiddling nervously with the ring box in his hands.
"God. You're lucky, I love you." you growled, taking the ring from him and putting it on your finger, then pulling him to yourself and kissing him hungrily, trying to make up for those lost (BECAUSE OF HIM) weeks.
He moaned into your lips, willingly committing to return your kiss. You pulled away from him before it turned into a full, hot makeup session between the two of you.
"I have to go back to Katherine's for my stuff. I'll text you when and where we'll meet."
"I will go with you…"
"NO! I will not expose Katherine to you. I'd been waiting for you for months in a cold, empty bed. I believe that you will last a few hours without me."
"Hours?"
"You wanna change it into days?" you asked, raising an eyebrow in challenge.
"No. I'll wait for you." he replied quickly, not wanting to part with you for longer than it necessary.
"Perfect." you gave him a quick goodbye kiss and ran back to Katherine.
Well, maybe you were the only one after all. - you thought with a smile, fiddling with the ring that was adorning your finger again.

Fiancée Secret - part 1
Tumblr media
Part 2
Request from @deepprincesstraveler Reader is pregnant but Klaus doesn't know since they broke up after he cheated. Reader is a hybrid (werewolf - witch).
Hayley doesn't end up pregnant.
"Morning love." His morning voice meets my ears. His right hand twirling some of my hair. Stretching my arms over my head I yawn still sleepy. "Morning Nik..." I slightly roll wincing from our fun last night. His right hand resting to my waist looking sad. "Did I hurt you, Y/n?" My hand coming to cup his face kissing him gently. His lips molded over mine. "You didn't. You never could...no matter how many walls you have built." He rolls me on my back smirking when my eyes trailed up his bare chest with him hovering over me. "You'll always knock them down. Seeing the light in me when no one else could..." He makes me moan when his lips crash to mine but he pulls away resting his forehead on mine, intertwine our fingers where my engagement rests. "I love you, my beautiful fiancée ." Wrapping my arms around his neck pulling him in for another passionate kiss, giving him the words 'I love you' right back.
Our relationship started out by me joining to become one of his hybrids. He had a total of 14. 12 were killed by him with a sword except for Tyler Lockwood who he wanted to punish for eternity...and finally me. The 'Save Elena Gang' tried to break our bond but failed. The other hybrids he treated poorly. Yet when I was around just a simple glance or smile could break away his murderous outsides for me to see the good gentle side. Plus I'm attracted to his accent, most girls usually are. He popped the question in Las Vegas where I've always wanted to go a year ago.
Now he's off somewhere running around Mystic Falls searching for the cure to Vampirism. I'm sitting on the couch in his mansion livingroom after being out practicing magic to aid in his search but so far I've got nothing. My mother was a werewolf and my father used to be a witch apart of a coven until they wanted to create a family...making me. Klaus was suprised to meet another hybrid and studded at the fact I willingly joined him. No need for a sire bond like all the other hybrids were burdened with, loyal to him without a choice.
Rubbing my eyes I open the bedroom door after running through the woods in my wood form for a few hours to tire myself out I gasped sharply. Seeing the brown hair and brown eyes of Hayley, Tyler's friend staring at me naked. Nik sees me trying to stop me from running. "Y/n it's not what you think-" Tears falling from my eyes I flee the room grabbing my stuff from downstairs. Not giving him the chance to explain...because he doesn't deserve it. He's just using me, like a fling from the bar. Removing the ring I tossed it in the doorway sobbing. He's never loved me.
Wipping some puke from my mouth I lay my head against the bathroom door. I've been throwing up since last night. The very smell of my favorite foods makes me gag. Resting a hand to my forehead I try catching my breath feeling my head pounding. My first 5 months in New Orleans were peaceful. At least when I didn't remember this city is Klaus's favorite place in the world. But this last month has been hell because of this strange sickness, sleepiness nights and the longing desires to be in his arms again. All combined with the reminder that he cheated - cheated on the woman he used to call his fiancée.
A loud knock from my apartment door makes me force myself to my feet. Wearing a baggy sweatshirt and gym shorts my hair braided over my right shoulder. "Hello my name is Freya Mikaelson. Are you Y/n L/n?" A young woman standing in my doorway a book under her arm. Mikaelson. Of course Nik sends his family. Hold on I've met his siblings and he never mentioned that name. "Yes. Who the heck are you?" Freya slowly stepped inside laying the book out for me to recognize the words on the pages. A witch's grimoire to be exact. "I'm sorry to intrude Y/n. But I've seen something that can't go unnoticed. Something that defies all laws of nature. With you being part witch I felt it best you know what's fallen upon you."
"Fallen upon me. I'm sorry I'm confused." I step towards her still keeping my distance from the strange so called Mikaelson in my house. "I've had a vision of you and Niklaus. Where you're with child, his child-" Raising a hand I cut her off slightly laughing at her statement. "You're insane. Vampires cannot have kids. Honestly I must be hallucinating this right now." Freya stares me in the eye pulling out a vial of blood dripping it onto a map, doing a locator spell as a show of proof. The blood travels to circle where my apartment is located. "The blood is Niklaus's and it draws straight back to you. You are Indeed pregnant Y/n. You're child will be a tribrid. Part werewolf, vampire and witch all together."
The blood on the map is something I can't assume is a trick. Those spells are always accurate. Resting my hands on my stomach and closing my eyes. It all makes sense now. The reasons I've been feeling horrible for the last month. "Freya I don't know you very well or really at all. But I - promise me you won't tell Nik about this." She narrowed her brows at my request. "He deserves to know-" Bawling my hands into fists I snarl feeling my eyes glow the hybrid gold. "He doesn't deserve anything associated with me!"
