Gift for @moonagedaydreamssss ! This is their TOH x Amphibia AU. Design is not accurate.
Marcy <3, I just really wanted to draw owl house Marcy. Okay so the clothes are based off of Marcy earlier development designs, cause it was either that or her pjs. I added the scars on her elbow because as once a clumsily person I always scrapped my elbows and knees. I also added Joe Sparrows staff color, which is the same color as the wooden seat on him in Amphibia. ANYWAYS MARCY <3!

fort stories (in case you want to read the ‘first part’)
Micheal was turning thirteen and neither one of you could believe that your baby boy was about to become a teenager. Not long ago did it feel like Micheal would run around the backyard in his diaper, or when Matt would read a nightly bedtime story. It was all these tiny things that made it hard for you both to accept he was growing up. You were excited for the next step in your parental relationship, but you couldn’t but miss the way he’d fit so snuggly in your arms. Matt was also sad that his boy was growing up, but he was also excited for the next step, excited to develop a deeper connection with Mike.
You originally suggested a quaint backyard barbecue with all of your close loved ones; Maggie, Foggy, Marci and their twin girls. As well as Karen, Frank and their baby boy Ben. You and Matt wanted to share this special time with the people that meant the most, but that being said, it was Micheal’s birthday so you gave him his chance to choose. He had picked a quiet and fun day with his dad, at first you were a little upset but Micheal has always been a daddy’s boy so it wasn’t exactly a shock. Matt tried to persuade him to invite you, but he already had his mind set, just like his father.
To Matt’s displeasure, Michael has recently had a thing for another masked vigilante of New York, who just so happens to be Spider-Man. So you spent the day baking and decorating his birthday cake, working meticulously to get his webbed face mask as neat as possible while Matt played football with Micheal in the backyard. Tackling each other and laughing away.
They had already spent the better half of the day playing video games, using his birthday gifts and eating shitty pizza, so by now, they had plenty of energy to burn off.
You called Matt aside so you could both bring out the cake, singing happy birthday as you walked over to your smiling son sitting at the dining table. You two placed the red-masked face down in front of Micheal which immediately widened his grin. “Mom? Spider-Man?” He excitedly exclaimed, staring at the details.
“Spider-Man? Really?” Matt turns to face you, visibly displeased. Tone flat as he hid a smile. “I’m offended.”
“Don’t worry, I prefer Daredevil.” You grin, hugging his side. Turning to face Michael, your facial expressions are playful as you shake your head. Whispering. “Spider-Man is way cooler.”
“Hm.” Matt jokingly frowns, turning his attention to Micheal. “Make your wish buddy.”
After Micheal blows out his candles, you and Matt grin and clap, cheering him along. “What’d you wish for?” You ask.
“I can’t tell you, mom… it won’t come true.” He says matter of factly, looking at you as though you had just said the most inexcusable thing.
“Yeah, mom.” Matt adds, playfully mocking as he nudged Michael.
Eyes squinted as you jokingly glared at them both. “Oh, I see how it is… no cake for you guys.”
A few more hours went by and it was now bedtime. You and your boys spent the rest of the evening playing games and video-calling family to thank them for their gifts. Micheal was ready for bed, laying snug under the covers, clearly exhausted from his busy day. He pokes his head up just before you two leave his room. “Hey mom, dad?”
“Yeah, sweetheart?” You softly question, turning around to face him.
“Can you read me a story?”

