Quarterfinals, Match 2
Tumblr media
expand to see all propaganda received! (wall of text warning oh my god this is a severe cautionary message)
Lauryn Hill:
"she paved the way and was hot as fuck the whole time"
"Girl c'mon. Look at her. You're gonna try and tell me that isn't the most beautiful and attractive person alive? Okay. You're lying but okay."
"if u freaks don't give ms. lauryn hill the respect she deserves..."
"actually one of the prettiest women ever I'm such a lesbian for her. like irl I'm already a lesbian but she is helping"
Damon Albarn:
"Don’t think Damon should be here? Why don’t you get your head checked by a jumbo jet? Maybe you’ll feel heavy metal and calm down."
"If Damon is in the “some guy” category, he’s the heavenly and heartbreaking version. Damon is the sort of significant stranger I’d see on the train out of Colchester but could never speak to, just a face seen in passing yet too radiant to be real. I’d fall in love for an hour and carry the ache for a month."
"Damon sets the standard for me. I think he’s the most fascinating man alive. What I find attractive in Damon is not just his gorgeous bone structure and boyish charm, but how wholly he’s committed himself to music. Damon is an artist who walked the walk: in one of his roughest years with some of his rawest songwriting, he said he was no longer excited by anything except the creative process. He was disillusioned with the celebrity of it all, with his relationships suffering for it, and only wanted to make art: nothing more, nothing less. He would go on to compose film scores, write operas and stage musicals, produce other artists’ records, form collectives to fulfill his passion for world music, and create some of the most globally successful music of his career in a completely innovative format that placed him as the phantom behind the characters. Whenever one band takes a break, he makes a solo record or puts together a supergroup to stay busy. He’s uniquely collaborative and still writes personal letters inviting artists to record with him, and yet can function as a one-man show, acting as a multi-instrumentalist, a singer-songwriter and a producer. He’s been a constant voice of bringing British music to the world *and* bringing world music into Britain. Sure, he’s won Brit Awards and a Grammy among others, but he also has a Guinness World Record and was named an Officer of the British Empire for his services to music; his long work with Africa Express earned him respect even from peers who’d previously dismissed him, and his commitment to support his Malian collaborators in the face of violence earned him the title of Local King in Mali. There is so much talent in the world, but there is truly no one else with a career that looks like Damon Albarn’s. Damon is far more than just a prettyboy to look nice on a magazine cover, but looks are the ultimate point of this tournament, so make no mistake: he was terribly, terribly pretty. You watch him performing in the 90s, you sift through photoshoots and interviews and documentaries, and it feels *cruel* how beautiful he was. If his talent was god-given, so was his face. To put a bow on this thesis: I don’t know if Gorillaz and Damon’s musical universe would be the experimental, globe-trotting, boundary-pushing community affair it is if Blur hadn’t become such a central figure in Britpop and if Damon had not been made such a media spectacle, and I don’t know if Damon would have been that spectacle if he wasn’t so ungodly pretty. The domino effect is that Damon’s cherubic face launched a thousand multimedia art school projects for decades to come."
"I wish I was basically any bloke in the 90s so I could tongue Damon Albarn down. Damon will see a man and ask “is anyone gonna kiss that?” and not wait for a response."
"I have a pillow with his face on it. I sleep with it every night 😊"
"“I’m more homosexual than Brett Anderson, always have been. As far as bisexuality goes, I’ve had a taste of that particular fruit, or have been tasted you might say…” is just the rawest most Shakespearean statement ever"
"he is the ultimate Pretty Boy ™. his glorious golden locks, his electric blue eyes. he is if Princess Diana was a Britpop Dude. he is the Regina George of Britpop. he is if Aphrodite took male form. Zeus would come down to earth to fuck him if he knew. he is a caffeinated orange cat let loose. he is deranged. he is unhinged. you never know what will come out of his mouth. he had sexual tension with every single man who knew him. he pulled justine fucking frischmann. his aura knows no bounds. he is a siren. he is a weird guy. but being so gorgeous stunning ethereal didn't stop him from also being one of the most prolific songwriters of his generation"
"THE MAIN BLUR"
"literally where do i even begin. i could write entire essays on this man. a good place to start would be the beetlebum music video, i suppose. i'll never forget the first time i watched that music video. something in me changed, my brain chemistry was altered, my life was never the same, i view the world a lot differently now. and a lot of the viewing i'm doing is of pictures of damon albarn's face because of boy do i have a lot of those saved. every time i try to look for a photo of something on my phone i can't find it because there's so much damon. okay that's maybe an exaggeration but this man has the most unfathomable beauty ever. his eyes? HIS EYES. god dammit i love his eyes i want to stare at them until the end of time like nothing else exists. i'm so normal about this man (lying) and while i'm usually very shameless about my interests i'm actually incredibly glad this propaganda is anonymous because otherwise. yeah. but the world deserves to see damon albarn's beauty and also hear his fantastic voice because what the fuck. his voice is literally the most gorgeous sound ever produced like bro sounds like that and expects me not to fall in love? i want this man to sing his silly songs and talk absolute nonsense to me until the sun eventually blows out and the world ends. cmon damon girlies let's demolish this tournament i know there are a lot of you."
"He’s beautiful. He’s a little rat. He’s a sweetheart. He’s a dickhead. He’s a musical genius. He’s a dumb bitch. He’s a jock. He’s a weirdo. He’s real. He’s an illusion. He’s everything. He’s just Damon."
"DAMON DAMON DAMON where do I begin oh jeez I've hyperfixated on this man for a solid 4 years and still going strong. Damon makes me wish that British people are real. That says A LOT. This man created a whole ass ANIMATED BAND WITH A SHIT TON OF LORE as a SIDE HUSTLE??? Not to mention, what other man has collaborated with Stevie Nicks, MF DOOM, Del the Funky Homosapien, Snoop Dogg, AND Beck?! People, we're literally in the presence of a god. And he's STILL GOING. Anyways, TL;DR, damon is so so so neat and cool and he should definitely win this competition. Thank you."
"Okay 90s Damon is The Perfect Boy yes yes, but the people who parrot the Daily Mail and say "he's ugly now" will never understand. I would still suck every drop from him on his deathbed."
"Vote for whoever you want to. But Damon is so pretty."
"i did not spend hours admiring this beautiful man's face on pinterest just to see him lose."
"Damon Albarn just brings me joy. When I'm watching him perform, following along as the camera lingers on and adores his pretty face, I get butterflies like I'm 15 again. It's nice to still feel that totally unguarded giddiness sometimes."
"God let the intrusive thoughts win making Damon. What if he's a beautiful blond twink with eyes like saucers and dick to his knees, he reads Herman Hesse and plays footie and is insufferable about both, he'll be the most prolific musician of his generation and write operas and seminal albums in 5 different genres and also he's gonna be the dumbest bitch alive? He'll also be kinda bi, but only kinda. And send."
"when i found out about his existence, my life was changed forever. i wish i could use him like the hannah montana boot milk pillow and chuck him at the wall so he makes a loud thud"
"Think of the drama and anon fights it'll cause if Damon wins it all! And think of how quiet it'll get after Damon's out. You'll miss him when he's gone, like memories of a noisy house years after it's grown silent. Choose Damon, and keep the messy train chugging."
"Even the Gallagher brothers have the hots for him."
"Kiss kiss I love him also you can't vote for any of the Seattle men they're literally copy and paste it's not fair. We need Brit representation"
"I want to take care of him, I want to provide for him. I need to gauge his baby blue puppy dog orbs out to I can clean them with wood varnish, paint shades of Pantone 320 C in his eyes, spray eau de parfume by dior in them and sew it back into his eyes like that scene in Toy Story 2."
"Seeing as simply filling the page with ‘Damon’ written 10000000 times isn’t going to cut it 😅 may I admit/submit: I DO have him tattooed on my being (no descriptive, is this anon?); he’s inspired somewhat unhinged late night/early morning fandom conversations in which I’ve served as ‘parish’ priest hearing confessions from all manner of folk about what they’d like to do to him/receive from him; sadly I lost an essay where I detailed why the letters that make up his name suit him so well, and described him as the hot caramel sauce to Graham’s cool vanilla ice cream. He’s a faerie princess with a nose that makes people weep and a voice that feels like the warmest home and he gives amazing hugs. He loves trains and chickens and his tuxedo cat. He’s annoying and sweet and somewhat unhinged and his music saves people and all this is on top of that fantastic dick. He’s a dream yet very real and we’re fucking blessed to be on earth at the same time as him, amen"
"Damon Albarn was a beautiful, beautiful boy. The world saw that, regardless of if every individual reading this has the same taste in men; it felt like a truth of the universe at the time. They don't make celebrities that angelic in face and erratic in personality anymore."
"I need to touch his eyebrows, nose and prostate just one time JUST ONE TIME COME ON"