"What has he done to you?" The witch before me softly asked. Dropping down on my bed I clutch the bedsheets still imagining Hayley and him sharing the same bed we were in earlier that morning. "He cheated on me with a werewolf named Hayley. We used to be engaged until I found him in bed - he doesn't deserve to know about this baby." Freya runs a hand through her locks closing the book after crumbling the map with blood on it. "I'll keep it secret. Hopefully things will work out for the both of you." She exited the apartment allowing me to crash onto my bed.
I toss and turn hearing my window opening with a whooshing sound in the middle of the night. Squinting my eyes open I glared at the man before me only being able to see him with the glow of the city lights. "Phantamogriphia decorum!" Raising my hand I use the illusion spell on Nik. He groans grabbing his forehead in pain. "I deserved that - but uh - can we talk!" Lowering my hand I cross my arms over my chest angrily. "There's nothing you can say to me, Niklaus!"
My eyes locked onto his blue ones that hold tears. I never call him his full name unless I'm really furious with him. He slowly stepped to bend on his knees at the foot of my bed, my engagement ring between his fingers. "I never stopped loving you, Y/n. My awe-inspiring hybrid." His eyes are gentle and watery but there's no way I'll forgive him that easily. He was my first love after all.

Blood red: a fitting jewel for a Mikaelson's bride.
Without a doubt it was a beautiful ring that you had been given; nor had you expected a traditional diamond from your intended. An enchanting arrangement of rubies along a silver band, priceless beyond your imagination. But as fitting as it was to have been the choice of the man who had placed it on your finger, you couldn't help but feel that it was perhaps just as much a warning.
After all, this was no simple union: he was no regular groom; nor were you the blushing bride. It was not a blessed marriage you were walking in to but a promise between the damned.
"[Y/N]?" A singsong voice, followed by an enthusiastic knock dragged you from your troubled thoughts.
The great, almost monstrous door to your dressing room creaked open, revealing the beaming face of Rebekah, the sister of your fiancé.
"Oh," she gasped, "look at you!" She rushed to your side, taking your hands in hers. "You look exquisite."
With what you could only call a smirk, she added, "Niklaus will be speechless."
It never failed to confuse you: how often they acted as if there was genuine affection between you and Klaus. As if the marriage was one of love, and not business, a bargain that was more beneficial to the partnership between your families than to you yourself.
There was no doubt Klaus was handsome. You were mature enough to admit that; even to agree that to marry him would tie you to an undeniably powerful family, ensuring not just your safety but that of your loved ones forever. But love? That was not ensured.
As Rebekah lifted your veil, you found your tongue become loose and, without truly realising it, you asked her, "Why are you so kind to me, Rebekah?"
Though her smile remained, her furrowed brows creased the sides of her perplexed eyes. "Because you're kind. You always have been." Brushing down your wedding gown, she continued, "And, you make Niklaus kind. Here is a secret, between you and me, for we are to be sisters after all: he smiles at you, when you're not looking."
You tried to smile, you tried to speak; but it was as if you were paralysed. Rebekah, too busy admiring how beautiful you looked as a bride, to your surprise did not notice.
"There are so many guests! Here to see the new member of the Mikaelson family." She brushed a curled lock of hair away from your face. "Our mother was a witch too, you know. But you're much nicer."
There came another knock at the door; but, this time, it seemed hesitant. Instead of entering as Rebekah had done, a voice came softly muffled behind the polished wood—
"May I come in?"
Klaus.
Immediately, Rebekah jumped towards the door. You turned away at once, for a split second wondering if you should flee behind the room divider.
Rebekah opened the door only slightly to glare (teasingly) out at her brother. "Don't you know, Klaus, it's bad luck for the groom to see his bride. That too in her wedding dress."
"If you would observe, dear sister, I have closed my eyes." And indeed, he did. He did not push his way in. Softly, he asked "If [Y/N] would allow me, have the heart to let me in, Becky. I wish only to speak with her."
You glanced over your shoulder where you had nervously paced to the vanity, and at the same time Rebekah looked to you for approval.
Upsetting Niklaus Mikaelson was the last thing you wanted to do. Though reluctant, you gave a nod. Rebekah opened the door wider and you sat with your back turned at the vanity — away from the door, away from him. Your hands trembled as you lowered your veil.
"I won't berate you for breaking tradition, brother. She is too beautiful to resist. But keep those eyes shut! And I will of course have a favour from you for this."
"Ask for anything, and I shall grant it happily," Klaus replied.
"Oh?" Rebekah grinned. "Then your first daughter must be named after me."
Your breath caught in your throat. Daughter... To have offspring, powerful and important, was the reason you had been promised to Klaus, to continue both your bloodlines. But you had not dared truly think of it. You wondered now what the children of a hybrid and a witch would grow to become. What future would this marriage hold for not just you, but the world as well?
"That is up to [Y/N]," Klaus replied — modestly, almost shy, but you couldn't imagine him being shy.
You looked in the mirror to see Rebekah's eager smile turned upon you. Klaus stood beside her in the doorway — and despite yourself, you almost laughed at the sight of his closed eyes.
Rebekah's fondness when she called you 'sister' and the weeks she had spent welcoming you into their home, brought a smile to your lips and, wishing to return her affections, you consented.
"You will be my sister, how can I not grant your wish?"
"Thank you!" She clapped her hands and turned to Klaus. "Very well, I am satisfied. Go on." With a wink and a wave, she was gone, calling back, "Leave the door ajar!"
With her gone, the room fell still. A moment passed. You dared not look at him, not even at his reflection.
"I apologise for my sudden intrusion." His voice was quiet — cautious. He was soft-spoken as is, but had the Mikaelson boldness; an arrogance, you could even say.
His nearing footsteps were drowned out by the drumming of your heart.
His approach was slow, as if he wished not to frighten a cowering animal. You might as well have been. You felt like you'd be eaten up.