The first couple weeks back in her old world were odd for Jess and it wasn’t just because she had gotten used to spending her days wandering the halls of Graceland but because people actually seemed to notice her now. They didn’t say anything of course [though she figured that was because the last time they had seen her they’d watched Jerry nearly knock someone’s head off for talking to her] but there were definitely more stares. And as a girl who’d kept to herself the majority of her school career that feeling felt odd.
Her only saving grace seemed to be that her friends, though few, remained as normal as they had been. Naturally they understood what a big deal it was and though they were a little hurt about being lied to overall they supported her. She supposed it helped that Elvis’ popularity amongst the youth had dwindled a little because if it hadn’t she didn’t know how she would’ve fared. Going back to her old life was one thing, going back and having everyone treat you differently was another.
And going back to her old life had been hard in itself.
It hadn’t been as bad with Jerry around but once he’d gone home it felt more as though she was in the life she had been living last year, the one where he didn’t know she existed. He had been trying so hard though. They had spoken almost every day on the phone, sometimes even practicing the guitar together though they were miles apart. Still, it was hard. Especially when she could hear how much he was missing her.
She had heard it in his voice this evening when he’d called. He had been hoping they’d manage to catch a weekend together but it was proving difficult to line up. With midterms coming up there was no way she would be able to wangle a weekend out of state and given that the Colonel had already had a tour lined up for him there was going to be no time for him to fly in to see her. So he’d informed her that it would probably better if they settled for dates during spring break as planned. She’d been sad but she’d agreed though that hadn’t stopped her moping around the house for the last hour.
‘Jess?’ she heard her mother call from the front door.
‘Up here,’ she called pushing herself back on the bed until she was resting against the wall waiting for her mom to come in as she could hear her coming up the stairs. After a moment or so she pushed the door open looking at Jess with a smile, ‘hi sweetie, are you okay with pizza? I’m exhausted from work and don’t feel like cooking.’
‘Pizza’s fine,’ Jess said with a smile though it seemed weak, making Addison frown.
‘Are you okay?’ she asked moving into the room though she rested on the door handle.
‘Yeah, I’m fine,’ Jess said.
‘But?’ Addison asked wondering what was bothering her.
‘Nothing…I spoke to dad earlier,’ Jess explained making a knot form in Addison’s stomach, ‘he said he won’t be able to see us until spring break. Some tour or something.’
‘Oh,’ Addison said that knot lessening though she tried to mask her own disappointment as she said, ‘well that’s not all that far away, is it?’
‘I suppose,’ Jess shrugged.
‘And you two have been calling every day,’ she reasoned though she wasn’t sure who she was trying to reassure. Jess seemed to think about and then nodded, offering her mom a small smile. Addison didn’t feel much more reassured, but she smiled anyway and said, ‘how about some pizza huh?’
‘Sure,’ Jess said, ‘barbecue?’
‘Sure thing,’ Addison smiled before she closed the door and headed downstairs.
Yet as she descended her staircase she found her mind was on Elvis as it had been most of the time they had been home. She missed him, a lot, and the only thing that had been getting her through was the prospect it wouldn’t be too long until they could see each other again. She didn’t know why she was so desperate to see him. She was still firm in her decision that they couldn’t be together, and he had lived up to his promise of not forgetting about them the second they were out the door. In fact she probably spoke to him more than when they were living in his house. He called Jess nearly every day and it somehow ended with the pair of them on the phone together. Then it had started happening when she was sure he knew Jess wouldn’t be home or ridiculously late when she was in bed. She should’ve said something but she couldn’t bring herself to. That was why this prolonged gap scared her - they were doing so well.
When she got downstairs she tried to put it out of her mind. He’d no doubt call at some point and they could discuss it properly and she should’ve felt grateful he was being open and honest with Jess instead of putting her off with excuses or asking Addison to be the bearer of bad news. Yet as she picked up the phone to dial the pizza place she found her finger twitching to put in that familiar set of digits and she had to force herself not to. As the phone rang out for the pizza place she stripped out of her uniform, donning a pair of pyjamas that had been sitting on top of her neglected pile of clean laundry for over a week but just as she went to throw her shirt on the line clicked on and she was forced to give her order in just her bra, holding back laughter as she pictured Tony on the other end of the line completely unaware of the scene, Elvis’ teasing in her mind. Though as the order finished up and the line went dead she found herself dialling again, throwing her shirt on as it rang out until it eventually clicked on.
‘Hello?’ Elvis’ voice rang out clear but soft in her ear.
‘Hey…it’s me,’ she said. She didn’t know why she called him and now she was on the phone she found it was evident she had no reason to, her words not coming as she stood there. On the other end she could hear Elvis shift, waiting for her to say something but when she didn’t he answered for her, ‘uh everything alright?’
‘Fine, fine,’ she said twirling the phone cord around in her fingers nervously,
‘You know you’re a horrible liar,’ Elvis chuckled making her flush, ‘what’s the matter?’
‘Nothings the matter,’ she protested hopping up on the countertop so she could speak, ‘I’ve just come home to a very forlorn teenager you wouldn’t know anything about that now, would you?’
‘Oh that,’ Elvis sighed.
‘She said you’re going on tour?’ Addison asked.
‘Yeah, it’s been booked for a while I just kinda forgot… what with everything going on,’ Elvis said sheepishly.
‘That’s understandable,’ Addison said as amenably as she could. She knew it wasn’t his fault but the fact the Colonel’s doings would push them apart once again did sting.
‘Which isn’t ideal I know especially since I was hoping I’d be able to swing by sometime soon,’ Elvis explained.
‘Swing by? Oh sure just pop on over it’s only what fifteen hundred miles?’ Addison giggled.
‘Well it’s not ideal but it’s doable,’ Elvis said soaking in her laugh as it travelled through the line, ‘just not right now, I guess. Looks like spring break is gonna be the next time we can meet.’
‘Well we knew that might be our only option,’ Addison said.
‘Yeah, I suppose,’ Elvis said sounding just as upset as Jess had. It was a tone that made her chest feel tighter. Elvis didn’t seem to notice she had paused and asked, ‘Jess isn’t too upset right? I tried to explain-’
‘She’s fine just a little bummed out,’ Addison said hoping her words made him feel better.
‘Me too,’ he admitted, ‘but hey maybe one day it’ll slow down and then you guys will be sick of seeing me around your place.’
‘Does your life ever slow down?’ Addison countered. It was joke though its only purpose was to deflect that funny feeling inside her when he mentioned them seeing each other all the time.
‘Yeah, I guess you’re right,’ he sighed making her worry she had over corrected.
‘But there’s always spring break,’ she said trying to reel him back.
‘Yeah true,’ he agreed with a smile and then without any prompting she found the words tumbling out of her mouth before she gave them permission to.
‘I’m looking forward to it. I miss you,’ she said. He paused for a beat making her wince as she heard how desperate she sounded though that desperation didn’t seem all that bad as he said, ‘I miss you too.’
Fortunately her little slip of vulnerability seemed to be forgotten and Elvis remained true to his word about staying in contact. Though life got busier he managed to find time for them even if the calls were now every other day. And as time went on Addison couldn’t help but feel excited about going back to Graceland, he may not have brought up her mentioning how much she missed him but that didn’t mean she had stopped. In fact it only seemed to get worse, no more so than when they were pulling into the gates of Graceland. He was mere meters away instead of miles and it was taking all she had not to run into the house like a mad woman so she was disappointed when they came in through the front door and found him nowhere to be seen.
She didn’t know what she had expected and though Dodger and Vernon’s warm welcome from where they had been waiting for them in the living room was nice it wasn’t the same. Still, she smiled through it all, making casual conversation about their trip even though her feet were itching to run and find him. Fortunately there was no need to just as Vernon was talking about their plans for dinner she heard the dining room door open and looked up to find Elvis coming through it.
‘Has anyone seen Nancy?’ he said stopping in his tracks as he noted the pair of them standing in the living room entry way, ‘what are you guys doing here? I-I mean so soon I thought you weren’t due till four?’
‘Our flight got in a little early and Jer was already there,’ Addison said feeling a little better that he hadn’t just forgotten.
‘I wish I’d have known,’ he said. He’d been hanging around all day, anxious for them to arrive and now he had missed it, though he seemed to pull out of his disappointment as he noticed Jess was standing there, ‘hey Jessie.’
‘Hi Dad,’ she smiled going over to hug him. He hugged her close, revelling in what he had been missing for the past couple of months.
‘Have ya got taller?’ he smiled, ‘feels like ya got another inch on ya.’
‘Don’t think so,’ Jess smiled, ‘maybe you’ve shrunk.’
‘Maybe,’ he chuckled, looking up at Addison who was watching him closely. As Jess pulled back he moved towards her opening his arms for her to step into which she did, cherishing every second of the feel of him against her. The best she had felt in months. When she pulled back she lingered in his arms for a minute, the pair of them smiling at one another, unwilling to let go.
‘What about me?’ she said.
‘Huh?’ Elvis asked trying to ignore the way his heart was thudding in his chest.
‘Have I got taller?’ she teased making him smirk.
‘Nope, still the same lil shorty you’ve always been,’ he ribbed making her roll her eyes though as she did she noticed there was something on his face and moved her finger to brush it off.
‘Is that flour?’ she asked as his hand flew to his cheek as he brushed at himself, removing himself from her grip as he checked himself in the mirror close by, much to her disappointment.
‘Oh uh yeah,’ he said, ‘I’m baking a cake.’
‘You’re baking a cake?’ Addison said raising an eyebrow.
‘Well me and Lisa are with Nancy’s supervision that’s what I was comin’ out to find her for,’ Elvis said feeling a touch shy as the girls shared a smug look.
‘Why are you baking a cake?’ Jess asked intrigued but just as she did Lisa appeared at Elvis’ side.
‘Elvis you’re taking too long,’ she whined pulling on his shirt impatiently.
‘I’m just talking baby. I’ll be in in a minute, okay?’ he said making her nod as she opened her arms in expectation for him to pick her up. He did so and only once she was securely on his hip did she seem to notice they weren’t alone and her gaze shifted past him, finally noticing Jess and Addison standing there.
‘Hey Lisa,’ Jess said first making the younger girl smile.
‘Hi Jessie,’ she beamed before looking at Addison and saying, ‘hi Miss Addison.’
‘Hi sweetheart,’ Addison said, ‘I hear you and your daddy are baking a cake.’
‘We are,’ Lisa said her eyes lighting up as she responded, her annoyance at Elvis’ lack of haste all but forgotten, ‘it’s for you and Jess!’
‘It is?’ Jess said with a smile.
‘Yep!’ she said beaming back at her.
‘You didn’t need to do all that,’ Addison said leaning in towards her with a smile.
‘We’re celebrating,’ Lisa said seriously.
‘Oh yeah what are we celebrating?’ Addison smiled.
‘Jessie is my sister! So I asked Elvis if we could make a cake,’ she smiled making Addison pull back.
‘Yeah, uh Cilla thought it was better she knew,’ he said looking at Jess who smiled, ‘Jess why don’t you two go and see if it’s ready?’
‘Okay,’ she said offering her hand out as he slipped Lisa off his hip. Lisa took it immediately, looking up at her sister as she started telling her every single detail about the cake she could remember. As they disappeared into the kitchen he turned back, finding Addison watching him with a smile.
‘You okay with her knowing?’ he asked.
‘Everyone else does,’ she said, ‘not exactly fair to keep her in the dark.’
‘Yeah, Cilla figured she was better telling her than someone else,’ he said. It felt weird to mention her in front of Addison. For the past couple of months he had done nothing but think of her, long for her, and to mention another woman, even his ex-wife, in front of her felt wrong. He loved Priscilla of course, he always would, but right now he just wanted to revel in the fact she was back in front of him, for at least another few weeks.
‘Yeah she’s right. And if it means we get cake I’m in,’ she smirked, ‘you made chocolate cake right?’
‘Like I’d be stupid enough to pick anything else,’ he smirked throwing his arm around her shoulders in a manner that made her stomach flip flop as they walked towards the kitchen, ‘but uh I’m not promisin’ it’ll be edible.’
‘Cakes cake,’ Addison smiled.
✵✵✵
Over the next couple of days Addison was surprised just how quickly she fell into the groove that was Graceland. As a kid she’d become part of the furniture in months, as a teen just weeks, but now as an adult she found she was back feeling just as comfortable as ever in days if not hours. Which was why she was filled with trepidation as she headed downstairs to the kitchen. Now if she was at home the day would be like any other. A day at home with maybe a dinner out with Jess, the perfect way to spend her thirty third birthday. But being familiar with the aura the house brought meant she doubted today would that simple. Which is why she was confused when she walked into the kitchen to find Elvis, Jess, Lisa and Dodger sitting at the kitchen table like they had for the past couple of days. No frills. No outright celebration. It made her suspicious. At her presence by the stairs Jess looked up from her breakfast and smiled.
‘Happy Birthday Mom,’ Jess said as Addison moved to pour herself a cup of coffee whilst Dodger got up to make her a plate.
‘Thanks sweetheart,’ Addison said as Dodger set her plate down and said, ‘happy birthday.’
‘Thanks,’ she smiled slipping into the seat beside Elvis who was watching her.
‘What?’ she asked.
‘Am I allowed to say happy birthday?’ he asked.
‘Of course you are why?’ Addison said confused.
‘Well I asked Jess if we could put up some banners and she said no. So I suggested we go out for breakfast and she said no,’ Elvis teased making her roll her eyes, ‘so I just wondered what I could do.’
‘Pass the syrup,’ Addison retorted. Elvis smirked but grabbed the syrup bottle by him all the same, handing it to her as he said, ‘happy birthday.’
‘Thank you,’ Addison smiled.
‘Happy birthday Miss Addie,’ Lisa said with a mouthful of pancake.
‘Why thank you Miss Lisa,’ Addison smiled.
‘Hang on I left your present upstairs,’ Jess said moving to get up from her seat but her mother waved her off.
‘It’ll keep,’ Addison said.
‘Mom,’ Jess protested.
‘Honestly it’s fine,’ Addison said, ‘eat your breakfast. I can go another hour or so without cards and presents.’
‘I made you a card too,’ Lisa beamed.
‘Well thank you sweetie that’s very kind of ya,’ Addison smiled glancing at Elvis who smirked as he picked up his coffee cup.
‘Well don’t be expecting anything off me,’ Elvis chuckled as he sipped his drink, ‘I know better.’
‘Are you saying you’ve finally listened?’ Addison teased.
‘I just figure you’ll be as stubborn at thirty-three as you were at three,’ Elvis smirked before he added, ‘though I hear old age is supposed to mellow folks out.’
‘Hey you’ve still got five years on me bub,’ she quipped.
‘Oh so I’m old now?’ Elvis mused. She was smiling at him, her hazel eyes sparkling as she teased him, and he found it odd how their age difference didn’t feel like the chasm it once had. Back when they’d been dating he’d been so aware of it even though she was never the seventeen-year-old she should’ve been thanks to the stressors in her life. Yet now he felt as though they were equal.
‘By God if you two are old what does that make me?’ Dodger laughed making the girls giggle. As Addison looked towards her Elvis continued watching her for just a second feeling his heart flutter as he took her in though he was forced to shift his gaze to his grandmother as he felt Jess watching him.
‘You’re probably more of a spring chicken than any of us,’ Addison said.
‘Have to be to keep up with you young ‘uns,’ Dodger chuckled, ‘anyway what are you doing to celebrate?’
‘Oh nothing much,’ Addison shrugged.
‘Oh come on Addie,’ Elvis moaned. He had been lenient. He knew if he went overboard it wouldn’t go down well and though Jess had supported his ideas she had reigned him a little. He had listened, well mostly, but if he was going to have a chance at doing what he had planned for later he needed her to be at least halfway on board, not flat out refusing.
‘What?’ she asked, ‘I’m good.’
‘Come on mom we gotta do something,’ Jess said.
‘I’m doing what I want. I’m hanging out with you guys,’ Addison said.
‘Aw you big softy,’ Elvis teased earning a playful glare.
‘Oh shut up,’ she said.
‘Seriously though we have to do something today,’ Elvis said.
‘Yeah, I agree,’ Jess said.
‘Me too,’ Lisa agreed making Addison sigh as she looked at the three of them watching her with the same big blue puppy dog eyes. Dodger chuckled and shifted out of her seat, taking Jess and Lisa’s empty plate from in front of them as she looked at Addison and said, ‘ain’t no use fighting ‘em.’
‘No I know,’ Addison sighed, ‘okay fine but what?’
‘Anything, the world’s your lobster,’ Elvis said as she agreed.
‘Nothing too over the top though,’ Addison warned, if anything she was at a loss of what she actually wanted to do. She hadn’t been lying when she’d said spending time with them was enough and so she looked to the girls for help, ‘what do you girls want to do?’
‘Ooh how about we go horseback riding? Dad said he was going to show me some of the trails off the grounds,’ Jess said.
‘Yeah!’ Lisa cheered.
‘Well that would be good if I could actually ride a horse,’ Addison said.
‘You could ride with me,’ Elvis said making her look at him though as he felt a heat pool in his lower belly he backtracked figuring maybe it wasn’t the best idea to have her tucked in front of him for the whole afternoon, ‘or Jess she’s a real strong rider.’
‘Yeah, I promise we won’t race,’ Jess giggled. Addison hesitated; it wouldn’t have been her first choice but seeing how excited they both were she couldn’t help but smile.
‘Horse riding it is,’ she said.
✵✵✵
Despite her uncertainty Addison found her birthday actually going pretty well. After their late breakfast stroke lunch they’d headed out to the stables where Elvis had introduced her to the horses. She’d met some of them on their first visit but seeing how much Jess and Elvis enjoyed riding together she’d chosen to stay away so they could enjoy something just the pair of them. Lisa had told her all about her horse though as they headed out she had opted to ride with Elvis on Rising Sun whilst Jess and Addison shared Priscilla’s horse Lady. They’d wandered through the grounds at a slow pace, talking about anything and everything though there were times when the four of them were content to just watch the laziness of the springtime pass through the Graceland grounds. Eventually they made their way out onto the back streets, most of which Addison was sure Elvis owned as they remained deserted and unbothered well until they looped back onto the main stretch of road out front of the mansion and people started noticing them.
As they headed back up to the gates Elvis remained calm, waving at folks as he passed them though she noticed how he directed Jess to steer in closer to him. It wasn’t busy but as they pulled up by the gate they were stopped. Whilst Elvis slipped gracefully off his horse he kept Lisa on gesturing for the guard to walk her through as he nodded for Jess to trot on in. They lingered by the open gate, waiting for him as he interacted with the couple of fans waiting - taking pictures and signing autographs. And as Addison sat watching him from a distance she was struck by how normal it all felt. That even though he was talking to fans outside a literal mansion it felt as though they could be anyone. Just the four of them. A family.
And for a moment she let herself believe just that. She’d been protesting it all so much her head was a spin but she couldn’t deny how much she liked that idea. How she liked that as they came into the gates he’d taken charge just in case. She liked how Jess had become so acclimatised to what she had once feared she didn’t even bat an eye as people started staring at them. She liked that Lisa seemed to like having her around. And so she was going to enjoy it even if just for the day, as a birthday present to herself.
After the ride the girls had insisted they spend the rest of the day by the pool and given that it was a comfortably warm 75 degrees Addison and Elvis agreed. Whilst Addison read her book by the side of it, chatting to Mary when she came out with a tray full of drinks and snacks, Elvis and the girls made the most of the water.  She tried to focus on her book but from time to time she couldn’t help but watch them play. She loved how laid back he was with them, how his head fell back with such radiant laughter as they played. She loved how the girls shrieked when he lifted them into the sky, launching them into the pool with an almighty splash. She loved how he pretended not to notice the girls plotting to dunk him under the water though the fervent giggling gave them away almost instantaneously.
After a while they climbed out, Jess barely having time to grab a towel before Lisa was pulling her by the hand towards her outside play area. Addison watched them go, using her hand to shield her eyes from the sun though she was distracted as Elvis shook off like a dog beside her causing water to spatter up her bronzing skin. Since they’d gone outside she hadn’t really seen much of him. He and the girls had been so excited they’d practically ran down the stairs and allowed her to take her time. Now he was standing beside her looking at her with a cock sure grin as he towelled water droplets off his toned tanned torso. It made a fire burn in her lower belly, one she had to force herself to stomp out. She was already living in enough fantasy for today.
‘You alright over here on your own?’ Elvis said as he dropped down onto the sun lounger beside her, running the towel over his legs as he tried to get dry.
‘Perfectly fine,’ she said popping her bookmark in the crevice of her book and placing it on her lap, ‘you guys looked like you were enjoying yourselves.’
‘Yeah, it’s been a good day,’ he beamed flopping onto his back as he placed his legs up onto the lounger.
‘Yeah it has,’ she smiled. She could hear the girls from far away, laughing and giggling, and the rustle of the breeze through the tall trees on the grounds which caught her attention as she watched their leaves flutter for a moment. When she looked back towards him he was watching her.
‘Have you had a good day?’ he asked hopefully.
‘Yeah, I really have,’ she smiled though it dimmed as he shifted, pulling the wet material of his swim trunks off the skin on his thigh that they had been sticking to. He looked hesitant for a moment but then he seemed to think about whatever he was going to say and decide it was a good idea.
‘You know I’ve been thinkin’,’ he said quietly.
‘What about?’ she asked wondering what on earth might be going on in that head of his. If her little fantasy for the day had been so overtly obvious that he had noticed.
‘Today,’ he admitted, ‘and I know you said low-key, but I’d like to take you out to dinner…you should celebrate.’
‘I am,’ Addison said though it wasn’t an attempt to be abrasive. Sitting in the sun surrounded by her favourite people had been more than she could have asked for.
‘I mean properly,’ he said quietly.
‘I am,’ she said, ‘besides it’s not like it’s a big birthday or anything.’
‘No but…I’ve missed your big birthdays,’ he said glancing at her before he dropped his gaze, ‘eighteen, twenty-one, thirty…so I’d like to do something nice for ya. Nothing extravagant just a dinner nothing more, just us, the kids, Daddy and them.’
‘Okay,’ she said smiling at him as he braved looking at her though as she did an idea flicked through her brain making her sit up quickly as did Elvis now panicked, ‘oh god what am I gonna wear?’
‘Jesus Ads you almost gave me a heart attack,’ Elvis said sinking back as she flushed, embarrassed at her theatrics.
‘Sorry I just haven’t brought anything…fancy,’ she said.
‘You think McDonalds is fancy?’ Elvis asked raising an eyebrow though he smirked as he saw her frown, ‘I’m just kiddin’.’
‘Har har,’ she said, ‘still wherever we go I don’t think I’ve got anything…’
‘Well if you want you could go shopping with the girls this afternoon, take my card, buy something new. Don’t look at me like that,’ he said as she glared at him, ‘you can spend as much as little as you want. Besides I ain’t bought ya anything so you can count it as your present.’
‘You really haven’t bought me anything?’ she said in a tone that made Elvis suppress a smile. She was disappointed he could tell though she was pretending she wasn’t. It was true he hadn’t technically bought her anything but that didn’t mean he hadn’t arranged her a present. And having them all out of the house would definitely help him set it up.
‘Nope,’ he said.
‘Smart move,’ she said putting her eyes on the page of her book she had reopened.
‘Can’t promise Dodger hasn’t though,’ he said.
‘She shouldn’t spend her money on me,’ Addison tutted making him laugh heartily which confused her, ‘what?’
‘Nuthin’,’ Elvis chuckled, ‘I just think it’s sweet you think it’s her money.’
‘Looks like you bought me something after all then huh?’ Addison said.