brits surprise - singer!yn and harry
Tumblr media
ending kinda sucks but i hope you like it :) let me know your thoughts
MY PATREON | MASTERLIST
"Do you want me to hang up so you can get ready?"
"No. Don't," Harry replied, eyes focused on his phone where his girlfriend's face was displayed, "I still have a few minutes before I need to get dressed."
It was one of the most important days for Harry's year, the Brit Awards, it wasn't the first time he was nominated or attending, but after winning Album of The Year at the Grammys mere days before, the night felt even more special.
YN was by his side for the Grammys, cheering for him and holding his hand the entire time. However, her schedule got too tight by the time the Brit Awards came, with tour rehearsals and interviews that didn't allow her to attend the ceremony.
Or that was what Harry thought, but he was completely unaware of the plan his girlfriend, team and friends were orchestrating to get her to London on time to surprise him by announcing one of his awards on stage.
"I really wish you were here," Harry said, running his hands through his dark curls, "But I know you need to rehearse for your tour, and I'm proud of you."
"I'm proud of you too, baby," YN told him, biting back the urge to tell him that she was planning on surprising him, "You're going to do amazing."
"Sue, It's time to get dressed." Lambert voice was heard through the room, and Harry knew it was his cue to hang up.
"I have to go love, but I'll make sure to call you before I go on stage, okay?"
"It's okay, H. Good luck!"
After a couple of hours had passed and Harry delivered an amazing performance, won 3 awards, thanked his former bandamates on stage, kissed Lewis Capaldi and chugged down too many tequila shots, the most important moment of the night was coming up.
Harry was going to get the Album of The Year award and his girlfriend was ready to surprise him on stage.
He was unaware of it all, still thinking that he might not get the award at the end like it happened in 2019 with his album Fine Line.
Mo Gilligan, the host of the night came on stage to introduce who was presenting the category, and when her girlfriend's name was called, Harry thought the alcohol he had chugged down was playing games with his mind.
It was safe to say that he lost his mind when he saw the girl he loved walk out clad in her navy blue suit looking absolutely stunning.
"Good evening Brit Awards!" she said into the mic, making the entire audience erupt in cheers, "You know I wouldn't miss UK's biggest night for anything in the world, and I'm here to present the award for Album of the Year, these are the nominees."
Harry was lost for words, and he didn't care if he lost the award, he just wanted to rush to the stage and kiss his girlfriend.
"And the winner is..." she said after the video showing the nominees was over, opening the envelope, "Harry Styles!"
The melodies from Late Night Talking filled the arena as Harry let out an excited scream and made his way to the stage, eager to reach his girlfriend who was holding out the award for him.
"I can't believe you're here! You sneaky shit!" Harry spoke into her ear as they hugged, placing soft pecks to her cheek, "This is so amazing!" he leaned back to look at her, not thinking twice before grabbing her face and placing a quick peck to her lips.
Remembering that he was on live television and that he had just won a major award, he let go of her and approached the mic to give his speech.
"This night has been really, really special to me and I will never forget it. Thank you so much for the welcome home, I appreciate it so much. There is no place like home. Thank you, thank you, thank you," he paused for a minute to look at his award and smile, "I’m so, so proud to be a British artist out there in the world. I’m so proud to be here tonight celebrating British artists and British music. Thank you, thank you, thank you," he turned his face to look at his girlfriend fro a minute, "I would also love to thank this stunning, sneaky woman who didn't tell me she was going to be here, you really surprised me, love. I'm so grateful you're here, I love you," he blew a quick kiss to her, and she mouthed a soft "I love you" back, "I’m gonna hand it over to Tom and Tyler. Thank you so much for this, I’m so grateful.”
After Tom and Tyler were done with their speeches and the four of them were off the stage, Harry couldn't wait much longer before he was crashing his lips to his girlfriend's again.
"I'm so happy you're here, so so happy."
"I'm always going to be here, love."