Eyes still shut, had he not been what he was, you'd have expected him to never find you as he did, not one falter in the steps he took in a perfect line to your position. Drawn to you no doubt by the beating of your heart, and your scent.
"It's alright," you found your voice, just enough to murmur.
He must have heard your hesitance. He stopped. "I just... wanted to talk to you. Before the ceremony."
Hesitantly, you glanced at his reflection. You hadn't had the time to notice how debonair he looked in his suit when he first entered. He looked almost innocent in that moment, no beast hidden beneath that human facade.
You thought perhaps it was because you were nervous that you didn't divert your gaze; but you now followed his frame in the reflection keenly.
"Of course," you replied. "What would you like to say?"
Klaus listened to your heartbeat, the anxious shake of your breath as it left your lips. He came closer. Tentatively,  he took your hand in his, kneeling at your side. His warm palm engulfed your hand, and though you weren't unused to this touch, you still marvelled at how much bigger his hand was compared to yours.
"I need you to be honest with me, [Y/N]," he said, barely above a whisper. "Do you want this? This marriage?"
"What?" In your shock, you pulled your hand out of his. "I... I don't understand. We have an hour before the ceremony. Do you not want this?"
His frown etched genuine concern across his features. He remained on his knees, but made no move to touch you again.
"I know you're unhappy. I've seen you. I can hear it."
He caught your breath catch now.
Softly, he assured, "You have every right to break this bond. If that's what you want, I'll set you free — without consequences. You will still have my protection — you and your whole family. I give you my word." As if he knew you would not trust him, he drew a breath, and admitted, "You have grown dearer to me than you could imagine. I know you expect little of me. I know I have a reputation for being heartless. But that’s... not true. I care for you. I truly care for you. And to me, only your happiness matters now."
Set free... You could barely imagine that beautiful life. You'd never thought it possible. As you saw yourself abandoning your family's craft to find a normal, simple existence, you heard your mother's voice, pleading, "You must do this. For the family. For your sake. We will be safe with them, my love. I promise you. And perhaps, someday, you will be happy."
"I can't..." Panicked, you inhaled sharply, the breath trembling. You whispered, "I don't know. If... if you don't want me, then..."
"That is far from my meaning," Klaus lowered his head with a soft chuckle. He shook his head as he said, "No, no, [Y/N], I'm concerned only about whether or not you want to be married to me."
Unable to say much else, you asked, "Why?"
"I had thought I’d made it quite obvious." Had his eyes been open then, you were sure to be entranced.
"I love you. I want you. But if you marry me and are made miserable for it, then my love for you wants you to be free. I had thought I would marry you regardless and wait for you to love me but I cannot do that to you. But if you decide to stay, if you marry me of your own free will, I will do everything in my power to make you happy. That is a vow. This is my solemn promise. But you haven't smiled since before our engagement. I don't want that for you for the rest of your life. If you would give me a chance, however, as your husband it will be my mission, now and forever, to make you smile. I promise you forever, [Y/N] — a forever filled with happiness. If only you'll have me. And if only you'll let me."
Perhaps your mother was right. Maybe someday, you could be happy.
Maybe you could be happy already.
Klaus had kissed you just once, when you had been engaged. A chaste kiss, nothing that overstepped any boundaries. A second's brush of his lips on yours, and then he was gone. Since then, he'd only ever kissed your hand in greeting, a gentleman's gesture that even his brothers performed. You couldn't tell yourself why, but you lifted your veil then, a sudden courage coursing in your blood — and in seizing the future, you allowed yourself this chance to be happy, and cupped his face in your hands.
A smile came naturally to your lips.
Before his eyes could flutter open in surprise, you leaned down, and kissed him. His lips were soft and he was warm. It was the first time you realised Niklaus Mikaelson was a man, not a monster.
You drew back to whisper against his lips. "I accept."
will probably edit. stay tuned. :)

———————————————————————————————————
Manosque, France was a beautiful little southern village that Elijah found himself drawn to, once he had decided not to pursue his mysteriously forgotten past. Having known only his first name, he had to relearn what it was to be a vampire, which he got his education from a beautiful nightwalker vampire named Antoinette.
It was after she left him behind and he had chosen to not pursue his past, choosing to instead chase after her, that he make the journey to the quaint little town. He had wanted to settle down there with the lovey female vampire and live in peace, away from the ghosts from the past that had been chasing after him.
Antoinette had been surprised to see Elijah in the little bar, after leaving him months before in New York City. She had taken up preforming as a piano player there and was quite popular. Upon confessing that he had come to be with her. They had begun a romantic relationship, living in peace and joy together without the burden of his past lingering over them.
He had found a wonderfully simple existence, also as a piano player in that same little bar. He had even gone so far as to compel the owner to give it to him - and his lover. Elijah enjoyed playing there every evening, playing for the audience whom all flocked there to listen to the mysterious and handsome gentleman’s music.
Yes, he was happy and tranquil in his new existence as an amnesiac vampire; playing, feeding, and spending his time with Antoinette. He was certainly not hurting for company or for simplistic joy, now that his past didn’t haunt him. Now that he had let it go.
Then one night, his past returned in the form of Klaus Mikaelson, whom had come to try and reclaim his lost brother that Elijah refused to be. He had failed to convince him to return to his old life, choosing his new existence over the old one.
Soon after that, a beauty like no other appeared while Elijah played, catching his eye immediately. She stood at the bar and watched him through the crowd of patrons. She was stunning with a shining grace that seemed too otherworldly to be of this world. Her pale skin and even paler white hair shone and shimmered under the low lighting of the establishment. Her sapphire blue eyes were ancient and striking in the wisdom that shown there.
This mystery woman was certainly unlike anyone he had ever seen and he was immediately drawn to her in a far more profound way than anyone else, even Antoinette - and they hadn’t even interacted yet. It was fortunate that his lady wasn’t there to see him gazing at the strange and yet familiar woman with a captivated stare, as if he was entranced. Antoinette would be none too pleased with him otherwise.