Ooooh!!! 20 for the ask game :D
part of canon you found tedious or boring
I wrote most of this several hours ago and just barely edited it lol so hope it makes sense! Added some spaces which probably doesn’t help a whole lot lol it’s… very long. Thanks for asking!!!! You don’t have to read it all hshbdnnrns
This one is actually probably p nonviolent bc I don’t think this is a very controversial take round these parts! But definitely all of Finn’s romantic plot lines. I can sort of make an argument abt how they reflect the part of his character that’s really invested in the fairytale idea of being a hero which implies being the romantic lead
(I lean toward hcing him as aroace but don’t feel super strongly abt it, but that or gay or otherwise not into women also adds a comphet element— regardless it’s an interesting parallel with lots of characters but in particular Bonnie, who very clearly has lived her life according to rules she gathered and interpreted about who and what a princess is AND what a girl is. Very gendered so for Finn there’s a bit of toxic masculinity involved in his romantic pursuits and also his inclination toward violence in the earlier seasons. Plus the whole overarching theme of rebuilding society post-post-apocalypse and most of the characters kind of forcing themselves into a mold using what they know and don’t know about past societies combined with how their own has interacted w them.
Comphet also obviously parallel with Bonnie continuing to call Mr. CP her boyfriend etc etc etc, but also maybe more relevant— I hc Marceline as bi so I dont think being attracted to men is compulsory for her but still think heteronormativity is very relevant to her story & I think the same would be true for Finn regardless of orientation. Actually very similar for both of them subconsciously recreating heteronormative relationships which are so reflective of their own specific family structures— Marcy drawn to the Hunson in Ash and dare I say the Simon and the Betty AND the Elise in Bonnie? + Finn drawn to both the Minerva and the Margaret in Bonnie and FP and, to an extent, HW too. Caregivers who are also leaders and answer to no one. HW is a little less officially this but I’d argue that as a female character heavily associated with both nature and protection she is inherently at least a little bit mom-adjacent-coded or something idk what I’m saying but yeah that! Digression lol.)
BUT way overdone even if that was the intention. A lot of that time could’ve been spent on him and Jake and BMO doing silly shit or like expanding on his relationships with Jermaine and Margaret and Joshua and Fern and the humans etc etc. and/or more depth for the love interests themselves. Ofc I always want more Bonnie and there’s a lot more to dig into with FP (and the two of them together for that matter!) & also HW has such a cool design and she’s interesting but I feel like I don’t know much about her and had she and Finn had a different relationship there may have been more room for her to develop. It feels like fan service though I’m guessing now it’s not actually in service of most ppl who are still really big fans. Maybe more so network service lol.
Also sad that some of those songs (all gummed up slaps too hard) and episodes are really good/funny imo I wish they were about something else 😭 (too young is extremely important to me I refuse to discount it but I obvs understand why a lot of ppl want to it’s super frustrating/disappointing.)
Anyway!!!! Thank you for asking and thank you everyone who reads this!!

The Beginning of the End
This is the first episode since True Colors (and I guess Olivia and Yunan) to real explore Marcy's emotional status and character.
More particularly, it addresses the aftermath of True Colors and represents Marcy as sympathic; maybe her needs and feelings were being ignored, hence why she acted the way she did.
What's weird is that this is one of the most personally relatable Marcy moments -- enthusiastically sharing something you love with someone and not getting much enthusiasm back.
But wooo, the fact that Anne and Sasha agreed to watch the movie, even if they never saw the whole thing, kind of impresses me?
Like, the other two girls were okay enough with letting Marcy play the movie over and over again. Neither of them may have been very interested in it (Anne watching but not really interested and Sasha not really paying attention), especially after having seen parts of it over and over. But they're still letting her play the movie. I don't know if this is just my experience talking, but the idea that someone, who maybe isn't interested in the thing you care about, sits around with you while watching something more than once, would kind of blow my mind.
Also a three hour movie is a lot.
The other weird thing about the whole Marcy flashback is how I read Anne and Sasha's responses. Anne's comes across as her trying to be encouraging, not wanting to dismiss Marcy's love for a movie which Anne herself doesn't find engaging; I think that at least shows she doesn't want to hurt Marcy's feelings. As for Sasha, her "I don't actually care" reads to me as an "I don't care about spoilers," but, to Marcy, probably reads as "I don't care about the things you care about." Then the falling asleep bit tells Marcy that neither of the other girls care about what she cares about.
But I'm not sure that's entirely true? Or at least, it's not as simple as "Marcy likes things and Anne and Sasha ignore & dismiss those things." We see Marcy going on a lot about her interests, more than the other two; we see the three seemingly attempting one of the DnD-type games. We see Marcy making a suggestion (stealing the music box) that is followed through. We see them watching a movie of Marcy's preference at sleepovers, despite her being the only one interested in it.
On one hand, yeah, Marcy's feelings were ignored, her interests were treated as obscure weirdness that the other two put up. There was a real sense that Marcy felt her feelings/interests/enthusiasm was unpalatable. And that's both incredibly sad and also very explainable for her actions in S2.
One the other hand, I still stand pretty firm on the idea that Anne had to suppress her actual enthusiasm and interests. While Marcy may have felt hers were dismissed/ignored, she still continued to express them (and Anne continued to haphazardly engage). Anne didn't really get that, far as I can tell.
I'd prefer not to make it an either/or debate. Both Marcy and Anne had problems in their friend dynamic. That's the kind of the point; there was toxicity between all the three girls in different ways. :P

OH BESTIE FOR PROMPTS!!! How about some platonic “I love you more than all the stars in the sky” becuz i can’t write rn but I really love this :)))
yknow, I debated this a Lot more than I thought I would for such a simple prompt, but here is the final accumulation of my thoughts on the topic of Stars! (also quick tw for mentions of blood and death, since this is part of my ghost hunters au!)
the night sky had always looked the same to sasha, every night she would stare up into the ever expanding universe and wonder what it was that marcy had been able to see. "see, sash! he's right there!" she would giggle, waving her arms around a certain point, connecting stars like dots, but sasha had never seen it.
maybe that's what happens when your dead. you stop seeing things properly.
"y'know what? i don't think i'm cut out for stargazing," sasha has replied one night. it hadn't been long since they'd died, maybe a few days since she'd woken up in that forest, surrounded by a numbing coldness and the stench of blood seeping into every avaliable crevice.
marcy and her had left anne a few hours before. she didn't know they were dead, they didn't want her to know, so they'd said they were going home, but circled back to the park.
"don't be silly, anyone can stargaze," marcy had said gently, turning to look at sasha with that soft smile that would probably send her heart racing had she been alive.
"what? even ghosts?" she asked with a roll of her eyes.
"well, we can see, right?"
"yeah, yeah I guess we can," sasha nodded, tilting her had back to look at the sky again.
"there you go! that's really all you need," marcy sighed happily, taking sasha's cold hand in her own. swinging their arms in-between them as they stood under the night sky.
"when i was alive, i had been saving up for a telescope," marcy said after a while, her voice carrying a sadness sasha hated.
"really?" sasha asked, pulling her eyes away from one of the stars to look at marcy.
with a nod, marcy faced sasha, her eyes welling with silver tears, though they would never fall, ghosts can't cry. "yeah. i'd asked my parents for one last year, but they forgot my birthday, so anne and i decided to start saving up for one." there was a wistful smile on her face as she spoke, one that made sasha's non-existent heart twist.
"i'm sorry, marmar," sasha whispered, unsure of what else to say.
"it's alright, not your fault i died," she chuckled, wiping her eyes with her free hand.
"still, you deserved to see the stars up close."
"maybe, but then i wouldn't have met you," marcy mumbled after a few minutes. "and i'm so glad i met you, sash."
"we're dead, marce," sasha replied, her voice cracking.
"i know, and its the worst, but at least we're together, right?" when sasha looked over, marcy's pale eyes were wide and the smile on her face wobbled, but she was trying. "god, to think i met one of my best friends after i died," she cried, taking in a sharp breath to stop the sob in the back of her throat.
"well, at least you had anne" sasha swallowed the lump rising in her chest. marcy tilted her head to the side in confusion, and sasha let out a weak laugh. "i think you were my first friend, like proper friend." and god, how pathetic did that sound, sasha waybright, once the most popular girl in school, admitting that marcy was her first friend. though, it wasn't like there was anyone else to hear it, so with that knowledge, she didn't mind saying it out loud. "so, i only met my best friends after i died," she ended with a choked laugh, turning to face marcy fully and grabbing her other hand.
"its weird how the universe works, huh?" marcy giggled, her eyes shooting up to the sky. "there are so many stars out tonight, sash."
"you know i love you, marcy," sasha had said gently, not looking away from marcy's face. "more than all the stars in the sky."

Forgiveness
(Day 1 + 4 + 5 of Sashannarcy week Forgiveness, Sleepover and Future)
Lee Sasha and Marcy Ler Anne
"Come back here !!" A now older Anne Boonchuy shouted at her girlfriends
"If you stop coming after us like an angry bull" Marcy shouted back at the Boonchuy
Marcy and Sasha tried to make breakfast for for Anne as a thanks for letting them sleep over, but had a little accident in the kitchen, Anne states that she wants to make them pay for it, but Marcy and Sasha doubt she means money, so it's best they don't stick around
Marcy and Sash run up stairs and Sasha and her slip into Anne's room and locks the door
As they though they escaped, a blue figure jumped in the window, Anne turned off her calamity powers and trapped Sasha in her arms
"Waitwaitwaitwaitwaitwait" a nervous Waybright shouted
Anne only smirked and scribbled her fingers on the blonde's hollows, which made her clamp her arms down, but it didn't stop Anne from getting her
'AHAHAHANNNE NOO" Sasha screamed
Anne didn't listen, she just kept tickling her blonde girlfriend.
'You know I can't stop until you lift your arms up, cuz I'm kinda stuck under there" Anne teased
Sasha felt like this is a trap so she tried to hold on for as long as she could
"Not giving me my hands huh, welp I don't need them" said Anne with and idea
Anne put her head down on Sasha's stomach
"Wait Anne let's talk about this" Sasha begged
"Ok let's talk, I'm gonna give you raspberries on your stomach, there we talked about it" Anne replied
It wasn't long before it came true, Anne blew raspberries all over Sasha's stomach as she mentioned and the blonde started screaming the house down.
Marcy knew it was a her cue to leave, although watching her girlfriends laughing and smiling is one of the best things to her, she knew she was gonna be next if she didn't run
"Where do you think you're going Mar Mar" Anne said as she noticed the raven haired girl started running, Anne let go of Sasha and started to run after Marcy. Marcy was about to get to the door but she wasn't fast enough for the tennis player for Anne ran in front her and pinned her to the ground.
"Anne no, we're sorry, we didn't mean to, we just wanted to make you breakfast" Marcy said in fear
Anne only smiled sincerely and answered in a gentle voice
"I know, I forgave you both already, I just saw you guys really sad about it and I wanted to cheer you up, I also heard your conversation about trying to make up for past events"
"Yeah, we have to, we caused you so much pain, so we want to put our all into everything we do for you because you deserve so much better Anne" Marcy replied
Anne frowned at Marcy's comment and wrapped her in a hug from behind and started to dig into Marcy's sides
"Aahahannne *snort* nahahaha" Marcy squealed out
"You both are so much to me, you guys are some of the best thing s that ever happened to me and love you both so much, don't you ever say things like that" said Anne
Anne lifted up Marcy's shirt to start nibbling into her torso. The ranger screeched out pleads and cries of mercy as she thrashed and turned, she couldn't handle it
"Anne stahahap ihiht, dohohon't" begged Marcy
"dont what" Anne asked
"Tickle me, WAIT NO" replied Marcy
"Your wish is my command Lady Marcy" Anne said with a huge smirk on her face
Anne looked up to see Sasha hiding by the door just watching the event unfold, she got up holding onto Marcy and started going after Sasha who saw her coming a ran. Eventually Anne caught up to her and gave her the same treatment she was giving Marcy.
After an hour or so, Mr. and Mrs. Boonchuy came home to find the kitchen in a mess but all three girls on the floor sleeping.