The Missing Co-writer
Synopsis: Harry doesn't feel to hide anymore
CW: Loads of fluff and sliver of a cute little drunkrry.
Series Masterlist | More of my work
Tumblr media
Guess what?!
YN got an offer to write along with one of the most genius and know artist of her generation. Harry couldn't be more proud of his fiance!
Well, she took up on the offer just because how much she loved writing music with her Harry. He won Album of the year, for the album they both wrote together. Kinda. But there many songs he wrote with her which his fans love so much. That's what he wants, his fans to enjoy what he makes.
When Jeffery told YN about this offer she contemplated it like every life decision she has to make. Harry on the other hand was just so stubborn on getting her to agree on this because one, she loved to do it the first time around, two, she's got a fucking degree in music, and three, she get paid for it, which she so deserves. She didn't get paid it the first time around, well, she didn't wanted to.
She was there with him at the Grammy's, though she insisted on staying away from the cameras. Harry respected her decision to do so.
They had a great night afterwards at the after party. He introduced YN to all of his closest friends in the industry, the ones he knows would respect his privacy and not talk about this publicly.
But today, he missed her like hell!
He was at the Brit awards. Nominated for four of the categories. But his love was away to work on this new project she seemed so excited for.
He doesn't want to hold her back so, when he told her he was having a great time preparing for the award show... he lied. Whilst she wouldn't be able to make it back home in time, he doesn't want her to be lost and feel guilty for anything. He's sure she'll be watching him on the TV anyway. At the end, he gets to have her all to himself and celebrate all over again for achivement he got for the work they did together.
He asked Gemma to go with him, lile he did last time and she did agree. They were having a good time but he still missed his YN there. All three times he mentioned people who helped him write this album so special to his heart, he contemplated on mentioning her name. Not because he doesn't feel like he should or anything of the stupid reason, just because he wants to keep her protected so badly!
YN already got enough hate, even though people don't know her name, who she is, what she does, what she is like in person. No one deserves that.
Yes, he did kissed Lewis Capaldi drunkenly but he knows YN will be laughing more when they're reunited by in three days.
With a drink in his hand and his phone in the other, he made a treck to the bathroom. He wanted to call her and talk to her. He needed to.
One ring...
Two ring...
Three...
"Hello Hazza!" Her happy voice chirped through the call.
"Hi, baby." Harry smiled with his phone held upto his ear. He could hear the award show playing in the background from her side.
"I am so proud of you, Harry. Three put of four, and you got to kiss Lewis!" She gasped in pure joy. "Not gonna lie, Niall is going to be real mad at you and it did made a tiny bit jealous."
That earned a giggle from him, "I'm sorry about that. I miss you so much, I wish you were here with me baby." His voice wavered as his eyes got teary. "We did this together. For the first time, this is happening to me and couldn't be more proud of us. I wanted to call you up and say how much I love you. I fucking love you so much, YN. Without you this wouldn't have been possible. Thank you for being my muse and my rock throughout these years. I'm gonna need this till my heart stops pumping inside me chest. I know how right of s decision I made by asking you to marry me. I want you to know how I appreciate you for everything you do, even though I don't mention you tonight in any of my speeches. I just want to protect you."
"I know you do love me Harry," YN sighed on the other side. He was sure she's crying too by now, "I know you appreciate me, and you exactly know why. They say 'don't meet your heros', but I'm so fucking glad I did! I wish I was there with you too. You don't have to mention me any of your speeches to tell me how you about us. I'd have it just between you and I."
"I just don't want you to feel left out, my love. Because you're not." Harry sniffled. "Also, I don't want to hide anymore. I want to be able to hold you close and not worry about being photographed, and, and want to kiss you wherever we are. Want to brag about how amazing my love is! I truly do. But I want to protect you, you already get enough slack for choosing to stay by my side."
"I know but we can't control it, can we now?" He could hear her sniffle on the other side, "I want you to do what you want to. Not going to hold you back, we can get through anything and everything together, right?"
"Mhmm." He nodded to himself. "I love you so much."
"I love you so much!" She reciprocated, "now tell me the truth, you're crying because you're drunk right?"
"Hey!" He whined just to hear her soft giggles from the other side, "you're a meanie!"
"No, I'm not!" She teased him, "stay safe Hazza, I'll be home day after tomorrow."
"Mhmm, I'd stay longer and talk to you hut Jeffery is calling me now." He shared. "Maybe I'll skip the party later."
"No, I want you go. Please Harry?" She requested, "I don't want to skip on anything because pf me. You already don't go out when you're home."
"Okay." He sounded. "I love you!"
"I love you more." She chuckled. It was like almost the tenth time he's saying that to her.
"This is not a compitition but," he slurred, "I love you more!"
"Okay, you win."
"See it wasn't that hard to agree, was it?"
"Hmm, I think you would be in trouble as Jeffery is texting me to ask you to get off the call they're about to announce Album of The Year." She shared.
"Fuck! I should go." He sighed.
"Mhmm, I'll see you soon."
"See you baby, be safe okay?"
"You too, Harry." He could hear her smile through the phone, "and no, I wasn't going to admit, it's a fact I love you more. Bye!" And the call went dead before he could argue.
......................................................................
"And the winner is..." Stanley Tucci opened the envelope to announce the winner, "Harry Styles."
Harry was ecstatic. Hugging Gemma and fist bumping everyone on his way to the stage.
"There is literally no one I love more in this world than Stanley Tucci. Thank you very much!" Harry chuckled as he looked at his award and pauses for a moment, "umm... This uhh... This night has been really special to me and I will never forget. Thank you so much for the welcome home. I appreciate so much there is no place like home. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I'm so so proud to be an British Artist out there in the world, I'm so proud to be here tonight celebrating British Artists, British Music. Thank you, thank you, I'm going to hand it to Tom and Tyler. Thank you so much for this. I'm so grateful, thank you!"
Harry glanced at his friends who are also his co-writer on the album. But one of them was missing and it was bugging him so much. He took in a deep breath.
"I want to thank my missus, who, who uhh... has been a great support. She wrote this album with us too. I couldn't be more in love with or grateful to a person than I am to you. Thank you, thank you so much for being my muse and my rock through all these years. And... I love you!" He flashed a sheepish smile and blew a little kiss to the crowd before he walked down the stage.
......................................................................
"Harry you did not!" YN exclaimed the first thing after she entered through the door of their flat, dropping her bags on the floor.
"Yes I— owh!" He grabbed onto her tight as she launched on him with a bear hug. "Yes I did baby!"
"You won all four of them!" She celebrated, "I am so fucking happy for you," she placed a smoothering kiss on his mouth, "you deserve every bit of happiness and success out there. I'm so, so, so, so proud of you!"
"Thank you, darling." He chuckled at her excitement as he hugged her again, "I thought you were going to kill me for saying I love you to you on TV!" He pulled away to get another deserving kiss.
In her own words; he deserved every happiness in this world!
"I would be mad if you didn't." She rolled her eyes.
"Did you..." he sighed, "just rolled your eyes at me, baby?"
"Oh come on, I am so proud of you Harry!" She clung onto him like a Koala bear again.
No, she's just that short in front of him.
"I missed you!" He picked her up and waddled his way to the sofas so they can sit and talk.
"I missed you!" She reciprocated. "When did you get home after the after-party?"
"At five in the morning the next day." He smiled sheepishly as he sat both of them down, YN straddling gis lap.
"Look at you!" She playfully punched his arm. "No but seriously Harry, I do think you hold back to go out and have fun with your friends like you used to. You don't have to stay back just because I have the most boring personality ever!"
"Who said you have a boring personality?" He scoffed, "I'd rather stay home with you and teach Milo new trick, make some new recipe and make a disaster of out kitchen or just watch TV, or, wait for it... this one is my favourite: have sex." That earned a laugh from her, "Than go out and drink, torture my kidneys and have a hangover for next three days."
"Okay." She nodded.
"You did not install twitter on your phone again, right?" He asked.
"Nope." She assured him. Because she didn't.
"Good because ee don't even want to go there." He took in a breathe of relief. "We still need to plan more for our wedding though, don't we?"
"Mhmm!" She nodded. "You sure you want to go for The Savoy than your villa in Italy, or better Anne's backyard garden that she offered for us to use?"
"What's wrong with the hotel?"
"Haz, it's very expensive!"
"So is going to be the villa." Was his only argument.
"Well, no, you own it. And it's less expense. You can even make that money back, by putting it on for rent. For maybe a month or so, I'm sure." She suggested.
"What's wrong?" He could just read through her, "you know you can share it with me, baby. Is something bugging you.
"I don't know," she sighed, "I want to be an equal part on this. I'm saving up for when we get our new place. And everything adding up gets very expensive. On my side at least."
"Mm." He sounded and took his time to think.
Look, he does want to be a part this whole planning thing. The only thing he doesn't want disrupted is their wedding. The hotel provides more privacy, he can have his team sign and agreement with them. His mum's backyard garden and the Italian villa can be invaded. In fact his pictures were taken ages ago with a drown in his private property.
"We'll split it." He answered, "I don't want our special day be ruined by people invading our privacy. The villa isn't that... How do I put this? Safe enough for our privacy. I don't want to force you nor do I want to make you feel less. Just chip however much you can or we'll figure something else, yeah?"
"Hmm, I'll think about it." She nodded.
Milo jumped up on the sofa spooking his mother and making his dad laugh, meowing for attention. Harry has been a amazing cat dad since day one!
"Hello my love!" YN cooed and picked the little feline up. He started purring immediately.
"He's very fucking partial!" Harry gasped looking at the kitty. "He never comes upto me like this."
That just made YN laugh.