Then like a ghost, she vanished from sight as quickly and suddenly as she had appeared, leaving Elijah to wonder if she had been there at all. Perhaps he was going insane, he thought to himself, a side effect of his amnesia?
A little while later, he returned to the small apartment he shared with his fiancée, Antoinette, as the mysterious beauty remained on his mind. He tried to distract himself by talking of his upcoming wedding with his lady, trying to hide his fascination with the other woman from her. He didn’t want her to know. He wanted to believe whatever had transpired had been nothing.
However, there was a surprise knock on the front door of the apartment. Curious as well as wary as to whom was calling so late, Elijah went and opened it. As if his mind had summoned her, there she was on the other side of the door, that pale beauty from the bar. She looked furious.
Before he knew what had happened, she slapped him hard across the face and then proceeded to grab him by the jacket he wore, pushing him back into the apartment. There was an angry growl rubbling through her as she did.
“What the hell did you do, Elijah?” She raged at him, while he remained dazed and confused.
Recovering upon hearing his name fall from her lips, he looked at her suspiciously.
She released him and carried on in her yelling, “I went away on a mission for a moment and I come back to a broken family, forced apart, because of the Hollow! Worse than that, I find out that you had Vincent and Marcel compel away your memories!” She sighed as the rage left her and as a result, her voice became small and sad, “Compel away...me, us!”
Elijah didn’t understand what she was trying to say, but he wouldn’t since this fiery woman was someone from his forgotten past. He rubbed the side of his face that still stung from her slap, as he gazed at her, her broken expression having him feeling almost guilty. Almost.
“Look, whoever you are, I don’t know you,” he responded quickly. “I’m sorry that you came all this way to assault me for whatever you’re babbling about, but I think you should leave.”
He could feel Antoinette come up beside him and reach for his hand in comfort and perhaps in feeling territorial, but the mystery lady saw it and growled warningly at her, “Stay back!”
Immediately, his fiancée moved away out of fear.
Not liking the way this woman from his past treated the woman he loved now, Elijah became more insistent. “I don’t know what it is you want,” he told the pale beauty coolly, “but quite frankly, I don’t care. Whatever we were, that’s not my life anymore. I have a new one here. I have a business, a home, a fiancée, and I am happy. Please respect that and go.”
The mystery woman’s broken expression turned into one of devastation that then turned into a cool rage. She glanced at Antoinette, as she said to him, “A fiancée? Well, good luck in marrying her since you are a married man already.” Her eyes returned to him, watching his shocked expression with mild amusement.
“What...You?”
“Oh yes. My name is Eternity Mikaelson,” the otherworldly lady introduced herself. “It’s a long story, but I am your wife. I came here after Niklaus failed to bring you home. I thought I could do what he could not and convince you to return to New Orleans with me, to put our broken family back together again.”
Elijah couldn’t believe what he was hearing. He had a wife? Where had she been all this time then? She had said she had been away when he had his memories wiped away from his mind. Why had she waited all this time to come? What had she been doing that kept her from preventing his erasure of identity?
He had so many questions. However, as it began to feel as if his sanity was slipping away, like before when he had gone searching for his past, he immediately rejected it - rejected her. He didn’t want to feel that desperate and devastating insanity again. Ever. He feared it, he loathed it.
“I’m sorry you came all this way, but I’m not interested,” he told her with finality. “I’ll call a divorce lawyer or whatever, to set you free, but I’m not going anywhere. I am staying here, away from that toxic family of misery and woe, I suggest you get away from them too. They’re poison and I refuse to be a part of it.”
Eternity sighed sadly, “Oh, my love, you know so little. Fine. I’ll leave here tonight, but I’m not leaving this quaint little village without you and should you leave it, I’ll give chase until I finally wear you down, until you finally give in. I’m not giving up. This is far from over.”
With flawless grace, she turned and walked out the door, closing it behind her.
Elijah immediately felt a vague sensation of devastation, watching her go. It felt as if someone had their fist around his heart and was squeezing it tightly. Yet, he tried to ignore it, as he turned to Antoinette, who obviously didn’t know what to say or do with the revelation that he had a wife to whom he had sworn to spend his life with once upon a time.
“Hey, don’t worry,” he comforted her, taking her hand in his and kissing the palm. “I’ll figure out how to get a divorce and then we can start our life together.”
“You would choose me over her?” Antoinette asked, surprised. “She’s something special, a being from a distant place. I can tell. Yet, you wish to be with me instead?”
He nodded with a determined look, “That woman, no matter how special, is from a past that I don’t want anymore. I want what I’ve built here with you. I want our future. I want you.”
Antoinette smiled softly, and she seemed to accept what he told her, but there was still some uncertainty in her eyes. It was understandable. Eternity, whatever she was, was rather remarkable. He understood her uncertainty over his choosing the ordinary instead of the extraordinary, as not many would.
“I love you, Antoinette,” Elijah murmured to her, kissing her lips tenderly. “I am yours...forever.”
He had tried to not think about the otherworldly woman. He hadn’t attempted to believe that Eternity had been serious when she said she wasn’t leaving without him. He had thought that she would leave eventually. He should have taken her words more seriously, he soon realized.
For night after night, she would show up, just to stand at the bar and watch him with a small, almost knowing smile upon her pink lips. Every time he moved to meet her there, to tell her to leave, she would vanish into the crowd and then disappear completely, leaving him frustrated...with his ever growing curiosity about her and about their supposed life together. He wanted to know, but tried hard not to, afraid of the slip into insanity in chasing after any part of his forgotten past. Therefore, Elijah wanted her gone, yet he could never catch her.