Flashback to 2003
Narrator's POV
'The fifth game. This was the fifth game he has missed this year. He wasn't even there to comfort me in the ambulance.'  Y/N sat angrily on the hospital bed, with a cast on her foot. She was so mad at her father. For the second year in a row, Her father has missed all her activities.
She knows why he isn't there, but she thought that when her father told her that he was getting married and having another child, he would at least make time for her. Now, she is in the hospital with only her mother by her side.
The doctor walks into the room with a smile. "Well young lady, you are free to go. Your mother can sign you out at the front desk, and then you may go," The doctor said.
As I'm getting ready to go, Bobby runs in. "I'm so sorry. Marcy had a doctor's appointment, and I lost track of time," he says.
Y/N hops away, using her crutch, and rolls her eyes. "Y/N,"  Bobby calls out defeated. "She scored the winning goal before breaking her leg. When she saw your team come to her rescue, she thought that maybe, just maybe, her father would still see all her hard work. It seems like you care about your new family more, but get this through your head, Robert. She... Is... Your family," Y/M/N says with an angry tone.
Bobby stood in the hospital room looking at the bed where his daughter laid, injured. He knew he messed up. He knew he was losing his daughter. She is almost a teenager. He had to make it up to her.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bobby's POV
I know the best way to make it up to Y/N. Ever since she was little, she loved riding with me and the crew as we saved people's lives. I told Marcy that even though I had to work I was also going to spend time with my daughter. She was okay with that.
Y/N's Pov
When my dad picked me up, I didn't know what to expect. I was still injured and mad, so what could we possibly be doing. I got into the car when I noticed his work bag.
My face lit up when I figured out what was happening. "Am I going to work with you," I questioned my father? "Yeah, and I have a surprise for you," my dad said while watching the road. He tried to hide his smile but I knew it was there.
When we got to the Firestation, everyone greeted me. I saw some old faces and some new ones. We walked to the changing room. When we entered, my dad opened his bag and handed me some clothes. "You got me one of your uniforms," I said while jumping up and down. He nodded his head and we headed out.
The ride was so cool. Even though I still had my cast on, the fire crew let me put out a small fire with the hose. It was so cool. We then had to help out a gruesome fight. The gory calls were always the best. We ended the day with the team going out for burgers and milkshakes.
I had so much fun with my dad. The next day, I went to school still wearing my dad's fire department shirt he gave me.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Present Day
Narrator's POV
When Bobby saw the woman he once called his baby girl, he knew he had to see her. He sat in the hospital lobby along with Eddie remembering the conversation he had with Athena.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2 hours ago
Bobby's POV
"What's wrong? It looks like you've seen a ghost," Athena asks with a chuckle. I keep a very serious look and say, "I did. That was my daughter." Athena looks at me with a serious/confused face and asks, "What?!"
"When I was young, I was also reckless," I said with a sigh. "So is every man in the world, but go on," Athena said jokingly.
I gave Athena the summary of my life before LA, "Y/N was a drunken mistake, but I still loved her. When I got with Marcy, I didn't hang out with her as much. Then I had the kids. When the fire happened, I knew I couldn't be around Y/N, so I did what I thought any father would do to protect their child. I ran. Now she's here in LA, with a son, and teaching Eddie's kid."
"Well, it seems like Y/N being back is a sign. Maybe you could get a second chance with her. You are great with May and Harry, why can't you use what you learned to better your relationship with your daughter?"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Narrator's POV
Y/N woke as the Nurse was checking her vitals. Y/N groaned and said, "What happened, and where is my son?" The nurse jumped and said, "Oh, Miss Nash you're awake. Well, you were in a car accident. Your son is fine. He is in the children's ward with minor injuries."
Y/N let out a breath, with the knowledge that her son was fine. "You have some visitors. I'm gonna let them in now."
'Visitors? What visitors? I just moved here. Did my mom find out somehow?' Y/n's thoughts took a pause as her door opened. It was two firefighters. One I knew for a fact was Eddie, and the other was someone who looked familiar, but I had no clue who they were.
"Eddie? What are you doing here?" Y/N asked smiling. He tried to give me a hug without hurting me. "Well, Chris has school on Monday, so I had to check on his new favorite teacher," he joked. Y/N laughed and smiled. Bobby watched his daughter with his co-worker. Y/N looked toward the familiar stranger.
"Hi, I'm Bobby Nash. I'm the LAFD's 118 fire captain." When Y/N heard the name, she instantly remembered the name. "Dad?" she said with tears in her eyes. Bobby wiped the tears from his eyes and walked over to his daughter. Eddie moved out of the way so that his fire captain could reunite with his daughter.
"Yeah baby, it's me." Y/N couldn't believe her eyes. Eddie decided to let the family talk and went to have a nurse bring Y/N's son to her room. "You left me," Y/N said now fully crying. "Let me explain. I was having a hard time at work, and it set me off. I did some things that I regret to this very day. I couldn't protect some of my family, but I knew I could protect you from the darkness inside of me. I didn't know what the best thing to do was, so I ran. I am so sorry," Bobby explained wholeheartedly.
Y/N instantly went in for a hug. She still had tears in her eyes, but she was happy. Still sad, but happy she gets another chance with her father. "I saw you today. You may not have been there to save me when I broke my, but you were there to save me today." Bobby smiled when a little boy walked into the room with Eddie.
The boy ran in. "Mommy," the boy yelled to the top of his lungs. Eddie helped him onto the bed. "Hi, baby. Zach, this is Bobby and Eddie. Eddie is Chris' dad an-" Y/N was cut off by her son, "The Eddie you said looked hot." "Shhh," Y/N said with a finger to lips. Eddie and Bobby watched the two and chuckled.
Y/N explained to Zachary that Bobby was his grandfather, and Zach was so happy. The 4-year-old almost ran Bobby down with the hug he gave. Y/N and Bobby were so happy to have their family back.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Eddie's Pov
After the visit to the hospital, I think it is safe to say that I like Y/N. The hard part was telling Shannon. She is Christopher's mother. I walked into the house to see Shannon and Chris making pizza.
"Daddy!" "Hey buddy," I say picking him up, "How was school?" "School was awesome. Y/N taught me math using M&M's, and then we got to eat them. During recess, Y/N and her son Zach played with me." The way Chris talked about Y/N made me like her even more. "When mommy picked me up we went to the store for ice cream and pizza. She said we're gonna watch a movie," Christopher said with a huge grin. Just when I think I want something, I remember that sometimes what I want isn't all about me.
The food finished cooking, and we sat down as a family and ate. We watched 'A Bug's Life' before Shannon left. I went to put Christopher to bed, but before he went to bed I wanted to have a talk. "Buddy, if I wasn't with mommy, but you could still hang out with her, you would be fine with that right." He looked at me and said, "We just got her back. Do you not love her anymore."
"No, I will forever love your mommy, but she's been gone for so long that I think it is time for me to move on." "Are you talking about with Miss.Nash, because I saw the way you looked at her, and it was the same way I look at my dessert," I laughed at his joke.
"I like Miss. Nash and I love mommy. I don't want to lose them." What he said gave me a lot to think about. "Ok, bud. Go to sleep," I said standing by the door. I turned off the light and headed to my room. I got ready for bed and slept on my thoughts.

