I'm re-reading Pratchett's Wyrd Sisters for book club, and there should really be a truly epic saga about The Friendship Of Gytha and Esme, Young Witches Who Absolutely Shouldn't Get Along But Do, Shockingly (Even If Sometimes There are Minor Natural Disasters Because There Has Been A Row)

This song is making me want to start yet another fic to never finish,, "Tell me... Where is your hideout? Who are we running from? I'm starting to think that you were right, and now I'm afraid of letting go of your hand...." Maul giving up on his Mandalore plan and deciding to just stalk Kenobi to tell him about his vision. Staying illegally in Obi-Wan's room because I love putting these guys in situations (and because Maul would NOT leave him alone until Obi-Wan actually accepted Maul is right, which he won't). Following Obi-Wan to Utapau and helping him escape after the clones attack, feeling equal parts vindicated and enraged (because he was proved right but Sidious still won). Them being on the run together....

I just watched stranizza d'amuri (fireworks, 2023), it's the story of two boys who fell in love during the summer of 1982 in Sicily. It's inspired by a real story and they don't get a happy ending.
I don't think I've ever had such a visceral reaction to a movie or at least in a long long time. Maybe is just because im sicilian and i just felt a deep connection to the ambiance and the "culture", but it felt as if Sicily and the slice of spacetime the movie takes place in were characters themselves, maybe even more than the actual characters.
It's so sweet and tender, and visually stunning, just like this island can be, but also so full of contradictions and ugliness, and its both represented in the land and in the people. I loved the movie and I recommend it, if you want to watch something beautiful, tender and very sad.

dear diary i had a marvelous birthday roadtrip wherein i
had a terrible sinus infection
drove eight hours then waited for a boat for four then saw my best friend’s new place for the first time four hours after that and immediately fell asleep in her bed
hiked for three days (trees trees trees) and swam in a glacial lake
sauna’d
got surprised by a delicious cake while topless (see above)
identified a DOZEN plants for the first time from the trip (and ate so many berries)
bought a great deal of pottery and a nice linen dress
surprised family with a visit <3
saw juvenile barn swallows (v silly beaks)
had old silverware fobbed off on me and decoded the makers marks to learn i have 208-year-old teaspoons! thanks ancestors
drove 1735 kms
got to come back and see home with the fresh peepers you only get when you’ve gone away for a little bit

Btw the main reason I love studying what I'm studying is that music is like one of the main things that can connect people universally. You can portray SO MUCH through music regardless of anything, and it's one of those things that's meant to be shared and appreciated and loved. It's just, man I love music and I love people and I love being able to share

I'm serious, I think at least half of the reason why I made sure Richie got Rory's hair and Logan's eyes was just to spite Richard and Emily, haha.

i need to do my homework but ANYWAYS not to talk about the star trek reboot movies on main again but i’m starting to realize that maybe the star trek reboot movies give me a lot of hope now that i’m in my twenties, because whether accidentally or not, there’s something really weirdly reassuring about seeing the enterprise crew in their youth, messy and still figuring things out, and yet still winding up exactly where they need to be. like, when we meet jim, he’s impulsive and impatient and flat-out bored with his own life, so he winds up picking fights and telling himself that yeah, fine, being the smartest guy in the midwest is good enough for him, until he’s told that it’s not--and even when he joins starfleet, he winds up getting on academic suspension and breaks a million codes along the way. then we’ve got bones, who we find fresh after his divorce. the guy is fucking day drinking at 0800. and then we’ve got spock, who’s so clearly angry and resentful of something, maybe a little bit of everything, but that’s what you get as being a mixed-race kid-slash-minority kid i guess (phew). then we’ve got chekov, who’s like. a literal 17 year old. (a seventeen year old. my baby brother is currently seventeen years old. i would have a heart attack if he told me he’s heading up to space now.) then we’ve got sulu, who literally reaches the bridge because some guy was conveniently sick, so he had to fill in. he messes up literally in the first two seconds. then we’ve got scotty, who’s out in the buttfuck middle of nowhere, with no live organism except for keenser and the scary creepy-crawlies outside. uhura might be the only one who has her shit together, but also. she is dating her former professor. which, you know, seeing that former professor is spock, whatever, go off girlie and etc.
my point is that star trek: 2009, as flawed and as messy as it is, still accidentally becomes really fucking good when you realize that this movie is about the enterprise crew when they’re in their youth, and also when they’re coming together even after a total shift in their timeline. so what’s rather lovely about the reboot movies is that not only do they accidentally say that no matter the timeline, you’ll wind up with the people who you were meant to be with, but also. no matter the timeline and no matter how many fucking problems you have-slash-had, you will still wind up precisely where you need to be, with the people who you were always meant to love, and maybe that’s a little bit of comfort in this weird time that we’re living in

Now and Then
I wish I was there at Ye Cracke, the Cavern, the Grapes, or the Jacaranda to celebrate this new offering! I mean, isn't it exciting to hum and sing a beautiful new Beatle tune in 2023!?! Well I think it is!
What do you think? Do you like it? Have any good Beatle stories to tell? If so, please share in the comments, thanks.

"Oh, her curves are like traveling down a winding road with nothing but the moon to keep me company.. every night I breeze a path down her body, a trail of sorts.. with lips dripping from her flesh on a path from her neck to her depths. Every breath drizzles from my lips onto her skin, heart beating softly, never retreating as I fiend for her awfully.. she is a need, my desire can't be satiated by mortal hands.. a goddess she is, and to be loved she demands."
Mortal hands could never touch a goddess, but these lips.. oh these lips were crafted by the gods - eUë
