A shifting of the rubble on the street up ahead broke Gigantomachia out of his musing, and he tensed, readying to face an enemy. There was a strange pattering, like that of little feet, as he drew closer, and Machia raised his fists, squaring his shoulders as—

A small child walked into view.

He stared in confusion for a long moment, his stance briefly relaxing. But when the child—maybe around four years old or so—looked up at him, Machia’s entire body went rigid once more.

He knew those blank eyes. That soulless stare.

Even on a face much younger than Machia had ever seen it, All For One’s visage was unmistakable.

afo has been taking quirks since the moment he was born, he's always felt an urge to take as given the nature of his quirk and due to circumstances he was born in he's had to constantly take from others so he can survive

but when did he exactly first learn he can give them too? because giving quirks is a whole different aspect than taking, but it's also an important part of how the all for one quirk functions.

did he ever have any urge to give a quirk which confused him, did he only begin utilizing that aspect of his quirk after he realized giving things to others can be used as a means of control? did he only start giving them to get new followers to join his cause? or did he give any before then? who was the first person he gave a quirk to and what were the circumstances that led to him doing so?

machia and yoichi, you say 👀 could you tell us more about this ship, please? i smell a lot of fun here - they both were close to afo, had some emotional attachment to him, experienced extreme violation of their body autonomy because of it, however they had very... well. rough start. but any romantic relationships between them would be based on something more than constant manipulations, lying and lust, i bet

My thoughts are more half-shaped vibes than coherent sentences but I'll do my best. I see two main sets of options for this ship

1- where they do indeed have a very rough start lol. Machia is one of the few trusted with the Vault's location and purpose and brings food when AfO is too busy elsewhere, and sometimes they talk- neither of them think very highly of the other, but I think actual conversation could break out after Yoichi asks where his brother is when it's been longer than usual since he visited, and Machia picks at the concern in his voice, to Yoichi's protests. Yoichi would also ask his name and not get it, but two days later realize Machia never refers to him by name either. "I'm Yoichi, by the way." And Machia never heard his name out of AfO's lips before (never heard AfO's name either, though, surely he doesn't need it, to serve his lord...) but something's gotta shift then, even if it isn't much. Perhaps it is something different, to hold down someone for force feeding when you know their name. (Something different when he shot an angry look at you first, for telling AfO about the hunger strike, even though you aren't the one who got him locked down here and he was skinny enough before-). Also I don't think Yoichi is actively trying to seduce his guard to escape (which is also something fun but anyway less so here) BUT he does have this urge in him. This "I can fix him" urge, or maybe this "I can save him" urge is a better way to put it. Also, Machia had to have seen a lot of quirk exchanges, thefts, and rewards in his time guarding AfO. He's also not that dumb. I don't think it'd be too much of a stretch for him to begin to pick up on the different reaction to someone without a power getting one, someone with a power getting another one that merges, and someone with a power getting another one that overwhelms them. So after Yoichi has a power forced onto him, I think Machia might be one of the ones who realizes what happened first- even if he's in denial, thinks it could be an unusual reaction because Yoichi's body was weaker than expected, surely AfO would know if he has a quirk and they merged together- but after reporting the reaction to AfO, who suddenly can't take it back out of Yoichi, well... clearly AfO isn't perfect. I don't know if it would go fully romantic before Yoichi's rescue from the vault but I think it could be heading that direction. And, Machia would feel guilty enough for Yoichi being taken from the vault even though he was guarding AfO at the time as ordered, more so if Yoichi dies soon after. Guilty and grieving enough to submit to AfO giving him more powers, even as it hurts while they're still merging, he'll survive it, get stronger, never notice how much of his mind AfO clawed back under his control, how little he thinks of Yoichi years later.

2- the second option is that they actually had a rough end. This is one where Machia was Yoichi's friend first, and AfO suffered a bad case of "can't let him have his own toys". Perhaps Yoichi started out as a villain, or closer to it, and recruited Machia in. Perhaps they were friends when younger. Either way, AfO slowly gets in between them, charismatic and manipulative. Maybe seems a more capable villain than Yoichi, who gives Machia powers while Yoichi keeps losing the forest for the trees, trying to ensure each lower member of the group is in the right spot, helped in return, something Machia had appreciated when it benefited him early on, found good, but now finds irritating, as AfO clearly does. Or perhaps Yoichi was always too sweet, and AfO poked and prodded about how he needed more protection, about how only he had the power to do more, speaking of things Yoichi couldn't understand but they, the metas, could. And then it's easy to join, and easy to be betrayed when Yoichi tries to leave. After all, if he'd turn on his own beloved family, who was there before you were, of course he'd turn on you too eventually, and maybe you were more of a project to him than a partner- memories easily rewritten, when pretty green eyes are glaring at your fiercely as if you're the traitor, when you never left, carrying him down to the vault (gently, as ordered, even though you know Yoichi could handle more than his brother's protective instincts want to admit.) And then he doesn't even say anything to you again, never- not in the vault, not after, not when he's dead.