The Boss From Hell
Tumblr media
Summary: After Hell rose up under the rule of Boyking Sam and took over the earth, the reader has found herself working for Hell Corp and trying to be as productive an employee as possible to save herself from death. When she gets a call to meet with Sam himself though, he has a new job for her, one involving seducing his demon brother...
Pairing: Demon!Dean x reader
Word Count: 3,700ish
Warnings: language, threats, smut, angst
A/N: Enjoy!
_______
“Y/N. Sam would like to see you in his office,” said your boss, Todd. You swallowed, frozen in your seat. “Sweetie the longer you take the bigger odds he kills more slowly.”
“Right,” you said with a nod. “Um I’m almost wrapped up with the Johnson file but it’s final touches on the charts if you can do that after I’m, you know, dead.”
“Of course. I look forward to working together with you as a demon again,” he said. You swallowed and stood, Todd smiling. “All you humans are always so concerned about that. Trust me, this is better.”
“Looking forward...to it,” you said as you left your cubicle. Todd rubbed your shoulder before you went down the hall and out to the elevators. You were barely able to press the button down without shaking like a leaf. The doors shut quickly and you went down to the ground floor, quickly rushing over to a pair of large wooden doors where two demons in suits waited outside. They opened the doors for you and you forced yourself to step into the room.
It was no office. It had a lone chair and smelled faintly of blood. The doors shut behind you and you felt a presence close by.
“Y/N, isn’t it?” said Sam, his voice coming from directly to your right. He had a dark smile on his face as he walked in front of you.
“Yes sir,” you said as you lowered your head. He leaned down to get at your height and you shut your eyes.
“You think I’m going to kill you?” he asked. You nodded once and he laughed. “Well I do have a habit of doing that to most humans that come in here. I hear good things about you. Your bosses take credit for all of your work naturally but I know who puts in the long hours and does the real work. I’m quite impressed.”
“Thank you sir,” you said. He grabbed your chin and you looked up, Sam smiling back at you.
“I also know that you used your job here to help your human family. I don’t mind a rule broken here or there. You do work for Hell after all,” he said. He dropped your face and straightened himself up. “I’d like to promote you.”
“Oh, that’s very kind of you, sir,” you said. Sam smirked and you frowned.
“This isn’t an office job. You’re familiar with the resistance group known as W?” he asked. You nodded, used to seeing them all over the news. “My brother leads it. He’s...annoying. I’ve struggled to get a mole into his group for years. I feel as though you might be the one to help me change that.”
“Sir?”
“I want you to go undercover and gather intelligence for me.”
“Sir I thought…” you trailed off as he stared at you.
“Speak your mind. This only works if you tell me everything after all,” he smiled. You swallowed and nodded.
“I thought your brother was...a demon. A Knight of Hell,” you said.
“He is. He’s my second in command which is precisely why I want you to substantiate these rumors for me. Use any means necessary. Sex tends to work with him,” he said.
“You want me to have sex with a demon?” you asked, Sam releasing a booming laugh.
“Oh you’re so adorable. I want you to do whatever the fuck you have to in order to get close. The demon version of him is a little...slutty so use that to your advantage,” he said.
“Okay?” you said.
“You’re dismissed,” he said. He started to walk away and you opened your mouth. “Do not make me ask twice.”
You quickly left and went back to your cubicle, Todd surprised to see you still alive and human.
“Hey! You didn’t die! That’s good! Was this about the promotion I mentioned for you,” he smiled. “I bet it was.”
“Yeah,” you said wit a nod. “I um, got a promotion. I’m not working under you anymore though. Sorry.”
“Nah, it’s alright kid. You’re gonna do great things in upper management,” he said. “You mind finishing up that last report for me before you go?”
“Yeah, sure thing, Todd.”
You sighed as you stepped in front of your closet mirror that night. Sam had texted you some more information on Dean. You weren’t to come into work anymore unless he asked you to. You were a simple human now that had plenty of cash and resources and didn’t give a fuck about anything.
You spun around and winced at the shirt you had on. The backless shirt you had on. The last time you’d worn it was on a girls night to the club and you’d had an amazing time. But that was fun and a simple little backseat quickie with a handsome guy. This felt like you were selling your body.
“If I don’t go, he’s gonna torture me and kill me. If I do...I might get really hot sex and I might get to be safe from bad shit. Okay. Okay. I’m having sex with a demon tonight. I can’t believe I just said that but it’s happening. Okay. Here we go. Let’s do this. Let us do this,” you said, making a face. “Ah, why’d I have to be good at my job. Fuck.”
You took a deep breath and put on a pair of five inch heels, hair and makeup already done.
“Fuck me, fuck me, fuck me,” you said as you headed out to the club known for hosting demons.
“Two shots of vodka and an old fashioned,” you said at the bar thirty minutes later. The demon behind the bar nodded and you felt the eyes on your back. Lots and lots of black eyes in meat suits on your back. You threw back the shots once you got them, chugging the old fashioned before you got another.
“Rough day, princess?” asked a demon in a suit. He ran a finger up your spine and you narrowed your eyes.
“I don’t think princess said to touch,” said a voice. You turned your head and recognized the red shirt immediately. Dean Winchester, Knight of Hell and Sam’s righthand man. “Get lost.”
The demon took off and you got your drink, sipping it slowly as Dean came to lean back against the bar next to you.
“You know this is a demon bar, don’t you, sweetheart?” he asked.
“I ain’t your sweetheart. Sweetheart,” you said. You drank half your glass before you set it down. He smirked and picked it up, finishing it off. “That was mine.”
“I’ll buy you another one,” he said. He waved his finger and two shots of brown liquor were in front of you quickly. “You want to have tonight sweetheart?”
“Oh, you might be the Knight of Hell but I ain’t your typical girl,” you said. You took your shot in your hand and he smirked as he picked his up.
“I’ve heard it before. Let’s see if you live up to the hype,” he said. “Cheers.”
“Cheers, demon boy,” you said, clanking your glasses together.
“Another round. I like this one.”
“I said down,” you growled thirty minutes later in the room above the bar. You bit at his neck and rolled your hips, Dean thrusting up into you as you sucked his skin hard. “I. Said. Stay. The. Fuck. Still.”
He groaned as he released himself in you, your walls squeezing him, his tip hitting your g-spot and giving you a nice, deep orgasm. You kissed his marked up skin as you moved a few more times, smirking as you sat up. His hickey disappeared and he smiled, laughing to himself.
“Wow. You are not like other human girls,” he said.
“Demon or not, a bottom loves an in charge top,” you said. “Now I think it’s time you cleaned up the mess you made.”
You slid off of him and crawled up the bed, settling yourself over his face. He immediately starting eating you out, his tongue swirling and diving deep. You came quickly and he licked up your juices until you were sure there was nothing left.
“Good demon,” you said as you rolled off of him. He sat up on his elbows as you walked over to get dressed.
“Y/N,” he said. You tensed. You hadn’t told him your name. You looked over your shoulder and his smile seemed...sad almost. “Marcy’s 30th birthday. You went out with your friends. We uh, we had some fun in my car.”
“Blue flannel guy,” you said as it came back to you. “Wait, were you a demon-”
“No,” he chuckled darkly. “That improvement came later. Something about you in that shirt I can’t resist apparently, human or demon.”
“I live in town if you’re ever…”
“Looking for a fuck?” he asked. “I don’t have too hard of a time getting those.”
“There’s a difference between a fuck and a good fuck. How am I batting so far?” you winked.
“Two for two,” he said with a smirk. “Why’s a nice human girl like you in a place like this? I remember the hot sex. I remember the backseat cuddling too.”
“The demons are in charge, Dean. Hell won. I want to be on the winning side of this thing. You guys tend to fuck better too so there’s that.”
“The boyking is in charge. He’s the one to worry about,” he said.
“Isn’t he your boss?”
“I suppose. Change the guy’s diapers and this is how I’m repaid. Fucking vice president of this shit hole,” he said.
“Well, you’re hotter,” you said.
“He’d kill you for that you know. I should kill you for insulting him like that,” he said.
“Okay,” you said. He got out of bed and you stared up at him when he walked in front of you. “You’re still hotter.”
“He gets a lot of credit for being smart. Most everyone’s always thought he was more intelligent. I mean how obvious was he trying to send a mole after me?” he said. You didn’t move a muscle and Dean brushed your hair behind your ear. “Your only give away was getting out of bed and not trying to cuddle. I can’t blame you for that.”
“There’s no point in me trying to lie, is there,” you said.
“No, not really,” he said.
“Please kill me quickly,” you said. You shut your eyes and swallowed. “Please.”
“I think you’re going to come home with me and we’ll decide the answer to that. Get dressed. Now.”
Twenty minutes later Dean was leading you by the arm into a relatively normal looking home. He cut through the house and over to a kitchen table, dragging a chair out and setting it in the middle of the room. You sat down, Dean grabbing another one and swiveling it around to face you. He straddled it and sat down, lifting up a finger. He pointed it at you and curled it, your arms tight by your side.
“Understand?” he said. You nodded and the pressure came off of you. You set your hands in your lap, Dean looking you up and down. “I can’t blame you. Your options were agree to be a mole or death. It’s not really a choice at that point. He kills his loyal followers most slowly too I’m sure you’ve heard.”
You stared at him and he smiled.
“How about we come to a...similar agreement,” he said. You shut your eyes and he chuckled.
“You feed Sammy whatever information I tell you to and I will allow you to continue to live,” he said.
“Not much choice there either,” you said quietly.
“Do you know where he gets his powers from? Demon blood. Guess who’s blood he likes the most,” said Dean. He wiped his thumb over his forearm and you saw a scar appear. “I am sick of being his blood bank.”
“It keeps you weak, doesn’t it,” you said. “It’s why he does it. It’s why you haven’t challenged him.”
“Perceptive aren’t you,” he said. You knew he respected strength and you were valuable to him now. You stood up and he watched you carefully. You walked past him and felt a pressure keeping your arms by your sides but that was it. You could move forward, you could turn your head.
“You’re more than weak,” you said. He growled but you took a step forward and another, only stopping when his hand caught your arm. “I find it hard to imagine that the Knight of Hell gets that much power zapped when some blood gets taken from him. You’re weaker than the lowest level demon.”
“He did something to me. Now who’s side do you think I’m on? Demons? Or yours?”
“What’d he do.” He rolled his eyes and you shrugged him off. “Maybe I can help.”
“I am barely demon. He made me harmless. I keep him fed and that’s all I am anymore. He thought I was going to fuck him over. Well his big fuck up was nearly changing me back. Fuck him and fuck the demons. I’m gonna be in charge.”
“Are you going to end the world or just play dirty in it?” you asked. He smirked and raised his chin.
“You know I’m not as bad as him. I’m the lesser of two evils. You...want to help me. Oh, that’s even better than I thought. Shit, I could turn you in and probably get him to back off of me,” he said. You held your ground and he nodded. “Good. You know I was bluffing.”
“We can help each other,” you said. He rested a hand on your hip and gave it a squeeze. “I’m not your personal slut.”
“Understood. No reason we can’t indulge in a little fun while we work together though,” he said. He moved his hand aside and nodded. “I assume you want something for this.”
“What?”
“What do you want? Money? Power?”
“I don’t want to be afraid anymore. Everyone is always so afraid of what the demons will do to us. If you’re in charge, you and the other demons can play in our world but this is a human world again. Understand?”
“If my brother goes bye bye, Hell will go back to as it was. I swear on my soul,” he smirked.
“Alright then,” you said.
“Well, now that we got the dirty talk out of the way, how about I make you come screaming my name again?”
“How about you go upstairs, edge yourself and tomorrow when I come back, maybe I’ll be nice and let you get off,” you said.
“As you wish,” he said. “Don’t bother locking up. Nobody steals from us.”
“Dean,” you said as he headed upstairs. “Don’t fuck me over on this.”
“He’s not Sam anymore. I like you a hell of a lot more than him right now,” he said. “Wear something you don’t mind me tearing to shreds when you come by tomorrow.”
“We’ll see, demon boy.”
You swallowed as you followed Dean up to his bedroom the next night. You’d spent the day researching and understood what Sam had done to make him barely demon as he put it. One more shot of the right kind of blood and he’d be human.
“Y/N,” said Dean as he stepped aside and you saw a large bed. He grabbed your clutch and opened it, frowning when he pulled out the syringe of blood. “What exactly were you going to do with this? I thought we had an understanding.”
“You can help me. If you’re human then I know for sure you’re-”
“If I’m human, he knows it’s me. He knows it’s you. He’ll destroy us both. I am so much more valuable as a demon and this? This causes trust issues, sweetheart.” He snapped the syringe in his hand and you tried to take a step back, Dean slamming the door shut with his finger. “Here’s what’s gonna happen. I’m in charge and if you don’t like that, too fucking bad. Understand?”
“Yes,” you said. He walked until your back hit the door, a dark smile on his face as he peered down at you.
“Now how about-Fuck!” he shouted as you stabbed the syringe from your back pocket into his leg. You ran past him and over to a bathroom door, Dean falling down to the floor and clutching his body. He passed out and you looked around, Dean coming around quicker than you were expecting. You ran over and took out the pair of restraints from your pocket and put them on his wrists. Dean groaned as you tugged them taught and stepped back. He got up to his knees, black eyes staring at you that dissipated into deep green ones.
He shook his head out and took a few breaths, squeezing his eyes shut momentarily.
“Y/N? From the car?” he said. He looked around and down at his wrists. “What the hell is going on?”
“You don’t remember a thing?” you asked. He shook his head and swallowed. “What do you remember?”
“Sammy was...that can’t be real,” he said. “None of that is real.”
“Dean, your brother is the boyking of Hell and he rules not only Hell but earth too,” you said. He shook his head and you stepped closer. “You were a demon. I turned you human just now. Sam made you demon but kept you only kinda demon I guess for your blood. You sounded like you wanted to help and I’m sorry but you were too dangerous as a demon to work with.”
“What do you mean boyking?” asked Dean. You sighed and pulled out your phone, Dean’s breath hitching as you showed him the articles about your demon overlords. “This can’t be happening.”
“It is. I need your help. I know you hunted monsters. I need you to hunt this monster down with me.”
“You mean my brother,” said Dean. You nodded and leaned down, Dean holding out his hands. “Let me go. Please.”
“Are you going to tell Sam?” you asked.
“You have no idea what you just did,” he said. “This mark? On my arm? Eventually, I’m gonna lose it and I’m gonna kill anything in my way.”
“Then we get it off.”
“There is no getting it off. The only way to get it off is if somebody else takes it from me,” he said. “You can’t trust me as a human.”
“Are you kidding me? I just risked my life to save you.” He sighed and snapped the plastic ties, shakily getting to his feet. You stepped back and he held up a hand.
“We got some time before I go ballistic. Probably a few months. If we can get this thing off my arm...somehow...we might have a chance.”
“Then let’s get that off your arm,” you said. He nodded and smiled at you. “What?”
“I always had a good feeling about you was all. Let’s get out of-” he said as you heard a creak down the hall. You both looked out the bedroom door and saw Sam there.
“Y/N, Y/N...I should have known you’d be drawn to him. Now I have to kill him,” said Sam.
“Sammy, don’t,” said Dean, Sam suddenly by his side and snapping something. Dean dropped to the floor and you backed into a wall.
“Give him a minute. He’ll wake up all demon again real soon. This time, he’ll do as told,” said Sam. “He’s very...pliable when he first comes into his new life.”
“Pliable my ass,” said Dean as he yanked Sam down to the floor. Sam grunted and you dove into the bathroom, a lot of smashing and crashing going on in the bedroom. It went quiet and you swallowed when you heard footsteps. You looked up, Dean staring down at you, his eyes narrowed. “You followed the plan very well. I knew Sam was watching and he did exactly as expected.”
“Is he dead?” you asked.
“No. He’s going to detox now and when he’s done, he’ll be a simple little human,” said Dean. “As for our, arrangement...your family and friends are safe. Demon corp is no more.”
“Okay,” you said with a nod, wondering how the hell you were going to help either one of them now. Sam sounded like he was screwed but you knew deep down it wasn’t his fault. He was manipulated and you couldn’t blame him for that entirely. Dean, well him you just needed some blood and then you’d have time to get the mark off of him.
“Pack a bag,” he said. You raised an eyebrow and smirked as he squatted down. “I like loyalty. You’re loyal to me, aren’t you, Y/N?”
“I’m still not your slut,” you said.
“Didn’t say you were,” he said. “And I said pack a bag.”
“Why?”
“Because you just gave me Hell. I’m gonna give you whatever you want as my second in command.”
“Excuse me?”
“I feel like this is going to be the start of a great relationship, sweetheart,” he said as he flashed you a wink. “Don’t you? I’ll be by your place in an hour whether you’re ready or not.”
He walked out and you took a deep breath, closing your eyes.
“Well shit.”

Posting this here because I didn’t know what else to do. This is a rough and messy fic snippet. Not my best work, but I elongated and revised it into a proper fic. You guys could check it out here:

(Trigger Warning: Major Character Death, Blood)
Everyone is born with a soulmate identifying mark, one full sentence written on a certain part of their body. It was, of course, what helped a person recognize someone as their partner in life. But, it had one little... fucked up catch. These weren't the first words they spoke to you, these were the last words they'll ever say to you.
How would they know this? you might ask. Well, those words only ever sent sharp tingling sensations along where they were inscribed after their promised one's final breath, only when they've heard them say those words, of course. Not everyone who found their soulmates felt it, though, for they are the ones who die after hearing their loved one for the last time. It was an unfair ordeal, but that didn't mean someone couldn't fall in love with a person who isn't their soulmate. After all, couples who aren't soulmates comprise 78% of successful life-long relationships.
People around the world have tried coming up with tips and advices to find your soulmate, and only one had a 22% success rate (the highest) of actually finding your true partner: trusting your gut and your heart.
Folks destined to have more than one soulmate had a harder time finding them. Polyamory is a normal thing, especially among people with multiple marks, but not everyone got to live or meet each of them.
So when Anne was born with two marks, it had been quite a problem. One was written across her shoulders and the other on the small of her back.
Anne had hoped, truly hoped that the number 1 advice would work. She'd trusted her gut and her heart when she'd stayed close friends with Sasha and Marcy, since they, too, had two marks of their own. But after all the betrayal and heartache she endured, she started to think it wasn't them, and it only grew worse when Marcy said, "I'm sorry... For everything," before collapsing. Those words didn't match either mark.
Months after that, she'd lost and gained more hope. Lost in that she's had a hard time believing Sasha to be her other soulmate, gained in that Marcy was still alive. She was happy, ecstatic even, of the news Yunnan had given them, that she was tempted to jump on Joe Sparrow and fly there immediately. But she was stopped by Sasha, the rebellion leader saying she was the one who would rescue Marcy instead. Anne was pissed. Who did Sasha think she was? A commander who developed a martyr complex just because she'd fucked everything up before??
The two devolved into a fight after, in Sasha's tent after everybody else had left after Yunnan's news. Anne had ended it with a shout of, "UGH! I don't want to have to do anything with you anymore!"
Sasha laughed bitterly, replying coldly and sadly, "Don't worry, because soon you won't be dealing with me any longer."
Anne marched out of the tent, furious. If Sasha meant what she think she meant, then good, because after the war they wouldn't have to be friends anymore.
-----
A few hours after their argument, Anne was preparing her armor and sword when a sensation shot up her spine from the small of her back, sharp and tingly. It made her drop her sword's scabbard, and rub her back when she realized what she was touching. Her mark. That... That can't be right. The last words any human had told her came from--
She paled. Dashing into the Plantar household and into the bathroom. Her back faced the mirror as she lifted her shirt, reading the words scribbled on her skin. After years of practice, she'd become an expert at reading mirrored words. What was there confirmed her fear.
Don't worry, because soon you won't be dealing with me any longer.
Anne gasped. Running out of the house, she burst into Sasha's tent. Empty. No armor, no swords, no Sasha. Just a bed, with furs and clothes on top. Shit.
She hurriedly walked outside, to the forest looking for a giant bird, only to find a peg in the ground. Fuck! She took Minerva, the giant owl she'd tamed during the war. Goddamn owls and their fucking silent wings.
Anne yelled in frustration and she ran towards Joe Sparrow, startling the poor bird as she angrily swiped her sword and scabbard and clipped it to her belt.
"Anne! What's going on?" Hop Pop yelled, hearing the commotion.
She clambered onto Joe's back, replying, "Sasha's gone."
"What!?" It was Grime who exclaimed.
"She took Minerva with her. I know where she is. I'll bring her back. Alone."
"But Anne," Sprig said.
"Alone Sprig. I'll be fine."
"Promise us you'll come back."
"I will, HP."
"Bring her home, Anne," Grime huffed.
She nodded, steering Joe in the direction of Andrias' flying castle. Only to find it on the ground with no power. They carefully landed on one of the spires, cautious of guards or robots, but there was none.
"Stay here," she whispered to Joe, the surrounding quiet unsettling them both.
She slipped into the silent castle, using her powers to quickly check each room, finding destroyed or shut down robots. She found Minerva upon entering the throne, the bird feasting on the corpse of the king, his own flaming sword pierced through his chest. The bird looked at her, hooting as she acknowledged the human.
"Hello, Minerva," Anne whispered. "Where's your rider?"
The owl looked to a hole in a wall, stairs leading down to its depths. Minerva hooted again before continuing her meal.
Anne teleported down the stairs to the basement. Smashing the door open and freezing at the sight before her, her mind going blank.
Marcy, dressed in a wetsuit with numerous lines, was kneeling, back towards her. In front of the raven-haired girl was Sasha, lying on the ground, eyes closed with her blood pooling around her.
"You're too late," Marcy rasped. "She's long gone."
"I know. I felt it." "It was supposed to be the three of us, huh? Together forever, like we promised one another. Look how well that aged."
A bitter laugh escaped Marcy. She leaned forward, pressing a kiss to the fallen warrior's forehead.
Anne knelt beside her, looking at Sasha. "We should take her back."
"Ok."
-----
Anne stared at Sasha, stripped down to just her undershort and chest binder. A blanket lay over her, covering her legs and the hole in her stomach.
The brunette's eyes traced her dead soulmate's marks, one on her right bicep and another across her collarbone. Sasha was one of those who's never felt that soulmate-recognizing sensation, she was one of those who died first.
Her first mark, the one on her bicep, was simple. Just three little words, filled with anguish, sorrow and regret.
I'm so sorry.
And her second mark, wasn't. Eleven words filled with malice, disgust and hate.
I don't want to have to do anything with you anymore!
It made Anne feel a lot of things. Sadness at the loss. Anguish at the memory of pushing her away. Anger at the unfairness of it all. Nauseous as she watch one of the toads pull the sheet over their dead commander.
She left the tent, bitterly wondering, "Just what kind of fucked up love story do we have?"