She would come and stand at the bar to watch him, even when Antoinette was around, playing the piano by his side. His lady was displeased to see the other woman there and her uncertainty that he would remain hers only grew the more she witnessed the way her lover and his wife stared at each other. One time, Elijah purposefully made out with his fiancée in front of Eternity, in an attempt to dissuade her from continuing to show up there as well as prove to Antoinette that he was permanently hers.
The display hadn’t worked and Eternity carried on coming, waiting for him to crack.
Finally, he had enough and began to strategize a way to trap the mysterious beauty that had been tormenting him for weeks. He wouldn’t let her get away again. He had to stop the madness, to tell her to leave and never come back, despite the pain he felt in his rejection of her.
One night, while he played at the piano, Eternity showed up as always, standing at the bar and watching him watch her. She grinned at him flirtatiously whenever their eyes would meet this time, adding something new to her endless torment of him. Despite his determination to resist her plot to drag him back into his old life, her seduction was infectious, because he found himself automatically returning her subtle flirtation with his own lopsided grin - charming and libidinous.
Determined to trap her once and for all, Elijah waited for just the right moment, the moment she would try and flee into the crowd. When he saw her preparing to turn and make her escape, he used his vampire speed to intercept before she could even walk away from the bar. With a wicked smirk at her surprise from the change in their game, he used that to his advantage, grabbing hold of her and speeding away to the darkest corner of the little bar.
Pushing her against the wall, he held her firmly by the throat and glared down at her as he growled, “Why do you insist on coming here every night? Why haven’t you taken the hint that I’m not interested in you or the past you’re trying to bring me back to?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’m but a simple patron come to enjoy the music,” she responded coyly, gazing at him without fear, only amusement.
He tightened his hold on her neck, but still she did not show fear of him. “That’s bullshit,” he hissed in frustration. “You’re here to drive me crazy! What do I have to do to get you to leave me alone?”
She shrugged, “You know what. Come home.”
Growling in frustration, he came nose to nose with her as he hissed, “I. Am. Not. Going. Anywhere. With. You.”
“Then I shall remain until you change your mind,” Eternity shrugged again.
He became desperate then. For a long time, he had sought answers to his forgotten past. Yet, he had come up empty at every turn, until he had been forced to stop the search or else lose his mind. But now, here was a woman who was from that past he couldn’t remember, whom he had been married to and probably happy with, as happy as the miserable Elijah Mikaelson could be anyway. Part of him wanted to give in, wanted to know her, but his fears and his determination to keep his much happier present intact kept him from doing so.
However, just as he was about to reiterate that he wasn’t going, Eternity stopped him by pressing her mouth to his in a sweet, but brief kiss. “Please, just consider it,” she murmured as she pulled her mouth from his.
“Why do you insist on this?” Elijah asked softly, surprised by her kiss, her touch familiar upon his lips.
“Because I love you,” she replied just as softly, “and you shouldn’t be here. It’s my fault that you are and I want to fix that. Just consider coming home, please?”
With that, Eternity slipped away from him and disappeared without a trace, yet again, leaving him utterly frustrated...and intrigued.
To Be Continued....

Meet the Mikaelsons
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Enzo St. John x Mikaelson Reader
Words: 2363
Part 2 of 4: Part One
Summary: The engagement is official! You and your new fiance, Enzo, travel down to the spot of the big day; New Orleans. With wedding plans already in mind, your announcement to your family goes much better than Enzo expected. Now all he has to do is survive your brothers until the ceremony.
Note: This might be my favorite chapter to write for the fact that I get to come up with the Mikaelsons’ reaction to the reader getting married. Especially to Enzo. Plus some Klaus drama and precious Elijah? My cup of tea, and I hope that it is yours as well! (Repost: I forgot how much I love writing Elijah and Klaus! Reading this made me so nostalgic. I know that Vampire Diaries/Originals doesn’t get read as much anymore, but I really hope there are some of you out there that love them as much as I do.)
-
Road trips with Enzo were always some of your favorite memories. Whether it was belting to the music on the radio or just riding in silence, listening to each other’s breathing move along with the hum of the engine, they always managed to bring a smile to your face, as well as his.
But the buzz of the road died as soon as your bags hit the sidewalk outside the compound. The city sounds fell deaf on your ears, turned off by the sound of your heartbeat. The last time you were here, it was to scatter the ashes of your oldest brother Finn. Enzo had helped numb the ache that came from missing your siblings, but now, standing merely feet away from seeing them again, the feeling was almost unbearable. Excitement and worry mixed within you to the point that it was suffocating. Seeing the look on your face, Enzo gently grabbed your hand and gave you a small smile.
“It’s alright love.” He slowly led you into the entrance. You gripped the bars of the gate and looked around inside.
“Freya?” You called into the courtyard. At first, there was just that still silence, but then the clicking of footsteps cut through the quiet. The oldest Mikaelson came into your view, curiosity spread across her features.
“Y/N?” She shrieked excitedly. With a wave of her hand, the gate opened and you were captured in your sister’s embrace. She pulled you further into the compound, but you stopped her.
“Um, I brought a guest.” You stepped to the side, revealing the terrified vampire behind you. Enzo waved awkwardly, waiting to be invited inside. Freya watched him cautiously.
“Come in.” She said slowly. He stepped across the threshold and laced his fingers through yours again. You ignored her skeptical glances at your fiance and pulled her into your arms.
“I’ve missed you so much.” You breathed into her blonde hair. It was shorter than it was the last time you last saw her. Tears welled in your eyes, taking in every sound of the compound, filling your head with them. You were home.
Freya stepped away from you.
“I’ve missed you too, little sister.” She smiled brightly at you, then turned her attention to Enzo. “And who, may I ask, is this?” He started to introduce himself, but yet another voice cut him off.