INTERESTING… — one shot.
Tumblr media
pairing: harry styles x reader
MASTERLIST.
summary: emotions get in the way of award presenting.
warnings: kinda angsty?
NOTE: i just love petty 2000s drama… like the christina/eminent beef was great. obviously didn’t want this to be a copy paste, so i changed up the situations bit. hope you enjoy!!! (btw this is the edit that inspired me)
[ word count: 1,1k+ ]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You were usually pretty calm when it came to award shows, especially when presenting them. There was no pressure, no disappointments, and most of the time you got to meet a celebrity you wouldn't usually approach or give one to a friend.
You were now backstage, waiting for your name to be called on stage to present “Song Of The Year” for the BRIT Awards. Which felt like a full circle kind of moment since last year you had received the award, and now had the honour to give it to someone else. But there was one factor that made you slightly nervous; your ex boyfriend is a nominee.
Now, the chances of him winning were one in nine, but As It Was had already won a Grammy for the same category, so really, the odds were not in your favour. You wanted to believe the people at the BRITs wouldn't do that to you, or even your own manager, but luck didn't tend to bend to your will,
When you were finally called on stage, you grabbed the envelope containing who the winner was, and resisted the temptation to peek at it. You lightly grabbed the long fabric of your dress, not wanting to trip because of it, and made your way to the podium.
“Hello, BRITs!” You smiled at the audience, the microphone away from your face so that your laugh wasn’t audible, “Last year I was up here, not giving away, but receiving this award. It was a very happy moment for me, and I hope that it is too for whoever wins this award. This is Song Of The Year, here are the nominees!”
You turned your head to the big screen, as each nominee was displayed you couldn't help but silently hope in your head that Harry didn’t win. Not because he didn't deserve it, no, in fact he was probably the most worthy of the award. But because you couldn't bear that being your first interaction after months of no contact.
“And the BRIT award for Song Of The Year goes to…” You carefully held the mic so you could open the envelope.
The moment you saw who had won, a frown appeared on your brows, “Haha… Interesting…” Was what you had muttered under your breath, cursing in your head when you realised it had been picked up by the microphone.
You plastered the world’s most fakest smile, and through gritted teeth, shouted out the winner, “As It was, Harry Styles!”
You didn't even clap when you placed down the mic on the podium, leaving it for Harry to pick up and use. You held the envelope in front of your body, hands clasped on the award, as you waited for Harry to get on stage. You couldn't actually leave until after he received his award, but you wanted to put the most amount of distance between you.
Your grip tightened just a little bit more when you saw Harry walking up the stairs to the stage, your knuckles started to turn white, but you paid no mind to them. Seeing him so close, after so much time, stung more than it should have.
Your eyes connected, and it suddenly felt like a contest on who would look away first. You made no move to step forward, letting him come to you. When he finally reached you, you gave him his award like it had the plague on it. You knew it was petty, you knew you would get a scolding for acting this way, and you didn't give a shit.
For a second, you thought he was going for a kiss on the cheek. In fact, you would bet the thought had crossed his mind. But, as if reminding himself of who was standing before him, he didn't. You were thankful he did not because you didn't know how you would have reacted if he had.
“Hello! Um, this album and this song…” He had started his speech, but you tuned him out. You just wanted to get the hell out of there, ready for the mouthful you were about to give both your manager and whoever decided it was a great idea to have you present the award.
When he finally finished his speech, you almost bolted away from the stage. You sucked in harsh breaths, the cool facade you had tried maintaining, quickly dropped the moment you were backstage. You swore that his eyes drifted to you when he finished speaking, but your face was on some still spot where you could drift away.
You took your earpiece out with a little too much force, almost taking out your earring in the process too. You were ready to curse out someone when you heard your name being called out, by the one person you didn’t want to hear it from.
Your steps didn’t falter, ignoring the staff's stares, you made your way towards your team. You suddenly came to an abrupt stop when your arm was grabbed by Harry, who spun you around.
“Come on, Y/N, look at me.” You had to resist the urge to roll your eyes at his tone, his voice was so soft and sweet it almost made you want to hug him.
You lifted your eyes from the floor to him, immediately noticing the little smile on his lips. You mentally cursed yourself for even looking at his lips.
“What, Harry?” You bit out, watching his smile falter at the abrasiveness in your words.
“I… It was nice seeing you again.” He carefully said, as if weary of how you would react.
“Oh, was it?”
“I would’ve liked seeing you in another context, but, yes, it was.”
You stood in front of him silently for a few seconds, trying to come up with an answer. All that came were things you definitely couldn't say, and others that were too polite.
“Wish I could say the same.” Harry’s wince at your response was anything but satisfying, it only made the pit at the bottom of your stomach grow. You gulped down the knot in your throat and stepped out of his grip, watching as his hand awkwardly fell by his side.
“Look could we maybe—” His words were cut off by your hand in the air, shaking your head at him.
“Congrats on your award, Harry.” The moment you said those words you turned around and walked away. It was easier to ignore the problem than to face it, especially at an award show. Even when you felt his piercing gaze on your back, your feet continued moving along. It was easier said than done, but you hoped you didn't cross paths with Harry anytime soon.

love of my life
chapter four
time passed by quickly! before you knew it your eldest daughter was three and your youngest was two and a half. by that time you were on your third baby girl and harry second album was a success! he was still dealing with olivia, even though you knew he was about ready to tell his team to fuck off, he still did it to protect you and your girls.
you loved that harry would do anything to protect his family, even hiding your relationship and dating someone who clearly didn’t understand boundaries.
but you hated how stressed he was. you even offered to tell his fans about your relationship. harry knew you weren’t ready for the world to know about you and your family just yet. he continued to tell you that he could manage this.
and he did, for two more years after that. now, pregnant with twin girls this time, you thought it was time for you to let the world know who you are. harry was overwhelmed with his relationship with olivia and the pressure her team was putting on him for a proposal of some sort.
he wanted to be able to hold you and care for you, love you and kiss you, he wanted to be able to be your husband privately and publicly. and you wanted to be his wife just as much.
it’s why he knew exactly what he was gonna do. he didn’t let anyone, not even you, know his plan. currently he was home with his family. he had to prepare for the grammys! he was announcing his third album to the world tomorrow night.
harry’s stylist, and one of his best friends, had stopped by with plenty of outfits for him to try on.
your daughters all stared at their dad in awe. they still didn’t understand that their daddy was an international rockstar. but they loved watching him dress up.
“what do you think, babe? is it too flashy?” harry asked nervously.
“pwetty, daddy!” delilah states.
she was four now and had the height of her father. your mom swore she was gonna be over six foot tall by the time she reached eleven.
“you like it lilah?”
delilah nods her head, her youngest sibling leaning her head on top of her shoulder.
“what about you, princess? you like this outfit on daddy? or should i pick something else?”
maybelle was only five, but she was really into clothes and fashion the most. harry just knew she’d most likely be a supermodel or fashion designer when she got older.
“like this one, daddy. makes your eyes glow.” she points to the outfit.
harry hums. he grabs the outfit, runs to put it on, and comes back out.
“she’s right! you look fantastic, babe.” you state.
“i love it! and i might have to hire your daughter.” lloyd jokes.
“she’s our little fashion genius!”
harry picks up his eldest daughter as he kisses her cheek gently.
“daddy, going?” nova asked.
“not until tomorrow night. and ill be back home before you know it darling!” harry states.
“you’re still going with o?” lloyd knew how much olivia stressed harry out.
“um—yeah. i am.” he sighs. he didn’t really like discussing this around the kids, or around you. you tried to hide it but he knew you were upset by this dynamic! especially because it was only supposed to to last two years.
but he just couldn’t wait until the brits awards. that’s where his plan to tell the world about you and his family would play in action. tonight he just had to smile for the camera with olivia on his arms.
Tumblr media
you were currently sitting in bed watching the grammys. you allowed the kids to stay up late to watch their dad preform. you knew they’d be cranky tomorrow morning, but you would just suffer through it.
“look, there’s daddy again!” you point to the tv. they were announcing best pop solo performance. when they called his name you and the kids clapped.
“daddy won!” maybelle cheers.
the four of you watched as he gave his speech before going back stage. you knew he wasn’t gonna stay any longer.
“alright, bedtime. daddy should be here soon. ill make sure he comes to kiss you goodnight.”
“kay, mama.” you got the kids ready for bed. heading to your bedroom and getting ready to sleep as well. you heard the front door open.
smiling, knowing harry would kiss the kids goodnight before anything.
when you finally felt his arms around you, you sighed softly. “proud of you grammy award winner.”
harry chuckles. “can’t believe it.” your turned around, wrapping your arms around his neck. “i can, you’re a rockstar! it was only a matter of time.”
harry kissed you gently. “couldn’t have done it without you.”
“what are you on about?”
harry kisses your neck. “i mean, the song was inspired by you after all.” he smirks against your skin.
“you’re nasty.”
“i just wanna taste it. watermelon sugar, high.”
“stop!”
“can i get a taste now, misses styles?”
“you’re tipsy aren’t you? you’re always a little horny when you’re buzzed.”
“just a little, but can you blame me though? i have the hottest fucking wife ever! especially when you’re pregnant with our kids. love you so much.” he kisses you passionately.
you just giggle as he continues to love on you. “gotta be quiet.” you hummed.
“tell yourself that. you’re the one that’s loud.”
you giggle once more as he picks up and and gently plop your body on your bed.
Tumblr media
the next two weeks went by fast. harry had gone to england for the brits awards three nights ago. tonight was the night he would publicly announce to the world about his wife and his three, almost five, beautiful children.
he was nervous, yet excited. unfortunately olivas team pushed them to go to this award show together, despite harrys team thinking it’ll be best if he goes alone. but they couldn’t deny the attention they both got at the grammys. ultimately they agreed that it would be good press.
“you ready, babes?” olivia smiles.
harry refrained from rolling his eyes. he knew that this would embarrass her, big time! but he had to do this. for himself, for you, and for the kids. it was long overdue.
“lets get this over with.” harry sighs.
once they got to the red carpet, everyone cheered and yelled for them. harry kept his hands on the small of her back.
finally, when he was seated and the show went on, he enjoyed himself, drinking and laughing. when it was time to preform he did a fantastic job. he felt more confident and relaxed when he was home.
he loved preforming in the us, but nothing was like preforming in your own country!
when they announced his name for song of the year everyone whistled and cheered. harry got on stage and accepted his award.
“wow! this is a huge honor. id like to thank the fans for always being supportive and enjoying my music. id like to thank my mom for encouraging me to pursue my dream all those years ago. and most importantly id like to thank my wife, yn and our three beautiful daughters! thank you all. i love each and everyone of you.”
Tumblr media
you were stunned when you watched his speech. you didn’t know what to do or say. part of you was nervous.
this was a huge deal for you and your family. this meant the world knew about you. and even from the years before, when they found your instagram, you still get people trying to add you.
now that they knew you were more than just harrys friend, the amount of people requesting to follow you will triple.
another part of you was relieved. finally being able to be free and love your husband openly felt amazing. no more sneaking off, no more looking over your shoulders, no more paying paparazzi off, no more stress. that thought made you feel amazing.
your phone kept going off but you couldn’t care less about that. until you saw harrys name pop up.
“i can’t believe that just happened.”
“are you upset?”
“im—no. im actually relieved, harry. i can finally be open with you. i can finally shout to the world im your wife, and—you can finally tell the world you’re my husband. baby, this is the best gift you’ve given me. besides our kids of course.”
harry sighs in relief.
“how’s jeff handling things? i take it he didn’t know either considering you had to take liva with you.”
“yeah, he’s a bit pissed but he’s also kinda happy i finally spilled the beans. he just wished i would have told him. how are you and the twins?”
“when you said my name they kicked.”
“really?!”
“mhm! i think they’re proud of their daddy.”
“well it’s been a long time coming. you all deserve the world. no more hiding.”
“no more hiding.”