I... am not proud of this. It’s messy as hell, but I still hope you guys enjoyed reading. Until next time!

‘Damn Memphis heat,’ the Colonel mumbled exasperatedly as he blotted his brow with his hanky once more. Tom Diskin looked at him apologetically even though he had no control over the weather, it wasn’t even his fault they were driving with the windows rolled up that had been the Colonel’s choice, a way of avoiding the fans crowded by the gates. There were always fans gathered there and most of the time the Colonel did engage with them out of courtesy but today was not the day for niceties.   ‘It sure is busy,’ Tom said as he navigated the car through the poorly parked vans and cars that littered the driveway. ‘Just drop me out front and find somewhere to park it,’ the Colonel said gesturing for Tom to pull up at the base of the steps which he did obediently. As the Colonel opened the door a rush of warm air hit him once more making those beads of sweat he had batted away not moments before return in an instant. He climbed out, taking a minute to mop his brow once more before he started to head inside. Before he could however a voice shouted his name, ‘hey Parker when is he coming out?’   The Colonel’s gaze travelled to the group of men standing just to the side of the steps, various pieces of equipment strewn around their small group from where they had gotten tired of waiting. At their friend’s words they all stopped to look at him.   ‘Yeah, we’ve been here hours,’ another man said, flicking his cigarette onto the lawn angrily which was followed by a murmur of angry agreements. The Colonel straightened up, offering them his most understanding look. ‘Soon gentleman,’ he said and before they could ask any further questions he carried on walking towards the house. A flurry of whispers broke out behind him, his name interspersed in the conversation frequently, though he didn’t let it phase him. After all, he had just as many questions as they did. That was why he was here.     He could still hear them as he reached the front door but once he stepped inside and shut it behind him they were gone. In fact, every noise was gone for a moment so much so he thought he was alone for a second but as he turned around he realised there were people inside, yet everything was still. People were sitting in the living room talking quietly amongst themselves though they looked up as he entered, both parties exchanging that uneasy sympathetic smile that everyone did when no one knew the appropriate greeting. Mary was bustling quietly in and out of the kitchen, laying out food for whoever wanted it though from the looks of things most of it remained untouched. And then sitting there on the stairs in front of him was Vernon.   He was slumped against the banister as if he needed that support to keep him upright. His face was ruddy and tear-stained, his shirt damp from where they had rolled off his chin and landed on his chest. He didn’t move when the Colonel entered. He didn’t even say hello. All in all, he looked like a broken man. And the Colonel could tell why. As he walked into the house he could hear it, heart-wrenching guttural sobs and wails coming from down the hall – Gladys and Vernon’s bedroom.   ‘Vernon,’ the Colonel said softly hobbling towards the man with his cane. Vernon looked up at him, not a flicker of energy to be seen on his face. Nevertheless, the Colonel pressed on, ‘Vernon, there are some fine folks from the press out front.’ ‘Are there?’ Vernon said indifferently. ‘Yes, and I was thinking...a few words…pictures…then they will leave us alone,’ the Colonel said trying to sound as sympathetic as possible, but Vernon didn’t do anything but shake his head gesturing to where Elvis’ inconsolable sobs were coming from down the hall. ‘He won’t,’ he said shakily, ‘I can't get him to do anything. No one can. He won't sleep. He won't eat. I keep asking myself what would she do?’ ‘Yes, he trusted her like nobody else and now she’s gone what does he have?’ the Colonel murmured. Vernon looked up at him exasperatedly as if he was missing something. ‘I don’t mean Lovie,’ he said as if it was obvious. The Colonel’s eyes narrowed for a moment before the meaning of what the other man was saying set in. ‘Vernon,’ the Colonel said shaking his head. ‘You have to admit it Colonel. She’d know what to do. He could do with her-’ ‘We agreed,’ the Colonel said angrily, ‘you agreed-’ ‘I know what we agreed but my wife wasn’t dead then!’ Vernon snapped loud enough a couple of heads turned away. He sighed and closed his eyes for a moment before he looked back at the Colonel pleadingly.   ‘I know what I said…but that was months ago. Everything’s different now,’ Vernon said holding in the sob that was inside him from fear it would reignite another round of crying he simply didn’t have the energy for, ‘I’m just asking you to try Colonel. Just try.’ ‘And if I can’t get hold of her?’ the Colonel asked stiffly. ‘Then you better hope he’ll listen to you,’ Vernon said flatly standing up. The two men looked at each other for a moment before the Colonel nodded ever so slightly signalling he had conceded. As Vernon walked into the living room and sat himself down next to his mother the Colonel sighed and started to head up the stairs towards Elvis’ private office. If he was going to do this, he was going to do it out of the way of any prying ears.   He had almost been home free. Elvis had adjusted to army life relatively well and the tabloids had eaten it up much to the Colonel’s delight. Not to mention that by the time the Colonel’s ‘no contact’ ban had lifted Elvis had been so preoccupied with his mother he’d barely had time to think about anything else. He had asked questions of course as the Colonel had anticipated but he’d been so malleable with worry the Colonel had been able to navigate through them with more ease than was he expected.   Now he was going to ruin it all. He supposed he didn’t have to but he couldn’t be sure Vernon wouldn’t come poking around after him. If the situation was going to be dealt with he was going to be the one to deal with. Besides he doubted she’d even still be there even if he had picked a school that let her board until the end of the year.   He sat down at the desk and reached into his pocket for his address book flicking through it to find the number he needed to call. He found it scribbled on a page at the back and though there was no information listed with it should anyone have cause to look through his book he knew that was the number. With a sigh, he picked up the phone and dialled. It rang for a while which didn’t surprise him, the offices were sure to be deserted given the time of year something that made him smile. Oh well, he could always say he tried and got nowhere but just as he was going to hang up the line clicked on a sweet southern voice answering.   ‘St Bernadette’s Boarding School for Girls, Mary-Ann speaking how can I help?’ the girl on the other of the phone said. ‘Uh, hello,’ the Colonel said gruffly as if he was annoyed that she had the audacity she had to answer the phone, ‘I was wondering if you could help me. I’m trying to get a hold of one of your students.’ ‘Well sir most of our students will have returned home for the summer by now I don’t know how feasible that will be,’ Mary-Ann replied. ‘It’s important,’ he said. ‘Oh, well I can have a look at our records. Some of them do remain on campus but I won't promise anything,’ she said, ‘could I have a name?’ ‘Addison Goodwin,’ he said. ‘Just bear with me for two seconds,’ she said. He muttered an agreement but he could hear she was already away from the phone. He could hear her flicking through pages of a book as she sat back down at her desk. After a moment he heard her pick it up and place it back to her ear.   ‘I’m sorry, I’m afraid I don’t have an Addison Goodwin listed here. Are you sure she was one of our students?’ she asked. ‘Well I've been paying her tuition since Christmas so I would hope so,’ the Colonel said snidely. ‘Oh,’ she said uncomfortably, ‘well just give me a second I’m sure there’s some explanation here.’   The Colonel sighed again and glanced at his watch. He didn’t have time for this. He had things to be doing, his mind drifting to reporters gathered outside waiting for any scrap of news though he supposed if he couldn’t get Elvis to go outside it didn’t matter much anyway. After a moment or so he heard her utter a soft, ‘oh.’ ‘What is it?’ he asked leaning forward at her tone. ‘It appears she was here,’ she said. ‘Yes, I know that silly girl but that’s not what I’m asking. I need to know where she is now,’ he snapped. ‘That’s the thing,’ Mary-Ann said nervously, ‘see she hasn’t been here since before our Easter term.’ ‘Do you know where she went?’ the Colonel asked hoping she wouldn’t have an answer. That had been what he had been hoping for all along, that she had taken off just like her mother. ‘It says here she was transferred,’ she said making nerves bubble inside him. ‘Transferred where?’ he asked. ‘I don’t think it’s my place to say,’ she said tentatively. ‘Is it your place to explain why your school has been cashing cheques for students that are no longer attending,’ the Colonel said angrily. ‘It’s not like that, she’s been transferred to our sister…school. I think it’s best I just patch you through they should be able to explain everything better than I can. Just don’t hang up the line,’ she said hurriedly and before the Colonel could protest he heard her click off, a series of buttons being pressed as she transferred the call. He should’ve just hung up. After all, he had tried to get hold of her, was it his fault if she was no longer there? But he was too curious to leave it be, so he held on.   ‘Hello,’ another voice said. She sounded older than the last girl, more matronly. ‘Hello who am I speaking to?’ he asked. ‘Sister Teresa. Can I help?’ she said. ‘I hope so. I’ve just been patched through here from St Bernadette’s I’m trying to locate one of their students. She informed me she’d been sent to your school instead,’ he said. ‘That’s not possible Sir,’ Sister Teresa said. ‘That’s what the girl told me,’ he said feeling irritation bubble inside him. ‘Well I don’t know what she’s told you but we’re not a school,’ she said sternly. ‘Then what have I been paying tuition for?’ he snapped. ‘Sir, if you have an issue with St Bernadette’s I suggest you call them back and take it up with them but this is not a school,’ she said. ‘Then what is it?’ he said. ‘This is a mother and baby home,’ she said, ‘hello? Sir?’   After one more call for him to answer she gave up, the dial tone ringing out as she hung up on him. The Colonel was silent. He had questions, millions of them, but they couldn’t make it past his lips his throat so dry they were stopped from escaping him. Mother and baby home. Baby.   The word didn’t seem real.   Dozens of scenarios whizzed through his mind. Could it be true? Was the woman from the school mistaken? He thought about it, trying to do the mental maths in his head. If there was a baby it would’ve more than likely been born and surely she would’ve come back by now if she intended for Elvis to know. No, if she hadn’t come back yet there was a good chance she was going to stay away for good. At least that was what he hoped. Whatever good PR Gladys’ death would bring would surely be washed away at the sniff of a baby out of wedlock.   After a moment he seemed to realise that he was still holding the phone and though he didn’t know how long he’d been sitting there in shock but the fact that the dial tone was no longer there signalled a while. He placed it back on its nook and paused pondering what he was going to do. It didn’t take him long to decide.   When he got downstairs Vernon was by the living room door mid conversation with someone but he looked towards the Colonel expectantly all the same. The Colonel didn’t say anything but he shook his head silently making the hope in Vernon’s eyes snuff out immediately though he nodded in recognition his gaze flickering up the hall towards his bedroom.   The Colonel nodded.   He headed down the hall pausing at the door to the bedroom for a moment before he ducked inside. Though Elvis’ sobs were still able to be heard from inside the bedroom they were no longer the wracking inconsolable ones that the Colonel had walked in on. He pushed the closet door open gently. Elvis didn’t even look up as the door swung open, his face buried in one of his mother's dresses, his body practically curled around it as if he was trying to let the scent of her consume him. At this, the Colonel faltered.   He looked broken. Utterly and completely wrecked and it was heart-breaking to watch.   He was broken from his thoughts as Elvis mumbled something. He didn’t know if it was directed to him, he didn’t even know if Elvis had registered he was even in the room but he heard it all the same, ‘come back Satnin.’   ‘My boy,’ the Colonel said sadly. Elvis looked towards him, finally acknowledging he there though he didn’t say anything, the tears continuing to fall silently down his cheeks. The Colonel didn’t know where to put himself. Tough love seemed like the wrong approach. In fact, any approach seemed like the wrong approach but he had to do something. He had to get him out of this room.   ‘My boy,’ he repeated moving tentatively towards him and offering a hand out, ‘my boy you need to come out of here.’ ‘I can’t,’ Elvis said shaking his head as he buried his face back in his mother’s dress once more. ‘Your daddy needs help. He’s trying the best he knows how to but he is overwhelmed. He needs you out there,’ the Colonel said. ‘No, I can't go out there,’ he said looking up at him with tears in his bloodshot blue eyes before he added brokenly, ‘I just wanna stay in here forever.’ ‘Oh I know, I know you feel like this right now. I know you feel as though you will never be right again but things will get better. They won't be easy but I will be there to help with whatever it is you need. Tell me and I’ll make it happen,’ he said. ‘Bring her back,’ Elvis whispered. ‘If only I could,’ he said leaning down to place a hand on the boy's shoulder, ‘anything else I can do I will. Whatever you need.’ ‘Addison,’ he whispered quietly. The Colonel paused the words of the nun popping into his head once more. ‘I don’t think,’ the Colonel said hesitantly. ‘She mustn’t know. If she did, she’d be here. I know it,’ Elvis said looking at the Colonel imploringly. ‘Or maybe she does and she’s choosing to stay away,’ the Colonel said making Elvis’ face crumple once more, ‘after all it is times like these where we see who truly cares for us. Now your mother, she cared for you like no other and I know if she had a choice she would not have left you. And whilst I know no one could ever replace her I promise that from now on I will try my best to do everything she would’ve done. Anything she would have done; I will carry out in her name. While you are overseas I'll stay home, and I will work and I will worry while you serve your time in the Army.’   Elvis looked at him and though he didn’t respond he allowed the older man to guide him to his feet, ‘but you also have your part to play. You must stand by your [papa, comfort him, comfort your friends, family, and even your fans. Because if you don't, then all your Mama sacrificed for you will have been for nothing... Trust me.’   Elvis seemed to let his words digest for a moment before he nodded gently and then in a move that surprised the older man he lay his head on his shoulder. ‘No matter what happens, stay with me through thick or thin, okay?’ he said in a heartbroken whisper. The Colonel hesitated for just a second before he moved his hands to the boys back holding him as gingerly as he could as the boy continued to weep.   ‘I don’t have anyone else,’ Elvis said quietly. ‘You have me my boy,’ the Colonel said, ‘you have me.’