“Y/N!” Rebekah sped over to you and nearly tackled you to the ground with an infamous bear hug. “You know it’s rude to visit without calling us first.” She scolded playfully.
“I wanted it to be a surprise!” You laughed. There was a light murmur coming from upstairs. Three people in a deep conversation. “And the boys are arguing, no doubt?” She smirked.
“They won’t be once they see that you’re here.” You placed a hand on your younger sister’s face.
“When has that ever stopped them before?” You snickered. Like Freya, her eyes fell on Enzo, her head cocking to the side.
“And who might this heartbreaker be?” She asked. Enzo put on his dashing grin and bowed.
“Lorenzo St. John. Friends call me Enzo.” He greeted. You couldn’t help the smile creeping onto your face. He was quite the charmer. Flipping her hair over her shoulder, Rebekah shook his hand. Enzo tried not to wince at her incredibly strong grip.
“I’ve heard about you, Enzo. I have some friends back in Mystic Falls, and they tell me that you’re a troublemaker.” Rebekah stepped closer to him, her expression a dare for him to retaliate and give her a reason to tear him to pieces. He chuckled.
“Yes well, from what I’ve been told, I should fit right in here.” Rebekah raised an eyebrow at his confidence. You snickered. She shrugged her shoulders as if to say ‘Fair enough’ and sat down on the sofa. Enzo whispered. “That wasn’t so bad.”
“She wasn’t the one you needed to worry about.”
Your eyes darted upsards as your three brothers emerged from the room above you, looking down into the courtyard, their expressions menacingly serious. Your heart was beating faster than you could speed up the stairs and into Elijah’s waiting arms.
“Elijah! How I’ve missed you.” The tears were openly streaming down your face as he held the back of your head in his hand, his other arm wrapped tightly around you. Behind him, someone coughed in annoyance. The two of you pulled away.
“No, no, continue.” Kol crossed his arms in a dramatic fashion. “It’s not like I’m her twin brother or anything…” Laughing through your tears of happiness, you ruffled Kol’s hair and hugged him as well.
“Are you ready to cause mischief for our siblings?” You challenged, your twin grinning maniacally.
“Always, dear sister.” He cheered. You turned to greet the third brother, but Klaus was still staring down into the courtyard at a semi-nervous Enzo.
“How rude of you Y/N, to not introduce us to our new guest.” Klaus turned to you, eyebrows raised and hands clasped behind his back. You placed a loving kiss on his cheek.
“I missed you too, Nik.” You leaped over the railing, landing gracefully on your feet. You wrapped your arm around Enzo. “Everyone, this is Enzo.” A deep breath filled you with confidence as you looked up at your brothers. “We are engaged.”
At first there was a shocked silence, but to everyone’s surprise, Klaus’ laughter rang through the compound.
“No you’re not.” He grinned wildly at the two of you and poured himself a drink.
“Yes we are, Nik.” You scoffed. He shook his head, still chuckling deeply. “What? Why is that such an impossible thought?”
“Because I know you, Y/N. You’re not exactly the type to chain yourself to one person for eternity. Especially not someone you met in dreary Mystic Falls.”
“Well I think we both know that people in Mystic Falls can be quite charming. Isn’t that right, Klaus?” You snapped. His face went red. You knew very well about his infatuation with Caroline. Elijah shifted uncomfortably, keeping his eyes solely on you. Kol jumped down to join you, throwing an arm around your shoulder.
“This calls for celebration! Not only has the prodigal sister returned, she has brought a new member to the family. I say we all head to Rousseau's for a drink.” He proposed, but the rest of the family wasn’t as sure.
“You don’t care what is going on as long as it means a round of drinks, do you?” Rebekah snapped at her wily older brother. She turned to you, and her scowl slowly spread into a smile. “But I suppose a wedding wouldn’t be such a bad idea…” You squealed with excitement and pulled her into another bear hug. “What can I say; I’m a hopeless romantic.” You pulled away and shot Enzo a look as if to say ‘I told you’. Elijah slowly walked down the stairs, not saying a word, his expression unreadable.
“Eli?” You stepped towards him cautiously. Of all of your siblings, you wanted his approval the most. Of course, you wanted everyone to love Enzo as much as you did, but Elijah was different. He would hide his true feelings if it meant pleasing everyone else. You just wanted him to be deeply and truly happy for you. After a moment of your stares, he finally smirked and shrugged his shoulders. He took your face in his hands and softly kissed your forehead with a small smile.
“I’m just happy you’re home.”
“Thank you thank you thank you!” You squealed, wrapping your arms around your big brother’s neck. He chuckled and shot Klaus a warning glance over your shoulder. He held up his hands innocently with a coy smile.
“What do you say…” Klaus was off of the balcony and in front of him in a blink. “Enzo?” He questioned, taking a step towards the much younger vampire. Through his nerves, Enzo smiled back, flashing his teeth.
“Drinks on me.”
-
After a round of bourbon and whiskey, the whole family settled back to the compound for the night, with you and Enzo taking your usual room. You flopped down onto the bed, giggling like a little schoolgirl. Enzo laid down next to you, grinning at your happiness.
“I can’t believe I’m home!” You sighed merrily. Enzo played with a strand of your hair, twirling it around his finger.
“I can definitely see that I have my work cut out for me.” He smirked. You bit your lip.
“You hate them, don’t you.” You pouted, running your fingers through your hair. “I know that they can be difficult and dramatic but-”
“I don’t hate your family.” Enzo interrupted, his deep laugh sending waves through you. “I just don’t think they like me very much.”
“They’ll learn to love you, I promise.” You pulled him into a deep, passionate kiss. “I’m just worried Klaus won’t let them have the chance.”
“So am I.” He muttered. A knock at the door alerted you both. You scrambled away from your fiancé.
“Come in!” You shouted and the knob turned. Elijah stepped into the room and you could practically feel Enzo’s relief. Elijah sensed his nervousness as well and smirked.