There is beauty and cruelty in the man known as All for One. Extending a hand to those crawling in the dirt he flashes the smile that even the buddha could envy. Possibly if had been treated kinder this man could possibly have become a true messiah. Using these powers for things good and righteous. 

None of that was here. Only a flight of fancy.

Here sat a dark messiah downing himself in cocktails like a hedonist as his bodyguard sat at his side. The bodyguard, Machia, stood beside him nursing a drink that his master had graciously handed to him. It was far too much for All for One, likely he had shut off the anti-poison quirks in his system to enjoy it.

"You're so quiet Machia," All for One purred. The voice he only shows when he gets to this point. Anyone mistaking this as a moment of weakness would learn very quickly from that mistake. As that drunken smile was as inviting as a cat exposing its underside waiting for an excuse to rip open your guts.

Previous bodyguards have learned that even at his most vulnerable this man will kill you. Not that Machia would even consider such a thing.

"I apologize, my lord. I'm just trying to give you peace to drink like you asked," the man excused. Trying his best not to look down at the other's unbuttoned shirt as the man sits up. As was clearly unbuttoning it with every second knowing the power he has in this. The false appearance of vulnerability as those hands moved down until the man's chest is exposed.

Gigantomachia had to swallow his saliva when his eyes glanced over his lord's form.

"Ha, you're surprisingly serious for someone so devoted."

This was said with amusement as All for One placed his glass down on the table beside him. Then he makes a gesture for Machia to lean down with his finger. And like an obedient dog, he leans down wondering if he wanted to whisper something in his ear.

A mistake.

A low growl escaped All for One as he reaches up to grab at the other's face with quite a bit of force. Machia hisses at the force as was held roughly in a superhuman grasp. All for One stands to his feet with a gaze of contempt as if Machia was some bug. While Machia wondered what sleight had he done?

"I didn't ask for your excuse. I don't care if all you have to say is a stupid spiel like how great I am or some nonsense that doesn't matter. If you don't wish to speak to me then why even be here?" 

Those words were of a man who has no trust in anyone. Willing to fake friendliness but with a heart as cold as ice. Machia grits his teeth and tries to form words despite the pressure on his face. To state that he isn't trying to create offense-

Then he senses the other's thumb brushing against his lips. It was soft, almost gentle even and it seems All for One's gaze softened. The grip was no longer a vice grip threatening to pop his head at the slightest sleight.

"My Lord," he starts now that the grip loosened staring at the man in front of him with admiration. Because he was strong, this man had the power to make him bend unlike anyone else. "You truly are amazing if you wish for me to sing your praise then I will. You only needed to have asked."

This seemed to bring a smile to his lord's face. It looked almost genuine as if those were the things he wished to hear.

"Hm, you know exactly what to say don't you," All for One muses with amusement as he slowly moves his hands to cup Machia's chin instead. Slowly the man leans into him, the smell of alcohol lingering on his savior's breath. His lips so close to his own clearly tempting him on purpose, bait to make Machia forfeit his life if he takes it.

"How far are you willing to go...?"

"As far as you are willing."

"Let us see then... Shall we?"

It was a surprisingly clumsy kiss, but he doesn't dare point that out.

Machia hasn’t been around long and yet. He’s already become a favourite character of many 🙌😂 Machia sweep.

And surprisingly he can smell the relation between Hisashi and Izuku. You’re right that after thousands of years (and generations on the human side separating them) realistically Hisashi and Izuku would be so far apart on the family tree that they wouldn’t share any DNA. Still on the same family tree, but like. Very distantly.

But it’s fanfic so we decided Machia can still pick up traces of Hisashi’s heritage and smell the blood relation between him and Izuku 😂 Hisashi got that speck 👏👏

outside of confirming that yeah gigantomachia actually does have feelings, he's a babygirl with big feelings, bnha 384 is bad in large part due to it simply not acknowledging the ethical quagmire of shinsou brainwashing gigantomachia in the one of the most haphazard lazy handwaves in a third act full of haphazard lazy handwaves, and the reporters being overly saccharine and nonsensical in the third act's ongoing 'propaganda is bad except when the heroes do it' thread, but mostly it's bad because i only get small or obscured panels of my beloved new son, baby all for one, when i still haven't recovered from not being allowed a detailed look at adult all for one's waistcoat.