hi love can I request some angst with a happy ending. singer y/n and matty being official but y/n is having some trouble with her reputation lately (inspired by the whole taylor & kanye beef) so she tries to breakup with matty in order to protect him and not drag him anymore (saying he deserves better or something like that) so she booked a flight and goes back to her hometown but then our sweet lover boy matty chases her then one day he knocks at her door and they talk it out ;* I really need some angsty happy ending rn thank you my love!
A/N: Okay I loved this is I decided to turn it into a proper oneshot, thank you anon!! Fair warning: I'm not fully sure what happened between Taylor and Kanye but I know he accused her of not deserving an award so that's what I went with in this fic! Sorry if that wasn't what you meant!!
Warnings: angst, swearing, very sad shenanigans ensue
Reputation
"Y/n Y/l/n is currently in some hot water with pop music fans as she is accused of robbing other artists of Artist of the Year award. Y/l/n may have won multiple awards this year, but did she really deserve them?"
"Music sensation Y/n Y/l/n is a talented artist, fans agree, but it looks like her time in the industry could be limited as other artists express their upset at her recent win - could her rockstar boyfriend Matty Healy be the real reason for her success?"
"Brit award and Grammy holder Y/m Y/l/n slammed for her recent success this award season as she is called 'undeserving and untalented'. Her boyfriend, frontman of the global phenomenon The 1975, is yet to speak on the issue after being accused of helping her to acquire her fanbase."
You shut your laptop with a slam before you could delve any deeper into the comments being made about you online. You had been ecstatic with your recent win, and as Matty had also won an award the same night, you two felt invincible. That was until you began to be talked about negatively following your win, and you started to doubt how deserving of it you were. You started to believe what was being said about you online. That out of the hugely talented list of nominees, you were the least exciting. You started asking yourself if the only reason your fanbase had expanded was because of Matty. You wondered if you would lose fans in the event of a breakup.
It only took a few hours for the tabloids to bring Matty into the situation. They accused him of writing all your songs for you. Of course you had collaborated with him in the past, but you had credited him as a co-writer. The rest of your discography was your own. Matty was accused of begging Jamie to sign you at Dirty Hit, but of course you had been signed due to your musical talent and songwriting ability. In fact, you hadn't even known Matty before you were publicly represented by the label. Nevertheless, you could see you boyfriend beginning to be dragged down by the accusations made against you. You knew you couldn't let it happen. He had built such a successful music career for himself, and you couldn't be the reason he lost respect in the industry. It was going to hurt, but you knew what you had to do.
-----------------------
You had booked yourself on the first flight back to your hometown and told your parents you were coming to stay. Your stuff was packed up in boxes, ready to be transported back home, while your essentials were in a suitcase by the door. You sat anxiously on the sofa waiting for Matty to arrive home from the studio. When he did, you could hear him ranting from the second he opened the door. "Babe! Have you seen what those fuckers at The Sun have said now? This is bullshit!" He didn't get much further before spotting your suitcase. "What's this? What are you -" "Matty, I'm sorry?" "What are you talking about? Tell me what's going on!" "I never wanted you to be dragged into this. My reputation is ruined. It's only a matter of time before the label drops me." "That's bullshit babe, and you know it! Jamie loves you like family, he's gonna get you through this." Matty took your hand. "Please don't listen to what the press is saying, babe. You deserved those awards. And you have never lied about writing your own music. Now will you please tell me what's happening?" "I'm leaving, Matty. I'm going home." "That's ok baby, you just need a break. How long will you be gone?" You just shook your head at him, a tear falling down you face. You couldn't say it. "Darling, please, what are you saying?" "We need to break up, Matty. I need to protect you from this. You deserve so much more than me. More than the person who's ruining your image over a stupid fucking award."
Matty's face fell immediately. His eyes filled with tears and you could barely look at him knowing the hurt you had caused him. "I'm sorry," you whispered, and turned to leave. "No. Absolutely not." Matty caught you hand and pulled you to him. "You can't leave, not after everything we've been through. I love you. I need you." "I love you too, Matty. More than anything in the world. That's why I have to go. You love your music, and I can't let you be dragged down by my reputation anymore. We can't be together. We just can't."
--------------------------
As you lay in bed in your rented apartment near your hometown, your mind wandered to the look on Matty's face when you walked out on him three months earlier. He cried when you left, you could hear him sobbing behind you as you walked out the door. You had seen him cry before, but never like that, and it scared you. Maybe that's why you were so quick to leave. You didn't want to see the damage you had caused.
The comments online and the seemingly never-ending news articles had died down, of course. Not even a week later, some actor you had never heard of said something problematic and you were left alone. As for the public, they began to see sense and you had received hundred of comments on your social media saying things along the lines of "We support you Y/n!" or "We all know you deserve every bit of success." It was encouraging, but you felt you weren't ready to return to the studio yet. More than that, you weren't ready to return to the label and potentially face Matty.
It must have been one in the morning when you were awakened by frantic knocking on your door. Startled, you jumped out of bed and ran to the door. You opened the door a crack, and your breath caught in your throat when you saw who it was. Matty Healy, with his curls tousled by the wind, tearstains on his cheeks and a tiredness in his eyes you had only seen when he returned from a tour. He must have gotten off a flight and come straight to you. You swung the door open and he tensed up when he saw the worried look on your face.
"What the fuck are you doing here? Is everyone ok?" "Everyone's fine, darling. Except me." "What? What happened?" "You. You happened. I can't be alone anymore love, I just can't. I need you back home with me." "Matty, you know I can't do that." "And why the hell not? All that stuff with the press cleared up after you left me." "And what if it starts back up again? I can't let you be dragged down by me again." Matty took your face in his hands. "Listen to me darling, please. I simply can't be away from you any longer. I have never loved someone like I love you. I don't care what those fuckers on the internet have to say about me. I would have my reputation ruined a thousand times for you. I would do anything for you, I would die for you. You know that. So why won't you come home and be with me?"
You couldn't stay away from him for a moment longer either. You threw yourself into his arms and started to cry into his chest, his fingers running through your hair to soothe you. He was whispering between pressing kisses to your head. You couldn't hear what he was saying, but it was comforting. Matty picked you up with ease and you threw your legs around his waist, still crying. He shut the door behind him and walked you over to the sofa, where he stayed with you, holding you tightly in his arms until you had calmed down. "There, angel. You're ok." "I'm sorry, Matty. I didn't know I had upset you so much." "Of course you did, babe. How could you ever think I would be better off without you?" You almost started crying again, overcome with guilt, but Matty took you in his arms again. "Don't cry, sweet girl. It's ok, I'm not upset anymore. But I don't give a shit about what's being said about me online, as long as I have my best girl with me." He wiped away your tears and pressed a sweet kiss to your lips, the first in months. "I wanted to go back, I really did," you assured Matty. "But I thought you would have forgotten about me and moved on. And I definitely thought you stopped loving me." Matty's heart sank at your small voice and he mentally kicked himself for not calling you more times after you moved away. He kissed your cheek reassuringly and brushed your hair behind your ear, before pulling your closer and speaking in a low tone into your ear.
"I could never forget you, angel. And I have never stopped loving you."