“I hope that you are feeling at home, Lorenzo. I know that we can be…difficult to adjust to.” He stood with his hands clasped in front of him, like he had some great matter to discuss. “Y/N, I was wondering if I could have a word with you before you settled in for the night.”
“Uh, yeah.” You said, feeling slightly skeptical. Enzo shook his head frantically, worrying that this may be a plot to get him in the room alone so that Klaus could pounce. You shot him a glare before following your brother into the library down the hall.
“I see that your fiancé isn’t quite used to Niklaus’ hospitality.” Elijah chuckled. You cringed.
“Yeah… I think they just need a little time.”
“I believe a few decades will do.” He noted with a smile. The two of you laughed. His expression became serious. “Y/N, I am not going to try and change your mind about marrying Lorenzo.” You opened your mouth to object, but he cut you off with a wave of his hand. “I just hope you know what you’re getting into.”
“I’ve lived for a thousand years, Eli. I think I know that marriages can be difficult.” You scoffed. Elijah sighed.
“That is not what I meant.” He watched you intensely. “You are bringing him into our family. Our enemies will become his. Lorenzo is much more vulnerable than you and I. He can be killed just as easily as any other vampire.”
“Enzo knows all of this. And he can handle himself.” You protested. “Besides, we will be there to protect him.” Elijah put a hand on your shoulder.
“I want you to be happy, Y/N. I truly do.” He looked deeply into your eyes, trying to get his point across. “I simply don’t want to see you lose Lorenzo the way Hayley lost Jackson.” You remembered the day that Hayley called you to tell you that Jackson had been killed. You had grown close to the kind werewolf, and finding out about his death had been crushing.
“You’re right.” You sighed, closing your eyes so you weren’t looking into your brother’s concerned stare anymore. “I hadn’t even really thought of the danger I would be putting him in....” You blew out a long frustrated breath. “Maybe this was a bad idea. I mean, what was I really thinking? That I could just force him into our family? I thought that it would fix everything but maybe I just wanted to rush into this so he couldn’t run away. Maybe I should just call everything off. Let him find someone who’s rivalries don’t extend back to the 12th century.” You ranted until you were out of breath.
He was right, of course. Your noble big brother was always right. Enzo didn’t just have Klaus to worry about, though he was certainly a big enough problem on his own. Your panic was evident and you started to pace. Elijah grabbed your arms and forced you to look at him again.
“Y/N, do you love him?” He questioned, taking you off guard.
“What?”
“It is a simple question, dear sister.” He laughed. “Do you love Lorenzo?” You took a deep breath.
“Of course I love him, Elijah. I asked him to marry me!” You exclaimed. “But-”
“Marry him.” He interrupted. “If there is one thing I have learned from loving Hayley, it is that we never know which day could be our last together. I wake up everyday knowing that I could lose her. But when I see her next to me, I realize that we must cherish what we have instead of living in the fear of losing it.” He placed a caring hand on your cheek.
“Is this your way giving me your blessing?” You asked, feeling slightly confused.
“I suppose you could call it that.” He smirked and you nearly tackled him in a hug. You pulled away.
“There is one more thing I need you to do.” You bit your lip anxiously. “Make sure that Nik doesn’t make a massacre of my future husband?”
“I’ll do my best.” Elijah snickered. “And do make sure he doesn’t do anything to aggravate Niklaus.”
“Klaus would be more infuriated if he didn’t put up a fight.” You grinned and started out of the library door. “Goodnight.”
“Goodnight.” Elijah called back. “And do keep the noise down. We do all have enhanced hearing, remember?”
You laughed as you raced back down the hall into your room. Enzo was pacing in front of the bed, nerves clearly still on edge. When he saw you, his eyes immediately went wide.
“What did he-” He started, but he was quickly interrupted by your ecstatic kiss, knocking him over onto the bed. He pushed you back, surprised by your sudden enthusiasm. “Y/N, what did your brother say?”
“We’re going to be married!” You squealed, coming in for another kiss.

Never, Ever (The Proposal)
PART ONE PART TWO
Pairing: Stefan Salvatore x Klaus Mikaelson x Reader
Desc.: Part three to Never, Ever, in which Klaus proposes.
Notes: I’ve had too much fun with Never, Ever to end it in 2 parts... this will have to be moved to ‘series’ on the masterlist lol
Tumblr media
It had been three years since you and Klaus reunited.
Maybe it seemed too soon to some, but Klaus had been waiting a century to be with you again, to make you his forever.
“Do you think she’ll like it?” Klaus asked softly, careful not to be heard.
Elena, who had become your best friend in the past years, marveled at the large diamond ring Klaus had chosen. “She’ll love it. But... Klaus, can I be honest?”
Klaus nodded.
Elena’s dark eyes turned solemn. “(Y/N) may not seem like it, but she’s not a forgetful person. She forgave you, but she’s always scared.”
“Scared that I’ll leave again,” Klaus muttered, staring down at the ring. “I just wish I could show her how I feel for her.”
“You need to show her that you’re not going anywhere,” Elena replied. “Then, the proposal will take it the rest of the way.”
Elena turned to leave Klaus’s Mystic Falls home. “By the way, you have my blessing.”
“I didn’t ask.” Klaus glared at her.
“I’m the closest thing she has to family,” Elena replied. “You should have asked me for her hand.”
“Don’t act like you’re from a previous century. I’ve been in ten of them, I didn’t find you in one.”
Elena laughed. “It’s weird working with you. The things I’d do for (Y/N)...”
Klaus smiled. “I feel the same.”
-
It had been three years with Klaus, and he hadn’t left you yet.
But every day, you were put through the pain of missing him for a century. The part of you that had been locked off when he compelled you had lived a hundred years, too, and that part tortured you every day.