Okay, here a some reasons why add some Disney Characters and locations in Amphibia: Calamity War…..
• Mickey Mouse
The reason I add Mickey and his friends is because not only that he lives Toontown that’s close to Hollywood, but it was all started with a mouse when I made a prologue where Anne, Sasha, and Marcy as younger kids when through the looking glass at the art museum where they ended up in the Sorcerer’s Workshop and I’m planning to adding the part where Mickey and Friends dressed up in sorcerer outfit for promotional of D23 Expo in 2011.
That’s how Mickey discovered the girls and escort them back to the museum and promised them to keep a secret. Eight years later when Mickey made an announcement for search party when they heard the rumors, but then there’s a flash and they witnessed that Anne and the Plantars lying unconscious until they woke up and see where they at now and that’s why both Anne and Mickey know each other.
• Stitch
Here’s another reason why I add Stitch to be part of my fan story is because it involves frog. When Stitch crash landed in Hawaii during the rain, he encountered with a frog and pointing out his laser guns at it which he didn’t understand until he got ran over by some trucks.
During the flight chase when Stitch fell out from Gantu’s ship and land fainted right next to frog that he encountered. The frog jumped on Stitch and looked up in the curiously while Stitch woke up. He grab the frog and jumped out of the way before being blasted by Gantu. He set the frog down and prepare to grab the truck while the frog hops away.
That’s when I’ll add the part of the chapter where Stitch first encountered with Anne and Sprig since he familiar with frogs and started to grown fond of Sprig thus making Anne laugh at him in a cute way.
• Phineas and Ferb
Another reason is why do you ask? For example, if Phineas and Ferb The Movie came out in 2020 on Disney Plus, why not I add the cast of Tri-State Area at “Walt Disney Studios” as they retelling their story where Candace and Vanessa was abducted by aliens meaning Phineas, Ferb, Isabella, Baljeet, Buford, and Doofenshmirtz have to go into space and rescue the girls from the aliens clutches.
I can also add the part of the chapter where Anne and Sprig have met the kids at the studio while went looking for Polly.
• Gravity Falls
For those who are big fan of Gravity Falls already knows that Bill Cipher made cameo appearances at beginning of “True Colors” where Marcy is reading the book of “Dr. P’s”.
If my theory is correct either Stanford Pines or the Plantars ancestors. Also I’m going to add the part where Dipper and Mabel meet Anne at her house to talk about the history of the multiverse like Amphibia for example.
• Timon and Pumbaa
There’s one thing that you should be aware of. One, Timon and Pumbaa are my favorite characters from The Lion King and two, the reason that I will add them in my fan story was because not just for bugs that they like to eat, but they are the best of friends who will do anything for any characters.
This part of the chapter where Timon and Pumbaa met Anne and Sprig in the park when she’s feeling down about her past. They taught her to put her past behind her and sings Hakuna Matata to her. And also for bugs, Sprig told them that there are plenty of bugs from Amphibia and they were amazed for all the buffet they can eat, except some giant bugs that are pets or dangerous beasts.
• Princess and the Frog
Now that you’re aware when both Tiana and Naveen have been turned into frogs thanks to Dr. Facilier’s spell and they have to learn to work together and soon they fall in love once they kissed, the spell is broken.
For future chapter when Tiana had met Anne and the Plantars when they are at the park and sings “Dig A Little Deeper” to Anne about her memories from the past. Speaking of the shadow man, he was voice played by Keith David who voiced many characters including King Andrias.
• Disney Villains
The reason why I add most villains is because not just that is like from “Kingdom Hearts” or “Kingdom Keepers”, but is kinda like from a night show called “Villains Unite the Night” at the Magic Kingdom during Disney Villains After Hours. The villains I will add as main antagonists are Maleficent, The Queen, Ursula, Dr. Facilier, Jafar, Hades, and Chernabog.
Also the reasons why I add Maleficent as the main antagonist in my fan story since she was voiced by Susanne Blakesee who voiced many characters including Valeriana from Amphibia and also that part how Maleficent became obsessed with the Calamity Box that can travel to another world or another.
• Disneyland
And now that you already know when the original Disneyland was first opened in California. That gives me an idea when Anne and her parents took the Plantars with to visit Disneyland not just for fun, but keeping her happy from being sad since she recalls what happened back in Amphibia. If only I wish it was real for the future episodes for next year.
Now that’s why I became obsessed with crossover back when I was a kid and I hope you understand what I am saying. Please let me know if you ask me questions and there will be NO hate comments or offensive image. I’ll let you know when I’m ready to published my fan story at FanFiction website. See yah soon.

Although much has changed for NCIS as the CBS mainstay enters its 19th season, the plan is to give faithful fans the familiar show they have long known and loved.
Among the on- and off-screen shifts: Two characters were written out last spring, a pair of series regulars have been added for fall, Gibbs’ suspension took a deadly turn when he and his new boat went boom…. And on top of all of that, TV’s most watched drama has been handed its first time slot change ever, moving from Tuesday’s leadoff spot to Mondays at 9/8c (beginning Sept. 20).
TVLine spoke with showrunner Steven D. Binder about navigating this transition, bringing the big orange room’s “band back together,” and inviting fans to rediscover a familiar favorite when they now tune in on Monday nights. (Tiny bits of this Q&A have previously appeared in TVLine scoop and Fall Preview columns.)
TVLINE | We said goodbye last season to Jack (played by Maria Bello) and to Bishop (Emily Wickersham). You have since added Katrina Law full time, as well as Gary Cole, and we’re reportedly getting a bit less Mark Harmon. How does this season rank as far as the challenge of transitioning? The biggest transitions we’ve had to face were last season — trying to find a fitting end to the Jack Sloane character and then a fitting end to the Emily Bishop character. Now, Katrina’s here, so we’re getting a chance to get to know [Agent Jessica Knight], but as you might imagine, there’s some cleanup work we have to do based on the season finale that takes precedence over the more subtle character moments. Gibbs blew up in his boat, so we’re not going to open up with light banter in the squad room.
TVLINE | How much time has lapsed since Gibbs went boom? We’re going to go fairly real time. We decided it’s too interesting of a moment to skip ahead of unless you’ve got a really good reason to do that, and we didn’t.
TVLINE | As I noted after the finale, Gibbs swam away on his own volition after “playing dead” for what seemed to be a purposeful amount of time. Did I read that right? Yeah. We shot a lot of different things for that and there were a lot of different ways to cut it, and what we left with was something that we felt in many ways left all possibilities open. You see someone swimming away with purpose but he was pretty badly injured. Just speaking from experience, I got nailed by a car when I was 10, and if asked me how I was doing, I’d tell you I’m fine, and I wasn’t fine. So, all things are still possible with Gibbs. He’s not dead and we know he’s able to swim well enough to do that broad stroke we saw, but any number of levels of injury were possible for him at that point.
TVLINE | Is there anything else you can share about what Gibbs is up to when Season 19 opens? Well, he’d been hunting down a serial killer, with a reporter (Marcie, played by Pam Dawber) who doesn’t really necessarily have the tools to deal with a serial killer. And he’s been cut off from his team, from that portion of his world. In the beginning episodes, that’s going to change. We’re going to “bring the band back together” to some degree so they can do what we have liked watching for 20 years, which is these people solving crimes together.
TVLINE | It was made very clear that Gary Cole’s character, FBI Special Agent Alden Park, is not “replacing” Gibbs. But is he there to fill a void as “the well-seasoned law enforcement agent”? This is something I’d been saying we should do for a very long time, and when I took over as showrunner it was like, “We’re going to do this” — and then we just didn’t for a little while. I have been saying that we need to populate more characters in this show, in the vein of Joe Spano who plays Fornell, Muse Watson who plays Mike Franks…. The way you get those people who are really fantastic characters is you bring people in and you try them out and you see how it goes.
That was what initially motivated [the casting of] Katrina [Law]. With Gary Cole, you can almost imagine [that Agent Park] may be too close to Fornell in a lot of ways — he’s from the FBI, he’s in the same demo — but that was the initial impetus for bringing in characters. And we’re trying to do that this season with a little more forcefulness, bringing in people in the building who you haven’t necessarily seen but you know have been there doing stuff. And if something clicks, we’re like “OK, let’s bring that person back.”
TVLINE | But now some fans are worried that we won’t see Fornell again. I can tell you that we will be seeing Fornell for as long as Joe Spano would like to be on the show. He’s just fantastic. We have him at least in one [Season 19 episode] and possibly more. Possibly more.
TVLINE | What do you want to say about Mark Harmon’s reportedly reduced presence as Gibbs this season? I’d say that a lot of things are reported on the show that aren’t necessarily true. We are focusing right now on telling the best stories we can with the characters we have, and Gibbs is a part of that world, and I think we’re doing a pretty good job with that. It’s a little more complicated under the COVID regulations we’re under again, but one of things that we felt was missing in the last half of last season was that we had broken our band up and we wanted to get them back together. That’s really what we’re focusing on now.
TVLINE | I’m surprised to hear you say that, because it sounds like Gibbs might become some form of team leader again. I will tell you that it’s not necessarily in a form or shape you might have expected. It’s not typical, but it will be something that is ultimately really enjoyed.
TVLINE | What’s the aftermath of Bishop abruptly peacing out on Nick and us? It would be a really sad commentary on the Nick Torres character for her to just disappear like that and have it not affect him in some way. It could affect you in a lot of ways — you can be generally affected, you could be walking around telling everyone you’re fine and clearly you’re not…. But Nick Torres is tough exterior, soft interior, and we get a look at that soft interior.
TVLINE | Can you clarify what Ellie meant by when she said to Nick, “I didn’t mean for us to happen”? Was that not necessarily their first kiss? I think there have been hints dropped along the ways that that was not their first kiss. And you will get some more hints of the extent of their relationship. Normal people might leave toothbrushes at the other one’s house, but Nick Torres might do things a little differently! You’ll get more clarification on exactly how far that relationship might have gone, although, as you could guess, when consenting boy adult meets consenting girl adult, and they like each other, things happen.
TVLINE | Once you’re done with the early-season “cleanup work,” will NCIS return to a typical Case of the Week format? That’s the other thing we talked a lot about, and I will tell you that after we put some of these things to bed that we have been running with for a while, one of the things we said to ourselves was, “Let’s get back to some interesting cases without any overarching arcs.” Out of 400-plus episodes, 360 of them are described that way, but we’ve been not doing that for a while, so I think it’s time for us to sort of regroup and get back to telling good mysteries of the week with interesting characters, interesting stories, emotional hooks, and a satisfying ending.
TVLINE | Was going back to that trusted formula especially important with a brand-new time slot? So that if and when people do find you, they’re getting something familiar? That could be a reason we would give, and it’s great that it worked out that way. As a writer working with writers, some of us are eager to get back to doing the things that we know. When we get off brand, that’s not what our training is in. Sometimes you get the more interesting episodes that way, because people get pushed past their comfort zones, but I think we’re all feeling it, too, that want to go back to what works. It’s a new time slot, so let’s not make everything new right now.
TVLINE | Any germ of an idea yet for doing a crossover with NCIS: Hawai’i at some point, to bridge the two shows on Monday night? You know, I thought we left some good stuff on the table by not doing more of those in the past. I would love to do something like that, especially if I wrote it and got to fly to Hawaii while it was shot!
TVLINE | Hey, only if I in turn get to do a set visit. [Laughs] Exactly. We haven’t discussed it yet, but I’ve worked with and known [NCIS: Hawai’i co-showrunner/former NCIS co-EP] Chris Silber for a really long time, so that always makes those sorts of things easier.
TVLINE | Lastly, is there any contingency plan in your back pocket in case someone decides that this is NCIS‘ farewell season? There’s really a couple possibilities here. One is that we get cancelled tomorrow and then there’s nothing to be “contingent” about. The other option is that Gibbs is either solving cases in his 90s, or he gets a gold watch and retires. Neither of those things sound interesting to me, but at some point in time when that happens, if we find ourselves still on the air and people are thinking of retiring, you have to think about something befitting that character — and a gold watch ain’t it. But we’re not really thinking too hard at this moment about such things.
TVLINE | A handful of fans have been very doom-and-gloom, bleating “they’re putting the show out to pasture!” with a time slot change and all. I’m like, it’s TV’s most watched drama; it’s not going to lose its entire audience because of a time slot change. That’s our reaction, too. When a show is on the bubble and the time slot changes, it’s usually to Sunday at 10 pm, and that’s not what we got. We got Monday, an hour later.
TVLINE | And you’re leading out of two solid sitcoms, and teeing up a buzzy new drama. That’s right. We’re always the one leading in for everybody else, so I’m somewhat excited to be the show that gets a lead-in!
TVLINE | It’s pretty crazy, man. Nineteen years without a time slot change. Yeah. Like you said, it’s a No. 1 one show, plus it’s 2021, not 1921. People watch TV differently now. As someone said to me, “Oh, it’s just going to be available a night earlier?” These days it’s not all about when a show drops. But you can watch it when it drops, and now it will be available to watch a night earlier, that’s how they thought of it.