Louis Tomlinson is sequestered in the executive boardroom of a swanky hotel in suburban London, and is treating it the way a pupil might a classroom when the teacher’s popped out. He’s leaning back on his chair, feet up on a radiator, hands clasped behind his head and a cigarette on the go. “All right?” he says, grinning impishly.
Despite huge global success with One Direction (70 million albums sold), which prompted a fanaticism that made Beatlemania look tame, he seems remarkably unaffected and far more normal than one might expect from someone with 35.8 million Twitter followers. He’s a 31-year-old so unassumingly bloke-next-door that the bloke next door wouldn’t look twice.
“I’ve always had a problem with ‘ego’,” he says, “and I’ve always been worried about being one of those people in the public eye who just loses all sense of reality, and becomes an arsehole.” As if by way of explanation, he adds: “I’m from Doncaster.”
And so while his former 1D bandmate Harry Styles, a superstar, floats through life like the fashion world’s favourite clothes horse, Tomlinson kits himself out in JD Sports: Kappa T-shirt, black sweatpants, Adidas socks, scuffed trainers. When he tells you he often frequents his local pub unmolested, you believe him.
“If someone does come up after an hour to ask for a selfie, I won’t say no and I won’t run away,” he says, “’specially if I’m three pints deep!”
Of the five members of 1D, Tomlinson has had the slowest start to a solo career. There are compelling reasons for this — family tragedy for one — but he’s also had to figure out who he is without the band around him. “With this job,” he says, “there’s so much room for overthinking, you know? Someone from the record label will tell you they like your stuff, but you find yourself thinking: yeah, but do they? It’s the fans that help you really believe in yourself.”
In the band, Zayn Malik had the best voice and Styles had the best everything else. While the other three — Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Niall Horan — were hardly driftwood, each has nevertheless had to dig deep to carve out a solo persona that would compel beyond the bubble.
“I do miss the boys,” he says, “and I do definitely miss being one of the five, but I like doing my own thing too. It was time.”
It’s a bright winter’s day, and the man in sports casual is enjoying special dispensation here in the hotel: permission to light up. Had this been denied, there might well have been a problem, for Tomlinson chain-smokes with the wild abandon of Mad Men’s Don Draper.
After the release of his second solo album, Faith in the Future, in November, he adds another necessary notch in the belt of any self-respecting pop star next month: the documentary. All of Those Voices is a routine behind-the-scenes look at 21st-century celebrity but stands out for the multiple crises of confidence Tomlinson feels any time he’s not on stage.
“This is a confidence game for anyone,” he says earnestly, “and there’s been plenty of moments of vulnerability throughout the entire process.” An overriding concern of the documentary is not just whether people would be interested in him, but whether they’d take him, someone discovered on a TV talent show, seriously.
When Styles won his Grammy awards this month — he collected two and won four Brits — he used his acceptance speech to say that “this doesn’t happen to people like me very often”. This was swiftly ridiculed across social media because of course white men tend to win quite a lot. But what he likely meant was that it doesn’t happen to the product of manufactured boy bands, many of whom have the use-by date of a pint of milk.
“Only Harry knows what he means there, it’s hard to speculate,” Tomlinson says, “but we all came from relatively humble beginnings, and now we are where we are.”
But while Styles is a once-in-a-generation talent and knows it, his erstwhile bandmates — and this one in particular — need convincing.
Louis Tomlinson comes from a big family — his mother, Johannah Deakin, married twice and had seven children — and was a hopeful child actor before in 2010 auditioning for The X Factor. This is where 1D were created, “masterminded” by Louis Walsh. Deakin, who had Tomlinson when she was 19, was his biggest fan and they’d always been close. When, for example, Tomlinson lost his virginity, it was she he told first, not his friends.
In 2016, a year after One Direction split, she died from leukaemia, aged 42. Two years later, his 18-year-old sister, Félicité, who’d been struggling to get over her mother’s death, accidentally overdosed on cocaine, painkillers and an anxiety drug. The combined loss hit him hard. Aside from the single he wrote about his mother’s passing, 2020’s Two of Us, his mourning has been largely private.
He squints through a veil of cigarette smoke. “Some of the things that have happened recently have been quite drastic, yeah, but then so much in my life seems to have been pretty extreme, one way or the other.” In 2016, at the age of 25, a brief relationship with a Californian stylist, Briana Jungwirth, resulted in a son. “There’ve been challenging times, definitely. It’s funny, but I couldn’t even tell you how many years ago my mum passed, I just blank it out. But for the first 18 months, I’d take any form of bad luck personally. I’d feel every tiny thing. But now I genuinely feel I’ve come out the other side. I feel more empathy for everything and everyone these days.”
After his 2020 debut album, Walls, failed to set the world alight, Tomlinson called time on his relationship with Simon Cowell. “It was mostly amicable,” he says, nodding. “Simon always had my best interests at heart, and I liked him. He had his faults of course, like all of us, but it was always inevitable I’d have to go off and do my own thing.”
His new record, then, was a leap into the unknown and he elected to write not with professional songwriters but rather fellow creative artists: Theo Hutchcraft from the band Hurts, Joe Cross from the Courteeners and the singer-songwriter James Vincent McMorrow. “And that was a big difference, huge. These are people who live and breathe music. It’s the first time I felt really comfortable doing my own stuff, you know?”
Previously he’d been encouraged to sing like a nice young pop star should, without regional inflection. “When I was in the band,” he says, “working with professional songwriters whose entire aim was to write the hit single, they’d tell me that singing in my natural accent wasn’t commercial. Sorry, but what a shit idea! Who wants to sound like everybody else? I dumbed down a little bit in the band, because you do, but I’ve learnt who I am now.”
The album, which has its inspiration firmly in early Noughties indie, sounds more Kaiser Chiefs than One Direction. A risk, then. But when it came out, it debuted at No 1. While this did wonders for his confidence, it’s clear from the documentary that he still needs people — a support group — around him. He actively courts the friendship of his touring band, not necessarily a given among solo pop stars, and he seems almost always sociable. It’s when he’s not up for group activity that people worry. There’s a revealing moment in the documentary of him having just appeared on James Corden’s US talk show. Backstage Corden, an old friend, pleads with him not to go quiet on him afterwards. “You vanish, you change your number, no one knows [where you are],” he says.
Until recently Tomlinson lived in London with his long-term girlfriend, the model Eleanor Calder, but recent reports suggest they’ve split up and he’s dating another model, Sofie Nyvang. Life, clearly, is complicated. Perhaps that’s why he smokes so much. He says, though, that he feels finally relieved of the myriad pressures that once clung to being a pop star whose fanbase was predominantly teenage. Such as?
“Well, being a role model for one. I never wanted that. I always had to worry whether it was OK if, say, I was seen here or if I could get away with smoking a joint there, before concluding: hmm, probably not. But I never wanted to be the perfect pop star, especially in the climate of Instagram. I don’t want to put an artificial world out there. I think it’s important that people see your scars, your flaws.”
It’s never easy growing up in public and Tomlinson had no choice. “When One Direction split up,” he says, “I was mortified, I was absolutely gutted. I was a bit bitter, I suppose because it just felt like another loss to me. But I’ve a better understanding of things now, and there’s not as much anger. It is what it is.
“Getting back together at some point is hard to imagine right now,” he continues, “but I’d be surprised if we lived out our lives and didn’t have a moment where we had a reunion, or whatever you want to call it. I’d be up for that.”
When I ask what it’s like watching Styles’s ascendance into the biggest star of his generation — something that might delay such a reunion — he blows out a long plume of smoke.
“Well, it’s not a surprise is it? We were always aware that Harry fit that mould, and it’s been an amazing thing to watch. Envy? At the start maybe, when I was trying to find my feet, but it’s never healthy to cross-reference your own success with others is it? These days I’m learning to elevate myself in those moments when I have to. I didn’t know how to do that before, but now? Now I know I f***ing can.” All of Those Voices is in cinemas from March 22,  allofthosevoices.com