You stared out a window in the Salvatore Boarding House, which you miraculously never got kicked out of, chewing on your fingernails.
“Hello, breaker-of-my-brother’s-heart,” Damon said from behind you.
You sighed. “I’ve apologized every day for three years. Stefan’s moved on, why haven’t you?”
“Stefan lost a fiancé, I lost a sister.” Damon downed his bourbon.
You turned to him. “Damon, darling, I still see you as my brother.”
He smiled, only a little. “I know. But you’ll always be an almost.”
“I hate almosts,” you whispered.
“Uh oh. Trouble in Mikaelson Paradise?”
You sighed deeply. “Something like that. I’m almost healed. The pain is almost over. That’s what I tell myself, but it’s only almost true.”
“What, about Klaus?”
“Yes,” you muttered. “I keep missing him, even while he’s here. And it hurts. I just keep thinking about him leaving me.”
Damon laid a hand on your shoulder. “I know.”
You looked into his blue eyes. He did know, and maybe he was the only one that would ever understand. After all, he carried a torch for Katherine Pierce for much longer than a hundred years, and he remembered every moment of it.
You placed your hand on top of his. “I’m so sorry.”
“You can’t change the past,” Damon said, shrugging. “You just have now. But you don’t have to spend your whole life scared. It’s your choice.”
“What do you mean?”
“It’ll hurt, but you’re allowed out. If you can’t get past it, nobody’s stopping you from leaving him.” Damon’s blue eyes were dark. Over the last three years, nobody had ever told you that. You choosing Klaus three years ago was, to everyone you knew, choosing him forever.
You leaned into Damon, and he put his arm around you. “You’re wise beyond your years, big brother.”
“Is it really wise beyond my years if I’m, what, a hundred and fifty-ish?”
“Yes, because you look twenty four.”
-
How do you prove to someone that you’ve loved them a century, and that will never change? How do you show them you’ll never, ever leave again? How do you make a promise that seems so hard?
How could Klaus summarize every minute he ever loved you?
He glanced over to his paints, and smiled.
-
You hadn’t heard from Klaus for three days. Every time you called, Elijah told you that he was wrapped up in his studio.
You were desolate, and so desperate just to hear his voice. If you could hear him say he loved you, it would be true.
Finally, he did call you.
“Hello, love,” he whispered through the phone. “Will you do me a favor?”
You sighed softly, just happy to hear him. “Depends.”
He laughed. “Put on that black dress you wore on our second first date.”
You chuckled. “And what’s this for?”
“You’ll see.” You could practically hear the smirk in his voice. “I love you. See you soon.”
“Love you too,” you said and hung up.
You got ready, same as you did three years ago, putting on that slinky black floor-length dress.
Klaus didn’t come to pick you up himself, he had one of his hybrid drivers come for you.
You were confused when the driver didn’t pull up to Klaus’s house, but instead pulled into the forest.
You climbed out of the car. Little yellow Christmas lights hung from the trees like fireflies in the dark. You followed a graveled path— difficult in heels— until you came to a clearing.
In the center of the clearing, Klaus stood in his tux next to a canvas with a black veil over it, a smirk on his face.
“Hello, love,” he said.
“Klaus,” you whispered, looking around. The ground was covered in red rose petals. “This is beautiful.”
“It isn’t half as beautiful as you,” Klaus replied, suddenly curling his arms around your waist from behind. He pressed a soft kiss to your shoulder.
Your heart thumped wildly in your chest as you turned to look at him. “What’s this for?”
Klaus smiled, his dimples showing. “I love you.”
“I love you, too,” you giggled, turning in his arms so you could look up at him. “But that doesn’t answer my question.”
Klaus cradled your cheek in his hand, his blue eyes suddenly somber. “I feel terrible for abandoning you.”
Your eyes widened. “Klaus, it was a hundred years ago.”
“It’s still hurting you, is it not?” He raised an eyebrow.
You frowned. “I know why you left. It was to protect me.”
“Yes, it was,” Klaus said. “But it was wrong of me not to give you a choice in the matter. I didn’t consider how it would feel if I came back, and that was selfish of me.”
“You sound like Elena,” you muttered, stroking his jaw.
He laughed. “I suppose I do.”
Klaus swayed with you in his arms, twirling you around and around.
Then, hesitantly, he whispered into your ear, “it’s late.”
The night air felt like it was sparkling around you. You remembered that last night in the twenties. “I’m never going home, Nik. Never, ever.”
You heard his heart pick up a beat. “Never, ever it is.”
He stopped dancing, and pulled you at arms length. “Speaking of never, ever... I want to show you something.”
He turned, staring at the large portrait in the center of the clearing. Klaus moved to stand beside it, and unveiled it.
You gasped, your hand over your chest.
It was a painting of you.
You, as you were in the twenties, with (H/C) hair in short curls, skin glowing. You, with red painted lips. You, dancing, with a bouquet of red roses in your arms. Your eyes were closed and you were dancing in delight.
“This,” Klaus whispered, “is what I’ve remembered every night for a hundred years. This is what kept me going. This image of you... You are, by far, the best part of my existence.”
Then, he got down on one knee and pulled a sparkling diamond ring from his pocket. Your eyes filled with tears.
“(Y/N), my love, my life without you was torture. I never want to live that way again,” he said, tears in his eyes. “Never, ever. Will you do me the honor of marrying me?”
Damon’s words rang in your head. You could leave. You could run from the fear of abandonment.
But only for a second. In that second, you realized something— life would never be as sweet, never as beautiful, never as full without Klaus in it.
“Yes,” you cried. He leapt from the ground and held you in his arms, spinning you in the air. “Yes, every day forever!”
The both of you held each other that night, silently, both gazing at the ring on your finger. You would always mourn the century with Klaus that you’d never have.
But new centuries begin all the time.