Amphibia: Ivy on The Run and After the Rain Reviews
Tumblr media
Hello all you happy people! We’re into week two and after far too long we finally get some answers.. well okay not the ones we thought we were getting but hey you take what you get sometimes. Point is it’s a big week, with a fun ivycentric episode that fleshes her and Felcia out and a far more serious episode that finally explains a few things, not saying what things because spoilers. So join me under the cut for some smiles, some tears, and a bit of Muay Thai and Myagi-Do as I break things down.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ivy on the Run:
I was pleased as punch to find out Ivy was getting an episode. While I couldn’t say she was a faviorite of mine, I always found Katie Crowns performance exceptional, and her a delight to watch. The character wasn’t bad.. but EVERY episode up to this one involving her was about her and Sprig’s relationship which while really fucking precious left little room to flesh her out beyond a love of ambushes and being into the same kid stuff Sprig was into.
This episode not only corrects that but also takes another suprising leap for the series in having Ivy clearly be the main character of the episode. While this isn’t the first episode to spotlight a citzen of wartwood.. it’s the first where the Plantars are side characters in the plot instead of just as important as whoever got focus or usually more important. Here Ivy is the lead of the episode: We open on her waking up for the day (Or rather having been awake for hours to trick her alarm clock), get a sense of her personality.. and of the episodes conflict: Ivy’s desire to be free and explore versus her mothe’rs constnat anal renttientve insistence she do tea related stuff like fold swans properly. IT’s a decent enough conflict that gets elevated by hte twist at the end.
So she runs out after that to meet up with Sprig, and ambush him because that’s how thier relationship works. And what I really like here is while their relationships still present in the episode it’s thankfully not the focus or even realy lreated. Their clearly together, it’s just not the focus of the episode> Just some nice ranch dressing atop this salad. While they go to hunt for glitter beetles, Anne is teaching Polly, Muay Thai. The martial art of champions.. specifically one eyed ones who like to put tiger in front of their moves. As for why she took it up her mom wanted somewhere to put her energy, as seen in a flashback with a young Anne adorably banging on pans while singing her own version of Wannabe by the Spice Girls. It’s fucking precious.
So the couple happily go beetle hunting i’ts precious.. but Ivy’s patience with her mother starts to run out as her mother loudly interupts her hunt to return her for tea practice: stirring it, setting tables, folding swans that sorta thing. All things she clearly dosen’t WANT to do or like and gives the impression Felcia is trying to force her daughter to become more like her and less like herself which... no. Just no.
Ivy eventually hits her limit with this bullshit, tells her mother off and then stomps off to her room whiel her Mom fails ot understand that MAYBE being hypercirtical of your daughter, even if it turns out you have a good reason, might backfire. Ivy is encouraged by her posters, great scene by the way, to run away and leave town, and take Sprig with her.. whose relcutant as he talked himself up as being really well liked and savy out there but was just okay in practice.
Meanwhile Polly and Anne continue training but Polly can’t get it as she just can’t calm down and focus, and Anne easily blocks her. In constrast Wally shows up, having apparently been watching them.
Tumblr media
And picks it up instantly. I can see why; Wally seems a bit scatterbrained due to his weird and wonderful nature.. but we’ve seen him be entirely capable when the chips are down, and to be a talented musician. So while he’d SEEM like he’d lack focus, it’s probably way easier to him than the impatient tadpole who just wants to kick ass without getting it takes a few steps.
Meanwhile Sprig tries to talk his girlfriend out of running away together at 10 only for Sylvia to tail them with those bee phone things she used earlier.. and also be there, as once they clear those out she’s waiting and both end up at the Muay Thai class. Things finally hit their breaking point and Ivy wishes she never had family... and I think this is what finally gets it in Felicia’s head she messed up. She meant well.. but sh’es clearly been so hard on her child that, even if she instnatnly regrets it, she’s willing to disown her own mother if it means getting away from her.
So Felica gives her a way out: Martial Arts Match. Because nothing says parental love like fighting your daughter for her freedom. Though in her defense things are pretty fair: three matches, and Ivy just needs to win ONE by getting a point on her, like in a martial arts competition. I only know that’s what they were going for because I binged Cobra Kai last month along with the first two Karate Kids.
And that refrence isn’t for nothing as Felcia easily dominates the first two matches using Miyagi-Do esque moves i.e. pure defense, and with a Miyagi style lesson inside as for the final one.. she has Ivy repeat the various tea things she’d had her do, and just like that amazing fucking scene from Karate Kid, Ivy can now fight and realizes her mother was training her the whole time, as her mom simply wanted her to be readly and as for why Felcia herself is a karate master, she picked it up while gathering tea as naturally it’s incredibly dangerous in amphibia.
So Felcia let’s her daughte win and expalins she just wanted her to be safe.. which is nice but while her devistaiton earlier clearly shows it, it still dosen’t QUITE justify how hard she was or not telling her why when her daughter is a clear tomboy. I do get the Miyagi-Do training style: it builds muscle memory and means you can defend without thinking, fight without having to plan every punch and kick. It’s brilliant.. but you have to match the training to the student. Daniel hated his traning too.. but Miyagi clearly KNEW he would, knew he’d give out and set it all up that way. Felcia.. nearly pushed her daughter into running away and never apologized. It’s not all terrible as there is the implciation this whole match was Felcia realizing she had to make it clera what she was doing, but it’s still fairly torubling the episode never adresses her behavior outright., even if they make up and Felciia plans to take her along next time. Also Polly punches wally in the face... eh he’l lbe fine.
Final Thoughts on Ivy on the Run: This one was decent. As said the final part feels a bit... ehhh..as it feels they don’t adress Felicia’s controlling attitude enough.. but it dosen’t detract from a pretty fun episode, especially the Muay Thai stuff. That was an unexpected treat. And let’s face it after recently getting in deep with the franchise thanks to cobra kai, I can’t hate anything that reminds me of  the Karate Kid. In a good way at least.

After The Rain:
Well this was both a long time coming and as painful as I expected. And after over a year and a half, we FINALLY get some answers.. not ALL the answers but some. Look you know what this episode is about, I know what this episode is about, let’s get cracking in round 2.
So Anne’s got a letter, anne’s got a letter I wonder who it’s from. Marcy.. it’s from Marcy. Turns out she’s ready to go to the first temple, and even sent them a check list: weapons, food (check and check) and armor. Hop Pop already thought of that.. but instead of badass and practical armor.. it’s padded sumo suits that they can’t move in because “less mobility means less trouble”. Or you’ll get eaten by a hawk.. which given this show is probably also on fire and can shoot acid out of its’ eyes. Or lasers. Or acid lasers. The point is their gonna die. THey also naturally need the music box... which Hop Pop about craps himself hearing. Gee it’s almost like not getting the box sooner when you knew damn well abotu the temple thing and that they’d need it kinda bit you on the froggy bottom Hopidiah.
It gets worse for him as while he mentions his ‘contacts” again.. that night he goes to dig it up. Problem is, Anne follows him when she hears footsteps, and while she initially assumes i’ts just him being a weirdo and plans to suprise him... we instead get the gut punch we’ve been anticpating for the last year and a half.  Hop Pop shouts about the box being gone, clearly panicked... and Anne hears him, utterly devistated and rightfully FURIOUS. He confesses the truth, clearly feeling guilty for what he’s done and lying all this time but Anne dosen’t want to hear it and storms off.

Yeah as you can tell this is a rough one. So next morning Hop Pop, who clearly hasn’t slept and given his surrogate grandaughter just rightfully walked out on him why would he, confesses to the kids what he did. And while neither like what he did .. they prioritize getting Anne back, sending him to go fix his mess while they find the box.
The box turns out to not be the only thing missing: various other things around town have been stolen, including a talisman that if Maddie dosen’t get it back will have horrifying consequences. Classic Maddie. As for why Swampy Joe has the answer: the magpie beetle, a beetle that emerges once every 20 years to steal stuff to use as a shell to impress mates. They find the box.. but it’s in a seatle of beatles and soon get swamped.  Meanwhile Anne’s returned to the cave and... okay i’m just going to have to power through or this episodes going to kill me with sadness. After some bits about her and her rock rocky, Hop Pop finds her and she still has nothing to say to him, again for good reaosn, but before he can get to telling her WHY he did it, they hear the others crying for help and Anne tries to rescue them herself, only helping hop pop do so when he points out they NEED to and even if she rightfully dosen’t trust him she needs to for now. THey save the kids.. and Anne STILL wants to leave.
We then get an even bigger gut punch. It turns out Hop Pop didn’t hide the box for some big reveal.. regarding the box. Turns out it’s not the box itself, his book just says it’s dangerous and w’ell likely find out any specifics it had next week. It’s Hop Pop’s lingering trauma. While we don’t find out why the Box is dangerous.. we do find out what hapepned to their parents. And I just want to say before we get into that Bill Farmer’s acting this WHOLE episode is some of hte finest, if not THE finest in his career. HIs guilt, his pain.. it’s all so raw and palpable. Brenda Song’s no slouch either, Anne’s pain and anger is likewise very well done, but Bill is far and away the mvp of the episode.. and this scene is why.
He reveals he’s been so cautious, so scared for the kids and so overly protective in general.. because of how the kids parents died, something they don’t blame him for but he does: He was out of town on buisness.. when a pair of herons attacked. Sprig and Polly got to the family bunker in time.. their parents... weren’t so lucky. It’s not the big bombastic arc related death we all thought was coming.. but I like it for it’s brutal nightmarish simplicity. They didn’t die some heroic death, they aren’t still here.. they just died like SO MANY background frogs have. Two wild giant animals they coudln’t possibly defend against got em. Nothing could’ve been done no matter what Hop Pop thinks, theirs no way they coudl’ve been saved, and i’ts LUCKY their children didn’t share the same fate. But their gone and it gives a new, awful meaning to Hop Pop’s overproectivness. Before it was mildly justified if a bit strict.. now.. i’ts him trying not to loose what he has left. Trying to hold on tight to his grandkids so he dosen’t loose anyone else.
He hid the box because his trauma and guilt were so severe he did something very stupid, and regretted it ever since and begs anne to forgive him in THE best line read of Bill Farmer’s long and storied career. And she does, hugging her Hop Pop gently, realizing that while he fucked up.. she gets WHY he did.. and that he’s sorry for it. He wasn’t tyring to keep her from going home or any messed up shit.. he just was trying to keep her and his other kids alive. And as Sprig and Polly say it’s not his fault, it never could’ve been.. he can’t help but feel that way. You just feel.. powerless when you loose someone, like you could’ve done something even though 9/10 you couldn’t have and it leaves a hole you never quite fill. So this hit like a truck. But our family is reconclied and the kids get a look at the entry in  Hop Pop’s ancestral book. What does it say besides it bad? what does this mean? We’ll find out next week. For now it’s just good to have them all together again.
Final Thoughts on After the Rain: This episode is a masterpiece. It’s exepertly crafted, sticks in a few gags for flavor and only has the sprig and polly plot to help keep the main meat of the plot as light as it needs to be.. and it works. The few scenes we get with Anne and Hop Pop are just plain brutal and exactly what’s needed. It’s one of the series best, painful, raw and with a twist I dind’t see coming. I expected, again like most of us for the kdis parents deaths to be tied into it.. but instead.. it’s just trauma. But it’s satisfying enough that it feels like a great payoff, that it wasn’t some big dark secret like misdirected... it was just an old man who didn’t want to loose what family he had left. And that’s fucking brilliant.
Next Week: THE FIRST TEMPLE BABY! The Plantars and Marcie head into the woods to fight moblins and ggghosts! I mean.. that is what the forest temple is right?