Since you're losing me was written and recorded in Dec 2021, does that change who you think it is about / timeline on the different things?
Thanks anon, I hadn't seen the detail on December 2021. Jack's Story added below - thanks @leftamarkonme She might have shared it now so people stop being trauma-core about her Eras performances saying she was crying when she wasn't.
To be honest, if You're Losing me was written in 2021 would not surprise me or change how I view it. He wasn't at the All to Well SNL launch but I thought it was too cynical to say it was over 18 months before the announcement, even if I thought it. Because I think Glitch was written after the Brits in May 2021.
Also, they were seen looking frosty AF at a 2022 Oscars Party and 2022 VMA after party. Maybe she wrote it and they continued to try to make it work for another couple of months to May. Or maybe it was over and they had agreed engagements to give themselves some privacy while they recovered before it went public. I actually hope it is the later because I think making space herself is fantastic.
This is the timeline I had with midnights post:
2020
25 November - In the Long Pond Session Taylor said Joe was William Bowery
16 December - Taylor said to Zane Lowe that Happiness is about ending a long term relationship, she switched to first person
2021
15 March - Grammy's Joe had never come & it was COVID limited, but he won a Grammy for *Album of the year* & I'd say she has the pull for a ticket for a producer of it
April - Folklore credits update to add Joe as producer on 6 songs, including 3 William Bowery wrote, Grammy eligible. No credits for midnights and evermore.
12 May - Taylor was honored with a Global Icon award at the Brits. Harry also there and won. Joe left to film in Belfast the week before
21 August - Joe actually seen with Taylor
14 September - Taylor seen in ireland, seen at conversations with friends cast party
14 November - Blake, Ryan, Sophie & Selena join Taylor at the SNL All to Well launch party. Joe A was filming in Panama.
5 December - You're Losing me written here
2022
27 March - They went to the Vanity Fair Oscars pre-party, but Taylor skipped the 2022 Grammy's, Brit Awards and Oscars. It's interesting that the only photos of Taylor are of getting out of the car with Joe squinting, they bypassed the press line.
Taylor stopped liking Joes IG posts here
18 May - Taylor receives an honorary doctorate from NYU, while not a party it is a massive deal. In her speech she smiled at a particular part of the audience when she referenced friends and family, but Joe was at a Rising Hollywood party in LA.
31 August - VMAs afterparty - Joe & Taylor's unglamourous run to a car. The VMAs have been important to Taylor since 2009. She was on the cusp of winning the most VMAs ever, announced Midnights and All to Well won. I wonder if Midnights was already done though.
20 October - Midnights pap walk where Joe uses a coffee table book to shield his hand from being held.
2023
9 February - Grammy afterparty- she wore his jacket, the huge deal made out of this is enough to say it was already over.
31 March - The 1 replaces Invisible String.
8 April - break up announced said it occured 'weeks earlier'

I just wanted to add that Louis hasn’t shown any support to Harry publicly either. I mean, he won a Grammy and Liam and Niall congratulated him publicly, and even though Louis was seen at one of the off-Grammy after parties that night, there was zero acknowledgment of the fact that anything happened.
I think it’s fairly clear they’re both still under very strict instructions not to publicly interact, and I really don’t think that has anything to do with how they feel about each other. Among other things, I really believe things have shifted in terms of how they’ve decided to protect their relationship.
Well, Louis has actually spoken about and congratulated Harry a number of times over the years. He spoke about Dunkirk. He spoke about Harry’s success, in general. He followed him on Instagram. He wished him a happy birthday on Twitter (once). So, while I agree that is silence over the Grammys/Brit awards sticks out like a sore thumb, I also agree with the rest of your message: they do both seem quite restricted in how they’re able to communicate publicly, and as you say, I doubt it has anything to do with how they actually feel about each other.

Can you do a T one where you’re a famous singer and actress who’s won many accolades (Grammys and Oscars) and you’re moving in with him so he makes a room for all of your hundreds of awards and he takes a pic of them with a caption for his instagram feed: they’re mine now @yn” you guys are private with your relationship so it’s basically a confirmations and all of his teammates comment funny stuff under it. x
You have never been the one to brag about your accolades and you never really put them out on display around your house. That was something that surprised Trent, you said that you put them out for about a year of winning them and then they go away. When he came round you had two Oscars out and a Grammy, claiming ‘I don’t want to look like I am in love with myself’. So when you and Trent were going to living together he made a room filled with everything you have one. Going from Brit Awards, to BBC Radio 1s, to Grammy’s and Oscars. He put them up with photos of you from that night and got help from your manager, who has always been telling you to do this. He posts a photo with the caption ‘they’re all mine now @YN’. His teammates all commenting under the posts. Ox writing ‘Not just a top baller but a top singer and actor🤑’. Virgil commenting ‘I’ve heard you sing, definitely don’t deserve them’. Chilly came through with ‘Big fan of yours Trent’. Hendo with ‘Looks like a shrine by an obsessed fan’

We have spoken about it lots of times before but is it even really an achievement for Harry if he puts out a song and it is a hit. No matter how bad the song is, no matter how bad his album is, it’s going to be a hit. It will be played a million times on radio and will be on top of any playlist imaginable. Not because it’s good, only because it’s released by Sony Columbia under his name. His last album was so bad that his own fans were calling it a spoof album when it was leaked. That it couldn’t be the real album he was putting out. Then when it became official it was treated as Jesus’ second coming.
Yes, Louis has to swim against the tide but at least that will keep him motivated to put out music he really feels like creating, that he really feels like putting out. He doesn’t atleast have to sing songs about women’s vaginas while also pretending to be gay in front of a brain dead audience.
Louis has this freedom, which he’s talked about at concerts. His audience allows him the breadth of exploration and experimentation to keep his musical mind sharp, and to keep making music that both he and fans will like. He’s a musician making music, not the latest trend wagging the “musician” as we so often hear on the radio.
The other day I heard a song from Harry’s House for the first time (something cinema), and tbh I didn’t recognize that it was Harry until almost the end of the song. On first listen, it wasn’t bad or good. The song was like any background music that someone uses to promote an IG reel or TikTok makeup tutorial: a generic, inoffensive copy of an idea someone had decades ago, with a hook that repeats ad nauseum.
To be fair, pop music isn’t the Mona Lisa and most of it is generic and derivative. Art is hard. Originality is hard. Beauty is subjective and almost impossible to do commercially.
The Grammy has become an award given by industry to reward its pet projects. The votes are meaningless. There is no integrity. The same goes for the Brits, MTV EMA, and every major music award.
Still, there is a difference between a musician whose primary focus is music, and someone who is simply a celebrity. People might gossip about the Beatles fallout, but there is never any question that the Beatles signature will always be music-> not nail polish, not costumes, not romances, not perfumes.
Taylor Swift is a mega-celebrity, but decades later, she will be known for her songs and her discography.
Elvis and Michael Jackson are modern pop culture myths, but they are remembered for their songs and performances.
No one cares that Beyoncé has never won AOTY. She has made her mark in music history. These milestones have become so corrupted that they became meaningless.
The reason is because music still has meaning for ordinary people. Heartbreak, compassion, grief, and solace are, and always will be, part of the human experience.
Louis isn’t there yet in terms of establishing his discography, but he has a good chance and he’s on the right path. Of course there are no guarantees that his future work will be good, but a promising sign is that Walls was already better than anything from 1D, and FITF was a huge leap ahead still. The best songs came from not mimicking a specific genre or artist but creating something new — Copy Of A Copy Of A Copy or Written All Over Your Face would be prime examples.

Harry Styles’ As It Was has been revealed as the winner of IFPI’s Global Single Award 2022.
IFPI, which represents the global record industry, presents the award to the biggest-selling single across all digital formats, comprising paid and ad-funded streams and downloads.
This marks the first time Styles, who has also enjoyed recent success at The BRITs and The Grammys, has won the IFPI award as a solo artist. Ten years ago, One Direction topped the inaugural IFPI Global Recording Artist Chart and the IFPI Global Album Chart.
IFPI chief executive Frances Moore said: “Congratulations to Harry Styles, and all of his team, on winning IFPI’s Global Single of the Year Award. Harry first received an IFPI Award as part of One Direction when we first launched the IFPI Global Recording Artist Chart 10 years ago, so it’s an honour to present him with an award this year for his stellar single As It Was which has soundtracked the year for so many music fans around the world.”
As It Was has 1,729,679 sales in the UK, according to the Official Charts Company. It is now the singer’s second biggest UK hit, behind Watermelon Sugar which has 2,133,817 sales. As It Was’ parent album Harry’s House also hit No.1 and has 502,156 UK sales to date.

Last year, As It Was co-writer Tyler Johnson told the story of how the song was made in a Hitmakers interview with Music Week.
“It’s got such a mellowness to it and it doesn’t really go for any big moments,” Johnson said. “Harry had the vision for it to be the lead single [from Harry’s House]. I’m very impressed at how he saw that it was what his audience wanted, and also people in general – it’s not just his fans who have taken to the song. When it came out on Spotify and I pressed play I got a good feeling in my stomach like, ‘I like that people are hearing this song.’”
“Harry was sitting on the Moog One and I liked what he was playing, so I sat down and played as he started to write the melodies and the lyrics,” Johnson added. “I said to Harry, ‘We need a lead line’ and he just came up right away with the ‘Dah, dah, dah...’ part. He didn’t hesitate. Then he started writing the second verse and referring to himself in the third person. So much of this song just came from Harry’s heart.”
Sophie Jones, the BPI’s chief strategy officer & interim CEO has also offered congratulations to Styles.
“It’s great to see UK artists do so well in the IFPI global charts, particularly dominating the songs of 2022, with Harry Styles and Glass Animals at No.1 and No.2 and nearly half the top 20 claimed by UK talent,” Jones said. “Our congratulations to Harry Styles for featuring so strongly in the global charts and to all UK artists and their labels for an excellent performance last year.”
Styles is joined by Glass Animals, Elton John & Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran and Adele in the Top 20. The list also features four songs performed in Spanish, with Bad Bunny appearing twice alongside Farruko and Karol G.
Kate Bush’s Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God) also features following its revival after a sync in Stranger Things.

https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/louis-tomlinson-when-one-direction-split-i-was-mortified-it-felt-like-another-loss-mtlh2wgv2
Louis Tomlinson is leaning back on his chair, feet up on a radiator, hands clasped behind his head and a cigarette on the go.
Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Zian Malik, Liam Payne and Niall Horan, 2011
The former bandmates at the BRIT Awards 2012

● Louis Tomlinson review — screaming singalongs
● Meet Harry Styles’s inner circle
Such as?
Louis and his mother Johannah, 2015
DAVE J HOGAN/GETTY IMAGES
Now I know I f***ing can.”
All of Those Voices is in cinemas from March 22, allofthosevoices.com

Sea is raging over this interview because the Times journalist praises Harry too much and keeps mentioning Louis' rabid chainsmoking!

TTPD Notes - The Anthology
TTPD Notes Glossary
“imgonnagetyouback”
Not sure of the timing on this one
But you know who rides motorcycles? Harry. Not Matty.
Also, this song gives me major Grammy Feb. 2023 vibes. God, what a night that was. ::stares wistfully into the middle distance::
Also, I just think it’s funny to make yet another joke about him wrecking a vehicle. lol.
"The Albatross"
Definitely written pre Eras Tour
To meeee this one smacks of the Olivia Wilde scandal and Taylor being the first one to jump up and clap for Harry when people started shouting Beyoncé should have won the Album of the Year Grammy instead of him.
Interesting that whole thing ended up hitting Olivia way harder than Harry, if it even hit him at all; I'd argue it did not. Fucking sucks to be a woman. (“Life was always easier on you than it was on me.”)
"Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus"
I believe we’ll learn someday this what written pre-Eras Tour
The hologram with the multiple people running fingers through the persons hair reminded me of the music video for “Lights Up.”
I was immediately reminded of “Exile” at the line “you saw my bones out with somebody new (Calvin Harris at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards) who seemed like he would’ve bullied you in school/and you just watched it happened.”
Side note: I love the play on words with “you saw my bones out” as in the action of watching versus the action of sawing. Genius.
Also, is she talking about herself as bones because she was at the height of her eating disorder then? :/
Also also, this song gave me a tummy ache. I need hospitalization after this album.
“I Look in People’s Windows”
I think this was recorded pre-Eras Tour.
I adore this song; I just wish it was three times as long
I don’t think it’s Peter’s perspective, as some have theorized. I think it’s Taylor’s.
I do think this is a strong contender for a pining Haylor tune. They shared a city for a long time.
“The Alchemy”
Clearly about Matty, not Travis. Once again, I feel like everyone has lost their minds and ability to comprehend words. The football references are just metaphors, coincidental in hindsight. She’s talks about someone, likely Jack, referring to Matty seeing her like heroin, but this time with an E, like a heroine (get it?). And she talks about getting together with someone from her past. Not meeting someone new. “What if I told you I’m back?…I haven’t come around in so long? I’m coming back so strong.” Anyway, only on my list, because it supports my Harry theorizing, in that she talks about blokes, as in multiple British men, and cutting amateurs. Plural Brits that she’s cut ties with before going after Matty. As in Joe and Harry.
"Peter"
I think this was also written pre-Eras Tour, probably pre-Joe break up, too
A call back to “Peter losing Wendy” in “Cardigan”
Also reminds me of the pining in “Ivy” (“The old widow goes to the stone every day. But I don’t. I just sit here and wait, grieving for the living.”)
Ongoing references to the moon and space between these two...“We both did the best we could/underneath the same moon/in different galaxies”
Makes me want to die
"Robin"
Another pre-Eras tour track, I’d wager
I think this is also about the muse of Peter Pan. I have seen people say it's about Robin Williams or a child/Aaron Dessner's kid, but she put it on her Apple Music "Denial" playlist. Also, the "slow ticking clock on a string," like the one Peter Pan uses to bait the crocodile? I think it's just another song about how Harry won't grow up but their group of friends all love him and coddle him anyway. Now, to me, that makes sense on the denial playlist.
Interesting that this song and "Fresh Out the Slammer" both talk about swing sets.
Also, the trampoline reference reminded me of Harry's line from "Little Freak," "golf swing and a trampoline, maybe we'll do this again."
